ok so folks are now downloading the new coins from that autocoin generation website, start to mine them for a while themselves and then launch them before the "dev"  does, that paid for that coin to be generated, what a joke  ;D

coin owner is a guy who pays a dev to create a coin for him
But in most cases the coin owner is not developing the coin itself so this is a pretty stupid explanation

See the OP reddit post. Coin owner has already mentioned that he created the coin using coingen. Even if you download the wallet also, there is a watermark with coingen. Not everyone needs to be experts in coding :)

Coingen is a cool idea for the dev making all the money. He probably made a script that just does everything in seconds and a new coin is banged out. Brilliant!

So this is a good thing. It will teach everyone not to download crapcoins once they see all their time and effort end up going nowhere. Give them a few months .. I suspect this shit will stop once devs get the word that no one is mining crap coins anymore. The scams will have to get more elaborate.

Quite a few users already CPU mining (and a few GPU). Dedicated VPS node in place. It looks like this is the coingen coin and nothing whatsoever to do with the scrypt based coin that is now scheduled for release in April.

Yes, there is no source at the moment (whoever paid for it did not select the 'source included' option at extra cost).
Is it a scam coin? Depends on your outlook I guess.

Basically it was created for a laugh and some guys and gals on reddit started mining it. For many of us (me included), we are not expecting it to take off, or to make money out of it. I never got on the boat early enough to mine any sha256 coin and it's nice to mess around with it, have fun and learn a few things in the process. Alt-cryptos are not all about money :)
