I am a Hodler, I have waited for straight 8 difficult months to see the bulls return, we were having some semblance to a boom in the last 2 weeks, now market cap is struggling with 250 Billion $. How long are we going to wait?

I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts for a few years. Only those who have been through the bear market in 2013 will know from the bottom of their hearts that a rebound can take time. I wouldn't call you a holder because you have kept your bitcoins for 8 months. You need to be a lot more patient. You have seen nothing so far.

Like in the phrase that they say patient is a virtue, Because you will be needing it and showing a high moral standard in every aspect on this kind of market, We can not know when the bear market will subside it is like a thief in the night no one know when can it be, We can really be aware of it because the value will suddenly go boom out of nowhere without a warning, That is why you will need a lot of patient if you are truly are a hodler, Because deep inside we know that this bear market isn't forever you will only lose if you would show weakness in front of the bear.

HODL is for losers and prolets, i am afraid,

instead of the bearmarket to dissappear you will get a dissolution of the us dollar, and then you have several hundred million of extremely volatile markets

8 months seem to be not long for crypto long term investment. I'm into crypto for almost 10 months. 2-3 months ago I was obsessed with prices, ups and downs, constantly reading predictions, making my own predictions, etc)) that was really crazy time)) now I'm in the phase of peace and contemplation))) We want everything at once, but this can't be. My advice is to wait patiently and accumulate your experience to develop your own strategy which will suit you best of all.

Mate, your not the only holder here but almost everyone does except for those who are against with it.
We don't know on how long we have to wait until we sees it goes to the top. If you are still calm at this moment, you can buy more.

Because the market is unpredictable, we cannot just spit a time where it will definitely end because as we all know in the past months some speculations that didn't actually happen. If you believe that the struggle of bitcoin will end, you should just keep it up but don't expect too much on some ideas that it will happen at stated time by the other people.

the bear market technically ended a couple of months ago.
just because we don't see wild rises like last year, specially near the end, it doesn't mean we are in a bear market. this has been a transition phase for some time now. we have had good signs of the phase coming to an end and entering the bull mode but that didn't last and we stayed in this phase. and possibly will be here with sideways movement for a while.

We are now at 7 consecutive bear days which has not occurred at all this year and probably not for a few years. Watching $6800 area closely as that is where we should see support based on it serving as strong resistance previously.

I think if etf accepts bitcoin the market will return to green and I'm sure all altcoins will also rise as in the early 2018

I keep going back to the possibility that these drops that we see these days in bitcoin are caused mainly by the over-pumped altcoins that have been getting dumped for a while now. that is a lot of money that has been exiting the market and most of it is exiting through bitcoin and that can effectively bring its price down.
we have had clear example of it too. for example when Bancor was hacked and millions of dollars worth of Ether was stolen the dump of ETH brought bitcoin price down with it.
in this case the drops will end when altcoin dumps are over.

If you really are a btc believer, then you are a hodler. No one really knows when will the bearish market be over and the time for the bull market to take place next. I guess the best thing for now that we should do is just to stay cool and just wait for the time being until btc will recover. No one knows that mate. And no one will be able to predict anything like that so easily. I mean there are technical analysis which predicted that year 2018 will bring price above 20K USD per bitcoin but nothing like happened and over that bitcoin started going down all the time. I think we know very well this market will recover when it has to recover and when lots of people are going to put their money at stake with the bitcoin.

There are so many ups and downs in the current market and we are seeng this since start of the year. Unless and until the market doesnt get condensed with huge investment, it is going no where.

It's really difficult to say as this year has been one of the most difficult year for bitcoins so there's no guarantee that we'll see a bounce, but I'm optimistic that bitcoins has always shot up during end periods of the year so let's hope it does go up, then again CBOE etf is coming and once that is accepted we'll go to mars for sure that's only few months away so hodl on.

Keeping your bitcoins for 8 months means you got the patience to long trade. I think you need to keep it further since the market is not certain yet. The bear market is not going to end anytime sooner since bitcoins is still struggling to climb higher price.

Stay patient and keep hold your bitcoin. I think 8 months is a short time for bitcoin holders. You must to be more patient, many people hold bitcoin for years. until they are sure they will sell it at prices that have been targeted and wait for bitcoin to the moon.

The bear season is still on we need to accept the facts, it might end anytime soon. We just have to be a more patience and continue holding. The year 2013 witness more bear markets than this present situation. At end of the day, the markets normalized.
So let wait a little more.

In my own opinion, no one knows when the bear market is going to end because this has really been a long bear market and no one cab accurately tell you when it is likely going to come to an end as its really not predictable in my own opinion.

Hodler means "save your bitcoin offline and wait for long periods or even achieve a planned return."
Eight months are not a long-term, as if you bought in that period you are probably losing now.

The high price does not mean that this rise will continue forever, but there must be corrections.

I do not expect it will take longer because of much positive news but will not see levels like $ 20,000 soon "short term."

Nobody can say when will the bear market end ,but I think it is little by little ending ,because thete are many green figures in the coin market cap, I think few days from now ,the bear market will be over and the greenish season will replinish the bear market season, this maybe good news to all crypto holders.

Its hard to predict cryptocurrency market right now. After many negative news in last few months, and market cap value drop more than 70%, i think holding is best option. I don't think that you can tell it in just 8 months because if you will check the chart for the last several years, the price recovered and rised from its downfall after a few years so we cant tell if it will recover in just 8 months. You need more patience in hodl your bitcoin.

No one exactly knows when will the bear market ends and only time can tell when. Apparently, once the adjustment period will be over, then market will be normalize again and most likely gave way to a bullish market to take over.

Your question is the most difficult question now, haha. My answer is maybe now or at the end of this year or more one year or more two year, etc. We can't know.
The best answer I can give you that the time bear market end is when have a big amount of money join in the market, I don't know exactly when, I just know we need a large of money from investors so that the market will be in a bull market :)

This is not advice at all, just a simple method I personally use when there are dips or the market is in bear territory. I originally bought during the peak in end of 2013, watched as my modest amount of coins slowly trickled down in value for almost 3 years. Thankfully never sold (heeded the best advice for long term; "don't put in more than you can afford to lose")

It's quite simple, I have a small amount I keep to spend on crypto per month. A fixed budget. Any time there is a dip of close to 10% in the market I do a little "shopping". Typically pick up interesting coins or tokens that I've had my eye on in the past or ones that have caught my interest recently.

I consider myself to be quite cautious and risk adverse by this stage, but I certainly would not trade or take part in buying/selling, I am in it for the long term - and this is by no means some investment strategy, it's simple, stable, cautious method I use than keeps me psychologically happy with the situation

I'm actually excited to see a "significant" dip. Alternatively I am naturally happy when the market goes up. Of course I have no idea what will happen in the future, but I do know what's happened in the past, and anyone who has bought during dips in the last few years and held onto the coins has generally done well (of course traders and good knowledgeable buyers/sellers have also done well, but that's a different sphere)

In order to keep "real-time" track of the market I use a portfolio app on the phone, load in imaginary amounts of the top 50 or so coins, and that is a fairly good indicator of which way it's moving and how fast. Any time I spend some fiat to buy coins, I replace it immediately and keep it ready for the next dip (again, this are small modest amounts).. all the while sticking to the budget

Again, it's more psychological than any sort of advanced investment strategy, but my portfolio has only grown in value. This market (so far) does reward patience, it also rewards buying when everyone else is selling - a cliche I know, but so far has worked ok for me. As shown in the chart, the on balance volume (OBV) shows how trading volumes all but flatlined after the crash in 2014, which points to the fact of just how comparatively thin trading was for bitcoin relative to 2018 the long-term looks bullish for the ‘strong hands’ investors able to filter out the panic of temporary momentum shifts.

Many people are predicting that by end of 2018 we will see the btc prices boom back to the previous highs of last year and also expecting to reach new milestones this year before it starts consolidating and from there we can see again some pullback wherein new buyers and sellers will ride the boat. Then all this is a cycle, it all depends on volume as well, but for me I am expecting btc would reach 30k mark this year, let's see and hope for the next.

The crypto market is highly unpredictable, so no one can say if the bear market will end now or later.
Having said that, i think the bearish trend is coming to an end sooner.

In my opinion Bear market only when Bitcoin fall lower 3K$. I think it will happen about spring of the next year. I don't expect that in this year will be any strong rise and whole the market will be in flat.

I think that in the summer we will not see much growth any more. I think that all August will be a protracted flet and only autumn we will see a revival of the market.

On 2013/11/02 the price was $992 and it took almost 3 years to reach $999 <2017/01/01> again. If we go according to that, then the $19 000+ All time high of 2017, would only come around in late 2020 or early 2021.  ::)

Luckily for us, Bitcoin do not keep to historic trends, and it might happen in a couple of days. <The price dropped with more than $600 in a few hours from yesterday, so it might increase with the same value in the opposite direction>  ::)

It already feels like it will never end, of course we are everybody believing in cryptocurrency market and in resurrection of it in 2019, but it feels like to be honest that we are heading towards zero with all our prices.

I think we have reached on the worst case scenario for now. Dropping horribly below 7,000$ and then again at 6,700$ made this price possible. But we are not on a bad position as compared to before when it reached on a price of 5,900$. With the price rejecting to go down further we might see Bitcoin go on a temporary price rally too 7,200$ if the price still holds on.

You are right, no one knows when the market price will increase again and all you have to do today is be patient because the price can always grow depending on the news and other speculations that crypto analyst are creating.

No one can tell how long bear market will stay in crypto market and we have no choice to this situation. Let's hope that bull run will start this year so we have a good profits by the end of the year.

Well, I thought it would end at the start of this month. Since it didnt, we will be in this bear market until 2019, probably until May.

We can see some bulltraps, though. I believe we still can reach 12k in December, but it will be dumped again. There will be no ATH this year.

You have been holding for 8 months, that is not a lot of time if you ask me, but about your question, many members in the forum are predicting a fast recovery since we got this crash and I find it to be very unlikely, so the most likely option is that this bear market is going to last for at least a few years, I know that it is probably not something that you want to hear but if you are a true holder you will find a way to hold your coins.

Just look at history. It's when everyone thinks Bitcoin is dead that bubbles begin. And look at the situation we have now: the market is in decline and yet everyone is hopeful and caught in bullish hype (ETF hype, BAKKT hype, etc), thinking the next bubble is right around the corner.

In July 2013, despite the correction being so short, I felt true despair. I don't feel that now. People are still so hopeful. I still think a mid-term bull trap and long term sideways correction is possible, but I wouldn't plan on an end to the bear market just yet.

Remember also: sometimes the second leg down ends with a higher low (2012, 2013). So a continued bear market doesn't necessarily mean new lows, but it does mean distribution cycle and no new highs.

Just wait mate until the market recover 'cause to be honest no one knows when bear market will end because of some unexpected factors that always exist nowadays in the market, so hold and be patience monitor the market always to get the right timing if your planning to sell of.  

As long as your holding you haven't lost anything, it's only when you try to cash out that you lost. So stop looking at that ticker and set a price reminder and come back when that price hits, I guarantee it will happen before you die. In reality the only thing you have lost is the ability to profit more as long as your holding.

It's been predicted that the downtrend will go as low around the $6200 tag, after which the price will begin to recover little by little in a gradual manner. Anyhow in the short it is possible to earn through the fluctuations. Even in the last year the month August made a big change over the entire market scenario. Hope the same could take place this year too.

I think this question should be no one knows the answer. The last round of the bear market was ended at the beginning of 2017 and originated at the end of 2013, it lasted for about three years. But this round of bear market is only eight months until now, it’s very likely that it will last longer.

there's a difference between a bear market and a flat or bored market. the bear market ended in 2015. after that it was a sideways/dead market until it started to move up again.

i expect it to last into next year. when every single sign of life is still jumped on as a sign of the reversal of everything that tell us confidence is still too high.

Nobody knows when this bearish market ends. Just increase your tolerance to a higher level and hold your coins until the full recovery of the market. Yeah those who waited for 9 years had benefited on the all time high of $20k, maybe next year or couple of years... it's unpredictable business.

   
   I`m holding longer than Abruchifid and truth is that we need to hold for much longer, until the years and years are behind us.
Bearish trend will never end, it`s one more truth, there will be bears and bulls as long earth exist, and all others, it`s an eco-
system, everyone got`s some work to do.

No one knows. The market has been very depressing for me especially. Now I have to sell my assets to cut back on the losses. Many people are getting discouraged and leaving the market. Unless there's a big news that will change people's perception, it might be very difficult for the market to rebound.

Crypto currency isn't yet approved and accepted totally by the community. Still have doubts about its existence and purpose of its creation. You have way more experiences as you had in 2013, so you cant really compare your personal felling with those at that time. I am sure that big part of those that entered crypto in 2017 right now fells quite desperate. Most already left, They join to make easy fast money, but all they got was having zero profit or even a loss.

I believe we are close to the bottom. It will end the bear market. But ending of bear market does not mean that Bull market will start. We will have to wait for it until next year.

You must be right. When people are repeating the mistakes of losing hope on bitcoin markets and then regretting when prices are rising, how we can expect the bear market to find an end ? Instead of losing hopes, we must make use of dips to buy more. I guess many people keep buying, that is why we are having still prices above $6000 otherwise they would have driven into $4k zones. Believe into bitcoin's future then bear market will find its end immediately.

I am expecting some strong news from various countries so that bitcoin prices will move around $10k. When bitcoin will be having prices around big numbers, more people get attracted to start investing with bitcoins which may lead to clean up the bears out of this markets.

Suggest to wait more months or until the end of the year 2018 gone. Because I believe during december 2018 the market will recover fastly like what happened in december 2017 when the market is very high market cap. But if you think it will not recover it's up to you if you still hold or give up.

No one really knows as long as people would sell or panic sell rather, if there's a bad news. We'll be staying here until good news or massive pump will happen. There's no exact time when will it be but hope to have a good run near holiday season.

I think bear market will end soon but we should promote the Crypto potential then only it will going to moon. When the panic is over, the market price will start to rise up again and that is the reason why we should invest a huge amount today and take advantage of the current market price while it was low.

The panic is probably not over, when the SEC gives a negative decision the price of bitcoin will drop again and when people finally realize there is not going to be a bull market at the end of the year as they were expecting this is going to create another decrease in the price, I do not like it but right now that is what I see happening in the next months.

This is unpredictable and nobody knows when this bear market end. The good side of this we can buy bitcoin at cheaper price and increase our investments to get ready for the bull market. I believe a lot of crypto-currencies investors who are investing for the long term are also hoping that the current bear market will end soon, but it seems that the trading market outlook is not very positive at the moment as there is not enough positive news to attract new investors from the traditional investment to switch their investment into crypto-currencies.

What positive news do you expect? Some analysts have launched a fake about the impact of positive news on the price in order to show their mind but at the same time shift the responsibility to the news. I don't believe that. It seems to me that bitcoin was popular as long as people believed that it would become a currency and replace the dollar as a reserve asset. But the actions of speculators have destroyed these hopes and therefore the idea of cryptocurrencies is coming to a collapse.

Investors sure are hoping that the price would go up soon. Maybe before, they are happy that the price is down because they would be able to accumulate more but now, it seems that investors are already out of funds to buy more and hoping for an upside. If you want to take advantage of what is happening now then better learn trading and accumulate small profit.


Well, bitcoin always surprise us so maybe it would make a comeback and show every body that he is still the king of cryptocurrency. Although the cause of the plunge is because of the delay of ETF, still it is a delay and there is a chance that it would be approve in which case it would make the price go up then.

Bear market cant end unless most of those that joined in 2017 gets so desperate to sell their coins so that Bitcoins price falls so low that Bitcoin start looking as cheap once again.

Nobody knows this right now. However, this year seems to be an upward movement. We are still hopeful.

It looks like the bottom has already been touched around the 6k level.  I've read some speculation that this bear market will last a very long time similar to the 2014 crash, but I believe this time is different.  Crypto is much more widely adopted and billions have been invested in mining facilities and equipment.  All these big players will not let the price crash any further.

The market today is bullish because there are a lot of people who are still doubting about the market price if it will pump in the end of the year or not plus the criticswho are creating negative speculations that's the reason why people cannot fully commit to cryptocurrency.

Buddy if you ask me then I have only one thing to say that no one knows when would a bearish market will start and the only thing i know is this time it will make another ath as a lot of people are waiting for the bull market and then when the bitcoin price will even rise a few thousand dollars then too the bitcoin will be all over the news again and that would give good PR so that more investors would invest in Bitcoin.

I think it applies to these cycles pretty well (not necessarily in shape and price movement; I'm just talking about sentiment). The "denial" and "return to normal" phases are characterized by lots of hope. By contrast, "capitulation" and "despair" are characterized by, well, capitulation and despair. :D

It still seems like people are quite hopeful. They're hopeful that the ETF or Bakkt will save them from a prolonged bear market, and that the worst is over. So they haven't given up hope.


That's quite possible. There are usually two kinds of bottoms: capitulation bottoms (like the bubble chart) and sideways base bottoms. I'd love to see the latter, but have to wait and see.

Me, too but we can't really do nothing about it. I'm praying so hard for even just a recovery so I can get a nice amount of profit from my losses.
But you should not be acting that you are the one with so much losses because some of the holders are more desperate because they are doing it for more than 4 years and above.

Make no mistake the ones that are struggling are the investors not bitcoin, do you see the technology or the protocol being under attack? Because I do not see it, some countries are creating additional regulations but that is it and that does not affect bitcoin that much, so bitcoin is fine and in fact it is improving but people are so concentrated in the price they do not care about anything else.

That is one reality that it is not easy for the people to predict the future price and to say whether or not the market will be low or high. The bear market will only end when we have a rising price in the cryptocurrency and that will be possible only if the number of participants for Bitcoin investment increases. On the other hand if the participant rate decreases more and more then we may not go out of this market.

Crypto reality is that bear market will never end. Price will always have its peaks and bottoms, take a look on stock market and companies that exist for years, they have their good and bad days.
People want price to rise all the time, to drop one day and then to start rising other day, do you really think that we live in perfect world? If you do you have some problem in your head. We would not know though, but from the look of things I would not be surprised if what we are seeing right now could be a bull trap with so many people having loads of expectations and then the bear hits again and then all hope is lost, some who are not strong enough to keep holding starts exiting their positions thinking this is the end and then we hit the level of huge demand again where accumulation starts and then we see participation and the recovery.

I believe we are not in a "bear market" in some sense. I think we were in a bull market and the prices went up really high however it dropped pretty quickly. Remember what the prices were before December ? Well we are just going steady, there was just this one crazy insane bull run but than it went back down to real numbers. If you  consider it like "bitcoin was once $20k but now it is $6k" than you will be really sad and hopeless.

Nevertheless, if you see it like "bitcoin has been $6k for nearly a year except that one time in December when it skyrocketed and come back" you will feel a lot better because you shift the anomaly to $20k and not the bear market that dropped to $6k.

I also believe the worst it is over. Bitcoin cant lose much of value anymore.  But that dont mean that a month after bottom price will be $10k+ and new bull run starts.    After bottom there will be long period of time when there will be huge negativity towards Bitcoin in media that will expect Bitcoin to go to zero.  Although price will be so so stable and no one will lose any money anymore. Bitcoin will be totally unattractive for new people.   Yes old holders will try to accumulate more.   Those are the real dark ages of Bitcoin cycle. Price dont go down, but people are losing hope it will ever go up.

We are in a bear market and there is no way around that, a bear market is one where the prices fall and the investors begin to have doubts about their investment, the price went from 20k to 6k so we fit that part of the definition and many people are having doubts about bitcoin and if they are going to recover their money, so we fit the second part of the definition as well.

If you are looking at the whole year chart of bitcoin or crypto market we can easily say that we are still on top compare to the previous year but if you see the chart this year we can say that bear market is the trend this year. $20k price of bitcoin might be a result of price manipulation but many people are trap on that level so this make investors trust fall also. This bear trend will end if there’s a big good news out in the market.

Even if you count start of the bull run as the end of bear market I think that 28 months limit is a bit to pessimistic.  For the bottom I would put latest possible date at the end of 2019. But it should happen way before that.

No one could really tell will it end as Bitcoin price is really unpredictable but hopefully it will start before this month would end as if history will repeat itself in which the Bitcoin start to boom after the Aug 1 fork event. Therefore we will just wait and see until this year would end because if the Bitcoin price will not rise again then expect many will leave this investment by next year.

That is very nice, I can see a lot of people are too much confident about bitcoin price that it is not going to decrease anymore. They think that bitcoin price is already touched its bottom and therefore they do not expect any more decreasing in bitcoin price. I think that such news will increase the confident level of the investors.

I think you are mistaken if you think that the worst is over yet. I suspect

I agree no one can speculate what will be the market price this year. Ever since bitcoin price is unpredictable and we cannot tell how long we can wait when this bear market could ends. Still, many users willingly can wait to rise again.

I give really tiny chance that bottom would be under $2000. Almost none. Bottom under $4000 is way way more likely. But  I did not put much effort in finding that, because I am not interested in prices, but I am interested in times when something happens.  

After April 2013, we only dropped 81% from the high. :P

We also used to talk about 2012 as a bubble back in the old days. We dropped 50% from the highs when it crashed.

Anyway, it really depends if this is a shorter term consolidation like mid 2012 or mid 2013, or a longer term bear market like 2014. The reality is that none of the bubbles will ever look quite the same as one another. We should be prepared for something different.


A multi-year bear market is definitely possible.

The bearish trend isn't just new to us,  we've been like this before and I think we should never be surprised when we experiencing like this. The market is very unpredictable, thus, we never knew when it back into bullish trend again.  It is just a hope to see it in the 4th quarter same thing happen last year.

People still have good expectation from bitcoin price, they are expecting that very soon bitcoin price is going to reach to 20k, and therefore they are still trying to hold their bitcoin and not sell in such a low price.

I think the bear market condition will stop when there is bad news, usually the price will fall very quickly because there are so many traders who panic and sell their assets at very cheap prices.

Like they say, it may happen when no one expect it to happen so its possible that it may happen before the year ends of perhaps in December of next year. But there were already speculation and news of some tokens about thier development which can make them explode in q4 of this year. If we only speculate bitcoin it may took months and month but for some tokens who are ready to release their product it could already be mooning before the year end.

Bad news are just more like an excuse to me for the whales to manipulate the market the more, but contrary to what you said, I do not see how bad news can put a halt to a bear trend. With or without news, the market was meant to take such a hit after the huge bullish activity that happened towards the end of last year and this is just the aftermath since it could not be sustained.

Do not forget however that the same way we have it up there, the same way we are going to have it down with some missing the dip instead of buying in for the long term. No one knows when it will end, we only can know based on what the chart tells us which for now still screams bear alert.

I agree that there is a strong support along the line of $6K, but we can't really tell if we have bottom this year because everyone is waiting for the final verdict on Van Ecyk / Solid X ETF proposal. I know that everyone calls not to get excited or don't get infatuated with this hype.

Yes you're right mate, the bull market should be waited and as part of Bitcoin community development. We as traders, should help other people whose newly been able to adopt digital currency to have faith and strong determinations. Well, selling in a low price is one thing no one in their sane mind should be thinking of anyway. The market may not have reached the bottom, but I can sense we are getting close.
Now, getting close could be $3000 or lower, but for what is glaring, we are strictly in a bear trend still and until we possibly start forming a higher high and higher low before that sentiment can change which for now, we still have the opposite. we have to be more patient to wait and see the possibilities of bitcoin price to rise and showed green again. i think the price will always stable in approx $6000 - $8000 until the end of 2018, but i hope the beginning of 2019 all of cryptocurrency price start to climb graudally and will never dumped as we have experienced after Q1 of 2018 until now. unless, we see the most potential project that will attract more investor to create huge demand of cryptocurrency, after ETF rejected we need breakthrough project to easily pump the price.

No one cannot predict the market situation, for past two days the market was in green. Again today the market is in red the value becomes down. Present situation gives panic to hold the bitcoin, because we dont know when will the market recover. Hope and petience only need at this time. Just hold the coin for long time once the price will touch the moon you can sell and earn good profit. May be the bear market will end by this month and the bull market will come by the end of this year.

As far as i know, no one knows it yet but there are certain things that might going to happen in order to stop the bear market. If there's a hype and good news that keeps on spreading then it is the time that the market will start to change its course. We're not even really in a bear market anymore, and haven't been for a while. We're in a neutral market. Bitcoin went under $6000 7 months ago and despite three more tries throughout the year to knock it below that price it hasn't once gone below that level. We've just been scraping the bottom of the market for 7 months. But as the highs get lower and lower ($11.7k -> $9.8k -> $8.4k -> $7.3k?) we are getting closer and closer to the time when even the bears will accept that their is nowhere to go but up. The lower highs in conjunction with the consistent bottom at ~$6k means the crash is getting less and less volatile.

Basically we are probably out of the crashing phase since there is no room to crash anymore, and we may spend a bit of time just chillin' on the bottom in the $6000s and $7000s (might be at the start of that right now) before the market accepts that now is the last time to buy in low before it starts heading up again. I'd give a 6 month time frame in which the market finally accepts there is nowhere to crash anymore and it finishes scrapping along the bottom and the next long gradual bull market begins. Basically expect by beginning of 2019 to be moving up and away from the $6000 bottom for good, possibly going back across $10k around the first month or two of 2019.

What is clear is that it will take a long time to get up from the bearish market, and whether or not it will end, maybe only time can answer, so at least to be more patient and wait for price changes or high jumps to occur

We haven't seen bitcoin reach or even break the $10k resistance in a while, so the best hope for now is just to hold until the market came back.

I was just thinking. It seems like bitcoin is decreasing almost none but altcoins lose 10% of value. Altcoins act like a buffer so Bitcoin cant lose that much value. This should sort of prolong bear market because it just cant come to the final capitulation before altcoins are totally dried out.

In the long term, I do not expect trend reversal to be any close. The thing here is that we will still be in a downtrend for a while until we bottom out finally and the market will get to consolidate for a very long time which in this case would be a very good accumulation period for the whales and those who are smart, and then in this period, a lot of people who are weak and was just looking at getting rich fast will get frustrated and simply bail out, and then the volume kicks in after the long consolidation and we start seeing a higher high and low over again.

Yes we have been on a bear market for a long time and yes we have not gone up in price properly for months now. However without breaking the new people into bitcoin and getting the volume higher we will not see an increase at all.

just hope that the market can rise soon or in the next month. but I guess the sign of the market to rise is coming and I hope that it is starting to moves to the high price again. but we still need to wait for the price to increase higher and I think from now on, every coin in the market will increase although there is a possibility for each coin to get down again. we don't have to be panic if somehow, the price is down again and we can buy more for each coin we had so we can wait for a while to sell at the high price later.

I think it is a decent chance the bottom is already in. So if the bear market is defined as ending when the lowest price occurs then I'd say it may have ended in December. Regardless we're in the bottoming out period now and have been for 3 months, I don't really care one way or another if it drops a bit lower at some point in the next half year or if the bottom was in December. This is the transition period between crash and bull market, this is accumulation time. As to when the bull market will begin and bitcoin starts permanently moving out of this 3000s range I'd just say sometime during second half of the year, probably not until the Fall.
