To get and users and investor`s attention and keep it, pay special attention to content and presentation of your projects`s whitepaper.
It may make or break your game, as many people`s decision if the project is worth their investment is based on the WP.

Why would need a hack on getting subscribers? Whats the point? Even if you do have thousands of subs but majority of them arent your target audiences then it would be still a useless thing and

I think, the point in pursuing numbers to 'pad your resume' is that when a real person does examine any of your profiles, the instant effect is greater if there are say 12,019 subscribers, rather than just 19 subscribers, even though 12k are fakes. People frown on bots, but, unfortunately that initial impact of numbers is too big to ignore.

Of course, that is just the initial impact. If, after signing up, they find your forum deserted despite the 12k numbers, there's disillusionment again, and unsubscribe!

If your project is something unique and legit then in no time you will find lots of investors, IMHO.

I wont deny on that "initial impact" thing which is definitely true and as an investor seeing these huge numbers will really give you the impression and the curiosity that this might be a good project.
Mistakes would be done if you directly join up basing into those numbers and not able to observe for a few days regarding on the active interaction of those users.If you see less then you can conclude that majority of them are fake then jump out into the next project until you will find the right one.I'd rather prefer on starting on small numbers and growing gradually because if people will find out the potential of your project it will certainly caught up interest.

You don't really need any form of hacking if you actually want usage for your product, many followers doesn't really indicate much usage of the product. To gain much followers as you want you need to make your prpduct ore pleasing to the users then you'd attract followers.
