Title: South Korea Opens Doors for Cryptocurrency

Before this time, almost Korean investors really worried about new tax policy for cryptocurrency.

Also they said we feel hard to say it will happen within this year and although will happen this year, there will be 1~2years stay period.

I believe in a year or two we will see the whole world moving in the same direction regarding bitcoin. most of the countries will start off by calling bitcoin things like "commodity" and then setting taxes like this, sometimes higher than it should be and some other countries will see its true nature and see it as a "currency".
in the end the best way is to take taxes from the investors on exchanges and remove taxes from it for those who use it as a currency. basically something like Japan with a lower tax.

I hope this will make bitcoin prices skyrocket again if more countries allow bitcoin, eat more investors to invest in it, automatically if the number of investors increases then the price will immediately move up, and this will provide benefits for investors because the price difference buying and selling price

The fact that government is applying taxes on cryptocurrencies means that they will realize it will be like gold and other investment property so this is a good thing and 10-15% is something that's acceptable because there are countries where the government is thinking of applying even more tax. It's anyways better than banning them.
Also South Korea is already a large hub for Bitcoins and government will gain profit through this " lots of profit " this way it will be a win win situation for both of them.

Fair amount of taxes will attract more investors towards it and many other governments also need to follow the fair taxation system for the crypto earnings then only more people will get interested to do this and the governments can make more revenue.

And I hope this kind of news will bring some upward movements in the bitcoin prices in the coming weeks. :)

Then this is good cutting the percentage of tax that cryptocurrency traders/investors will pay instead of paying 40% which is ridiculous. But I don't see that any moment right now that korean investors will enter the market because of the recent problem that their local exchange had been hacked and losing millions of dollars and chances that many people may lose their trust on that exchange but not a serious problem since there are lots of exchange to use. But I can see in long term, if koreans will trade or invest again in cryptocurrency market then we can expect a new bull run because we all know that large volume of trades came from korea last year.

I wonder how you can calculate the amount of tax on cryptocurrencies? They have constant volatility. This is possible for legal entities that maintain accounting records. But for individuals it will be a problem. But I am wary of such news in any case. Regulation of cryptocurrencies can scare off large investors and bitcoin will lose most of its capitalization. Maybe it's happening now.

it's good that crypto will get regulated, but the problem is that there is a tax on it. For trading that might work just fine, but shold it be used as a currency, that will be a problem.

This means that they trusted the butcoin technology and believe that the system has a big future in the world. Maybe one day, other countires will also decide on allowing bitcoin to enter their government.

It should have been free. But for the sake of their own greedy needs it will be given.

So what is the deal? They will take taxes from crypto investors in what exchange? Will they work harder if an exchange suddenly get hacked again?

Looks like they made some move after helping to solve coinrail problem.

Very good news from South Korea. Two recent news that from their exchanges and exchangers were abducted about 40 and 30 million dollars in the crypto currency were extremely bad. The introduction of a 10-15 percent profit tax on crypto currency is one of the lowest in the world. Apparently, the government of this country is betting on mass character and this is very correct. A high tax would drive the crypto currency into the shadow, because it is very poorly tracked. I hope that bitcoin will go up after this.

Yes, I agree.  This is the beginning for the development of the crypto currency not only for them.  All countries should establish such low taxes, until the crypto currency is a national currency.

Great news. Hope it is begining of world mass adoption that Will cause linear (not parabolic) growth in nearest future)

Unfortunately i can not find a Link, but i've read that some kind of EU soviet (smth like that ::)) wanted all its countries to have a crypto regulating laws not later than in 18 month. So looks like we have not much time before enormous money Flow going into crypto market. It's awesome :D

One more question mantioned above is how they Will take taxes from crypto? I understand how to do it on centralized exchanges, and what about dex and others p2p options? The only way i see is enforsed kyc procedure, when registering a wallet, but it surely Will be services to do it incognito)
Or may be they Will Just watch for All crypto and Fiat transactions in the country... I hope for now it is quiet impossible, but i'm not sure..

And the other side of taxing is volatility.. And here i see two ways again: tax withdrowals from exchanges and take No taxes from users as currency. Or they can take their fees in btc and start making government btc reserve like gold reserve)

I partially agree with you, Profits and taxes should be taken from investors trading on the exchange of currencies. Conventional holders for purses should not be touched. Naturally, the exchanges will be registered in countries where there will be zero taxes on their activities. For example, as it did exchange Binance. She moved from Japan to Malta.

And it can help for the betterment of crypto market because surely the demand will be high amd more opportunities will be coming here in crypto world.

Yes , I think the same. Most of the countires will start accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency as good, assets or commodities etc.. and tax it accordingly. I have already heard that India is planning on to treat cryptocurrencies as good and tax it accordingly for buy and sell.
If all countries start doing the same then cryptocurrencies will be accepted as payments in many countries and may be then the market will be going green.

South Korea is a country who plays a vital role in world economy and politics at this time. Now they introduce bitcoin to their country people. They not only introduce but also set a reasonable tax on it. Country people accept this decision positively. I think this decision lead other country to accept and set this type of tax policy for bitcoin. I think within a few years most of the country which play a vital role in world economy an world politics will accept bitcoin and set a reasonable tax on it.

This news is not yet confirmed and thus it is very suspicious in nature. According to some websites, this news is fake and South Korea is not planning to levy any tax on cryptocurrencies.

* South Korea denies report of capital gains tax on cryptocurrencies (https://www.forexlive.com/cryptocurrency/!/south-korea-denies-report-of-capital-gains-tax-on-cryptocurrencies-report-20180622).

* South Korea: Reports of 10% Tax on Cryptocurrency Gains Are Fake (https://bitcoinist.com/south-korea-denies-tax-cryptocurrency/).

We have seen such thing happening with the name of India too but that was also the fake news planted in the market for some unknown reasons. In fact, government and the central bank have instructed banks to stop giving services to the exchanges involved in cryptocurrencies and the deadline is within a month.

Exactly, it’s such a great news not only Korean but also other countries. Because when a country accept bitcoin, it would be much more likely to make others accept cryptocurrency, also it pave a way for digital currency to develop considerably. Gradually, cryptocurrencies are perhaps accepted in the most parts of the world. In fact, when  governments accept bitcoin, they definitely find out a huge benefits that they can exploit from bitcoin. Evidently the tax is quite high but anyway it’s better than imposing a ban on bitcoin. Congratulation to korean investors!

Before this time, almost Korean investors really worried about new tax policy for cryptocurrency.
That's why all news said the government will apply 3~40%taxes for crypto at Jul~Aug.
But today, the government said we will apply 10~15%taxes for crypto like interest income tax, and it is very acceptable to all Korean investors.
Also they said we feel hard to say it will happen within this year and although will happen this year, there will be 1~2years stay period.

In conclusion, Crypto is accepted by government's legal property, SO MANY KOREAN INVESTORS WILL GET INTO MARKET AGAIN!

That is pretty good news I guess. If they were seriously going to enforce something like up to 40% taxes on crypto that would be absolutely insane and almost certainly do a good job of killing a lot of the legitimate demand. It would probably drive a lot of people to try to evade paying any taxes on crypto at all I'd guess.

South Korea set up a task force including private experts to increase the transparency of cryptocurrency trading and establish a healthy trading order. The government should also consider forming new committees and establishing a system of government at the level as an effort to systematically establish a blockchain policy and efficiently provide industry support. South Korea will also form the legal basis for trading crypto currencies, including permits from ICO, through the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. Surely this is good news, and the real evidence of the development of digital technology will soon be visible and also felt.

I really doubt that. The South Korean government policies regarding crypto-currencies changed every two hours or so during the beginning of this year. And that caused a lot of chaos in the exchanges. A lot of investors lost their money due to their ever-changing stance. I really doubt whether the South Korean users will feel confident with the government policies now.

Hope huge country like China will also do the same thing as South Korea. They see cryptocurrencies as good investment. South Korea soon to be the cryptocurrency haven just like Japan. Imposing 10%-15% on trading tax is not bad. Atleast their government is not thinking about prohibition of usage and trading cryptocurrency at their territory. Philippines is known to be a crypto friendly country too. People are just not properly educated about it. Also they've already got an local exchange there. So if the government is optimistic about it. Im sure this country will be known to be crypto haven too. At last, we a good news today. I hope there's more to come.

These are signs that the world is slowly adapting to crypto currencies. Most of the countries are already treating btcoins as a means of exchange and are treating it as commodity. When a developed country starts using bitcoins, it means that bitcoins will replace tangible currencies in the future soon.

We can just imagine that but not necessary that will happen surely. In India the current situation is far stressed out where July 1st and 5th are the final days of the Indian crypto adventure. The RBI (Reserve Bank of India) has declared war against the crypto currency and have stated that they wont be accepting any crypto-rupees (INR) conversion and thus left Indians in the sinking ship.

But, previously Government did stated they will be applying 28% Taxes on the crypto earnings. However, that went into the thin air and instead of that country came with ban against it!

Apart from this, they will also make their very own centralized cryptocurrency. That will be regulated by their country's economic sector. Rumors say that the coin will be called "S coin" and they plan to develop it to the point that it can be used for micro-transactions, much like what bitcoin is originally intended to be, except it is primarily enclosed in their country.

Countries like South Korea and Japan have always embraced advanced technologies, and look how they are now --they're the epitome of modern, streamlined and efficient urban cities. They're intelligent enough to know what bitcoin and blockchain have to offer and so they're welcoming it with open arms. This is huge for bitcoin.
Actually, there is a big possibility that bitcoin will be accepted in all countries. I think open doors for cryptocurrnecy will help the country of South Korea to grown their economy and I think it has a positive effect in their industry because they will adopt it. I also believe that bitcoin and all countries will open their doors for cryptocurrency.

Issues related to cryptocurrency when it comes to South Korea has a big impact in the price of bitcoin. When they ban ICOs, price of bitcoin went down and now there is positive news about taxes that would encourage more people to invest on it. Hoping that other countries would follow suit too in welcoming cryptocurrencies. Instead of banning it, they should just tax the people earning from it and they can also benefit too because their funds would increase. They just have to make applicable regulations to prevent the things they are afraid of from happening.

Also they said we feel hard to say it will happen within this year and although will happen this year, there will be 1~2years stay period.

http://news.naver.com/main/read.nhn?mode=LSD&mid=sec&oid=023&aid=0003382087&sid1=001&lfrom=kakao

In conclusion, Crypto is accepted by government's legal property, SO MANY KOREAN INVESTORS WILL GET INTO MARKET AGAIN!

I think the government ban would not have much impact on the Crypto market. In my country, the government has banned Bitcoin but we are still working very well. We did not encounter any obstacles and could transfer altcoin to our normal currency. So many Korean investors are still active if their country bans. ;D

Paying taxes is acceptable. If the korea paying taxes investing in cryptocurrency it is good because the government want to legluze crypto to their country and no problems will happen between the government and the investor. It is good because the korea will invest more of their money to cryptocurrency.

This is great news because the 3%- 40% is really a big number specially if they decided to tax it in around the high 30%. With the 10%-15% it is attractive because it is a more specific number, which is actually an acceptable number if you are going to pay tax. This will make Koreans interested again in to the crypto currency market which will surely affect it positively.

It's always great to know that some of the advanced countries such as Japan and South Korea are welcoming bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general and so we should take advantage of such news to increase and grow our investment so that at the appropriate times we might be able to reap from our contributions.

I agree with you that, in the next many years all countries in the whole world will open the door for cryptocurrency especially bitcoin and etheruem because this two are the solid coins. Actually, South Korea people already adopt the using of cryptocurrency and I hope their government will not against it so that they could use cryptocurrency freely.

If you are right then it indicates that South Korean government has realized that they cannot stop people from using crypto currency and people will always find a way of using crypto currency. I don't have any issue for the laws that are placed by the government as it will allow its citizens to freely hold and use crypto currency. Introduction of regulations is best solution for everyone then imposing a ban on that service.

It is because cryptocurrencies are now unstoppable and one of the reason why other Asian countries are doing the same. If they will not open their doors for cryptocurrency or if they will not adopt it as soon as possible then they will get left behind of this growing industry of cryptocurrency and that is the reason of south korea for adopting it.

As good citizens it is obligatory for us to pay income taxes to assist the government in terms of infrastructure development, applying 10 ~ 15% taxes for crypts such as interest income taxes, making investors calm in running the crypto business in the country. We considered the government when we talk about the acceptance of one country to bitcoin, but as we all know bitcoin is a thing that people loves to use. The government really wanted to take charge in everything that is going on, because they wanted to control and have power to it. But it will be a very good thing for bitcoin if the government accepted it, because more people wanted to do legal ways so this will probably boost the users of bitcoin.

On the off chance that you are correct then it shows that South Korean government has understood that they can't prevent individuals from utilizing digital currency and individuals will dependably discover a method for utilizing crypto. I don't have any issue for the laws that are put by the legislature as it will enable its subjects to uninhibitedly hold and utilize crypto currency. That is a decent and helpful news money

This is another achievement for the bitcoin. In which another country accepted it legally. Bitcoin really is moving forward. With this as bitcoin continusly made a name in the market, it will have a positive effect on the investors. All we can donis to wait. Because bitcoin's population is growing. South Korea has become a big center for Bitcoin and the government will benefit through this "tax giving" this way will be a win win situation for both.
The government imposes a tax on cryptocurrency means that they will realize it will be like gold and other investment properties so this is a good thing and 10-15% is something that is acceptable because there are countries where the government thinks of applying even more taxes . Besides, it's better than forbidding them. Indirectly the government has provided legalization for cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency is an internet-based digital currency system. Without that, it won't work. Therefore digital telecommunications is advancing very rapidly. I dont think that majority of the countries will ban bitcoin, there were only few countries who have done this. Government are now starting to recognized the use of bitcoin as a form of payment and asset. Bitcoin will only be ban once it become a threat to government, this would become threat once people use it on illegal activities.

The only risk with your wealth is once people stop from using bitcoin. But that would be impossible, instead the opposite happens. The continuously rising and demand increase while supply in limited. I assume that you have big amount of bitcoin for now since you have been saving since 2013. Just avoid lossing your password and suddenly got hacked. That would be the worst thing to happen.

According to information from the government, the Ministry of Justice unilaterally makes this plan without the relevant departments of the government. The Finance Ministry immediately declared not to support the bill.
The government has asked the Ministry of Justice to publicly apologize to the people, and no disciplinary action or reprimand will ever apply.

I think, South Korea and North Korea disagree with one another, even though they are both Korean. especially now that the development of crypto is also declining. So the Korean country also needs to be aware of problems like this.

The only way it can work is when you can convert to fiat.No point in declaring profits than a  month late you could be in a loss.

No more hesitation for the Korean investors to invest in this digital currency market except this many more new investors will be coming into this area after being legalized cryptocurrency in South Korea. Applying taxes 10-15% is not a big deal to the crypto dealers but the big deal is now it's legal to trade. So that day is not a long way to be legalized cryptocurrency all over the world and will be a free trade zone for all crypto investors.

In a sense, South Korea is the place where the main potential for the cryptocurrency industry is concentrated. Since the region is a trading center for all currencies, it has a great influence on the industry as a whole. Any regulatory decision taken in this country affects the entire industry, both positively and negatively. In the end, South Korea became a new center of cryptocurrency trading and speculation. This is good news for South Korean’s people and all investors of bitcoin all over the world. I think this is a big move for the Korean government. I believe someday all countries will begin to open their doors for the cryptocurrency. I hope this will help the market to recover again.
The transition to cryptocurrency is progress for the governments of the countries positively accepting Bitcoin. It means to get an independence  on the dollar printing machin USA and the control in the politics and economy of the country by the more powerful player countries in geopolitics.

South Korea accepts technological advances by applying it openly in the community, meaning that the government facilitates legislation so that cryptocurrency can be used freely without intimidation or fear that it is against the law.

If an open country with crypto currency is increasing. With the increasing number of open countries with crypto currencies, the future of crypto currencies looks brighter. South Korea as one of the developed countries will have a positive influence on other countries to be open with crypto currencies as well. I consider that a country that is open and gives legal status with crypto currency means that the country is aware of technological developments and advancements. Besides that, in the future, we will definitely need crypto currencies because there are some limitations that we cannot do quickly if we only rely on fiat currencies. It is undeniable that crypto currency transactions are fast, easy and inexpensive so that it is time for all countries to realize this advantage.

Also they said we feel hard to say it will happen within this year and although will happen this year, there will be 1~2years stay period.

http://news.naver.com/main/read.nhn?mode=LSD&mid=sec&oid=023&aid=0003382087&sid1=001&lfrom=kakao

In conclusion, Crypto is accepted by government's legal property, SO MANY KOREAN INVESTORS WILL GET INTO MARKET AGAIN!

Applying tax for 10-15% will be hard for me because the more you have crypto, the more you pay tax.
And why did you think many korean investors will get into crypto market ? They will have to pay 10-15% from their crypto asset.
Government should not applying tax too much in our assets.

The government attitude towards Bitcoin in South Korea is not a consistent one. It changes every week or so. And some observers say that the politicians propose certain policies and regulations, so that their proxies could do insider trading and profit out of it.

The decision of the South Korea government to impose a tax rate on the cryptocurrencies seems to be a good measure because the taxes will be destined for the well-being of its citizens and will improve the investments of the country. In this way, South Korea will be a country model of how it adopts cryptocurrencies and they will gain greater confidence around the world.

The tax rate is still too high, South Korea economy is not so good now but I think 10-15% for tax is too high. In my opinion the ideal rate for the taxation is  about 1-2,5%. things like this have been predicted, if we see Japan in America and other developed countries opening up to bitcoin then the effects of South Korea follow in the footsteps of other developed countries so we can see things like we often hear, other countries are sure will follow so we must always think positively, things like this will always raise the price of bitcoin and make the position of bitcoin stronger ...

The big question is whether their stance can be trusted or not. In the past, the South Korean government had made so many u-turns regarding its crypto regulation policy. At least on two occasions, this crashed the exchange prices in the exchanges.

The opening of the doors to cryptocurrency is a good action but applying  higher tax rates may not be so beneficial to the investors and maybe to products where the coins are used because it will certainly add to their prices or values. There must be better opportunities for investments to allow more investors to come in and the use of cryptocurrency will be best appreciated by businessmen and clients. This scenario might just be able to solve the bearish market that we have.

South Korea should try to learn something from their neighbors, Japan. The latter was among the first to legalize Bitcoin and they benefited from it in the form of increased tax revenues and new job creation.

That's a great news and besides year ago south korea doesn't accept bitcoin in fact their country is not interested on cryptocurrency so far, but now they open doors to bitcoin and cryotocurrency. Every crypto enthusiast hopes that all country around the world would accept cryptocurrency as a whole. Because it can also give a good impact to bitcoin and altcoins in the market.

Soon, we will see that many more countries open their doors to the cryptocurrencies. People want to deal with the blockchain as they understand that these are the technologies of our future.

Now the South Korean financial regulator is reorganizing so it can "proactively respond to financial innovation in the fourth industrial revolution era" — meaning it's looking to nurture bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and blockchain. I think some of the countries are now embracing the blockchain or the cryptocurrency because they are studying what are those benefits they can get from it. Eighter for them or for their countrymen. They will not be going to regulate those things if they can't have any benefits they will get from it. Business is still business.

The largest financial institution in South Korea has decided not to support the digital exchange and provide virtual bank accounts to investors. That shows us that Korea has opened the door for cryptocurrency

Most of those countries who able to allow crypto have a long perceptions that this system can be use for much easier transactions overseas, knowing that it can help a lot in their industry those government bodies are able to create their rules not to bother crypto itself but a rule for the country itself and nothing
to do anything from this current system, people will learned from each countries that will succeed without breaking anything from the sole purposes of crypto market.

Also they said we feel hard to say it will happen within this year and although will happen this year, there will be 1~2years stay period.

http://news.naver.com/main/read.nhn?mode=LSD&mid=sec&oid=023&aid=0003382087&sid1=001&lfrom=kakao

In conclusion, Crypto is accepted by government's legal property, SO MANY KOREAN INVESTORS WILL GET INTO MARKET AGAIN!

That's a good news, i hope there will be more countries accept and open door for cryptocurrency.

That would be a grat begining.
Cryptocurrency indeed many who take it in parts of the world. because the Cryptocurrency is able to show strong evidence that is able to generate more profits. currently many countries using Cryptocurrency as the main business includes on South Korea. with developed countries like South Cryptocurrency Korea capable of evolving rapidly.

Japan and South Korea are developed countries and we admit that most of the technology comes from that country. Developed countries have a good idea because they have good technological capabilities so they will consider digital currencies to be a future. While most countries do not have good technological capabilities, they try to abstain. Let's follow developed countries like South Korea, they recognize digital currencies because they know that in the future digital currencies will become an unavoidable need.

The world financial system will change and we must be ready from now on !!!
