How long does Ico last?

Actually there is no limit on how many months an ICO lasts, it's all depends on them how long they were going to run their sales but mostly ico ends within 3 to 5 months.

Ico last on the stated date of the project doing the ico, I think the problem your friend has about the project is that he don't read the rules well before joining the campaign and it T/C. Although some projects do extend their ico but not as long as you think, possibly the project is dead tell your friend to go get another one doing.

I understand your sentiment especially from the viewpoint of someone participating in its promotion and even from the viewpoint of someone who bought some tokens or coins from the project. Eight months can indeed be a long time for a project in the ICO sphere though this is not abnormal with projects not connected with cryptocurrency or blockchain as projects can really take time to take off and there had been ones that took years before finally flying into the industry they are in.  Unfortunately, we don't have the power to demand as it all boils down to the team behind the project to decide when they will end their crowdfunding phase.

I participated in the bounty of this project in social networks, but I stopped working for them, since such a long bounty does not suit me. The fact that the team does not respond is very bad for their reputation.

Back then, investors would even ask for extensions from ICO team. Today, you never really know when it ends. And that there are only 2 possible things why they keep on extending ICO, one is that the funds they raise is still not enough to support the project. Other terms is not reaching the softcap. The other reason they keep on extending is that they are scammers just fooling it's investors and a possible scam exit once they had enough or are finally found out.

Of course ICO can't last forever , but it can take a very long time (a year or even more) until the project collects the amount of money they need or decides to abandon this venture and cancel the fundraising. Nowadays, waiting for half a year before the end of ico is completely normal, so be patient and hope you don’t have to wait until the end of ico for a whole year

I'm sorry for your friend. Unfortunately, the market conditions are forced to extend ICO teams to the process. 8 months are too long. And in the end, it's possible that its not successful. I hope you can get results in the fastest time.

Yes sometimes it takes a year in order to finish an ICO, not the same as before wherein ICO's are just in a two months period that they are already established. I hope soon ICO's should be responsible enough to speed up their process.

If the ICO has no time to end, I think that ICO is dead and they cannot continue with that project. I have seen many such projects in the past time, they cannot achieve softcap or hardcap to finish ICO

Icos vary indifferently; some icos last for just a day
Some icos reach softcap and hardcap in just 7 days

Where as some icos last 3 months and end up not reaching softcap

I previously joined a bounty that last 6-8 weeks if I'm not mistaken and ended in August. It's one of the successful projects this year, but it took the project 8 months to paid us. Nevertheless, I didn't mind because it reaches almost 100% (hard cap) so I don't have doubts about this project.

But if the project didn't even get to it's softcap then expect a bit longer specially that we're in the bear market as well.

Try to write to bounty Manager and ask to fix your bets, he should help you. After fixing the bets you will be able to find another bounty company.

As a matter of fact, in ICO they have different stages or phase in token sale where every phase have different price and discount. Some ICO are now extending their token sale due to not reach the soft cap or due to the down market which lead to a low funds.

Actually, ICO does not have a precise given time. Some are good and has 4 month duration.  Some even extend the dates when they hadn't reached hard cap. But most ICO has a range of 1month to 3 months usually.
Some are good but could not reach their hard cap and therefore. Call it quit.most people don't want to register with the long term ICO.

2018 was not a good year for some ICO or should i say most of the ICO.

2 to 3 months is the longest I have seen. When they want extensions mostly it just takes another 2 weeks for it to be completed. Some of them just one to hit that soft cap just so they could continue with their project.

Next time do a lot of research and do not let them be the one who do commands. If you are a client or investor it will be best for them to answer you clearly with the right links to where they at by now.

The longer the ICO project lasts, the less belief that it will end safely. These are difficult times for the crypto market and many good projects take a long time to get the necessary amount of investment, but they continue to work on their project and publish news on developments.

The  very good and hot ICO projects can get over in days or even minutes. The bad ones can linger on for many months and still not raise the minimum soft cap needed.

If you are a bounty hunter, better to look its cover period before participating cause it is usually stated by BM in the OP. If you don't see anything or just like TBA (to be announce), then its up to you to participate with them or else skip that campaign  and look for another. indeed that is the fact that happened at the ICO at this time their duration is uncertain and they like to extend the duration of the ICO at will without giving clarity to the participants and their supporters. this all happened on the grounds that the market conditions were not yet stable, but I think they should be professionals with the courage to hold an ICO, they should have a way to deal with such matters so as not to disappoint investors and their supporters.

And about How long does Ico last? I think normal ICO include private sale+ Main sale on average 3 months and maximum of 6 months, over 6 Months, thats suspicious

Yes, every activity has been scheduled in the roadmap of the Ico project. Sometimes the schedule runs smoothly, applies to projects that are really good and potential. the opposite happens if the project is not strong enough so that it does not attract the market, eventually the scheduled activities do not go according to the roadmap, which is why many Ico are extended.

Since the bearish market started almost all ICO's extend their token sale due to the small amount of contribution and as most of the bounty campaign rules wherein it is stated that "Bounty campaign will last until ICO ends or all token was sold".

And most of the time, they don't follow their roadmap.
If the project is weak and have hard time collecting funds, the usual scenario is extend their coin sale hoping that they will achieve their soft cap.

I personally followed several projects which in my opinion were very long. but if it reaches 8 months. in my opinion it is bad. because if ICO fails, your friend has wasted 8 months without results.

you are right, if their success was certainly the obvious like sales, and product development just wait for release may just be a matter of time not to be a consideration. that into consideration is the issue of the progress of the market. Unfortunately if there is no clarity, a long work like your words will be wasted.

to predict how long that ico will survive, I think everyone can't guess. because we can't know all those movements. so we certainly can't predict everything. so for now we live it all first.

it all depends on the project team and the manager who is responsible for the ICO in the plan that has been made, the limit is of course there if when ico has reached the target when pre-selling their tokens, if this is experienced by your friend you cannot deny again that the project that was followed was abandoned by his team or scam.

well most ICOs set dates for when they will end but in some cases, they are not really concern about the set date. What they are concerned about is whether soft cap or hard cap was achieved or not. Some projects end their ICOs when they achieve soft cap, others end when hard cap is obtained. If this is not achieved, the ICO continues till they achieve soft cap or hard cap.

I believe that the time it would last is totally dependent on what the team as said, some ICO lasted for just a day, others a month and we even have some that last up to a year before the ICO is being concluded. I think we should not be worried about how long but how well.

They cannot start ICO in this market, if their projects are serious they will delay and wait for better market to be able to start ICO and develop their projects.

I think you are really looking for the time of the listing.
There is a roadmap and it is recorded there when the listing will be.

You dont really care about the ICO or the product that will be for the project but just when you could sell all that you have made from the stakes that was provided.
Usually it takes a year or two before the project becomes fruitful and that is when you will see the value of the token getting large. That is if you can survive all the dumps that will happen.

ICOs typically last for a hundred days or more, this does not include the pre-ico phase, only the main sale. The distribution of tokens to investors and bounty participanst also take a long time since the team needs to audit the funds. This basically means that bounties would last longer since it always start the moment a project gets announced.

8 months is just too much even if the project is good I don't know how you can keep up on that, this is one reason why you should check how long the campaign will be and can you leave and keep your stakes, and if you find something is not right then leave the campaign or get sorry in the end.

We cant actually say when especially if that certain project isn't working yet. It happens sometimes that they'll extending their ICO due to the amount they collected which aren't enough to start their project.
It really feels bad, and nothing to do but to sacrifice until it end.  The worst thing is that,  if they cancelled the ICO and not even give payment to the participants.

But there are also some ICO that take more than that.

Well ICO will extend due to many reasons like cannot even reach their soft cap and in worse case the ICO might be a scam. So do not be surprise that an ICO last for a long time. However i does not think that an ICO will last forever even if scam they will not want to do that they will scam as much as possible and move on with a new scam.

I think the answer for the question on when will ICO last, that would be when there is any better replacement for the ICO system. Something that is more effective and safer than the current ICO system.

ICO sometimes doesn't go according to plan. And when raising funds, they have to work hard to attract investors. But if they don't get the funds according to the target. They will extend the duration of the ICO and usually until the target is reached.

I think there is no exact limit for ico duration. It depends on ico team. Generally, some ico takes 3 month period for finish the ico. Sometimes I had saw some ico take aprox 1 years to finish. And some of them finished ico but they say the project will be launched after 3-6 months later. I did not see them to launch their project yet. so they are totally exit scam. thanks

All ICO have a schedule for ending sales even though there is an extension of up to 1-2 months, it is unfortunate to leave a signature after 8 months joining but more disappointed if they still survive because the project returned to action on March 3 after missing nearly 5 months ago

It's impossible to predict how long an ICO project will last. The time an ICO project will last depend on how long will they sold out their token. There are so many ICO projects ended right after private sale or presale ended because they reached their hardcap but there are so many other ICO projects last for months because they still need more money for their project or maybe they still don't touch the softcap.

Before you join the ICO project. I think you can read the ICO duration information on the Website. The ICO will continue to run according to the road map or rely on fundraising. But ICO often experiences extended duration. This is done to achieve Soft Cap sales. But some have reached Soft Cap and ICO continues to Hard Cap.

If it is a hyped ico that could even end in 5 minutes. But if a very bad ico with a greedy team that can take years.

This is the new strategy that most devs are using to steal money from investors. They tell you they are in seed round or private sale, whatever way they may call it and offer larger bonuses that will entice investors into buying with the hope that they have the coins for cheap and for that matter they are lucky but here is the case that period never ends so in turns out to be that the investors are losers instead of being lucky.

I guess that was about the ico era, but there are still hyped icos and the next should be celer network and that will end just in some minutes dude, so many people sold their BTT and FET to participate in celer. ico will be last forever.

I have been on ico for 8 months, from April 2018 to the end of 2018. In the end at the beginning of 2019 dev announced that one team had escaped, and would not pay participants. it's very sad, I think you should always check their community and receive the latest updates from them every day.

If its a good project, it'll last for a while and if it is not then it'll vanish very quickly. It depends upon the team also. A good team knows how to make the project stay in the list of worthy projects.

As of my experience, some ico are just short time like only a month, but the average duration of an ico are bout 3 to 4 months, some also last untilc6months but it depends on thr ico project. There are also extending their projects.

For me all ICO projects are scam because they are really trying to make a lot of investors' money and then silence for a long time. Many projects have lasted for more than 6 months and as a result, investors cannot earn any profits. I think this ICO is too old and the current trend is that IEO helps investors to liquidate their investment in the shortest time.

That's also what I've just observed lately, those ico or introductory coins which been held from binance are completely been finished much quicker

There is no limit for how long the ICO should take, it depend on the company or dev, it can be 1, 2, 3 or 4 month until the ICO finish, if the ICO is postpone it will take more long time to finish. Just ask the company or dev or admin about when the ICO start until finish.
