Title: Will Bitcoin Gold have a future?
Post by: Abiky on August 17, 2018, 07:07:06 PM
Bitcoin Gold seems to have a solid development team, as it has managed to quickly implement an ASIC-resistant algorithm after the release of Bitmain's miners for Equihash. If it remains a GPU-only mineable coin, then it would be much more decentralized in the mining process than both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. However, its success will only depend on the level of adoption it would experience in the mainstream world.

Considering that it has all the same features as Bitcoin, with the differences being an ASIC-resistant algorithm and better privacy, it could be well worth the investment after all.

Nonetheless, do you think Bitcoin Gold (BTG) will have a future or not? :)

I didn't know they have already made their coin ASIC resistant which I think is a very good decision. As someone who used to mine BTG a short period of time in the past, I welcome this move. On the other side, being a bitcoin fork it's hard to predict anything about this coin's future. It needs something to stand out from the rest of altcoins to have a future. I see from their roadmap that they plan to introduce Schnorr Signatures, and improve privacy. All good moves in my opinion.

Of course one of the main thing that we can consider on as the team of enthusiasts which would be hardly pressing through to make the project right and working, so in your opinion bitcoin gold is having that it would be prospective.

Soon Bitmain will conduct its ICO. Interestingly they will take Bitcoin Gold.

Cryptocurrency can significantly rise in price, after all new ASIC are necessary for earnings

For it to have a future must give a clear proof of being able to attract a much greater degree of hashing power or risks having an attack at any moment. It is the ASIC issue.

Yeah initially i thought that btg is not a worthwhile project and even they had terrible bugs in their code at the start as well but it is really exciting to know that they have active developer team and now they are rolling out everything very smoothly, i wish them all the best and i think btg investors will benefit well in the coming months.

I think all coins have a future especially for coins that are developed, it all depends on the market because basically the market conditions greatly affect the price of coins and even potential coins will become cheap when the market is like this so we just wait because there will be a time when everything will be fine

Well, I think BTG has very good potential if we buy it now and we have to remember how much the best BTG coins are and see the current price and so far there is no big pump on BTG, of course it makes us think whether this coin has the potential big if we hold it from now.

BTC gold is yet another alt.Do you know how many coins was released what are bitcoin fork in fact.In that cases there was not all that noise.there was time when alts based on bitcoin chain were released one by one now we have ico's much more easy to do and much more profitable

From how I look at BTG it's just a forked coin, it won't have a good future as the majority of the crypto users will continue to use Bitcoin over Bitcoin Gold or any forked coin. There's no reason to have Bitcoin Gold except for trading. Also i've heard that BTG suffered some double spending problems few months back and the price of BTG is regressing when you look at the price chart it started trading at $300+ and now it's at $20.

That's certainly true, mate. Being a Bitcoin fork, it would need to provide innovation to stand among the rest of altcoins in existence. It seems that BTG will be a privacy-focused coin all along, since it will implement Schnorr Signatures in the future. The recent hard fork did make BTG ASIC-resistant to a unique algorithm called Equihash-BTG. It has more memory requirements which makes current ASICs released by Bitmain totally useless.

Surprisingly, this is one of the Bitcoin forks that it is quite undervalued, IMO. It's even better than Bitcoin Cash, since it can be mined with GPUs, and has strong privacy features like Zero-Knowledge Proofs. However, its price will depend whenever people have interest in acquiring the coin or not for years to come. Perhaps, with all that's coming in their roadmap, it could have a bright future after all. Just my thoughts ;D

This is the fiurst time i will be reading that Bitcoin gold has made its ASIC-resistant algorithm, which will definitely give it a edge. This will also help it to secure a good future. I think with this, investing in it is a good decision.

At first I was not very sure about BTG but after your post, I came to know that BTG has a clear project, so I think BTG has a future like Bitcoin or ETH, of course alcoint has their own weaknesses and strengths, only I know BTG the movement is slow, slowly but surely rises too, makes people not hesitate to invest in BTG.

It's been delisted from Bittrex trading platform:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/why-bitcoin-gold-got-delisted-from-bittrex

And there's a lot of things going on with BTG which put in on bad light and recent double-spending attack may have been the worst that could happen to any coin. With that said, it will take some time for BTG to recover from such attacks so its very unclear what's the future for them.

Regardless of how bitcoin Gold is performing in the market right now it is still one of the very top cryptocurrencies out there. I research the team a while back and they are legit and strong. The technology itself is great and it brings real innovation to the Blockchain and not just empty purposeless project.
I like bitcoin gold and it is one if the cryptos I am buying the dip on.

.. then this alone will make BTG a worthwhile investment. Bitmain's adoption of Dash propelled it to the forefront of everyone's conscience. I wasn't even aware that the Darkcoin I heard of a couple years ago had rebranded into Dash and was turning so many heads like it did last year.

Completely agree with you, mate. Bitcoin Gold will become one of those coins you wouldn't want to miss investing into since it has a lot of potential to grow into something big in the future. It has all the goodies of the original Bitcoin but with ASIC resistance, which makes it ideal to mine with GPUs. As this hardware is accessible to anyone (unlike ASICs), I'd have to say that Bitcoin Gold's mining process is much more decentralized than Bitcoin's.

It has great developers and a dedicated community, which could keep this project going for a couple of years from now. Of course, it's still undervalued and under the radar of many serious investors or traders in crypto land, but I believe that it's a hidden gem waiting to blossom at some point in the future. Therefore, it wouldn't hurt to grab a stake of BTG and hodl them for the future. ;)

Exactly. Bitmain will bring free publicity to Bitcoin Gold, which will contribute towards its price and demand in the long term. That's what BTG needs, since it lacks marketing/promotion. By giving it a little boost, people could become aware of a Bitcoin alternative which could be easily mined with a GPU. Since most people have access to GPUs nowadays, it'll be easy to participate into BTG's consensus without spending a lot of money on ASIC hardware. This greatly contributes towards the decentralization of the cryptocurrency, which makes it a better option than Bitcoin, IMO.

Nonetheless, time will tell us what lies ahead with the longevity of Bitcoin Gold within the cryptocurrency market. Just my thoughts ;D

There's no doubt that BTC will be the best coin ever. However, I believe that some forked versions of Bitcoin (like Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold) would succeed in the future. This is because, they have provided unique development and innovation to the blockchain space. Bitcoin Gold has been one of the first (if not the first) cryptocurrencies to adopt an ASIC-Resistant algorithm. While ZCash hasn't done the move yet, Bitcoin Gold has an advantage over it as it uses the same PoW algorithm known as Equihash but with a few modifications to render current ASICs obsolete.

Bitcoin Gold is starting to differentiate itself from other cryptocurrencies as it has provided a unique PoW algorithm for ASIC-resistance. The team's roadmap shows that this cryptocurrency will continue to improve over time. As such, if people see Bitcoin Gold as a better alternative to ZCash due to its ASIC-resistant algorithm, they'll join it causing the price and popularity to increase over time.

Therefore, Bitcoin Gold's future would be dependent on how many people use it and support it within the mainstream world. Because, if it's not useful or unique, it could easily fall just like many other worthless coins in the market today. Just my opinion :)

So far the coin looks to be good but the massive crash in the price of the coin a couple of months ago is not doing well for the coin. There are a good number of investors in the coin which is keeping it alive. I personally am not a fan of hardforked coins but this is one of those that you can be sure will be doing well in the long run you just have to be patient

I do not think so. A coin should take part in a good project to be the future. I do not think that a coin that is fork or similar can remain valuable for a long time. In a few months or years, it will be completely worthless :)

Why are you so bad about bitcoin thinking. Now of course the lull. But if you look at the transaction of the top 100 wallets and analyze what you can expect from the cuts in price. After all, these wallets continue to receive no small amounts in the cue ball. Why would that be all. I think to the growth of this coin.

Ofcourse it has future , but a problem is in the way because of the reason of adoption , here lots of people are already have investment in the Bitcoin , and they know very well that Bitcoin gold is generated coin by the Bitcoin fork , so here Bitcoin is father of Bitcoin gold, so surely it will remain much ebtter for them to have Bitcoin instead of Bitcoin gold .
But surely if in the future we will have lots of limitations with the Bitcoin like mining difficulty and fee problem then surely people will move toward Bitcoin gold .

There are a few Bitcoin forks which have managed to be quite successful after their inception. However, not all of them have been able to remain solid in terms of development and innovation since they're simply copies of the pioneer cryptocurrency. I believe that both Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Cash are unique forks of the original Bitcoin blockchain as they provide their unique visions and purposes in real life. Bitcoin Gold is the ASIC-Resistant version of Bitcoin which can be easily mined with GPUs, while Bitcoin Cash is the "Digital Cash" version of Bitcoin with focus on speed and lower costs per transaction.

Of course, many altcoins are purely speculative, but considering that BTG has implemented an ASIC-Resistant algorithm based of ZCash's Equihash PoW, I'd say that the project is quite innovative. However, without a doubt, it's future might depend on how people support it and use it as a cryptocurrency for mainstream payments. Because, if it lacks the key aspects of any cryptocurrency to survive (adoption, development, and innovation) then it could easily fail within a short time frame.

Nevertheless, I hope that Bitcoin forks such as Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Cash would remain as unique as possible to differentiate themselves from the original Bitcoin blockchain every step of the way. Only that way, they could succeed as they provide something unique for the public. Just my opinion :)

I must say that the decision to implement ASIC resistant is brilliant, on of the main problem in Bitcoin is that small people hold most of the coin because of the ASIC. And Bitcoin Gold know that flaw and fix their side, however, I do not think that Bitcoin Gold can replace Bitcoin in any way, and that is why Bitcoin Gold is not really promising, just like other Bitcoin fork, we don't need any of them because Bitcoin is still strong.

Seeing the development of BTG right now is good, and hopes that if there is a good improvement, the movement is not so fast, so the development team certainly has creative ideas to attract more interested ones. For the BTG value, I feel it is still safe and indeed needs improvement to be more satisfying to the holders.

Agree. Even if Bitcoin Gold's progress is quite slow, compared to other forks such as Bitcoin Cash, it has a huge potential into becoming a mainstream cryptocurrency for the masses. Its latest development has been an ASIC-resistant implementation of the Equihash PoW algorithm, but there's a lot more to this than meets the eye. If devs go accordingly to the project's roadmap, then Bitcoin Gold would become stronger, and reliable as a cryptocurrency for daily transactions.

To differentiate itself from both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, it would need to adopt other unique features to make it stand among the crowd. Because if it's somewhat the same as Bitcoin, then there would be no use for it, as people prefer to deal with the legendary cryptocurrency. What Bitcoin Gold needs is better features, and better marketing/promotion, to reach mainstream adoption at a large scale.

Only then, it would have a certain future, as people worldwide will support the cryptocurrency. Otherwise, it would become another useless Bitcoin fork, without real uses for the mainstream world. Hopefully, that won't be the case, as it's best to have competition in the crypto space, for the advancement of the blockchain industry. Just my thoughts ;D

Each coin has a chance for the surviving but its future depends on the decision about this coin and its community that has a very strong impact on the coin.

Agree. The community would have a strong impact over the future of the coin. If it's widely supported by the community, and actively maintained by its developers, then there's no doubt that it will have a future. Even after being abandoned in development, Bitcoin Gold could still exist within crypto land if the community supports it. Just like Dogecoin, Bitcoin Gold could remain actively traded across the market but without real purpose or uses in life.

Until now, Bitcoin Gold has been keeping up with development compared with most cryptocurrencies that have been abandoned. With the recent implementation of an ASIC-resistant algorithm, Bitcoin Gold could continue to be mined by GPU miners. However, it would need to deliver true innovation to stand as a unique fork among many Bitcoin forks in existence to date.

Therefore, if all goes well, then Bitcoin Gold would have a bright future ahead of it. That would leave us with Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold as truly innovative Bitcoin forks that have real uses in the mainstream world. Just my thoughts ;D

It will have a future only if Bitcoin launches to the moon again. All those forked coins starting with BCH are riding on Bitcoin's popularity. Without it they're nothing, but with it, with enough hype, they will find people willing to invest only because their name starts with Bitcoin and they're much cheaper. There's still people who think that Cheap coins pump higher percentage wise.

Yes. Most of these forks are simply taking advantage of the Bitcoin name to bring confusion within newcomers into cryptocurrency. A good example of this is Bitcoin Cash, which is often referring itself as the original Bitcoin, causing big confusion to those who're starting in the world of cryptocurrencies. While I'd have to admit that Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold have their distinct visions, it's only a matter of time before they either succeed in the long term or fail altogether.

In the case of Bitcoin Gold, it seems that it's starting to distinguish itself from other forks by implementing an ASIC-resistant algorithm. Compared to Bitcoin Cash and the original Bitcoin, Bitcoin Gold can be easily mined with GPUs which gives it a fair advantage in terms of decentralization. While I haven't heard about any other development within BTG, it's nice to know that slowly but surely Bitcoin Gold is becoming a unique Bitcoin fork.

However, as you've said before, it'll rise in value if Bitcoin goes up again. Otherwise, its prices will remain stagnant compared with other cryptocurrencies in the market today. It just needs some promotion/marketing to keep it going for years to come. Therefore, the future of Bitcoin Gold will greatly depend on how people use it in the mainstream world without a doubt. Hopefully, it could remain actively traded in the market for a long time. Just my thoughts ;D

There is nothing that is stopping the coin from having a good future so I do not see any reason why the coin is not going to have a good future, as long as the team behind the coin keeps working to make sure that the coin stays in tune with the market and the coin can be able to evolve to the needs of people then I do not see why it won't have a future

I like the idea of bitcoin gold, but its funny that they don't have their mining program or at least participate in developing other mining programs. They are relying on others to adjust claymore, lolminer and others and no real support when things go bad at all!

Exactly. Right now, Bitcoin Gold is not known among many people in the mainstream world. Its slow development and innovation makes it hard to distinguish itself from the original Bitcoin. Also, lack of marketing/promotion plays a huge effect over the cryptocurrency's future. As a result of the recent bear market, BTG prices have been incredibly low. However, it could take off when we least expect it, since many altcoins (if not all) in existence, heavily depend on Bitcoin's price surge to grow.

The way I see it, is that Bitcoin Gold will grow over time, as the original Bitcoin expands in value and popularity. However, it may not take off on its own unless it delivers something unique to the mainstream world. If it's able to distance itself as much as possible from Bitcoin, it'll be better as it would have its own identity within crypto land.

Nevertheless, Bitcoin Gold might have a future after all if it remains solid in development, innovation, and most of all, marketing/promotion to spread its usage worldwide. Just my thoughts ;D

As you said bitcoin gold have a solid team with the helping of that's solid team and continue to develop BTG become strong altcoins in the coinmarket and hope more investors can buy btg increase of demands it's helpful to increase their pirice at the marketplace.

Among Bitcoin's forked coins, only Bitcoin cash is the most futuristic. Others have no strength, except Bitcoin cash or other coins are bad investment products.

You do have a point there, mate. However, I believe that time will tell us whenever a good fork could come out of Bitcoin or not. AFAIK, Bitcoin Cash is the most widely developed Bitcoin fork in existence despite being criticized by many. It has a lot of supporters, and although it's more centralized than the original Bitcoin, it has survived for more than a year since launch. In the case of Bitcoin Gold, it seemed to many as another Bitcoin fork as it didn't provide something unique for the mainstream world.

However, with the implementation of an ASIC-resistant algorithm, that has changed as miners prefer to mine Bitcoin Gold over Bitcoin Cash or Bitcoin, due to its high accessibility with the use of GPUs. This doesn't mean that BTG has a future though, since what determines this is if the same is widely adopted by people in the mainstream world. Considering how many altcoins have emerged with greater tech, and features, it'll be doubtful if Bitcoin Gold could ever have a future.

Nevertheless, the market will react over time as people abandon certain altcoins to take the next big thing. If BTG proves to be solid in development and innovation, then it will last. Otherwise, it'll be the end of it as we know it. Just my opinion :)

I think Bitcoin gold is a former hardfork Bitcoin, just like Bitcoin cash created from Bitcoin fork, so the future of bitcoin gold I think will be good as time goes on and also along with the increase in Bitcoin prices in the exchange market. Because all coins if they have risen from adversity there will be an increase, that is the game.

we cannot guess what will happen in the future, especially in this crypto world that basically anything can happen, and also the market condition that is currently unstable makes it difficult to predict what will happen to a coin crypto, especially now the market situation also not yet recovered, we'll see if BTG will have good prospects after the market recovery occurs.

You do have a point there, mate. The democratization in mining is only a minor improvement compared with most popular altcoins in the market today. For Bitcoin Gold to prove its uniqueness, it would need to deliver constant innovation by implementing features that cannot be found anywhere else. Even after making modifications to the Equihash algorithm for GPU mining, Bitcoin Gold hasn't seen an upsurge in price or popularity. If it keeps that way, then it will die, unfortunately.

However, if Bitcoin Gold proves itself to be a solid altcoin during time, then it will have a future without a doubt. With new Bitcoin forks emerging almost every day, it'll be hard to distinguish which one's unique and promising, since they share many things in common. Compared with other Bitcoin forks, Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Cash seem to have the greatest number of users.

Nevertheless, Bitcoin Gold prices are incredibly low these days, and could either rise in the future (if it becomes popular and largely adopted by people) or fall until it becomes worthless. Just my opinion :)

That's certainly true, mate. It won't be easy for Bitcoin Gold to compete with other cryptocurrencies, as they have implemented several advanced features. There is nearly one altcoin for nearly everything in life such as privacy, smart contracts, store of value, and even passive income. Since Bitcoin Gold is a fork of the original Bitcoin, it shares many of the characteristics of its father. The only difference is the type of PoW algorithm used which is much friendlier to GPU's than Bitcoin's SHA-256 PoW algorithm.

However, there are other altcoins which are easily mineable with GPUs and are ASIC-resistant like BTG. Ravencoin is one good example of an altcoin which is ASIC-resistant and mineable by anyone with a GPU. As such, Bitcoin Gold needs to deliver something innovative to the blockchain industry, or it will simply fail over time as user interest decreases over time.

Nevertheless, there are only two Bitcoin forks which have remained solid for some time. Such forks are Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold. However, only one of them might survive while the other goes down the drain. Only time will tell us which fork could maintain development and innovation within the mainstream world. Just my thoughts ;D

Any Bitcoin-related crypto like Bitcoin Gold (BTG) can only survive and thrive when the BTC hard fork succeeds. As we all know, Bitcoin Gold is a fork of the original Bitcoin blockchain. The only reason I believe why it's still valuable it's because of the "Bitcoin" brand. Of course, it may have implemented an ASIC-resistant algorithm, but other cryptocurrencies have done the same too. If BTG wants to have a bright future, it would need to deliver something unique to the masses that cannot be found elsewhere. Otherwise, people would be reluctant to invest into a cryptocurrency which resembles the original Bitcoin in every way.

Considering it's an altcoin, it depends on Bitcoin's price movement for it to either rise or fall. Sometimes, BTG is one the green zone while other alts are declining. I believe that if BTG stays this way without delivering true innovation, then it would remain actively traded across several cryptocurrency exchanges (just like Dogecoin) but with no real utility at all (just speculation). Therefore, BTG's future will highly depend on efforts from both developers and individuals supporting/using it. Just my opinion :)

Bitcoin Gold definitely has a future. It has respected team behind it that makes me believe in it. Its success is also quite dependent on the rate of bitcoin. They are interconnected I would say. One coin is influencing another one.

Bitcoin Gold has been left under the radar for quite some time now. Most people have focused on the Bitcoin Cash Hash Wars than other BTC forks. While this came to an end, Bitcoin Gold still hasn't gathered the level of popularity as other leading forks (such as BCH and BSV). Of course, BTG has a dedicated development team to make the cryptocurrency as reliable and secure as possible for daily payments. However, for it to achieve true success, it would need mainstream adoption.

Otherwise, Bitcoin Gold's future will be such were it'll be used for pure speculation, rather than as a useful cryptocurrency. It could become the same as Dogecoin, where it's still alive and actively traded within many cryptocurrency exchanges, but without traction in development or innovation.

Nonetheless, it's true that BTC influences BTG's price across the market. Since BTG is an altcoin, most altcoins depend on BTC's value to rise for them to gain traction. It would be surprising if either BTG or any other BTC fork could become independent of Bitcoin's price. Despite this, BTG has great potential into becoming something unique for the masses to enjoy especially with its ASIC-resistant algorithm. Just my opinion :)

Bitcoin will always be the best cryptocurrency that cannot be replaced for a long time. I am now considering the option of investing in that cryptocurrency, which will be useful in the future. This is definitely not bitcoin gold

I personally don't see Bitcoin Gold moving forward in the gaming industry, artificial intelligence, or virtual reality. Bitcoin Gold for the withdrawal fee is the same as Bitcoin and that is why the future of Bitcoin Gold is still under big question. But we can definitely say that there is almost no chance to replace Bitcoin.

Bitcoin cash and Bitcoin Gold are Hardfork from BItcoin, like the term if the child has similarities with parents. Bitcoin doesn't need to be asked about its quality and in my opinion BTG and BCH are perfecting BItcoin's shortcomings. maybe now there are still not many people who buy it but I am sure that in the future it will be the top coin investment and many ICO projects use BTC tokens.

This is one of the most common questions on the forum. Of course bitcoin will have a future. This is not the first or the last major drop in the market. The market has been growing for several years, now a year or two will fall

Yes. There are too many Bitcoin forks available on the market today. Their main intent is to fork off the original Bitcoin blockchain to make free money. But in the end, most of these forks will die due to lack of support from their developers and the community itself. The world doesn't need another copy of the original Bitcoin blockchain, but rather something unique that would provide real usability to everyday people.

Although Bitcoin Gold had some small development lately, I believe that's not enough if it wants to stay ahead in the game. The crypto world is changing faster than we could think, and if cryptocurrencies stay behind in the latest technologies, they will be doomed to failure. As such, BTG only has an ASIC-resistant algorithm, but everything else is like Bitcoin and ZCash. Bitcoin Gold needs true innovation, otherwise, it would be forgotten as another useless Bitcoin fork.

Nonetheless, time will tell us what will happen with these forks on the market. Just my opinion :)

Maybe. However, if BTG cannot keep up with constant development and innovation, then it'll quickly die just as other useless altcoins in the market. There are many privacy-oriented cryptocurrencies nowadays, as well as, some that are ASIC-resistant. Bitcoin Gold would need to keep up with the competition if it wants to survive. Otherwise, it'll stay behind while other altcoins with constant development take the lead on the market. As such, Bitcoin Gold would remain as another "Dogecoin" while altcoins such as Ethereum, Cardano, and Litecoin will remain highly supported by their communities.

Nonetheless, we cannot determine with certainty if BTG would have a future or not. If it at least has some nodes, miners, and exchanges trading it, then it'll survive for a long time. Just my thoughts ;D

I believe that most Bitcoin forks would become worthless within a couple of years from now. Of course, if they could keep up with constant development and innovation, then they could survive for a long time. Despite this, the only winner will be Bitcoin alongside other altcoins which are not based on Bitcoin's codebase directly. This includes Ethereum, NEM, Cardano, NEO, EOS, Stellar, and Ripple. There's a slight chance that Bitcoin Gold could remain on crypto land due to its ASIC resistance, but it won't reach farther if it doesn't provide real uses for the mainstream world.

The design of Bitcoin Gold is purely based off Zcash (with its privacy features) and Bitcoin (with the same limited supply). There are already many coins on the market, which serve the exact same purpose of BTG. But who knows? Perhaps, Bitcoin Gold will have a future and it's just a hidden gem that's bound to shine at the right time.

Nonetheless, I believe that many Bitcoin forks had success only because of the Bitcoin name/brand. Only time will tell if they would gain mainstream adoption or not. Just my opinion :)

Well, Bitcoin Gold has a dedicated development team and community behind it. Everything will depend on how popular and widely adopted the cryptocurrency would become in the mainstream world. With thousands of cryptos available on the market, BTG would need to compete against them to provide a unique medium of exchange for anyone around the world. The most interesting fact about Bitcoin Gold is that it's ASIC-resistant. This means, that it's much easier to mine than Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin, and any other Bitcoin fork.

If by any means, Bitcoin Gold lacks development and innovation, then it would simply become "Dogecoin 2.0" where people would simply use it as a speculative cryptocurrency. Being a Blockchain itself, it'll survive if it has at least 1 node and miner on the network. Therefore, BTG's future as well as another cryptocurrency's future is quite uncertain. Just my thoughts ;D

That applies to any other cryptocurrency we know and love today. While Bitcoin Gold promises to be an ASIC-resistant cryptocurrency, there are already many cryptocurrencies on the market which provide the same feature. Which is why, I believe that if BTG wants to survive for a long time, it would need to deliver something innovative and unique not available elsewhere. Otherwise, it'll become just another Bitcoin fork with nearly the same features as the pioneer cryptocurrency.

Nonetheless, Bitcoin Gold seems to be quite a bargain these days compared with other leading Bitcoin forks (like Bitcoin Cash). If it continues to provide development, then it'll be worth the investment. Just my opinion :)

That's certainly true, mate. Each time BTC declines in price, so does BTG. Since BTG is an altcoin and a Bitcoin fork, it depends largely on Bitcoin's success within the mainstream world. Of course, BTG has some features that makes it attractive as a cryptocurrency for daily payments. However, there are also many other altcoins which fulfil the same purpose as BTG.

Which means, that if BTG doesn't improve over time, then it could easily become replaced by better cryptocurrencies with a wider user base. As with any cryptocurrency on the market, we can never predict BTG’s future due to the uncertainty present within the blockchain industry. If we as users of BTG support it every step of the way, then it will survive for a long time. Otherwise, BTG could become Dogecoin 2.0 as another speculative cryptocurrency with no future at all.

Nonetheless, time will tell us which cryptocurrencies will become largely dominant on the market, and which cryptocurrency becomes useless and abandoned by its community. So far, BTG has been doing great, but it could change in a blink of an eye. Just my opinion :)

It takes times for any cryptocurrency (not limited to Bitcoin Gold) to blossom across the market. While BTG is relatively new, there are already many altcoins with better support and development than it. Bitcoin Gold needs active development, innovation, and marketing/promotion to stand the test of time. Otherwise, it'll become another useless Bitcoin fork with no real purpose at all.

BTG may have privacy features, and the same design of Bitcoin, but there are other altcoins which are the same. For example, Bitcoin Private is another cryptocurrency which provides the same level of privacy as BTG with the same design of the original Bitcoin. Which means, that BTG would need to deliver something unique not found elsewhere if it wants to survive. Else, people would not be motivated to invest into this cryptocurrency for the long term.

Nonetheless, Bitcoin Gold may have a bright future after all simply because it carries the "Bitcoin" brand/name. Nearly every altcoin which has the "Bitcoin" brand (like Bitcoin Cash), have gathered some popularity across the crypto market. Which means, that perhaps BTG would survive as a cryptocurrency for daily payments for quite some time. Just my thoughts ;D

There are many coins that are ASIC-resistant like VertCoin, but why we should use Bitcoin Gold? What is the main difference?
Explain to newbie why we have so many Bitcoins, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Diamond and so on. All of them are useless except the real one - Bitcoin (Bitcoin Core).

I disagree bitcoin gold is just another coin that is trying to take advantage of the popularity of bitcoin to try to make a name for itself, the developers should be ashamed of stealing the name of bitcoin for their own purposes, they may get some profits for what they are doing but the damage that they are doing to the community and to all of those newcomers that may think that the coin that they are buying is in fact the real bitcoin is huge.

the team of developers of the Bitcoin gold until now I think pretty well in carrying out their work. a few times though underrated but bitcoin gold can give you a shock pump that can make it into coins that are taken into account. but it will take time for the long term can feel the great changes of these coins because if compared to its parent and siblings then look pretty much no difference.

Well, I think BTG has very good potential if we buy it now and we have to remember how much the best BTG coins are and see the current price and so far there is no big pump on BTG, of course it makes us think whether this coin has the potential big if we hold it from now.

We don't have the assurance really if this coin has the potential to be bullish soon. Bitcoin Gold is far from the best bitcoin hard fork which is Bitcoin Cash. Though, bitcoin gold might be profitable, people will still consider Bitcoin cash instead of it.

That's the point. Vertcoin is already ASIC-resistant, and so does Ravencoin. With the various number of altcoins competing against each other in terms of ASIC-resistance, and innovative features, it'll be hard for Bitcoin Gold to get somewhere. Besides, there are many Bitcoin forks in existence which haven't served a real purpose in life. The only one from the list of forks you've mentioned that has some chance of survival is Bitcoin Cash.

Other than that, most Bitcoin forks would die if they cannot provide real uses for the mainstream world. Bitcoin Gold may have ASIC-resistance and privacy, but it would need more than that to stay ahead in the game. The key towards the survival of any cryptocurrency is developer and community support. Hence, if BTG loses those key aspects, it won't have a future at all. Just my opinion :)

Bitcoin Gold uses its own platform, meaning that it does not depend on third party platforms. The development of Bitcoin Gold for the future depends on the team. They can create new things according to their own desires, so as to improve future development easier than coins that use third party platforms. In my opinion, Bitcoin Gold will one day be a good digital asset, just like the development of Bitcoin.

No one is interested in privacy. Having a better probably than bitcoin doesn’t mean that it will do better ,cause there are already coins with far more better privacy but still hasn’t made it to the top of the list. Bitcoin Gold hasn’t been doing well right from the beginning and I don’t even think it will do better , but we shall all see. And when it does better, we can then talk about whether to invest in it or not.

The real bitcoin has lost too but not like them. They have lost like 1/12! So bitcoin gold would be very bad investment for me and i would never do that..

A great many people have concentrated on the Bitcoin Cash Hash Wars than other BTC forks. While this arrived at an end, Bitcoin Gold still hasn't accumulated the dimension of prevalence as other driving forks, (BCH and BSV). Obviously, BTG has a devoted improvement group to make the cryptographic money as solid and secure as feasible for every day installments. In any case, for it to make genuine progress, it would require standard reception.

That's certainly true, mate. The need for privacy is not as much as I've thought it would be, since many people don't care about it. This has been proven with Zcash, where a huge majority of transactions were performed via transparent addresses, instead of shielded addresses. Bitcoin Gold being a privacy coin, like most other privacy coins in the market, would need to deliver something innovative to the world or it will fail.

Many coins such as Bitcoin Private, PIVX, Zcoin, and Zcash, provide the same privacy features as Bitcoin Gold. The only difference is that Bitcoin Gold is an ASIC resistant coin, but there are also other altcoins which are resistant to ASICs such as Vertcoin and Ravencoin. Right now, we haven't heard much about BTG probably because it lacks proper marketing/promotion. The dev team needs to provide a well-thought roadmap, following constant developments over time, to give a sense of activity within the cryptocurrency project.

Other than that, BTG may remain as a speculative cryptocurrency (like Dogecoin) in the future. With new cryptocurrencies popping out every day, the future of BTG becomes uncertain. Just my thoughts ;D

Agree. There are many Bitcoin forks out there, which have nearly the exact same vision and purpose of the original Bitcoin (BTC). Most of them are just quick money grabs by their devs (like Bitcoin SV). Others are providing constant development and innovation but aren't used at a large scale (like Bitcoin Cash). Which is why, Bitcoin will prevail in the end, while most altcoins will fail. Only a select few will remain actively traded on the market like Ethereum, and Litecoin due to their proven technologies, and most of all, mainstream adoption.

Right now, Bitcoin Gold's future is uncertain just as with many Bitcoin forks in existence today. If BTG wants to succeed, it would need to provide something unique and truly innovative not found elsewhere. Otherwise, many people will prefer to use the leading cryptocurrencies than Bitcoin Gold. Just my opinion :)

Agree. Bitcoin Gold is way better than Bitcoin Cash, simply because it has decentralization in mind. Bitcoin Cash's Hash Wars back in November 2018, had shown how centralized the cryptocurrency is by making use of checkpoints. No wonder why Bitcoin SV couldn't make a reorganization of the BCH blockchain, due to such feature activated by ABC devs. Despite this, there hasn't been a similar situation with Bitcoin Gold. If it maintains itself as a decentralized cryptocurrency, then it'll survive for sure. Otherwise, it'll become like the rest of the Bitcoin forks in existence where they're useless without any purpose in life.

BTG could have a future, if people continue to support it. However, it hasn't gone to new heights, because it lacks the innovation needed to stand among the leading cryptocurrencies on the market today. Which is why, Bitcoin (BTC) will always remain on top, while most of its forks would fade into oblivion. Just my thoughts ;D

Yes. It's unfortunate, but the reality. Many Bitcoin forks just end up being abandoned by their communities and developers, due to their lack of usage within the mainstream world. While Bitcoin Gold has managed to remain in the top 30 cryptocurrencies, it has struggled to reach the level of popularity and adoption Bitcoin has. The only thing that can save Bitcoin Gold from disappearing in the future, is its community.

Otherwise, if it lacks development, innovation, and user support, then there will be no future for BTG except as being a speculative cryptocurrency. Considering that we're still in a bear market, BTG's prices keep going down day by day. As for Bitcoin Cash, it's future is highly uncertain especially after the ABC team decided to use centralized checkpoints during the Hash War on Nov 2018. Many people have decided to abandon it because it violated Blockchain's true principles of decentralization. Which means, that if it continues to lose users, it could die in the future. Just my thoughts ;D

Bitcoin gold which used to have a good development, but now the community is starting to decline so that the value decreases and can only reach the top 30 coins in CMC. So I think the developer must be able to convince the community to keep holding it and make creative ideas so that the value gets better again.

Exactly. Bitcoin Gold and several other Bitcoin forks have taken advantage of the Bitcoin name/brand with the purpose of obtaining publicity and popularity within the mainstream world. Most of these forks were created with the main purpose of obtaining free money (as BTC hodlers will benefit from the fork obtaining the same amount of coins they had on the original chain). Now we have Bitcoin SV which forked from the original Bitcoin Cash blockchain, and who knows which other forks will emerge in the future.

Bitcoin Gold is no exception, as it hasn't delivered something truly innovative for the mainstream world to enjoy. Its privacy and ASIC-resistant features are widely available in other cryptocurrencies we know and love today. Everything else about BTG is the same as the original Bitcoin (BTC). The only fork that's been a little different is Bitcoin Cash (BCH). However, I'm afraid that the rest of the pack will just fade away into oblivion with no real purpose in life.

Therefore, it's hard to say if Bitcoin Gold will have a future at all, based on current events. Just my opinion :)

That's certainly true, mate. Copies will never become better than the original. No matter how hard they try, they'll always be considered inferior from the original. Most people are familiar with Bitcoin due to its branding/recognition over the years in the blockchain industry. It's the first, original cryptocurrency that has brought Blockchain technology to the world. Even if now there are many altcoins and Bitcoin forks which are superior in terms of speed and transaction costs, Bitcoin is still the winner.

I believe that the main reason Bitcoin forks were created, was to make some profit. Bitcoin Cash was the first Bitcoin fork and it gave "free money" to hodlers of Bitcoin. Other devs saw the chance or opportunity of making money and decided to launch other forks of the Bitcoin blockchain (like Bitcoin Diamond, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Private, etc). However, because such forks are almost identical to Bitcoin (and they carry the Bitcoin brand/name), they're not as attractive as other prominent altcoins (like Ethereum) to people in the mainstream world.

As such, Bitcoin Gold's future may be only driven by the success of the original Bitcoin. It doesn't have anything unique from other cryptocurrencies, apart from carrying the Bitcoin name. Just my thoughts ;D

I think BTG has a great future. Currently it's holding 28th position in the coinmarketcap. Price is around $10.50 It's listed on more than 10 exchanges. which is good enough for a crypto. BTG has an amazing team of intelligence.

No matter how much I want to believe it, nothing good will ever happen because BTC is the only project that has any meaning today. Only BTC now can really defeat all those dark forces that stand against BTC.

That's certainly true, mate. I believe that the reason for this, is because people trust more the original Bitcoin (BTC) than any other fork to date. Copies will never be the same as the original. They may try to improve upon the existing technology of the original project, but they'll never get the mainstream adoption/recognition they aim for. As such, I believe that only one Bitcoin will survive in the long term.

The odds are still in favor of BTC, because it's resilient, decentralized, and trusted by many people worldwide. To say if Bitcoin Gold has a future, it's quite uncertain. Until today, BTG has been declining in price, as well as, other Bitcoin forks. There hasn't been any update in development or innovation (as far as I'm aware), making Bitcoin Gold another Bitcoin fork/copy as the rest of the other forks in the market today.

Nonetheless, with many Bitcoin forks available, BTG could either disappear or become useless in the future if it doesn't provide true development and innovation. Just my thoughts ;D

Because all of these forks are shitty coins. These non sense coins only trying to grab the demand from bitcoin but they are all failed to do that. So many people even called these coins as scam coin because some of them have pre mined coin for the creators.

I think that the division by Bitcoin Gold arose from the moment there are doubts about decentralization and Bitcoin's value reserve capacity, but if these issues are solved, basically there is no need to have two Bitcoin as a Gold concept! I believe that Bitcoin may be what every person, company or institution wants, initially thought of as a form of payment, Bitcoin is something much more complex than any initial thinking.

I think that Bitcoin Gold will continue its development in future. It will not disappear anywhere of course. But at the same time I know some other cryptocurrencies which are more interesting and contain greater potential in itself.

We'll see. As new cryptocurrencies emerge over time, older cryptos that cannot keep up with the competition will become abandoned by the people. Not every Bitcoin fork will succeed, except for those that are constantly active in development and innovation. So far, Bitcoin Gold was among the first cryptocurrencies to implement an ASIC-resistant version of Zcash's Equihash PoW algorithm. While I haven't heard much about BTG lately, it has potential for growth if its community and dev team support it every step of the way.

Considering how many Bitcoin forks there are on the market, it's hard to say if Bitcoin Gold will have a future. This could be greatly determined by watching transaction activity within any Bitcoin fork's blockchain. Until now, Bitcoin Cash has been the most active fork in terms of transactional activity, in contrast to Bitcoin Gold and several other forks. Which means, that the probability of BTG becoming widely adopted within the mainstream world in the future is very low.

Nonetheless, time will tell us all whenever Bitcoin Gold will truly have some hope or not. Just my thoughts ;D

Yeah. Bitcoin Gold is just like any other cryptocurrency. If it's popular, then it would become highly supported by developers and the community. But, if it's relatively unknown to the mainstream world, then not much will be achieved by the project over the long term. The 2017 craze of the Bitcoin Cash fork has caused many developers to bring their own alternative versions of Bitcoin to the world with the aim to provide better scalability and mainstream acceptance.

So far, none have been able to obtain the level of popularity and mainstream acceptance Bitcoin has had for a long time. The competition becomes stronger each day with many cryptocurrencies fighting one from another in order to take Bitcoin's place as the world's largest crypto by market cap. However, only one Bitcoin will prevail leaving others in the dust. Therefore, Bitcoin Gold may not have a bright future if people stop using it at its entirety. Just my thoughts ;D

I don't think any of the forks of bitcoin have a promising future, because the development of the Lightning Network will render them unnecessary. No matter how much we try to portray this coin, it does not make it better. Most times, what I noticed is that, some of these hardforks tend to have their developments halted.
After creating them and after the team might have obtained their proposed profits, they would stop there and other part of it, would be that the market continue to determine the price.

Exactly. I also believe that the Lightning Network will render many Bitcoin forks completely useless. The main reason this Bitcoin fork craze started, was to create a scalable version of Bitcoin with an increased blocksize (apart from greed). Bitcoin Cash was the one crypto that started it all, but has taken a quite risky path that's been largely untested. On the other hand, Bitcoin's Lightning Network is being tested each day to become a secure, and decentralized second-layer protocol for instant and inexpensive micropayments.

If successful, then there would be no use for an "improved version" of Bitcoin. This means that Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Cash, BitcoinZ, and many other BTC forks would have no reason to exist. With many altcoins available in the market today, competing against each other, it's becoming more difficult for Bitcoin forks to prove their existence.

Nonetheless, Bitcoin Gold could be just another Bitcoin fork with no purpose in real life. Unless people become deeply interested in it, I don't see it going anywhere. Just my thoughts ;D

BTG is a very good coin and now the price is also very good. Even though the price has dropped very far. However, he also has a large trading volume. I hope that in the future this BTG will give like Bitcoin.

Prices are quite attractive for many altcoins nowadays (not limited to Bitcoin Gold). It's easier than ever for any newcomer to get into cryptocurrencies without spending much money out of their pockets. While Bitcoin Gold is no different than most Bitcoin forks out there, it has potential for growth if the community and development team continue to work on it. So far, BTG has been quite silent over the past years with only minor improvements to its blockchain network.

I guess that it'll take quite some time before BTG gets noticed in the mainstream world. If it lacks the adoption needed for it to succeed, then it'll be nothing more than just a mere speculative coin. But, if it has prospects for success, then today's prices are a bargain for tomorrow’s influx of steady income.

Nonetheless, BTG's future is uncertain as I've said many times. With all the Bitcoin forks that have emerged since Bitcoin Cash's inception in 2017, it's becoming harder for BTG to maintain itself as a truly unique cryptocurrency for the world. Just my opinion :)

I think you're right about the value of Lightning Network, but you're short-sighted to think of it only in terms of Bitcoin. With cross-chain atomic swaps, BTC, BTG, and LTC can be exchanged through Lightning Network and all three types of coins can be transacted.

The base code for BTG on Lightning Network (LND) is already in place, but just porting some code and saying "LN exists!" is easy. Creating all the necessary pieces for a living LN ecosystem is much harder - node software, mobile clients, user-friendly GUIs - this take a lot of work and a lot of libraries need to be made available to other developers. That's what the BTG devs are working on.

Current development is focused on the prerequisites for a better future - enabling Compact Block on the full nodes, porting btcsuite, bringing in Neutrino. There are a lot of moving pieces and dependencies to build a working LN ecosystem!

You're right that Bitcoin Cash was created to "improve" Bitcoin with a block size increase. Bitcoin Gold, however, was not created in response to a scalability concern.

It was created to provide a more decentralized alternative. Go to your favorite computer retail store chain, or your corner store - can you buy an ASIC and start mining BTC or BCH? Probably not. OK, can you buy a GPU to mine BTG? Yup.

Better yet... do you know anyone who already has a graphics card - maybe a video designer, probably a gamer? Well, they need to spend $0 to buy equipment for mining BTG. They can just install software, join a pool, and start mining. That's how you lower the barriers to entry. That's decentralization.

BTG isn't competing with Bitcoin or other alts - BTG is building something useful and accessible to developers and people, and the ecosystem is improving steadily. In the future, different kinds of coins and miners can co-exist and interoperate more than ever before, and the questions will be: what are people mining? Buying? Holding? Transacting? BTG is steadily building towards allowing more people to do all of those, while making sure it's accessible to everyone - not just the rich and connected.

Upon checking Bitcoin Gold's site, I've found out that the team has updated the roadmap for the project. One of the upcoming features that has brought to my attention is the adoption of Decentralized Mining Pools. If successfully implemented, it could make mining great again as it would allow any average person to mine coins at home. Considering how BTG has been specifically designed to fight ASICs, I'd say that it has a good vision for the future.

Nowadays, Bitcoin Gold is ASIC-resistant because of its unique version of Equihash PoW algorithm. If by any chance, ASIC manufacturers manage to design ASICs for said algorithm, then the BTG team could continue improving the PoW algorithm on a regular basis (the same way Monero is doing). While Bitcoin Gold is not as popular as Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash, it has potential to become something big in the future if people adopt it massively.

The key here is to bring usability, interoperability, and user-friendliness in order to help attract people into your own cryptocurrency project. This applies to Bitcoin Gold and any other cryptocurrency we know and love today. If BTG lacks this, then it would be nothing more than just a mere cryptocurrency with no future. Things aside, you're right about the Lightning Network. With the atomic swaps, I believe that altcoins would remain alive as they become inter-operable with the Bitcoin blockchain.

Nonetheless, Bitcoin Gold's prices are a bargain these days. Whenever it's right to invest in it or not, it's up to you to determine by researching all about it. Just my thoughts ;D

Exactly. Bitcoin Gold still needs a long way to go before it could be able to outpace Bitcoin in the future (if it ever does). Considering that it's a Bitcoin fork instead of an original project, the odds of it surviving in the future are very low. Of course, if it has a good development team and community, it'll be able to get far. Otherwise, it'll be just another altcoin like the rest of the cryptocurrencies on the market today.

Nearly any cryptocurrency that's actively developed and maintained by the community and dev team, are often successful. BTG is no different than other Bitcoin forks which are competing to reach the top places in market cap. With good effort and dedication, Bitcoin Gold could have a bright future. Despite this, prices are becoming lower each day, making BTG valued at less than $50 per coin. Just my thoughts ;D

I have no more idea about Bitcoin gold. Even than, I think it will remain in the market. Because, In the market 100 top coins, Bitcoin gold's rank is 29. Whose current price is 13.30$. Combining all the aspects, I think it will remain in the market.

to be honest if for bitcoingold I'm not sure of having a bright future like bitcoin. mesikpun bitcoingold results from a bitcoin fork or almost has similarities but I think that is impossible. bitcoingold is still bitcoingold, bitcoin is still bitcoin. so bitcoin cannot be compared with others including bitcoingold.

Honestly, I don't believe in that. From a legend that costs ~400$ , falls ~8$ , I think the community has lost faith completely with BTG. There must be some miracle to save BTG.

That drop was fast and hard, and I don`t believe that bitcoin gold can recover from that, maybe in couple years. Did you hear about btc2, they are doing a nice work, their idea is to make anonymous coin, with zero protocol, they are doing just fine, when you consider that they came out in very bad time, their starting price was very low, but they are holding and they are making some progress. Nice about btc2 is that its staking coin, you can download btc2 wallet buy some btc2 coins and stake it.

I don't think any bitcoin fork has a future. Bitcoin is only one and these forks are just quick get rich schemes for me.

Me neither. In fact, I've became more hesitant from investing into Bitcoin forks as a result of their uncertainty. They may have good features and all, but they lack a real purpose in life. Everything started with Bitcoin Cash with the only hope of making Bitcoin scalable as a cryptocurrency for the masses. Then, other forks started to emerge with ambitions of greed than to make a unique project that stands among the crowd. Bitcoin Gold being one of the first Bitcoin forks in existence, has been slowly declining in price.

With numerous alternatives available on the market which provide the same privacy features and ASIC resistance as BTG, the future of Bitcoin Gold as a cryptocurrency is becoming uncertain. With this, I believe that only one true Bitcoin shall emerge victorious in the end. This means that Bitcoin forks will disappear, leaving only Bitcoin and other major altcoins as serious cryptocurrencies for the world.

Nonetheless, everything in crypto land is uncertain. Which means, that BTG could either live or die altogether in the future. Just my opinion :)

Using GPU as a main mining process is one thing that makes btg look decentralized, but has a very easy way to get attacked which also happened just of recent, but we need only be optimistic about bitcoin forked coin to at least adding some percentage to our trading as adoption may not be that strong to make it surge higher like bitcoin but I still believe some will adopt it as a good coin and to them it will have a very significant future.

Bitcoin forks such as bitcoin gold currently have good development even though they are in the top 30 in market capitalization, although many think BTG is only a fork and lacks a future, but when the mother gives an increase BTG also experiences good improvement. Although the price is affordable but as a springboard to have a start there is also no problem.

I personally have been trading for several days using BTG to make a profit. And in my opinion, BTG still has great potential and in the future, this coin will be more developed.

Everything will depend on how many people will adopt BTG as an alternative medium of exchange relative to Fiat. While Bitcoin Gold is not as popular as Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other leading cryptocurrencies, it's still has a friendly community and active development team behind it. Being a Bitcoin fork itself, it doesn't bring much enthusiasm from the public. However, if BTG stands to be a highly innovative cryptocurrency, its future will be bright for sure.

Nonetheless, no one really knows what will happen in the future with any cryptocurrency (not limited to BTG only). As far as the market can tell, BTG is losing traction each day while other cryptocurrencies have retained their position within the crypto space. Without adoption, it'll struggle to stay on top of the most popular cryptocurrencies by market cap. Hence, it's not about the technical aspects of a cryptocurrency to succeed, but rather how it's being used in the mainstream world. Just my thoughts ;D

As far as the future is concerned, nothing can be said with certainty in the crypto space. The coin is just about two months old, and it does seem to have done well in this period. There is considerable investor interest in the coin, as is evident from its high market cap. While its just speculation from my end, looking at the rise of its brother Bitcoin Cash, I think there is room for growth in Bitcoin Gold as well. However, what will be its status when other Bitcoin forks happen? Nobody can say that for sure. If you have some spare money, sure get into a position on the dips. But if you are playing around with limited money, I would suggest look for other promising altcoins which have bigger objectives.

Good point. There's really no use for Bitcoin forks, when they're relatively copies of the original Bitcoin protocol. Of course, they may have their improvements and all, but if they carry the Bitcoin brand/name people will hesitate to join them in the first place. This same situation could happen with Bitcoin Gold as it's a Bitcoin fork just like Bitcoin Cash. The only reason why BCH forked out of the BTC blockchain (bringing a new wave of BTC forks along with it) was to "properly" scale Bitcoin without altering its design.

In BCH’s early days back in 2017, it seemed to be quite a success. However, because Bitcoin has retained its popularity and resilience, people found out that there's no reason to use other alternatives on top of it. Things aside, there's a possibility that Bitcoin Gold will survive in the future for a long time if it maintains a strong community behind it. Whenever this is an indication that it'll have a bright future or not, is yet to be seen. If all else fails, Bitcoin will remain as the leader within the crypto space. Just my opinion :)

Almost all new functionalities will reflect on a price before it is done and applied. Investors are looking for better coins that bring more value and sustainability to the crypto sphere. Some qualifications can be applied to taking advantage of the crypto ecosystem.

Exactly. That's what Bitcoin Gold needs in order to gain mainstream adoption. Otherwise, it'll be a cryptocurrrency that will be considered by many as a speculative instrument. For example, Dogecoin became abandoned in development for some time ago, and now it's only used for speculation. No devs on the project means, that it'll become obsolete anytime soon.

The same thing could happen with Bitcoin Gold if it lacks active development and innovation. That's key towards long term success of any cryptocurrency. While BTG's goal is to become an ASIC-resistant cryptocurrency for everyone, there are now many other alternatives with the same purpose. Which is why, it's hard to tell whenever Bitcoin Gold will have a future or not. We will have to see how everything unfolds as time goes by. Just my opinion :)

Exactly. Right now, it's nearly impossible for Bitcoin Gold to keep up with other cryptocurrencies on the market. This is because, many other coins have implemented privacy features and ASIC-resistance, which greatly defeats the purpose of BTG. If Bitcoin Gold wants to have a bright future, it would need to be always one step ahead by delivering unique features not available elsewhere.

But, apart from carrying the Bitcoin brand/name, Bitcoin Gold has stalled in development for quite some time now. Of course, the team is still working on the cryptocurrency, but progress is extremely low. Which means that, BTG could be left behind while other major cryptocurrencies will continue to take the world by storm.

Nonetheless, there could be a future for Bitcoin Gold as a speculative cryptocurrency. After all, Dogecoin has been abandoned in development for quite a few years now but it's still alive and actively traded across the market. The same thing could happen with Bitcoin Gold, and other cryptocurrencies which cannot keep up with the latest trends in the Blockchain Industry. Just my opinion :)

BTG has no future, I will speak directly, so I can confidently say that now people really understand that there is nothing that can really change what is now beneficial for the implementation of the entire cryptocurrency space.

Many miners are still interested in it. I do not deal with this fork, but I can guess it has a future. If Bitcoin cash is considered to be a pretty good cryptocurrency, why Bitcoin Gold should vanish from the market?

Well, miners will continue to mine BTG or any other cryptocurrency which allows them to earn some profit. While BTG's price has declined drastically over the past months, it's still a somewhat-valuable cryptocurrency. The big advantage BTG has over the original Bitcoin (BTC) is that it can be easily mined with a GPU. Not to mention, it implements Zero Knowledge Proofs for privacy.

Of course, there are several other cryptocurrencies on the market which are practically the same as BTG in terms of features. But Bitcoin Gold's branding would allow it to stay actively traded on the market for quite some time. Still though, if BTG aims to be a unique cryptocurrency, it would need to deliver constant development and innovation. Being relatively slow in this regard, it's very unlikely that the cryptocurrency will have a future.

Therefore, everything will depend on mainstream adoption whenever miners or users will still support Bitcoin Gold or abandon it altogether for the next big thing in crypto. Just my opinion :)

I think bitcoin gold have a future. Because it is like a bitcoin innovation so people may patronize it. You see how people did support bitcoin for a decade it still alive the there is an ups and down. So I don't think that people and investors will have a reason to dislike bitcoin gold. And people always want to try new things and new investment.

Well, Bitcoin Gold has nothing new to offer since most of its features are already provided by other altcoins on the market. Features such as Zero-Knowledge Proofs and a PoW algorithm which is ASIC-resistant, are widely available on other prominent altcoins in the market. The only thing BTG has, is the Bitcoin brand/name.  This has given Bitcoin Gold a sort of advantage relative to other well-known cryptocurrencies. However, each day BTG seems to be declining in price at a slow pace.

There isn't much sentiment to the coin, as people have gone to look for better alternatives on the market. Given that there's not much progress in the development of Bitcoin Gold, I'd say that it will die anytime soon. Bitcoin SV appears to be in the same road as Bitcoin Gold and other Bitcoin forks.

Therefore, to say that Bitcoin Gold has a future, would be saying that Dogecoin has a future. With an almost non-existent development and innovation, things aren't looking bright for the long-term prospects of the BTG cryptocurrency. Just my opinion :)

In my own opinion, a coin or project can only have a future when the team are making adequate efforts to offer value to investors while enhancing the project as well. Can't remember the last time I heard about this coin, so if the team aren't offering new ways to make the project relevant then it will die off.

I think Bitcoin Gold has no future. I think that all Bitcoin forks are doomed to failure. I do not understand why they are needed. According to this, every year they will increasingly fall in price.

Definitely the possibilities are always there for the Bitcoin gold to perform well in the future but how it will give the confidence and the profit for the people will give the clarity about making it investing in the future.

The advantage with Bitcoin Gold is that even small-scale and medium-scale miners can mine this coin, unlike the case with Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. Although it has fallen quite a bit since the forking, if you check the charts then it can be found that for the past 8-9 months, it has held on to its exchange rate (versus Bitcoin), which points towards a small but loyal user-base.

BTG is not a crypto-giant, unlike BTC or BCH. It is meant for a specific target group and it has the potential to grow within that specific boundary.

Personally I've always seen BTG as another "Bitcoin Fork" - seeing as it came out around the sameish time as Bitcoin Cash and a few others and it's launch was a lot more mysterious than most coins. I think it'll last or a while though since it's got a good algorithm.

BTG has a very good future and still survives. BTG is a very interesting coin because it has very good potential and has a solid team. In the last few weeks, I have carried out daily trading using BTG and was able to generate sufficient profits. So I think that this coin can be the future of Bitcoin.

BTG is still valuable even though it is a small scale, this is a lot of people investing in it. Surviving to find positive things is a good decision, seeing the crypto and BTG markets still feasible even though they look far from BTC. I am sure that BTG still has the opportunity to develop in the future.

Bitcoin Gold is easier to mine with GPUs than BTC or BCH. Despite this, BTG doesn't seem to be a quite attractive option for the average Joe. People are looking into popular cryptocurrencies which are always rising in price. BTG has lost a great amount of its value becoming an almost worthless coin. There needs to be constant innovation, and development for Bitcoin Gold to be able to succeed in the future. But, the most important thing is that BTG needs to obtain the level of mainstream adoption as other prominent cryptocurrencies on the market (like Bitcoin and Ethereum).

Still though, as you've said, Bitcoin Gold is ideal for miners. Which means, that the cryptocurrency itself might remain alive for a long time. Other than that, it doesn't seem to have a future as a usable cryptocurrency for the world. Hopefully, the dev team would come up with great ideas in order to make the BTG blockchain one of the best cryptocurrencies available on the market. Just my thoughts ;D
