Title: What do you do when price falls?
Post by: shield132 on November 27, 2018, 09:34:22 PM
As you see, bitcoin's price felt from 6500 to 3700. From the very first day, there was panic and fall was very intense. In situations like this one, how do you act? Do you sell bitcoins, wait a little for more fall and then buy more with same cash? Or so you fully support bitcoin and hold it?
I ask this because want to know what community here does in such situations, do you do good for bitcoin or worsen situation?

Honestly, it's way not an easy thing for me to acquired coins by purchasing it right directly from my fiat so all my hold coins will be remain idle for quiet some time. The current trend doesn't mean I have to changed my view about bitcoin. Just continue. And besides, I still have others alts to play wherein much needed a more attention.

Since already on - % , already faced the risks, already watched how drastically it decrease, there is no sense for me to exit now. If should, then I should do that from earlier. Hold till the end. That's how will I gambled it.

This is worth to put a shot.

Being panic sell when the price is down potentially will make the price worse. When the price is down we should realize that those all are the characteristic and principle of crypto currency, the price is volatile. It is suggested for the bitcoin or crypto currency users to stay calm and hold all to support and increase the price again. Panic sell is a good opportunity for manipulators to control the market and they will take much advantages from the situation.

Well, for me, once people start to panic I don't mind selling my bitcoin even the price is cheap so before it goes to the deep price I sold my bitcoin while crashing.

I don't need to think twice because it already breaks the 6k resistance. So if I continue to hold I'm sure that I'll regret later that is why I sold it first before the price fell below $5500 which I think the right decision.

Look at the price right now it's around $3,800 so, I think this is the right time to convert it back to bitcoin.

I did nothing whether bitcoin fell that much. I fully support bitcoin and that's why I remained silent and hold it. I believe on it with long term so I won't move large amounts of my total asset with it, I don't mind selling if there's a need but its applicable only with dust amounts.

Those people that I've talked to before about bitcoin which I'm forced to share bitcoin with them because they forced me to tell them what bitcoin is, are now making fun of me. This is also happening to others but I'm just ignoring them.

When price falls I will just hold and wait for the market to pump. Panic selling would make the price get worst.

waiting for the price to rise again, still the hodl doesn't cut loss. while waiting for that, I searched for some airdrop which could be used as passive income while the market was falling like this.

I'm not panicking whenever there is fall. If ever I sell at fall, it's because I badly need a cash and not because of panic. Holding was the best thing to do at this moment. Others complain about their losses but they are the one committing the mistake. Even if they know, they should hold, they aren't doing it. Later, they are blaming the coin for their losses.

like now. all I do is hold it, and wait for the price to rise again. I have committed, from the tokens that I have, of course one of them will definitely have a good price, so I would rather wait for the pump to occur and carry out activities in the real world

I see this an opportunity to buy more bitcoins with the same money we used to get little of it before, this also can increase the recovery rate of the price falls when we do it as community. The other option is as everyone says just hold and wait for your time to come to make profits.

All the bitcointalk members know about Bitcoin right now which is very worrying, I myself take a positive positive side to bitcoin, the point is buying as much as possible when it's cheap can be said long-term investment, I'm sure the chances are bitcoin will rise like the year2017 ago.

Yes in this kind of situation its already too late to sell, the right time to sell was when the price is still around 6k and thats before many stop loss are triggered.
Now it seems that the support is become stronger and many people see this price as an interesting price to jump in for buyback. Also the volume has increased.

When the price falls I gues this is the best chance for investors to buy for more on potential coins. There are lots of coins that have good potential but it is hard to buy due to high value already. In this situation that the market is red and the price of almost all coins are very low this is the right time to invest.

People wait for the fall so that they can start buyng rather than buying at higher value it is an open invitation to start buying at lower price. Also if people had started to bought at 3500$ in last couple of days today it is already reached 4k. So in Nov itself you have gained 500$ per btc .

right, if we know the lowest and highest prices, of course we will get the maximum profit. and with high fluctuations, it should not be a burden, but an opportunity to make a profit

At a time like this when price goes down below expectations what I normally do is to take a walk looking away from the price chart and coming back after a long time, because panic selling can only lead to your losing your investment. I know after the deep it going to take some time before the market will recover and you only lose your assets only when you sale at below the price you bought due to panic.

You seem to have ignored the golden rule of "not letting your emotions control your decisions."
Before you buy Bitcoin or invest in anything, you must have a clear definition of when you will enter the market and when you leave.
Leaving it to your feelings to start buying and selling according to market volatility is the ideal behavior of loss.
Dependence on numbers may avoid losses but will not achieve maximum profit.

All I do is ignore everyone and rely on my assessment of the situation.

The best thing that you can do is you should not panic even the price falls. Panicking can lead you to lose all of your money because you cannot make wise decisions. You should have calm mind to wait the right time to sell or to buy coins.

I do simply holding when i come to know that the market is going to down or market fall starts i just simply watch the market and when ever if there is a chance of buying more then i do buy more bitcoin and some potential altcoins but i have never done any decision is quick time i first make a mind set for the new change and outcomes and then i go for that.

We are witnessing falling price now and what I do is to avoid trading and holds those coins I bought above the current price.  If you sell during falling price you will blame yourself in future as bitcoin and cryptocurrencies market will definitely going to recover.

No, this isn't what I mean. You know when price falls, people start panic and increase/speed up this fall, when you see price falls, you have opportunities: Sell bitcoin immediately, wait a little bit to let it fall much and then buy. This way you own more bitcoins but is this right if we support bitcoin? This way, you speed up process and join panic people but benefit at the same time while bitcoin falls and gets "damaged" if we can call it so.

When the price fell, I calmly watched what was happening, because I understand that price cuts are a temporary phenomenon, without which the market cannot exist.

In a situation where prices are dropping like this, of course, selling bitcoin is not a good action, the price of bitcoin has gone down so far that if you sell it, you will experience a huge loss. In a situation like this when the price has gone down far it would be better to buy and hold it until the price rises. This will be more profitable than having to sell when prices are like this.

I am more interested in the fact that sales are made on the crypto-currency market in large volumes, then immediately pay off, and then sold again. I'm not inclined to panic.

Each person in this situation acts in his own way.
If you are an active trader and not an investor - of course you will sell at such a decrease and use stop-loss. Well, if you are an investor, then as a rule your bitcoins are not stored on the exchange and it makes no sense to sell each time the price changes.
My action during such dumps is selling, but as they say, it is not always profitable because they can just knock out stop losses and go up again. This requires is the computer and watch but this does not always have the time. Therefore, at least we should try to get out of altcoins in bitcoin and wait for growth.

I'm just going to accept the fact that I lose my investment and will just accept that I lose in my investment to avoid further damage. But it doesn't mean that I won't get recover since there's a lot of alt coins in the market that the price is volatile and will take advantage to the ups and downs of the market (Day trading)

But maybe you should just observe the market and do your shot. You can also follow some great traders and ask tips from them.

It is true, it is difficult not to panic sometimes, however one should not let emotions get in the way of logic and reasoning. If everyone acts the same way and sell, the price would only fall and fall. The fundamentals of Bitcoins economics remain the same and does not change with sentiment.

one of the major fundamentals governing bitcoin is its volatility and to survive one has to be knowledgeable about the market speculation, taking a good advantage of the fall in price to buy more and sale some when the price rises up to your expectation this is my take.

Due to the situation is so complicated it is not easy to find the right direction. But we all knew the price could not always move up and we also know that price will not always move down. In my opinion waiting and increasing the number of Bitcoins in our portfolio will save the feeling of regret in the future. Perhaps we will never see the Bitcoin as low as it is now.

Well, it is good to take a survey and know if the population here too are contributing to the dip or helping in salvaging the situation. I for one will be buying more at this dip and hodling what I have still till I deem it sellable; like when bitcoin reaches 10,000$ again.

The only thing I don't do is sell the coins when the price drops and reaches it minimum point (unless I am in dire need of fiat). It actually makes no sense at all to sell at the minimum point. You will just end up losing most of your money. When the price drops, just keep in mind that you have the same amount of coins and the price will eventually rise back. Think of the price drop as an opportunity to buy more coins to maximize your profit.

To sell can be a good idea, as it will guarantee you a chance to buy more BTCs later for a cheaper price, but at this time I chose to just hold and wait. Meanwhile we can observe the market closely, trying to predict the right time the scenario will change and the price will start rising solid again. When this happens it's the propitious time to buy more coins, as we will definitely help to pump Bitcoin's price on the Crypto market.

All i do when the price of bitcoin or other cryptocurrency are falling, i always wait and hold my coin until the price all of it will start to increase because it will be my big loss if i sell my holdings in a very low price, that is why patience is the key.

Well, i don’t want to incur more losses by selling bitcoin so technically I will just hold until the market back to a bull ran. I support bitcoin, and I know this is just an extraordinary trend panicking is not good right now.

Since its too risky to trade right now, I look for other opportunities to earn cryptocurrency or even in fiat money because people say, its better to have more source of income than to depend to only one. Know more other markets, and make a good run on that better not to look in cryptomarket for now because of its bloody trend, try to look in a stock market now and do make money there.

I've been holding cryptocurrencies for several years and I only sell them when I really need fiat money. (unfortunately I had to sell recently, because my old laptop broke down and I had to buy a new one). I do not care about price drops, because I believe in this technology and that sooner or later there will be next ATH.

If the price has gone down too deep it will be better if we wait for the price to rise, because if we sell now it is likely we will get a huge loss. so we must remain calm and wait for improved market conditions.

actually in a falling market condition, I honestly did nothing, just saw and also saw to what extent the market potential would fall, whether it would quickly rise again or it would continue to fall. That's what I thought, it's also because the good news in a market like this can't reverse the price to rise again

I ask this because want to know what community here does in such situations, do you do good for bitcoin or worsen situation?

actually in a falling market condition, I honestly did nothing, just saw and also saw to what extent the market potential would fall, whether it would quickly rise again or it would continue to fall. That's what I thought, it's also because the good news in a market like this can't reverse the price to rise again
Looks like the current situation will last until next year, because the decline in bitcoin prices in this month is really very drastic compared to 1-2 months ago.

I mostly hold my Bitcoins regardless of the price, sometimes I sell a bit just to pay for monthly subscriptions. These continuous dips, decline,,loss (or whatever you want to call it) doesn't stop me from using Bitcoin because I always make sure to hold amounts that i'm comfortable losing with. Maybe if I have a plan to buy something using crypto I might stop holding and sell it but as of now i'm happy to hold wherever the price goes.

I do holding and patiently waiting for the comeback of rincreasing price, simce price fallimgnis happening now, I think we should be lot of patience because possible it take longer time before it will rise again. All we need to do is to keep believing and holding our coin because my prediction this about crypto will be good and I think the bullrin will be happen soon.

Yesterday,i saw bitcoin price drop more and it's really a grea opportunity to buy but i regret because i have no money to buy more and now bitcoin price starting to climb back again.
That's a missed opportunity mate, also a risky one as we really can't trace correctly what would be the dip, if you trust the chain buying more when the value drops will be much profitable for both long and short term goals, but still taking the actions or any movements also accompanied by risk you should always be ready handling it correctly so you won't regret if what will happen next.

I would like to say that I take very complex measures to protect myself and my money but the truth is that in my experience every time I try to do something I make things worse for me so some time ago I decided that I will just hold my coins, it is hard and not very exciting but doing nothing has been one of the best things that I have done so I can protect the value of my investment.

That depends at the time, if the price is going to fall much and I don’t want to lose that much at the time of it falling, I will just withdraw the funds I have in wallet and exchange it to fiat. But if it’s at a time I’m ready to lose, then I would hold the assets no matter, cause I’m sure it’s going to be temporary and after a while it will go up again. At times when I withdraw my funds, I wait for the market to drop a price I know would likely be the bottom price and then I’d purchases from then.

I use to hold and support bitcoin whenever there is any fluctuation in crypto market. If I have some spare money at that time I use to buy more. I can hold BTC for as time it want. In such situations I use to enjoy reading posts from people. It is natural behaviour that whenever there is any loss you becomes panic.

You need to do what it is best for you, there are some that need to sell their coins regardless of the price since they have stuff to pay and they depend on their bitcoin earnings to do that, but if you do not have any need to sell your coins and you believe in the future of bitcoin and you do not get nervous despite the crashes then your best option is probably to hold your coins.

Every fall is a opportunity for us to buy good quality coins at lower price but those opportunity sometimes need to consider our resources as not all the time we had extra to fill our bags. If I have enough I will buy more and more to take advantage as this technology will bounce back at the right time. Indeed this still the best investment if you want to go in long term plan.

I tried to wait until the situation got much better. Even when the price of Bitcoin has decreased, I try to buy Bitcoin, I have the opportunity to be able to buy Bitcoin at a cheap price. If a bad situation occurs then think positively. When the price of Bitcoin decreases, think positively that this is our chance to be able to buy Bitcoin at a cheap price. Let's think carefully and we will make the future a lot better. Believe that when we trust Bitcoin there will always be a miracle. Even significant price increases are not impossible.

The most important thing is that when prices decline, never experience panic, because panic will only make the situation worse.
This is an opportunity and remember that we must be part of a success.

Holding the coins is still the best strategy if you still want to recover your loss and selling your coin will only contribute to the price decline. The whole market is in a state of long downtrend but I believe it will not last and will bounce back in due time. Low price will make cryptocurrencies attractive again to the investors so it means price declines will give us the chance to buy coins at affordable price before it go up again.

I have a philosophy of life a bit sociopathic, do not do what everyone does, at this moment a lot of people sell in panic sell, I diversify the investments and I leave for a long period, and the price of HOLD!
I think that sometimes that could work and it is good to be contrarian, but in most times you should not go against the trend. There is huge difference between good timing and bad timing for contrarians.

Holding on a cold wallet is the best strategy. Just ride the rocky road and wait for your profits to grow.
Maximizing profits by selling and buying adds risks, many trading sites have gone bust. So I would only do that with a small selection of coins.

I am personally, I hold it back, and I collect everything, I will not sell it, I do not care what they say, I am sure the previous year also experienced what it is today, but a few years later it will definitely rise again.
No need to panic, but panic if you have already sold it.

That is something that many simply do not see, it is true that when the price goes down we lose money but lower prices also give to us the opportunity to buy coins for a very cheap price, if you really believe that the market of cryptocurrencies is going to change the world then investing in this moment can be the best thing that you can do for your future finances.

We just need to use of basic fundamental of the crypto market. And that's is buy the coins at a lower price and sell them at a higher price. So we have to buy the coins at the moment because it is cheaper and has to hold it a long time until the complete market is going to recover itself. And after that, we can sell our coins at a higher price and make a profit from it.

I have one game plan when the market situation worsen which is to cash out. I only HODL my bitcoins when the market is bullish not bearish. I don't like the idea of HODLing while the price is falling, I just can't HODL my bitcoins while I'm losing money.

There are many people who are just saying that they will buy at low prices because it is a good investment, maybe so that they can post something here. Trader sees the good opportunity at low prices so they invest at this time and when the price bounce back (which will happen) they are the ones who gains the most profit. Bouncing back of price is not always eventually right after any dump, just like this time, the price continues to fall and only have small movements. Crypto-investing just like other investments need time so give it some more.

I actually didn't know what to do for a long time. Back when price went low in 2014 I was a bit shocked and I wasn't prepared and I had a decent chunk of bitcoin that worth even more right now but when it dropped I didn't actually saw bitcoin as an investment to be honest with you, I saw it like an experiment at the time and I wasn't aware of dropping and bear market and all that so I wasn't really keeping up with what the meta was for those times.

In 2017 my most amazing choice was cashing out as much as I want (still keeping a bit in crypto) because price went mad, so you do not do something when the price falls, you prepare for a fall when the price is high. In order for the price to fall, there needs to be an up first, prepare for the fall when you are high and you won't get hurt that much.

waiting for the price to rise again, still the hodl doesn't cut loss. while waiting for that, I searched for some airdrop which could be used as passive income while the market was falling like this.
Doing holding while you do not cut your losses will help you to regain all your losses from falling price. Indeed, you can't call airdrop as a passive income because it takes time to wait to receive the token and sometime the token is not yet listed in exchange. I think try to look for more passive income but I think airdrop is not belong to passive income.

In this time, it will beneficial for everyone to set a stop loss so that potential losses and damages may be controlled. It was really intense how bitcoin dive into the $3000ish range in just a couple of months after being hailed as one of the alpha coins with so much growth and stood out at $19000 last quarter of 2017. It is just so nerve wrecking for investors that now bitcoin is at a very low value. What we can do in this is to just pick up where we landed. make the most of the coins that we have and be wise in selling and buying coins.

Title: Re: What do you do when price falls?

Stop loss is definitely the wisest thing anyone can do. Plus, having a buy order ready afterwards could be really beneficial as well. Lets say having a stop loss of $3900 while having a buy order at 4300 would be ideal. The price has been going down to 3600 and less for a while and it keeps going up to $4200 all the time, this means if it drops to $3900 right now than the price could drop as much as $3600 which you can sell at $3900 and rebuy at $3600 later.

Plus if it goes above $4200 to $4300 that means we might be on a bull trend and price could go who knows where and that is why its above the trend. If you set your buy and sell orders at levels that you think are according to the trend of what happened in the past 2 months than it is less risky. Of course, there are still chances you fail and lose but at least this makes it less riskier.

When there is continuous loss in price I'll try to sell and buy it back at a lower price. Here the risk is high, because the nature of cryptocurrency is unexpected growth. When we have sold to buy at lower price the price pumps. When this happens automatically the user will face a loss. This will not affect the large volume holders, but for small scale holders it is a loss. So, always the best choice is to hold without moving over here and there.

When the price falls, just simply accumulate as much as you can and wait for the bounce back of the market then sell. That is what traders do if they see an opportunity they grab it. They don't just buy something that is out from the trash they buy something that has a worth while holding it for a couple of months or years.

But for that you need to be confident in your abilities as a trader and for that you need to have accumulated profits over the years which allow you to take those kind of risky decisions but such a tactic is something many cannot do because they lack the confidence, skill and patience to pull off something like that and they need to find some other strategy that gives them those profits.

when the price falls I can only expect prices to recover and try to find out the cause of falling prices, I am very difficult to determine the lowest price, so I don't buy when the price falls.
Its what most of us expect when prices are going down, to recover one day. Main thing is to not panic in this times, and if you have some money to buy more. Diversifying is a good thing, I do that with my investments, but when prices are going down I don`t sell for any other coin, run away in this times are stable coins. Stable coins are safe haven in times of falls and like that I keep my money and I buy again when price goes down more.

Ok so there are two important things here for me.

First one is that the OP reminds you that the sudden crash is finished. As it said it went from 6500 to 3700 and now it stopped moving. We're at 3580 right now and it has nearly no variation. So current price is rather stable at the moment at least.

Second one is: where are we in the BTC cycle?  Well we're a year and a half from the next halving... And price is stable? Doesn't it look like all the previous cycles? With a tremendeous rise waiting for us?
Halving means less inflation, less inflation means more stable price. So... Just wait. Next halving can't come without a huge rise.

It's accumulation phase baby  :-*

Trading requires calm, without calm, then we will suffer losses.

Exactly that, buying when price is going down and watching closely that to be on bottom. Touching the bottom is buying periodically, buy some and watch what will happen, if price stops and change direction you will have some profit, if price continue to surge down  again waiting for a good chance to buy when price stops is what we should do. It's trading, you need to have some kind of support if you wish to be profitable in the long run.

Its like being in a war where if you feel like loosing, retreat for a second, take a rest then resume to war. Its okay to fall back sometimes that die without fighting. As the market decreases, I let my coins rest for a while and wait for green. Selling wont give me profits  but holding gave me hope.

Some of the people will start to sell their cryptocurrencies whenever they are seeing price fall and some people will continue to hold until what prices there afford to lose but in my opinion both these actions are wrong if someone trusting the bitcoin then they need to invest and long time don't just change your mind time to time based on the market condition.

That hope makes me more confident about the market and even if the price is falling, I’m just doing the same thing which is to buy and hold. If you see the price of a great coin is falling, you can wait for the bottom and grab the opportunity to accumulate and hold more good coins.

What a wise man, it is such a good idea cause we don't need to show that we are strong and can fight.
We are in crypto space and we face the risk everyday, selling is not a smart thinking but of losing the opportunity to gain more. But somehow, we could also sacrifice our coins specially when we saw there is no market improvement, might be a good way of selling it and invest into the other.

I prefer to wait for the settled dust before deciding which side of bull, bear is stronger. Pure price action without indicators can help to determine the trend for both short and long term trading. Buying more while price continues declining can be useful in order to accumulate more profit and quantity also increases with less risk.

When an asset has taken bearish directions the best thing to do is to flip that asset with a more stable asset and in the case of bitcoin it is more wiser to flip it to coins like usdt or usd and gpb for those exchange that allowed that.  However this strategies is hard to follow as the market is highly unpredictable and it takes experience and professionality for you to be able to actually make money from it as about 95% of traders lose money in this market. Bitcoin falls because the supplies are higher than the demands and it is wise for you to understand the underlying factors why bitcoin is bearish.

Title: Re: What do you do when price falls?

Most of the initial reactions is to hold their coins until a favorable market condition return. I also prefer to hold some of my bitcoins or convert it to usdt for future trades. Experienced traders knew how to win trades even during bearish market because not all coins decline when bitcoin is in downtrend. So if you are getting bored while waiting for another bullrun which might still happen a few years from now, better learn to trade and get an experience on it.

I can consider myself as still new in crypto though it is more than a year already when i got introduced to crypto.  I have seen the rise and fall of BTC last 2017 and 2018 respectively.  But still i am not good in trading.

What i have done is i still hold my BTC in the hope that the BTC will get back to its tract. I dont know until when will I hold this but there is no plan to buy more yet.  But of course, we have to apply still the principle of buy low and sell high if you have a budget.

First and most important is not to panic. In every scenario price drop then after some time recovers, sometimes even more then expected. Many highly experience traders often sell in first drop and buy on some 4-5 drop again and wait for recovery of price.

Absolutely! Volatility should not always be viewed as disadvantageous because there's an opportunity that lies in it. It is a normal reaction to feel worried whenever price falls, but taking a look at situations with optimism and hope it can greatly help us be guided as to what actions to take whenever crisis arise. Price correction can be an advantage to buy at cheaper price and sell high when market recovers. Be aware, stay patient and be on the look out for what the oppurtunities behind in every situation that seem to be unexpected because that's where we grow and become more productive.

When bitcoin dumps, expect a short pump and by this you can at least make a small profit. But usually I buy coins when its price dumps and hold at least a month so I can see major changes on its price or if there is none, I have to cut losses or to take a small profit.

If you are a long term investor, the most likely is to hodl your coins till another bullrun come. If you are holding a coin that are already proven to grow in long term like bitcoin and ethereum, then it will be worth waiting for. If you are a trader, you are likely to buy and sell coins even during bearish market because not all coins are going down.

When the price is falling it is very good to hold the coins in the market, so market fluctuation is common and sudden drops are common. So it is very good to hold the coins for a certain period of time, if the price kept falling below then we have to buy more coins in order to average our previous prices.

In times like this the best decision that I can do for my holdings are to hold until the prices recover. The high volatility of the market is quite normal thus there's no special thing to do especially if you're planning to hodl for long period.

I just buy if I have extra capital to have additional coins for my crypto-portfolio then monitor the market once in a while.

I will search for the opportunity to buy the coin at a low price, and I am sure that I can found many profitable coins. But I don't buy too many coins since I don't know which one that will be the first coin to increase later. But I will buy the top 10 coins list because I believe that if the price falls, that coins can increase in anytime so I won't miss the chance to buy the coin. Besides that, if I cannot find a good time to buy, I only stay calm while watching the price on the market.

On the off chance that you are a day trader, obviously you will move at such a reduction and use stop-misfortune. Indeed, in the event that you are a speculator, at that point when in doubt your bitcoins are not put away on the trade and it looks bad to move each time the value changes.

My activity amid such dumps is moving, yet as is commonly said, it isn't constantly gainful in light of the fact that they can simply thump out stop misfortunes and go up once more. In this manner, in any event we should endeavor to escape altcoins in bitcoin and hang tight for development.

Better to fully support to the bitcoin because that is way to pump the value of the bitcoin price in the future. Like today even the price is not still increase very high but atleast there is some improvement and I think it will comtinue the price to rise.

But we cannot force people if they really still hold coin or they buy because that is their money it's them for them if the buy or not or they will hold it or not.

First, remain calm despite the significant decrease in price. I typically invest the money that I am willing to lose and regardless of what the result may be I will hold my bitcoins until they achieve my long-term goal. I only invest 10% of my income to cryptocurrencies and diversify by acquiring different coins (ETH, Litecoin, and XRP) to minimize my losses.

When the price falls, I still able to hold my bitcoin because I still want to be accumulated and save it for future purposes. Sometimes I buy some of it. If I need it, I automatically sell it even if it dips as long as I need it or emergency purposes. So it also depends on my situations.

Before you invest, know what your goal is. If you determine that by purchasing bitcoin at a specific price, your goal must be at least to accumulate profit depending on your target margin. If price falls unexpectedly, holding may be the better decision instead of panic-selling/liquidating most of your bitcoins. Again, only invest the money that you are willing to lose.

Yes, you can if you invested like a month ago while it is very cheap, at that moment you can grab the opportunity and buy as much as you can while it is cheap. And now, the market having spike price that's the time you've earned money as well.
As far as I know, also traders stop on trading during the market's down.

Just stay calm and HODL. Panic selling is just gonna make the price go worse and make you regret when the bull run comes. So everytime a bear run comes, I closely follow the price fluctuations and keep myself motivated. If during the run I've got some extra savings, I generally buy more coins at the price point I feel is the lowest bitcoin's gonna go, all based on intuition.

Usually whenever long falls happen?I tend to stop my activities in crypto and just focus on holding and joining some bounty, from this i will prevent my self from losing more this is why important to us being cryptonians to have life aside from this profiteering.because of volatility we can’t have assurance of continues growth.and besides crypto is designed for future and today we still have things to face before the great changes happen in our life.we have ro fed our family ,we hve to bring our children’s to school so make living outside crypto and just use this for extra sources of generating income

The first step I do is do not panic, then make an analysis based on possible prices for the next one or two months based on reasonable parameters. After successfully concluded then the action, whether it is HODL or selling.
Because price is the key to bitcoin trading and investment, then when prices fall, rumors will emerge that are not conducive to bitcoin trading. There are speculators who play so that prices continue to fall, with great strength these speculators will buy to raise prices, so that they will benefit.

Not all can do what you are saying because not all have a cash to buy cryptos even in dip  . few users are only working here in the forum to earn but i agree on your second suggestion   .  we only do hodling when the price fall but its hard to witness that some users will still insist to sell their coins because they badly need cash  . they dont have a choice anyway than to sell or to hunger them self and their family which was also depending on thier income .

it looks like I will trade in the long run, because we will also make a profit and also will not lose my altcoin with prices going up.

It gives us a ample opportunity when the price falls and help us to buy more of it as rather than buying in the bull market it is much better buying at bear market and at lower price. So all the billionaire use this principle which has helped them in the long run.

In the position of low bitcoin prices obviously need speculation to get the greatest possible profit, namely buying. Because the price of bitcoin is definitely going up. This is very different when the price of bitcoin is very expensive, no one dares to buy because it requires very large capital.
Without the courage to have bitcoin as much as possible it is impossible to get a big profit, because it is an opportunity for capital owners to buy when prices are falling.

Agreed, more billionaires have come into existence just through this simple principle. Here one who predict that the market is gonna turn bearish. This isn't possible with the entire traders, upon which majority of the users experience loss while very few succeed profiting big.

If I bought my bitcoin in a higher price, I surely not sell it even if bitcoin hits the ground. Nobody wants to lose and I for sure don't wanna lose too. Yes it is a good opportunity to buy when the price is cheap for those who believe that the price is going to rise up soon but it simply depend on your financial situation.

Basically, i hold on to my cryptocurrencies even how ugly my portfolio looks like. That's how cryptocurrencies are - they can double or triple your ROI and will also go the other way as its market value shrink so hard. I am still thinking positive that the bull market is going to happen again soon.

same as I did. when the price of bitcoin, or altcoin goes down, I might still hold the assets that I have and still think positively. when the bitcoin price dropped yesterday, well, I still held assets in my wallet, and waited for a high price. I am sure, high prices will emerge this year. maybe we just need to get ready for the bull run.

Wait, am I thinking for a moment?
Oh, there's nothing to do when bitcoin (BTC) is down, only arises in the mind of buying and buying for futures.
Something that is done with confidence is sure to succeed, just as investing in Bitcoin at a time like this.
I give an example:
I thought that the price of Bitcoin in 2008 and Bitcoin in 2017, you must be sorry in your mind when there was no deposit of Bitcoin in 2008. To be sold in 2017,
you can imagine if you buy Bitcoin now and wait for prices to rise like 2017, what you do, the answer is in yourself.

At the time of price falling, I buy more and more coin. Because it is the best opportunity to buy more price with low price. It is the basic rules of crypto currency that after bear market, it will start bull run. I buy more and hold it for hitting big amount.

Form something that can be seen and read, most important is to if you are able off course to buy when price is low. How with this low price there is question when is price low, at the moment will it be after one week or month. That is something else, but every time is good for it. For the moment we could say price is low and with extra cash you can now days buy anywhere some coins. So best options is to buy, but then comes the hard part of being patient cuz most of us will sell on first site of good price.

When the price is falling i kept holding the coin for some more days because instead of selling them for loos it is good to hold them until the market starts recovering. Already you can see how the price of every coin decreased a lot in the market which helps to grab as many coins as possible and start holding them until the market starts recovering.

Selling bitcoin during the downward trend is always bad for the market as it is going to push it down more.  The market will do seriously very well if we have decided to keep holding during a downward trend and that is how to help bitcoin during those times.

Try not to panic. Good concept is to buy cheap and sell high but when price start to fall down then major issues comes with how to control yourself and not sell cuz waiting here bring results.
Keeping cool head is good option here but eventually we crack under pressure.

When the price falls I will only hold it by being willing to wait longer and that depends on how I started the previous investment. If previously I had made a high investment according to my version, then I would not buy more when the price continued to fall, but when before I only made a medium investment then I would usually buy again when the price fell deeper. Turn back to each other's views, because each coin has a different potential for a pump in a short time.

we have done it as you say overall. because this becomes a decision every speculation even though sometimes it is very detrimental.
it's very difficult because this is a dilemma, even I have an altcoin that is really useless for now even though the project gets fantastic value on the sale of ico.
and I still hold it because the price is not worth selling.

Go look at the chart and I always check the resistance level and support level. Buy figuring out the chart pattern, I tend to decide wether to buy more or sell to stop further loss. This is quite a difficult decision but helpful to minimize the risk of loss.

what to do when crypto falls? this past day there is a rise and fall from the price of cryptocurrencies and the market just sharply fell. Go for the highest peak and have the dumping for your gain, So patience is the good thing when dump comes and learn to wait for the good opportunity. Timing is everything! and that is the good strategy.

Important is to follow some rules and guides that you as individual will create for yourself. Dont spend all day looking at chart for some coin or coins that is first step. Next if you see that something is falling bitcoin for example in price dont try to sell or to searching for another coin that it might be good solution and that coin maybe is up in price, cuz many times that coins will just momentary drop down. If you lose, lose less in bitcoin. Be smart and try if necessary to ask some advice and then invest. We can talk on this for ages, but most important is to set some guide that will help you investing.

I just stay cool, and I think everybody should stay calm. But unfortunately most of people's become panic and they start sell. In a result price start drop more and more. That's what somehow we are also responsible indirectly for drop price. I just think always about my btc amount, I never worry about usd price. Because I trust on bitcoin and obviously it will repeat old history. So someday my fund also will be recovered on usd price as well.

Nobody has any control on the price of bitcoin thus whenever there is a fall in the price the only available option is to hodl having known unpredictable nature of the price.
I am quite optimistic and having assurance that bitcoin is a long term project thus there is the tendency that the price will pump in the future having considered its high volatility rate as a yardstick for a high price.

It's a situational market condition and we don't need to be worried cause price fluctuations arise everytime unexpectedly but somehow some people will be losing their patient in holding and the sad thing is that they'll be selling their coins in cheap price.  This is not really good but we don't have such control to stop them or they have the reason also for that suicidal action.

When the price goes down, I have two possibilities, to see how much volume went up or down during the fall, how much went down in percentage, according to this, I decide if I should bet or buy cheap.

If I analyze that the short graphs are open, it is very likely that I enter with a leverage of 2x or maybe 3x, this is because if you keep going down it is possible to obtain gains following the direction of the movement. Now if the movement is a correction, what I do is buy altcoins and bitcoin, to wait for recovery, this in order to make profits in the short or medium term, these movements are made from the point of view of market speculator. According to Jesse Livermore, buying when Strong Hands do their shopping, is the best thing to do and, above all, know how to identify that movement in the market to wait for the bullish.

I see there are two core aspects of the rise of Bitcoin today
1. for those who trade with short-term ups and downs is an opportunity to make a profit
and 2. for those who invest long-term they will hold it continuously, going up and down is not a shocking thing after holding for so long starting 2017 until now because of their patience and mentality they are strong enough to reach the tarjet price because I know they are very optimistic

It's hard to disagree with your opinion, but the aspects you described are mainly due to the fact that the crypto market is getting better - investors and traders are starting to think more and more positively. Let's hope that it will last as long as possible.

Well, that's the words that we here all the time, never panic and hold.
This is not hard to do actually if you trust the market and crypto in general, price fall is just normal, it's part of the market.
Recovery after a big dump is a healthy movement, it will only make the market more stronger.

As a crypto investor, of course, you must be prepared for all risks, because the price is fluctuating. When the price goes down the mind has to be rilex and emotions are controlled so don't be tempted to sell because it's afraid the loss will increase, but must be sure that crypto will rise again.
Confidence and optimism can resolve concerns about losses that might be experienced, because logic sided with the fact that digital currencies will definitely become a necessity in the future.

When the price of bitcoin goes down, you need to be sure that prices will increase again and keep the spirit of investment because of future profits. A few months ago the price of bitcoin was USD 3,700 and investors who were optimistic about the increase would soon come to buy.
Apparently the trust is correct and today the price of bitcoin has reached USD 6,510. The increase is predicted to continue, because demand for bitcoin continues to increase.
So, don't be afraid when the price falls and don't sell it in panic. Must remain confident that the price of bitcoin will rise. Patience certainly gives positive results.

The OP is from November last year.
But I would like to explain his query and i know this gonna help many more members of the forum here.
So first of all,  the things that you need to do is not to be panic.
If you have invested some amount in crypto then it's equally possible to get losses or to get profits.
Just wait when the price falls and hit your luck at the perfect time to overcome your loss.
