I have seen so many people claiming to be HOLDERS, just because they hold their bitcoins as long as the market falls like a few months, they call it that even though their true nature still feels uneasy when negative news arrives and the market does not show positive movement according to what they expected and led to panic. I think true HOLDERS are those who really hold their Bitcoin up to the time limit they specify or how much the coin they hold will grow regardless of outside influences.

There are people who invested more than they should, and get nervous at the volatility.

It's normal for those who are invested in bitcoin to be anxious when it is not performing well, or is bombarded by negativity that affects the price big time. I myself would be anxious to see that my investments are performing poorly, and of course I might take some actions regarding that or just leave it be, but due to bitcoin always rebounding after a few or so years, this anxiety of mine regarding crypto-investments waned over time. There are still some people who aren't convinced by facts and statistics, and even if bitcoin performed absurdly well in the past 9 years, the historical data it left within its markets isn't enough to satisfy the anxiety of these so-called "bitcoin hodlers." One great tip is to not check bitcoin-related news or write-ups regularly if you plan to hold your coins for a long time. It alleviates anxiety and help you be more productive, too.

Our lives are geared towards money, as it is the universal language. And needed by everyone.
It is completely natural to be anxious and uneasy when your investments are going under and when you are losing money.
A holder is not one who is calm during a storm, but one who doesn't let go, and hodls on.


You are a holder until you sell, same way they are reluctant to sell when the price is in red, is the way they would also be reluctant when it is rising steadily.

This is Indeed a valid point. Patience is what everyone needs to have in order to benefit and make good profit in cryptocurency. Not just Bitcoin holders alone its simply for everyone.

Before we are going to hold or enter into crypto feild we already know this thing is realy unstable. All coins in crypto market may rise or fall depending on the investors on the feild, so I think holders are now stay calm except to those who are new on crypto. They maybe need some more learning to understand that we do really need to calm on dip to avoid lossing.

There is no such a thing as true hodlers. The term hodler is quite flexible and can be shaped in plenty of different forms to fit your way of thinking.

In my case it means that I won't ever sell my cold wallet coins for fiat, regardless of the price. I'll rise with Bitcoin to the moon, or fall with it to the bottom if it doesn't deliver. I have nothing to lose but everything to gain. The only way for my cold wallet coins to be put into action in the future, is to spend it just like how we are using money, because it is money.

I have a seperate stash of coins purely for speculative purposes allowing me to long or short the market so I don't have to lose out on any opportunity. All profits made are sent straight to my cold wallet reserves. I don't touch fiat anymore.

I know some people they buy bitcoin at high prices, and when bitcoin prices go down they do not cut loss.
They decided to hold and await expects prices to rise again. These people claim to be holder.
In fact, they do not want to lose money and become reluctantly holders.

In this decline, most people panic, panic is the beginning of all bad ideas and the beginning of the decision to sell low. Being patient is a wise choice, and still choosing to hold on to profits in the future.

Yes, Bitcoin holders must remain calm despite of the current market trends, even though the price is dropping hard. An educated holder knew that the market is not stable and today's dropping will be tomorrow's gain and vice-versa, there might be a long bearish market but one thing is for sure, it will be bounce back and you will gain.

I know that someday Bitcoin will recover and be more expensive. But you can't really tell a person that they should be calm if they see their investments that goes down. They should atleast cut their losses before it goes down more.

Yes i agree with that in this situation bitcoin is still on crisis we cannot define when is the bullish run let's hope bitcoin will recover and comeback soon at stat late bullish run this last quater of this year 2018. if you have a bitcoin exit plan. a desire to go back to fiat at sometime.. your not a bitcoin holder.. your just a fiat investor

in my opinion, calmness is only owned by Bitcoin holders who are experienced and if they are still classified as new people in investing in Bitcoin it seems very reasonable if there is negative news and they immediately panic to sell it.

for me holding bitcoin for us is also a good way we can make lots of profits by waiting for higher prices, because I believe that in a short time the price of bitcoin will recover soon. Because of its development now the price of bitcoin is getting better.

You have a point here. True bitcoin holders are those people who will not release their bitcoin no matter what happens in the market. They are the ones keep holding those coins until the price reach hundred thousands of dollar per bitcoin. These people had a full trust that this coin will go further in the future.

I totally agree with this. It is veey important to have patience in everyday life in hoch you need to wait for thing and not expect it in an instant. In connection to this is what is going on to the cryptocurrency market today, we can see the high volatility, but then we just need to wait for the rise of the market.

Patience is the most important thing that everyone must have when the crypto market is at a weak point. When we panic and at the end we sell Bitcoin assets that we have so that we lose some of our Btc values. When we are patient to go through this trend down phase, then we have hope for profit.

for now I don't think it's the right thing to do long-term investment activities with bitcoin, I think the current strategy that must be done is to do investment activities in the short term to the right time limit to get immediate profits.

Professional holders are whales, and some people who control crypto trading. they are not beginners, so, in my opinion, they will not be easily influenced by the FUD, and every negative news.

I don't understand the Bitcoin Hodlers anymore.. Please some one tells me what they expect? They wait for the price go up like $20.000 again? I believe that the price would never go high like that again.. Also if you invest in the bitcoin and if you hodl, i think you have to invest like $1 million or higher ammount to earn money. The price is turning arround between $6.400-6.600 in last 5 months and seems to be stay in this line. So it doesn't make any sense for me..

it should be if we want to be investors that must be able to accept whatever risks we will face. because actually investment is not as easy as we imagined.

The true hodlers are those who bought bitcoin since Satoshi started to release bitcoin to everyone and up until now they still hold it. Imagine how many years have passed since they bought bitcoin. They were millionaire today and that's a true hodlers they didn't get affected by the news before and up until now.

I also agree with your opinion.The success or failure depends on how we are holding Bitcoin to gain experience and courage when the crypto market is not good.Bitcoin holders is the main reason for the success in the crypto market.

iam holding my Bitcoins since more than 4 years now and the only reason is i wanna support this count and never invested much there so i dont need my Bitcoins to survive.
And when i buyed in prize was about 300§ so it was easy to get some XD

Agreed with you and has mention this before also that key to success in this market is patience.During red the market totally depends of investor's mindset and it they panic market panic's with them so keep CALM and hold TIGHT untill you get it RIGHT.

In the case of calm, usually those who have are old holders, they are more sensitive in every situation. New holders who have panicked, because indeed little knowledge and negative news make it falter, especially if you look at the red market, the level of panic is higher. So this case the new holder must learn more to overcome it.

Alot of people invest too much and they then get scared when prices drops, I believe they should just daytrade or something like that istead of trying to hold their bitcoins as they will just get scared and sell at a lower price.

That is the main difference between a common trader and a whale trader they are calm and dont make any wrong decision in hurry. They know when to enter. They are still testing the patience of the traders like what was happening in 2016 when $1000 was the patience price tested before bursting. There are always be some people who want to earn big money fast. Those people make all the panic. Real holders know what they want from the market and sell only when achieve their goals.

Market price as of now is at vey low price. Bitcoin holders dont panic  or make decisions that will regret you. Just hold your coin until it rise again. Its really hard for those who invest all their money  because of the situation of the market right now but instead of worrying , dont get panic  instead just hold your coin  and wait for the right time.

I think there's no time limit  for the holders because everyone want to sell their bitcoin In higher price but the current market conditions force us to hold it, of course the holders Will  wait until the market recover to sell their bitcoin. not easy to be calm when our investment are continue to down but the holders still hold their bitcoin because they still believe that someday bitcoin will reach highest value again.

Holder holds Altcoin. Holders of any Altcoin are considered Holders. I have bought some Altcoin, and I can regard as HOLDER. Keeping it and not selling it is your decision and this is not the reason for you to become a holder.

If holding Bitcoin for the long term there will be no panic if negative news attacks Bitcoin because I have experienced things like this many times and I also experience panic when prices fall so much when last year when Bitcoin got negative news from China and Bitcoin fell so deep so I sold Bitcoin at a low price and didn't buy it back when the price dropped and that was my big mistake because a few weeks later the price rose again and the price was very high.
So at the moment if there is negative news in Bitcoin then I will not resell the Bitcoin that I hold right now because I am worried that last year's event will repeat.

I don't think there is any bitcoin holder who doesn't feel uneasy or jittery during a period of prolonged price drop, especially such fall that has never been witnessed in a long time. Your ability to remain calm and not yielding to negativity has to do with your experience over the years.

They are holders whether they hold for specific months or years. No specific range on what a holder should hold his bitcoin and it depends on what he can see with his portfolio. That is his/her money and he has the control for it.
I feel the emotion when you said about those negative news comes, well that's normal. We don't have the same attitude if its about the market, some holders are changing quickly into calm mind to panic seller and that's how their trade goes.

unless you are a scalper, daytrader, shorter, these people dont hold they trade all day to make profits, that how it is, but for unvesters they hold bitcoin for 6 months to a year or 2. it really depends on the persons preference.

I agree. True bitcoin holders keep calm and being positive even the price falls. Those who contribute in more fall are not really a holder but a trader that cut their lose. I agree with the author of the post, I believe that for several months there has been a correction of Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market as a whole. We see how many of them started selling everything when the cryptocurrency market fell, in my opinion weak investors are surviving this way.

I myself was still patient and tried to calm down. but sometimes if you look at the price of bitcoin and altcoin I feel sad. so I have to find income from the real world to help meet my daily economic needs

As of now BTC is not in any sort correlated to markets with its non existing  movement, its even less volatile than fiat currently, BTC - stable coin against markets 2018 ;)  One month isn't that long of a time horizon to draw any larger conclusions. Will be interesting to see how volatility changes the next 6 months or so.

Bitcoin is an altcoin which can be traded against fiat globally, But Bitcoin is PoW types based coin so either user have to mine it to create it by solving blocks by contributing required hashpower. But according to difficulty and total hash power contributed for mining it gives very lower returns comparing to price of equipment.

i don't think that the term ''more then they should'' is proper, there is no said amount that's too much to invest in bitcoin, we should understand that bitcoin is not just a currency but also a store of value. Investing as much as possible in bitcoin isn't a wrong move, but one need to trust in the coin you hodl through tough and hard times.

Calming when the market is not stable is a necessity but not everyone can do it, Bitcoin shows them the opportunity to make money but can also make them lose everything. I have my own perception about the true bitcoin holders. I think a true bitcoin holder is someone who keeps their bitcoin for a long term. I don't think people who buy bitcoin today and sell it tomorrow as a true holder. They only deliver the bitcoin from a person to another one.

Well, there is so many meaning of Holders but the point of it is the person who has a coins and hold it for a long or short period of time when the market price of bitcoin is down. Holders is believing that the price will rise again and we need to wait. Holders are patient because they are willing to wait without any assurance of the rise. Some people are moaning when the price is low and as a holder are coins also is in the lower price.
