Hello guys :) i am one of the bitcoin oldie lover, i had 76 btc, but lost much of them left with like 6 due to alt coin loses, market is dumping like crazy, what would be the suggestion and recommendation? HODL has made me alot of losses, i am not sure how bitcoin will survive without altcoins, but i would love to see you opinion and as per me , altcoins will recover soon what abt you?

You might be wanted to always check out the market before attempting to HODL for a little longer like 1 week or more. In the other side, you can always cut losses on every trade you have made if you won't betting on the risk anymore.

i was silly guys, i never wanted to trade alts until i got greedy and went for poloniex and btc-e my first exchange lost 20 btc in zec, but i had purchased at lower prices first price was 15 usd then 30 and 100 and so on

Do you think that bitcoin will not survive without alithinou? I think differently. A few other coins are enough. For example Ethereum, NEO, EOS.
What's the situation now? We have bitcoin (it's cool!) and there are a lot of altcoins (it is unclear what and why).
So I'm not worried about Bitcoin..

Sometimes the risk is not justified.

Say that on losses it can be taught,, but then there is no money to realize their experience.

what a huge losses bro. thats a lesson learned before invest and hodl in altxoin much better to check there price history if is this low or high and the purpose of coin..

If you good on trading, its not a big problem. So you can increase your own bitcoin by trading as well.
If you can't trade or don't how to choose coin that is a good one, you can join to channel prediction for trade, but you must choose the trusted channel. Thanks

I have many altkoins and no bitcoin at all. I want to buy bitcoin on correction in the near future, because I believe in its growth, I want to hold the most stable crypto currency. Why did not you sell bitcoin for 15,000?

Sorry for the loss buddy. I think the best option now is just to hodl. I dont think it is worth to put your btc in altcoins anymore as this can increase your losses. What about just hold and see the value by the end of the year since we are seeing a steady increase in price by now. If the value do reach near what it was last year i think that would be very good for you

The number is kind of big here, losing so much on altcoins to come to think of it. Maybe you need to set a good plan a strategy first. Investing in altcoins are good, but this is a bit out of the line.

it is hard to understand what you really mean. you say you are an "oldie" then you say "hold made me lose"! based on your registration date if you bought bitcoin at $300ish and really HODL then you had made a huge profit!

as for altcoins my strategy has always been to trade into the pumps and i will not change it unless i see a real good altcoin which i have not yet seen.

I think you are not analyzing the market situation. ALTcoins are not doing good at all, because a lot of people has exchanged them for BTC due the news of ETF. But, if BTC become stable ALTs will recover definitely. So its better to wait, and sell later under stable conditions.

If you still keep it, I do not think that you do not get the loss because its value will rise again, unlike sold and you will not get anything, you better save Bitcoin than buy altcoin, the condition is not too good for altcoin many people misstep in a wave of decline, many people are moving to buy Bitcoin because they believe Bitcoin is more profitable than others, I hope you do not do things that endanger yourself.

My tip is just like Chinese businessman does, Do not HOLD for a longtime for a larger profit  it is better to have small amount profit in a  a short period of time atleast you are sure that you have profit that to think of the larger profit that you are not sure if you will earn that.

wow, a big loss. I agree with you about the current market, it's decreasing, and each time I go to my ETH wallet, I just see a redhead, I do not like this much. The market goes down making investors like me and you feel depressed. But we have to accept that. The market is down, it is a good idea to keep the BTC, which will benefit us a lot in the future and if there is a little more investment in the altcoin. I'm sure the future will be different.  ;) ;) ;)

As for buying Altcoins, if you believe in bitcoin, I would suggest holding a large amount of reserves and buying some riskier Altcoins with what you have left.

altcoins can of course survive without bitcoin, the world doesnt really care about bitcoin, they care about the blockchain technology to create their own coins, and contracts.

Losses will bring benefits, from your experience you should be able to find a solution. If you don't want to lose, try to invest altcoins to cover your losses. With prices currently falling, of course, this is your chance to have altcoin as your benefit. I think you invest in wrong altcoin, as per my experience i earn lots of profit in Altcoin but i believe in hold not day trade. Altcoin is more profitable as compare to bitcoin.

But I think BTC is in the phase of recovering prices, compared to last month BTC started to improve and of course you have to wait for the BTC prices to stabilize.

Everyone of us made some mistakes and losses a big amount of money where in we wrongly invest in unstrong altcoins. Hodl until bitcoin rise up. Just like today, if you'll just look at the altcoins in some exchanges, their value is heavily dropped. Some TA's said that it will bounce up in a few days, if you can just read indicators, some of altcoins are following the path of bitcoin wherein when btc dump, altcoins are also dumping.

You still have 6BTC you are luck enough to have gotten it. Not everyone had even just 1 actually. I myself had also lost most of it. I was also investing to a lot of altcoins I thought would make me richer. I miss the massive dump as I was trying to make more, you can call it greed but I a hopeful investor who will look an altcoin to be more than $50 each one day.

That's really a huge loss you have faced. Damn, that must have hit you really hard I guess. I can't afford to loose such an amount because I don't have it  :P .
Investments are subject to risks. If you had planned your trades well and have stopped after loosing a few BTC may be you could have saved the rest for in need of it. Neither BTC is bad nor the Altcoins but if you keep loosing on Altcoins may be you shouldn't just invest in it. Just saving the BTC could have made you enough money I believe.

you need to learn to wait. if you take hasty conclusions from situations, then nothing good will come of it and you will not be able to earn on it to regret

Oldie people in cryptocurrency will know the pleasure of holding bitcoin to date, oldie people in cryptocurrency will know their regrets for selling bitcoin at a very low price especially before 2017, and I suspect you aren't an oldie people in cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, I'm sorry to say that. Just my suggestion, HODL is the best time if you had a lot of lose, think about your loses before you are intend to sell. I'm not economic expert who have a good prediction about bitcoin in the future. I only use my brain to predict that bitcoin will have a huge price in the future.

As you Hodl for a long time, I suggest you hold a little bit more. As altcoin prices are dumping though it will recover also. BTC still has a probability to rise by the years last. If you are confident enough to go for any altcoin then go for it but not to trade your full coins. Go for a portion in portfolio theory.

at the moment I am still holding altcoins, you are right at this time the market is too sick to look at, but I have a surefire way to avoid my big losses, I am various kinds of altcoins out there and I, selling to markets that have a price greater than I bought

I think you're HODLing strategy is not working properly or you are not analyzing the market situation correctly. ALTcoins are not doing so good recently because a lot of people has exchanged them for BTC when the news of ETF proposal broke out, which damaged the balance of the market. But, in future, if BTC become stable ALTs will recover definitely. Now, the choice is yours to make, to sell right now for a loss or wait for a stable situation.

That’s a huge loss you made by holding your altcoins. Altcoins have been facing a downward trend for the past few weeks but I think a rapid recovery is on the horizon. Not all the coins may recover but a few will surely have high return in the long run. Plus, hold on to your current bitcoins and don't sell them off.

You made a lot of mistakes during your initial strategy by losing BTCs. Those could have made you millionaire by now. There are many strategies and indicators available which will tell you about the current market situation. As for now, I would suggest you to hold on to ALTs because the market is not stable.

I do not really buy into this idea, hiw can i redeem my investment from altcoin. Hiw much is their price even compared to tgr drop in lrice of btc. I would rather buy the dropped price of btc and hold for the best. My thought thoo :(

If you want to gain a profit about investing in altcoin you should have enough knowledge about doing it,or else you will lost your money about it,so be strictly about what you are doing in every time and be kind at all.

I am of the opinion that you should not hold out for a long time for more profit, it's better to have less profit, but already at the moment! Yes, of course, you can wait, but it is not already known whether the profit will or not

I'd rather transfer half the bitcoins to ethereum, EOS, NEO and other promising coins. Now there is no guarantee that what was in December last year will not happen again, and more than once. you can see the bitcoin is a big difference to the altcoins when it is your review today because many people now do not profit in altcoins because the price is knocked down and it does not work with bitcoin except ethereum.

Altcoin is like Bitcoin, it's part of the financial market, Not everyone is just one person. I've lost a lot of it myself. I am also investing in a lot of altcoins that I think will make me richer.

Platform altcoins are always your best investment if your holding for a long term. You could also try coins that is use in exchanges or have exchanges like KuCoin,Binance Coin and Fcoin Token.

Robotics and AI has great future. Market will rise 500% approx in next 3 years.

I had some losses too from some altcoins, better to invest with top 50 on the market cap list but there's also lots of goodies outside the top 100 list of altcoins. I still think that btc is the strongest you can hodl, I strongly believe and hoping that crypto prices will recover soon

waw is a lot but I think wait for the price is still not good now it has dropped a lot these days after yesterday it has gone up from $6000 to $8400. be patient, hopefully this is just a price correction I am still waiting for news about CBOE ETFs hopefully it will be approved and be positive news

Sorry to hear about your loss. I do not personally like alcoins for investment as it has high possibility of risk . We from this experience you may take a lesson.. Just be careful in future before investing and do analysis price market.

Well just try to take it as a lesson. You definitely know the entire cypto world is unpredictable. You may use some other bitcoins instead of alt and double check the price history before making investment.

Dont think of your loss charge it to your experience and learn from your mistakes, you are still lucky because you are older than us here get get some BTC, nowadays it requires hard work for us to get some.

Trading is one of the profitable way in cryptoworld but it is too risky for anyone who's not PRO doing trading, you lose a big amount on trading Im sure you learn something in there and you can now trade better than before.

Don't blame your losses to holding. Before when you had 76 bitcoins, how much per bitcoin it was? if you just held until today let's say few years ago, you are still in profit right?

Bitcoin can survive even without altcoins, just think on how much the total market cap of these altcoins if all of them will be removed and all investors will focus to bitcoin.

It will once bitcoin recovers too. Bearish will probably stay but it won't last a lifetime and in return once it's done, we'll see everything recovers.

It’s a waste if some of your bitcoin that you hold is exchanged to altcoins because from any aspect bitcoin’s price is superior to altcoins. I think you better hold it longer and don't panic when the price drops. You have lost a lot of your money because of the panic because you sold some of your bitcoin. You have to be patient and wait even longer to get good profits.

Wow... I'm sorry for you, it seems to be very hard when you used to have 76 BTC and now you're left with 6 of them, I think I would be regretting very hardly, because for now and exchange of dollar it is a significant amount of money.

If you bought your bitcoin 2 or 3 years ago and sell your remaining coins for fiat, the value may well cover the loss of the others.-but it still will hurt. Personally i hold some minor cryptos which have dropped in price quite significantly over the last few months, but the amounts i bought in $ terms was very small (never more than $100 worth which gives me a lot of coins when they cost pennies) so i can afford to take a very long view, and so long as they at least double from my starting point over a year i will make a good profit-not huge but enough to keep on doing it and gradually increase my capital.

Altcoin is a trend for those who are new to investing, making profits easier with Altcoin. But you have a strategy to find the right kind of coin and development, should not put all the money into a coin.

As for me altcoins are not so strong now because they have decreased for a little bit but their abilities for the restorin are good too. I like them but I don't work with them now.

I have heard that the last year had a near 1600 altcoins and a lot of people are confused with this news. They are not able to survive for all of them but the minority of them will become the leaders I am sure.

Alternate coins are going down since last March and I also velieve that it should be recovering. Iknow you lost a lot by hodling but it will still be best if you do the same since the market is expected to recover this coming December or January 2019. Be a bit more patient even though you have lost a lot.

The market is not stable, there are no guarantees. Well, you can play with your coins, but if everything goes to the bottom? Losses will be much more than now. I understand you want activity. But is it worth taking such a step.

Holding is really needed when you are suffering with huge loses, this volatile market can bring huge loss but also can accompanied by huge success, a lots of people who deal with cryptocurrency before experience the huge earnings, after the downfall bouncing back much stronger is also possible, there's a need of deeper knowledge and taking the risk responsibly.

I think it's worth to wait for higher market and with it higher prices for altcoins. I think you're investing for the long term, you should expect profits in a few years, not a few months.
