Blockchain technology is a very unique and beautiful program which was created today but I just realized it could be the solution for corruption which was happening all over the world. The Government works for the public right? So the public should be allowed to view what or where the money goes. It would be nice if we could view the public wallet or government funds and you can view each transactions. The blockchain transactions can be viewed publicly. We are paying taxes for the benefit of our country so it would be nice if this kind of technology will be implemented. What are your thoughts? Could this be possible or not?

PS: These are only my opinion, feel free to delete this thread if it's uninteresting subject. Also, feel free to delete this if someone already created similar topic about this.

In my opinion, blockchain technology is a very useful for the transparency of every transactions. If the government would allow to use this kind of technology then everything must be put in place and no more hidden transactions by the politicians. Their would be a clean governance at all.

public officials are not that easy in corruption. if you use blockchain in a payment transaction then they can break coins to the smallest part to hide state assets. we must remember that rulers tend to be corrupt. So there needs to be a new rule if the country uses blockchain technology for payment transactions.

Wait a seconds, we can actually do that already but the only problem is we cant know from whom the transactions is being made and to whom it is being made. I mean crypto currency is already very much open source and whenever a transaction is broadcasted over the blockchain then it is embedded in the blocks and stays there forever and you can always see it through the block explorer. I dont think you need any additional features to be added to see it.

As I mentioned its the only name of the person which cant be disclosed as one can have thousands of addresses and wallets and thus no name attached to it really.

Yes. Its public nature could begin to eliminate poverty! But remember, it would just be a step.No matter how beautiful this technology is,its still somewhat imperfect.

I guess you are only here because "Blockchain" can give you some money in a fast way. That is the reason for most of the people coming here and that is for the money.

I don't think blockchain is the solution for corruptions because it could also be used for it. Yes, it is created to revolutionize the evolution of investment which makes all people became the same level in this business.

It is very difficult to get approval. If the blockchain technology is so easy to convert, the SEC has been in the market since July and we do not need to be upset now. It will be a long process that needs to be undergoing many adjustments. That is my own opinion.

What is more interesting is the push for mass adoption by leading innovations like Mfchain among others. We are witnessing a shift in mindset which will gradually embrace blockchain.

Blockchain indeed can resolve the corruption problem but also can be a great way to do the elections.

All we know that the blockchain technology is made for cryptocurrency only and blockchain technology is the future of the technology I think so. Block chain technology is a unique program that can help the economy of a country to increase and lower the corruption that was happening all over the world, not just one country but the whole world.

Governments have been implementing Blockchain Technology for transparency already. One such case is Canada, https://explorecatena.com/. As you can see in their website, you can go and browse government spending thru Blockchain. You can even see it in explorer so its there's no doubt that you know where the money is going. I'm sure that this is just the beginning and other governments will also implement it on their backyard, or maybe some of them are already is, but it was not yet reported.

Blockchain technology is very effective in making a transaction, especially because the technology is spread widely like bitcoin and also if the government participates in doing the technology the government will be more effective in the world of government because it has done new technology

Actually, that was more like the first thing that would always come to mind when referring to blockchain technology. Let everything be opened to the whole world. I believe in the case like this, transparency and accountability which has even been the major challenge for some countries all over the world that are underdeveloped and totally ridden with corruption to be able to have something in place that would make it pretty hard for anyone to have to do something and have it covered up when it comes to looting of funds. This is something that I would expect anyway but all depends on whether the government itself is ready for this or not.

Wow! It is quite interesting to see the blockchain technology being used by the Canadian government and I believe like you said, this is just a start. However, we also have to understand that it all balls down from the whole system of governance straight from the leader, and for some of the countries where corruption is a deep issue, and the leaders are not even ready to combat it as they are the main culprit, this would be hard to come by.

As time goes on anyway, we will get to see most of them come around and I can tell something like this would really bring about a huge level of transparency within the government in general as well as even the citizens, and that is something pretty good.

When rulers are corrupt, there are sometimes when they feel their hand is tied, it would be hard to do somethings. I feel you that one way or the other, they could try to find another means to keep doing their corrupt deals, but imagine in a situation where everything has gone digital, most governments are already on the blockchain and we have gone cashless, every transaction made by everyone most especially for the fact that it is centralized, will make it pretty easy to track any shady deals, and everyone can easily access these records, then I feel it would really go a long way to bring about some changes in governance, but all still depends on some few factors which balls down from the head anyway.

That's a good idea. But the characteristics of blockchain technology are without intermediaries, which is why it attracts many investors around the world. This will be a spectacular change and it can have a huge impact on this market. That is my personal opinion, very happy to receive the opposite opinion from everyone.

Blockchain technology has application in everywhere i.e. supply chain management, banking, Store personal data any many more.  currently many company like IBM are working on blockchain implementation in supply chain with maersk container shipment.

The importance of blockchain technology can never be over emphasized. we've seen the old companies even trying to adapt meaning there's some sense in it. Just today, an article from Cointelegraph said Kenya has started implementing in a housing policy. I also read somewhere sometime ago that a part of India is also implementing in issuing birth certificates. It's really a great invention

Blockchain is a good technological system. It is good, but too good to be true. What I wanna say is, blockchain has potential to make it better, but unfortunately bitcoin itself which using blockchain inside hasn't been accepted in all over the world. So, blockchain would be really advantages if it is legalized first, and of course the advantages for the country as you say can be gained and will be profitable both for investors, and also government.

Blockchain technology is not all about cryptocurrency only as this is just something that is one part of it all as there are so many other applications of blockchain technology when it comes to every single sector.
Certainly, with the adoption of blockchain technology, it would bring about accountability and transparency which are the two major things lacking in a corrupt system of governance as we all know and if this part can be easily fixed; then, I believe that it can always be of help to some of the developing and less developed areas.

Block chain have some power to improve economy. You're right government should use block chain technology and let there people to know where money is going. But its a bit risky since all hackers will try to hack government wallets all will target them.

But i have doubt no one will accept it many government are already against it so why they won't accept block chain technology and never let people to view it.

So i think its impossible to government to use block chain. Also we give tax to government but cryptocurrencies are tax free how will we give to government to develop our country.

the transparent nature of the blockchain can of course easily counteract all kinds of fraud in government, now when we trade using FIAT currency, then after our money is used, the track record is no longer visible or lost, but different when you transact using cryptocurrency , transaction trace data still exists and can be accessed forever

View public wallet/government funds? It should be available for the public's view as far as I know as it is supposed to be mandated by the Constitution or it maybe not as for other countries I guess? As for my country, it is available for the public but nobody cares unless someone big time spends it on something it shouldn't be spent on.

I appreciate your thought and no need to delete such topic since your post take a lots of potential. By viewing government funds we will able to know what our governments are actually doing. It can reduce the rate of corruption that government doing now days.

This was suggested by many but I doubt that this is going to be adopted by the government. It can even help the election but they won't adopt it. I guess there were proposals made before but they won't consider using it.

But to have public viewing for the public's fund? I'm having doubt with this, they can create a law about freedom for the public to view most information inside the government.

Blockchain technology is a great tool that can be used to ensure the public's trust in governments, but I would prefer to see it used to eliminate the need for separate governments and eventually pave the way for a human collective. There are enough problems that humanity faces. Petty warring amongst ourselves only adds to our problems.

In my country, Ukraine, the officials wanted to introduce blockchain technology for issuing passports for land and real estate. But they realized that this would not bring them any stolen money, and immediately refused commenting on the fact that the blockchain technology is still very raw and not safe. ;D

I don't really get it. How can a private (centralized) blockchain not be used to game the system? The benefit of private blockchains is that you can choose which part of the network you want to have operating publicly, and which part completely private. Another aspect is that private blockchains aren't immutable, which grants them all the freedom in the world to erase all trails that potentially could be traced back to them.

I think private blockchains allow for more fraudulent activities than ever before. Rogue state employees will feast on that for sure.

I agree with those of you who think the blockchain system is implemented in the government payer system, be it taxes, electricity and also regional budgets that can be seen publicly where to go to the funds flow, in this way can reduce government corruption.

That will be a great idea to track those records specially if this will be focused on government fund records and how they are using it. It was the money of people so we deserve to see those records publicly. That really is possible but will surely take a couple of years before that happens because there will definitely be against that idea specially those corrupt officials. Though we might see good things around using blockchain technology but still we can see also its negative effect to us and in the community. By using this one or engaging into internet base job will surely lessen the number who were working on the day or office job as they might be preferred of going it at their home. Corruption is always present in any situations. If we are talking about blockchain is very helpful because it can be used as way of transaction. If you are looking for a great income to come well invest for more and look for great investment to come along.

Blockchain is always positive outlook because it can be used as transaction in different ways to go. The government syas it is not exist but if we are really into it and focused it is already exist and it is used already by many of us. Buying in exchange of services and goods.

The blockchain is a good technology platform, but it has so many significant technological disadvantages that Blockchain is not the perfect platform. The Blockchain platform is very transparent about exchanges, but it anonymously implements this to make the government hate it.

At least, if we get to see some of the government spending’s being available to the public view, it would bring about some level of transparency within the system of governance and we will get to see things being done differently than it used to.

I am from a place where accountability and transparency is not even something to write home about, and exposing the way money is going for some activities, will really expose some certain things and will make a lot of things become glaring for the citizens view and to question some acts and things undone, when considering the amount allocated for such projects. This is something that I believe will bring about monitoring and evaluation in the system of governance.

That would be a good thing actually. Someone shared some recent development in the Canadian government using the blockchain to monitor the spending of the government and having a platform for the whole country and even the world to see how money is being spent. This transparency and accountability is something that is lacking in most of the world and most especially when it comes to most of the corrupt underdeveloped parts of the world, and I believe if utilized effectively, it would really bring about some good level of impact to the governmental space entirely.

I suspect any politician will allow that ;D lol. Yes, this may be the reason why most governments are not ready to adopt blockchain technology (please note: not adopting bitcoin has different reasons from ignoring blockchain technology). Basically politicians hate transparency.

Just getting a bit confused here, people here are mostly associating the blockchain to transparency, but what of coins like monero which favor anonymity...does this make such coins not part of the blockchain?

I agree, because the government in my country is promoting transparency in all fields, including the state budget. it would be great if the transparency mechanism uses blockchain, so that the public can oversee the allocation of the budget.

Almost all of the countries have a government website. From there, transactions ID's will be presented with what/where the funds has been used and the tx ID's can be search through Blockchain explorer.

I never thought that this was already implemented. This means, this could be the real future if all of our Government applied this technology in each countries. True it could be a deterrent for corruption because of it's transparency and realtime recording of transactions. But be that as it may, humans are innovative by nature and will think of ways to go around using blockchains or a loophole in the transparency of blockchains. They've done it before, they will do it again.

    Blockchain technology is a new form of internet controlled transanction only for digital currency, bitcoin transanction, hidden user, no record on the transanction on your true identity, very high security on identity but money also is very high risk. you can choose for trade for good people just for select a right one.

this is indeed good for government systems, where all the people can monitor from the smart contract. that way there won't be a lot of money evaporating during the distribution
