Title: BTC-e ACCOUNT Suspended and IP Banned
Post by: awas on January 23, 2014, 03:43:58 PM
So as I've posted earlier, i originally got my account hacked but btc-e was able to return the account back to me. I contacted btc-e on skype at btc-e.support. It seemed fishy from the beginning because I just don't trust anyone. SO ANYWAYS, the guy on skype basically was asking me to change the email to a temporary email that they will create. Doesn't that sound like a scam? So i thought its a 100% scam and said no. The guy says I will suspend and disable your account when "my boss comes online". So after a day later, my ip is banned and my account is suspended. Like wtf? Did he somehow manage to screw with my account or is this real btc-e support im getting? Someone please help,  I just want my money.

I just dont know how he had the power to ban my ip or suspend my account, maybe doing something with my ip or making something suspicious? He was threatening me from yesterday to change the account email to the one "they will create". It has to be an attempt to steal my account because btc-e wouldnt ask the user to change the email, they can change it. Ugh this is so frustrating, all i need is my account and money back.

looks like im having the same problem as this person: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345226.0

I guess the "hacker" somehow got my ip banned and got my account suspended under suspicion of hacking.

Waiting to hear from btc-e.  ???

I need to keep posting because I am going nuts. All of my money is in the account.

Here how the convo started before my account was suspended and I got ip ban. Maybe someone on the inside working to steal couple accounts? I dont know what else to think, this would sound as a simple scam.

[1/22/2014 5:50:54 PM] btc-e.support: hello
[1/22/2014 5:54:54 PM] btc-e.support: did u get account finally ?
[1/22/2014 5:56:20 PM] Gintaras: Yes thank you so much
[1/22/2014 5:56:34 PM] btc-e.support: you account is flaged
[1/22/2014 5:56:58 PM] btc-e.support: username: edited
[1/22/2014 5:57:00 PM] btc-e.support: ip: edited
[1/22/2014 5:57:01 PM] btc-e.support: correct?
[1/22/2014 5:57:46 PM] Gintaras: Yes, my ip changed because i moved to university now, before i was home
[1/22/2014 5:58:08 PM] Gintaras: The ip from edited was the hacker
[1/22/2014 5:58:20 PM] btc-e.support: How many hours lock left ?
[1/22/2014 6:00:02 PM] btc-e.support: ?
[1/22/2014 6:08:57 PM] Gintaras: 335 last time i checked
[1/22/2014 7:12:11 PM] btc-e.support: To many suspicious activity on your account
[1/22/2014 7:12:14 PM] btc-e.support: I must disable it
[1/22/2014 7:13:45 PM] btc-e.support: Or we must hold it for that time
[1/22/2014 7:14:07 PM] Gintaras: I dont understand
[1/22/2014 7:14:20 PM] Gintaras: Ive been the owner for over a year
[1/22/2014 7:14:25 PM] btc-e.support: We will take your account for 20 days or i will disable it
[1/22/2014 7:14:34 PM] btc-e.support: Permanently
[1/22/2014 7:14:54 PM] btc-e.support: To many different ip's logged,suspicious activity
[1/22/2014 7:16:55 PM] btc-e.support: Do you understand ?
[1/22/2014 7:17:54 PM] btc-e.support: You can either assist me to solve the problem or i have no choice than disable the account

He kept forcing me to change my email to an email "they will create".

I've been talking to btc-e.support on skype. I thought he was a scammer but he said he was going to ban me and suspend my account if I didnt do what he wanted and he did do it so that makes me believe hes not a scammer. I was contacted by nikola through their skype, he said he will help me resolve it and get my account back. I still have some hope to get it back.

You should ask him for the guy who banned you's info and you should tell him to tell heir boss to investigate that guy.:)

I have a lot more respect for BTC-e after skimming this.  Seems to me that they did pretty much everything right, and I'm sure that support was tearing their hair out dealing with someone so clueless.  Been there, done that, but thankfully it was a loooong time ago.

I will keep posting so people can see how btc-e handles this situation in the future. I confirmed I am the original owner and btc-e.support on skype said my account will be back after some days

Sounded to me like the support guy wanted to set up a quick throw-away e-mail account.  The advantage of this would be that if your real e-mail account was compromised (highly likely) then the attacker would have some work to intercept messages sent through the new one.

Or that specific representative is trying to scam customers?

Just like the actions of a heart surgeon are similar in principle to those of a slasher I suppose.

I guess we will wait and see. I will keep everyone updated. I trust them to get it back to me but not 100%. I have to wait an X amount of days for security measures.

so my email was changed, should I worry about that at all? Or just sit around and wait. I just don't know if I will get my money back, they wanted me to wait a certain amount of days. I feel like whoever is controlling the account will just wait till the lock is removed from the account and then withdraw..ugh

awas, do you have any news about your btc-e account already?
I have similar problem from 27th january, I've got only 2 messages from them after I reported hacker attack.
First one that my account is blocked, and after 2hours second one that "Withdrawal has been confirmed with your mail" ;/, which means probably hacker stole all my money.

Unbelievable how this "support" work's, this is far away from normal standards. I sent several tickets, without any answer, they just clean all this tickets and put it to the one ticket...I have no idea how long I have to wait or, do they do anything with my problem...

None of them is real now, if they were to be then u could found them on their support page. There was but not anymore. There was this guy who tried to scam me, not knowing i have a background in pentesting, i exposed him here. And posted all my convo here. So submit a ticket is the safest way.
But again i have same problem they banned my account (since i myself is a victim of phishing site) they dont reply. If they want there site to be succsesful they need to improve their support system.
Also submit ticket in russian

Lost all hope. The person on skype contacted me today asking to deposit 50% of the amount I had in the account to verify I am the owner (he told me the amount that there was in the account so its not verifying anything). He has the account and just wants more money from me. I provided him with all kinds of info so in the end he got the account back from btc-e. Well played mate, stole all of my money and now im just a broke college student...Lets see what karma has in store for us...

if someone ask for btc, most likely is a scammer. if they asked you to send a wire to your btc-e account to verify by way of their official helpdesk site, it could be legit. but for now the most important thing, is : did you format your computer and reinstall everything, and changed your mails password and setup 2FA?

still can't get over the fact that he was able to ban and suspend my account after i got it back through their ticket system. So then i provided all info like screens of my wallet. Goddamn crooks, stealing money. Have fun with all the coins i worked for, karma will get you.

BTCe has no skype support anymore. Only their ticket system, twitter, and account here on the forums. Be very careful connecting to people via skype for any Bitcoin related business.

If you search on google then you can see he is a somewhat known scammer in some areas.

He is selling runescape gold... Thats like a big "scammer" tatooted on his nose.

yeah i know, he was impersonating btc-e but I just dont know how he was able to ban my ip and suspend my account. Anyways, I guess the only option is to involve authorities and provide them with as much info about him as possible. If anyone knows anything else about him or whats the best way to go about it, let me know.
