Title: rising bitcoin prices, will altcoin drop?
Post by: Rangga27 on July 25, 2018, 02:02:32 AM
hallo all, i want to ask how do you opinion about the increase of bitcoin price would it be bad for altcoin in ALTCOIN / BTC pair?
because every bitcoin price increase is definitely the ALT / BTC or altcoin pair per bitcoin is down, will it cause a huge loss? or it is profitable for those using ALT / USD

I think altcoin will also go up because altcoin always follow the movement of bitcoin if altcoin price does not rise in my opinion it is not possible, because both altcoin always together and needs each other therefore I am not sure if bitcoin price rises and altcoin does not rise

dominance bitcoin is now weak, most likely we will see a rise in dominance. But then the altkoins will surely grow. There will be those who will pleasantly surprise us.

If bitcoin were to rise sharply, altcoin would rise.
So don't worry about that. When bitcoin hits new highs, the bull market is already here.

Yesterday the alts were all down because most of the holders are selling their alts for bitcoin. But take a look at the market again today, most of them are again following bitcoin's lead.
because every bitcoin price increase is definitely the ALT / BTC or altcoin pair per bitcoin is down, will it cause a huge loss?
It's a huge loss for someone who mostly have alts on his portfolio and never had time to pile and stack up bitcoin on his collection.
or it is profitable for those using ALT / USD
Just sell alt for bitcoin.

I'm sure with the rise in the price of Bitcoin will be a passion for Altcoin continues to increase in the future. because these two coins are all competing to be expensive coins and very capable to be relied upon. so that they compete with each other and improve each other's development to achieve high and expensive prices in the future.

I think that the alternative coin would rise up too. bitcoin jow the rising rate is very fast and we called it as bull run. maybe the alternative coins doesn't do it as the same as the bitcoin but I am sure that the the alternative coin would rising too. and as I know, not all the alternative coin would dropping out. maybe the only not popular will drop out. but soon , we can see the color green of the market at all coins.

I think the rising bitcoin price will not drop the altcoin price. Altcoin price were depending on the price of bitcoin. The bitcoin price rises, so with the altcoins. Besides, ICOs carrying altcoins depends on bitcoin investments, so if bitcoin rises, so with the altcoins. They just go with the flow together.

At the moment as I can see all altcoin on crypto market are falling to hell just because of Bitcoin price increasing :). Seem like a lot of shitcoin will die at this period :). Don't worry if you guys are holding good altcoin with high rank on Coinmarketcap cause it'll rise back soon after Bitcoin price stable after bullrun :).

I think altcoin should wait patiently for bitcoin increase, the impact is felt on altcoin because the volume will accumulate on the rise of bitcoin. when later the price is stable then many will return to altcoin, the fair thing often happens to the market when bitcoin is experiencing price spikes.
altcoin will have a good effect when bitcoin is on top.

Yeah they are rising too but if you want to have higher profits, just have bitcoin as soon as you can. You have seen the other side when bitcoin starts to dominate the whole market, alts are putting down on knees which makes them red.

There are selected alts that won't be going along with the rise but there are also selected alts that will also join the ride.

Based on the rising BTC and falling Altcoins value, it seems like Bitcoin is rising because investors are taking money out of altcoins and investing it in BTC. There are no fresh investors, because if that were the case altcoins too would've risen together with BTC, as in end-2017. Fingers crossed!

everything is simple: altcoins paired with bitcoin will remain at the same price in relation to bitcoin, if new money is poured into the sphere of crypto currency.
And if altkoins are sold, then the price in dollars will fall.

You just need to watch the situation that is happening. Altcoins go for Bitcoin, but just many people now start to shift their money from the Altcoins to Bitcoin, which significantly slows their growth, but at the same time accelerates the growth of Bitcoin. I think you should just wait a while and altcoins will go up.

It's happening :). So many complaints in this forum about altcoin price falling just because of Bitcoin price rising. As I know it's the result of rapidly increasing in price of BTC. Last year, it was also the same like this when Bitcoin price increased to $20k, it's the worst time for altcoin but luckily after that so many altcoins still could rise back after a huge dump. I think it'll be the same this time and everything will be fine :).

Just sell alt for bitcoin.

If the bull run of bitcoin not stop then the drop of altcoin price just temporary. After few moment then altcoin will follow bitcoin again.
Now the altcoin try to follow bitcoin eventhough slower than bitcoin moves but at least this will break opinion of people that altcoin will not up follow bitcoin.

Well mate, bitcoin and altcoin have they same platforms in the crypto world. If bitcoin price arises then the altcoins price also increases. This coins are competing each other's in the crypto technology. No one will do down and other will go up. Both coins improving and developing to achieve high prices in the future.

At this time, Its a bad for Altcoins. However, BTC need to be adjusted after strongly going up that will be sideway later. Therefore, ALtcoin will be pumping when BTC adjusted and sideway. if you hold altcoin, just waiting for your coin's turn. Hold tightly, man!

In my opinion, I believe that this time there has been a slight delay for the altcoins to rise up since I had observed in the previous months where if btc goes up, altcoins will definitely follow and not the same case screnario in the current weeks. As btc is now moving forward, it will be expected for the altcoins to follow soon and I don't think altcoins could go down. Most likely when alts market were down, most of the investors shifted to btc since people had observed a dramatic increase in price value.

During the last quarter of 2017, the altcoin prices rose faster than that of Bitcoin, because the investors considered BTC as over-priced. But now the opposite is happening. Most of the investors are having an opinion that the alts are heavily overpriced. Else how can you explain some little known alt with just a few tens of thousands of users having a market cap of over $1 billion?

Title: Re: rising bitcoin prices, will altcoin drop?

As the bitcoin value will rise the altcoiins also goes high this is because the cryptocurrency investment confidence index influence got high too. So bitcoin and altcoins are correlated in terms of bull market in the crypto world some newbie are likely to drop but a stable and top altcoins are likely to soar high when bitcoin price influence increase.

I think the rise in Altcoin prices also has a good impact for Altcoin, I often see when Bitcoin rises then another altcoin also rose, when Bitcoin fell altcoin also descended, I saw a good improvement for the one using ALT / USD.

Prices and values will still depend on how popular it is to users as coins and convenience.
When a coin value rises does not mean some coins will actually be dropping.  The factor affecting this is when a user diverts his coin into bitcoin and an alt then shifts his alts to bitcoins that will contribute to less alts. But in some instances, some alts have different functions that makes it convenient to use even if everyone knows that bitcoin is superior

Title: Re: rising bitcoin prices, will altcoin drop?

I think it will when no new money pour in, just the money flow diverted from alt to btc . People just sell altcoin for btc because btc rising. When btc and altcoin increased, that mean we have new investor in crypto market.

Title: Re: rising bitcoin prices, will altcoin drop?

Yup it increases also! It seems to happen because bitcoin is at the top and it greatly influence the price of others (which is alts) in the market. In short, if btc pumps then alts pump and if btc drops then alts drop as well BUT this is not a constant scenario. For example, I just remembered what happened last bearish days of May (I think so) when huge number of cryptos, including btc, declined but Tether surprisingly goes up.

As of now perhaps yes it will drop as a temporary situation in my opinion so that bitcoin could climb to the highest again value. Which is soon after bitcoin reached the the estimated margin or price some of altcoin in the market will gradually climb as well until  all coins in the market recover.

No, I think that when raising the price on Bitcoin, the price of alternative cryptocurrency also rises. This is due to the fact that people can buy altcoins using BTC.

To increase the price of altcoins you need a larger volume of capitalization, one binding to the alt / btc pair will be small!

I do not think Bitcoin's price will decrease. On the contrary, you can wait for the price to rise. Bitcoin has no direct competitors. Therefore, I see no obstacles to reducing its price. But the demand for Bitcoin is growing every day.

I think they are good altcoins. Which have growth and prospect will never decline. This is the law of the crypto currency. But those who fell in price and could not stand the correction of the market. What to say, not so strong and promising. The strong always swallow the weak. This is life, what can you do?

BTC is increasing in price, while the rest are struggling to hold their actual value. so, we can say that BTC is NOT LINKED TO ALTS IN INCREASING VALUE.

BUT!!! and this is the real issue, if BTC goes down, all the rest will follow. So alts don't follow the uptrend, but it will follow the downtrend, which is really disappointing and disgusting.

if observed carefully it seems that there is no strong and weak term, because in fact this is all just a turnaround, the influence of large investor investors is felt in controlling prices, they always move from one coin to another, so there is always looks stronger and weaker.

calm down man, it's just really usual, all the money from altcoin are now moving to bitcoin and soon will be redistributed again when the market stabilize, people dont want to miss this bitcoin pump
so they are saving bitcoin, however once the market is calming, people will back again to altcoin.

on alt/usd terms its more profitable, but not in alt/btc terms,,
because when bitcoin going high, most of altcoins will converted to bitcoin, this will make the value of altcoins decrease in btc terms
but, when the market cap already growing i believe most of good coins will increase its value in the near time

I think that yes, it will be bad for the altcoins, judging by the autumn of last year. But if Bitcoin can be fixed to above $ 8000 and will be in flat for some time, then it seems to me that the altcoins will rise. Now you can buy a little and buy more if the price goes lower.

Bitcoin prices have risen a lot in recent days, but you can see that other currency prices rarely follow, which is not a good phenomenon. It shows that the market is not an overall increase, but the funds of some projects have returned, and the funds of altcoin are still very small in the market.

The increase in price of bitcoin might affect the price of altcoin. It may pull it down or pull it up. No one can tell. It still depend on how the project goes on to attract investors and gain more people on its community to support the project. Let us hope for the best.

Many investors now converting their altcoin to bitcoin. Thus bitcoin is rising and altcoin is falling. But there will be a time that the situaltion is reverse. All you have to do is wait. Also we must be happy that there's no fud for now.

The market usually tends to pump when ever btc goes up and also it tends to go down if btc goes down, but sometimes there are coins who still pumps even when that market is dumping or low or bearish what ever you want to call it, but i'm just saying that even the market is down you can still profit from that if you become a trader.

I don't think all of the altcoins will go down. I think altcoins that have enough support and have a future will continue to grow with bitcoin. In my opinion, the case will be just the same as last year where altcoins like Ethereum went up together with bitcoin.

In my opinion if bitcoin rises the price of altcoin will also follow it. Because it has become crypto law. It is very unlikely that bitcoin will rise but Altcoin will go down. No sooner will altcoin follow the bitcoin.

During bull markets alts are always lagging.

BTC goes up, then alts sit on their hands and watch what happens. Then they breakout, and in a few days not only do they make up all the satoshis they lost, but they usually double them.

Alts certainly weren't lagging during last year's bull market. Many of them performed vastly better than BTC in 2017. And they haven't been sitting on their hands watching over the last month - they've been rapidly bleeding value.

Marketcap has barely budged until now. No new money. People dumping alts into btc. We ll see if that money goes back into alts. Every cycle is different which makes crypto investing challenging as it is risky.

yes there are so many who hold the tools to sell it to get profit from bitcoin, but I think bitcoin will go down slowly because the event is pushed back until September
Whether it will slow down on the day of the event which we are expecting to boost the market and will gather more investors, it's fine.

Bitcoin has been confidently doing that for years, moving slowly at pace and will pump quickly so suddenly.

At this moment, the only thing that we have to do is to be prepared.

In most cases, the price of altcoins follows the price of Bitcoin, so you do not need to sell your altcoin now. Most likely with the growth of bitcoin, the cost of altcoins will also grow.

By experience whenever bitcoin is on the speedy increase, altcoins normally surfers because a lot of people will move their money into btc to enjoy the btc price increase and profit, but when btc price stabilizes then the altcoins will start it's own increase .

hallo all, i want to ask how do you opinion about the increase of bitcoin price would it be bad for altcoin in ALTCOIN / BTC pair?
because every bitcoin price increase is definitely the ALT / BTC or altcoin pair per bitcoin is down, will it cause a huge loss? or it is profitable for those using ALT / USD
all can happen without anyone can determine and know for sure the price and the value of the future

Sometimes a moment indeed like that. the increase makes the value of bitcoin altcoin down because it will certainly many are switching to altcoin them and sell the bitcoin. Even vice versa. but this is not a guarantee of being able to define and produce in investment. sometime it could not be fully applied.

I think altcoin will also go up because altcoin always follow the movement of bitcoin if altcoin price does not rise in my opinion it is not possible, because both altcoin always together and needs each other therefore I am not sure if bitcoin price rises and altcoin does not rise

I do not think because altcoin is always behind the bitcoin and so now I know if bitcoin prices go up the altcoin price will also rise because altcoin always follow the bitcoin movement then than that if the bitcoin price goes up and the altcoin price will decrease it is not possible

I do not understand the crypto market conditions this year. bitcoin has decreased and altcoin decreases. anything wrong in the crypto market? I think altcoin will experience an increase in price if bitcoin increases in price as well.

When bitcoin price is have vertical rally, altcoin price tend to either static or decreasing, but after the bitcoin price is stable other altcoins will start to catch up bitcoin price, so for now, we can see the altcoin price trying to assign with bitcoin price that just recently reach 8k. I hope in the next week Bitcoin price will be raise even more, than this pattern repeated and continue.

I think is going to happen this time, and has been happening in the past few months, usually when bitcoin goes up a lot in a short time (like this week) people usually sell alts to buy bitcoins for the fear of missing out (FOMO) so they invest in something that goes up, and hope it goes to the moon to make possible their early retirement dreams and lambos.

Er, I do not think that the rise in bitcoin price will lead to a fall in altcoin price. With the current market trend, it is almost seeming like the two are becoming independent of one another, So a change in the price of one of them, might not necessarily affect the other.

Yes, it always affect altcoin prices when BTC in bull run. Because everyone just transfer their money from altocins to BTC to make some profits on growth. So better have at least 50% of your portfolio in BTC.

The altcoins are not even following the price of bitcoin in the first place so there is no need to debate if the prices will drop when the price is not even growing in the first place. Mostly the increase in the price of bitcoin means an increase in the price of altcoins but at this point I am not so sure about that anymore but regardless, I would rather see the price of bitcoin up than down. Maybe it will just take the price of the altcoins some time to catch up with the price of bitcoin. It won't be the first time something like this is happening and there are a bit of delay sometimes.

For me BTC (Bitcoin) price does not affect the price of altcoins, I the change of price of the certain token is depend on the supply of it.

Bitcoin prices will remain at a certain level. Then a big pump will live. After this pump period, there will be a return and the price will decrease again. The important thing is to evaluate this opportunity very well and earn money.

The price changes of the token in the market define that the bitcoin is droping, for example if the other token is droping. the reference of other token is the price of the main token of crypto and that is bitcoin.

i don't believe that altcoin will drop, they are not climbing but they are not dropping either, a lot of them are just staying on the same position. It does seem like there is not a demand for altcoins like normal so it could be why the coins are not following the rise of bitcoin at this point. We will just have to wait and see what happens to the prices of altcoins at this point onwards.

I will say that presently, the price of altcoin are in a particle point, they are not dropping anymore neither are they rising and I think this is due to the fact that there is less demand for altcoin and high demand for bitcoin that is why the altcoins are not following the rise in price of bitcoin but I believe when the market recover fully, all crypto will rise.

I think mostly the answer is no because i saw most coins are traded in bitcoin and mostly use to convert that price in bitcoin only and if the bitcoin price is going up the price of some altcoins are also going up compare to dollar price.

There is no way to accurately answer this op, but history has shown that Bitcoin and altcoin values are usually directly proportional to each other majority of the time and inversely proportional to each other minority of the time which is why you need to do your research before deciding whether or not to HODL your coins and tokens in your portfolio. Be wary of the risk involved with this market and never invest what you are not willing to lose.

When bitcoin flash pumps, alts' price go with it. This is due to the token/bitcoin pairs. But once the people realize that the price of bitcoin would continue to increase and thus is in a bull run, they will sell their altcoins at a surplus and FOMO into it.

Title: Re: rising bitcoin prices, will altcoin drop?

Some of them are down but some of them are up also together with bitcoin because most of the tokens are directly converted in bitcoin only thats why if the price of bitcoin goes up the price of some altcoins are also goes up.

it seems that at this time the movement of bitcoin increase is not too influential with other coins, just look at bitcoin rises but altcoin prices still tend to be the same, but when bitcoin down even altcoin others follow down too

This btc run is obviously single movements because investors now are betting in bitcoin for the ETF that will be happening this August, many believers that this will pump the market specially bitcoin

But regarding to the effect for the altcoins, maybe lets wait until the event ends that will determine whats for the altcoins part

I think it will depend on the global market situation. When Bitcoin grows, it is inevitable that some will exchange altcoin with Bitcoin. But when a lot of fiat comes in with a balanced ratio, I think the altcoin market will be fine, at least it will remain stable even though it has not increased.

Depends on the Bitcoin price jump. If BTC get big pumped, altcoins will bleed just because people think hodling Bitcoin will lead to get more profit in USD and If Bitcoin get dumped, altcoins will still bleed because they think it's risky to hodl altcoins. However, altcoins price will go up when Bitcoin price is not moving up or down. It's complicated? Yes. So just enjoy it and take profit when there is a chance.

I think BTC will outperform many alts until we hear more about the ETF, but that specific alts that achieve milestones or other noteworthy results can outperform BTC. If the ETF is eventually approved, BTC will certainly see a spike; alts may lag behind a bit but good projects should do well longer term relative to BTC. If the ETF is denied, then BTC will probably drag most alts down with it for a while. Still too few Fiat pairs and too little mainstream awareness overall.

In my own perspective the price of altcoin will do the same as the price of bitcoin did. As far as I know, altcoin is just depending on bitcoin so whenever thenprice of bitcoin rises, then there is a possibility that the price of alt will rise too.
