Is MyEtherWallet the best option for ERC20 tokens ?

For a noob, Myetherwallet is a great storage for your tokens. You get to feel the ethereum blockchain environment first-hand from mew. But it's advisable to access the mew using metamask on chrome via pc or import your private key to imtoken (which requires download from app or play store) on smartphone. This will further prevent the risk of getting hacked but its not fool proof though.

Getting an offline wallet will be the best way to secure your tokens.

The best way to store, it is a cold wallet. If there is no desire or\and opportunity to use it, yes, MEW is the best wallet for ERC-20 tokens. If possible, use it together with Trezor or Ledger.

If you use your tokens quite often, you can use MEW.
Don't forget to install Metamask and MEW Google Chrome extension to secure your tokens.
If you want to hold safely, you should buy Ledger or Trezor.

MyEtherWallet is one of the best wallets that SUPPORTS erc20 tokens. In addition, if you participate in bounty companies or invest in ICO projects, you just need this wallet, as almost all companies cooperate with MEW.

I like Neo Wallet more but Erc20 tokens are very much now a days and with most of the good project integrating ethereum protocol so it's a must for Crypto.

I think that if we combine hardware wallet like ledger nano with MEW , it will give best experience rather than just depending on any ERC wallet.

Better use MetaMask for ERC tokens. When you enter it, you will not disclose your JSON File or private key. Even on the official website MEW recommend MetaMask.

Yes MEW is best for ERC20 tokens, it is more recommended that you use metamask(protects from phishing sites) to avoid exposing your private key online, or more recommended method is that you use an offline copy of MEW and run on your PC without internet connection. Or another best option is that you use hardware wallet Nano ledger/Trezor in conjunction with MEW as your private keys won't leave from your device.

I strongly agree that myetherwallet is one of the recommended wallets for all altcoin.
 But if you want to try a wallet that is better security, maybe you can try trezor because of higher security better and have many people who use this wallet.

MEW is not the best option for ERC20 tokens, there are some multiwallet platform just like imtoken and coinomi which has offered the same thing but with high level of security to the users.
MEW combined with metamask is also a good option in my opinion.

MEW  is the simplest and most convenient wallet that I used. For the beginner is the best. I would have only immediately created 4-5 MEW addresses, to distribute the risks. But really it would be cool to buy a Ledger or Trezor. Or at least install Metamask.

MEW is good for first timer and you have to be careful of not sharing your private keys and if you want to upgrade the best wallet that you can use is hardware wallet.
And for an hardware wallet I recommend Ledger Nano S.

I think the correct sentence should be that myetherwallet is best for eth based tokens and not the altcoins as there are a lot of altcoins that have their own blockchain and mainnet with their own unique wallets.

Yes MEW is the best coz this wallet is also safe it defend on you how to keep it into the hacker, the private key is most important that you only know this, and dont give to other, many wallet that safe to use but MEW is easy.

If you are just a bounty hunters MEW Wallet is enough but always put in your mind to check first the twitter page of MEW and or in facebook to know if the  site is not experiencing any failure or hijack during that moment to make sure that your wallet is safe to open. So far mew is the best to access your eth coins.  But recently there are news that mew's domain dns got hacked.  Meaning even you browse the myetherwallet.com correct domain you will be redirected to a scam and philsting version of mew site.

I have been using MEW for storing my ERC20 tokens for more than one year now, and till now I haven't faced any issues. Compared to the other options, MEW is much more effective and cheap. You may need to rethink if the net-worth of your tokens is more than $50,000 or $100,000.

for a starter the best wallet is MEW. and it is good to store erc20 tokens .which you earned it from some bounties or airdrops .
but you really need to store your Private key  properly and beware many phishing sites  of the MEW website .. always be aware

MEW that can be used as a wallet is great for easy transfer of example when I have a bounty or airdrop that joins a mew is a way in which you can use it because they enter your prize or find out in any project they are doing

Myetherwallet is a right place to store your ERC20 coins but due to so many hacking issues facing by many people, the best option for long term investors to store their coins in hardware wallet as no infiltration is possible in that wallet.

Myetherwallet is the best wallet for store Erc20 tokens/Coins but nowadays hacking of myetherwallet increasing excessively and many people are victim of this everyday. So best option for MEW is to be use with hardware wallet, like Trazor and Ledger.

But make sure that you use a wallet with a Trezor, because it is not safe to paste your Private key into your browser every time you want to log in. Because a lot of keyloggers could track your key and steal everything!

I'm a beginner and MEW suits me. I distribute my tokens between exchanges and the mew wallet. Yes, it is not safe to keep on the stock exchanges, but if I need to quickly sell I can do it.

It is a good option if you are participating in Ico and you have acquire new tokens, but they are not the best wallet in the market, the majority still consider hardware wallet as the best option to store your ethereum based token and many have proven that.

If you have no option then MEW with the private key will be best. But f you want to assure security for your token I will suggest you to go with Trezor or Ledger Nano S.

Sure, the idea of having access to your ERC20 token is to have your private keys which MEW is a very good option but based on security, and having to login with private keys all the time, I feel making use of MetaMask is still the best. You still have your private keys, you can login straight via MEW with Metamask and carry out every necessary transaction without having to use your private keys and this at least prevents you from phishing attacks. For me, if you do not have cash to purchase hardware wallet, this is still much the best option.

until now I still use myetherwallet (MEW) as the best wallet for tokens that have smart contract ERC-20. although some time ago the website never experienced a hacking disorder in its domain but I am sure all of it has been fixed properly

Of course at the moment I think MEW is the best "free" wallet for ETH and ERC20 token :). You can store all ERC20 token in MEW as you want and it's really ez to create a new MEW wallet so you can get as much as MEW wallet as you want as well. But for now, MEW is not really safe so I can see that people is changing to use coldstorage wallet like Ledger nano S or Trezor to store their token :)

Myetherwallet is just the user interface that we use to access the ethereum blockchain. All erc20 tokens are saved on the chain and not on the myetherwallet website. So you can use any of the services to access the ehreum blockchain. Just keep your keys safe, or better, use a hardware wallet.

MEW is not the best place to store ERC20 token but I think it's still good to use although there are so many hackers are trying to hack your MEW wallet out there :). If you wanna improve secure of your MEW wallet, you can use Meta Mask, it'll make your MEW much safer and it'll make hackers hard to access to your wallet ;D

Since I am the only ERC-20 wallet service I use, I can not compare it with other services, but I can often say that I am satisfied with it. I have many positive reasons such as not experiencing any problems, not having any problems. Nevertheless, it is imperative to use other services for comparison. At least those who have used other services should also value their comments.

Myetherwallet was one of the best wallets for holding tokens until it was compromised lately. Apparently hackers had compromised myetherwallet and this is the reason why it is not safe anymore as it once used to  be. It doesn't mean we should stop using it. Although it was compromised, it still is a better wallet than most other wallets. The benefit of using MEW is that it can hold almost all the ERC20 tokens that are created. If you don't want to use MEW then there are many other wallets which you can use and my personal favorite amongst them is Eidoo wallet which supports many tokens.

I heard that myetherwallet is not safe anymore because of their DNS problem.
So, I suggest you move to another wallet such as Mycrypto or Blue wallet.

Despite being free there's a risk if you keep on depending with free wallet.

Even though we used hardware wallets but still have chances that we might lost our coins especially when are accidentally visiting phishing sites. Yes you are right with that MyEtherWallet is the best wallet for ERC20 tokens that's where I store my tokens and make sure you will use your MetaMask whenever you want to login your MEW, do not enter your private key just to make sure avoid phishing site to giving out your information. yes for new users it is good to use MEW for altcoins as storage but if you  check the news regarding to the MEW about the hacking of the account using MEW, some got pish  using MEW last moths or few weeks ago i guess i dont know the exact date, but when i heard that problem i did change my wallet from MEW to Imtoken as a storage of my tokens  just to be safe,

I think MEW is a great choice to save ERC20. In addition to secure MEW is the wallet most widely used by people and owners of ICO. I feel safe with MEW. Although now many thieves are trying to retrieve our tokens, but I will continue to be cautious and not bleed access MEW anywhere else or links.

I think that there are a number of people in this forum using it and almost all of them feel satisfied with MEW because it kind of easy to use with  much cheaper. So do i. MEW is one kind of a good wallet I’ve known. You can use MEW for storing all ERC20 token. However, it’s not completely safe, anyway we must be cautious because so many hackers seem give an eye on your wallet , and yours would me more likely to be hacked.

In terms of convenience, probably the best one right now. I am not so sure about security. I always use metamask if ever send from MEW.

So far Myetherwallet is still the best wallet that you can use for ERC20 token. If you want to better security it is better to use Ledger Nano that also have Myetherwallet. It is very secure because the user needs the physical device to access the wallet.

There are exchange that works great if you use Metamask so I recommend that you start learning it as well. Mew is the official tool of the ether token, he can solve all problems. Other third-party tools are often limited and not fully functional, but their security may be better. But mew is the most basic and complete.
