Does somebody know why the BTC price dropped with 5%? Is there a reason?  ???
What I have read on the forum the last couple of days it was expected that the BTC price and ETH price would rise.

Now prices are declining and because of BTC altcoin a lot of altcoin are popping up and thus resulted in the price of the bitcoin and altcoin others to drop but with the price of the bitcoin now I bet by the end of 2018 priced bitcoin and altcoin others can skyrocket in the highest price

indeed from last month bitcoin prices decreased and it is difficult to rise back to a stable price, therefore, I now prefer Ethereum because Ethereum has good growth and can be good for the future and I choose bitcoin only to invest in long-term and can be profitable with this is more to Ethereum for altcoin

It does look like someone dumped. I was expecting it though, because the price has been down for so long that people were just waiting for the recovery to just get to a good price so they can dump coins and get out their money with a bit of profit. Fear not, the price will recover again and will most likely beat the last price before it dropped.

I do not know about this. I am just some people who still do not understand how the price of BTC and ETH can go down. but everyone's expectations must be the same as what you read in the forum that BTC and ETH will go up.

Can`t you already tell, that forums aren`t always right, my friend. Moreover, they tend to be wrong more than 60% of the time by my calculations. I think the price has gone down because of speculations and new information concerning Bitcoin.

First of all never trust completely on what you read in the forum, form your own opinion and then you can decide what you want to do based on your own predictions, second you are very new in the forum and in the market maybe you do not know but those kind of movements are not rare at all for bitcoin or ethereum in fact they can move a lot more than that, so I recommend that you study more before you make any investment in the market.

About two weeks ago bitcoin price was trap around $9,000 and $9,500 and many traders were expecting that bitcoin will break that channel and began to move up but that could not happen and since price most take a direction and that is why it is were it is today.  The bearish condition is really and it most come up over $7500 before another upwards movement.

Maybe just a correction or whatever happens no one knows. However, the hope of many people is bitcoin can go up again later. It's almost the middle of the year but has not happened a significant increase for bitcoin until this time. expect only the best in at least year's end in order to return to high price.

I have been stating this all over the boards, but we are simply just not out of the woods yet. Bitcoin looked rather stable, but it suddenly dropped again.

During bear market,  this is usually the adjustment period of btc and until when  it will continue, no one knows. It is dropping because of continuous FUD that is created by other whales who haven't finish accumulating Bitcoin. They sensationalized the news to make panic. If you are a long time holder you will not be affected on this event because it is normal in crypto.

This dropping of price seems that it will again drag the price of BTC to the $5000. In the chart it is clearly indicating that it is a down ward movement. But, no body can't say that how long this trend will go. As, you have noticed that when the price of BTC go down then it is go down and down further. I was expecting a price increase, too. I am shocked by what is happening in the market. Who has enough strength to endure a fall.

I don't think it is necessary to look for reasons for individual price movements like this - they have been common throughout 2018. But I can think of a major contributing reason to the generally increased volatility across the whole market that we have seen since the big rise that started towards the end of 2017. In my opinion, the problem with the big rise was that it was too rapid and wasn't broken by periods of levelling off. Because we didn't have any of these periods of levelling and consolidation, it meant that when the market inevitably rose too high and started to fall back, no new base prices had been established, so no-one knew how far down the market could be expected to fall. The market went from $200b to $800b in a matter of weeks. We all agreed that $800b was too high, but where should it drop back to? Would $500b be stable? Or all the way back to $200b? This caused widespread panic, and prices overshot again, falling farther than they should have until finally a consensus was reached at about $250b that we had fallen too far, so the bounceback began. But again - how high to bounce back?
All just my opinion, but we have seen dramatic downwards and upwards movements that overshoot and then go into reverse. The underlying reason I think is uncertainty about what might consititute sensible prices following the rise at the end of 2017. If no one wanted to buy bitcoin anymore then the price will be zero, the demand for bitcoin is still high but it is not as high as it was just a few months ago, but like many things in the market this drop in demand is not permanent, at some point the interest in bitcoin will be renewed but we will need sometime for that to happen since the memories of the previous crash are still fresh.

Currently, btc is just starting to recover from its dip and those weeks were btc was on bear market, I believe that it was just something of a correction period. Let us not expect a very big growth in price value for btc just like what happened in the last quarter where it had almost reached at $20K USD but will consider it may increase more than current price at $7.6K in the latest actual value. In my assumption, btc may however reached the $14K USD within the last quarter of 2018. I would say that ethereum can't be considered as a security and that makies ethereum is much better rather than another coin such as EOS, Rrpple and many more. I hope you get my point about that.

What I use to think of is that,so will I lose after investing all these while in bitcoin and can I achieve my set goals this year. I'd have to agree with you. Every coin on the market will follow the trend of BTC, and with the fluctuations we've been experiencing lately,  it can only be due to market manipulation-The big sharks are at it again.  

Very often our expectations about growth of the price for cryptocurrency are not met. And it is generally clear, all cannot be in plus. The price just like that in itself does not grow.

I guess the best thing we can do is to be more patient because surely it will declining and for sure the altcoins will also fall of its value. Don't too much worry about the Bitcoin price drop because eventually it will be increase again. Seems like you’re still a noob by believing what people say in this forum. Most of them just come here to say rubbish, just like one guy in this forum that claimed that price will go from $6400 to $15000 in July and I stupidly believed him and put my money with hope that price will reach that rate but it never happened. Just believe in yourself and maybe find a group that notifies their members of when price is getting pumps and try to learn how to also analyze market yourself without relying on people to do it for you.

The reason is always the same, there is not enough demand for the coins to balance out the supply that people are dumping in the market. Money is leaving the market, the hype is dying out, it is the same thing that has been causing the price to drop. Just don't worry about it now, we just have to give it time, it will get better.

It is normal that in these bear markets the price goes down enormously because the investments are drying up a bit, at this moment the investors only hope that the market stabilizes and the whales stop dumping to be able to put money back in the market.

Strange things are happening to this market but bitcoin is still the one that declares the market. Alts affected bitcoin but it can recover no matter how it was affected.

Definitely when comparing to other altcoins I think it's better. Quite hard to understand the market strategy sometimes it pumps and again it dumps. No one are unable to predict what's going to happen in this last quarter session. I guess it is slowly gearing up let's wait and watch.
