Title: Are airdrops still worth getting into?
Post by: raidzero on November 05, 2018, 08:45:17 AM
I used to sign up for airdrops until I realised most of them are just scammy/ really not worth anything.

I want to know your thoughts about them. Are they still something interesting to get into? If so, what do you think is interesting?

I don't participate in airdrops any more. I used to, just to see how it works. But I realized pretty soon that they are worthless, if not all of them then probably 99.99% of them.  So don't waste your time on airdrops. You can surely find more constructive and creative ways to earn money than to spend countless hours registering, filling up forms, retweeting, and what not. And even if you get a couple of tokens by participating in airdrops, how will you cache them out? First, you would need to move Ethers to those addresses, and second in most cases their amount is so low you wouldn't be able to trade those tokens.

Most of them aren't worth anything anymore, maybe once in a while you will find something interesting, but most of them are garbage

Yes, a few years ago I often followed Airdrop, but it did not last long because it was airdrop. I felt that the question was worthless, but if you carefully researched the project they might have a really good project, the point is you must be careful.

Not into airdrops but most of the reviews and experience that I read says that its not really worth at all.

Early few years I guess with those old gems it's worth to try but nowadays it's different. You are even require with so many task before claiming your free token. It may be worth for some airdrops if the project is legit but as usual most of them are hard to predict.

If you have a community with many members, you can share airdrop referral links to your community. And if many register through your link. Then it will benefit you.
but if no one registers via your referral link, then you don't get anything.
Because now Airdrop always uses a referral link

forget airdrop, quickly go / ignore and benefit your time to work on something valuable and more promising.
a lot of tricks for beginners and I feel that. there are hundreds of airdrops scattered about, all of them just rubbish tokens.

at the moment I'm not sure that airdrops are still worth following, because almost all airdrops programs only give a few coins and are useless. if it can be sold it will not be able to WD from the exchanger.

Sometimes it's difficult to convince people in this space that airdrops are now worthless. But until you receive an airdrop worth $5 and you need ETH worth $1 to send it to an exchange to sell (for the legit ones), then you sell and get charged fees by the exchange and you're left with $3 worth of BTC or ETH. In summary, airdrops worthless! Once upon a time, they used to worth the time and effort, but not again.

Airdrops are not what they used to be. But it depends where you are from really. In some countries you can use $5 to feed you and your family in others you can t even buy an ice cream. But the value of airdrops nowadays is around $4-5, $10 if you are lucky. You have to make up your own mind if that is worth your time and effort.

I don't think airdrop is ever worth to join :). You should know that number of good airdrop is like looking for sun at night :). It's really difficult to find good airdrop to join, maybe 1 out of 1000 or 10000 airdrops is good. So you still wanna waste your time to find out that only good one out of thousands airdrops while it's much easier to find out a good bounty campaign to join.

I have not even seen any really good airdrop in the past few months. There are many airdrops from the altcoin listed at the coinmarket. But its value is only about 1-2$ per person, so it's not really too good to help the bounty hunter can hope for it

now Airdrop is no longer eligible to be followed for the following reasons
1. You will only waste your time using more useful things
2. Airdrop token / coins are always cheap and even difficult to enter the market
3. You always get a very small amount with a size of $ so you lose the shipping costs to the market

This cryptocurrency is a stage after stage cause I used to run from one group to another then and fill form like there is no tomorrow and later realize that airdrop is just a waste of time but at times good and not is most cases so I even had so many useless token in my wallet that has never listed on exchange for once , so good luck to the newbies that still follow that steps as soon they will realize and most especially now that every where is dry .

Most of the airdrops are worthless so I would suggest if you have free time and the airdrops does not require you to pass KYC you should participate as there is nothing to lose in trying and if you are lucky enough that slight percentage of airdrops which proves to be good one may fall under your radar and you may make some free bucks. ;)

if I am traumatized by airdrop which is mostly scam and unclear, airdrop is just a waste of time, especially the issue of payment or a price that does not reach $ 10, sometimes there is also airdrop asking for KYC which is very dangerous according to me because it can be misused

Airdrops today pay less compared to the airdrops back then and even if they pay, it's less than a dollar! Not worth risking your info for such low reward.

And the worst thing on airdrops is that, that you have to pass KYC after a work.
KYC is required by high-paying airdrops, but maybe you can imagine why because they need to collect as many IDs as possible.

If you find a project interesting, and than realize, it has an airdrop, than surely it worth to get into, but just trying to find Airdrops, and try to get into as many as possible, while knowing nothing about the projects, for me it does not really worth the time.

It will be interesting if the project have unique and good idea to help crypto to make it better. But if that project is don't have any presentation like white paper and website think twice before you join to that airdrop or project.

If the airdrop creator doesn't apply KYC requirement to get your airdrop and it's still worth to try to take a chance by participate in the airdrop but if the creator gives you mandatory to complete KYC and then forget it. There was no guarantee that this airdrop can't be turned as a scam.

Actually, most of the bounty campaign now are having an airdrop program as well as the current signature that I wear. Not all the airdrop here are  legit but I advice to you that if you want to participate on it, join on airdrop with a bounty project.

But participating in airdrop, they have too many fraudulent projects, their campaign is not real, so I less want to participate in, and if there are tokens it is very little, not worth, so I do not Intense with the airdrop.

Without white paper how can people simply join their Airdrop, we need to find anything unique from the different platform which will help them to deliver the product. I hope Airdrop is completely waste to join because we will be getting very less number of tokens and which we cannot able to move them to the exchanges.

Yeah your right. Airdrops is just wasting your time as those projects will not sure if they will get listed. Focus on bounties like social media, signature or blogging as those had higher chances that you will earn. Remember to research first before participating to minimize the risk of joining a fake project.

Just like free lottery ticket) You pay just with you time) But one-two can win) Don't waste time reading about them, just register where they want and forget) Once a month or two check your wallet and check the price of new coins) And all this is for people who have a lot of free time to waste)

airdrop now is just a scam, it can't make profit, if you want to follow airdrop you have to keep using the more selective tricks that are useful for determining good airdrop and getting profit. so I think not all scams but we just have to be smart to choose and more selective.

For some people that airdrops are things that can give them a few cents and when they are lucky they can get good results, but in calculation maybe only a few airdrops are profitable and the majority of airdrops end in failure. For me to work and trying to be able to fulfill the task for airdrop is a waste. For me the income we get does not match what we have done. Everyone must have their own perceptions and opinions, the choices that we decide will produce varied things.

Well, everything depends on the skill and thought of each person, some people may feel the airdops are wasted and the reward is too little compared to what they do but with some others, they have a newbie community group, they lead and use tricks to earn a big reward in the airdrop, they have no reason to feel that airdrop is wasted, even they think airdrop is heaven to them. In short, each person needs to determine what they have, and with that, they will realize the airdrop is worth joining or not

I think maybe you can't big expect to get money with airdrops. Everyone can participate in airdrops, so the prize is divided into small ones. Some airdrops are worth doing, but most air entrusts are worth no more than $1. I advise you to participate in other types of campaigns such as social bounty, signature bounty or others.

let alone airdrop, this time there is no guarantee for the bounty to get the expected rewards. you should look for other knowledge and forget about the airdrop program. may not be the first choice to be involved in this industry.

I don't think so. Airdroos are already having negative feedbacks before when downtrend is not yet that obvious so maybe what more at this moment. Right now, even bounties are not that profitable due to thr continuous market downtrend. So therefore it is patience which is the solution into this problem no matter if it is on bounty, crypto investment or in airdrops.

Win win? I don't think so that its still a win win situation for airdrops. Yes, it only requires a very simple task but you don't know if that coin is worth keeping. Sad to say that most of the airdrops now aren't giving that much profitability unlike before the old era's gone. Maybe there are some airdrops that are worth to take a shot but not all of them are like that.

There is really an airdrop project project that pays for each participant and the project contributes to crypto currency in the future. But I am sure to search for airdrop is very difficult, not to mention the airdrop bad image in the eyes of the bounty hunter is very bad so as good as any of the projects, everyone will be indifferent. Every developer will look for alternatives to aidrop to promote their products.

It's almost impossible to find out a good airdrop at the moment while whole crypto market is being in bad situation because of downward trend and effect from stock market. I know that at the end of last year, there were so many good airdrops to join, maybe you guys could earn hundreds or thousands dollars by joining only 1 airdrop but for now, I think it's impossible :).

Almost all airdropes are not worth anything, so many took part in them, and the result is possible only in isolated cases. I know such times when in the ayrdropas handed out really worthy coins.

Most airdrops are a waste of time only rarly are some worth there time you need to find out if you will be one of like less then 100 people participating if you want it to be worth it.
if there are just 5-10k people involved you are probably not going to get more then 5$ at most and then when you factor in fees and your time it is just not worth it at all.
All about exclusivity gotta find the rare ones

I have taken a part in a lot of different airdrops. Only let's say 2 times out of 10 you really receive anything that is worth even the slightest. Airdrops are (and have been) generally pretty useless, though there have been cases where you could really receive high amounts of money from them. Ontology (ONT) is a good example.

They are worthy wayback on last years but still most of them do end up on being a trash but the number is way more than as of this recent compared on previous.
Signing up on airdrops isnt really too complicated if you do really likes to join up but there are some crappy projects even airdrops do have KYC.Then better to skip those
and just stick to those simple sign up or task.

If you have time then just go in, but I find that airdrop is the place to help the ICO scammers create the community to the eyes of investors so if we have income then should not participate in activities If they get rewarded, it's very little, because they have too many people involved

It's better to learn to be a trader than to hunt for airdrop or bounty. airdrop is just for fun, not too serious. filling my spare time and getting money I think this is better. rather than being greedy and hoping a lot from airdrop.

These days projects relying mostly on airdrops to market their cryptocurrency are not anymore reliable as only a very, very, very few will eventually get some real value and majority (almost 99% if am not mistaken) will fail to reach the exchanges. Many are using airdrops to entice their participants to also do the self-drop so as to also raise funds that they can use to buy cryptocurrency exchanges acceptance and many are just using this scheme to victimized others. I usually only participate in an airdrop responded by the project I am doing bounty with. Gone are the days when there are serious people using airdrops for real...these days they are using it to scam people (though not all, of course).

the project for only a stroke of luck for a dev or hunters. If it turns out in the course of coin they are less sought after and the condition of the market for the moment are not good I'm sure all the dev will choose to step down. it should be noted that the makers of the project airdrop average does not have many funds so community is the most important factor.

Airdrops are actually always the easiest thing to participate in and just some one-time thing, but in most cases, I always see them as waste of that time, no matter how little the time is anyway. Most of the time, I have never really seen anyone come out to say they participated in an airdrop that they are sure will give them something substantial in the long run.

However, airdrops because of the little value the participant gets makes them an easy hold for the long term anyway as long as you participated in coins or tokens with long term usage and potentials.

Almost all airdropes are not worth anything, so many took part in them, and the result is possible only in isolated cases. I know such times when in the ayrdropas handed out really worthy coins.

well actually there are a lot of good airdrops out there, like this one for example ;
https://twitter.com/StellarOrg/status/1059823254121144320
they are giving you $25 in form of XLM, it is all about the project itself. if you can figure out a good project that doing this kind of airdrop, it is worth.

Yes airdrops are still worth it, why? you can get easy money by doing simple task so i think its still win win
Win win? I don't think so that its still a win win situation for airdrops. Yes, it only requires a very simple task but you don't know if that coin is worth keeping. Sad to say that most of the airdrops now aren't giving that much profitability unlike before the old era's gone. Maybe there are some airdrops that are worth to take a shot but not all of them are like that.

if they are asking you to do something in order to get their token, it is not airdrop but instead it is a bounty.
a brief explanation about airdrop is giving you something for free without doing anything, airdrop comes from air and drop.
air means something that is not exist but we can feel it aka not doing anything, and drop is a drop.

In this area, a lot of fraud. Some simply do not pay. Some forms are asked to specify private keys. And not experienced people, instead of earning money, lose their own coins.

Good luck signing up for airdrops that aren't worth the time committed to filling Google forms et al. The glory days of airdrops are long gone with the infiltration of the crypto world with scam projects. I've given up subscribing to airdrops except for projects that vested in by way of bounty

In any case, if we take into account all the negative information about air drops, then I definitely think not to take part in this type of activity. But in fact, the company air drop in terms of lack of control by the state is more profitable.

Always do the math if you are joining. If the airdrop reward is worth less than $100 forget about it especially if it's the ICO price as even ICO price now can't be attained by 100% of the time so even if it's $100 worth if it shows in the exchange it's only valued around half or just $10 at worst.

Airdrop is currently not potential, and participation is very time-consuming. Instead of joining the airdrop, you should invest and trade to earn more money. Or you can join the bounty if you have accounts on bitcointalk or social media. With the current bad market situation, we can not expect for airdrop.

Airdrop really does not have much value when joining. I have participated in more than 13 different Airdrop programs and my total salary is less than $ 500. It really takes a lot of time. That is a job that is not suitable for me. Bounty campaigns will have higher salaries and better than ever.

I do not think the Airdrop program is now good. There are currently a lot of bad programs going on and it is scams. I participated in a group of over 500 telegrams working on airdrop programs. Nope. The situation is different in the past though. A few years ago, there were some airdrops that ended up worth thousands of dollar. I've had one myself too and that was amazing. But now almost every airdrop is total crap that doesn't worth anything. Complete waste of time. Forget airdrops, even paid ICOs are also the same. Most of them are crap too.

Good thing you've realized that thing, there are decent ones but they are just worth a little penny and most of them are pretty demanding in terms of their task to participants, in the past they are profitable and it is not comparable to the present one where you can get scam coins, useless and little penny because there are tons of participants deducted from their stakes and pools, airdrops are not enough or on the other way around they are waste of time.

Airdrops are a waste of time and effort. You don't want to sign up for an airdrop worth a paltry $5 or less sometimes, except of course you're signing up with multiple accounts like the cheats do, then there's not much worth in airdrops if you're joining with a single account. I've given up on airdrops a long time ago. Will rather focus on bounties and other streams of income.

Airdrops never gave you much money anyway and I have always considered them to be a waste of time, but now there are many airdrops that are asking from you your personal information so those airdrops are beyond useless, never give your information to a stranger over the Internet for coins that at best are going to be worth a few dollars, there are many people that have done that and they're probably going to regret it in the future because their information is a lot more valuable than just a few dollars.

So if you depended on airdrops so you could make some money in this market I recommend you that you find some other way to make money because the conditions in the market are not going to improve soon.

Airdrops are not at all worthful now a days as they pay very less amounts as per ICO price around 5$ to max 50$. But when the token list on exchange the values becomes 1$ and sometimes projects don't even distributed token or turned out to be scam. It's better to take part in bounty campaign and here too you have to choose projects Wisely as chances of scam are high here too.

I see the all set of peoples in this forum. So most of the bounty hunters only participate in Airdrops joining. Because they don't know anything in Airdrops but just join blindly and move to some other airdrops in crypto. I am also not recommend in Airdrop participation but this will be useful some emergency situation.

Yes, absolutely. According to my experience the biggest pump with coins that were like a basis for the snapshot was prior the deadline. Expecting the here now from Aeron. They are conducting a very generous airdrop. Please take a look https://medium.com/@aeronaero/cryptobonusmiles-gleam-io-157d4c1c2641
Agree with the person above. Just a few days left till the end of the giveaway so it is high time to pick up some tokens if someone considers such purchase
It is not ordinary airdrop or giveaway. It is like a way how Aeron team says thx to its community and celebrating this way a 1 year aniversary of the project. So dont miss that.
No way mate. Just for single twitter rigisration I can make some hunderds of bucks. Who would miss that. Thx for article however I think it would be better just to put a link for a registration
PS here we go https://gleam.io/x1Cei/aeron-1250000-cryptobonusmiles-giveaway

Aeron as a project is very solid and promising and the current giveaway to the community just proves that one more time. Thats it

Yes, probably. However in long run all the altcoin will have to pass a test if they are really needed on the market. But on the current market Aeron is the best for the short term speculation

I don't think airdrops are worth to join anymore. At the moment, I think you guys only can earn about few dollars from each airdrop if you guys are lucky at the moment but seem like it's just enough to pay transaction and trading fee. LOL. I think it's better that you guys should forget airdrop now :).
It will be better to try if you have time but if not find others way, use the most meaningful resources. Trading and having updates.

I used to sign up for airdrops until I realised most of them are just scammy/ really not worth anything.

I want to know your thoughts about them. Are they still something interesting to get into? If so, what do you think is interesting?
I am not into airdrops due to the negative feedbacks such as being a waste of time. And since we are having a bad market behavior right now, it might make the situation for airdrops worse. Some airdrops are reported to be scam, and not paying. Positive reviews are only limited so it is for the participants to decide whether airdrops are really still worth getting into at times like this.

there is nothing wrong in airdrop because we can get profit by following it. even though it's actually a disadvantage for us if it's a scam but it doesn't really matter. because the time we use is not much in working on it

It's good to register as long no KYC for this activity. It will have many participants that will require to submit their identity would were turn out to be nothing in price.

Airdrops use to be a good thing before until it was abuse by all this EBTC, ELTC, ENEO etc we all know how that all ended, then the reason for airdropping is to build community around a project but that seems to be a thing of the past now because most of these airdrops do not even have a working product and and some that do it is a photocopy of another project. You can collect them if you have time but me I have said good buy to them

The hype of "E" altcoins for airdrops was pretty convincing that day and unfortunately, a copycat still a copycat. They price for those altcoins were pump temporarily and suffered as of today where they don't even worth holding for long term.

Well, airdrops are still a money for free so of you have much time to spare, you can join as much as you wanted and they can still profitable when being played by the manipulators.

At the beginning of cryptocurrency, i used to join in many of the Airdrops and most of them went very good in the beginning but later many people start scamming the people by giving fake Airdrops. Now it is complete waste to join in the Airdrops because we are getting very low valued coins which we cannot able to sell them in the market.

you are right. airdrop is sometimes used to advertise a project, and there's nothing wrong with that. other than that, airdrop helped quite a few people who worked on it. but, for this year, I think Airdrop has also become a little difficult to find.

a few days a lot has circulated airdrop from several projects on Stellar platform, the advantage is we can directly sell it when we gets airdrop, just by joining the telegram and adding trustline we get a few dollars in just a few minutes, airdrop is still interesting to follow

We just need to be able to find some good campaign and active team, other than that the problem will be time to research and get updates.

I'm not already a fan of airdrops but I would still answer this one.

Research would always matter because joining airdrops might really ask some simple task for you to get some tokens but these activities would
only depend if you do have the time to spend on but talking on going full time I'm not really seeing the reason on doing such thing.

if projects distribute tokens then why not take advantage of this. we do not buy tokens for money but simply take the donated
If you want to do it then you are free to do so, but it is not as simple as that, the amount that you are going to get out of an airdrop even if it is successful is not going to be a lot, if you take the time to analyze the amount of time and effort that it takes you to get those airdrops you will realize that you would have been better by doing something else than by claiming airdrops.

That is why no one bothers anymore to try to get airdrops and when you add that now they are requiring from you your personal information then not only this becomes a waste of time but it could also cause you to lose your information and a lot of money in the future.
