Are there many out there, with an active community of users/holders but without the core team anymore. How would you propose funding development if the main team are gone?

but to fund it is another question, if it's community driven (initially atleast), it could be enough to move the price up and in that way it could then be used to fund continued development from a smaller team (the best of the community)? Sounds easier to start from scratch.
There was this discussion with Paycoin (XPY) back in the day and no one could give any good reason, yet there was an attempt to resuscitate it. A year later it predictably failed. So wouldn't that be like buying worthless coins at a much higher price? The people trying to revive the coin will be at a disadvantage, while those who were already holding are the only ones benefiting.

A year later it predictably failed. They would have to fork, not simply take over. Also, the community would need to be "transferred" to new telegram, twitter, web, facebook, ... accounts. Especially the ex-ICO projects, now dead, were really scams in the first place.
My advice would be to start a new coin (sigh) that has real life adoption in its timetable..... |
