I think after so much time with the price moving sideways we will break out of this range (price is $3,998 as I type this). I think we’ll probably move to possible early $6,000’s before falling to the mid $5,000’s so this is my reasoning for choosing $5680.

I am going to predict a price of $6,500. I’m not too good at TA so I have to just say that June 30 is approximately 1 year from the next halving so $6,500 is starting to creep up towards $10,000 which is what I think the price will be at the halving.

As can be seen, the price greatly respects the weekly moving averages (log chart).  Historically, price tends to drop to the longest acting MA at or near market bottoms.  As the market matures, we are able to jump from a 200 MA (red line) to a 300 and even 400 MA (white and yellow respectively).  I suspect that price will visit one or both of these MA's before moving forward (total speculation).  Current 300 MA is around $2,400 and 400 MA is around $1,800.  My estimate of $2k is suggesting we visit one or both of these MA's.

Reasoning: On the monthly BTCUSD chart there is a resistance level somewhere between $5800 and $6200. I would like to see this level broken (in the next couple of months), so that it could ultimately become a new support level.

I think the slow grind up is in the cards for the entire year. I'm picturing 2012 all over again, which while it was excruciating was still "Good for Bitcoin" overall.

Thanks for the new game Mic! I've never been one to believe in TA in a traditional sense as I believe in a manipulated market that will be used against those doing it but I will try to make an entertaining guess when I can Devine a prediction that will be mostly SOMA and partially Educated Guess (which seems to work just as well as any TA I've seen). I am of the opinion that being able to glean the heartbeat of the scene and the sentiment of the holders/fear level as a whole as well as weighing the shills and trolls is an artform that is as much a skill as creating a chart. Charts do not take into account things like ETF and CBOE/CME not mainstream media and fake news, all which are now part of the driving force behind market movement. As more and more plebs enter the market and are manipulated by the CNBC/Faux shills and as the Institutional cash (Goldmann Ballsacks...) stealthily gobbles up coins behind the scenes one indicator to watch for will be when they are comfortable with their bag size and will no longer allow shit like MT.Gox coins to be used to suppress.

IOW there are far to many forces at work and they will only increase as time goes on and the market expands and being able to glean accurately is becoming more of an artform than an analysts of known facts everyday.

$6,750 is my guess but I think we can be much higher. We'll be less than 12 month before halving and the price will start moving much more than the current sideways action.

My guess is 4380$. 

We are going to see a very flat market, without major changes until end of Q2. A slow growth of price and nothing else. Interesting things gonna happen later (maybe not in 2019, be patient, I'll bet the next major moves will occur in 2020).

Yeah bickering with the Stolfi's and NotLampchop's of the world kind of lost its appeal after a while. The current WO thread isn't as bad as it was a couple years ago, though it still has its extreme viewpoints that make it what it is I guess. Luckily the last 2 years have been distracting in good ways that I didn't feel the need to participate as much.

This moment is like December 2018 in $4,000 we have to go to +/- $5,000 then a strong setback to start the new ath.

I don't think we're out of the thicket yet, there's still too much hope around. The way I see it Bitcoin will try and fail to break USD 5000,- and as a result we'll see one (hopefully last) plunge towards the previous bottom. Come to think of it USD 4100,- is probably the more likely next bottom, however I'll stick with my more pessimistic prediction guess of USD 3100,-.

I didn't get you like a reasoning? I think by the end of Q2 the price is visiting (and about to be rejected by) the weekly MA50 somewhere between 5k and 5.5k based on the pattern last time (so yes, sample size 1, what do I know?)

If the prediction game were about the highest and lowest price during the second quarter, it would have made sense for me to take an educated guess.
But guesstimating the BTC price on any one future day, closing of Q2 or not, is too much gambling for my taste.  :(

I dunno though, TA is pretty much bullshit in my opinion. I´m sure there are certain resistances, otherwise we wouldn`t stay around 4000 for so long. However, it´s just supply and demand as wise man Kostolany once said.

So my opinion for the long term is demand will be rising again. The trend is positive. Bitcoin (also ETH) will be more and more accepted/understood in the real world. However, this takes some time. I guess demand will stay pretty much stable for Q2, which is why my predictions is 4178$.

June 30 is 101 days from now, I think we are gaining some momentum going up, and i estimate we are going 0.15% up on a daily basis (based on historical bitcoin data) on average, if that is correct, we should be hitting the 200 days moving average about 91 days from now at a price around $4650, and I think the 200 day moving average is a strong resistance, and should make us bounce back at least a little (guessing arround 1%), i dont think the price will be able to break the resistence in the 10 remaining days, and so i would predict a price arround $4600

and that`s why my final prediction will be $4596

i don't expect any more price drops specially since it has gotten exponentially harder the lower we went, at 85% drop it is at a high enough support that it can not drop anymore. so the only way is to rise even if we see another temporary drop. with the rise starting we can break $6k since and since that was the bottom for so long i would say somewhere above it is appropriate.

Now I know everyone's got their TA caps on and nudging Q2 price towards new highs for the year, but I'm just happy with this boring levels... as long as I keep earning sort of below 4k and keep selling just above 4k, while retaining as much earnings as possible, I'm good to go.

Meanwhile, I already have an 8888 BAKKT guess somewhere out there, and I see a tiny gap between 5350 and 5500, so I'll go with a rather random, but not implausible: $5432

Because, if what I believe turns out to be wrong, and BTC somehow manages to break out of the 4.2k zone with some volume, then an April surge might continue throughout May and June to fight to stay above 5,500, but as Q2 winds down, important liquidations should chip away just below 5500.

I'm basing this on the previous wave (2013-2017). I'm guessing we're now in the post bottom sideways phase where the bulls will gain momentum (like Jan-Oct 2015). So this means we will most likely be in the 3800-4200 range for the next few months. Volatility will likely be pretty low.

Around end of June I guess we might see some greater volatility with $500-1000 daily price changes. Basically the end of cup and start of handle formation. The mean price around the time might be in the previous sideways (Sep-Nov 2018) support of $6k.

My prediction: $6290

why? first because i wanted to choose a number that was not chosen before but then because currently there is some stuff abrewing in the market and price is starting to rise up, i believe that we are at the end of the drop and at the very beginning of the rise. in 4 months from now it is a safe assumption that we will be at least back to the previous levels above $6k.

No fancy TA or analysis but I think that the last small pushes trying to prop the price will start to finally have some effect at the end of this period which is currently the longest bear market and is already testing our patience.

So, I guess in 3 months we will overcome the 4k and 5k barrier and then get stuck a long time under 6k for a long period, just how last year we stayed for almost 6 months above it before crashing down.

i am low balling it this time and i had to squeeze myself in that range since other have chosen some prices at that level.
$5900 is going to be about 2x rise in half a year and based on the history that kind of rise is expected after a big drop like what we had so far. mainly based on 2015 and since so far we have been following the same pattern it wouldn't be a surprise if the same thing was repeated

i predict $5220

because i am starting to accept the theory of this being the repeat of 2015 but i disagree with $4500ish being the price that we hit because i believe that when we cross $4k-4.2k resistance there will be an initial enthusiasm that can drive the price up faster towards $6k and $5220 is a good guess in my opinion.

I think we could expect to see price if this rise trend continues around 4756 per single bitcoin.

Price is going up slowly for past few weeks and on top if this think my prediction can be mentioned above.

My guess is $5330

We've been in the 3.3k-4k for around 3 months, I think after so much sideways movement for so long, we'll break the 4k barrier very soon, but I don't see the price taking off from there to start a new rally until we break the 6k psychological barrier. With that in mind, I expect some sideways movement around the mid 4k's and then some consolidation around the high 4k's (just like in the previous 3 months but in the 3k range).

Hey Mic - better late than never.

Been playing with a 2015 repeat scenario but I am running two methods, one is dated to track from the 2015 3day chart death cross to the 2018.  Anyway, needless to say the two methods give me two figures.  the other (fixed on both bottoms) puts me right alongside Hairy - inevitably, I guess.   The first is more optimistic so I will go with that.

The factoring of rate of change I am wrestling with puts this prediction at $4634 please (if it's not gone).

I speculated btc might reach the price or would near that in my earlier guessing but sadly it went in vain and we are still in the $4000 mark. Let's see how this progress over the 3 month time. If we still hover on and doesn't get past the breaking point within April or May, then it would be difficult to reach my expected target.

I think around $4600 value is the best prediction for the 2nd quarter since the price keeps hitting 4k value and drop a bit I think the bitcoin price still keeping the resistance level in $4k if the price stays at 4k value in early months or this coming month we will see the price around $4600 as my prediction.
If you are waiting for a burst increase maybe it may happen in ber months or 3rd quarter of this year. My prediction for the 3rd quarter is around $5200 until December.

@exstacie: nice scribbles, I'm not sure why but that's more or less how I'd draw the lines myself. Stretch that timeframe a bit longer to the right, and my scribble goes even lower. We need new lows this year and even early 2020, coming up to halving, so we truly shed all the nocoiners.

just sort of copy-pasting price movment from 2015, and assuming we have bottomed, price should be moving between these 2 green horizontal lines 3k to 4.5k from now till September where we would break up , get a golden cross and move up without ever looking back at these levels.

June 30 would be somehow the begging of the last "failing"test for break above, where the next test on sep should make it.

as far as the 3888$ goes, it is pure shot in the dark  ;D

but predictions from 3700$ to 4100$ seem very reasonable from a TA point of view IMO.

indeed now there is no good news that can make the price of bitcoin rise to expensive again, but you must keep thinking positively and you should not give up because I heard rumors that there will be halving that will happen in 2020, I am sure it will give price increase for bitcoin.

I thought about it myself and asked if there were a way to scientifically justify the bear's path while unacademically looking in the opposite direction. I want the law of the universe to kick me in my teeth with my educated predictions. Or maybe I want to fool it into proving me wrong. So I "know" one direction and "hedge" for the opposite.

I think that bitcoin's price should be 2500$ because in the near future we will see the collapse of scam ico, people will be disappointed in the cryptocurrency again and continue to push the rate down.

Im positive that this year we can expect "something" that will trigger the fuel for the next massive bull run but not in Q2 . Im not really speculating where will the price go because of it's past performance (for about several months or year/s) but for the how the trend behaves everytime it was moving slightly upwards or downwards. Im seeing Q2 of the year will still be part of slow phase upwards that is happening to BTC price.

Although 2 to 3 months is enough to see some progress for let's say the much awaited bullish trend will now happen, we have to look on other way around which is way more possible to happen because of the current price movement.

Honestly I just think we are due for a nice little run up in price. The news out there isn't to bad recently, if you can neglect the negligence of Quadriga, the little mini Mt. Gox wannabe. On the mining front there is actual bigtime improvements in gear launching in multiple batches. it is not just 2, 3 months. it is 4 months until the date of the speculation and also all the previous months (about 3) where price was in this area. so you are technically predicting about 6 months with only about 5% rise. just wanted to clarify what this speculation means.

as for what I think about it, I am more positive about bitcoin and think 5% rise in half a year is too small considering the whole last year was in downtrend mode and we need some reversal to correct that.

I guess bitcoin price will be around 6700. So let it be 6700. This is my bet.

Bitcoin is going to recover. We are in the 3000s level for quite some time already, so the stabilization already happened. Continuosly, we had more time in the 3000s than in the previous 6000s, so we are going back to the 6000s before moving up further.

Also, the chinese mining companies will turn on their machines in May. They had turned them off two weeks before the dive to the 3000s, so now it will be the opposite.

If possible and allowed, I would like to change my tip. And I've just played with numbers:

JUNE 2015 = 263.07
JUNE 2016 = 673.34 (x2.56)
JUNE 2017 = 2,480.84 (x3.68)
JUNE 2018 = 6,404.00 (x2.58)

2.56 + 3.68 + 2.58 = 8.82 / 3 = 2.94

So ... JUNE 2019 = 6,404.00 x 2.94 = 18,827.76 USD

I don't do TA anyway, and as said, even with a very strong TA you can't be precise enough, you need a crystal ball or something.

My guess: 5650.

Reasoning: absent a global liquidity issue, I think there is a limited downside for the bitcoin price, and 3000-4000 usd is quite cheap.  We have been consolidating between 3000 and 4000 and are currently pushing up against the 4000 usd resistance.  It seems quite possible that we will push through, but the 6000 price level which was a bottom for a long time before we definitely fell through it may now provide resistance, so we could stabilize just below it for a while.

I'm basing this on the previous wave (2013-2017). I'm guessing we're now in the post bottom sideways phase where the bulls will gain momentum (like Jan-Oct 2015). So this means we will most likely be in the 3800-4200 range for the next few months. Volatility will likely be pretty low.

Around end of June I guess we might see some greater volatility with $500-1000 daily price changes. Basically the end of cup and start of handle formation. The mean price around the time might be in the previous sideways (Sep-Nov 2018) support of $6k.

My prediction: $6290

God, I missed this Q2 BTC price prediction game but anyway here is my prediction $6,820.
By the way, why close so early? this should be live up the end of April at least.

6370$ should be a realistic guess. It was the end of June 2017 when the crazy bull run started so why not repeat it again this year :)

But by June 30? Be generous, make it $10,000. FOMO has not started yet, but if it does start, $10,000 will be easy in my opinion.

I guess I was a tad premature, especially if things are just heating up. Good luck to everyone, and if it just keeps climbing at least we all win in one way or another.

On a completely unrelated note, I heard they were finaggling financing structures due to the recent Avengers earnings, and Q2 now officially ends May the 4th craziness.  ;)

I after every bull run comes a correction and this will be the correction after the 10 000 $. People still remember the last crazy one (bull run) and they will be a bit more careful... I guess :)

Haha, alright. I believe your prediction will be breached by the end of this week. Then the news breaks out and reaches more plebs, causing FOMO, and a green candle to $8,000, and then to $10,000 before crashing back to $5,000 - $6,000. 8)

Say whaaaat? About 50 days away from Q2 and we're at a price zone that already cuts out more than half of the list. Vapourminer's sitting pretty where I see the price at right now, but of course, we should see a couple of retracements following today. I'm still a bit stubborn about believing in a rally so soon after the last one (yeah, 18 months is too soon, isn't it guys?) but you guys who went for 5-digit predictions are probably feeling good about yourselves right now eh?

I don't need to win as well, my BTC just past my prediction and it looks like it's not going down a bit this June.
Let's finish this at $20K, so everyone will be happy even if we only have one winner here.

Everything did its best to ensure BTC finished the weekend below 7k, but looks like it crept right back over the line in Asian hours. I'm seeing it flutter like a college kid right now on some trades but the way things are going, I probably should also ask my partner for a prediction the next time a game like this comes along.

Haven't forgotten about Bakkt either, though if this rate continues, I'll look like a superbear.

Not at all.

I expected a strong upward market movement after breaking USD 6000,- but not at this scale and not within this timeframe. More importantly for the price-prediction-game, while I expected a run at USD 6000,- before the end of Q2, I expected it to fail and cause a slump until at least the end of Q3.

To be honest my entry was more bearish than I actually felt at the time, however I tried to manage expectations. I still try to stay pessimistic but that's getting harder by the day ;)

On a side note I'm also a bit surprised by Bitcoin's market dominance. I expected alts to catch up sooner, rather than later. Then again we're still early in the game and have been moving much faster than expected.

I'm right at target :D I've noticed this before in the past: It's really easy to predict the right price (okay my wife takes all credit here), but it's impossible to predict the right date with that price.

I know I'm not in the official list of participants for this run but i see  my previous 6370$ prediction to be ready close to the reality. The unstable market in the last few days can really turn downhill sometime in the upcoming weeks.
