How do you get merit?

the quick way to get merit is by looking for members who offer smerit to those who make good posts for the answers to their questions. Usually this is in the META (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0) forum

In fact, getting Merit is not impossible, but only if you have to publish articles and emails seriously, and you should try to give others help to get it!

You don't need to create articles or emails, just post substantially and helpful.

Make some useful posts in the healthy discussion and get yourself educated about the crypto currencies rather than spamming with repeated comments in the mega threads.Don't post for getting merit just follow your posting style and keep yourself better at that then later merit will follow up you.

to get Merit for now is very difficult and I am too, but my advice is you have to make a very useful post and is very useful for all bitcointalk forum members with posts that can be really easy to understand.

If you want to gain merits then you have to post more constructive and try to create a helpful topic on the forum, where everyone can wants to provide their valuable comment on it.

Change the way you are replying and improve your post. It doesn't mean that the longer your posts are the higher chance of getting merit. Post to the topics that you know and you are adding value to the discussion. If something helpful you add and someone appreciates your post, expect that it will be merited. Be constructive, quality over quantity and don't post to the topics that you really don't know what they have been talking. Avoid those "great project", "interesting" posts.

Knowing how to get merit is not enough to gain merit, you need to help your self to improve your post quality to earn more merit. Earning merit is takes a time because you need to gather more good information that can help many people here in the forum and post it in precise English to encourage more people to read your post and give some merit to it.

I`m also trying my best to earn merit. The other way to learn more how to earn merit is look the profile of recognize people who earn merit regularly and  make them as good model in the way of how they make a post here in the forum.

Although I agree that answering questions in certain threads will give you higher possibility to get merit but META is not the place to do this, most of  threads there are no suited for Newbies. But one can find there inspiration and threads where merits is given.

I really agree with you meta is not a recommended place for beginner beginners and to get benefits in all forums is your place to get it, that's just how you can make good and quality posts as friends say because those who have smerit will give it to you.ok .... don't be discouraged keep active and learn because you will find wisdom behind it

I cant really deny that Smerits do really mostly circulate into that place but as being said this place aren't suited for any newbie specially when discussions are way too crucial to understand.
You are just simply making or putting yourself into trouble instead rather than getting a merit if you have posted crappy things out there. Its really hard to get merit and you should not hurry yourself to get one.
Just do your job on posting relevant and contributing replies and you would gain some points unexpectedly.

Merit is the big problem now to rank up because its hard to earn merit now, maybe you need to be good poster here in the forum, make  an informative post and dramatically correct to encourage someone to give some merit to your post.

Even you know how to earn merit by making good quality post is not enough because how you can make good quality post if you dont have enough knowledge, so first you need to gather more knowledge here and help your self to improve to make good quality post to earn more merit.

if you do not speak English well enough you can do it in your local subforum, merits are the same there
also if you speak 2+ languages you can translate useful threads or any other useful info for local communities

Most of threads that are not suitable for everyone is if they don't know what the topic is.

Don't just post to the topics that you don't have something to add and make sure if you are replying, your post are going to add value to the conversation. Post the way you are posting and if someone appreciates and sees that your post is constructive, helpful and deserves to get merit, you'll get it.

It is very easy to say, but very hard to do ... What should this post be? For whom this post should be? Can you set an example of such a post?

To be able to get merit you should be posting useful articles or thread or replying to a post for the good of this site and for helping the author on their problems

To get a certain amount of sMerit, you need to write high-quality posts on the forum, no spam, etc. Choose the right topics, thus you can earn a certain amount of sMerit and benefit other forum participants. It just seems complicated at first.

Getting merit is easy as long as you make the following criteria.
Your post must be related to the topic,
Low quality post will not earn you a merit, that's why always do constructive and helpful post everytime you reply on topics

I still have difficulty determining the criteria for quality posts, I found many quality posts but they did not get merit. there is concern in giving merit, if an error occurs then the account will receive red trust.
this cause of merit is very difficult to obtain.

Is not that much difficult for you to get merit getting merit is just like getting school certificates if you take it so seriouse and write something that makes sense people will share you merit simply.

Creating a thread is not a must, post is enough as long as the post is useful/constructive/good quality. Indeed the chance is bigger for those who create a new thread but bear mind that users need to create something very useful for the community, at least something new (no other similar topics).


Quality post can be subjective, it might be look so good for you but may not for other readers. What errors you are talking about? Sorry I do not understand it well.

As I observed when merits being implemented or applied quality post is useless at all, and shit post become quality post. Or in some other points there are other members here in the forums that are very malicious and prolonged members in this forum that you can not understand if its absorbs moderators here where think they have purchased merit  so there is merit, so for now, what's this! we have no freedom to whom we want to give, those members here who have a dirty mind who are thinking about it, maybe stupid ones who think such a person who has a given the merit, maybe they are envy because they are not worthy of merit.

If it's getting difficult, then you have to understand that your posts aren't constructive as much as they have to need. If you are posting has the constructiveness or which is helping people to get a deep understanding of the topic then it will definitely help you to get the merit.

Generally speaking, the merit system has rather positively influenced the forum as many bots accounts have been removed, and the spam level on the forum itself has been reduced, and the informational forum itself has been improved

make quality posts. other than that try your posts are new and present, maybe this will help you get merit from other members. keep trying, use your mind to be able to create that thing. let's start and act now. good job friend.

to get merit you have to make a quality post and make people like your posts, maybe for a newbie like you, you can learn how to post correctly or search the forum for how to get merit on Bitcointalk. in my opinion the main point to get merit is a good quality post.

Yes, most of the people are trying to get the merits but people who are accurately posting quality content will always get most of the merits to them. Recently we have seen many people are not sharing the Merits because due to many reasons behind it.

The reason why no merits where shared is spam discussion,many new threads in the altcoins and bitcoin discussion sections were just spams and the replies keep rolling again and again with same content so no one is really interested to read those replies and give merits so better join in the dicsussion which has some useful things to cryptos or forum.

You got the point even merit sources wont really tend to visit those mega threads due to spam.Usually you can visit out meta or reputation sections which is the common place for you to get
merit but it would depend on what you have contributed. Even into normal boards as long you do know on how to take your part to the community to be
contributor towards others merit can possibly obtained without your knowing.

From your posts that I just viewed it is very difficult for any one to give you merits and what you need to do is to improve on them.  Posting in a very good English and both sentence and English writing laws a used do make you point clear to people and their may give you merits.
Another ways that you can get merits is to make posts that are of a great help for people.  Trying to educate people here and in turn you will be rewarded with merits point.

I had a look into your post history and around 90 percent of your posts are one-liners in Altcoin section, the remaining 10 percent are bounty submissions. Don't get me wrong but I don't see any chance for you to receive a merit if you continue like this. To receive a merit it's not too difficult at all, just make some constructive posts outside the Altcoin spam megathreads. If you don't try you won't receive a merit.

Nobody rewards one-liners and bounty submissions in Altcoin-topics on page 28.

Wrong .  based on my experience i always see one liner post or even a single word and image but gues what ? They still recieve a merit from random people and mostly from high ranked reputable members here on the forum .

And also altcoin section isnt about spam or spamming because there are still good threads that you can post on it , same as on other sections .  all you have to do is just read the topic of the title and the content inside it  . you will then easily identify the junk from a quality discussion .

I agree with you, it is very difficult to get merit even though we have already written useful articles and posted them. but, there are some people who will give you merit in a way that you have to really make a very useful article and also in the correct format. but overall the merit system is still very annoying to me, even though I have tried to make useful articles but so far I only have 1 merit.

I have been active in the forum for 7 months, after this rule was implemented I did not get merit. not easy even though I have tried my best. unless you report a number of fraudulent accounts or scam to moderators, maybe it's an easy way to get merit.

You need to be really good in posting , Post meaningful things and helpful , If you are trying to get merit to be able to participate in signature campaigns , I suggest you not and try to make a youtube channel , You can get better results in youtube bounties , just need some subscribers .

Most common problem by those members who want to ranked up especially newbie that are eager to join in bounty campaigns.  Getting merit is too hard to earn in these days.

many beginners have difficulty finding merit, but what I can do is this is really the rule in this forum, which aims to reduce fraudulent bitcointalk accounts.

not only beginners but even veteran members are also experiencing a difficulty on getting a merrit even if they will post something useful or helpful to this forum and to other members as well . that is also the reason on why most users are  now buying a merrit from other merit source but they can still be caught no matter what they do because there are many police on here that patrols all the time to bring peace in to this wonderful forum . thanks to them

That's right, bro, because it's very difficult to get merit now, because now BTT is very tight, I myself am also confused and very difficult to get merit because we have to make posts that are very useful and easy to understand, if you use shortcuts from the past too many in META offers merit services, but it's very useless because it can be tracked by moderators.

You only need to make good and quality posts so people can share their opinions with you. for a beginner like you really need merit so you can up rank quickly. the main point is to get merit must have experts in make posting who quality.
