Hey everyone,
for all crypto traders , what do you think we need most in a crypto exchange ! right now there are thousands of them but how can you choose which one you trade on ? and what existing exchanges lack of ?

No need to look further, we have big exchanges with high liquidity so no need to look for more. I personally use binance, bittrex and hitbtc.

I list some though these are common things that we should look up to.

• Privacy
• Security
• Liquidity
• 24/7 support
• Instant deposit and withdrawal

Yeah binance bittrex hitbtc that's (3) three exchange is the most popular as of now and I included poloniex is also one of the most oldest trusted exchange with low transaction fees with strong private keys for the security of the users i am not promoting poloniex or any exchange but base on my own experience i give my own best for those people want to know is the best all about in trading.

How can you measure this criteria , how can you be sure of their privacy and their security as all exchanges promise that then they get hacked !!
Also,what about other features you are looking for that if implemented you would consider using in a new exchange ?

but for all the exchanges it is very strong to hack into security. but it can be hacked and it depends on the person using it if I think. because all of that can be cracked depending on how we use it ourselves

The bolded option seems to be a rare find in exchanges nowadays. Yes, they may have customer support service but most of them take days or even weeks to respond in an urgent query. Some may have live chat available, but pre-generated text is what greets me most of the time whenever I have something to ask. I am yet to find and exchange with an exceptional customer service that really replies within the day and actually resolves my problem on their platform whenever I need it.

After the main things already written are met, some nice additions can be low fees, margin trading, lending and, why not, web wallets and debit cards.
Audit for the funds / cold wallets is another interesting thing. Maybe insurance too.

What we need when it comes to crypto exchanges is a good Decentralized Exchange (DEX).

All the large centralized exchanges suffer from similar problems, even if they may have good liquidity. So, the crypto space urgently needs some good DEXs. The logic is simple: Decentralized currencies <--> Decentralized Exchanges.

are many questions and the answer is almost the same, I will speak from my point of view:

- The exchange should not have an anonymous owner

- The exchange must have physical office

- The exchange must have at least some phone number in case some customer has a serious problem, the exchange solves the problem of their customers by talking to them on the phone

I would add regulation, if an exchange is regulated, inspected periodically by the government, then another good point that we can consider to use this exchange

yea,i was looking for someone to talk about the integration of blockchain technology in the crypto exchange as it's the essence of them ! so aside from liquity what are u looking for in a decentralized exchange giving their limitation when it comes to trading ?

They are a lot of things I need in an exchange, but what I need the most is security. We have again and again of how funds are being stolen from exchange which don't just affect the owners of this exchange but also the users. I think exchange owners should pay developers whose work is just to make sure that there is no hack in the system, and if possible try to call a client because processing any transaction of huge amount.

Exchangers with good liquidations and as well with, good coin that has good volume I believe binance is there for everyone who is into trading and binance can even be handled by an newbies.

This is a good outline of what and Exchanger really need to acquire and also the trading fees and withdraw fees should not be higher.

Security is definitely the most important factor or if money is stolen, it would be fair to refund it from their frozen balance.
Secondly, it may be decentralization. So managing our exchange wallet with private key is fair. Exchange is like a prison, ''restrictive''.

indeed there are so many exchanges nowadays, and I prefer to exchange large volumes, and I really like investing in ethereum.

My ideal exchange has the following features:

Multiple security options like 2FA available to combat hackers, block new IPs from logging in, etc. Plenty of sites email me when a login's been detected from a new IP, but a number of the ones I am registered on don't actually require you to authorize the login through a link on the email.

Must have a physical location. Most but not all exchanges that don't have physical locations are scams, especially newer ones.

Liquidity

Good support for whenever things go wrong like deposits, trades, etc.

Reasonable withdrawal fees and trading fees. I typically don't do lots of small withdrawals from exchanges so fees aren't usually a problem for me, but the fees add up over time. Some sites also have pretty high trade fees, which most people don't initially notice when signing up for an exchange.

Lack of employees especially the global exchanges.

I understand that global exchanges does support several countries so responding to concerns might take time. But at some of the cases, especially the major ones, it takes several days or weeks and some of the reasons are; investigating and checking. Isn't it mandatory that if a company will set up a global exchange and quiet reached the status of being one of the reputable exchange, there should be an upgrade of supporting staff.

Here in our local exchange, the famous and most used in our country, support will respond in less than 24 hours. The support volume is way lower of course compare to global exchanges but their employees are not that much but still can handle it (I think around 500 reports per day based on my known person who works there). I know global exchanges can do this too since they are committed globally.

Each of us has its own criteria for choosing an exchange. If I want to exchange some little-known token obtained in the bounty,I go to a decentralized exchange.If I have a huge balance sheet,most likely I will choose a huge exchange and a trading pair with a turnover of several tens of millions of dollars a day. There is not enough exchange in the Fiat necessary for my country.

For privacy it is logical to use decentralized exchanges than blindly believing to big centralized exchanges.
Security is still main issue and i am really scared after the leak of data that contains hashed emails,passwords,secret questions on coinmama.
Liquidity will increase after bear market.
Support is necessary and big exchanges should implement the system for emergency cases.
I prefer to wait for 3 days if theme is about crypto to fiat transactions.

Im looking for exchanges site who are have support daily and the security is very secure and the features will be updated everymonth and the withdrawals is instant and the deposited is only takes only 1 confirmation to use it and also the withdrawa fees and I think if that cryptocurrency exchanges site have that for surr most trader will be register and trade to them and Binance is the most perfect example for that who are the most trusted and popular exchanges site in crypto community.

Trustworthy, events and of course low transaction fee.
I want my coins in and out. I want freedom just so I could comfortable and not think of an exchange just going down because of a bad reason.

Mostly they are getting bankrupt or they are just pure evil.
I dont feel safe in any exchange and that is why it will be better if the fees are so low. It will also be better for them since they are getting money for doing nothing.

now I prefer to exchange large volumes and I will invest in ethereum and bitcoin because now the price is starting to increase, so I really can get a better profit too

Of course the no. 1 needed is the security, just like 2FA(Factor authentication) no delay for transaction whether deposit or withdrawal for their client users. Then their support must alert at all time, in short they shouldn't take too long before giving a response to their customers, also accurate liquidity.

Due to the fact that each cryptocurrency exchange platform has it's own set of shortcomings. The best we can actually do is to determine the flaws we can live with and those that simply won't work for us. When attempting to trade, the first and key thing I look out for is the security of the exchange platform. I go with platforms that give me peace of mind as I can't afford to loose my funds. Other factors besides security which I look out for include; privacy, liquidity, support, fees charged for trading and withdrawal. My advice is to always go with the most popular platforms if you do not intend to do a thorough research.

I think the most important thing in the exchange market is speed. When traders do buy and sell, the system should never slow down the other issue is the deposit and withdrawal of money. The system should not wait while you deposit or withdraw money. Some stock exchanges are really awful about it. I Never and never use the exchanges that offer slow transfer and withdrawal.

For me, the most important thing is that the exchange has a good level of quality, I usually will trade in an exchange that has a good security reputation. This is because our assets will be much more guaranteed. At this time there are so many events about hacking exchange, this is what makes me feel that security is the main factor that determines us in choosing an exchange for trading.

if you are conscious about your security then you must not store your assets on an online exchange for a longer time because that is always risky even if you say that an exchange is popular or trusted enough  . not only on online exchanges but also on online wallets as well . just put only the asset that you will trade immediately   . that is what im doing and i never been experience to get hack until now .

in my case , security is not my first priority but what im always looking for to an online exchange is their coin listing . i notice that im having a hard time to find my coins because almost all of them are not interested listing my coin .

I need only one thing-my private keys. ;D
All the other stuff,like liquidity,low transaction fees,good customer support,etc. are important as well,but you know the saying."If you don't own the private keys,you don't own the coins." ;D

It must be robust and secure. Security is the most important thing which many exchanges lack of and hence get hacked.
People loose their money due to this and I think this must be the most important thing any exchange should strive for.
Also, a variety of pairs, easy deposit/withdrawals, 2FA/OTP needed on withdrawals are some things that I like in an exchange.

Confirmations does not matter in withdrawals and deposits from exchanges. It is better to have 3 confirmations before actually deposits / withdrawal happens so that there can be no cheating. For me, the exchange should be user friendly and should have all the features like stop loss etc. 
In many small exchanges, I do not trade because there is no option for stop loss to be used.

High level of security is the most important thing because many centralized has been hack, and second one is they should be have insurance to avoid member lossing money incase the exchange get hack or others bad issue. Crypto exchange also should be have fully regulation to avoid ban from the goverment. Alot of centralized exchange been operated but less decentralized exchange, even though alot of trader want to use decentralized exchange because we have the private key so that mean we have full control with our funds.

some of the natural things I want and I expect on an exchange are:
1. security guarantee
2. Low withdrawal fees
3. 24-hour admin service

so security is a big factor , but how can you determine if an exchange is fully secure or not !! and would u prefer semi-secure centralized exchange with lots of features or fully secure decentralized one with few features ?!

I am sure the cryptocurrency exchange will give the best service for the members. I only want to trade in anytime I want, and I don't have to get trouble while in trading.

For all reason why we want 2fa, high level of security, email protection, etc, I think that is the main things of exchange should have, and I am sure that they can do that without any problem.

I choose the exchange based on my feeling, if I can get comfortable to trade in that site, I will continue to use them, but if it's not, then I will search the other. I make it simple for me because I don't want to feel difficult to choose which exchange I can trade.

Right now, I still feel comfortable to trade in Binance, Bittrex, Poloniex, Yobit and sometimes in HitBTC.

Some exchange has a problem with the support system which served the members when they got trouble with deposit, withdraw or even pending transaction. And if I get trouble with that exchange, I will move all of my coins to another exchange, and I will not use them anymore.

The most important thing for me is the security and credibility of the trading floor owner. In the past, there were too many fraudulent exchanges, they slashed their own trading floors and occupied all the investors' money there. it was worse.
Besides, security is very important. I often want to hold my altcoin on the trading platform so that I can trade easily when the price is up or down.
but now only Binance makes me satisfied. but the transaction fee is quite high.

i believe that multi-sig wallets will do the trick for you . right ?

Poloniex Era is already over since Circle bought them.I cant really deny about Poloniex service wayback before knowing that this is one of the most popular
but they do dropped down because of such changes.

Back on topic, Security is on of the most important thing for me,next is the transparency,next is the UI, support thing, fast withdrawals and fast response into their support.

Who doesn't like low fees. It is the number one thing i consider before create an account then, followed by security and decentralization. Exchanges have to be decentralized to be patronized by  me considering the number of hacks some have gone through  this year. Too risky to leave  funds on  them these days.

Honestly, volume is king in any exchange whatsoever. If the exchange has a decent volume that is not wash trading or fake volume then I am in.

I used to use cryptsy before they got "hacked" and left, then I started using poloniex because that was honestly the best place after cryptsy was gone and they had multiple coins and decent volume at the time, then bittrex came out and they were the best so I started using them and then binance is now the king in volume and everyone is using them so we are making a decent trading there. So, wherever gets more famous and gets all the volume I will be using that website.

Most of the people use binance and bittrex  for short or long time trade because it's fully secured, huge volume,24/7 support, and Instant deposit and withdrawal. You can find many exchangers but i am using this exchanger last 2 years and hope you will be satisfied for using this exchanger and also suggest this exchanger. Most of the people faced problem for delay deposit and withdrawal and low volume and support system are very poor but bittrex and binance and also kucoin is the best exchanger for me.

Security is the first thing we have to consider in Cryptocurrency exchange. As the startup companies of the exchange industry in cryptocurrency started/initiated the instant deposit and withdrawal, I think it is doing well in the present.

Supports are also the one thing to consider, questions and complain, improvements and technical support is really needed for people to enjoy the market better. There is a lot of people from the traditional stock exchange who are interested in joining our industry but the matter that hinders them is the confusions. Compared to us, much of them aren't really understanding the exchange and wanted to ask from the
specialist but since cryptocurrency industry doesn't have 24/7 support, that makes them say no.

Security is much preferred, however we keep it secure there were hacks around. Few of which were the recent hacks that took place with the centralized exchanges. Same time there are account frozen in the decentralized exchanges. Both has got complications. When luck stands as an opponent to us fighting hard it is impossible to avoid losses. This is common even with exchanges, gambling, trading and even on holding.

I think what is needed for crypto exchanges is security. Because security is the main thing that is needed, it is useful to keep assets from being lost and avoid hacking. In addition, 24/7 support and privacy are also the most needed things. 24/7 support helps if there are problems in trade and privacy I'm sure many people choose to keep their privacy safer. Besides that, it depends on each person who uses it.

Privacy and security is the most crucial thing in any exchanges then optimisation and trading benefits is plus.those exchange which give minimum regulations and restrictions and provide better service will be more often used.if you take the example of binance they have taken all the users requirements and competed with major exchange to become major exchange.

To this list I would just add low taxes for exchanging, deposited and withdrawing. That's also important term for every user. Honestly, I check the price for taxes at first, before to register on an exchanger. Luckily this info is available on almost every exchanger without registration.

I need exchange that give insurance for fund of all user, because many times already crypto exchange get hacked , and the last case is Cryptopia. But Cryptopia did not have good support and the platform did not online for more than 2 week. All trader and investor want to have full of security and insurance for their money in that platform.

That's a good requirement but I believe security and 24/7 service centre should also be the most important as of the volume in the Exhcange that can be looked up on. We won't like to hook up in missing our funds.

the desire that I really support and actually everyone also wants it, besides security I also want that an exchanger can provide insurance on the assets we have when our assets are lost due to something like hacking or so on.

Your number two is quiet welcoming but when it's in the aspects of when market is bad won't it affect their fee in transaction because I think this can hook up in the network and keeping you in pending.

actually mostly exchange nowadays had the same strategy with some classified exchange site around the internet  just to convince more traders as well.

So if you see this stuff on some exchange site don't easily fall on it. ( Privacy./ Security./ Liquidity ) Which is seek for specific information first including the ratings itself. Because that's  the only way to determine easily the good exchange site .  Or  choose those provably fair and the most popular exchange IMO to prevent such issues.

Stop loss. Most of cryptocurrency exchange doesn't have it. Thus, more traders are losing too much when big whales dumped the market. In choosing which exchanger to use, since most of them have same features, I choose the one which doesn't lagging.

Security to our funds and high trading volume is the thing most important when picking up a platform for trading and other features like much trading pairs,decentralized platform may increase the priority but for now most exchange will have BTC,ETH and a stable coin for trading pairs.

In addition to the previously mentioned security and easy deposit and withdrawal transactions, of course, Exchange that doesn't use BOT is a good criterion and good choice for traders. Considering the existence of BOT is very annoying I guess.

for me most exchanges have occupied what I need. but if I can fulfill it I need a notification when there will be a coin or token that will do a scam.

It's hard to response the queries within a day when there are numerous users.  
Even the top listed exchanges can't respond timely because they have to process bulk of requests regularly.

24/7 support(query response) will be great if any exchange implement it in future but it's not necessary if the exchange is trusted, secure and have high liquidity.

I do prefer transparent , security and decentraliziation.  If and exchange can be Build on the foregoing I think I will seriously like it.  The security of the exchange platforms is very important and we can see how much has been lose through hack on exchange in the past because of lack of security.

If you want to transact in let's say Mexico Pesos, then you are limited by a much smaller subset of exchanges that can be used. While most of the major FIAT currencies are supported, there is a huge demographic that most crypto exchanges haven't supported yet.

I recommend the top 5 Top Exchanges, but you must make sure that at least you have the opportunity to trade in Margin Trade, and that you have the option of placing yourself in a Stop Loss and Take Profit position at the same time, I think that only Bitfinex is the one who owns it, the only thing is that they ask you to enter 10k, either USD or the equivalent in cryptocurrencies, otherwise, you decide which Exchange is best suited to the type of trading you want to do.

Money matters, it's our hard earned money so what we wants is the security inside the exchange where we will be exchanging and do our trades,
with continuous updates and progress regarding to security exchange might be appealing to me, together with customer assistance if centralized
exchange.

well, security is the most important thing from an exchanger. we know there are so many types of exchangers nowadays, but some don't have a pretty good security system. besides, we also need real trading activities, this makes an exchanger avoid the fake volume.

I am always having secondary thoughts about sudden change of terms so that I might need to clear KYC with my exchange. I mean I just want assurance that I never need to have any KYC clearance as long as I am dealing only with cryptos and not fiats. I'm not sure that any exchange is providing such guarantee that they will never look for KYC when we will trade only cryptos without touching fiats parts.

Other than this I am always want stable and highly secured exchanges from hacking attempts but that will not be possible for any business because they are also not aware of how strong the hackers will come against them.

You always risky if you keeping funds in your account. You can simply be blocked by service, so you will fight with the exchange. Now I use exchangers without registration, for example, ChangeNOW, which looks good at the moment. Their support also inspires confidence, addressed them several tickets, they solved the issues quickly. But, of course, everyone should choose what is better for him.

- Security and safety for users is really the first factor we need in a good exchange but it is still not enough to convince us to care and participate regularly in an exchange, besides safety and security, support from the exchange management team, analytical tools and trading volumes on exchanges is also a very important part. almost all exchanges of course need kyc for its users, this is sometimes an obstacle for some traders who have just visited the crypto exchange for the first time because they need confirmation that must be approved. however, the exchange that requires Kyc certainly has security and comfort for all its users.

maybe the most important thing that all exchanges must have is that it can make it easier for users to make deposits and withdrawals instantly and ease the burden of costs

I saw many promising exchanges in current market If you have any clarification you may create a thread surely everyone resolve your issues. But most of the exchanges are huge transaction fees in withdrawal so peoples are not like the some exchanges so we must choose our desire exchanges in crypto trading.

What I hate to experience on a trading exchange is getting approval of our withdrawal,so I definitely need instant withdrawal in an exchange upto certain limit.

With centralized exchange, you need to process KYC if you will going to exceed with their allocated amount for withdrawal, it's been a rule to avoid
money laundering and exchange needs to comply with that, if you don't want to do the process alternative like DEX can be used for making huge
trades without the interfering  of any approvals or delayed.

But for certain limit like one bitcoin per day will need no approval just pay the fee and initiate the transaction will make the trading platforms as much better place.

With P2P system on some exchanges, I now enjoy it a lot. Instant withdrawal issue now matters quite less. High fees also bothers me a lot, for a very few amount, I had to pay a loads of fees.

I guess Hitbtc used to have quite high fees,though not sure about current situation.
I suppose that there are more features which could be added to a Great exchange,like Forex and CFD brokers have.

In centralized exhchange which is also a big issue,but normally I trade decent amount so there is no need of withdrawal fee.

What I have noticed the most is the security feature, because when we want to trade comfortably, security is something that must be taken into account. If an exchange does not have a good level of security, it will make us problematic in the assets we have.

I think that is the level of security and credibility of the exchange. I have the habit of putting coins on the trading floor so that transactions become quicker and easier. but recently some exchanges have encountered many security issues and it has collapsed because hackers hacked into the system. Investors lost all their coins and had no refund.
In order to become a large trading platform, a large volume is not enough, it needs a great level of security.

For me, I need the speedy transfer of the floor system and the purchasing power of a trading floor.
Big exchanges with high purchasing power and liquidity are safe. I love it. Besides, I need the system of trading floors to have fast blocks processing speed so that I can trade quickly.

Of course security and a risk free investment is what every businessman would love to have. Unfortunately we do not have so many exchanges that can give the investor what he/she wants from it. In addition, I think that we are fortunate enough to have some good exchanges which are the top exchanges like Coinbase etc and we can make use of those exchanges to make things happen.

Until now they do still have the same withdrawal fees which making a micro transaction with that exchange will not really be ideal at all.Talking about Forex and CFD brokers feature I guess it
wont really be necessary but when we do mention about technical things I guess it is already being included or can be seen on current exchangers as of todays.

Every exchange already has a good system in my opinion, but only in the complaints service that is still not good at every exchange, I know they have and select each of their workers in order to give a good response, but the lack of workers or complaints that pile up causes Complaint service is very long to respond, this will make users continue to worry because the complaint is not responded quickly.

Security should be your main concern and for me, if they have 24/7 support service then that can be a good sign of a good exchange. Yes, a lot of exchanges today with different functions and most of them is just a copy paste of other exchanges. Its ok to use more exchanges as long as you are not storing money on those exchanges, you can trade but never to hold on that.

Why to even mention security, that`s always important. If you wish to trade anywhere you check for daily volume, you can`t trade on place where people aren`t buying or selling. So you need active exchanges with many active people, the more the better. Except that trading fees, and withdrawing fees are important if you trade with small amounts. I always like to see some nice promotions, so if exchange have that, like some have, that can draw my attention. I just listed you what is most important for one exchange to have, without that they are empty and they are doomed to fail.

I think the most important thing was contact between the changes and the seller of any currencies because not surface changes not responsible for the changes in many times that's why people will not trust while using changes and answer security be important here to trust them.

It's awful to trade on unknown nor unreliable exchange since the mere fact that we might get bad returns for trading at them we cannot also know that we are trading at the right platform since we cannot make sure that they are safe. So security and volume of traders is very important upon selecting a exchange to trade on.

Security is very important on an exchange customers fund and data's safety has to be secured. A responsive support that helps every customers problems and issues anytime, some exchange is very poor on this matter. Exchange transparency, if there is transparency customer will put their trust on the exchange. I usually use a top 10 exchange which has good reputation and have small withdrawal fees.

It’s not only bitnex mate, we have quite a number of exchanges that has these facility in place, bitfinex is also good but I recommend binance. They give opportunity to trade in margin and give you an option of placing stop and loss.

The most important thing is for the user of any particular exchange to understand the terrain, check for pros and cons before using an exchange as most of them tells you they offer this service and you get to know they don’t once you register with them or put in your money for trading.

To be honest, I do not really choose the Cryptocurrency exchanges that I trade on, I just go wherever the coin I want to buy or sell is trading, but one thing I always consider in an exchange is the fees, I love exchanges with low withdrawal fees.

I need an exchange that has Stop loss tool for traders and exchanges that offers mobile application for IOS and Android. I presently trade on bittrex and their services so far has been awesome as they have most of these facilities still I look for an environment similar to metatrader 4.

I have been using them for a while now and I find it so easy to cryptocurrency while on the move irrespective of my location provided  have strong network connection. They also have quite number of coins that I need for trading.

I want to have crypto exchange just like Metatrader platform that available alot of tool of trading. Also the highest of security and they can offer guarantee safety for fund of all user.

Thats right, bugs and other transaction problems can occur in an exchange, all I want is to have livechat with customer support or at least give a quick answer, yeah customer support should always be online and fast response, it will be very helpful

The most important thing we should look in a certain exchanges is the security of our wallets and funds. That is why we should read their feedback's and once we found it good and reliable, then why not to choice? Fees also considerable but I'll just ignore it if it won't have a huge effect into my gains. Cause we can't escaped from that as it is necessary to pay to have a successful transactions.

Other Cryptocurrency exchanges is just like a frame that a possibility to gain some profits to investors and want to those people trade up on their platform but we have no choice if they do that. It's up to those people which exchange they want to pick.

I look out for cryptocurrency exchanges that has a very user friendly interface .

Binance has this function even huobi  and stex exchange.
I hated cryptobia exchange then when I joined cryptocurrency.... trading on the exchange is a Herculean task.

The fact is that many users of cryptocurrency are still waiting for a decentralized exchange, which will work for the benefit of users of cryptocurrency, and not other government structures. I want to believe that the anonymity of the investor, as well as traders will be the main ones in this area. But today the situation has changed a lot.

I am sure the best exchanges do have features more advanced then you ask.These are common feature a new exchange would try to have. I do expect that volume should be high to the respective coin i trade with. This would support me for day trading to get in and out often to  see more profits.
