Title: Banks will always be against cryptocurrencies?
Post by: Gabb on September 16, 2018, 10:46:52 PM
No, I do not believe that. We must admit that what has allowed banks to acquire so much economic power is their ability to understand where capital is, and make the necessary efforts to keep it.

Knowing that banks will never fight against capital, what I see today is a growing interest of banks to incorporate blockchain technologies into their processes, and because of their marked interest in taking over everyone's money, it would not be strange that in the near future we will see banks willing to accept cryptocurrencies to carry out financial transactions.

I don't know where you see such kind–hearted banks, but where I live, banks are not only against Bitcoin, they are pushing hard and down on the government to ban anything related to cryptocurrencies. Although banks are using Blockchain as a technology to improve their financial infrastructure, they are still disregarding Bitcoin as a (virtual) currency (same with Ripple Network and XRP cryptocurrency).

The reason why banks will always be against cryptocurrencies is that, since btc in its nature is a decentralized cryptocurrency and that they will not get anything from it when they allow all people to accept it.

Yeah, I think so. Bank will never fight against crypto, they should use and apply blockchain technology into banks process because as we know that blockchain technology offers simplicity and transparency. I think banks will be more simple and better if they can use this new technology. Now I think banks already begin to use it.

Retail banks, investment banks and central banks will need to adapt. They need to follow the market. If retail banking customers want to use cryptocurrency, you can bet that Bank of America will accommodate them with a trusted wallet and transfer system, eventually. I imagine that's why they have something like fifty blockchain patents already.

Likewise, I think investment and central banks won't be able to ignore BTC forever. At some point, they may need BTC in their portfolios as a hedge against the devaluation of other assets, like currencies.

The reason behind the bank's are always against in crypto currency because for them crypto currency is the biggest compitence to their investment. Because they lose big amount of profits if their customer's transfer to invest their money in crypto currencies. The bank gives a small amount of interest to their customer's in a long term deposits which is not good to the part of their customer's.

Yes, the bank will always oppose cryptocurrency.
I think if banks are afraid of being displaced by cryptocurrency, yes because cryptocurrency is easily safe and controlled in the hands of their money holders while in our bank does not have full power from it many people prefer cryptocurrency if cryptocurrency starts to surface.
Of course after cryptocurency surfaces and digital money is becoming more popular, I think banks will also take roles, they will accept digital money exchanges.

I have read reports of how banks have frozen the bank accounts of persons who they suspect to be dealing on cryptocurrencies even when there are not explicit law against the use of cryptos I such countries. The goal is to scare people off from using it because they know that it had the potential of changing how people see money

Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are bound to be adopted by the banks, why? they don't have choice as OP mentioned that the capital is there and the banks won't waste opportunity of catching it.

At first, it seems odd to see themselves adopting it but they will learn it later on that there's a big market that they can also collaborate with it. As long as there's money, they will not waste any single opportunity like adopting cryptocurrencies.

As a matter of fact, big banks are now working behind the scenes to integrate blockchain in their system.
If they will not accept such kind of blockchain innovation, they will be left behind.
Of course, at first, they are hesitant with the usage of cryptocurrencies because of the disadvantages that it brought to them.
But, the time is really changing so fast. More and more users are becoming aware of the benefits of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
So, banks are now adopting this revolution. The truth is, blockchain might be the answer to their recurring problems (i.e. transparency, fraud, and so on.).

Most bankers are against digital currency such as BTC because of it high level of decentralization. Because BTC is decentralized giving out loans with interest which is a usual policy of banks to make profit would be expunged. Some banks are also working hard to form a strong body of interoperability with cryptocurrency.

Banks will actively resist on the introduction of crypto currency only until their actual legalization by states. After that, banks' counteraction to the Crypto currency will decrease sharply and they will begin to provide services for the exchange of crypto currency. For other operations, such as deposits in the crypto currency or the issuance of loans in the crypto currency is hardly worth counting. For banks, given the high volatility of the crypto currency, this will be too risky, they will not be engaged in this.

things will change a lot in my opinion. for the first part the banks will oppose bitcoin since it is a decentralized currency that they can not have any kind of control over and instead they will go for the centralized altcoins and will invest in them. as we can see with the case of XRP today. then they will dump those coins and start their own centralized blockchain as we also see with some of the banks in these centralized altcoins are currently doing.
but eventually they can not fight the revolution anymore. as bitcoin's adoption grows more and more they will have to also adopt bitcoin and adapt their services

Gradually, surely the bank will provide the opportunity for bitcoin to exist in its network. Bank employees will be more observant with the changes that occur, bitcoin is a personal asset that can grow with many communities.
The number of communities and the number of people who need them will certainly serve bitcoin as well and can be exchanged for fiat, so that the bank will have the opportunity to add to the customer community / customers.

not all banks oppose crypto, there are several banks that instead choose to collaborate with Crypto
the point is that banks that oppose crypto are banks that are too jealous and consider cripto as their rival.

It sounds pretty more awesome that Banks today is having interest in use blockchain technology into its system of process due to the potential of blockchain. Blockchain technology is unavoidable, it comes as the world movement that tends to run on digital era. Therefore, blockchain comes and brings its advantages and value for it. It should not be against by banks, but banks should incorporate blockchain technology to build greater process and service for customers.

Or it could happen that banks will create a completely a different world of online currencies or what we call it today "digital currency" based on the blockchain itself. I mean why would they rely over the existing crypto currencies or lets say bitcoin if they can invest in creating something of their own and controlled? If they want the end result to be regaining of capitalism then they can do it by selling their own currencies itself. Accepting the bitcoin or other suitable coin would be like going off the route they are having and it may not be healthy for their economical growth. I just believe that banks are smart enough to work out their own math rather than relying on some else's math!

Banks are interested in Blockchain technologies, because it will streamline their business and that would put more money into their pockets. The savings as a direct result of more efficiency will not be channelled to the clients, but rather into shareholder pockets.

Banks will hate any technology that might cause their client base to shrink, because there will be less money being deposited into Bank accounts and less money for them to make available as loans.  ::)

I think Bitcoin is valuable thing or an asset to people for they want Bitcoin. For lile any other currency, Bitcoin follows the rules of aupply and demand of the economy. This helps people to make trade easier, enabling holders to convert goods into a widely tradable commodity through the business sale and then it uses to purchase nearly anything.

There may be a few banks supporting Bitcoin. But not so that you can believe that all banks do it. Actually banks will not be able to function as before Bitcoin appears. A fee will be deducted from the previous transaction. Bitcoin can perform this function more effectively for users.

I think most banks will fight Bitcoin if they can. Some may find ways to adapt rather than resist. But most will do that. Bitcoins can perform direct trades instead of intermediaries. That saves both time and costs. What Bitcoin saves to the user is actually what the bank does not do. And they must keep their resources by fighting it.

Also, seeing what Ripple - the bank's protector - did, it's possible to assume that the most powerful banks will create their own crypto and then manipulating it the way the want. In this case, even btc investments isn't needed. A simple and genius scheme, really. With banks' power, they can easily promote their coins and take advantage of it. It may become a great scandalous of a global scope, but who cares?!

I agree. I have observed so many financial institutions display their interest in the technology behind the cryptocurrency market while they basically shun away all cryptocurrencies. I was initially surprised to learn this when I was a newbie in the cryptocurrency market, but later on understood their true motives which is pathetic to say the least. This is the reason why I strongly believe that banks will never support cryptocurrencies for their own financial gains no matter what.

Bankers are people who are only interested in their own material wealth. If the profit from the use of blockchain technology is not reduced, they will use crypto-currencies.

For sure. Moreover, banks can easily create volatility and guarantee profits this way. Such a big tool for whales.

I agree that the Bank never against because like in the Philippines Bank support Bitcoin such as bitcoin wallet ex.Coins.ph if the bank will be against the cryptocurrency , Bank will never cash out money source of bitcoin.

Banks and politicians can always try to drag the name of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies through the mire but this is the future money. It's become obvious that blockchain completely has more pros than the banking system. It's only prudent that the banks incorporate blockchain into their activities and devise better ways of keeping fiat and crypto working hand in hand.

Yes because cryptocurrencies are more secure and cheaper than bank.Cryptocurrencies are the disrupters that threaten the use case of banks. We have already see this in countries with challenging economies, where banks can steal your money, or economic mismanagement can devalue it before you have the chance to spend it. Look at Venezuela and Zimbabwe where Crypto is sold at a premium.

I think all banks around the world are very scared of Cryptocurrency. Because they know that once the cryptocurrency is launched in the market, their banking service will now want to go to the people. People like to be independent but the bank does not give us that freedom. Then again, the banks cut off the deadly amount of tax. it seems to me that the bank is always on the against of the cryptocurrency.

They like Crypto-Currency without doubts, but they don't like the decentralization. It's possible to keep the innovation and technology without keeping the decentralization and I believe that is their point. Banks like to be on the control of the situation and in decentralized world they couldn't be, so as you said, they have to "adapt" it, until it becomes fully pleasurable for them (centralized).

Then I don't see any difference between the currently traditional financial system and a centralized Crypto world.
It's six of one and half a dozen of the other.

The reason why banks will always be against cryptocurrencies is that, since btc in its nature is a decentralized cryptocurrency and that they will not get anything from it when they allow all people to accept it.
Cryptoncurrency are decentralised in nature and this the main reason because of which many government are against of cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency give much more privacy to their user in comparison to a normal bank. Because of this many people like to use cryptocurrency and cryptocurrency also used for international money exchange medium which is more easy to use then that of bank. Because of this many people like to use it. Cryptocurrency are also tex free and also charge low transaction cost and these things attract more people to use cryptocurrency instead of bank and this thing creates negative effect in bank progress.

And let's be honest, banks are only after profit and they know Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies will bring it to them.
So, to my opinion it will not have to take so long before banks start to provide to their clients Bitcoin related services.

As most of the people frequently ask that the banks are against the bitcoin because it can cause them the damage if it would be easy to reach and more common to regulate the banks are going to be in huge loss and their profit amount would also be reduced so that they both can't stay side by side with each other with hands in hands.

No matter the stand of banks against cryptocurrencies, the truth is that we can not continue with the norm forever. The human mind is open to ideas and blockchain technology is one of them. When the cashless society idea came, banks kicks against it until they found it interesting. Now they make good revenue from the process. Banks should stand and see how to explore the great opportunities that cryptocurrencies offer.

Banks should stand and see how to explore the great opportunities that cryptocurrencies offer.
I think it's time for people themselves to stand up and take things into their own hands, because there is no way that banks will help you to get involved in decentralized crypto currencies.

They are out to continue to function as central party where each transaction requires a certain form of permission and fee to boost their revenue and profits. Crypto goes against everything banks stand for.

Crypto is far from perfect as means of payment, largely due to the volatility and very limited scalability, but with second layer solutions we should at least come a little closer to our end goal.

People aren't yet interested in using crypto as means of payment, and that gives Bitcoin enough time to have the lightning network mature even further. Bitcoin's future looks brighter and brighter as time goes by.

In my own opinion the Banks are controlled and regulated by the Government ,base on political sentiment the banks are ready to go low to sign a deal with the Government to frustrate the digital currency operations globally  because of the huge profit they make from the following sources:

1. Banks make profit by charging interest on money that they lend to their customer.
2. Banks make profit by charging fees for services they provide to their customer.
3. Banks make profit by trading financial instruments in the financial markets to their customer.

lets take a case study from the people republic of china, In 2018 precisely , China, a country known for having some of the strictest capital controls in the world, blocked its citizens from trading Crypto by banning and blocking exchanges and outlawing ICOs. Vietnam followed suit weeks later. when the banks have a deep thought on how much profit they generate as mention above they will always fight concurrency.

Jamie Dimon, the billionaire, Chairman, CEO and President of JP Morgan Chase — America’s largest investment bank regret why he called bitcoin fraud . l believe in the future the Banks will regret their actions too and embrace the cryptocurrencies sooner or later

We have no such relation with banks and without banks, bitcoins can permorm well so there is really no need to relate with the banks. Instead we can start our own bank in terms of bitcoins and cryptos which can be more profitable and easy running.
Banks are actually centralised and it forms a lot of difficulties to understand the decentralised bitcoins and to accept them.

The cryptocurrency cuts off the government and the bank's business, which is one of the biggest reasons why the authorities are so opposed to cryptocurrency. It is very difficult to tax and profit from the cryptocurrency, which is the biggest obstacle to the legalization of virtual currency in various countries. However, cryptocurrency is a natural consequence of blockchain technology, banks can not always be against cryptocurrencies.

Many banks dislike bitcoin because of its decentralised, which creates trouble for banks and affects their profit and progress. Many country ban bitcoin in their country because their nation banks are against of bitcoin. Bitcoin provide their its user an untraceable and uninterrupted money transaction facility. In order to complete an transaction through bitcoin their is no need to give full information of sender or receiver and because of this many people like to use it in comparison to bank. And bitcoin fast, secure transaction facility also attract many people use it. And Because of this national bank loose their profits.

As long as the country where the Bank is located still prohibits Bitcoin, the Bank will actively reject crypto currencies. For banks, given the high volatility of crypto currencies, this will be too risky, they will not be involved in this.

crypto doesnt take any business not even from banks . infact crypto helps the banks because crypto investors will always need a bank account to transfer and withdrew their crypto earnings .

Maybe some banks are threatend because they think all people will move their investments on cryptos , which isnt actually true because cryptos is also verry risky .

Yes but not all as we know that there is an existing cryptocurrency that is backed by banks around the world and that's in the presence of Ripple. So why not other banks follow what other banks are doing? For me, it is better to have a hybrid banking system in which blockchain is integrated into it.

it could be, especially if crypto does not immediately get clear regulations from the government. because as crypto growth and increased use of crypto can affect the bank's performance. especially when making transactions abroad, if you use crypto it will have no effect because the crypto value is the same all over the world. while a country that imports / exports aims to improve the economy and increase the exchange rate of their money so that the currency becomes stronger and the bank is also getting stronger.

A fiat money system where central banks can and do literally print money at will has its weaknesses. That’s why hard assets like gold are so popular among smart investors: as real stores of value, they provide a safety net against currency depreciation.

However, it’s doubtful that the same applies to cryptocurrencies. Despite what the crypto-evangelists will tell you, digital tokens will never and can never replace gold as your financial hedge.

This is true. Banks really are an organization who seeks for profit. With this they might as well adopt the technology's new face so that they can go with the flow. It implies that there are really more and more people who are interested in bitcoin and so as an institution like bank. Bitcoin will be the new face of currency.

I really don't trust this because their work and reason to live is making profit. So if crypto continu to grow they will be obliged to take part of it in order to take their profit and also not to be too much the last to take a part of it without too much delay. It will just take more time and need more trusts and perhaps a little more regulation and more cryptos with better press than BTC even if illegal part is just a small part of its use.

They are not totally against cryptocurrencies but then it is their competitor so it is just normal that they don't want their customers to use it because their profits would be reduced when some people would suddenly pull out their funds and invest it in cryptocurrencies instead of just saving it and letting the bank use it for their own investment plans.

There are already studies about banks incorporating blockchain technology in their transactions because they knew that sooner or later, many businesses would adopt it as well so it would be better if they can get ahead knowing that the financial sector would be one that will be greatly affected when cryptocurrencies dominate over fiat. But then if they can't stop it, they would think of ways to use it then for their own benefit.

I agree with you, but in the future, every bank has 2 choices.
1. move their capital to the world of virtual currencies
2. choose their own way in a primitive way with limited and boring services.

I think, security will also be vulnerable and easily hacked, but bitcoin and the world of digital currencies have technology that can withstand hacking.

Bitcoin is based on the blockchain technology which relies on the principle of decentralization and the core feature of decentralisation is to transfer and utilise the power of masses. On the other hand, the traditional banking system is designed and based on the assumption of making a profit by being a middleman but in case of blockchain based cryptocurrencies, there is no need of middleman as mi mutual trust is the core aspect of it. That's the reason why some banks have already started testing blockchain technology to optimise their services without transferring the power and control to the users.

But sometimes hackers can easily hack digital currencies technology compared to banks system technology. For now I cannot tell wether bank is really against cryptocurrencies.

That won't be a situation that easily. Banks really need to redevelop a lot in order to start accepting cryptocurrencies. They need to change their circulation and that won't go that easy. Also banks(mentioning FIAT currencies here) will hardly turn over to decentralised currency. Centralised currency has always standed in opposition to decentralised currencies.

Also as soon as banks start accepting cryptos they would finally go through the stage of legalisation. Also the circulation and volume too will reach moon as this goes through. Lets hope for the best and think positively. The goverenment may perhaps take some serious step to take cryptocurrencies into circulation. I am personally waiting for such news. ;D

I believe that banks will also accept the crypto currency in the future. Because if they do not do it, then no one will have the interest to invest in the bank and this will be the beginning of the collapse and weakening of the bank's demand.

So it is sure that this will happen.

It is true. I think, at first, somes banks was worried and afraid to existentcy of Cryptocurrency because many people start to investing in bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. Bank management think that their costumers will decrease. that meke money in banks will decrease.

Several banks and government start to attack and throw negative issues against cryptocurrency. but its doesn't any big impact to the cryptocurrency. its make bitcoin and another crypto currency popular across the world. Now, the bank realizes that crypto cannot be countered. That make starts providing services related cryptocurrency custody. bank doesn't want lose their customers.

I hope, cryptocurrency will stay  alive and have brigth future.

What happens when you slip into your overdraft on one account but are in credit on another? Do they aggregate? No. Despite you not being in debt to the bank but one ledger being in overdraft, you get a whopping overdraft fee.

So what do we need banks for? Mortgage? Nope, we can go to any mortgage provider for that? Loans? Nope, we can go to any loan provider for that. We can buy any financial service we want from any provider.

We need banks to hold out fiat and for buying things, and this is the threat:

If we keep our savings in Crypto, then the banks have a smaller pool of money to lend from
If we buy things using Crypto, the banks are making less money on debit fees

Every financial service we use Crypto for, we are taking a service away from the banks. And beyond fancy new mobile-only banks and biscuits for your dogs at Metro, nothing in banking has been disrupted. Until now.

But can Crypto take on the role of the bank? Yes, and here is why using Bitcoin as the primary example.

Banks are still waiting for the government's response to cryptocurrencies. Because the Bank is actually very happy if banks can utilize blockchain technology and also use of coins. This is like a regulation that has never been made, so the importance of a regulation is to guard and guarantee that some parties want to utilize cryptocurrencies in full. We must continue to put pressure on the government to immediately implement cryptocurrencies in the financial system.

Large US banks, including Bank of America Corp, are very afraid of Bitcoin (Bitcoin). The growing popularity of crypto-currencies poses a threat to financial institutions.

The spread of digital money is undesirable for banks, given their current problems, which they have faced recently. Speech, first of all, is about low demand for loans, lower profits due to lower interest rates and fading hopes for deregulation.

The negative attitude of banks to the crypto currency is gradually beginning to manifest itself in the open. Suffice it to recall the harsh criticism of Bitcoin by JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.

What is the threat from Bitcoin?
The idea that Bitcoin could threaten traditional banking institutions, sounded in an interview with the American television channel CNBC executive director of the investment organization Taurus Wealth Advisors Rainer Michael Preuss.

He believes that crypto-currencies such as Bitcoin have a certain appeal, given the lack of transparency in the banking system. As an example, he cited the Federal Reserve's refusal to host an independent audit.

In contrast, blockchain technology registers each transaction and gives users a complete overview of all the movements of funds on the network. Moreover, he is sure that digital coins are able to offer a so-called "system hedge" against inflation of asset prices and to deprive banks of some functions.

Banks will actively resist the introduction of crypto currency only until it is legalized by the state. As soon as this happens, it will be pointless for banks to do this because simultaneously with legalization state-owned banks will receive instructions from relevant state authorities about what services can or should be provided in the crypto currency. Apparently, for commercial banks this information will have an advisory nature. Now there are scattered reports that some banks have already begun to accept crypto currency.

There are many reasons why banks can fear bitcoin. One, the size of crypto market exceeds large banks. Two, cryptocurrency value is increasing. Three, there’s the decentralized nature of crypto and four, crypto is a new technology that cannot be ignored. In the future, fiat controlled by bankers will surely change. However it is agreeable that bitcoins growing popularity cannot be denied due to many benefits that it brought to its investor/user. And this is the good thing about bitcoin, it is an investment avenue that introduce us to innovative ways of earning money and enjoying life having a virtual currency. I believe in the future bitcoin will have even more uses and banks will incorporate bitcoin into their services as well to cater more clients.

Although banks are using Blockchain as a technology to improve their financial infrastructure, they are still disregarding Bitcoin as a (virtual) currency (same with Ripple Network and XRP cryptocurrency).
It is the same thing that happens with the country that I am currently living in. bitcoin is not a threat to banks because bitcoin is different than the currencies and so far, bitcoin is not to buy something in our real life and only available on the internet. and if people can get work related with bitcoin or cryptocurrency, then it means he can have another source income which can help him to make more money in one's life.

The primary goal of Bitcoin and the blockchaine is to make banks disappear. It is obvious that banks feel threatened and are trying at best to curb bitcoin through economic restrictions. When Bitcoin explodes the banks will have to go to the evidence that everything will change.

Banks are the most drastic financial institutions and these instituions work for their goodwill nothing else, banks never provide loan to the needy one but provide loans with a greed to those who rarely need it and then charge good amount of interest, I even have seen banks go beyond their agreement to charge the customer.
I am very happy to see that crypto world is giving tough competition to banks, be it in transations, loans of particular earnings, everywhere, banks are now frustrated and willing to boycott crypto which people are not doing, this is making banks more worried , banks will now have some other way to attract people to their honeycomb ie transferring them to blockchain, soon they will be accepting blockchain technology and accepting cryptocurrencies.

Yes, many banks are interested in blockchain, some of them even use it in their new products. But these acts have nothing in common with the acceptance of the cryptocurrencies, at least not in the nearest future. Banks give praise to blockchain but fervently criticize crypto. Banks and cryptocurrencies fundamentally contradict one another. Banks were, are, and will be centralized institutions aimed at controlling all the financial acts, while crypto is decentralized. Fast development and popularity of crypto is frighten banks.

soon most of the bank wiill accept crypto and blockchain bcz crypto is future.

I also believe that not all banks are against cryptocurrencies but it will take time before some of this financial institutions accept virtual coins. Banks may need more time for study and preparation before accepting cryptocurrencies in their services. They have to revise or create another rules that deals with the cryptocurrencies and other virtual coins. Some banks might also create their own virtual coins instead of adopting some existing cryptocurrency.

Apparently banks and cryptocurrencies are always in compete over each other, even it looks like they are not. First the biggest feature of all crypto like bitcoin is the dencentralisation which it does not have a central control and the coin can be stored in your wallet and only you can access to it. In contrast, banks is centralizing the money and they earn money by lending your money to others. Two have different natures cannot work with each other.

I do not believe what you say, I always have a different perspective and I believe banks soon realized the benefits and features that crypto can bring, it can upgrade and improve their services, there is no reason for them not to recognize the factors that can help their future development. However, they always need to show a fake face, which is against cryptocurrency and bitcoin because the pressure from the government is too large, the government really does not like relationships that involve crypto when they and it are always two opposing states

things will change a lot in my opinion. for the first part the banks will oppose bitcoin since it is a decentralized currency that they can not have any kind of control over and instead they will go for the centralized altcoins and will invest in them. as we can see with the case of XRP today. then they will dump those coins and start their own centralized blockchain as we also see with some of the banks in these centralized altcoins are currently doing.
but eventually they can not fight the revolution anymore. as bitcoin's adoption grows more and more they will have to also adopt bitcoin and adapt their services

Well in some degree your statement is right but we see in the news that Banks in some country open its door for crypto currency digital transaction, the issue here the the total acceptance of Crypto Digital Transaction in the main stream market, whether they will open its door for the crypto to dominate the market. Bankers will always protect their long time investment and the Banking Institution as a whole.

Its  common in every business! When you lack ideas which you know your major competitor has, You will only look for ways to bring him down! Allowing $Bitcoin roam large means sending banks into oblivion!! They aren't comfortable with a tool that can cut down interest on loans, how do bankers make money if  not by taking Mr. A's money and giving loans to Mr. B, then charge interest which should rightly be Mr. A's!! If $Bitcoin makes Mr. A wiser so he doesn't lose interest on loans given with his money by the bank to the bank, Mr. A will only reach out for $Bitcoin and save his profit from loans!. Banks will always be against cryptocurrencies, Worst is that they fail to recognize that monies paid into their accounts could be proceeds from crypto trading!!

Bank never want something which can create trouble for it. Bitcoin like decentralised currency creat problems for it cryptocurrency provide and untraceable and uninterrupted money transaction facility and because of this many people like to use it instead of bank. Another thing is transaction through cryptocurrency are less trouble and fast and they also charge low transaction cost but transaction through bank are time taking and banks also charge high transaction cost because of tgis many people like to use cryptocurrency instead of bank and this thing affects its bitcoin profit and progress.

The banks are clearly unable to “defeat” cryptographically protected digital currencies existing in distributed networks. However, the actions of the major players in the world of traditional finance may create certain obstacles to the growth of the cryptoindustry, in particular, for the development of its infrastructure. In the future, we can expect an increase in the tendency for states and banks to build regulatory barriers in the form of KYC / AML, various limits and other tricks to make it difficult to acquire cryptoactive assets using popular payment methods.
The capitalization of the digital currency market is growing from year to year. Banks, states and society as a whole will consistently go through all the stages of accepting the inevitable, realizing that it is impossible to stop the free exchange of benefits, as well as scientific and technical progress.

Banks have always played the role of a mediator between any two parties looking for funds or other services and cryptocurrencies don't need banks to be a mediator in between. Cryptocurrencies have potential to be a new currency all together which would be free from any government regulations. Having said that, banks do take interest in block chain technology as it makes digital transactions easy and more secure.

of course there are many banks that do not agree with cryptocurrency or adopt crypto as money. why are there so many factors, especially about the functional and unstable value after entering the exchange.
there are other causes and certainly too long if described.
if every country has legalized crypto, of course they already have crypto itself as a transaction tool.

I don't think so, especially if the banks can get many benefits from crypto, then I am sure that they will not discriminate against and even they will support the cryptocurrency. But still, they need to study about the cryptocurrency before they can be implemented and I think they need more time to make approval with the cryptocurrency. And if somehow, they find that the existing cryptocurrency will help them in the transaction mode, then they need to prepare their system to integrate with the blockchain technology.

If you see deeply and technically Banks are legal fraud. Which if any individual does will be in jail. Government and banks are making big money from public hard earned and paying them penny. Even sometimes if they loose money on market/share/business keeps right not to return your money.

In other hand cryptocurrency is just opposite. No one is here to keep all your money and use for theirs profit. O don't think bank ever going to be centrelized.

i will term that decision ''flowing with the tide'' that is if the banking system ever come to a consensus with cryptocurrency. That will be a strategic win win decision for both the banking system and the crypto space, i think for any business to survive and be relevant, it must innovate and evolve with time else it be left behind time and subsequently become obsolete, the banking sector won't want to experience such a set back because as it stands now, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology are here to stay, any business that wants to stay relevance must adopt the blockchain technology alongside cryptocurrency.

The banks always see bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a threat, a competition. therefore, they will do everything possible in their own power to destroy the image of cryptocurrencies. Thankfully, the people are learning more about cryptocurrencies day by day because of that, I don't think what banks are doing against cryptocurrencies will last forever.

I think the bank will always oppose cryptocurrency, because the existence of cryptocurrency will be detrimental to the bank where it has been proven that some customers withdraw their existing funds in the bank and switch to cryptocurrency or bitcoin. If this condition is allowed to continue continuously, it will certainly be detrimental to the bank and ultimately can disrupt financial stability in the banking system which has an impact on the stability of the economy and the country's finances. That's what makes banks hate cryptocurrency or bitcoin and try to get rid of cryptocurrency or bitcoin.

Yes, it is precisely that banks are now trying to implement the blockchain system in their financial system. This is a good step because then the BANK will have a system that is far more sophisticated and much safer. Slowly but surely, I am sure this will happen in the future and we will get a very good condition in the future in the crypto utilization sector in several important sectors such as the BANK.

That's for sure. Many banks are not satisfied that this is in fact electronic money. And return to the exchange of goods for goods

Yes in as much as bank will not have any option then to incorporate the blockchain into it system the fact still remains that cryptocurrency as a decentralized asset is hard to be incorporated by banks due to it own unique role which is similar to that of the banking system. In most cases blockchain is referred to as the digital bank so the blockchain will not be needing the bank to carry out it function.

Indeed, banks do not trust bitcoin for now, not just yet. Not only does bitcoin offers a great investing incentive but is also very risky in nature, and banks usually stay away from known risks as we all know them to be.

As a currency, banks will of course welcome any new player. But without government backing, it would be difficult for banks to extend trust to bitcoin. But yes, there is a growing interest with the technology behind it, and the news is out that banks are looking into practical applications of blockchain to the banking sector.

And surely, this will be progressive in nature should banks look at bitcoin in a collaborative way instead of competitive.

The banks knows that since bitcoin did not go down completely this year that all they can do is over. The banks has nothing to do again than to fine way to incorporate blochchain technology in their system so that banks will still remain relevant in the near future when blockchain would have taken over.

At some point banks will acquire blockchain technology or its successor, e.g now banks are acquiring XRapid technology by Ripple. Our future lies in the cashless society and digitalized payment solutions. You can experience the benefits of such technology today, e.g. you don’t need to carry your credit card anymore, you may just install a special app that will act as your credit card in your smart phone.

i want to turn your attention to startups like Revolut, it has already 2 million and more customers right now, their fees are very low and they have an option to buy and sell the most popular cryptos. In general I dont think that banks will have the luxury to not go with time and not accept cryptos in one or other way.

Banks are not against cryptocurrency, the government is, who generally controls the Banks. And most Governments are not against blockchain, trade between fiat-crypto's are restricted at the moment, this is just to make sure there is no money laundering been taken place. Already I read few countries are planning to adopt Blockchain technology along with plan including to implement their cryptocurrency, I guess then the restriction might be over or will be allowed with regulations.

I strongly believe that, if there are 100 banks around to support cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, I will say 5% will be in support of crypto whiles the remaining 95% will be against cryptocurrency. The reason being that, most banks see cryptocurrency as being a threat to them in the sense that, owing to the amount of profits one is likely to make from crypto, most people will withdraw almost all their money from banks and invest into crypto. This exposes banks to lot of threats which in a way can be difficult to tackle.

For any industry, finding properly built relationships with banks is a problem. Many people call blockchain technology with a high degree of risk. But if you plunge into banking to a certain depth, you can find there are no less than financial instruments that are even more risky than cryptocurrencies. The banks, indeed, have considerable overhead costs for maintaining processes that are convenient for customers. This prevents venture investors, creators of start-ups from having a full-fledged partnership with banks. And the cryptocurrency market, it seems, is preparing to occupy this niche with a high risk, but with no capitalized profits. In general, sooner or later, the cryptocurrency market will throw wood chips into developing companies and industries, help them polish partnership mechanisms with financial structures, which will allow banks to be more loyal to start-up entrepreneurs.

I don't think it will always be. Maybe for now. Inevitably there are pros and cons in the revolutionary process, in this case, the financial system related to banking. In my opinion, the problem now is the government, which is as if banks are rejecting the presence of crypto currencies. I think it is only natural that in every government in various parts of the world it seems to treat the presence of the crypto currencies. But I believe that will be temporarily, given the importance of regulation in applying it to the banking system in a country. The point is, the government is not ready yet, especially in terms of regulation.

Bank will always be against cryptocurrency and I believe that.If people start using cryptocurrency they will not store there money in bank they will keep there money in crypto.Because bank have some rules which people hate.If people start using crypto then bank can not make profit.
haha not just about the bank. This is nation laws. They can't accept anything related to financial and it anonymous.
not only that but the bank is also afraid that if bitcoin is legalized in the country then the bank is afraid that the customer is moving to bitcoin and other crypto

In general if the banks want to survive . they will have to become crypto exchanges. as most banks are really just companies. they can rebrand themselves.

in general though, there really isn't a threat to them yet, only 1% of population is in crypto, so a long long way till there is any mass adoption..

more less they don't have to worry about anything yet

In future everything will work under cryptocurrencies or maybe even better system then what we do they have, they say you cannot trust a system if it is not under the government because who is going to pay you if some scam or something got your money who will be blamed for them. Does it really matters does government is paying anything to us when we are getting scammed right now. Augment do not fulfill half of their promises and Bitcoin does whatever it has told let me know it is a transparent network with military-grade security and we have not seen that now any of those rules are violated. So we can conclude if money is in hand of the human then it can go wrong because of human intentions but machines are not going to be greedy are not going to make any false decision.

Yes banks became afraid on it because bitcoin was very different compare to fiat currency. In addition the volatility of it was also a problem for them. Bank think that people will adopt it more. The decentralization of it was also one factor why banks are against on it because no one control its price even the government.

The principle of operation of any Bank is to make a profit. What does the Bank produce?- bread, metal, computers?Of course not.Their meaning lies in the fact that it is cheaper to buy and more expensive to sell. The Bank does not care with what instruments to do it.Fiat money or cryptocurrency-absolutely no difference. And at the expense of the blockchain technology, now this technology is being introduced in all areas, and banks are no exception.

Banks have been against Cryptocurrency right from the day one it came to existence, because they will never get anything from it since it's Decentralized and with the fear it will really over thrown.

I will support your opinion! Banks aren't need to compete with cryptocurrency because it is an institution that monetize the currency. Cryptocurrency will help us to store, pay and transact using P2P services. But banks are responsible for balancing the wealth of economy. Hence, we need bank.

In my opinion, don't be too assessing the bank's ugliness.
How many businesses have been helped thanks to the bank when capital is used while opportunities are large and limited? Although they also know the above even know more about us about the bank's own ugliness.
and also remember that banks are service units under state law. That means our assets stored there also have guarantees under the law.
If it is a cryptocurrency asset stored on the exchange or an online wallet, who guarantees and is responsible for its security?
the state has not guaranteed risk yet.

Well in the first place banks and crypto currency has the same in some purpose like stroring and investing money. In the market or as a competition in business you must take down your opponent by your advantage but the scenario of banks and crypto, crypto slightly introducing itself to the market but as what it takes to be banks suddenly opposing to it to stay in the society.

The reason why banks will always be against cryptocurrencies is that, since btc in its nature is a decentralized cryptocurrency and that they will not get anything from it when they allow all people to accept it.

I don't think they will be against it because the technology is good and more profitable for them. Consider that in cryptocurrency the transactions doesn't have to be manual and no employee would be attending during the processing which means they can cater to more clients with low human resource to attend to. This is a great advantage for the banks. Second clients can become global so banks can have a wider scope. So I really think they will really use the tachnology for their advantage.

should that happen, It definitely would be a huge win win for both the banking industries and crypto adopters, As It would make the use of fiat to crypto and vice versa easier and perhaps more transparent(without need a third party exchange) than it currently is. It will also drive crypto further to its initial goal of being widely and generally accepted as means of transaction between all of firms.

Yes, it will. As the states legalize cryptocurrency, banks will take steps to include cryptocurrency in the list of services they provide. Of course, the most common will be the services of buying and selling and exchanging cryptocurrency, the rest of the services will be provided depending on the general attitude of the state to it and the desire of banks. However, I do not think that state-owned banks will widely provide other types of cryptocurrency services.

Great comment, banks wouldn't be where they are if they don't have ability to adapt to new circumstances. They have money and they can change themselves in order to continue to make profit with their huge capital. Of course some bank can fail if management is bad.
Banks aren't the only ones who needs to change in order to adapt to new technologies, it's the task that waits many companies. I believe it's all in peoples minds, the ones who are ready for the changes they will be just finez the ones who aren't with sink in the past. Nothing new, that's happened many times in the past.

I think banks now is just on the adjustment period where they initially consider cryptocurrency investment as a potential threat to their business for the reason that they will fight for investors but I shared I think banks will do on the long term is that they can really incorporate or adapt the idea of cryptocurrency. They will soon realized that they do not need to battle with cryptocurrencies but instead to cooperate with it. They already see the growing number of digital coin investors and these banks can capture these type of investors only by also offering cryptocurrencies.

It's expected that it will happen but only on the early years of crypto like in this current year. But when mass adoption is already spreading like a wildfire then most of them will have decide whether to join or continue to resist. If they resist much more then they will just end up miserably so its up to the head of those banks if they want to fight until the end or not.

I agree with that. Bank will always against in bitcoin, I think the reason why banks are against bitcoin because their client are no longer to deposit to their bank accoints because clients are already put their money and investment at bitcoin business. If you think wisely. Bitcoin investment is more practical rather than bank investment. Because in bank investment your capital will earn a very small interst like 0.005% per month unlike when you invest at bitcoin you will earn double as your capital depend on your strategies. So people will choose the bitcoin investment and the bank being against to bitcoin because it may cause their loss.

I agree completely.

Banks always feel threatened at the mention of cryptocurrencies.
We all know that banks makes huge percentage of their money from fees and charges on transactions.
By the time cryptocurrencies get mass adoption rate in no distant time from now, and the public starts doing transactions using cryptocurrencies, all those charges and fees will no longer be coming forth for the banks .
This could threaten the very existence of the banking industry and I do think that this  could be the reason why banks are jittery over cryptocurrencies.

I think the bank statement will always oppose this cryptocurrency right. because most central banks fear cryptocurrency will not be controlled and are very vulnerable to being used as a means of money laundering, drug sales and other criminal behavior. and if crypto circulates, the bank is afraid of losing to crypto because people prefer to invest crypto rather than deposit money in the bank. and decentralized cryptocurrency cannot be monopolized by the central bank. and most governments do not like something that cannot be controlled.

The way I see it, there are banks that feel threatened by the existence of cryptocurrencies but the question is, for how long is this going to last? Maybe they hate bitcoins and altcoins now, but it's not unlikely that they will start adapting to digital currency and create their own crypto in the future.

Bitcoin may be integrated into the banking system, but then anonymity will be abolished. Banks want to know everything about the client, they are subject to the laws of the state in whose jurisdiction they work. Today, anonymity is the main reason why governments are against Bitcoin. Anonymity has become a good tool for fraudsters, this is the problem of Bitcoin adaptation at the state level.

Eventually, we will see a lot more banks trying to open their doors to the public by letting them exchange their fiats for cryptocurrency. This is actually good for them because they can put up a 10% service fee to convert their money to tokens. That would be a good idea for banks to promote fiat-crypto exchanging.

The reason why banks will always be against cryptocurrencies is that, since btc in its nature is a decentralized cryptocurrency and that they will not get anything from it when they allow all people to accept it.

I agree with what you have mentioned and bitcoins decentralized nature is the main fact that banks will never work in favor for bitcoin or its existence because there is no possible way for them to gain anything from it except if they provide services for its users to convert bitcoin into fiat or the other way around but it is not profitable at all and if most people starts to deposit there money in bitcoin wallets instead of using banks they will collapse so banks were against with bitcoin from the beginning

And with the massive growth and continues adoption of many countries, more and more banks may shift to block chain technology in afraid to be left behind with this revolutionary block chain technology.

I don't think banks will forever deny the existence of cryptocurrencies. There will come a time that these banks will now accept fiat money conversion to cryptocurrency. Maybe today's bank technology is not yet ready nor advanced to accept such innovative capability. Right now, let's stick to what we know.

No, I don't t agree with the comment that: Banks will always be against cryptocurrencies . Because, in the future bank will apply more blockchain technology in their process of transaction for customer's satisfaction.

I also agree that not all banks are against crypocurrencies because also planning to include some of the coins in their system. The world bank had already acknowledged the possible effects of cryptocurrency in the future and some big banks and technology services companies are also realizing the great potential of both cryptocurrencies and the underlying distributed ledger technology behind them as important assets for their organization. These banks can utilize these coins or tokens to improve their services in this digital era.

Not at all! There is actually a long list of banks that are now dealing or transacting with crypto. You can Google it and see for yourself. This proves that crypto is legit since it caught the attention of these banks. As most of us know, banks will not fall behind when it comes to profit-earning opportunities. And crypto is such an opportunity.

Banks would rather not to see cryptocurrencies in the market but they are not able to do that. While they are trying to find adopt criptocurrencies to their system, they also use their force in order to keep  cryptocurrency market cap lower.

It is true Banks will always be against cryptocurencies because there is no possible way for these two entities to corporate each other or help each other because crypto are consider to be decentralized when banks are centralized so there is no way that banks can benefit from cryptocurrencies and there is no way they both can exist in one space so banks are always against cryptocurrencies

what if banks issued their own cryptos, kept wallets safe..issued crypto loans, exchanged etc
blockchain is just one aspect of the whole thing..and the ledgers could be encrypted so transactions could be kept private.
so banks do have a future,, if they wake up to the new reality thats looming

this is very true. because if they don't do that. Cryptocurrencies will kill the bank

Why do you think of that? How can you say that cryptos will kill the banks? You have no supporting statements about that. For me, cryptos will not kill the bank. It is still needed in a country and banks can use the technology that these cryptos are using for improving their transactions. They might apply the Blockchain technology or maybe depend their new technology to it.

it's true that crypto won't kill or get rid of banks. Even though each country legalizes crypto, fiat money will continue to be used and the bank will remain

I think to combine blockchain technology with banks is very unlikely. because the decentralized nature is very unlikely to join the bank

I do not believe that Banks would be against crypto currencies because cryptos opens possible product that can be cater by the banks. Banks can soon offer bitcoin deposit transaction and many more related products. With the product opportunities that could help banks to grow more as a company and more income possibilities.

Yes, Bitcoin would be an imminent threat to the bank. Bank and Bitcoin are in the opposite side of the financial system, banks being the centralized system is the current system adopted worldwide and even the government benefited from this institution and the Bitcoin is the decentralized one and it doesn't need any third-party to go on.

Crypto currency craze is increasing day by day and use of bitcoin or altcoin is becoming a basic need of big investor and many company due to the digitization of currency every where in the world. There is no restriction to do any transaction any time and any where but banks have many limitation that's why banks are against the cryptocurrencies.

The bank opposed the cryptocurrency because banks think cryptocurrency are competitors and can reduce bank profits if many people choose cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency are technology, and in the future banks are more likely to receive cryptocurrency.

Of course the bank will always oppose the cryptocurrency, because the existence of cryptocurrency can disrupt banks and become a threat to banks, where bank customers will be able to switch to cryptocurrency which indeed promises great profits in investing in it. By looking at this fact, I am sure that at any time the bank will always oppose the existence of cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrencies definitely represent a threat to traditional banks, most especially if they ignore new consumer behaviors and preferences when it comes to how they transact and transfer money.

I am sure that many large banks will accept crypto because in crypto there is a sophisticated, fast and efficient blockchain that makes one feel comfortable. but whether it's when no one will know because it needs control and control so it is truly safe, there are still many governments that are not sure and afraid to use crypto.
