Pretty sure there's one tho its not yet released to the public. Just look at the hashrates on few of the pools, its pretty obvious. Probably modified from DRK gpuminer, started seeing those hashrates shortly after that was released.

I tried mining with groestl hash and got nothing after 12 hours. Difficulty is too HIGH for CPU. Will try with quark algo.

Regarding Myriadcoin, I'm mining it with CPU, groestl and qubit, and I've got quite a few coins (I have many servers).

We know Qubit is minable with GPU, but according to the dev, the reason why they added groestl is because it's not GPU friendly.

How did you mine it? Solo or pool? Diff is too high for solo unless you have many servers

So do I, and I do not have many servers, but in my eyes it is one of the most profitable ones for CPU mining - groestl works ok for me, qubit I am not sure, only started mining it yesterday.

What is your mining rate? I used 8 cores for about 12 hours and got nothing.

Besides, groestl will have GPU miner soon. Groestl is one of the algos used on Darkcoin and that has a GPU miner (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475795.0). The author says here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422149.msg5345339#msg5345339) it would be easy to modify the miner for Chaincoin by moving algos around. Based on that, it could be done for a pure groestl implementation as well. 

With 8 cores you won't get anything right now, you need pool, but there aren't yet for groestl, I believe.

OMG there is no profitable CPU coin right now? This situation is awkward :-\ I have nice CPU power, but no one coin is worth to mine :(

I have CPU's with no AES-NI support so MMC is no profitable to me. I have 20 Intel Core 2 Quad CPU's. I tested XPM and this coin is no profitable for me. Most profitable coin was Quark 4 months ago and PTS 3 month ago... Now is poverty for CPU mining :-\

I put hope in Heavycoin. It will start 8 March at 12 pm, maybe this coin will be good for us...

Please add Fatecoin to your list as CPU/GPU. It is very CPU friendly since the diff is much lower than if you tried to mine it with GPU.  Thank you.

myriad coin although it's not exclusively cpu it is a cpu minable coin with a fair shot for cpu miners also we're considering replacing groestl or qubit with xpm with a more solid cpu algo.

I would like to hear come feedback from CPU miners on this thread, too.

What would you suggest new miners, which coins are better to mine for common desktops/servers/PC Farms, how much do you get per day, etc.

I'm trying many CPU coins right now as a totally new miner and can also share my limited experience so far.

Animecoin is a clone from Quark, but it uses modified algorithm so it is not GPU-mineable.

Are the hashrates of GPU and CPU in same standard?
For example, my ATI7850 got 2.7m, and my E3-1230-V3 got 1.3m, so each 7850 is like two E3, is that correct?

I took at deeper look on cpucoinlist situation, and here are some conclusions:

1). Yet AMD FX-8320 is not the low end one, it is definitely not the latest and most efficient CPU. It has been released back in October, 2012, but CPU technology advanced a lot since that time with introduction of AVX2 instruction set and Intel Haswell microarchitecture. GPU used for comparison was released one year later, and this heriod is a huge leap in modern data processing technology.

2). In my optimizations I target latest CPUs with lates features, and clear lead at the moment is Intel with their Haswell microarchitecture. AMD FX-8320 is not primary target for optimization, it actually benefits from optimizations targeted to Intel Sandy/Ivy Bridge CPUs (they are limited to AVX as well). I would suggest comparing AMD r9 280X GPU against Intel Xeon E3-1270v3 or i7 4770k CPUs, which have similar (or even significantly lower) price [hash pre $ invested] (I don't mind power consumption) [hash per watt].

3) Newer Haswell Refresh CPUs are coming (or came) in $300 price range, that will bring even more performance boost to CPU mining.

4). When using yam miner it is very important to ensure that memory subsystem on the testing platform is configured correct way (i.e. if HugePages enabled and working). This may lead to nearly 2x performance difference on some coins (especially affected are MemoryCoin, ProtoShares and NoirShares; GroestlCoin is not affected so much).

5) CPU/GPU comparison table tinks to outdated version - makes sense to take a look at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hTOUdJZrKqrNDXTIbXgNvJtj_fnpECREcs-eHxaGrZc/edit#gid=256771159 instead (available in the OP at GRS ANN thread at botcointalk)

6) Now, just for comparison: from that table and other tests it is clear that Haswell CPUs do well over 2600 KH/s, and some single-CPU machines go over 2800 KH/s. There is a clear technical explanation for this: FX-8320 uses AVX, and Haswell CPUs use AVX2, which has 2x data width (256-bit registers) compared to AVX (128-bit registers).

Hello All,

Following a disappointing result when btc-mike tested the latest YAM miner on an AMD FX-8320 hashing groestlcoin (1300Khs), and  being a firm believer that Grøstl is the ultimate PoW I forwarded these results to yvg1900, the YAM miner dev. yvg1900 said he'd take a closer look at the findings.

Earlier on today yvg1900 replied with some comments in a PM to me. Being very correct and diligent yvg1900 suggested I should confer with btc-mike before re-publishing the comments in a public forum. I agreed and notified btc-mike of our wish to make public these comments, seeking his approval in doing so.

Of course btc-mike being a sound chap was quite happy to continue the dialogue and requested I publish yvg1900's thoughts in this thread. I agreed and he agreed I'd re-pot this in the Groestlcoin thread:

I know: RSC, ALC, Primio, but for sure there are more. Maybe some of them are without exchanges (yet?) or with other 'issues' but they are CPU coins and (maybe!?) worth mentioning in some way.

I love the set-up of your site btc-mike, but why is YAC still in the eliminated column... :(  I can understand why it was there at one point, but NFactor is high enough for CPU to be relatively very profitable...

Most CryptoNote coins use CryptoNight for the PoW hash algorithm.

Boolberry uses a unique PoW hash algorithm called Wild Keccak. The algorithm pulls data from the blockchain and hashes it.

I am going to write a how-to soon. For immediate help, ask in the Boolberry thread.

It appears there is still no stand alone miner for it so you have to mine with simpleminer. Here (http://poolberry.org/#getting_started) is some straight forward instructions for mining.

boolberry isn't really cpu only, there just isn't a public version of the gpu miner. cbuchner1 and friends are privately mining with nvidia gpu miner.
