Title: Bitcoin still a buy despite recent losses
Post by: blizzard31 on May 29, 2018, 10:39:45 AM
according to the news at CNBC here is why:
the coin has seen better days. After surging last December to around $19,500, bitcoin has declined more than 50 percent since the start of the year. On Thursday, amid increased regulatory scrutiny in the cryptocurrency space, the coin fell yet again — this time below $8,000, where bitcoin had hovered for several weeks. Late Friday, bitcoin changed hands around $7,400.

Regardless, Bogart(a partner at blockchain capital) said it's still a buy. In fact, he said it's the only coin traders should be buying as the coin becomes more mainstream.

Many of the other forms of cryptocurrency, Bogart said, are "over-promising and under-delivering. Meanwhile you have a few that are kind of excelling at their use cases. Bitcoin being one of them." Bogart recommended selling coins like Cardano, TRON, IOTA and NEO.

"A lot of those tokens are overvalued," Bogart said. "They could be go up significantly, but they also have significant headwind." Alternatives like ethereum, ripple, bitcoin cash and EOS, however, he described as "neutral" — and he told investors to hold for now.

what are your insights why does bitcoin still a buy in spite of all the losses?

I still believe that bitcoin is still a buy. The price now is good to enter buy and soon there will be a reversal once the regulations hovering now melt down. So whoever has fund to invest bitcoin is it.

I'm holding still all my bitcoins and didn't any coins at a loss. If one believes in bitcoin then they shouldn't worry about these temporary price fluctuations because it is not new to crypto traders.

Once slowly bitcoin being used more and more in mainstream businesses then its price can go very high but it may take some time so I believe that it will happen so holding my all my bitcoins.

As long as there are still many people who believe in bitcoin, we do not have to worry that bitcoin will die. in my opinion bitcoin will soon be able to bounce back ...

I don't like all these people telling others to buy bitcoin now. it is not doing anybody any good.
I believe that we are not at the bottom yet and price may fall more and when you keep telling newbies to buy we may end up seeing another big wave of panic sellers who mess everything up again.
just let the market find its bottom and things to calm down with the whales and  their hungry bellies and then jump back in again. it will happen soon and you need to be vigilant when it happens but there is a good chance that going in too soon is not going to end that well.

He's right in my opinion. Bitcoin has always been one of the most stable cryptos to date, and it still definitely has the brightest long-term outlook among the major ones. Heck, I would even go one step further and say sell everything and just hold Bitcoin instead. It's hard to justify diversification when everything moves pretty much the same way like 90% of the time. Might as well hold the safest one, right?

Bitcoin is still a buy since if you look at the adoption of bitcoin by big companies this year then you can tell that this year bitcoin is starting to be mainstreamed. I am confused why its value is decreasing but so far as acceptance bitcoin market is already expanding. Though experts said that bitcoin could eventually recover by June or October this year, and this promise gives hope to bitcoin holders.

I think regulations will be even stronger in future but people will get used to those regulation and taxation and it will no longer create panic on market. Government are now becoming greedy over possible tax they can collect from billion dollar crypto market which gonna be over trillion dollar market soon.

When government will start promoting crypto investments and related businesses like exchanges in near future after placing enough regulatory infrastructure crypto can fly to real moon .... ;)

We have to live with truth of taxation, every citizen might have to pay tax on their every crypto income ...

I think the fundamentals remain strong, but the key will be for the Lightning Network to be implemented more widely within the network and to prove itself feasible for scaling.

I have always advocated for buying of bitcoins cause that's simply the best coin that's available for users, mostly everyone has heard of it, it's easy to liquidate the coin. As he rightly said all other alts are overvalued and can burst cause people will just dump them, but btc has time and time again proven to rise up and up. I think these are excellent times to buy and accumulate bitcoins.

i perhaps agree with your opinion, besides bitcoin hasn't yet reached its peak where you cannot buy on and it hasn't still matured yet to be called at peak already, but relatively based on its price and where it stopped you could actually say its on his peak, but not quiet right.

Yes, price now is quite good to buy since btc value is so low. If the value is high and you bought some of it, it will be hard for you to gain income so this is the right time to buy btc, do not afraid of losing because btc will not stay as this. The volatility of crypto is normal patience and trust btc is only the best thing to do for now.

Bitcoin prices tend to fall sharply but surprisingly people still buy bitcoin. Because there are some people who do not have the money to invest comfortably "eat more" and meet their throne. Criminals use bitcoin to launder money, tax evasion, soccer betting, money transfer abroad.

It's  because of there's many people are truly believe in power of bitcoin,  the ability to change the world by financial in the future.
They still buy bitcoin in a lower price because  they  believe  that it will increase  soon and to gain big profits.

Many people continue to buy bitcoin even though recent bitcoin price drops lead to losses. Because of the fact that bitcoin has helped many people get rich quick when it comes to luck. They conceived: the liver would be rich. So if there is no loss then one person or the other still invest in bitcoin.

They see the current drop as a buying opportunity rather than a time to sell everything. Optimism reigns supreme within the market despite the fear-mongering and lack of positive news circulating eithin the market. Most of the people buying think that this is their chance to get in just in case another crazy bull run happens while others think that this price range would never be seen again short-term. Whatever their reasons are on being positive despite the heavy blows in the price, it's surely faith that's the main mover for them.

Yes. I think this could be a blessing in disguise for us bitcoin holders. This is a great opportunity for us to increase our assets by buying bitcoin. I only purchase bitcoin when it dropped its price and this is exactly what I have been waiting for. Although it will requires us to hodl more, I am still positive and will continue to believe that bitcoin will increase by the end of the year. Still a lot of ways to go but we'll get there. Don't panic and HODL.

Like other currencies, Bitcoin is valuable because people think it has value!
If you are looking for a potential that could double or triple your investment, and you can take a potentially huge loss, investing a portion of your portfolio in Bitcoin may be the right choice.

Bitcoin is still a buy I have to say. This is because it still holds a higher influence over the alts than any other coin. The bull run is coming and bitcoin will be at the top of the charts.

True. I'm sick of investing in alts that promise the world and then fail to deliver. Seems to be happening more frequently nowadays too. Looks like people are starting to think that ICO pretty much guarantees their project will be successful, when in reality they're starting to face super touch competition now. Only the strong can survive now, and it's better that way.

Bitcoin is still a goodbuy, if you want to have a huge potential for your investment, bitcoin can still give you a good positive return, if you are worrying aboutnthe downtrend in bitcoin today, you must update yourself and check what is happening, the value of bitcoin is still recovering by itself, but only goes down whenever Mt. Gox releases its bitcoins, but ince Mt. Gox had exhausted all their bitcoins, and is no longer a factor, we will see the rise in value of bitcoin and for sure, it will hit a new ATH, come to think of it, the losses is not due to Bitcoin being a bubble, but it is due to the fact, there are certain factors that we cannot control, just like in the tradional stock market.

Bitcoin is still worth buying for, the price shows some recovery but this might be in short term we can still see some dump but don't worry the market is healthy and bitcoin can go high this year. A lot of big investors are still coming, and the big companies are slowly adopting the system. The future will be good for you if you believe on bitcoin, keep on buying when everyone is afraid.

Despite of it's decreasing value, I'm still believe on it's potential and I know that it will be making much better movement's in upcoming couple of days or weeks so still I keep holding my bitcoin and waiting for the right time to comes where in it will reach it's highest peak. However, falling is just a normal things to this system because in what we understand this system is very volatile so we are able to expect the none stop ups and downs movement to it's value.

Well it's because we know the way bitcoin runs and how much the possibilities and potential that it could give us when the price of it gets high again. We know that after some time, it will have a good price again worthy to be sold and that will bring us a lot of profit, that is the potential of bitcoin that's why not it is still something that we should buy because it is the main deal.

Bitcoin still in buying period despite of some losses. I think losses is depends in the holders because in investment it could be successful or it could be failed depend on how it will operate or manage by the owner so in making investment it is better that we have a full knowledge and we have a positive set of mind or us to make a better strategy and decisions that made our investment successful.

If btc weren't the mainstream and that its not widely used and known to the public, it wouldn't be bought. the newer coins and tokens are more sophisticated actually. but NEO being under delivering? you're a bitch bogart. you invested on EOS and ripple so yes we can understand that you can fud around specially if you have no NEO stash.

Struggle and downfall are part of long run success so bitcin is in the moment of experiencing it. Its struggle is not the thing to look up rather a motivation to stand with it. It's a good investment for the coming years so be still with it. Keep in touchit with bitcoin because sooner or later it will rise again.

It is because investors still believes that bitcoin will reach again its peaked price last year december which is $19500. It is just the best time to buy bitcoin while it is still low because people or investors wants to earn and have profits before the end of the year. They think that it will pump again before the end of 2018.

Yes, it is always demanding to the investor. Actually the best time that a smart investors wanted to buy is if in the downfall season which can they buy much more of it because they can buy it in much lower value so in the near future it's much be benefited to them. In sometimes be in loss is a part of investment but not in all times. It is good to have a better strategy so our investment will be successful.

Many people still buy bitcoin especially in the recent decrease because this is actually a good opportunity to invest due to the low price and it can benefit until it increases again in the future this is why many people are still investing. Good investors see all opportunity as a positive investment and if you are really eager you can earn a lot from it.  ;)

I personally think I'll buy bitcoin when the price goes down like this is the right time to buy after the price rises should you be able to sell it again, so take advantage of the existing situation to make a profit.

I think the strongest motivation for most people to buy bitcoins are that it dropped in value with more than 50%. If it dropped in value and people bought at the low end, then they will make 50% profit, if it goes back to the ATH. We always tell people to "Buy low & Sell high", so I reckon we should stay with that strategy.

Bitcoin adoption is growing slowly day by day and more merchants are accepting Bitcoin than any other Crypto currency out there, so this alone should be the motivation to buy back in at the low end. ^smile^

Yep! Still a buy. Use the recent setbacks to our advantage. Think of it as a blessing in disguise. It gave us more time to raise more funds to buy more bitcoins before the start of the next bull run.

Bitcoin is still the most used and popular among people on the internet. We know that even if bitcoin going down,it will rise again,we just have to wait and buy when we got more money.Patience is the key to success,so don't lose hope and wait till you can grab your profit.

Bitcoin prices have remained stagnant between $7,000 and $8,000 for the last week, not recovering from price highs of $19,500 in mid-December. The almost 50-percent drop in value has some market experts worried that the bitcoin bubble may have burst for good.  But the falling prices were incredibly healthy for the ecosystem. Weak holder shake out for not analyzing that they can still get back their recent loss, They shouldn't panic when coin drops 50 percent.. Understand the volatile nature of digital currency. These things can move 20 percent to 30 percent in a day. Perhaps this is the best time signal to buy more bitcoin.

Indeed, we should still buy instead of panic selling so we can contribute and help bitcoin to rise again despite of the losses. My prediction is that bitcoin will be stable around 7 - 8 k , it will not go down any further because of the support, it is a chance to buy in low price, because it's predicted that bitcoin will bounce back reach the $19 k again.

This is obvious. Bitcoin has never lost its popularity despite of the price falls. It is certainly the best crypto and people will certainly grab the chance of buying it as the price is lower now.

according to the news at CNBC here is why:
the coin has seen better days.

Well it's perdonal opinion and we respect it. but if you are a bitcoin believer like me current price is a good entry price if bitcoin surge to almost 20k$ last december there is no reason why it can't surpass it now considering more and more people are getting interest to invest in bitcoin.

despite of all losses bitcoin still a buy  in the market because,in terms of price  value  and popularazation bitcoin is still the best and rank no 1 coin in crypto market  otherwise even due bitcoin value is still going down, the others coins also affected and all will turn to red zone and i thinks that they carried away  because of loosening of bitcoin price , therefore i conclude  that bitcoin is mainstream of all coins in the cryptocurrency because if its dump all carried over and if its pump all crypto coins  will become profitable.

yes i agree, bitcoin is still a buy and very worth it to buy. many negative people or  bitter people are just causing this FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt, usually evoked intentionally in order to put a competitor at a disadvantage.) Despite the recent cryptocurrency massacres causing Bitcoin and altcoin prices to decline, Bitcoin, along with other cryptocurrencies, are poised to recover with rumors of its price potentially reaching $10,000. Throughout economic history, potential bubbles have been the result of overinvestment and hype. When such crashes happen, unexpected outcomes may occur. There can only be a few people who have loaded up in the electronic currency and doubled their money before such a burst. In 2013, when Bitcoin price crashed, early Bitcoin investors had gained up to three times their initial investment. In the past few months, the price increase has reached up to 87 percent.

Bitcoin price has surged to $2,800 due to various factors, including the acceptance of cryptocurrency as a legal mode of payment, a stable growth in terms of international remittance services, among others.

Many have adopted Bitcoin as their mode of payment and it is already accepted by regulators as a legitimate way of investing. With its various potential consumer uses, Bitcoin may potentially become a mainstream asset. In fact, in some countries like Japan, Bitcoin is legally accepted as a method of payment.

The bitcoin still buys because it has a strict reason, because the bitcoin is spinning, so if the bitcoin stops then the user will stop too. if the bitcoin also stops then bitcoin has been considered dead.

what losses? price?
when bitcoin price is dropping, there are always 2 opposite views on it
one views it as a potential loss in investment, starts feeling anxious and even panic selling
the other views it as an opportunity to buy cheap bitcoin,
adds more BTC into current portfolio or starts initial investment (for new investor)
which side are you on?

It's mainly because of bitcoin's previous successful performance and the profits it has delivered to its holders.Bitcoin has seen lots of price fluctuations earlier and it has not disappointed its investors except newbies who sell in panic.

Everyone knows what you're saying, but in reality there are some who dare risk money to buy risky coins and no commitment to collapse. But they still buy, they take risks, it is a good thing that BTC has brought to many people, they are really an ideal market to invest without depending on any side.

Bogard has the same sentiment as mine, coins like TRX are overpromising their holders through partnerships and now with their mainnet launching.

Bitcoin on a cheaper price is actually a buy and it's the main attraction in the crypto market so there's not a question anymore. You've seen it reached it's all time high and now it's quite cheaper so why you will not consider it as a buy right?

I don't like all these people telling others to buy bitcoin now. it is not doing anybody any good.
I believe that we are not at the bottom yet and price may fall more and when you keep telling newbies to buy we may end up seeing another big wave of panic sellers who mess everything up again.
just let the market find its bottom and things to calm down with the whales and  their hungry bellies and then jump back in again. it will happen soon and you need to be vigilant when it happens but there is a good chance that going in too soon is not going to end that well.

True, let those people decide for themselves. Buying bitcoin is risky unless you have something to do with it other than for investment purposes.

In my personal opinion, it's a failed investment. Because investors did not identify the bottom of Bitcoin, they kept buying even though the market was down. It is an inexperienced investment. Although Bitcoin's price is quite cheap at the moment, I still do not buy and I still wait for the bottom. why? Because I know the market is changing, I have to analyze and redirect to fit the trend. I think the market is still down, I still wait for the bottom price of Bitcoin at $ 6k8.

This will continue to happen where there will be many people who sell and many people who buy. bitcoin has become a big market. billions of dollars spin in the bitcoin market. although the price declines the market will continue to do activity. because many people will buy for some reason "as the price decreases is the right time to buy" so demand will continue to exist until whenever

according to the news at CNBC here is why:
the coin has seen better days.

I honestly believe that people still believes that Bitcoin is going up and price will eventually go up.

Many traders already knows the bottom and they already know that most likely the price will not go below The $6,000 support area.

Bitcoin is still in the growing stage where the price is still very volatile. So investing is a very good option but this is a long term investment and not a instant millionaire kind of thing. If you have patience and have the extra money then i say yes to bitcoin investment

Yes, definitely. If you compare with other commerce institutes, bitcoin is still very new and used by less than 1% of the world's population. There is lots of space to grow so I will probably still buy despite recent dips.

I think the basics of bitcoin will remain strong and a popular online site all over the country. but the key to all is for a Lightning Network so that it can be implemented more within a network and to prove itself to be made for future climbers.

Bitcoin has the potential to increase and reach the ath of 20K at the end of the year, some people think it could even get much higher. So buying now at $7000 or lower, could be very profitable. Bitcoin is growing in popularity and big name investors are involved.

Bitcoin is still higher if you compare it to its price several years ago buy it already a good buy because bitcoin may bounce back soon. Losses are always part of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and it is not all gains because of their volatility. Bitcoin dips give us the opportunity to buy cheaper bitcoin and also prevent the coin from falling into bubble.

Despite the fact that bitcoint price declined for a reason i still believe bitcoint will be able yo bounce back on track.and this is the right time to buy. bitcoint will grow more stronger as long as many people believe.  best time to invest is now while still low..

Bitcoin is one of the most bounceable investments ever created. People are mad about it because of its advancement and use, so no need to worry about losses, I agree. Buy and hold strategy still works out well.

Though bitcoin is still on a dump state and is having a hard time recovering which is clearly visible because of small fluctuations, it still gain investors. Dump price is a good starting point for investors so don't be confused and bothered why bitcoin is still popular and is a buy event at this current state. Might as well feel happy for this because it shows how strong bitcoin stands in the market.

Well look at the bigger picture. Check the charts from 2010 and you'll see that the road btc is taking is not so bad even after plunging more than 50% from it's all time high. And it shows that bitcoin is well on its way upwards, perhaps just not at the pace many people are expecting

Bitcoin is still the best cryptocurrency even if the price had been slashed by 50% since December 2017. This is the best time to enter the market and buy bitcoin in a cheaper price. Sooner this will create momentum and returns the price to a new all time high that will give us a good profits.

Well, I don’t know that market is when going to increase but definitely I would like to concur with you in this regard that this is the perfect entrance for those who gave up on bitcoin at high rates due to panic selling. Bitcoin is the one which definitely when increases in prices, gives everyone big shocks. I also pondering over grabbing few more bitcoin to make my future secured. I don’t think so bitcoin will remain same.

I agree on what Bogart said that bitcoin is still a buy and this is the right time to buy more bitcoin while the price is still cheaper, holding this currency will give us more profits in the future as what they predicted that this will be expensive as lambo.

If you buy Bitcoin with the expectation of 'securing' your future, then it can only end up in a big disappointment. Don't get me wrong, Bitcoin will definitely increase in value throughout the years, but maybe not in the way you think it will help you become financially secured. This market might look calm right now, but if it tanks hard from current levels, you'll definitely regret having bought. Only when you give up on the fiat aspect of Bitcoin you'll be able to make it, but not many people are able to do that. It requires also a high level of understanding of what Bitcoin is and how you think it's going to play an important role in the future....

First of all, bitcoin is just on its low price and will soar high agin some time. We find it normal and wait to the right time of selling. Next is that, bitcoin has been a part of the people not only by an investment but also to be used as a real currency for those countries who have developed it.

A good thinking and having a positivity for the incoming will be an encouraging acts, even though we don't get a 100% assurance of getting that but it surely there is something we might have(gains). Of what happen to bitcoin price right now seems to be just normal and we can do is to keep on believing.

Over 40% of the current bitcoin holders buy they bitcoin above $10,000 and those people may not going to sell below the cost price.  Many people have seeing the current bearish trend as an opportunity to buy bitcoin at cheap price and now provide us with another opportunity to buy bitcoin at cheap price as in some months to come we are going to see another upwards movement.

Many of those who overpaid last year are now eager to buy more, so to balance their virtual losses. It's great buy for current price. 10-12k more than real this year, so even 20% in just half a year is a significant profit for me

You will only lose a huge amount of capital if you are not well knowledgeable about how the market works and that is the reason why most of the traders today are losing a huge amount of investment.

Of course you should be buying bitcoin right now, it does not matter what it does if it begins to go up or down or if it remains at its current price, the price we are seeing is very low compared to the all time high, this is similar to what happened when bitcoin crashed after reaching 1200 some years ago and then the price reached a price below 200 that was the moment to hoard bitcoin and even if the price is higher right now this is the moment to hoard bitcoin once again.
