Over the years, there have been some significant increase in the number of cryptocurrencies, out of which only few survived. Cowry (COW) is a next-generation, hybrid cryptocurrency based on Proof of Stake (POS) mining and Masternodes. It is a fork of the open-source project of PIVX. COW aims to become a quintessential cryptocurrency. It combines the pre-existing core features of other cryptocurrencies and refines them to produce a single currency capable to function with their strengths but without their deficiencies.Through inventing COWRY, we initiated a cryptocurrency that would allow for safe and secure storage of COWRY in a cryptographic, digital wallet. Besides, we have developed a fiscal pattern that would generate income for COWRY holders, while utilizing COW for the security of the COWRY blockchain. COW has the ability to provide near-instant payments through SwiftTX. This allows COWRY holders the ability to transfer COWRY within seconds across a global network of Masternodes. One of our foremost goals is to create and promote a gambling platform with COWRY as its primary currency. COWRY will also partner with already established or new gambling platforms with aim of integrating it into their platforms. We will focus on the gambling market in Africa, where most of gambling transaction still go through the banking system. For COWRY to be mass adopted, we shall work with licensed betting Platforms in this jurisdiction, this will allow us use their Platforms for advertising and promoting it. Although, our focus is the adoption on COWRY in the gambling industry, we shall not restrict its use in it alone. The contribution of COW to the cryptocurrency revolution is to usher in user-friendly devices to facilitate mass adoption. We will do this through a combination of first-of-its-kind partnerships and unique business models. It is our future goal to sustain the position of COW as a medium of exchange, unit of account and most importantly a store of value, therefore meeting the characteristics of money. Upon the success of other cryptocurrrency projects, many projects began to clone them. Some of these clones promise to solve some of the world’s problems. However, many of them failed or ended up being total scams, which subsequently creates doubts about the mass adoption of cryptocurrency as a means of payment. Some were even promising huge ROI, thereby creating hyperinflation and a subsequently sharp drop in price. Besides, some of the projects never had actual plans or how to achieve them. You are right that many coins spring up everyday and it is hard to know the projects that will last. But you have to note that you cannot know if something is going to fail or succeed if you do not start. Even if we say that we are a perfect project. people will still doubt and it doesn't even immune us from issues. If you could remember when ETH planned a fork earlier in the year but was later postponed due to issues on the blockchain? No project is immune from problems. We know that even some genuine projects have reduced or lost some of their devs due to lack of funds. In this crypto-sphere anything can happen to a project. The only thing is that, you should do your own diligence as the cryptocurrency market is very volatile. Some people will tell you good things about some projects while some people will be saying negative things at the same time. This is because they entered the projects at different time and any increase in price is a gain for the new investor while it is investment recovery to old investors.There are many risk involved in crypto and I can tell you that I am invested in some other projects too. We did not create Cowry because we felt we could make quick money, rather we felt we could build something we will be proud of and eventually a means of income. There are been some talks about wallet hacks. We are not sure if they are true or rumours. However, we would advise all Cowry holders to encrypt their wallets and not to download anything from websites they do not trust. No Cowry wallet has been affected, but we are monitoring the situation. So we are currently using personal funds to support the project and that is why things seems to be slow. We believe that over time the project will be good for everyone involved. I decided to let everyone know what is happening with this project. I entered the cryptocurrency market some years back and invested in some coins that I felt had future. Thereafter, I entered the Proof of Stake (POS) coins, but I lost a lot of money to most of those projects so I got fed and wanted to take over a project called TDC at the time because I felt a cryptocurrency project could survive without ending up being a scam. Before, I had wanted to start my own mid-range betting Platform and thought adding a cryptocurrency to it would be quite cool as I have seen similar projects. I am not a coin developer so I started looking for people who I could involve in the project. And I was able to convince three more people to join me to develop this idea; they all promised to give all their support and most importantly their financial support which was very important for the survival of the project. As the team leader, I decided to contact a coin developer in March 2019 and told him what we wanted; everything was set for the development of the project. I contacted the other team members for their own financial contribution towards the project but I was told that I should not worry that I will get the support as soon as they see the project develop to some extent. So I used my personal funds to pay the developers for the development of the coin and the websites. I did not the expected result so I had to contact another developer who worked on the already developed coin. When the wallet was ready, I thought I could raise funds through pre-sale but nobody was buying Cowry; there were many scam projects so people were afraid to invest in another “scam” coin. So, I contacted my other team members again that it was time they supported with funds to develop the project because nobody was buying Cowry. That was when one person, stopped responding to my calls or messages, I was left with two, but they did not offer any financial support. The pre-sale was suspended because it was not successful. But because I believed in this project, I decided to continue with it. I contacted both Graviex and Crex24 for listing the coin, Graviex replied within two days, but Graviex was the first option but it took them a while to respond. People were already saying some negative things about the project on this discord, that they were indeed correct about this project that it was a scam all along. Graviex’s listing was 0.3 BTC at the time, but I did not have all the funds but there was someone who liked the project and believed it could survive and loaned the project 0.1 BTC. The Graviex listing was paid, my hope then was that if everything succeeded the project would be able to pay back the loan in no time. But there were other issues, nobody was still buying Cowry. So I felt if the project had a working product, people might be interested in the project. So I set out to get the betting Platform ahead of time. Now, the project is listed on an exchange and has a working product. I paid for listing on some masternode monitoring services. But it still needed funds for marketing, listing on masternode hosting/sharing Platforms and listing on www.masternodes.online and www.crex24.com. I contacted the remaining team members for their financial support but got nothing. I thought at the time that I could do everything without the support of these people but at the same time thought that it would be bad publicity for the project if I was the only person left on the project even if I was the only person financially supporting it. I observed that only Nastygal was keen on the project and was offering some form of support and I felt she could remain with the project. I was really disturbed as the blockchain had many issues between March and May 2019, at a time the project’s website, blockchain and explorer went offline. I was on my way to Africa to do some marketing for the project when all these issues were happening and but I was able to resolve the ASAP and we have not had major issues with the wallet and explorer since May 2019. Some people would think that I am happy with the slow pace of things on this project, but I am not. I have tried to support the project to this level. I do not have funds coming from cryptocurrency anymore as I have sold most of my coins just to support this project. The project’s problems have been compounded with the rise in the price of Bitcoin, listing on www.masternodes.online which would have cost us less than $1,000 in April 2019 is now $2,500, while listing on www.crex24.com would have cost less than $2,500 in April 2019 is now around $6,000. Even when www.crex24.com offered us a discount to pay 0.3 BTC (about $3,500 at the time) which expired on 31st August 2019, the project could not take advantage of it because there was no money. The only issue facing the project is the lack of funds to promote it. I have been contacted by many people who told me we should do one thing or another. I will be happy to do these things but I am financially constrained. And I would not beg people for money. I understand that we do not have a strong community. Building a community also requires funds; nobody wants to do anything for free in this crypto space. Most of the people who were with us earlier left the project immediately the airdrops and bounties ended because they were not really interested in the development of this project. The project currently has a reserve of about 55,000 coins, which at the current market price is less than 0.15 BTC. The person who loaned us 0.1 BTC is expecting to be paid back his Bitcoin paid back by the 31st December 2019, and I believe the person has been patient enough. So where do we go from here? Many people do not know that the project will improve more than what it is now and I would need the support and patience of everyone. I cannot do all the things people suggest to us immediately. The project needs funds. And anybody that invests in this project should not look at the short term. I will continue to be here. I did not leave the project when things were very difficult and I am not going to leave now because I know that it is one of the most undervalued cryptocurrencies out there. I have been sustaining the betting Platform with $200 monthly and this means it has been running at a loss since April 2019 because we do not have enough people using it. But to make people use the platform, we need to do marketing and promotions and these would require funds too. To improve on the project, we would like to offer 30,000 coins @ 0.000035 = 1,05 BTC.
