I have visited again the bitcoin chart and thought of many times what could be the graph will do to make any conclusions on what will going to happen on bitcoin this year. Take a look on the Image of chart below taken from https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#charts.

It seems like the graph stating that the bitcoin market price will turn back down. The chart has also implied that bitcoin has already reached its fame and it will just become a one hit wonder. Again, this because of the negative happening that news, FUD's that always keeping bitcoin agitated and struggling. If only people will tend to understand what is the purpose of bitcoin and why it was been created then probably things like this will not going to happen. As we all know that bitcoin has showed some benefits that a certain organization could integrate the system to make an easier, transparent through blockchain, p2p exchange, and no third party involve that could brought up huge transaction fees depending on the agreement.

However, the bitcoin system is still developing. This maybe struggle or challenge for the bitcoin system. In this year 2018 will be one of the basis for the possible outcome of bitcoin. What do you think of this system? Will Bitcoin achieve another milestone of achievement this year or will not? What could really happen to bitcoin before 2018 year end?

Bitcoin will likely be used by more people. During Thanksgiving and Christmas, I'm sure there will be more chatter and talk about developments in the world of cryptocurrency. I'm predicting a surge at some point. The price seems too stable to be where its at for the long haul.

But, Is it enough to move the bitcoin market price? Or will it create more market price downfall as bitcoin will be used as thanksgiving in Christmas time. I have doubts already about this and it seems bitcoin will just like a one hit wonder as OP stated above and will be part of an history to introduce another innovations which is more upgraded.

I bet that nothing will happen at the end of this year. Many people always like to use past experience to predict the future, but I have to say that this is a very stupid practice, what happened in the past does not mean the future must happen.
Because of this, investment are aways risky, otherwise everyone can get a stable return based on past experience, is this possible?
This year is not the same as last year，everything is different from last year. You can only depending on current data to make predictions not past data.

well, good luck trading in this market if that is the way you speculate it. i can see a lot of big losses in your future if you keep this up.

Bitcoin prices are currently experiencing a lot of decline since the beginning of 2018, but I will still strongly believe that at the end of this year it will be able to reach a very good peak price, and I really like investing in bitcoin or crypto compared to gold.

Seeing a less friendly situation and it seems that the value of bitcoin is declining today makes the holder may be a little worried, but this has become commonplace, just a month away hoping that in December bitcoin will have a good price and will improve in the coming year.

Well the speculation starts at October for bull run to happen. And then October had passed but no sign of bull run except there were few market price pumps for some altcoins in the market. Then the thought came next that the bull run will be possibly this coming November. So, we are now in the month of November and the market price still low and no signs of bull run. I know it is not about the speculation that move bitcoin market price instead it is the demand of the its investors or contributors that consider bitcoin as an asset, investment or etc. Now seeing the market price bull run will be possible this coming December? Well one should not expect it to happen. We have predicted it in October and it prove we are wrong. We have predicted also that it could in the month of November and seeing market price for bitcoin probably it will still fail. So, this coming December, bitcoin market price bull run will never going to happen.

Yes, of course the graph has being posted because it has something that could be used as reference. If the graph is credible then we should ask for coinmarketcap.com to remove that graph. As you can see the graph has relevance to market price movement. We may not be an expert when it comes to speculation but mind you that even the experts had failed on their speculations even with their expertise in finding good basis for their claim. You should know that trading is not all about how you speculate it is also about how patient you are and you know the basic. Buying bitcoin when market price is low and selling it when market price increases. And I am only taking fragments not all bitcoin should be traded at the same time.

i am not arguing about credibility of the chart you posted but pointing out that what you posted is raw data and without proper analysis on that raw data, it is worthless.
i tell you what, do you see the scrollbar at the bottom of the picture you posted? take the right handle and pull it to the left until you get past 2016. now you are seeing the same chart again and you can say the same thing you said here about that time too and it will be just as wrong. the chart isn't complete (it lacks about 4 years of data) otherwise i would have told you to continue going back and seeing the same thing over and over again. the funny part is that each time this pattern repeats someone comes along and calls bitcoin "one hit wonder" like you and expects the drop to continue!

Looks like bitcoin price will be stable to decline this rest of the year. There's no catalyst for it to go up yet.

Yes it has been a rough year for bitcoin there are like 10 new cryptocurrencies every month and the people prefer to take their chances with those new or with cheaper tokens. But at the end bitcoin is still the first and the king of cryptocurrencies. I think that in the next few months it will at least rise up about 10% so we should not be sad nor panic or anything let’s  chill have a cold  beer  and wait

I guess by now you already understand why we say that "past performance is not a good indication of future success". Not even the charts of 2017 could have predicted that the price starting from ~1000K would ballooned to almost $20,000 at the end of the year. As to what going to happen at the end of 2018? No one knows for certain, but the latest sideways trend might be a sign that we won't see any major movement, unless the Bakkt bitcoin offering would be one catalyst that we all have been waiting for to get away with this bearish sentiments.

I think there is one catalyst at least.

If I am not mistaken, BAKKT is just around the corner, I read it will be launched on Dec. 12 and that alone may at least push Bitcoin into more adoption.  Adoption.. we know what this mean, more audience and more demand that may probably start the increase of Bitcoin market.  There are lots of positive views about this event and many speculate that it will start a new bull run for Bitcoin.

No one can really tell what will happen in the future but I think by the end of the year bitcoin will perform well and its value will surely increase. Many people will try to purchase bitcoin for next year is a different chapter to bitcoin. We are nearing the next bitcoin halving and we should take advantage right now while the price of BTC is low.

Bitcoin price seem very stable to me for now so I'm still expecting some surge in price if not this December then it must be very earlier of coming year 2019,its still very hard to predict if we will see any improvement from ETF or Bakkt

More than a few technical analysts have been saying that the bottom hasn't been found this year yet.

Waiting for that bottom call to come in and buy more obv.

If it's a year wait, who cares, cheap gold is still gold.

The price of bitcoins is stabilizing. This means that the governments of the world might see bitcoin more closer to a legit global currency.

Why?

Because the government initially did not prefer bitcoins as they were highly volatile and if there are any crimes that take place like money laundering it would be very difficult for the government to trace them. Although both the problems are not solved one of them does seem to be. If the price stabilizes it is likely to attract more people to use them. So I guess that the verdict in December by the SEC will legitimize bitcoin at least in the US in case they rule in favor of cryptocurrencies.

No one knows yet, but I bet that it will soon go on to the moon and everyone will start to buy it again and people will FOMO for it and join the ride.

LOL it won't be stable for 20 years. If it's the internet of money, there is a lot of growth and wealth to be stored in this technology.

Even the SEC allowing hedge funds into bitcoin, that just means the holders with billions of dollars can make the volatility continue forever if they really want.

The graph will still go up over the long term.

Maybe the bitcoin price is still stable until the end of the year. And again it will rise next year. So the best we can do now is to take advantage of the cheap bitcoin price. Because of the huge profit we can receive when its price increases.

in about a year from now when you look at the chart you will see the same exact thing which is this current peak on the chart will be a part of the flat line like $1200 is currently a part of a flat line!!!

by then you will realize that bitcoin has always had this roller coaster thing where it unloads the weak hands and only keeps those who understand bitcoin. it is like a purge.

there is always struggle in any systems and there is always improvements to make it better. that will never stop or change for bitcoin or for any other system, company, product,...
as for bitcoin price it seems like the market is starting to get ready for the rise and with the positive news that keeps coming out we can expect the rise to start soon. but you shouldn't expect anything big at first. we will start by slow rises then follow it up with big jumps like last year and eventually we will end up with the same situation in a bigger bubble (possibly above $100k) and another drop and stable phase like this.

it always does. it also purge the shitcoins not just the people who invest on it. its almost like a pattern to follow but its very unpredictable. it could take 2 years before it will pump itself again so those who wait and can wait, sure they'd reap more but the game is waiting.

Hopefully the price of bitcoin will grow up soon. I also hope bitcoin can be accepted by the government all over the world. this would help bitcoin develop more and more in the future

  Many predictions spread along the forum and it is undoubtly visionize by the people. Somehow, some are spreading negative FUD that create people's determination into a non-reliable aspect with bitcoin. But in my state, I always do believe with the massive outcome of bitcoin by this year end 2018, it may not shown to break the RED line, it may be a surprising occurence.

If by milestone you mean another ATH or bull run, then probably not. It seems we're gonna be in a long period of bearish market, there's simply no cathalyst in the short-term that could trigger a btc rally, let alone a bull run. Not a bad thing though, we'll consolidate around the current prices, building a good floor before the next pump.

It's hard to say but, my take is that we're gonna keep going sideways until the bulls decide it's time to test 7k or 8k again.

the time for drop has been over for a couple of months now and as some of us already know the whale-accumulators have been filling their pockets with cheap bitcoin in the past couple of months while trying to keep the price low despite all the money that keeps on coming in bitcoin.

by the end of this year i think we can see at least one step higher price to go somewhere around $8kas the initial step for the 2019 rally.

I used to do the same, when i wake up in the morning i used to open the coinmarket cap and see what happen while i was sleep. Specially i used the check the price of bitcoin and ETH. But i am not doing that anymore because i know that price wouldn't change - / + more than %5.. The big raises and falls stayed in the past. I guess that the price for the bitcoin would be around $6600-$7000 at the end of this year.

It seems to me that in 2018 one should not expect any rapid growth. At best, we will reach the level of $ 8,000 for Bitcoin. And it seems to me that such a rapid growth as in 2017 will not be. Well, maybe this is for the better, because something that quickly grows and then just as quickly falls. I hope that the growth will be smoother, but by the end of 2019 we will reach the level of $ 20,000 per Bitcoin. The more stable the cost of Bitcoin, the more investors will seek to buy and hold it. This will be very positive for the entire crypto-market.

Not sure that we can make such conclusions based on the graph. This is a very illusive perspective, I am sure that the cost of Bitcoin will continue to be within the current position.

I believe that there is still a good thing to happen in btc before the year ends and that is the most awaited pump to ever hit in the crypto market. People are looking forward for this expected pump which it could change the actual market value of btc and people will be earning promising profit soon.

The OP is letting the charts to deceive him, in the far left we can see a very small movement in the price of bitcoin and yet at the time that was the greatest movement in the history of bitcoin, this should gave us an insight about what it's going to happen next, we're going to see a flat line for years and then suddenly out of nowhere the price is going to skyrocket and the previous bull market is going to seem small as that small movement in the market.

the truth is no one can accurately predict the outcome of bitcoin. People just assume but whatever happens to bitcoin this year ending, I believe it will be something positive. Bitcoin has seen worst days and now its time to bounce back..so lets hope for something great from bitcoin come end of 2018.

Can not predict or make any comments to predict what will happen in the future. The market is down, and the stock market reports are going down, and the Cryptocurrency goes down with it. Still, have to wait for new information to take place in the future.

Well it was hard to predict on what happen on this year of 2018 about some coins in the market, And so many people now are predicting about the prices of coins in the market if this gonna be rise or not. Must better to wait for now on what a good news coming from the people knows about the crypto. And hold for now our coins f the graph coins was down.

Now there is a sharp decline in the price of bitcoin. It was a sign of panic for many people. This year, bitcoin will not return to high prices. Perhaps easy growth nevertheless will be, but not strong. Most likely it will be next year.

Many people are looking forward to a green market later this year because many people are tired of bitcoin keeping the price long.

Bitcoin is not perfect yet-that's right. But it is also true that its development is progressing faster and faster. Yes there is a possibility this will happen, because the price of Bitcoin yesterday declined because it was not a Bitcoin community that dropped prices, but from the BCH to make the price of Bitcoin fall, let's look at Bitcoin at the end of the year, because I think prices will rise again.

Wow. This is good to take note of especially for Bitcoin users. Definitely it is not stable, however I believe in the near future many out there will be using Bitcoin no matter what situation Bitcoin faced because of the benefits that Bitcoin provide.

I also do not know why at the end of the year Bitcoin did not improve, and I have also predicted and hoped Bitcoin would rise like at the end of 2017, hopefully in December Bitcoin shot up.

Until the end of the year, it is likely that bitcoin will recover its price by at least 30%, but neither can it be guaranteed that it will recover, in the market nobody knows where bitcoin is pointing.

I don't think BTC price will ever be stable. If it's gona peak again this December, if it happens, it may not go beyond usd$10k mark.

But given its short history, still it's unpredictable. Unless one is going for long. Really Long.

 

      What will happen to Bitcoin on this last quarter of 2018? we've seen what is happening into the Crypto market, base on the posted chart which just a graph on the status as to the present market price value on Crypto and ALTCOIN as posted on the market, these didn't give the real situation on the trading market, it is with expert analysis that support such claim? i see this as typical graph market price nothing more than a non conclusive data? The market is very Volatile, all coin are fighting for their status in the crypto market, let's wait further, make a market review then maybe we can come with the possible Market Speculation for the future of Bitcoin in the market.

I believe strongly that bitcoin will win this game it's all about being patient for sure an end of the decline is close, no one can predict the price of bitcoin but one thing I know is that bitcoin will survive .

We don't know what will happen to bitcoin at the end of 2018, but we all want to see bitcoin recover to the higher price, and even the price can increase at $8000 for the first level of the price. But if the situation is like this, then we will be difficult to see the price increase higher, and we need to wait longer to see it increase. All we need to do is only patient, still trade if we see there is a chance to make a profit, watching the price move up and down in many times or we can do another thing that will not have any connection with cryptocurrency.

I think we are going to see more dip if not then a stable price but for surge high I don't think it will be that move this year again as every thing still point out to the dip mode and that says a lot to the next mode it could be , let just hope we see a better price though but am sure not that big one.

Thinking of what happen to bitcoin in this coming year end of 2018 i would rather say that there is a big hope because the year has not ended.

Maybe price will stay down and go up slowly even before the year ends. This will be unlike before that bullish on the market, we can see the fall and stable than volatility. It is difficult to see that it can recovery this year but hopefully for this incoming year, we could see the chance of recovery. We keep losing profitable times but keep calm and wait to see it gives good result.

I really think this has been a quiet year for bitcoin and other crypto coins. When facebook allowed ad about crypto currency, the prices were really sky rocketing until they decided to ban cryptocyrrency ads due to scams.

I think its price will stay at its average currently until someone or some group make a headline in the world that'll boost crypto awareness

Bitcoin this year end of 2018 will boom. Bitcoin Splendid! End of this year end 2018 will bring success in the crypto world.

At this moment, the hashrate fights are getting uglier but as the hardfork is over, I dont think its necessary to worry more. Hopefully, the miners will turn towards Bitcoin again and also investors may try to take advantage of the dumps.

This year ends about bitcoin is really hard to predict if what price it will headed. The price of bitcoin struggles so hard so I think their is difficulty to rise up this year ends. when viewed from the price of bitcoin in the past few months the chart is declining and prices are still unstable, the possibility of bitcoin prices at the end of this year is still declining and alarming.

The end of the year is getting closer and closer and bitcoin is not recovering, I thought that we will see a small recovery at the end of the year but this is getting more unlikely as time passes, so I really do not think that anything is going to happen with bitcoin, the price is going to remain between 6000 and 7000 and it is not going to move out of that range for months.

We don't know what is next happen to bitcoin. End of this year is near to happen and we will know what is the bottom price of the bitcoin before end of this year 2018. But I hope the price wil increase even slowly so we can get back our capital in a little bit.

Yeah. Who would've thought we'd break the previous bottom this late a time. Past few years had the last quarter performing quite well so it came as a surprise for me that we went below 5.8k. Though it's mid november and we still have a decent amount of time to recover.

The situation that happened at this time was indeed unexpected, because basically during the past month, bitcoin got quite a lot of positive sentiment. This is like a blow because the price decline is in such an extraordinary range. As you say, I also have a high sense of optimism, in the next year that Bitcoin has the opportunity to be at a much better level. Support from all of us will be very meaningful to advance the development of Bitcoin globally.

You're absolutely right in expecting prices to go down further in 2018.

Even though some so called "experts" (cough cough Tom Lee) is saying that prices will recover by the end of the year to above $10k, I don't think that this is likely at all. As we saw with the dump from $6k now to $5k where the support is still being tested, the prospects of any long term trend reversals in the next few months seems to be completely out of the question.

I fully expect more sideways movements, and occasional dips to test the support of $4k or even $3k potentially. But prices below that will see major buying resistance given that there's loads of people waiting to buy cheap coins at these levels, especially institutions, it seems. Bitcoin's adoption is nowhere near its peak in my opinion and regardless of what others say, it's definitely still only getting started. Long term investors shouldn't be fazed by this bear market, which is a common occurrence in all markets.

If you need for the price to go constantly up to have confidence in bitcoin then you are probably on the wrong market, you need to have confidence in bitcoin because it is a great technology that has the best developers working every day on it to make it better and it has a very solid community of people that are not going to let it fail, that is what should make you have confidence in bitcoin and not its price, it's volume, or its market cap.

It could be stable, fall, or rise. Anything could happen but they have different in chances. More likely fall and stable will happen. I doubt about rise since Bakkt delayed their launch and moved it to January next year. That was my last hope to have a rise in holiday season plus a pump by whales.
