Title: Should BTC rise for the World Cup?
Post by: enendad on June 11, 2018, 07:45:19 AM
In three days, the 2018 World Cup will be kicked off. This is exciting. This means that there will be a large portion of people who make money on gambling. This is a fortunate World Cup. Because they have cryptocurrencies, I think that BTC will increase the trading volume during some of the World Cup because of the amount of gambling, so the price will be raised. I hope so. ! Welcome to discuss!

I don't think bitcoin has anything to do with the World Cup.
Because there are many specialized gambling altcoin, there is no need for bitcoin.

I asked this question: When setting up a betting trading platform, is it easier for BTC to win the trust with participants or the tokens of the platform? I think it is BTC because more players will first choose to hold it, and secondly whether it will consider whether Buying its tokens, I think this is a regular judgment, of course, this is just my opinion.

No dependencies. All betting is possible by fiat and without BTC price growth. I think BTC price will not change because of 2018 WC. Maybe some alts as Wgr or same can to be more expensive but that's all

Not sure about that, I think that will not give any impact to the cryptocurrency especially for bitcoin. Gambling can't give large of adoption to the bitcoin itself.
There is a lot of altcoin that can be used as alternative too especially to the privacy coin that gives a lot of chance to be untraced.

Under normal conditions the prices of Bitcoin and altcoin are suppose to rise during the world cup festival in Russia because there are going to be more activities that will make use of cryptocurrency.  No doubt gambling and betting activities are going to skyrocket very soon during the world.

With the current situation in the market, the price can definitely rise during the world cup, but maybe it won't be directly for that reason but due to the market crash yesterday. The market need to fix itself in the coming days/weeks so it may happen during the whole WC, but that doesn't mean the it's a direct result of the betting. You should consider things from all perspectives and not see thing just black and white, as there is a lot of grey in the crypto world.

I think your analysis makes sense. It seems that whether BTC will be "abandoned" by people gradually. What I want to say is that in the future cryptocurrency, there will be more tokens doing better. Does this cause panic to those who hold BTC!

I think that it is possible. Gamblers won't set thier and just miss this big event. It may increase the volume of BTC by folds if some millionaire will join on same gambling platforms which use BTC as the form of payment. Lets just expect positive things to turn out.

During the World Cup 2018 session, so many organizations will accept BTC as payment option. As a result, a flow or demand will be generated at that time. From this point, I think there is a high chance of BTC price rising on that time.

Only Bet and gamblers will be active, otherwise many people will be inactive for the world cup. So, overall I think bitcoin price will down for the world cup, and maybe it started, BTC is now under 7K USD Already

I do not really expect the world cup event to affect bitcoin or altcoin, because if you look at the price of coins now that even showed a significant decline. As we know the world cup event will be rolling around in a few moments.

I think the relationship between them is not great. The most important thing now is whether the main network of eos can be started normally and then run well. This determines the effect of other projects going online after the main network. People are all looking at it. If the first fails, confidence will be gone.

I am opening today's reports on the cost of the first coin, and I understand that the current decline does not have a clear reason at all. But how can we see the situation is folded so that the course will fall, and this puts pressure on all other coins. I, like most people on the forum, do not have a clear strategy on what to do now and how long the fall will be, all that remains is to hope for growth in 3-6 months.

if theres a way to bet in world cup using bitcoin, I think yes. because the demand of betting in world cup using bitcoin will surely increase and the value of bitcoin itself will also increase. but to affect the price of bitcoin in the market just because of world cup will not, as long as there is no related between bitcoin and world cup, like I said if there's a way to make bet in a team in world cup using bitcoin, there will be a little movement in the demand of bitcoin in the market.

But is this demand increase enough to make the market bullish and put a brake on BTC's downward move, we should wait and see.

I must clarify the fact that the value of Bitcoin does not depend on its commercial use. some people who  do not believe in the value of Bitcoin will not use Bitcoin to gamble. You are willing to use Bitcoin to gamble because you think Bitcoin is a valuable thing, not because it can be used for gambling.

After the price of bitcoin collapsed by $ 1000, I would be glad for any occasion for growth.
But the World Cup will not be able to give any leap for the price increase. Correctly written here about the stakes. I myself watch the platforms that offer bookmaking services. I never did this using the blockchain. In this industry, I think there will be many who wish.

Maybe bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will sour during World cup, It means that bitcoin has capibility of increasing. Because as you know, bitcoin is being grown in popularity, thus the demand for using bitcoin for gambling in World cup season will highly occur. Especially, it probably attracts big cryptocurrency community gather to gamble and the bitcoin transaction will be prone to increase. On a whole, bitcoin value may go up in this FiFa World cup  2018.

Its not necessary for bitcoin to rise for this kind of event but I think if its really accepted as mode of payment I think the price may still not be affected so much because not everyone are using bitcoin so technically the price will still remain on the same position. I still hope for a strong news to boost the market up again.

I don't think that the WC will be a significant market influence, but I think that there won't be enough gambling for the Bitcoin community to be impacted significantly by it. I would be a bit more convinced if there was a pre-buy going on for betting, and there was a slight rise in the market, but I guess we're waiting on people to start losing money before they buy any more, eh?

Who must initiate such movement to make Bitcoin popularized in a big event like this? For me, we should be the one who must initiates the adaptation of cryptocurrency in World Cup or someone in the board in World Cup Association will integrate a betting option for this currency online. This is possible if more people will demand such upgrades in this tournament.

I don't think there's a direct link between the two, because bitcoin is now rarely used for gambling and the market is in a downward trend, so I don't think there's a correlation.

This is quite true, bitcoin might increase in price during the world cup because many people will use bitcoin to pay for ticket to watch the matches. Also those people doing predictions about the results of the games will use bitcoin so the trading volume will increase tremendously. As bitcoins increase so also others altcoins.

I would rather hold my bitcoin, and choose a gambling-specialize altcoin for betting, that is more convenient I guess. And besides, some gambler would probably choose a fiat over a volatile cryptocurrency, especially US Dollar. Don't you think so?

I disagree. Bitcoin has nothing to do with world cup. Bets from a single individual will not make that much of a difference. It is expected that bitcoin will rise anytime but don't think that its because of the world cup. Bitcoin transactions will always be high especially after the drop on price.

What I am aware of is that there are alternate coins that will be used for World Cup (ASTORGAME).  You can place your bets on this site https://astorbets.com/.

Mainly for gambling, if people around that event will use crypto instead of fiat money coming from particular game house, it will bring good impact to bitcoin value, the more gamblers that will use this channel the better lift it can bring to bitcoin and crypto community, I do believe that it can have that impact but not that much, the season will end and not gambling alone but real adoption should take place for us to see the value to really rise high with
our expectations.

No, it won't rise because of some sporting event that people bet on. I'm sure it's big for the bookies and other websites that do cryptocurrency betting but the actual market won't be effected unless there is some advertisement during very popular games, which in that case it would be really good publicity.

You are partially right, Bitcoin price fluctuation is depends on demand that means some regulations is major role in price variation but many gambling sites are accepting the Crypto bet so Bitcoin and altcoins are using the gambling. Some sites are convert to mBTC so compare to BTC 3 times lesser value and casino is the best place to earn   more BTC so world cup  is not a big impact in crypto market.

in my opinion, if it's a soccer theme, I really hope there's a coin like a Football coin if a soccer coin is accepted as a transaction tool in this year's world cup. The bike has the ability to improve. Because as you know, bitcoin is growing in popularity, so the demand to use bitcoin for gambling in the world cup season will be very frequent. In particular, it may attract large cryptocurrency communities gathered to gamble and bitcoin transactions will tend to increase.

Because there are many specialized gambling altcoin, there is no need for bitcoin.
Hi, I also agree with you. Because bitcoin is a unique one. It has nothing to do with the world cup. Only Altcoin which is created for gambling may have a good perspective.
Because the demand for altcoin for gambling will raise on those days.
Thanks. :) ;)

I don't really see the correlation and honestly, the gambling market in crypto is tiny compared to that of FIAT. I don't see much change in Bitcoin and other currencies during 2018 I think unfortunately that this year is going to be sideways trading pretty much.
there is no correlation at all. it will not give any impact to the bitcoin. World cup is nothing. Bitcoin needs something big to bring itself to the high daily trade volume again. and i believe about that if the daily trade volume of bitcoin will always stay at the bottom and there is no reason the price of bitcoin to be increased. Gambling doesn't give any impact to the bitcoin

The price of bitcoin cannot start rising for no reason. Now users of cryptocurrencies are not ready to sell their coins at low prices. On the other hand, potential buyers are afraid to buy because of the uncertainty with the price. The market froze in anticipation. After the speculators leave the exchanges, the price will begin to grow. But who knows how many coins they intend to buy.

Not even just knowing for this Event to come we can still answer this question with confidence because gambling industry or any events can really put a major impact on bitcoins price. Demand wont really be just enough for us to consider on what would possibly happen.Lets say there are people who do made lots of bets but it cant really make the price up. The true thing which can affect bitcoins price is the demand and full adoption. It do takes time and theres no need to rush.

Under normal conditions the prices of Bitcoin and altcoin are suppose to rise during the world cup festival in Russia because there are going to be more activities that will make use of cryptocurrency.  No doubt gambling and betting activities are going to skyrocket very soon during the world.
Actually there is relation betwen world cup and bitcoin. What do you said to be used cryptocurrency? Nothing.
Most of the people go to Russia not bring their cryptocurrency but brimg credit card. So no relation betwen those 2 things.
