We are rolling out one of New Year promotion:

Requirement:
Mining at http://ic.mepool.cc and promotion starting at block 4754 and end at block 5040

1. 500 ICOIN per MH
Each miner with 1MH/s or more, beside your regular reward, also receive: Your MH x 500 ICOIN for 24 hours mining continously at least 16/24 hours.

2. Block finder reward
Block finder will receive additional reward 300 ICOIN/block (please don't hide your nick with anonymous option so we can check finder list). This reward will be given at block 5040

3. Top 15 reward
1 of top 15 miners get randomly 10,000 IC (we will screenshot top 15 and use random.org to find out winner) at block 5040

Nice one Captain, this is a great promotion... logo poll will be going up soon aswell, so we invite the community to vote for a logo that will be as good as the coins name.

All great but what if power goes out? What if my PC crashes? What if my cat dies? etc. There are many reasons out of people's hands why they could fail to comply with that request even if they have the will to do it. I think asking for 24hr continuously is a bit unfair. Something like 24hr until tomorrow night or block 5040 or whichever comes last would be more reasonable.

Don't worry, we are checking the pool every hour. Pool owner can calculate to check if the miner is actively mining within 24 hours (power goes down up to 3 hours is acceptable).

This is just first event for iCoin in 2014, more to come.

The Vardiff on the pool keeps changing to try get more out of your hashing power.

@boxuser, if you look at the main iCoin thread, everyone received there giveaways so far. The last thing we want to do is give anyone the impression it's another scam coin.
If this was the case we would of had it on the exchanges already dumping out :)

Well I just found one blocK... which turned to be orphaned.
The fist one I got so far and it has to be the only orphan I've seen since I'm mining Icoin...

or you will get 500 icoins for every block found by the pool in the block range you specified?

As I understand it, if you mine for 24 hours you will get 500 iCoin per MH at the end. In addition to that you will get 300 iCoin for each block you find.

There is something wrong with the pool. At 2.5mhash per worker for me, the worker diff just increased to 1,901.71 causing almost 90% rejects by server for me. At 7.5mhash that I have, the pool just shows 1.6mhash for me!

When I changed the worker to a new name, all worked fine again. I think it is desirable to lower the vardiff.

my question: is is it just 24hrs? or if i mined for 24hrs, and kept mining another 24hrs, do i qualify again to get an additional reward?

Maybe I am being impatient but It seems that those who got paid out did quite quickly.

I hit 24 hours 5 hours ago, and sent my pm 2 -3 hours ago and if im correct he was online when or after I sent the pm, still no response or payment.

I sent 2Mhs at that pool for 24 hours straight, 3 blocks found as wel, was pretty happy with the day of mining except after days and a couple PM's I also haven't got a single thing for my time.

Exercise a little patience. I mined at 2MHs for 20 hours and didn't find a block until the event was over. At least you found some blocks...

First off, thanks for the great promotion. But I fear it has created an issue. The difficulty seems to have moved up to 25 from 16 and the hashing power droped to about 1/3 so currently the block time is sky high(45min to several hours). I was actually earning way less coins/day making up a much larger percent of the hashing. And it looks like another 900 blocks to go like this.
Just my opinion here:
Either need: force difficulty down (idk if it can), Change coin for quicker retarget (also idk if possible), or get another 100mh of miners.
