But are they really fighting for something?  Why do they want anything to do with the EU?  Why do they want anything to do with other nations rather than their own?

This protest ought to be for true freedom, anarchy.  Otherwise, history will repeat over and over until the day they fight for true equality and peace through anarchy.

i understand that you are fighting against repressive sociopath assholes. my argument was not that you aren't. my argument was that there is no point in seeking to replace them with new rulers. power corrupts and so what ever new person you give power to will also become corrupted. if you want freedom than replacing existing rulers with new rulers will never have that effect. if you want freedom than you have to reject rulership in general, not rulership from one particular group of rulers.

You will find that here in particular there are people who far more about the power play currently going on in the world between the major nations/organisations than most people, while I can totally understand usurping an imbecile in charge of the country I can't understand wanting to join an organisation that's just as bad as the one you're trying to leave, you'd be much better off if you formed your own independent democracy. The European Union isn't any kind of safe economic haven it's perceived as and the states within it are just as divided and bickering as they always have been the only difference is that they have pretty much merged together for the sake of protection so they don't end up getting invaded by the U.S or Russia.

I really hope you guys don't end up like Greece or Italy where you endlessly keep cycling through new leaders and governments until someone takes advantage of the situation and screws you all even worse than before.

From 2000 we turned to EU(we belived that we will live better) and till now corruption in Serbia grow constantly,wages drops, from 7 millions people 20,1% don't have a job. We lose our territory Kosovo, killers kill people and get 1 year in prison ( for exaple if you kill thief in your house you go to jail ) but those who have money dont go to jail anyway. Those who have money earn more money,those who haven't they desperately do everything for money etc.

Anon has it right.  The thing is, this has happened over and over throughout history.  The reason it keeps happening over and over again is because whenever there is a revolution, a new set of rulers comes in only to become drunk with power, and the process repeats.

If you guys stand up to fight for no government at all, then there will be nobody in that position to become a tyrant in the first place.  The problem is well beyond your current government, it is all governments that oppress their people.

The only way to be truly free is anarchy.  Otherwise, you will still have a governing entity who continues to exert force through violence.
