Post by: manecas on October 10, 2018, 09:59:12 AM
I know that bitcointalk is trying to remove spammers and so on, but I am finding difficult to get the needed Merit to get back to Jr. Member. I am an active member, do a lot of bounties, translations and so on, and suddently I am a newbie again. How do you guy's got your Merit ? Asking ?

Well, write a useful post for users of this forum once an active participant and all though someone will give merit. But if you want to participate in the signature campaign, then there is a chance that in the future they will not look at the rank, but at the user's activity. Your Activity: 108 is not bad for a newbie. We are waiting for this update because it is more loyal to all users.

Just be helpful on this forum, and you will get your merit. But unfortunately, nowadays it is not easy to earn a merit, because, nobody want to share their merit and to draw attention from the moderators is pretty difficult. Best of luck bro.

I just looked at your message history and see that you are a shitposter.

You are the reason they put this rule and if you don't improve your message quality you always stay as a newbie.

The trouble is that even with usefull posts, its difficult to get any merit. And at the speed new threads appear it vanishes very fast from the first page and its simply forgotten.

In addition to what your friends are talking about, you can help people who ask this style like you. If you have a language other than English, you can translate the news shared in English to your language. When a new product of a project is released or an update to the product, you can write a detailed article about that update or product. All this will come back to you as a merit.

If you are a good translator, I think it is not difficult to get a merits. I have seen many good translations that have been confirmed by the Bounty Manager, and the high-ranking Bounty Manager will also send merit to a good translator.
And I suggest you not to participate in too many social media bounty campaigns, which will make your posting history look very bad. Usually, many high ranked members are less willing to send meirt to members who are full of links in the history of those posts.

Translating ANN / Website is enough. Of course, I think it may be more difficult to translate white papers, and will get more recognition.
Try to translate some excellent projects and avoid those scams.
I believe that a good translation is easy to get a merit, at least easier than me because of my broken English.  ;D
Good luck for you!

Honestly speaking, it is just too hard to get merit if our mindset is only joining bounties. We even be tempted to buy merits on the black market but don't ever do that as it will cause you more harm than good.

Why not just purchase a copper rank upgrade rather than complaining about the merit system? Copper rank allows you to post images and wear member ranked-signatures which I think is enough for a translator to continue their work/applications. I know most bounty campaigns only accept Jr. member and above ranks but there are also few bounty campaigns out there that accepts copper ranks (despite them being a newbie/brandnew); just search around. Also, if your portfolio for your recent translations is impeccable, I'm you wouldn't have a hard time getting reservations.  ;)

First before I give my own view, you need to know the major aim of creating this forum is not for bounty related activities but to get useful information about crypto through contribution of meaning post by member on the forum. I checked your previous post up till those posted 2 months ago and I can you are not really contributing something meaningful. almost all your posts are within the bounties board and they are majorly questions. you can improve by helping others through contribution that will be helpful. doing this might one day get you a merit. Although I am not in anyway in support of the merit group because I do not think it will stand a test of time.

I felt for you people when i saw that down grading that we noticed in the forum. You can get your merit through the few merit source who are members of the forum though there are not known but the forum moderators said if we are serious and active in the forum that we may find them. Writing and posting a quality post is one of the ways to get merit, You can also contribute to resolve issue that a member brought to the forum.

Its just too hard to get merit this days,  even what do catch the moderators attention we cant really suggest that because a lots of good quality comment has been made with merit rewards,  and a lot of short and simple comment have been rewarded too.  This do make me think that some merit was trade not rewarded.
If the moderators can at least make a list of what should be compiled in a comment to make it good at least to some standard (maybe no short comment or just recommend what someone has said and so on)  maybe this will give people clue of what they are facing or make clear to people to already know their comment or thread is no where near been rewarded with merit.

Friend I encountered this situation during a company. Lucky admins bounty were loyal and we all protected the steaks, since the bounty just ended and the signature must be worn.
You can get a merit, recently I saw one article a novice very cool so she got as many as 5 merit. To get it you have to work on several articles. For a bounty community.
There was also a topic about posting articles. The best new ones received Merit.
Perhaps this topic was in the Russian branch. Due to low loyalty, it became impossible to get Merita for a beginner.

Everything is simple, you need to be useful to the community and everything will be fine. For example - I am a designer. And recently made several images, illustrations and elements for the designer on the topic of blockchain and cryptography. Now I want to put it in open access and get merit from grateful users who downloaded this art. I think this is quite legitimate and, as far as I understand, does not contradict the rules of the forum.

If you would just give an effort in posting and understanding what you are posting maybe you could attract a person who would able to give you a merit. Since, you're just focused on making posts for yourself try to post for the community that may give you a chance.

I understand your sentiments that you are really in need of a merit and it's not just you who needed the most where there are many just wanted to have one. I believe that aiming for a merit is really  a hard thing but if you desire to get it, you need to work for it where you should have to post very informative and constructive post that could also give benefit to the reader. Just continue to do good quality postings and merit will come to you where you will not be expecting for it.

Yes, there are indeed many of our friends here who have experienced the same thing as you, without a single merit, those who are already in the Jr member rank will automatically become beginners again, it has become a predetermined rule, you
can do nothing but make constructive posts, so that there will be someone who will give you merit, and you will be able to return to the rank of Junior members again.

Ofcourse, the quality of a post matters in this forum. If your post is useful to others and valuable then definitely you will get merit. Your effort and knowledge about crypto market is needed in this community. If this goes will merit and rank will come on your way.

According to the bitcointalk rule, the only medium to get merit is to post a high quality post on any thread on bitcointalk. Therefore, its totally impossible to get merit if you keep posting garbage on bitcointalk.

If you want better chances of gettin merits, have some good quality posts in mining and serious forum topics.  Altcoin discussions are usually treated lowly considering the number of members use this topics to spam members with useless documents.

This topic has been widely repeated in this forum probably due to the serious rules being implemented by Theymos in relation to minimize spammers in this forum. In my opinion to the subject, If you really wanted to aim for a merit, just ensure to contribute good quality post that could give good information to the readers of the forum. Merit will come soon and do not lose hope for merit will come along. Just believe in yourself and continue your quest.

Nothing contradictory at all. Good job. This is what this forum needs and why the merit system was introduced in the first place. The truth is that most people believe that this system was put in place only to reduce the spam in this forum.

This is partially true since it does help in decreasing the spam in this forum, but it also primarily helps in more constructive quality discussions which is what this forum needs to grow in the long term.

There is no perfect way to acquire merit. Its completely random in my opinion, but high quality posts do tend to help gather more merit over time which is why it is better to focus on improving your post quality over time.

Or you can buy copper members here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

2. I think you don't deserve a merit because you know nothing about the forum.
3. Please move the thread to help and beginners. Have a look on the below of thread and you will find the way of moving thread.

With posts like this:

Good that the info is usefull. (if anyone want's to help me get back to Jr. Member, still in need of a merit :-) )

You should not expect any merit anytime soon. How does doing bounties help other members of the forum. Try to be useful in the forum. Try to help other members. You do a lot about bounties right? Share with us how we can be a good bounty hunter. Share your wisdom. .

Also, what intrigues me is that you do a lot of translations but you seem to have a poor knowledge of the English language. I am sure when you do bounties you double check your grammar, maybe try to do it when you write your posts too huh? Install grammarly, it will help you.

I know that bitcointalk is trying to remove spammers and so on, but I am finding difficult to get the needed Merit to get back to Jr. Member. I am an active member, do a lot of bounties, translations and so on, and suddently I am a newbie again. How do you guy's got your Merit ? Asking ?

I just looked at your message history and see that you are a shitposter.

You are the reason they put this rule and if you don't improve your message quality you always stay as a newbie.

Not everyone is good English. I know a lot of good news, but because my English is not good, I'm not confident in writing a good posts .
everyone joins in the forum for many different purposes. I joined the forum to see information on BCT and market situation and I joined the bounty campaign to make money investing. We advertise for the ICO so it goes to success .
We not useless. Don't discriminate against us.

Sadly, "posting quality post" is not a good criteria to earn a merit as I observe and read the discussions between high rank members.
You need to consistently write quality posts and at the very least, reduce bounty campaign reports (but how to do this one if you are into bounty also?).  I do not know but some high-ranked members are allergic to bounty campaign reports that even though you post a quality post that deserve a merit, they will scan your history and the moment that they see a bounty related post then they will judge you as a spammer and you will not earn a single merit.

You completely took that post out of context, see the original post, and the conversation where that was written.

Maybe you should not make a thread about demoted and how to get merits but you should make a thread that can help other people to know about new knowledge or you can make with informative thread. Or if you wanna to always to be bounty hunter you can buy copper membership or if not you should learn again about this forum. Maybe it like very hard to do this but if you change your mind i think every one can do it.
