Why would someone will be searching for a scam project  ???

I understand that you come across one project and would do research to understand if its a scam or not? But specifically looking out for a scam project does not make a sense to me.

You never know which project is trustworthy and which is not! We all remember Envion with its 100 million gained. And? What now? Nothing. The team are blaming each other for stealing the money.

Yes, I agree with Swami, and this is not the only project that has collected a large amount of dollars on ico, but it can be prevented

To date, every second project can not hold its ICO, it's good if they just return back the deposits. But usually a lot of people just disappear with our money. And there's nothing to be done. Therefore, there is no interest in ICO.

Why would you want to search for scam projects? If you really want to find some, just check out the reputation or scam accusation section and you will find a load of them there. If you want to find new projects that are looking scammy then it's definitely a lot more difficult, most people happen to discover them by change, such as seeing the same team on two websites, or noticing that a whitepaper has been plagiarized. You would really need to familiarize yourself with the market to pull this off regularly.

If you made some research just share it with us  ;)

If you wish examples:
Centra
Alloy
Gamecash
Tetarise
EOZ and almost all other token suite campaigns.

It is just small part of my list.

Good luck with your research

I don't understand what's the point for searching for scam projects  ???

There are hundreds of scam projects. Even those that don't seem to be a scam may probably turn out to be a scam.

However there are a few kinds of scam;

Type 1: Pure Scam. Money-grab. You send your ETH but don't receive anything in return. Or you receive some tokens but it's worth nothing.

Type 2: They give you your tokens and coin starts trading on exchanges but there is no project or anything. It's pure pump and dump.

It is highly probable that projects might be scam, which sell imagination, that can't reveal a real product and that doesn't have an experienced team behind a project.

Title: Re: Scam projects
Post by: bitbloq.io on September 17, 2018, 07:53:57 PM
Once launched in the coming weeks, Bitbloq.io will be transparent with coin/token additions as well as community grades on all projects. This will help to keep scam projects off our exchange and hopefully encourage other exchanges to delist or cease to add them as well.

We believe that one of the main issues surrounding cryptocurrencies and their future expansion is the sums of money exchanges accept for a scam project to be listed. This gives users trust issues both on the platforms and the rest of the industry as a whole.

Ending crypto scams starts with reputable exchanges listing trustworthy projects and we will pride ourselves on doing just that.

why are you searching for scam projects? is it important to be search for? you should search for legit projects which will be worth it for your time. searching for scam projects is useless, you should investigate for the project more to know if it is scam or not.

I think that there are many ICO projects that are scam today but in reality there are not so many projects that can be reliable. To my mind, it is better to trade on your own not investing in not reliable projects

If you don't want to get a scam project then avoid and stay away from the ICO, some of them are a lot of scams that have lost a lot of money and of course it takes a lot of time to promote useless projects, it is sad in many bounty campaigns to grow such projects to aggravate current situation.

You would really need to familiarize yourself with the market to pull this off regularly.

this is what you can do because in reputation and others it is thoroughly investigated whose name is fraud.

For what purpose are you looking for a scam project? I really don't understand your purpose. But that doesn't matter and it's good for you to do research and analysis. I think it's better to look for projects that are good and real to be able to participate, and that will be a good step for you.

They were forgotten quickly.
We got to move on too.
It is not easy to find them here since they are stopped in just a manner of time before they could spread it completely.

You might see other projects here that aint scam but their token seems to not have some value.
That might be a better research than looking for scams.

Scam project will have offered the bonus stage that doesn't make sense just like when you are joining on the private sale and you will get up to 100% bonus or more.
Scam project used the fake identity that they have been getting it from the internet and it will be very important for you to analyze the identity of the team or picture and it's lack of transparency about how many raised in the sale.

It is not easy to find a scam project even you are conducting analysis because some of scammers now was professional it is almost similar to those legit project but you can consolidate all the suggestions of who are victim and experience of scam project just like what I've experience befote that after the project done their is no update in their website or social media account so that in short project was scam.

Nowadays there are many of them, they are hard to pin point which is the real one from the website to whitepapers you're thinking that is a real project that being develop. but little you know they have a plan to exit after they have sold their tokens. You better try to analyze it even better to distinguished the false projects from the real one.

You should do a project research that is not SCAM. then you follow and participate. It will make you profit and vice versa if you have found a project that you think is a scam, you don't need to participate in the project because it will only make a loss.

participating in a program bounty is indeed very profitable if the project is successful, and if it fails we will experience time loss. to avoid a failed project we have to find as much information as possible about the project that will be followed. check out Team, Manager, Website, Whitepaper if you get good information then you can join right away. now the price of all altcoins also decreases better you also buy good altcoins because investing in altcoins can make a profit.

This highlights the need for investors to be cautious when making investment decisions.

analyze project scam is not easy. many are still stuck in this regard and certainly not be a good thing when caught up in the scam. the original analysis alone is not enough to be able to figure out the scam and not. much needs to be seen to be making increasingly confident. see transaction wallet owned, team, whitepaper and much more is something to watch out for.

In the same manner, don't you think it will be a waste of energy and time trying to research on scam project? They all come in the same shade with good project. So, you never can know scam projects by just looking at its whitepaper, promises etc.

Since there are a lot of scam projects in crypto compared to the legit ones, then I think it would be justifiable on our time if we search for legit projects.
We are investing on legit because it gives a good chance for us to be profitable and this market is maturing so we can easily spot which is legit or scam projects.

all these groups of causes are most often caused by the mistakes of the administrators themselves. Lack of experience, neglect, ignorance or greed - anything can result in loss of cash. It should also be noted that justice is that advertising on blogs and monitors spends a lot of money, but the flow of investment into the project does not guarantee. Often, admins get inefficient advertisements and pay interest to negligent advertisers at the expense of investors. As a result - cashiers are empty, scams, and profits are only monitored.

basically, we can't search the scam projects. and I don't think that really matters. I think it would be better if we tried hard to get the ico that is legit, it would be more profitable. we can only avoid the scam ico by choosing the legit ico. that way we can get the benefit from the projects that we're followed.

If you want to find a scam project, I think you should research a lot of projects. Among the many projects there will definitely be the same people with different names as the developer of the project. It is included in the characteristics of the project that will commit fraud.
But my advice, don't look for other people's mistakes, because one day your mistake will be uncovered.

Why did you do that? Its out of curiousity about scam projects thats why you a analyze what are the scams and are not. Well, I think you have your reasons but it is hard to know if that project was scam, you will find it out once you participate to it. Its not right to judge some project without no basis, you can ruin their reputation in this community especially today that it is really important the opinions of peoples.

I usually provide scam project assessments by looking at some aspects of the project, starting from the website, whitepaper, team and advisors along with the quality of the community group they own. If some of the above aspects have an assessment that is not good or less professional then I can ensure that the project is a scam project.

It will be harder to do this for a long time, I used to look for ICOs or projects listed on the website that reviewed the ico project. However, since this did not guarantee that the project was not a scam, I began to stop using it. maybe it can be used as a supporting thing but cannot be a major factor. whitetpaper, information about the company or project origin and the identity of the team is the main thing

Find the red flag of the project, the more you found, the better because you can avoid that project.
It will be difficult if you cannot find something wrong in that project, because you won't know the project is real or not.

There is a difference between failing with scams. Because to achieve success in an ICO there are already criteria, such as Soft Cap.

I heard about a lot of scam projects but cannot really remember a lot of those. The most recent I can remember is bitpenta, which offered 3 weeks ICO and then suddenly disappeared. You should cnahge your title to "Post ICOs that scammed you" and maybe more will try to express their disappointment from that.

If want to know how to choose the best project and avoid the scam project. Just check the project information and check the white paper. If white sheet not in the project. Avoid the project. If the project is good then join and invest. So learn the project information then mack plan then work. More projects in the ICO so choose the best project. Some people don't know how to check the project. That the reason some people get lost. So check the project.

To think of it, its quite hard to find both. We need to study read plenty of pages and watch many clips before we can really tagged one as legit or a scam one. There are some seems to be legit then at the end backout and run. I guess it will just be a matter of how the team will be good on promoting and developing the project that we can determine if its a legit one.

Why would you search for scam project, you should be looking for projects with real purpose and legitimate strong team. Some projects aim to bring services using cryptocurrency, however, the problem is, the current market situation results to less investors and failed ICO. That is why even successful ICOs gets developed very slow due to lack of fund, and soon investors leave the project valueless in the market.

looking for project scam? If convinced by it? If it's for a notice for everyone then it is good. If looking for ICO scam may be many finds searched for project real is much harder than looking for a scam. When analyzing then make sure to see wallet investors as well as teams from the ICO. While no funds or a false identity with the team then this is likely a scam.

Yes, there is a lot of scam projects in crypto, they make new accounts to encourage people to participate on a fake scam ICO to make money and the people will invest and make trust from them, but at the end there is no profit and tokens to be given. There is also a projects that will promise you giveaways if you donate for example 0.01 to 0.05 and then you will get 1000,000 tokens but it is just a scam at all. Always check the website and the team if you want to join in a legit ICO project.

Lets start with the attitude of most of the project out there is scam. Then you can dig deeper to see if its not scam or not.
Normally, I check the team, its good if the team is real, but not likely easy to identify as someone just made up the identity with no time.
Second, I check there road map, its good if they can show a detailed and long term road map. of course it is related to the idea of the coin/token.
Finally, I tend to focus on the coin with its own chain, I feel the token ICO is likely selling the dream for money, the coin with its own chain can survive even when the dev abandon it and mostly if that happen, there is a solution of community take over, so the coin will survive.

By the way, you should make the thread title clearer.

Well, every scammer is always looking for someone to scoop off their hard earned money, irrespective of the ways they want to do it, and the whole HYIP thing used to be the easiest way for them over the years, but now, it is about using the ICO space to project some cloned project to the investors without a project, and the possibility of doing anything at all than to just dash away with some huge amount of money eventually.

As long as you are call yourself an investor, as far as I am concerned, you should always be able to know what you feel is not right and where you should not be putting your money.

There are several reasons why a lot of virtual money fails. Not only because of the many scams related to virtual currencies, there are also many cryptocurrency intended for limited markets, such as dentists or real estate. Such virtual currencies will never attract the attention of many people.
Another reason is that not a few virtual currencies are launched simply because cryptocurrency is becoming a trend and has no difference with the virtual currency that has been popular.

I've invested in probably a dozen ICOs but have never been scammed, you can usually see from a mile away whether a project has scammy tendencies, the first things I look out for are;

1. Does the smart contract have an autorefund feature if soft cap isn't met?
2. Is the team publicly available? Can they be reached and do they have a track record of success?
3. How are they advertising their project? Some ways are more suspicious than other (e.g. Guerilla marketing).

We got tonnes of shit icos out there that never land on exchanges and die before it start. Too many icos are worthless to invest out there. Even you see it seem to be legit. I would never trust it cause this was cryptocurrency. Scammer will do whatever they can to steal our money. So research it before joined icos outhere.

Now almost all such bad projects. Raise money and do nothing. There are also such projects which steal your money. Be careful
There have been too many failed projects that are difficult to distinguish from those that have not failed because some projects that look convincing are actually fraudulent by the manager. need to be detailed and more careful analiis because our livelihood projects make money.

Well, for example, that would not get on bad projects, I usually consult my colleagues and then I analyze everything and only then I go into the company.

Where is the analysis you made?  Coz I can't see any here. We'll I don't bother myself to be looking for scam projects because I have a lot of things to do with my limited time. But what I do is that before I invest my time or money in any project, I find a lot of info and reviews about it online to ascertain the level of genuinety

Scam projects are often annoyed and disappointed, by researching teams and websites that are not running, this project can be said to be just abal.
Sales that are not smooth and do not reach soft cap so they fail to develop.

Sales that are not smooth and do not reach soft cap so they fail to develop.
Sometimes they provide fake information just to attract investors.
One example is they are displaying in their website that they have reach their softcap or they collected a huge amount already but it cannot
be verified, so if we are not careful, we might fall for this scammers.

how to search for Scam project? I made an analysis of the possible Scam project, but did not receive any comment, I would like to know if I did it right

You may need to participate in a scam project, so you will have experience about it. Usually the scam project doesn't have any press meeting about their company. So for me, if there is a project with press, it will be a plus value to invest on that project because they are real.
Some photos and update about their progress will prove it's legit.

than you are busy looking for the Scam Project, you better find a project that is really not SCAM,
if you have long understood about ICO, I don't think you will have trouble finding a project that is not a scam, for example analyzing the popularity of teams and developers, reasonable whitepaper writing, allocation of appropriate tokens and so on

So what was your criteria you based on to make your analysis? If we should know that, maybe we can hekp to know if you were searching right or not. But in all ways, the best means of trying to find out the scam projects are by reading chats and messages. I mean discussions are your nest options. Note how the team conducts and engages with the whole community. If you find something fishy, ask and see how they'll respond.

Why would someone will be searching for a scam project  ???

I understand that you come across one project and would do research to understand if its a scam or not? But specifically looking out for a scam project does not make a sense to me.
Yes, someone is engaged in a discussion someone checks the project a Scam, I wanted to work with the project, and before that, he was bravery, all that seemed to me suspicious, I pointed out on the forum

If you wanted to join any activity just like an ICO makr it to the point you are entering in the right path not a scam one whivh can ruin your all day out because you will give all the efforts you have. Yes it take a long time but that is the right one if you are looking for an assurance.

Unfortunately just know scam or not is not possible. I talked about this with friends and they tell me the same thing. As recently, they just participated in one project that really didn’t look very much. But still the project paid, and even very much. A couple of HYIP projects, this is just a scam.

How does the way you analyze project scam and whether it is true right? If it is not thus you just give the false news that will certainly affect other participants and that's bad. even ICO scam is itself quite difficult to predict because of even similar to the original ICO. When can the meticulous in looking at the peculiarities about the scam certainly be able to see and verify whether the scan instead.

It's your own assessment is what matters most, if you see or believe that the project is  a scam better to stay away from it, we do have different opinions regarding to how to assess projects, if you see a very competitive offers and chances to meet their promises can be done its much better to support that rather than with projects we do offers a lot but can't be fulfill in realities.

There are so many scam projects, even if there are fraudulent projects on the regular ICO evaluation website, in order to avoid being deceived, you must investigate the team members' information at any time.
