Title: What will happen to Bitcoin if there is a global economic crash?
Post by: buddhasource on November 01, 2018, 10:49:10 AM
It is a bit hard to figure out what will really happen to Bitcoin price.

We could find an answer if someone could stitch these together.

  • Gold price when crisis happen
  • China's economy is already in a bear market for a long time, will they see a bull?
  • World economy just hit an all-time high
  • Crypto has not seen a 10yr cycle yet
  • Satoshi started Bitcoin to avoid melt-downs

What do you guys think will happen and why?

IMHO bitcoin has nothing to do with the world economy or the economy of a nation..

Bitcoin is a peer to peer electronic cash,it has no connection whatsoever with the government,if there is a global economic crash, then the only victims would be the FIAT currencies of our various nations

Bitcoin is at an individual level, that's why it's called a decentralized platform, free from the government and it's regulatory body and any economic meltdown whatsoever,it only affects individuals directly or the mass of users in general

The system can only be affected based on the demand and supply of the currency
Probably if there is 0 demand for the bitcoin, then that could signal the end of the currency(which is not going to happen)

Bitcoin would thrive even in an economic crash or meltdown

If you look back in the past you will see that Bitcoin was made in the period of world economic crisis as a kind of alternative.
The new economic crash will happen, that is inevitable and it happens from time to time in sort of cycles. But this will not influence Bitcoin because it's not incorporated in fornal economic system. In fact, if such crysis happens people will turn to Bitcoin as an alternative that could help them to get out of crisis.

I do not want to be funny, but if the Banks are to be blamed, the government will jump in with Bailouts to help them with tax payers money. They have done this several times before and they will do it again.

Bitcoin will also take a massive hit, if this happens. A lot of short-term speculators are still invested in Bitcoin and they will quickly do a cut and run, if everything goes down around them.  ::)

The long-term investors will just continue hoarding.  ;)

what will happen is

yea bitcoin could rise to be $1trill per coin..
but that $1trill may also only buy a loaf of bread 5 minutes ago..
     wait.
       now its a slice..
dang it i cant write fast enough now its a crumb..

in short. the "price" becomes meaningless because once you convert it to $ the amount of good bought with it are crumbs.

what then develops is people just dropping $ prices and instead measuring bitcoin direct to minimum wage/cost of living and form  stabilised living utility of bitcoin to life and just ignore fiat completely.... which is something bitcoin should have done years ago anyway

I think there is nothing impact from global economic crash to Bitcoin price. Bitcoin is decentralized and the price is mostly influenced by the panic selling or coin holder itself. As long as the holders and investor is not becoming panic for this situation, bitcoin price will be on the track. On the contrary, if the holders are influenced by the global economic crash, bitcoin will potentially drop.

So, it doesn't immediately impact or affect to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is only used as an alternative payment if the world is facing a crisis, for the price of bitcoin no one can predict accurately. what the price of bitcoin is in the future, which is sure bitcoin will rise. We know through the whitepaper that bitcoin was created as a form of protest against manipulations created by the central bank, so that if everyone believes in the technology behind bitcoin then bitcoin is one way to suppress a country's crisis.

In my opinion, the economic crisis could really benefit bitcoin. Economic crisis happens from time to time and the last one was in 2008. It has been 10 years now.
People have evolved so much in the course of time. People are more knowledgeable now and if in the duration of the economic crisis if people loose the trust on banks and fiat currencies then bitcoin could really be a life saver at that time. Obviously people won't be able to make their daily payments through bitcoin since BTC has not been widely adopted yet but it could be a new beginning to the saga of BTC.

Satoshi started bitcoin to prevent melt-down :D that one made me laugh, What kind of a melt-down could a currency or system capable of 10 transactions per second prevent exactly?

I was also curious about this topic, as a lot of economists have been saying that we are long overdue for a economic crisis in the United States.

So, based on my brief research a few days ago, there are 2 opinions I frequently read:
  • Some say thay money will flow into cryptocurrencies. Why? Because people will be putting their money on a scarce asset, and also on something that can be easily bought and easily accessible(probably via Coinbase or something).
  • Some say thay money will NOT flow into cryptocurrencies. Why? Because people wouldn't want to move their money on something riskier and more volatile. Also knowing that people had a bad impression of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general when it crashed on January 2018.

I personally am leaning more on the first one, but I'm still having second thoughts. I'm not an economic expect to start with. Which is the right one? I really don't know. It's up to you to decide. :P

Always two sides, eh? But yeah, I'm also inclined to believe that people will throw their money on bitcoin and other crypto should an economic crash occur. While there are doubts on bitcoin's ability to hold value, still the performance of bitcoin for the past 9 or so years testify that it is indeed capable of being a trusty asset that also has its own cycles, just like your conventional asset within the traditional financial markets. Still though, there aren't any guarantees that it will be just like what we projected in here knowing that there are still other assets to move their funds to in the midst of a crisis (precious metals, lol).

It is difficult to predict what will happen with Bitcoin in fact. And the problem is not in Bitcoin, but in people. In a stressful situation, people often behave impulsively and inadequately. Bitcoin is a so-called risky asset, and in theory it will start to get rid of it in the first place. Here, of course, I do not mean ordinary people, but large institutional funds or large investors of which are many now. Perhaps, I was mistaken, and everything will be just the opposite, and Bitcoin, like gold, will be more expensive in relation to all currencies. It is difficult to predict what can be.

Yeah. Of course having 2 sides is really common, but when talking about opinions from people in the crypto space? I expect probably 95% to be leaning on the "money will flow into cryptocurrencies" side. But it was pretty much probably 60-40 in favor of the first bullet. It was a lot closer than I though. But yea, the data I had wasn't big so that's definitely a big factor there.[/list]

I think that Bitcoin's price will go through the roof in case of a crisis. Fiat money will lose value and people will look for alternatives. Usually these alternatives were commodities but now there's a new emerging class: cryptocurrencies. We'll have to wait for the crash to happen to see what the world will do, but my gut tells me that crypto has not seen a real bubble yet.

I think people will see bitcoin as an alternative to escape global economic crash if it happen because bitcoin was created as means for us to escape economic and financial systems crash down. Besides, if have saw an occasion when the economic are facing challenges and bitcoin was bullish.

I think that now the economies are very strong so the new crash is not expected in these days while in the future if they have a very bad luck that would be something else and in near future bitcoin will contribute much to the economy like it will be used for charity for payments to the shops and service providers and it can be started for payroll too so this will be a good tool in the economic development of the world.

I am sure that it will be after the next crisis that Bitcoin will start to cost much more than gold and then many will start using Bitcoin as an alternative to save their capital. But I don’t agree with you on one thing. Digital currencies and Bitcoins in particular depend very much on the traditional market. This is a fact that should not be denied.

A lot of financial system will be affected and the entire world is always prone to experience the chaos.

I believe that there will be an impact with bitcoin if there will be an economic crash globally as people will be selling their btc and will not wait further before it drops too low. I think that there will be panic selling that will most likely to occur since there will be a chain reaction from the people doing it with regards to the market drop condition. People should monitor the market condition from time to time just to be aware what is happening in the market. On the other hand, for the true believers in btc, I believe these people will just hold their btc and just have to wait for the recovery.

If the global economic crash occurs nothing will happen to bitcoin. Bitcoin is not a physical currency even which is used for alternative payment. Bitcoin is not valid by all government universally. Bitcoin is decentralized operating by blockchain system so whatever happens to global economics it won't be a matter for bitcoin progressing.

Like if it was so easy then you would have seen a huge pump in bitcoin when the stock market went down.
    But is that happening? No.

The S&P went down a week back and so did bitcoin. Bitcoin was supposed to go opposite if the assumption you make is true but it didnt. It followed what the stock market did. It not possible to predict which type of movement would reciprocate each other in all these markets. Maybe the precious metals market would be a better complement to cryptocurrencies because they tend to balance each more than the stock market.

For me both of your questions does not make any sense, as we are well aware that bitcoin is doing really good for our economy, the condition of my country is much better than before and it is only because of bitcoin as I has given me more than one source of earning and it is minimizing the number of jobless people in any country, so it’s really worth promoting.

A global economic crash will not immediately or significantly affect to Bitcoin value as we all know that it is not controlled by any entity or authority. The value depends on the players or holders itself. As long as the holders are able to keep Bitcoin and not panic for the economic situation, bitcoin must stay strong with its value. However, it also should be realized that the economic crash will trigger and potentially influence Bitcoin if it is continuously happening for along time. It is potentially to crack down all Cryptocurrency prices.

When global economy crash the price of commodities will be very expensive or people income will be reduced and of course this will influence the investment rate of people.

On personal reasons then it does really help but talking on the entire economic state it doesn't really effect at all. Talking about Global economic crash, I cant see a reason or thing that Bitcoin itself is tagged out

I think you are wrong, why would any country use a currency which they

In the event of an economic crisis its hard to know how bitcoin would

Apparently it seems like that but that not whats happening. You have to realize that the economy of the world is not fully based on crypto. The biggest share comes from fiat and. Also the mode of purchase of crypto and bitcoin is also fiat. The same fiat is also used to buy stocks and commodities. Thus when there is a economic crisis people will exit from speculative markets using that fiat itself causing dips in every market  be it the stock or the crypto.

Bitcoin is decentralized and not controlled by governments but the system is not that it can be the biggest one to replace fiat.

If there is a global economical crash the bitcoins usefulness will be increasing  considerably around the world because it will not effect any type of inflation to bitcoin and it has the potentiality  to retain its value stable. So bitcoin will be taking care of the effected areas economy to with stand from further deterioration.Bitcoin could help certain countries before for the time their economic crises like Greece,Brazil and Japan etc.The above countries economic crises could resolve by the help of bitcoin and hence bitcoins popularity has wide spread world wide, Such economic crises bitcoin is very strong enough to bear the responsibility  to for the financially crash down economy. So bitcoins prominence will be increasing in the market.Bitcoins market capital and the daily traded volumes are very high and hence its popularity is increasing world wide.Bitcoin is the first crypto currency started in the year 2009 and its market price is found stable.

    • Crypto has not seen a 10yr cycle yet
    • Satoshi started Bitcoin to avoid melt-downs

What do you guys think will happen and why?

There are several options. If during a crisis, Bitcoin has only infrastructure for institutional investors, then it will have a positive effect on the asset. If it is in the same status as it is now, it will collapse like everything else, the first money to come out of crisis will be from less trusted assets.

I don't think so if people are relying on bitcoin well, there are possibilities that it will affect on crypto. But if not I think there is no effect on cryptocurrency in an economic crash if ever. So, people here do not depend on crypto, probably this crypto is an alternative source of income. A global economic crash is impossible to happen.

As for us I understand, crypto is nothing to do with global economic crash. Its fiats that will be more affected causing goods more expensive. Economic crash does happen often. This would cause more turn into crypto and crypto coins' value will boom up again if this happens so.

As crypto is becoming familiar, every government will certainly soon adapt crypto as plan B currency to recover economic crash.

There would be a drastic change of our economy that shift could change the old banking system and that is digital currency and could potentially be a chance for bitcoin to be mainstream cause a lot of people will seek a safe haven for their assets and the only thing that they could run into is crypto's but this only hypothetically.

In my opinion. there are two possibilities that will occur in crypto currencies. the first crypto currency will be destroyed because all investors will sell assets to secure the capital that they already have because of the effects of the destruction of the global economy that has created a global economic crisis. second, crypto currency will grow and develop if fiat currency investors switch to using crypto currency as an investment medium because of the global economic crisis that has made stock prices plummet.

There are different opinions. At this level, bitcoin is still too widespread, but in the event of a global crisis, forward-looking investors are likely to rush to get rid of paper money and convert it into gold and bitcoins.
So the effect should be positive, obviously for those who own them.

It may have a larger value but for the expense of prices of goods also soaring to the highest level of it. Inflation.
So what could we buy with our bitcoin if that happens?
    None.

We are still leaning on the economy of the world. Bitcoin cannot produce food. Farmers do. Farmers need pure cash, I dont think they know anything about bitcoin.

Even though bitcoin is decentralized and no central authorities, it may somehow be affected by global economic crash simply because the people who are potential investors are also on the risk of not investing. So, bitcoin could also be affected. To what extent, I could not say.

Just two possibilities, either the people will consider bitcoin as an alternative currency when their value of their currencies going down so more people will come into crypto which will result up in mass adoption in quick time or the bitcoin also will face the consequences of the economic crisis world wide which causes the prices to decline.

if there will be an economic crash, then BItcoin market will also go down the drain. No body cannot afford to but bitcoin. People will just settle to fiat money because in fiat they put their trust-- this is the mode of payment that they are used to using and convenient to transact with. As a resultant effect, bitcoin wil become worthless and devalued. This is just an opinion guys. BUt if we are looking to a biiger picture, I guess this cryptocurrency will no be that easy to eliminate cause it is the new technology.

At the event of a economic crisis people will not turn to bitcoin. That is a wrong type of egoistic optimism that crypto enthusiasts have thinking their opinion before others. An economic crash will lead to a dump in bitcoin as well. You dont understand that the majority of the whales hodling bitcoin dont care about the future they only think of the price and the profit involved. However it wont happen anytime soon.

Bitcoin was created in the last big crysis, kindof like a solution to global problems, I think Bitcoin is still out of the global economics trends, and it would perform well in such a global crash, or at least better than other assets.

Bitcoin is not infused in the world economic system because of its decentralized nature. So while the world economy suffers a plunge, which has happened before, Bitcoin will stand strong especially as it was created around those times and to be insulated from the pressure of the world economy.

    Important things to consider.

    1. When the economic crash happens, fiat/currency will become cheap.
    2. Bitcoin is a currency or asset? If it is seen as currency then it will fall faster. If it is seen as asset fiat will become cheaper against it.

    Increasing the price.

Title: Re: What will happen to Bitcoin if there is a global economic crash?
Post by: fullhdpixel on November 09, 2018, 11:52:39 AM
There is big possibility that bitcoin will also crash. People invest in bitcoin because they have money from their "saving". When global economy crash the price of commodities will be very expensive or people income will be reduced and of course this will influence the investment rate of people.
with current global economic crisis, where mighty dollar is alone, it will make the exchange rate against dollar even higher, of course this will add to bugjet investors to buy dollars before they are invested in btc
Yes I agree the price should go up during a crash but think of why the price goes up normally, because people buy bitcoin more than they sell bitcoin, during a crash people will sell their bitcoins to cover the expenses caused by the crash, so there won't be any increase by that method.

I think the slow decline of dollar due to inflation is acceptable and understandable but during a crash it is really hard to get people to buy or at least hold. We need to take a look at the factors that causes bitcoin to increase and by all means all factors show that if there was a global economic crash the price would go down as well.

If you can purchase stuff for cheaper in fiat that means the price of bitcoin will get lower as well. Don't get me wrong 1 bitcoin that is 6 thousand dollars right now may not buy as much as a 1 bitcoin at 3 thousand during a crash because everything will be cheaper and your 3 thousand will be more valuable.

I think even if the global economy is destroyed it has no effect on the price of Bitcoin with it. However, digital currencies such as Bitcoin can be seen as continuing to grow as the biggest financial of the century. the article, there is no regulation that and oversees, and trade, raises uncertainties so that Bitcoin remains intact which is traded with one country's money and adjusted to the price of state legitimate money.

Bitcoin can be used as a tool to preserve savings during financial disasters. It is not connected with the real sector of the economy or with any central bank; it is neutral enough to serve as such a refuge.
This is what I believe that value saved in the form of Bitcoin might not be so prone to loss in the value during the coming financial crisis. If this was what I think it would be, it would be one of the great ways to save the values of the assets that are normally very prone to loss during the crisis.

In the previous crises we suffered a huge financial loss and the world recovered from the aftermaths of the crisis in 2015 so hopefully this time, using this technology will save the lose.

I don't think if Bitcoin will be affected by crisis or this what you called global economic crash because despite the fact that Bitcoin suffer from FUD, restrictions in some countries and other factors that let it down but still Bitcoin survived the struggle. World economy has nothing to do with Bitcoin but Bitcoin itself has sonething to do with the world economy to withstand such economic crisis.

Gold and silver price must be rising because its safe haven investment and more resistant againts inflation. My prediction about bitcoin when economic crisis happen is the price will rising because more investor just want to speculate the price and some of them hold bitcoin as their new safe haven beside gold and silver

Bitcoin is not invulnerable, and it can be more affected when crisis happens. Let’s just think the positive side, and maybe more investors will come because they will see bitcoin as an opportunity to make money during crisis.

Thats where you are going wrong. Bitcoin is not going to be treated separately if there is an economic crash. It will be the same for bitcoin as it hits the stock and commodities markets. People will sell their shares and coins drastically making the prices fall and all the markets will crash.

Unless it is some manipulated dump where one whale is moving their shares from stocks to bitcoin by cashing out there and cashing in here, we may see this type of movement, but again since stocks are highly regulated in almost all countries so it would be caught.

Seems to me that you have not been looking through price charts or market movements at all during the last 2 months and this month. There has been a drop in the stock markets of all countries and the cryptocurrency market at the same time. This may be just speculation but its being called an economic recession for now on. It might bounce back sooner or later.

Now the thing to note is that crypto is not immune to market movements of other sectors. It does get influence and moves in the same direction. But more comparison is useless unless we get further information as to why the drop.

I think the words "Global Economic Crash" answers for itself. If a massive scale crash happens no market is safe as well as the assets that comes with it. Remember that all persons at this time are liquidating, all their assets for cash as it's what they need the most. We cannot really say that a particular market at that point can be considered as a safe haven because at any moment any big investor or group of investors could start cashing out on the market. At this moment your capital is safest as a fiat currency because even before the prices of assets starts to recover you can possibly buy them at their cheapest price.

I think in the event of a global economic crash, Bitcoin price would be affected negatively as most investors and traders would be cash trapped and so wouldn't have enough cash to put into Bitcoin trade.
This means demand for Bitcoin would decrease while supply would be excess, leading to price tank.

I think there isn't much point in trying to guess what will happen. It's going to be more dependent on behavioral economics rather than purely rational values. If bitcoin were an actual currency, it can fulfill the same purpose regardless of whether the price is high or low, and driving it up as an asset, makes it hard to be a currency. Given that there are also so many other alternatives, Bitcoins' main advantage is really first mover advantage, and it's hard to say how long that would last.

We've already seen in previous rise and falls, that bitcoin has been driven greatly by speculative demand.

This is exactly what people have been saying recently. Since we peg the value of bitcoin to the more liquid fiat currency used to purchase it, the price drop of the other markets make people sell off their crypto assets as well. Thus bringing down the price of bitcoin in the fiat market. Very few people are actually putting in their traditional stocks and commodities money into crypto.

That adoption will take a lot of time. The traditional investors look for a inherent value and legal risks of an asset before investing. For that bitcoin is not the biggest option.

Well, for me, bitcoin is a trading platform the people would be able to use during a depressing economic crisis.
There will always be some people who would accept bitcoin during the crisis as payment because they know the long-term investments work and both of the party will benefit. (the trader and the buyer)
Since bitcoin is a decentralized currency, the numbers will never change but, the decision to its value is quite alarming. It would take a thousand discussion before the value would be decided

We have seen some examples of this before, a global crash is so big that crypto is usually not affected, usually not in a good way but not in a bad way as well. The volume constantly drops and the price usually stays afloat at whatever price it is and yes sometimes goes up and down but that happens right now too so nothing new and the world continues to recover itself.

Crypto doesn't get a major change in their prices or even the interest because people are focusing more into their day to day lifes instead of focusing on future profits, global crash doesn't mean "oh I can make so much more money now" or something for people, those are just investors.

Regular people focus on how to pay the gas bill or phone bill or the next meal instead of thinking about the investment chances.

If a worldwide economic crisis makes people start to send each other bitcoin to pay for stuff, then maybe there's a chance we can escape the banking ponzi scheme we're all living under.

All it takes for Bitcoin to become worldwide currency is for landlords to accept it as payment, food stores, restaurants, gas stations. Soon as everyone starts accepting Bitcoin for payments, the government will need to adapt.

For the time being people are still locked up in the fractional reserve banking ponzi scheme. Everyone works their entire lives for bankers.

When 2008 economic crisis, cryptocurrency market still not exist. Its hard to predict what happen with cryptocurrency. But if economic crisis happen, i think investor searching new investment and cryptocurrency will be one good alternative. Bitcoin as store of value will be favorite instrument because having biggest liquidity in market
personally i am happy in economic world in crisis.in my opinion there are massive money movement from other finance market come to cryptocurrency market.as new investment world cryptocurrency could be right place to save their assets.

Some of the commentators raised valid points in their submission but I am of the opinion that when there's a global economic crisis that cryptocurrency would be affected negatively.
This is because ,In global economic crisis people would because trapped and so won't have enough for cryptocurrency investment which will make for decreased demand and high supply.

Anything may possible. Even the short term impact will be in negative, we can expect more investors rushing to bitcoins which may bring positive things later on.

In global economic crisis people would because trapped and so won't have enough for cryptocurrency investment which will make for decreased demand and high supply.
That will not be true. If economic crisis will be arising then we can expect institution funds will be moving out of stocks and bonds and may go to gold and cryptos kind of alternative mode of investments.

If that would happen then Bitcoin will be the salvation of the poor. Remember how the crisis takes place 10yrs ago? It made a testament that people will need an alternative ways to prevent it, eventually now that we have Bitcoin and cyprocurrencies, I think economic crisis cannot affect most of the players in crypto.

I think global economic crash will result in crash of all markets including crypto currency. May be people will move towards crypto as it is relatively new and even a small investment in crypto can boom the prices to 2x or more. But all in all,  i hope economic crash will not occur and things remain normal.

If there will be a global economic crash. All types of commodities are affected and the main target affected is in a low class of living. Included here is the value of Bitcoin because USD dollar is the prime uses when we processed in every transaction.

People will search for another payment method to replace fiat because of the global economic crash. And maybe people will change from using fiat to the bitcoin, and they will use bitcoin for the new payment because they don't trust the government. People will on the chaos situations and they become angry, but I don't if it's effect to bitcoin price or not because bitcoin and fiat are different. But the truth, people will find the replacement of fiat so they could still make a transaction and buying their needs.

If a global economic crash hits and bitcoin is the main payment mode at that time, of course, just like the fiat currencies which are currently the main mode of payment, it'll be affected. Its value will also condole with the economic crash because this depends on the demand and supply of conducting commerce. If the commerce experiences recession and people are having hard days to buy and sell, this will surely impact the main medium of exchange (bitcoin per se at that time), which is the measure of value of the economy.

But when individual countries were facing economically crisis, people are moving into bitcoin as bitcoin is completely independent of that country and bitcoin acted as safe asset for store of value. But, I'm not sure what will be happening when more countries will be facing recession. I believe even bitcoin prices will be impacted negatively, when more people will be switching over into bitcoin due to global economic crash, it will find positive progress in long term.

Yes, when people will be needing their money for their daily needs then how we can expect them to buy bitcoins. Money in-flow into bitcoin will get heavily impacted if global economic face a crash.

Even though bitcoin was created to avoid especially those kind of events that may take place in the future, I think bitcoin will also be affected by a global economic crash. It's pretty logical since most of the investors are not keeping all their investments in one the place. If gold price crashes probably many other investments will go down by dozens of percentages. People are going to be scared of a bitcoin crash and sell their bitcoin wich will eventually lead to a crash. Of course there always are people who truly belive in something and they will think bitcoin will remain strong and not crash. From my perspective I think bitcoin will also crash and probably after that it will start growing and slowly surpass other investments.

There’s a possibilities for this since the market is still affected by the status of one economy. But hopefully, when the global economy crash again, investors will go to cryptomarket to continue making money and it will make this market ahead compare to other market. Let’s not depend on any market let’s all be safe and invest the money we can afford to lose, also always take profit to save some money.

i think bitcoin will also crash because if there is a global economic crash , people doesnt have enough money to buy cryptos . they will rather prioritize their own needs as it is more important than cryptocurrencies .

As far as i know , global economic crash is verry rare to occur because majorities of the countries are wealthy enough to sustain their needs  .  economic crashes do only happen on poorer side of the countries and mostly asian countries are affected to this issue though it didnt take much time for them to recover  .

Bitcoin doesn't depend on the global economy, only indirectly. If this happens, then, most likely, Bitcoin will also drop in price, but not much. Maybe, on the contrary, its price will rise, no one can predict this, because there has never been a similar case in history.

As the world economy used to live without bitcoin and bitcoin today lives absolutely quietly without the economy.
Bitcoin is a digital asset not tied to any real values and this is its most important advantage.
Stock prices change in different directions and the price of bitcoin goes in a completely different direction. This can be clearly seen on the charts. And whatever happens to the world economy, the price of bitcoin will live its own life.

Bitcoin is obviously not tied to the banking system. The fall is because of a selling pressure in layman terms what may have pushed that to happen is another endless debate of several reasons being cited. Now this is unregulated so we cannot have confirmed news of what may have caused it. However during the time of the crash there were crashed in stock and commodity markets as well.

This reciprocation between the traditional market and the cryptocurrency market does not seem to be related. I think we are still new to how far they can be related. Maybe in future bigger crashes in stocks might show uptrend in crypto. Only time will verify the same.

We cannot start pointing out any correlation at the moment, since thus far there has been no past scenario to look at to be able to know how things would end up working out. A lot of people may have their different thoughts based on different reasons, but for me, what brought about the deflationary nature of bitcoin and what urged the creation of bitcoin and its features was basically linked to the previous crisis. One thing for sure, most people who are investors and smart, would not want to be in fiat, and in such periods, assets tend to increase, hopefully, we will get bitcoin serve its purpose as a digital asset.

You are using Venezuela as an example but there are more FUD news regarding it than good news. Only natives of that country would be able to say whether it is having a good impact or bad impact. We have seen how to economists of the world have explained the situation to become worse with crypto but it may have been just speculation.

A crypto-based economy is a longshot idea even today. In a economic crash the source of buying or selling crypto is again fiat currency so they will lose value as well. Its not going to be a opposite side movement but a same side movement.

But bitcoin might also get affected because people might fear that the economic crash may pull the bitcoin down also. So there are some scenarios but I believe will survive any economic turmoils in the future and demands will still go up even there is a slowdown in economic activities.

It depends upon what sort of economic crash it is and how much severe its going to be. If its like U.S Dollar under a lot of pressure and stock market crashing, then people need something new to enter in which is not yet grown to its potential and at that very moment bitcoin can play a major role.

I think the development of the crypto currency and the destruction of the crypto currency lies with its investors if the global economy is destroyed I think if there are still those who use crypto currencies there will still be
There is literally no way to destroy a cryptocurrency once it has been created that too being censorship resistant and immutable transactions with no middleman involved. Investors are just speculators here nothing more nothing less.

If every country already adopt cryptocurrency for sure it can prevent the crash, but since most of the country are still making way to destroy cryptocurrency soon we will face new economic crisis. I believe cryptocurrency will become stronger since investors will love to secure their money and buying coins can be a good idea for them.
Even if they dont its not a problem. Crypto will grow despite every country accepting it. The more non-acceptance crypto has the more its shows the apprehension that governments have against it. Who wants to track their own dirty corruption through immutable blockchain? Entire governments would collapse if all those information came into public view. The future is pretty bullish for bitcoin and long term adoption will happen and it will continue to grow even when other market may collapse.

Bitcoin is different currency if ever we have an economic crashed or economic crisis, bitcoin will not be affected. The currency affected is Fiat money.
Crypto currency can help through subsidized the affected party through use bitcoin as a currency reserved to can pay all the debt of those financial institution affected

There is not clear evidence that there is such a correlation indeed. But some recent events point that fiat and crypto behave opposite.

If an economic crisis is going to blow then cryptocurrency market is going to go upwards as people will start seeking for other ways of storing the value of its money and resist the inflationary trends that will take place.

A recent example is the Turkish Lira crisis 2018 when Turks started buying bitcoin as they saw that their currency is losing value.

Since bitcoin is so new we do not have a way to know exactly what will happen but there are only three scenarios that can play out, the first scenario is that bitcoin crashes as well, the economy of the world could be so affected that bitcoin suffers the same fate, the second scenario is that nothing happens, since bitcoin is not correlated to the stock and bond markets then bitcoin keeps moving in its own way, and the final scenario is that bitcoin benefits from the crash as people begin to look for a place to park their money.

I also think that way.Bitcoin is created when there was an economic crisis so when a global economic crash might appear,i think people will resort to finding some good options where they can still make profits even when their own fiat currencies have crashed. This may be the best time that bitcoin will be given much acceptance by the people since their own currencies have lost their value.

bitcoin will help because the global economy is relied on real money or paper money so in my opinion bitcoin will replace all the current global economy and my advice is my choice is the best way and solution
most likely like that because bitcoin does indeed help when the global economy is destroyed or not, because the best way to improve is by adopting bitcoin to become an investment
That might happen. because when the global economic crisis occurs, certainly inflation will occur everywhere, people will look for other currencies to save the value of their wealth, and maybe many people will save their wealth to bitcoin, its possible right ?

There are good points you have presented but these are not the things that may be considered to affect bitcoin value. There may be some other things that could push the usage of bitcoin to probably a halt or to be very much bearish. War, Famine and diseases all might contribute to a global economic crisis or global economic crash. But let us not be too negative about things, instead we need to plan to make each of our own economy stand still. If we cannot cooperate we will perhaps lose the brighter future for humanity. Using bitcoin might be a good avenue for making each one of us strong. Remember how anybody can be of help to anyone anywhere by using just bitcoin. This may be a very good idea of helping one another in times of crisis. Let bitcoin be the start of a united world if possible and whenever possible.

That is a possibility but have you thought about the opposite scenario, it is not rare for the price of gold to go up under an economic crisis and that is because people are looking for a store of value, if the next crisis is a crisis related to the fiat currencies around the world then the most valuable asset for a person will be a currency that does not lose value against fiat and while gold can fit that definition many will put their eyes on bitcoin as well and decide it is a good option like gold.

Bitcoin is said to be created because of the 2008 financial crisis that has affected the world economy. Bitcoin will be put into a test if another economic crisis happen in the future because it is said to be resistant to the troubles facing other markets. Bitcoin is peer-to-peer, deflationary and created by a person or people who had lost faith in traditional markets.

If the global economy collapsed because of inflation, it would be good news for Bitcoin. People will use Bitcoin and Altcoin as an alternative currency because they all have limited supply and cannot create more so inflation cannot happen. But the global economy will not collapse easily if that happens, maybe the economy will move vigorously to overcome bad things.

When the recession happens, people will definitely think of gold or Bitcoin immediately. because gold is always a valuable thing over time and it is always favored by humans.
BTC can sometimes enrich people because it is a deflationary mechanism and it will prevent a lot of influence from inflation and devaluation of the currency.

I am sure that if there is an economic shock in the world, surely crypto will still be shaken. because the cycle of crypto movement is also from the flow of economic movements in the world. then the economy in each country must be improved properly so as not to make crypto decline again.

In the event of a global economic downturn, it is obvious that everyone will try to withdraw their funds from all exchanges and banks as soon as possible. What happens to the banks? They will collapse, close, and will not pay anything to anyone. With the exchanges will be the same. Most of the bitcoin will be sold, which will lead to a price collapse. It's my opinion.

Yes. Once there is economic global crash, the demand of bitcoin will increase more because people will eventually turn on to bitcoin as a payment system. Bitcoin will not be much affected with the economic crisis, this might be the only way that bitcoin will be more acknowledge by the people and will resort into using it at the end of the day.

How will the economic development crash overnight? Its not something that happens anytime commonly and most governments have analytics running extrapolations to prevent these from happening. Thats why different methods and schemes are made in order to make sure the demand supply balance in maintained and the inflation rate is kept in control.

Bitcoin is promising to this but we have already seen how far the government are trying to censor crypto and thus I dont think they would be happy to accept it. Unless of course big industrialists and companies force them to accept it, in which case they might.

And when there is Global Economic crash, I think everyone needs money. When everyone needs money guess what they do? Sell some things and when there is economic crash, it's hard to sell something so you need to decrease price to get money asap. So I think people will start to sell bitcoin which will lead to a decreased price. In best situation, people will stick with bitcoin and manually try to increase price which will be ideal and bitcoin will become not major but one of the most usable currency. But I highly doubt this last one will happen.

The only explanation that I know he gave about cryptocurrency is that it is only meant for transactions (peer-to-peer transactions and there is no other explanation, he never talked about investment… if he did, then I don’t know, maybe cause I haven’t taken my time to research about it. Then to answer your main question, I don’t think Bitcoin can be affected by the economy, Bitcoin is completely independent and no matter what happens… it is still going to remain what it is and there is not going to be any changes.

But we should know that *initial investments would be very beneficial during a crash *

In global crisis people won't run into a high volatile speculative asset. Also people won't even know how to do it.

The issues to enter the market are the same than 2 or 3 years ago. Too complicated for the average Joe. Unless hedge funds, pension managers, etc etc start getting into so people can invest on crypto and feel safe, nothing is going to happen.

Also remember that when there's a global crisis, people need money, so probably a lot already invested will cash out.

Economic collapse will happen with countries and the possibility to happen globally is very low

Bitcoin being decentralized won't get affected on such collapse, but when the investment gets
lacked the same reflects over the growth of bitcoin.

If something goes out of hands governments might think of bitcoin, but prior to that they'll plan
to print currencies of their own to overcome the crash. This is what happening for long.

Now it's been ten years and bitcoin have overcome several such situations similar to crash,
and the same makes it stay strong unlike any kind of economic crash.

Bitcoin will be dump as people will ensure to keep real money in their pockets therefore they will sell most of their Bitcoin as Bitcoin together with the banks can be useless in some part of the world. Money will be proven most important in time of world crisis as it can be use instantly anywhere, anytime or what ever we need to survived.

I think the same, I've seen a lot of people saying BTC will be used in a moment of a global crash, but people need money in hard times to be secure about food, bills, family etc
No doubt people will sell BTC first instead of cars, house and another stuff

And it's the same, the history repeats, the ones with lots of money buy cheap stuff from desperate ones, like houses, companies and cars, because they can live more time without any income

USA and Chinese government are and will be most against Bitcoin. Simply because USA currently hold World reserve currency and China hopes to grab it from USA in upcoming years.  Bitcoin will steal that from them and other countries will not really care as much as China and USA will.  To be able to print world reserve currency as USA can do right now it means that you can simply print it to repay your debts. Other countries cant print USD in which they borrowed money.

Depends on the scale, of how bad the crash is. IMHO.

-On a "low" crash some people might hold their bitcoins if they still have enough cash with them and some might even buy bitcoins if the price lowers from people dumping in panic or out of need for cash.

-On a "high" crash, it'll get dumped HARD. People would need money and there might be no new buys in for a long time.

-On a "very high" crash, things would be a bit more interesting. There's a possibility that bitcoin would actually become THE money used by the people. An example is Venezuela, where people started using dollars and bitcoins to transact because whatever cash that remained in their hands has become worthless.

Yes, many people may think that crypto can become even a higher risk during the crisis and start to cashout.

Besides, they can invest in gold and precious stones. I suspect everything that has real value for decades (diamonds, platinum) will be more popular. Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies might lose at least half of their price, but this is only my vision, not a prediction.

I think, at that moment, Bitcoin will be more and more expensive than ever.
Cryptocurrency is among the list of currencies next to fiat, thus if the economy is down with recession and inflation, people will fall back to bitcoin, which will increase it's value.
I am sure there will be a lot of people who put money to buy Bitcoin and hold them until the economy is stable.
A lot of people will have to turn into investors, to put up their money to buy and hold for a long while, at least till the economy becomes buoyant.

Yes, Bitcoin appeared after the last general economic crisis, so there is no practice on this issue yet.
In my opinion, if the next global economic crisis begins, this means that a common currency will sharply depreciate, and many, in order to avoid the depreciation of their funds, will invest them not only in gold, real estate, but also in cryptocurrency. Because of this, it will have to grow in value.
If this is not a crisis, but a global catastrophe, then the fate of the cryptocurrency will depend on the size of such a catastrophe. With global cataclysms, people just will not be able to cryptocurrency.

I think that in a global crisis, buying Bitcoin, gold and reserve currencies of the world, can be a way to save your money for many people. Bitcoin was created during a severe financial crisis, perhaps Satoshi Nakamoto wanted to help people and provide another reliable asset. But at the time, this technology was popular only among a few people. I think that if there is a big financial crisis Bitcoin will be in demand among the population.

LIke in HK, Venezuela and other country, spike in btc trading can be observe because people are buying crypto for easy safekeeping, potability  and liquidity. Whenever they go, they can access their btc, thats why its convenient.

I think bitcoin will be the solution during the economic crisis. we take the example that has happened in Venezuela. In recent years Venezuela has experienced an economic crisis that has caused hyperinflation and the collapse of the Bolivar currency. To overcome this the Venezuelan community has begun to adopt bitcoin as an alternative payment. now they rely on bitcoin to make payments. so that when the world experiences a global economic crisis then bitcoin can be a solution.

Everything will be fine with Bitcoin. Vaughn China shows that if economically pressed, then transfer money to a cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is decentralized and multifunctional.
maybe it's one of the advantages of the bitcoin cryptocurrency in particular but no one can know with certainty the future development of crypto currencies such as how, if you follow the development and technology of crypto currency will develop rapidly along with the development of the digital era

I think developed countries will keep their assets in Bitcoin if the global economy crashes. Because Bitcoin is a decentralized system so the government cannot disrupt Bitcoin. I assume if if that happens then we will see that the price of Bitcoin will increase due to increased demand for Bitcoin.

Although many people say bitcoin is not in the world economy, but for me it could have an impact. The world economy crashes, investors will save their money by switching to investments such as gold or crypto. So that the condition of the crypto market may change up and down, the risk of crypto investment is greater than stock investment in the economy.

For sure that will happen if ever there will be economic crash, people will buy more gold and crypto. Cryptocurrencies would likely be an alternative to the US Dollar.  As a result, all dollar-pegged stable coins might then be sold off heavily and tested on their ability to store value.

In my opinion, people will find alternative ways to save their assets and social status. If would collapse, people will definitely disappoint in government,  buy gold and high-risk assets.

Most likely, it will also fall in price, how it was wrote to neironix. io, that even classic gold is not 100% protection against the crisis, because during the crisis, gold also declined in price, but it decreased many times less and then recovered faster. So with Bitcoin there will most likely be a similar situation, it will follow all markets, but then it will very well rebound to new heights.

Gold prices will certainly increase rather than crisis. You know, when there are signs of war between major countries, the price of gold suddenly rises because people always believe that the value of gold will be kept after economic crises.
That's the way it is, so I think gold and bitcoin have risen. In short, scarce, high-value things often go up very sharply.

Agree that scarcity will increase but you should know that product stability is also essential, which is the criteria that investors and people will choose when an economic crisis occurs, and gold is a very stable product and cannot disappear over time while bitcoin does not possess the same qualities, the value of bitcoin is like stock numbers. People will not be too fond of holding it during a crisis when nothing can maintain the price and help bitcoin go up or stabilize, and with low demand, people will dump bitcoin

Bitcoin will stay where it is even with or without global economic crash. Bitcoin is not driven and influenced by the economic progress of our world because it only relies on the basic law of demand and supply. As people will invest more in bitcoin then the price will go up and it will continue to have a progress throughout the years.

I think its value will rise. because simply bitcoin now has no one to manage it. and its Halving mechanism goes on every 4 years and bitcoin is undoubtedly one of the rare assets.
it will still keep prices or prices rise higher than ever when the economic crisis occurred.

To follow the basic law of demand and supply investors need to have the amount to allocate in a volatile market and do you think they will trust a market which is volatile in times of financial crisis, they will go for safe asset like gold rather than investing in any other asset, so what i am trying to tell is that the financial situation determines demand and supply and global economic crash will have an impact in the bitcoin market too.

Bitcoin doesn’t depend on any economic status but yes the price will be affected and its normal for an economic crisis. Many says there will be a new financial crisis worldwide, many predicts bitcoin is a safe place for that but we have no guarantee. China is making a big move on blockchain, i hope it will be a good effect for the market as a whole and doesn’t affect much of any crisis.

From the beginning of history it has been shown that Gold has a lot to do with getting many countries out of crisis, in case there is a worldwide crash, FIAT money is what affects, bitcoin is considered today as gold digital, its price would increase with respect to any falling currency, but it would not suffer.

Bitcoin today can be interpreted for many as a reserve or shelter of money despite volatility, as it has been shown in economies such as those in Argentina and Venezuela, they are a part of the world where they have problems falling in fiat currency generating thus inflation, where Bitcoin is the best solution being a deflationary economy that fights and wins against a fully inflationary economy.

In the event of a worldwide crash, the case would be macro for Bitcoin, where FIAT would be on the floor causing Bitcoin to reach very high price levels, because its value would not degenerate, the opposite could happen because much more demand would be generated and they would not want Leaving the Bitcoins, that is, high demand and low supply has a high price reaction.

For now we can't see that Bitcoin or crypto is depending on the economic, but once there is massive economic crash, for sure that there is an effect in crypto too, as people will become panic and they will cash out their money in stocks, in bank and everywhere so they can reserve their fund, people will prefer buying gold too as this can be lower in price at that time which they can sell in the future at higher price.

People keeps on saying that bitcoin will save a country from global economic crash. But how? Bitcoin has nothing to do with economy of a country. At least for now. The price of bitcoin is compared using fiat currency. Thus as economy falls, the price of bitcoin will also get hit quite hardly. If only people stopped measuring the value of bitcoin using a fiat currency. That maybe a whole new story. Let the crypto market determine the price of the goods in the market.
And, when the economy starts to crash, and when people realizes that, they will start investing on bitcoin making bitcoin more and more valuable.

I have same opinion regarding this matter. Bitcoin wont get hurt from any sort of crisis. If anything at all, it will just gain more fame and become hero of many people. Whatever people say, no one can deny the fact that bitcoin has saved its investors from financial crisis and produced millionaires at very young age too. For those who oppose our thinking, they should just wait and watch as crisis is expected to hit us soon.

In fact, it is difficult to predict what will happen to Bitcoin in the event of a global economic crisis. It is possible that people will buy it in the hope of saving their money from hyperinflation, as they do in Venezuela for example. But it is also possible that Bitcoin, which does not have a legal status in many countries, will scare off buyers by the lack of laws regulating the turnover of the cryptocurrency.

The use of cryptocurrency in Venezuela is different from the adoption of crypto in other Latin American countries. The United States imposes a total economic embargo on Venezuela so that the Government-owned Oil and Gas Company in Venezuela (PDVSA) accepts and collects bitcoin to support operations.

In my opinion, the Global Economic Crash means that the picture is, the economy of the United States collapsed, China won the trade war, its polar gravity shifted from America to China, Demand for gold will rise. Cryptocurrency will develop as an alternative to saving assets and moving the wheels of the economy.

So far, we only see the crisis from an economic perspective. But we rarely discuss the crisis caused by the problem of world food security. The world will also experience Crashes when there is a decline in food production or food famine continuously throughout the world. A solution for the economic crisis can be sought but if we have already talked about the crisis of natural resources especially those related to primary needs such as agriculture, clean water, and marine ecosystems, then we must pay full attention.

Learning from Africa, which has the widest desert in the world and its climate which has been experiencing drought all year long and the majority of its population is experiencing hunger, we can imagine if it happens all over the world. At that time money will also be of no value.

I think when the world economic system crashes it will not have an impact on bitcoin. because bitcoin has its own market and also there is no connection with any decentralized and free country. only demand and supply can affect the price of bitcoin. and if we look at bitcoin made in 2009 after the world experienced a global crisis in 2008. I think bitcoin was made to be a solution during the economic crisis. when a crisis occurs some fait currencies will experience inflation so we need to have other alternative means of payment. and bitcoin is suitable for use during an economic crisis.

Bitcoin can crash with lower price if economic world have bad, many digital assets currency price depend with how economic condition in the world, when many investor have faced bad world economic they will keep waiting for investing with bitcoin and altcoin, but when bitcoin up economic world will increase and have positive way.

It cannot be ascertained when the global economy crashes, the price of bitcoin will experience the same thing, and vice versa. bitcoin will certainly not be affected by anything like that, because in reality the value of bitcoin will increase or decrease depending on the demand and supply of many people.

I agree, but have you thought that if the global economy will crash, including products, and fiats have devalued where its existence is not important at all, think how we can cash out all of the profits we have in bitcoin if its price will surge up when that happens, wish of luck if by that time, everything could be bought by bitcoin then there is no problem with that, but what if not?

Our cryptocurrency will also become useless if we can't use it on buying our needs, it's like we're back on the stone age relying on the nature's resources to live.

There's a possibility that bitcoin would be affected if the world experiences an economic crash. Considering the fact that large countries like China would be included in the crash, having China as a huge contributor in crypto can already explain why bitcoin would also be affected in the crisis. Bitcoin's market value usually depends on how many of it has been mined and how many are investing on it. If ever a crisis occur, let us hope that bitcoin would only get mildly affected so that it can help revive the economic failure.

Definition is simple 'Hyperinflation occurs when the government allows inflationary pressure to build up in the economy by printing excessive money, which leads to a gradual rise in the prices of commodities and services'. Today we can see bitcoin for 10k dollars, tomorrow the price of bitcoin can be 20k dollars, in one month 100k. Its like that when you get hit by the economic crash and when government start to print money like crazy, together with new bills, quotations:
`Yugoslavia re-denominated the dinar for the fourth time on 1 October 1993, at a ratio of 1 million to 1. This did not mitigate the hyperinflation, and the 1993 dinar lasted for only three months`
`The 1993 dinar had the largest denomination out of all incarnations of Yugoslavian currency: the banknote, featuring Jovan Jovanović Zmaj had a face value of 500 billion (5×1011) dinara .`
    https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/97/500000000000_dinars.jpg/150px-500000000000_dinars.jpg

I survived that period, and you can find somewhere information that prices of everything were double every 15h more or less. Today milk is 100, tomorrow its 200 and like that for years. So if this world gets hit by global economic crash fiat money will become worthless.

Up until now there hasn't been any proof saying that there is a connection or correlation between market's stock and bitcoin. A solid and accurate prediction cannot be considered. But technically looking at it, cryptocurrencies are mainly used as a store of assets so bitcoin is really highly inflation resistant. If global economic crash happened, it is more likely that the stocks of the market will also crash, but since there isn't any proof of the two's correlation, bitcoin is free from the worries of the economy. So if a global recession took place, it's still tentative if people would see it as a safe haven, refugee, and a chance to avoid their money being affected by the global recession or would they see it as another risky investment because of the uncertains.

Instead of depending on governments to do something good, it would be better for us to focus on improving financial health on our own. Bitcoin lays a high threat to governments. It takes away economical control fro them. So a big resistance can be expected from legal authorities in accepting bitcoin. As individuals, we should use bitcoin and good altcoins for becoming rich and stabilizing our financial status.

The cyptocurrency market will also definitely crashed if the global economy crashed. All of the financial market is affected so all of the investors will play safe and they will be panic that can lead to withdrawing of their money. That's why economists says that it is better to invest in assets that can give us passive income. The stock market will probably crashed so we should also stay away with it if the global economic crash happen.

I believed that the market of bitcoin will remain tight and strong even there is a global economic crash because people know that bitcoin is not dependent on the happenings in our world and in a matter of fact, it might even go up even there is a global economic crash because people will rush in to store the value of their money through bitcoin.

It will depend on countries say on adopting cryptocurrency if atleast they allowed to have exchanges or stores that can use BTC, it may solve some of their economic problem but if the government is threaten or giving them wrong interpretation then it will influence their people to not try it and just face the crisis like how they do it always.
How to use  Bitcoin and "good" Altcoin to make you rich? I don't know that! :D

Using cryptocurrencies to become rich isn't the same as trading cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrency trading can help you get rich as long as you make a profit, but when you use it, for example, using cryptocurrency to pay, there is no chance to get you rich unless you use it as a speculative asset or for trading.

Btw, did you have to pay any tax from this source? If you didn't do that, your country won't get any benefit when you use cryptocurrency ;D

If there is a global economic crisis, Bitcoin is badly affected. Let's consider the times when the Bitcoin price is the highest. When the US dollar policy is loose. So if more dollars are pressed, the price of Bitcoin and similar things increases.

That is not true. All else will crash when there is a global economic crash. If you remember last 2017, the price of BTC rose up to $20k and it plummet down to $3k in less than a year all because people are taking profit. What protect us from those users who will take profit while the economic crash is taking place?

Bitcoin is not safe when economic crash takes place, you will need fiat to buy food. I don't a merchant will start accepting crypto while the crash happens as well.

We can't say that crypto market isn't dependent upon the world happening. It has certain marginal value to make an impact, beyond which it reacts to the world market changes. If there happens no change relative to the economic crash then it seems to be something manipulated in my view. Whatever might be if things gets used at the right time then it yields good return out of the investment unlike the market.

Even if the crash happens, still bitcoin is worth holding and the prices are in thousand dollars. As far as merchants are concerned, they will tend to accept it if they are completely aware of the worth of bitcoin. Bitcoin never loses the tendency of increasing in value and that is when everybody enjoys massive income. This is quite normal for the investors of bitcoin to observe strong dumps and pumps.

I hate when people talks about bitcoin like it is a God. A changing life for all. Bitcoin is a peer to peer network designed to have a decentralized and transparency that includes the use of technology. It is not the reason to raise economic growth. It is not also a savior for a dying economy. Let us not all depend in bitcoin because it is like a fiat. An updated paper money.

I think a global economy crash would only bring good news for the crypto industry as the rules of crypto growth is different to that of traditional markets and economy and hence, it will bring in more investors for future potential profits in crypto as the fiat money loses value over time :)

Since Bitcoin isn't incorporated into world economy and financial system global economic crisis or crash wouldn't influence it directly. Also, Bitcoin market and fiats markets are functioning differently and there is no direct connection between them. However, people might turn to Bitcoin as an alternative and as a consequence that might drive the price go up but that is only possibility that doesn't need to happen.

While bitcoin cannot be influenced directly it can be influenced indirectly, after all when you think of the value of bitcoin you think of it in dollars, and if there is an economic crises that originates in the United States then most likely the dollar is going to be affected.

And at first sight it may seem as if it is good for bitcoin but the truth is that if that were to happen many people are going to begin to sell their coins to recover the losses that they have in the stock market and that could reduce the price of bitcoin.

I agree with your discourse, that it is true Bitcoin in use for alternative payment tools, and I think for the development of Bitcoin will always improve in the future because it would not be possible Bitcoin will deteriorate if seen from the user and more fans.

There is a rule that everyone sets out for bitcoin as the more turbulent the economy becomes, the higher the price of bitcoin will be. Bitcoin is now likened to Gold and it has the potential to reduce inflation greatly when a war occurs. The most realistic example is that these days the price of bitcoin continues to rise due to political tensions between Iran and the US. This shows that the crowd is accepting this new rule and we should follow the trend. I predict that the price of bitcoin will be higher and higher if the political and economic situation becomes more and more chaotic.
But while the value of it increasing the economic of oje country will fall and surely have negative effect on them.  But for us bitcoin user it somehow a good news because the bitcoin become more valuable.

Except when you realize that most of the time this will create a domino effect on bitcoin too. Most people before understanding that bitcoin is decentralised might pull their investments out in hopes of gaining their losses on stocks and whatnot. A crisis could also disrupt technology, bitcoin's primary domain. So indirectly, one way or another, bitcoin will be affected by a global economic crash.

Instead, you might be one of the rich people that will come out of the economic crisis richer.

I don't see the way fiat will lose value because of bitcoin if not for the reason of war. Bitcoin isn't a fiat currency and only related for financial transaction. So , it is only for that reason that they are related.

In the event that the breakdown influenced neighborhood governments and utilities, at that point water and power would never again be accessible.
When this happens,  gold price will surge because it is a stable investment for decades.  People will be forced to go back to it for assurance and Safety of capital.

This is really something that should not happen at all, we know how much money we will all lose not only banks will close but even businesses, and worst thing our local currency will have no value just like Venezuela, so I don't think that people will prefer to buy Bitcoin at that time or will prefer buying golds.

We have economic crises all the time but a global economic crash is way more unlikely, however if it comes to pass most people are not going to worry about trying to buy bitcoin because their money is going to be worth nothing, at that time people are going to be worried about their survival and getting enough food and water.

It seems like a very dramatic scenario, and it is, and that is why I do not want it to happen, but if governments keep creating currency as if there are no bad consequences for it then at some point that will happen.

I agree with that. That could be the best choice for wealthy people or even to the ordinary people to save their wealth and preserve it through the cryptocurrency like bitcoin. Many digital currency as well will pop up in the market to gain advantage over the economic crash. USD price became worthless and people started to buy only simple foods for thosand of dollars, then usdwise bitcoin price will become much higher. And people will start to follow bitcoin price goldwise for example preev will show 1 bitcoin is 100 grams of gold.

The negativity this will cause will far outweigh the help it could give bitcoin. Sure, this might cause people to resort to bitcoin because of the dollar being useless, but if the dollar will be hyperinflated due to this economic crash, bitcoin might not be able to process all of this and could then cause bitcoin to collapse as well. Not to mention the panic that this could cause if ever.

In bitcoin market price it is hard to tell a concrete or exact price of the bitcoin because there are a lot of factors why the price of the coin goes up or down sometimes because of the whales that hold a lot of coin and depends on them when they release, also to the people who want to invest they contribute to the market and also to the economy because today many countries now are adopting and support the use of bitcoin to their payment and services.

Yes, but we would not expect the crash of the global economy to increase the demand for the bitcoin market. Let the bitcoin market increase by itself. I hope the mass adoption of bitcoin because the bitcoin trust level is getting higher. not because of the global economic crash.

    make you stronger!
What will happen in the future depends on the people entirely. Every man, or woman, can choose Bitcoin or some other crypto-currency instead
