Title: Can I earn a merit on Altcoins Section?
Post by: ritocan001 on October 09, 2018, 05:56:32 AM
This is my first and only account way back 2017 and look's like there are so many changes around here in bitcointalk.org. Just wondering if there are possibility to have some merit on this section, cause I read a while ago that you need merit to rank up. Since I want to participate on some bounty campaign here in altcoins section, I need to rank up first with activity and merit of course.

But it look's hard and the smerit is limited specially if you have member below account. What is the most effective way to earn it? Is there any shortcut for that price?

Well, this is a challenge for me since I'm new on this league, but I will try it for such a good reason.

Do not try to cheat, you will be banned. Instead, try to talk outside of the alternate cryptocurrency board. Merit earned outside of this section is way more important in quantity.

Of course, you can make money on the forum, there would be a desire. You can also deserve SMerit, write original posts on different topics, on different boards. I think you will not go unnoticed and you will appreciate. Wish you good luck

Just be helpful on this forum and somebody will give you one merit to become a Jr.Member. But people do not want to share their merit, because there are a lot of scammers, that are selling it. We need more trust in newbies.

The best way to go about this is simple
Stop focusing your energy to finding merits
Focus your energy to making constructive posts and learn through the forum as you make others learn
Then in reward of your hard work, your posts will get recognized and you can simply get as much metitsnas your post deserves

Don’t mix it all up

You can obviously get smerit from any section but it all depends on the quality of the post or reply you made. So it's quite important you research deep and come up with something good

In fact you can earn it anywhere. It depends on what you post, it's not depend on where you post.

From the people who do receive good amount of merits from merit sources, there main source is the content. They write amazing and helpful content and get merits for there work.
There is no shortcut to this for sure, and you should not buy Merit from anyone at all.

However, there is one another way in which you can earn merits and it has actually worked for many.
You can actually provide services free of cost to forum members, like few people provide services like twitteraudit, others do collective data for ICOs and Projects and they work hard for it.
Merit sources or people with smerits if find there services useful grant them merits.

All the best!  :)

You can get merits from the altcoins section of this forum and you should know that it is quality posts that give you merits and not a particular sections. We should not expect to be able to get merits in any of the section if you keep making bad post and unimpressive posts.

Potentially you can earn merit anywhere dependent on those with Sendable merit deeming your post worthy of an award of merit, however the reality of the system has not played out as well as the concept. Most of those that can distribute merit tend to populate other boards than the altcoins.

For earning some merit, my experience shows that the best place is meta section.

But, you can earn merit in anywhere. As long as you are posting some quality stuff.

Merit is not a simple reward so you may start a career in newbie now then you will share the constructive information in all the boards automatically some peoples are give the reward. But mostly meta section is the right place to earn merits and spam users surely get negative trust also so you may read the crypto news and share some valuable news in this forum, You will get more merits in single thread.

In my views, you may able to get merit on this section however, you must have to do good and constructive post that could benefit the reader and share new things that they also could learn from the information that you are sharing. Merit system in the current situation may seem to be very difficult nowadays but all I can say is just continue doing the right thing and merit will come along unexpectedly. Just believe that you may get one soon and you need to have a positive spirit in your quest for merit.

It is very difficult because many of the threads in altcoins are just pure repetition and scam and do not contribute to anything positive for the community. It is much better to try in any other section.

I think you can buy ratings like their donations get ranked by giving donations. Try to open your donation and read pages there. If you send a few btc, your rank and brand are different from the others and even your rank will become a cooper member and if you send more than 10 btc then your rank will become a donator

You can earn merits in every topic or every section. The most important thing is your posts quality. People can give you smerits according to your posts quality.
So please keep sending more quality posts to forum . I believe you can easily find some merits.

earning merits in altcoin sections has lower chances compared to mining and serious topic discussions.  this is because people see altcoins section as being populated with garbage chats and spams by lower level members.  I suggest you post in different sections and have healthy and informative chat with different members.

I think there should be review of the S merit, what I see is that Mattew effect is very much in play, especially those people earning these merits are the bounty campaign managers, I personally have not giving merit to anybody yet because I have seen it been abuse greatly some people expect you to reciprocate giving them merit when they give you one and this is another abuse.

the determination of merit as a provision is a good thing that is to improve the quality of posts and others as you have read. I think, when we have a strong desire to get what we want, it will definitely be achieved. so also to get merit. just try to make a useful post, especially with regard to crypto, surely you will get it from other participants in this forum.

There is no section you can't earn merit on this forum. Although, there are sections where you can easily get merits if you are not a shit poster. Sections such as Meta, Economy and some others where you can make post, can get you merit, but that does not mean you can't get on this section too.
It might take time, but if you make good, constructive and helpful posts, you will get it.

You can actually gain Smerit anywhere as long as your posts have content. However, I believe you can easily get Smerit if you will post on other threads such the Meta section since most moderators read posts there. Do not try to cheat, or else your account will be banned.

I would think so. Merits are awarded to high quality posts, thus no repetitive or off-topic replies. If your replies meet that standard you'll have a better chance at collecting merits. Though, they are rare.

At every topic on bitcointalk forum, you can earn Merit, especially topics where people exchange experience and share knowledge. But to earn Merit, your content must be quality and contribute useful knowledge to the community. Wow! you now have a single merit just wait for your activity to get updated and you will be a Jr. Member but don't just stop there, continue what you're doing, stroll other sections too not just in altcoin section and do not rush to get high rank level, the most important thing here in btt forum is for you to become knowledgeable in cryptocurrency and blockchain.

Lol! Seriously? I'd rather create a good and quality posts than to donate 10btc. I'll just hold my 10btc and dont care to be a donator.

OP, this is your first post in altcoin section and the remaining posts were in off topic. Instead of asking this and that why don't you go and read the threads in Meta (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24) and help yourself.
But in meta, there's a lot of high rank who effortly looking around to find some lazy account for doing plagiarism, spamming and many more. The example of their thread is on this link ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1926895.0 ) .

Like what I said before, this is the most common part or moment when you come back from the real world. I don't have a lot of time on this before, so expect that all of my post is from my training ground ( off topic ) is one of the most interesting part when you are a newbie. Also, the english is not my local language... so it means I need to adjust more to make my skills more efficient and flexible.

So? If you didn't plagiarized nor you ain't a spammer then nothing to be afraid of. As long as you obey all the rules then there's nothing to be worry.

I understand that you have a language barrier but posting in off topic can't merely help you. It's better to try to read more, do some research like initially you should know even the bitcoin history so all of the topics in bitcoin discussion nor econimics will make sense to you.

You're a newbie and your asking if you could earn a merit on Altcoin Section? well I'm really sure you could earn a merit anywhere if there's really someone out there who's willing to give you a merit, so do you really think you can be able to raise your rank one step higher? do you really think that newbies like you will be to raise your rank? I guess not and I'm sure of it! Ranking up is now impossible because of this merit system they are imposing.

Title: Re: Can I earn a merit on Altcoins Section?

actually getting merit does not depend on where we make threads or posts, merit will be obtained if our posts have good quality and can be useful for everyone who reads the posts that are made.

I also noticed post on a thread does receive merits like opening messages. It is rewarding if it is educative, constructive and extensive, not plagiarized and a known information. You can so be astonished how every post is monitored and read.

Here you go. Often read threads in Meta. Hope this will help.

As a top 10 merited user I feel qualified to post this guide, this is to help new users and users who are reasonably established to level up.
I am adamant the no1 cause of no merits is poor English, this is something you can change if you are struggling to get merits so if you know that this is the limitation then you need to take some steps

* Improve your English language, this isnt just spelling and grammar this includes using words like Sir & Mr when I see those I imediately asume the person is a 3rd world poster
* Spend the time that you currently use posting incoherent rubbish to learn proper Written English, start with youtube there has to be over 3002 different videos about writing the English Language
* Read a few English books, you can download free Ebooks as a starter, look how sentences are structured common words etc.
* Remember a quality post isnt necessarily a long winded post, using words that make you sound like you swallowed a thesauras doesnt help your cause

Take the above advise and stop trying to level up for 3-6 months you will become a quality poster if you use some more of your free time reading the forum, this doesn't mean bounties, altcoins, speculation all the shit subs.. and only post in a few threads every week, no need to try to max out the activity now, sure you want to keep getting towards the higher numbers but its counter productive when we see high activity and 0 merit. Read technical discussion, read all of the most merited threads, understand the significance of Pizza day, the 2011 bubble, Cyprus, HODL, the fall of all the securities that some of us lost the equivalent of $Millions now.

one other thing, you need to stop these bounties, I know it hurts you now financially, but seeing someone in a low end bounty for $20 just makes me asume they are a 3rd world poster and with a great initiative by BTCforJoe there is an option to help
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3055616.0
That thread is a tremendous Idea so props to OP there

Now take my advise as you will, you are entitled to your opinion but I believe if you took the above actions you will be in a position to apply for the higher paying sig campaigns in 2-3 years from a newbie  that's right you could be earning $300 a week from your signature if you put in effort and took some short term pain think of it as a training course to get 3x the Philippine's average family income.

This will all go above thousands of users heads, but if it just helps one user to get out of poverty by bettering themselves then it was worth writing.

Edit - link for English lessons https://www.duolingo.com/course/en/ar/Learn-English-Online

Also read the forum rules, I am not spoon feeding you the link as you need to learn to use the search button as well, once you have mastered the search function of the forum you will be able to check if your topic has been posted about before

I don't really understand how earning of merit works on bitcointalk because since the new rule, some people have posted some quality post and still didn't get any merit. Therefore I just conclude that merit givers just give it to people they know on bitcointalk not giving merit base on quality of post. My opinion.

Yes you can if youre post are quality enough then why not? I have noticed that many low rank members got merit fast by creating informative threads about bitcoin and other crypto it must be trivias, facts, tutorials that is not existing in this forum to avoid duplicate it must be unique and new ideas like about blockchains and related technologies.

Where ever you create a post/thread or commenting several post and you give a good one statement, then you will give some merit from someone else. With the development of cryptocurrency it is increasingly popular and makes some people want to get cryptocurrency through this forum. So many newbies only come to get a token or even more he want get bitcoin but don't know the ins and outs of this forum and they just make a trash to this forum and so untrustworthy said as of the biggest cryptocurrency forum title. And new smerit came which is believed to reduce spammers in this forum, and so far has been successful.

You can get merit at any section of the forum if you make productive posts that can help others on the forum. The post should also be educative and should benefit all forum members.

Obviously, you could get merit anywhere you wish, what you need is making a good post or making a good thread that could provide any help to the other member or could give any useful information, then you just have to wait for somebody to sent you some merit.

in my opinion, with a bitcointalk system update for a bounty campaign that requires a minimum of 1 merit, a wise decision is aimed at giving a quality post, but has a heavy impact on beginners because it is difficult to get it. one of them is by looking for forums with managers who care about the quality of our posts. we must be able to improve the quality of our posts to fit the topics discussed so that they are mutually beneficial.

The reason you don't have any is because you can barely type a legible sentence, maybe you should work that before providing any advice.

Well i joined the forum few months ago and i got merit for few post. So i believe you can earn merit here and else where to on this thread, you just have to be useful. The merit system was developed to give the forum more credibility. Just do your part really well and you will be fine.

basically, merit is earned through utilizing and meaning fully sharing your ideas with valuable content that will not just give informations but to also provide motivation and wisdom to others that will read it. having merit is not difficult, if we just give our best and be objective, more merits will be given to us.

Infact, ever since the introduction of merit system, it has really improved upon the activities of forum members as far as the bitcointalk forum is concerned. People are now very mindful of the sort of post they make and this has help to do away with all scam posts which I think is keeping the forum very clean. This is a good thing for the forum and its members as well. I think joining the serious discussing section of the BTT forum can earn you some smerits. Ofcourse you should make a high quality post which will make someone send you the merit. It should be a well informative posts then I am sure, you can earn some merits there.

You can definitely earn merits in this section, but you can also earn merits in other sections. It's not actually the section or thread that would give you that much needed merits. It depends on the value and content of your post, plus a reader that would actually spend the time to appreciate your post and give it a merit. Unfortunately, there's not much members in this forum, but I don't blame them since its just because of they are minding their own businesses and are doing their own things in while in the forum.

There is no place you are on this forum that you will not be able to earn any merit, altcoins section inclusive.
Do not be too bothered about getting merits, but be more concerned about helping others that may need your help through some things that you know. By so doing, merit will automatically come.

If there is anything you know and you feel others will need, feel free to share them.

Earning merit can be achieved for something like helping someone with an important information, or by contributing something important to the forum. I'm not talking about giving some money but we need to see how much time you have invested in that information and how efficient you are because at the end of the day there are peoples who are relying on this forum for positive and correct information and they only find spam everywhere. So giving merit points is like filtering the users from the spam. Yes if your post is good and helpful then you can get merit points all over the forum.

Because to gain merit is most significant is that your content must be helpful to people and help them, they will be willing to give you a lot merit to be able to upgrade the rank of your account. So the most important is still useful content and quality.

Well, this is a challenge for me since I'm new on this league, but I will try it for such a good reason.

you can earn merit in any of the board . but my own advice is that don't raise a trend  or comment on forum because of sourcing for merit or smerit , this will result to spam and your post or comment might be plagiarism ,so what you should do is to think of topic that have not been raise before and that can affect the forum positively , you will definitely get merit through this medium. bitcointalk is an innovation center , create one and get merit.

It became very difficult to receive merits. The price for them also increased after the last update on the forum. But I think it's worth a try, to write any interesting information, to help others, to answer questions. Just try to be as helpful as possible and I think you'll get the merit.

I think the section doesn't matter. In each section there are people whom you will be able to help with something. Try to learn more about cryptocurrencies, read the news. Maybe you will find good information or you have some interesting thoughts about something and you can share it here.

Why not, you can earn merit from this section, it all depends on you and the requirement needed. For you to get some merit all you need is to make a unique, interesting and quality post or topic. Also there are some things prohibited for instance begging for merit on the forum.

There is no doubt that you can be merited on this section of the forum because I have seen post with two, three or more merits on the altcoin section. However, merits are not being dashed out anyhow, it requires you to write quality and substantial post to be able to earn some merits.

you can get Merit anywhere in this forum, all you need is to make a good post, so that people will give you Merit for it, so you don't have to worry about making a post where to get Merit, because every post on this forum if the post is good will definitely get Merit.
