i downloaded it from the new coin people - the guys that make coins for 0.01 - but it came without source code

Is it working now ? No it never worked...as i said probably the real owner removed the blockchain and probably he will reset it when he want to launch it When was it connected last time for you ? Looks like dns seed node is down. |

Coingen is a cool idea for the dev making all the money. He probably made a script that just does everything in seconds and a new coin is banged out. Brilliant!
So this is a good thing. It will teach everyone not to download crapcoins once they see all their time and effort end up going nowhere. Give them a few months .. I suspect this shit will stop once devs get the word that no one is mining crap coins anymore. The scams will have to get more elaborate.

Dedicated VPS node in place. It looks like this is the coingen coin and nothing whatsoever to do with the scrypt based coin that is now scheduled for release in April. Some current stats: blocks: 1282 currentblocksize: 1000 difficulty: 1 Yes, it's build using coingen. Yes, there is no source at the moment (whoever paid for it did not select the 'source included' option at extra cost). Is it a scam coin? Depends on your outlook I guess. Basically it was created for a laugh and some guys and gals on reddit started mining it. For many of us (me included), we are not expecting it to take off, or to make money out of it. I never got on the boat early enough to mine any sha256 coin and it's nice to mess around with it, have fun and learn a few things in the process.
