Or another idea was to create a second version of the game, where all boats win back large amounts of clicks, and only hitting chests would win btc? would allow for much bigger bonuses as not as much would be getting paid out for the boats. Could add an extra chest per 12 hours that it doesnt get found or somthing?

My idea would be add a 1 square chest for every deposit over 1btc or something, and allot a % of that deposit as the prize, so more deposits = more random chests to hit other than a ship. Deposit 1btc, 0.01 bitcent in a chest randomly, they won't increase in value, just the new chests would get the 1% to it. That'd work in side by side with your 10% discount on over 50 clicks (which comes to just over 1btc). So after a few deposits (1, 5, 1.5, 1.9, 1.4) you'd have chests of (0.01, 0.05, 0.015, 0.019, 0.014) on 5 random squares. :D

You would still be winning more than losing, because per click is still cheaper than those rewards there, but it'd be a 'free click' basically worth of bitcoins for anyone who does get lucky and hit one. If all the ships are found and theres any treasures left they could all be 'opened' and added to the pool for the next round, or roll over?

Ships of diffrent lengths with diffrent values would be a good idea

That wouldnt be too difficult to do, it was the orginal plan. But to make sure things run smoothly i had to run it with the same amount / length.

I wouldn't expect lowering it to 12 hours to make much difference, somthing like 4 hours on the other hand, might get quite competitive.
