Title: Dont be dumb gamblers
Post by: goaldigger on May 09, 2019, 10:18:22 PM
My friend recently get scammed by a gambling site which he found by continuously browsing. On internet. Sorry but even he cant remember the name so i cant tell you but here's what you wouldnt do. He said he was searching about how cryptocurrency gambling work. He is much aware about bitcoin but not about using it for gambling. He find some "yellow botton" he said which offers gambling for newbies and the rest is history. Goodbye $200 . yes thats kinda bit small but should you wait that it happened to you with a bigger amount? Here's what you would do.
1. Dont click and browse non recognized site to avoid phishing.
2.. Always ask first the people on this forum whether the site is legit or not.
3. Dont put too much money on that site so if ever its really a scam, the amount it can get is minimal.
4. If it looks really legit, try some few games with few bets at first.

Being cautious costs less than not being aware at all. Dont let our greediness and dumbness takes over our financial life. Be safe people.

as long as you are playing with the trusted sites here in the forum you should be fine even if you deposit thousands of dollars

We don't know if hes being scammed totally yet forgetting the site which do scams you is really impossible yet this would tied up on your
mind for sometime which basically remembering the name of it.Its impossible to think to forget it directly.Am I right?
Asking out first into the community wont really cost an arm and leg but people do still fail on following this basic thing.

Yes it is true it is hard to believe that OP's friend doesn't remember the site.
And OP if your friend really like to gamble why not show him the trusted sites there are already plenty of trusted gambling sites.
And if you browse Bitcoin Gambling on a browser the first page would show the old and trusted gambling site so how could he click a scam site?

$200 is a lot of money even if you say that is small money ;D
Yes, I agree with you said and being cautious is the most important things that we must do before we visit the suspicious links especially if the site offers to make easy money.
But the fact, many people become greediness and dumbness when they read about how to make money instantly, and it makes them chase more and more for finding those ways even they will deposit some money to get more information.
That will be a good tip for us so we could be careful if we want to visit on the website which we don't know.

That is why I never just randomly click on websites and try new gambling sites. Sending that amount of money in an unknown gambling site is not a good idea. Well, let this be a lesson to your friend. Never ever enter a gambling site without even looking for reviews, feedbacks or even testing it with a small amount.

If he cant access the site and he cant withdrew his balance then he have been totally scammed and there is no other way to recover his funds   .the bad part is that he forgot the sites name   but that should be find out on his browsers history  not unless if he is using incognito mode that time  .this should be a lesson to him that not to trust easily especially if a site is new and dont have a reputation yet

How can he forget the name of the site, to where he send bitcoins and later got scammed?  if he has sent crypto, he can look in his browser history and see what site he was browsing that day, he did the deposit.
This story sound stranges.

But I agree with you, always see what other users say about the gambling site you want to send money and then deposit a small amount, and see how the withdraw works before you deposit bigger amounts, and always remember gambling is something we do to have fun, be prepared to lose it all.

Honestly, while reading the story, it made me read as if I'm panting and quick in reading. Your friend did it wrong, he can't remember the name of the site, much better if he can so others will be informed and warned. So this what happened, your friend as for clicking that button he was instructed to deposit $200 to the address? your friend learned a lesson with that amount and he'll definitely do that again. Don't deposit or send any amount to a random casino or even to someone.

Search for xxx.xxx reviews.
I came to a nice looking dice site called megadice through some blogs and deposited there without a second thought. After It didn't showed up my balance, I realized it already has many red flags all around the forum and the internet. If only I had cared to google once, I would have been saved.

Did he put 200 dollars in a site he doesn't even know the name? Or his computer was invaded? Crypto space is too dangerous, especially if you are randomly searching for crypto sites on google, there is all the kinds of scams there.
Besides checking a site reputation on this forum, check for feedbacks in other places too, also there are many monitoring sites to check other sites legitimacy.

It's definitely your friend's fault in this situation because it doesn't matter if you are an old gambler or you've never gambled in your entire life with bitcoin, you always check the reputation of the website where you are about to deposit 200$. You can't just go around the internet and click on a random website and then deposit your money there just because you like how the website looks. You always make some research, even if you do it for only 5 minutes because it doesn't take much to find out if a website is scam or not.

You should always do some google/bing/yahoo searchers before investing in anything!
Its alot of scammers out there and in the crypto sphere its even more!
And why go to a unknown random site instead of using all the legit once out there its not that hard to find legit once they are everywhere.
Always protect your capital , always!

If your friend knew about BTC and had manage to n some of it then your friend isn't new to the internet, its going to be surprising for someone who will be scammed easily with such scheme. Phishing has been arund since the time paypal started and its more than 20 years ago, anyone still login to a page that has to have high level of security must be double checked.

There are scammers, we should know that.
It's basic to be careful to avoid being scam, phishing is one of the biggest threat for newbie, however we can prevent this if we will use 2FA on our accounts. Most of the gambling sites I'm currently playing are good sites, but I still add more security by putting 2FA in my accounts, just like I treat my exchange accounts.

We must have a vigilant on these scammers because the time to time they are now getting smarter than before. It must be double our security settings to avoid this possible phishing links. However, those people who fooled by scammers are newbie and noobs which is having pure greed. So, we must be careful about clicking links just to have a safe account.

I guess he is not read any reviews from many websites and he directly sent his money to that gambling site. Unfortunately, he sends a big amount of money and suddenly, he lost all of them. Yes, as the other said, that is your friend mistake because he is not investigating the site before he played and only sent the money without make sure that the site is recommended or not.

He said he was searching about how cryptocurrency gambling work.

If he said that, then I don't think that he will spend $200 easily to the site because I am sure that there is a review about that site and he will know if that site has a good reputation or not. But now, all of his money is gone, nothing to regret but next time, telling him not to make the same mistake and stay away from the unknown website for saving his money from scamming.

Ignoramus was the case of your friend as clearly see through your write up. How could he forget the website which cheated or scammed her/him? Personally, wouldn't have done such a thing because, is better to check on the platform you are gambling before proceeding to gamble. Advise: let him/her visit the Beginners section to find some reasonable articles for guild to avoid this next time. Sorry!!!!.

I believe that the first bullet point covers all the above.
Every gambler should be cautious and play only on websites that are known and there are written reviews here in bitcointalk with user experience from other gamblers. Otherwise, it is very risky to gamble your money there.

I, myself discover freebitcoin first and then later on primedice before getting into the forum. How can your friend not remember the sites name?, he can always check it by going in the history tab of his device and find the sites name. Why have you have skipped the information about how did he loose those $200, did he loose it on a bet or he won and the site refused to pay him?. I feel you should invite your friend to the forum, so he can pick a reputable casino for himself which won’t scam him.

Scam sites are scattered everywhere here in the world of internet and just like what the OP has mentioned avoid to click some random links that looks suspicious and unfamiliar. Think before you click, and remember that just use a small amount of fund for your first try to avoid losing a losing all of your money. Besides, you can ask for some tips here in the forum on where to play or maybe you could look here in this forum because actually there's quite a lot of casino in here, for example, Vegascasino (https://vegascasino.io/casino/video-slots/durian-dynamite?utm_source=ccdd) where I used to play, don't worry it is a reliable one. In fact, it has live dealers so you can sure that there will be no anomaly in here and just like most of the players want which is bonuses is quite a lot.

Luckily it's really easy to avoid getting scammed, usually you can just spot the scammy websites from a mile away.
If a gambling website offers instant withdraws and you actually have proof that it's a trusted website, then you can be pretty sure you won't get scammed.

That's why I typically only play on casinos that will automatically send any withdraws to my wallet.

Oh, so this is why he forgot the site's name. Well, it's really his fault to begin with. Maybe he should just focused on doing his job so that this didn't have to happen. And for me, $200 is a large amount of money already. It's greater than the minimum wage here in our country. I don't think I can handle such loss especially that I don't earn big. Anyway, talking to him about what he should do next time he tries gambling online will be a good first move. But I bet you've already done that and I hope he learned his lesson. As for us, we will be more precautious as well.

Lol, the moral of the story is "Don't gamble while working" :). He can't concentrate on the things that he want to do as it is not his property. If you gamble you've got to focus and not just click anything and better to do it at home where you have peace of mind (away from stress of work).

Not really sure what the Yellow button is but I can't figure out how your friend forgot where he deposited the bitcoins. Even in incognito mode didn't he have to register on the site and verify his email address or something? You usually receive a link to your email that you have to click on to verify your account or a welcome message of some sort.

Being scammed after you invest your efforts and money really is a pain. I agree that we should be suspicious and more wise when it comes to choosing the right cryptocasino you can invest to. And I also like the fact that you should invest a little first instead of putting a large amount before playing. Good thing the crypto casino (https://vegascasino.io/promotions/race-to-the-top?utm_source=rttcc&fbclid=IwAR1ZAKJYmHyHawIkg7htzEi_dBJEEL1WOoOMKUVnD5ds67IihUBIUFGQh44) my friend recommended me is a legit one. Of course, even if it was recommended by a friend, I still did my homework and research about in especially on forums like this. It was such a big help. And when I finally decided to try, I only deposited the minimum amount needed in order to play. I was so glad that everything turned out right even after playing more games from their 300 different games. Just as what mentioned above, this gaming site offers live casino. I especially love this feature of them because there's a real dealer for a fair game and real players and not just programmed.

This is being scammed because of being naive and not thinking before acting. If your friend is scammed from a crypto casino is only his fault, we all know that crypto transactions are irreversible and can scam easier than Fiat casino can.

He should have asked for reviews if he didn't know this forum and if he did know this forum is only his fault twice.

If anything, your friend should learn from this mistake to look for reviews from members of this forum about crypto casinos before depositing money on any of ‘em. It definitely sucks that he lost money, but everybody occasionally makes mistakes. The important thing is you learn from them so you don’t make the same mistake again.

Negative trust on an account representing a casino on this forum is usually a good sign that the casino in question is not legit. Your friend should also be reading the most recent few posts on any threads relating to the casino to determine if it’s legit or not.

Before making any move in regards to depositing your money, best to review first as there's a lots of phishing site who do promises that can hook you up, no one can be blamed about what happened but it's always the users obligation to do deep research before you sending money.

Your friend made a very big mistake how can you trust a random gambling site's which you found on the internet, most of the gambling site's that offer online casino with bitcoin have an official thread on bitcointalk and before you play games on the site always read users feedbacks and reviews on the thread from there you can figure out if it legit or scam. He just have to say goodbye to the $200 deposit he lost.

Why not remember the site? Ask your friends again there must be in browsing history and its useful for us, that we do not want to deal with scammed and they must be fought. Don't look for sites that have no reputation, search in the gambling section there are many popular sites and officially not scam.

We can find the scam gambling sites even by entering into their sites, they will have shit user interface and also fake chat rooms the comments will get repeated mostly so anyone who don't even see this on a site deserved to be scammed.

I agree with all the said points but the quoted one. Most of the so-called trusted gambling sites will operate normally when you play small amounts and win small. The problem starts once you start depositing huge bankrolls or request a withdrawal of a high volume win. That is when they start introducing KYC and other security checks on your accounts. Most of the time it is to scam the money from you. Due to this, play on gambling sites which are known for instant deposit and withdrawals for a very long time.

I believe that the first bullet point covers all the above.
Every gambler should be cautious and play only on websites that are known and there are written reviews here in bitcointalk with user experience from other gamblers. Otherwise, it is very risky to gamble your money there.

New gambling sites are always risky. I always play majority of gambling games on trusted gambling sites. Even sometime i need to play on new gambling site, i spend only limited funds there. This way even if the new gambling site try to scam, i will not lose much of my funds.

as long as you are playing with the trusted sites here in the forum you should be fine even if you deposit thousands of dollars
Since he had mentioned that his friend do make up a search and op isnt aware for that searching of gambling sites.Making google search
without having some sort of verification or feedback from community will really possibly get you on trouble. We've known lots of either phishing
or untrusted sites which would result into stolen of funds.

It's a real nightmare and sorry to hear that situation faced by your friend.

You may research some what about gambling and best gambling sites on this forum before gambling as per the results. Gambling is the path to earn or loose money just an entertainment factor that's it.
Even that also you need to stay alert before investing on gambling.

Gambling is a very risky game and many people take advantage of gambling games to commit various frauds in order to gain profit from their victims.

Careful attitude must always be instilled by gamblers. In this forum, too many people have reported various scam gambling sites. It would be wiser if we play on a gambling site to see the reputation of the site first and you can find references to trusted gambling sites especially those that accept bitcoin gambling in this forum.

This forum is indeed the best place to seek out some advises if you do find something new site to play on but i would rather choose or search up which most people do support when it comes to gambling.
Lots of them actually and lots of options to choose on but there are really some instances which are inevitable due to lack of knowledge plus some sort of being sensible into these situations.

If he is aware of bitcoin, then why is it still looking for gambling sites out there that are not necessarily true or scam. At least if he is aware of bitcoin then he realizes there is bitcoin gambling which is indeed widely available here. After all, clicking carelessly the link will only allow you to go deeper into a phishing site and I have left things like this for a long time with caution and not carelessly clicking on any link and it's obviously dangerous.

His friend probably heard it but no knowledge about how it is being used. That's the main reason why his friend got scammed because he's too ignorant about of the possibilities of what would happen to someone's cryptocurrency if they just carelessly surf on the web and randomly click any pop-ups that showed on their screen.

I feel bad for his friend of losing $200 that money is enough already to invest in a legit gambling site. If he only knew about this forum he would have gained enough knowledge.  :-\

Did he put 200 dollars in a site he doesn't even know the name? Or his computer was invaded? Crypto space is too dangerous, especially if you are randomly searching for crypto sites on google, there is all the kinds of scams there.
Besides checking a site reputation on this forum, check for feedbacks in other places too, also there are many monitoring sites to check other sites legitimacy.

from the sound of it, he deposited the $200 on that site. to test a never-heard gambling site, one should deposit very small amount first or try their faucet if theres any.
maybe that site has a very attractive promo why he sent an outright $200. just guessing here though.
because that's human nature, attracted with freebies, bonuses and the likes. not thinking that in some way, that particular site is already luring him. pop ups are always there, just waiting for their right victim...

Yeah I know there are many gambling sites in online, but forgetting sites that hurt you because cheated you, is a strange thing. lol
the point is that if you play gambling by searching sites randomly on Google, make sure that you already know the background of their owner, their trustworthiness, you should see a review for that site, how long the site is running, and so on. You have to research it dude. don't directly play and ignore the security, thats dumb gambler.

or if you want to be simple, just play on gambling sites in this forum, as I know most of them are trusted

before you can play on a number of gambling sites, you should first do research on each gambling site that we will explore, although some of them can provide extraordinary promotions if we are not careful and do not know more details on the gambling site owner then it is likely can easily get scam at gambling sites that can't be trusted. Cunning people have their own clever ways so they can make fake gambling sites just to take advantage of people who have invested in them.

The last word will be important to remember which is "Don't let our greediness and dumbness takes over our financial life".

I agree with that words because that we need always to remind that in gambling, we cannot force ourselves to try to win because that will be too difficult or almost impossible especially if we don't have luck. As long as we can stay awake in the games and not thinking to chase the win money, we could prevent the worst thing so we could leave from the place without a big regret.

Actually, I won't play gambling to the gambling site that I just know for my self only, yeah I agree with if someone get a gambling site and he get interested to gambling site then the first thing that should do is ask to this forum or as to google about the gambling site. But I'll prefer to ask in this forum because the people here has a lot of knowledge to gambling site so as he will know where the legit place and the scam place. Also, if someone active in this forum I suggest to choose gambling in this forum too, at least it will make this forum survive and can be visited by newcomers.

I don't think that kind of things can happen to any of us because we do not search the internet or Google for Bitcoin-related questions instead this forum is the resource dump for all the crypto related questions. You can easily find a lot of gambling site and about the reviews and many more things so you can get a solid understanding of the casino before even entering the site.

Exactly, checking and verifying the site will enhance our knowledge to decide on which site is liable to be penetrated, because people who are lack of wisdom in gambling is feasible to attached from acting aggressiveness that may lead to loses. But we can rid from loses, being wise for every deliberation we take is the most appreciable way.

My only opinion is don't get involved in this field by the influence our by the force of someone because playing your own game only give you to the satisfaction about what you have done it was also your loss otherwise it will definitely give pressure on your mind.

I refuse to play on many new gambling site because of afraid from being scammed, so I just want to play on the trusted site for years now which gives me more confident to play. Gamblers should not think for any rewards at first, you need to know the gambling site if its legit or not. Don't ever forget where is your money, you have to monitor it.

Being aware of bitcoin does not mean that person will automatically be aware of crypto currency gambling sites. Yeah, he may have heard about crypto casinos, but that does not mean that he will know which casino are legit and which ones aren't. Isn't it a good practice to find out about something before you use it specially if will involves money?

I am not a dumb gambler by any means which is why I dont lose very much money with this form of entertainment.
I consider a dumb gambler a person who gambles daily on anything they can get their hands on.
Regarding your friend who doesnt remember which site he lost his money at make sure next time he you do your research.
There are way too many scam sites in this area thats its worth your extra time to make sure its a legit site.

It was your friend's fault because he didn't recognize more about gambling sites, I just regretted that with so many blind people like that by going to fraudulent sites, maybe by doing research first or looking for good gambling site references in the forum this and it's clear that you provide knowledge and others, so be careful, don't try it in gambling, select sites that clearly exist.

It should be a good idea to tell your friend to install an adblocker  at this point as it looks like he followed a bogus site

Wouldn't agree more but another solution would be using a good web browser..Some web browsers like yandex usually warn of any possible phishing potential from websites which could save you from this loss.

2.. Always ask first the people on this forum whether the site is legit or not.
It's easier for forum members to find legit websites using this method but for the general public out there it's all a matter of due diligence.

Quote
3. Dont put too much money on that site so if ever its really a scam, the amount it can get is minimal.
4. If it looks really legit, try some few games with few bets at first.
This doesn't solve the problem of avoiding a scam ::) because anything greater than a zero is a win for the scumbags.

Due diligence is the premium answer to not getting scammed.

I don't get why people would choose to play on some new shady sites instead of choosing one of many well known casinos with trusted reviews and active staff? Those who do are probably new not only to gambling but also to cryptocurrencies and fall victim to scams like cloud mining clients and people who buy trading tips from youtubers ;)

It's not about not being a stupid gambler. The key is to not be stupid in life. If you are stupid online you will sooner or later lose money buying into a scam and it doesn't have to be a casino.

It directly bring you to the site whenever you click the play button? I am not aware of this and just leave it alone and continue on the process. I beg to disagree because one can have its own decision and should never blame anybody on your decision. It is you or one who made the decision even if a friend influence but it is you will going to make the final.decision.

Before I do blame other for the decision in which being influence with friends but I realize that it is not them that has the problem and instead it is the one who made the final decision (Yourself).

Probably his friends mind is invaded by greed.  Scam sites often times offer a too good to be true deal.  Like depositing x amount of money then giving it a bonus of y times the amount and just need a few times roll and he can withdraw his money including the bonus.  Review does not work that much since mostly scam sites are prefer for this.  They will get their accomplice to put a deceiving perfect review on their website and praise that scam gambling site.

I agree to check the review on other platform not just that websites platform because it will be full of censorship for sure.

Thats  always the problem, but they would never admit to this. Once it happens they start finding ways to twist the story around. Most gamblers are always intrigued when they see that a site can offer very huge bonuses, they do not care to know if the site is scam or not. Sometimes they are just cool with the reviews they would have probably read on the site without even having a second thought that there is possibility of the site paying people to drop reviews on their site.

I am in support of checking reviews on every available sites to know more of the site but more preferably it is always better to play on well known and old casino sites.

Well that is pretty dumb but usually it's a common mistake made by curious newbies. Though i'm pretty sure that at this day and age, where scams, frauds and hackings are quite common, a person would be extra wary in depositing even a small amount in a site he just found out. If he really intended to gamble with crypto, first thing he should've done would be to ask around for reliable sites. With the number of threads and discussions all over the internet, it's not going to be hard to get information.

I'm actually new into online gambling, I always remind myself in every actions that I make especially when it comes into a place to play because I don't want to experience losing money again just because of those scam sites. I definitely agree with you since sometimes we need some guidance luckily, there are different information that can help us here. Well one of my friend suggested that bitcoin casino (https://vegascasino.io/casino/video-slots/durian-dynamite?utm_source=ccdd), since i'm not familiar with it I decided to look and research about it. Its great because it offers different gaming games like poker, slots, blackjack and roulette, aside from that they will never fail your expectation with free bonuses. It is actually one of the criteria that i'm looking for and i'm glad because I was able to find the bitcoin casino for me. Some of you may think that it was easy though it is definitely not especially for us who is new in this kind of thing. As new in online gambling, I always make some time and effort to learn some different things and strategies.
If you really don't want to experienced to lose a lot of money you should be really avoid clicking on unusual sites, especially for those fake advertisement that you always seeing at the internet because they may hack you and steal all of your funds in your wallet, that is why i always read reviews on gambling sites that first saw for me to know if the gambling site is legitimate or can be trusted. Anyways, Vegascasino.io is really a legitimate site and trustworthy site because it has great features, so that every users will be convenient in using their site like fast payouts, user-friendly, outstanding bonuses, hundreds of casino games, great supports, and it has a live casino that will give great gambling experience.

I dont understand how he forgot the name of the website, where he put his money. Im sorry but I have to say he is too dumb in terms of investment, and he wants to gamble? Thats a complete disaster. He'll end up on the streets if he keep on doing that. Anyway, there are a lot of trusted gambling website, why would someone choose to put their money in a newly created website? I feel sorry for him btw.
Like his friend has said, maybe he is too rich that losing money is notting . Imagine op saying $200 "is a bit small" that means to them remembering of the website or the gambling site is notting.  If someone scam you and you what to open a thread like this it good you asked your friend to Check his broswer history as he can get everything there.
It’s not about been so rich but about a guy that has a nonchalant attitude and that’s the worst kind of attitude for gambling. How can a man lose $200 no matter how rich he is and cannot remember the name of the site, at least if the money is small to him, the information would be important to safe other players. Taking such information spuriously is a high level of carelessness and this is what makes people.

There are so many reputable sites here on BF and anyone familiar with this forum is not expected to make such mistake because information’s regarding gambling are always here and I don’t see any reason why we have to carry out a research on Google before playing a game.

It can actually still happen to some people especially those who are new to BF, either as a member of BF or non-member. I understand that all information’s regarding Gambling is here on the forum but there are times we want to make more research and in the process one can fall into scam sites. There are just times we need something new and different from the regular, so we do more research and one can only hope not to make mistake in choosing a site during that period.

For me, I don’t think I can ever make that type of mistake, not when I am aware of all the crypto sites here and I can ask questions and see reviews on each of the site.

I don’t understand crypto casino sites anymore, its either they are requesting for KYC or some or just some other things that makes one want to doubt its security. But that does not mean there are still no very good gambling sites. As a matter of fact, I know a lot of them on this Bitcoin forum, the best thing is just to do a proper study and read review on each of them before gambling.

For me, online gambling might not be entirely safe but it is still better than real life gambling. Nothing compared too staying at the comfort of your home to play games, no stress, no hassle. And in offline casino, one can win and be scared of going home for the fear of being robbed.

Only newbies and their greediness falls to this kind of scam, if the gambling site is very popular, they will never risk their reputation by scamming people, only new gambling sites do such thing, they want fast money and they are doing this in the expense of newbies who for some unknown reasons are not asking old members if the site is legit or not searching is there is a scam report on that site.

Only newbies and their greediness falls to this kind of scam,

not just newbies but also veteran and pro users do also fall for this kind of scheme's and greed or the eagerness to earn is what drive's them to do those things .

if the gambling site is very popular, they will never risk their reputation by scamming people, only new gambling sites do such thing,

alot of reputable gambling sites and other kind of websites that are reputable and have been running for a long time but they still do scams  . they are willing to risk everything including thier reputation just to earn a good quick profits  .

dumb gambler or not , we are still facing a risk everytime we gamble and its literally called a gamble , once we put our funds online .

And also it is more strange thing that your friend deposit $200 without any thinks that it is trust-able site or not, so it is clearly your friend mistake that he did it.
Otherwise you could see a lot of gambling sites are working in this forum, and all are trust-able. So now you have come in this forum, so tell your friend if he wanna play again then come in the forum and join these gambling sites.

That’s mostly the problems; most people will just hurry to play on sites that offer huge bonuses without proper investigation. I have made these mistakes in my early years of gambling and I have really learnt from my mistakes. Its not worth it to lose money out of impatience. $200 might be small to his friend but there are a lot of people who work so hard to get this money.

Personally I don’t gamble in an unknown site, I do my proper research before gambling and from study it seems like most known sites are always more reputable and trustworthy. My first scam experience with a gambling site was a new site, I crashed after sometime and my friends told me that it is very common with new gambling sites.

We can’t assume is  greed. Not everyone is greedy to lose money in gambling; at times it could be a mistake. It’s possible that his friend didn’t even take note of the site his opening or he just clicked on a site mistakenly. There are so many scam sites out there and I have been a victim, so I can tell that not all loses are due to greed, although I know perfectly that greed is a problem that causes most losses in gambling.

My suggestion is for everyone to always go through reviews before gambling on a site, don’t be too convinced that a site is genuine because of the bonus offers or whatsoever they have to offer. It is also important to be careful while browsing through the internet, to avoid clicking on wrong sites.

The fault was totally belongs to your friend why playing at the casinos which don't have reputation and when decide to play at the particular casinos it should not be done with rush because research is necessary to ensure playing at legit casinos and don't ever tempting for big bonus if the casinos which offering those bonus brand newbie of have no reputation because possibly they will attempts to scamming people
Actually that’s what I am thinking also, with hundreds of gambling sites in this forum (or maybe thousand) he’s friend gamble and risk to that scam site?sounds more stupid mate

And you’re also correct on what you’ve said about researching first before betting and risk your precious money and time also
Normally people take time to understand the difference between a good and a bad casino. One should be responsible for one’s own acts and should never point at others for their losses because when you are in the gambling arena, it is assumed that you are very wise. And a wise man will find the best gambling site. There are so many over the internet and you can know about them if you try to give it a search. Try not to be part of the sites that has a KYC.

It is strange that your friend has lost in scam gambling site and he forget the name of it. How could it possible?
And also it is more strange thing that your friend deposit $200 without any thinks that it is trust-able site or not, so it is clearly your friend mistake that he did it.
Otherwise you could see a lot of gambling sites are working in this forum, and all are trust-able. So now you have come in this forum, so tell your friend if he wanna play again then come in the forum and join these gambling sites.
I doubt that his friend wont tend to play gambling anymore unless if he do still have some money to spare with gambling then he might consider to play once again. This forum itself is a good place on looking up for good casinos/gambling sites but still be careful with unknown or new ones. You would still able to see since most members here do give out feedback specially on new ones and thats already a good reference for you as a new gambler or user.

Googling isn't even a good way to source for trusted sites. He should have at least gone through the site review on reputable review sites..
Bitcointalk would have been best for him but not everyone knows about the forum
The best way to get a trusted gambling site to me is through this forum.  We are seeing many comments and review about any online gambling here than any reviews sites online.  I will encourage us to always see what people are saying here about a particular sites a review also.

Forum is a legitimate way to get the sites reviews and advices as well which will help in Knowing the  difference between the trusted and non trusted sites and also helps in staying away from scam and other issues which Can impact you
A couple numbers of gambling sites had been listed in a thread in this forum, a visit to that thread would  have aborted or prevented his loss.
A lots of reviews and comment had been made by regular gamblers here,  however this is wake up call to newbies to watch out and avoid being scam by so-called gambling sites who defraud unsuspecting newbies with juicy packages or returns.

Yeah there are so many scammer and we will have to avoid them if we want to make money and want to be good gambler, as there are so many regular and they have long experience so they should learn from them, for new gamblers it is advisable to research about the site they have decided to gamble with, better avoid trying new websites.

That's pretty much the very least everyone should do in ANY service or website in which you put your money it. For example, crypto exchanges.
I usually just google the name and try to find discussions about the said service. However there could be bots or payed people who shill the said service, so you need to be mindful of that as well.
Google is your best friend yet again! ;)

I don't usually trust the search of engine google since I was heard that Google tolerate having ads scammy website, in short, I don't trust Google search directly. Sad to know that the friend of OP was scammed which he found on Google. I don't understand instead of viewing gambling site on Google why not here in the forum you'll be totally safe in here in choosing the gambling site which is all of them are legit and have a long term in service. Next time choose a gambling site here is very safe even you've deposited millions of dollars that safe as long as you that gambling site were having ads here.

What I don't understand is that he can't even remember the name of the site?

I'm a bit curious why? If you will be putting money into a site that you can't even remember the name of it? What happens if that is a legit site and accidentally delete your browser's history? What now? I think that is a problem, you see we don't just put money into some site that we don't know of. Another thing is that you and your friend can prevent someone from being scammed again by this site. Your friend may be a rich person to waste that $200 but I think he is a stupid person, please guide him.

3. Dont put too much money on that site so if ever its really a scam, the amount it can get is minimal.

Even if it is a small amount, I will never put anything into it as long as I can't confirm that is a legit site or not. I would not waste any money from transaction fees to a small amount to bet on that. My money is not for experimenting sites, also there are a lot of people you can ask whether that certain site is legit or not.

4. If it looks really legit, try some few games with few bets at first.

"looks" are not the basis of being legitimate, you should be able to tell or if not, as I said and said by a lot of people, ask people you know or this forum since there are a lot of people here that can tell you.

My friend recently get scammed by a gambling site which he found by continuously browsing. On internet. ~Goodbye $200 .~

Why browsing the Internet looking for a gambling site, when you can come here on this forum and see dozens of established sites and new ones with reviews on them? I personally don't know about more reliable source of information regarding crypto gambling than this very forum. It's better to spend one hour reading about various gambling sites here than saving one hour, but losing $200 to some scammers, imo.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense if he cannot found any recommended gambling site on here because we are sharing the best gambling website which he can use to gamble. But that will be different if he doesn't know this forum so he can search on the internet and found many gambling websites in out there without knowing which is the good gambling site.

I don't find this to be real, because even when you search internet for a gambling website with cryptocurrency acceptance you'll get a list of gambling websites that have gained good reputation from the cryptocurrency users. I think he might have got scammed through some referral link which he could've received into his email.

Understanding the differences between bad and good casino isn’t so easy mate. You all are making it look like the only sites that scam are the unfamiliar ones and there are still few new sites that are genuine, reviews sometimes can even be deceiving. Some scam sites can actually look so real that you might be needing extra ordinary effort to detect that is scam.

Best advise really is to gamble on known sites, we have a lot of them here and if any negative thing happens, we know how to bring them to book.  I can never ever gamble on a site with KYC, that is one mistake I wouldn’t make in gambling, its trash. Why should a gambling site ask for KYC, for what use exactly?

These are actually helpful especially for newbies who are relatively new to the gambling world. But in all honesty, some are easier said than done. Gambling is an act which is very difficult to maintain and have discipline due to its nature being satisfying and giving adrenaline. Not to mention, everything revolves around money in that aspect- which is the primary need of a human.

There are lots of legit and trustful gambling sites roaming around this forum. I guess one of the major considerations is the length of the gambling site's operation. If it has been around for years, it means that it already built its strong reputation and trust from its user. But you are right, doing research and asking is the best way in order to know if the gambling site is legit or not.

This pretty much common sense. I think most important is #2 among you mentioned.

Basically make sure your AV is up to date and when you come across a site you want to try, go look it up on the forum to see reviews.

If there are none you can either make a thread about it to confirm if others have also heard about it or take the risk and be the first to try it, THEN make a thread about it.

How can his friend not take note of a site opening, is he a newbie in gambling and what the smartness we preach here always is. It is very clearing this case that the young man was greedy and I can say this without mincing words that if we dig deep, we would always realize that of 1 to 10 scam issues that happens in gambling, there is always an atom of greed on the side of the player.

Let him that have ears hear, if anyone fails to go through reviews, check out familiar websites in gambling and do a proper research before gambling, they should be held responsible for their action and learn to put blames on themselves.

What I normally do is to game with platform on the forum and go through their site review to know vif the gambling site is legit and not sc you. But most of the gambling you fi e on Google may not have any good review and reputation but you will never know until you get in to start noticing the scam activities from they platform.

That list is completely exclusive. The forth sin which was listed as WRATH is one thing I never cease to emphasize on when teaching players on how to gamble. There is always an ideal mood to gamble and that is just when you are in a normal state of mind. Over joyousness can lead one to make mistakes in gambling. I read the story of a man that won over $100,000 from gambling, he was so excited that he tried going on another bet with the money and within a blink of an eye, he had lost it all.

The last line is everything; play with your heart and not your heart. Adding emotions to gambling is one of the greatest mistake any gambler would make, both happy moods and unhappy moods should be separated from gambling entirely.

I will tell you about the way things work in the market. Something that is the best out there is advertised and is sold on high prices. Something that is the worst is also advertised and is represented as the best service/good and you are charged for that. That being said, it is necessary to understand that there might be good and bad casinos websites when it comes to the provision of services but you have to have that trait to feel if one is good as compared to another. Only then you could make some money. Staying on a casino with some weak service is going to be very tough for you to make money/enjoy at.

1. Dont click and browse non recognized site to avoid phishing.

It's unfortunate that your friend cannot even remember the name of the scam site when he should so he can warn other people, so they cannot do what they've done to your friend,  the first thing your friend have done and to those who have been scammed is to report it immediately in this forum or any related forum and the most important thing is, not to forget the name.

The same as here, I don't usually visit gambling sites that didn't have ads here. Those gambling sites that found on google and sending you an email usually have shitty activities. Unless if that gambling site having sig ads here I didn't have doubt to deposit my money. The situation that happens by OP friend was greediness he was tempted by the prize.

The last line is everything; play with your heart and not your heart. Adding emotions to gambling is one of the greatest mistake any gambler would make, both happy moods and unhappy moods should be separated from gambling entirely.
I also read through the list and it is nice. I think the sin of LUST should always be our watchword in gambling. There are people that are always out of their mind ones they hear about gambling because they feel it is a place to gain all the joy in the world. This is more common with those who play for fun, they lost after the game that they no longer have control in gambling.

There is a saying that whatever has a beginning also has an end, its good to know when to put an end to the game. Gambling is very interesting obviously but it can be controlled, I have been doing this in gambling and I try to set a limit to playing my game.

What I normally do is to game with platform on the forum and go through their site review to know vif the gambling site is legit and not sc you. But most of the gambling you fi e on Google may not have any good review and reputation but you will never know until you get in to start noticing the scam activities from they platform.
I think I trust the reviews on the forum more than on Google search but I always look at reviews also. And I look at sites that have existed for long, it seems those sites are always better because most new sites are scam sites. In short there are just too many scam and I am even afraid of gambling sometimes. I have lost again to another site last week despite how careful I always play  but then I understand its common with gambling.

With the increased number of scam gambling sites, the only thing gamblers should do is to be extremely smart and careful. It’s really terrible how much money gamblers are losing to scam sites on a daily basis.

You are right greed is very dangerous for players but greedy gamblers will admit to this. I made a friend on this forum of recent and he shared his gambling experience with me, and how he lost over 4BTC to gambling, I was so amazed because judging from all the explanation, it was so obvious that he was greedy because there was an opportunity to stop.

Let’s not be too fast to put money into gambling. It is always good to read reviews and know the site very well. This is what I have been doing and I have really avoided been scammed. So any one that refuse to read reviews would not have any site to blame for been scammed.

Sorry your friend is the one who is dumb here. Why would he choose to throw money a site he knows nothing about?? Like who even does such a thing?? I am not that stupid. I don't just jump on a search page and looking for any site that I can use for gambling when I already know that the Internet is filled with scammers and there are lots of websites that are owned by them. These days the level of scammers in the Internet is high and the number of fake websites are now more than the legit ones. So I cannot make such a mistake.

I don't find this to be real, because even when you search internet for a gambling website with cryptocurrency acceptance you'll get a list of gambling websites that have gained good reputation from the cryptocurrency users. I think he might have got scammed through some referral link which he could've received into his email.
This is SEO brother. You need to search things out with different terminologies. Check out Stake.com and you will be directed to so many options where you would be able to participate and gamble with your crypto. This is a small thing man, you need to be sharp like James Bond to be able to make thing happen in virtual world and maybe make money in crypto gambling.

We all make mistakes especially in gambling, What if the friend is new to the game. My close friend also made this kind of mistake despite all I have taught him on gambling, there was nothing I could do than to keep on encouraging him. So many shits happen in gambling industry.

Too many scam sites by the day, we just have to be very vigilant.
Play on famous sites only, read reviews from those who have played on the sites and the best places to get these reviews are on this forum and at first play, it’s better to play with very small amount of money.

I will never do such thing for I know the risk of being gamblers and about lots of scammers in the internet

Its hard to get an accurate read on online casinos because there are a lot of shills across the internet.  Even the so called reputable casinos have many scam accusations against them.  The best thing to do if you like gambling is to try to put that money into risky investments instead of a casino, thats the smart play.

I would like to add one more point here which I think is the most important and many newbies get victim of it.

5. Do not get attracted / tempted  to Deposits bonus / Referral bonus on the newly created gambling / betting sites.

Its not a big deal if he does not remember the scam site name. There is 1000s of them and you have to follow the above rules in order to prevent yourself from scam. If you just remember that this and that site are scam and should be avoided, it is likely that you might find another scam site and become victim of it. I thought this thread explains how you don't become an addict. because many players become addicts because they are dumb.

Anyway, I agree too, that never play or use a large amount to gamble on gambling sites that you think that site are foreign to you
It's good if you ask about the level of trust of that site in this forum first or you can search review of that gambling site on Google

Never play a large amount on any gambling site, if you don't want to become addict ). If you win a big prize you'd likely want to repeat it. If you lose a lot, you may want to win back.

Play safe, with amount you can lose for entertainment purposes and that's will help you not addicted to gambling

Did he/she check the site before depositing money? well, it's very stupid when not checking an online site. We should know that gambling has a great risk, the same goes with the gambling site. It's normal to be dumb sometimes but when it's a money-related situation, you should be careful at it. You should spend it on important things that might help you in the future. Lastly, deposit a small amount of money on gambling, if you deposit a huge money, you'll get addicted and might lose it.

But for those sites that are famous especially more on the forum, you can easily read the reviews of fellow mates and know what people are saying about them.

I feel It’s not a big deal actually but it would have been nice if he took note of it, the essence of that is to prevent others from never visiting and at least having a bad review is another way to stop some people from repeating the same mistake. There are so many scam sites existing and following this rules is not 100% guarantee that one cannot fall victim, it sometimes happen by mistake, so the best is always to take note of the site when these happens and it can be reported.

These reason I always advise gamblers not to be too fast in gambling on a site but to ensure to make proper enquires on a site by reading reviews and at looking for people who has an experience with the site.

That happens to many people. They are tempted to earn double from their deposit, so they send the money on that site, but unfortunately, the bonus will need the other thing before it's given to the gamblers. Maybe they need to wager some money before the bonus will be added to their game or they need to play for some round. But the worst thing is after they send the money as the deposit, the website is run away with their money, and that will make that people will be sad.

No matter what you pen down here about new sites, there would still be people who would still go ahead to play and after they lose they will be looking for shoulder to cry on. I remember always sharing stories of my mistake with my good friend and he has made the same mistake last week by playing on a scam site.

At first he couldn’t summon the courage to tell me, but I noticed his attitude towards gambling of recent and that was when my guy admitted that he’s been scammed on a new gambling site.
With the number of familiar gambling sites I see on the forum daily, I wonder what anyone would be looking for in a new site that is unfamiliar.

It’s this mentality of respecting people’s decision that has caused a lot of harm to many addicted gamblers.

It’s their money and that we know but that doesn’t mean we cannot correct evil deeds in gambling. It’s because of these gambling activities that gambling now has a bad name and reputation. Compulsive gamblers should be corrected with every word that would make them have a change of mind.

Gambling is a game of entertainment and for gamblers who have interest in making money, they should learn to play with discipline and not get carried away with the game.  Gambling addiction does not only destroy the individuals but it affects the family and friend of the affected gambler.

Yeah mate, but that’s part of entering the gambling community specially in this online world,we cannot account the mistakes here and there but the idea of The man was just a Newbie in gambling but has a guts to just play in random sites is what I called stupidity, because he can just choose from the leg it’s since lots of them are offered here in crypto world

You are definitely right since we can't assure ourselves that its safe to play that's why we really need to be careful and aware, I have also experience the same thing and i'm not gonna do the same mistake again. I have learn my lesson and that's enough, well that bitcoin casino was suggested by my cousin since i'm looking for some casino that . can provide the things I desire when it comes to gaming games and free bonuses, they have plenty of gaming games to offer. Of course I have to make sure that its safe and secured that's why I look for some reviews and feedbacks about it and its amazing since most of them are positive. Well they also give free bonuses for their new players, as a new player it makes me feel great. Its hard to find a trustworthy gambling site and a site that can provide all of your gaming needs but if you have just aware of everything and set some things you consider about online casinos then you can find it, but of course you have to make sure by just searching some details about that casino.

...

I thought this thread explains how you don't become an addict. because many players become addicts because they are dumb.

Anyway, I agree too, that never play or use a large amount to gamble on gambling sites that you think that site are foreign to you

...

Never play a large amount on any gambling site, if you don't want to become addict ). If you win a big prize you'd likely want to repeat it. If you lose a lot, you may want to win back.

Play safe, with amount you can lose for entertainment purposes and that's will help you not addicted to gambling

Lol. That's right. It's foolish to bet on any site, new or old, with large amounts of money that you can't afford or an amount you'll probably need for more important things. Though gambling makes a fool out of many of us lol. You'll see many dumb decisions from normally logical people when they start to get themselves deep into gambling lol.
Very funny but that is just the truth. I always thought I was smart until I saw the fool in myself when I ran into one gambling site with many bonuses promised and the site was full of varieties of games and it was really captivating. Before I could say Jack I had spent all the money that I had budgeted for my upkeep that month and to crown it all, luck was far away from me that day and I lost everything on that site.

Gambling can make a fool of anyone really but to prevent this, we can learn to also set limits while playing. I learnt from my experience but it’s bad that I learnt the hard way. It’s always better to prevent it from happening than to allow it.

Actually not just in gambling site but when you put your bits into online platform also can be hack, right ?
We already aware that crypto is risky type of investment so when you decide to be the gambler, the risk become greater so you need extra careful on how you manage your next step !
Yes been extra careful is very important in gambling, especially because of the consistent origination of new casino sites with the intention of scamming gamblers and this is to all online sites but it doesn’t meant that Crypto is risky like you mentioned.

Cryptocurrency on the other hand is actually the safest investment you can think of if we take sentiment apart and if all crypto gamblers can be honest enough they would attest to the fact that crypto gambling is far safer and more convenient than any other gambling type you can think of.

The OP has taken out his time to list out some step to follow to avoid been scammed and I will add by saying that if we can just to be less greedy in gambling, then we would avoid so many of these mistakes.

Funny  ;D sometimes it is better to watch a football match rather than playing it... Most times when we are about to make such silly mistakes, our thinking faculty will be far from our being but either comes back when we have already taken such harmful action.

For people who don't like to play, yes, they will better to watch the match because they don't think that it will give pleasure to them. They will think that if they play, they will make something weird that they don't like and yes, it will give them feel silly or feel dumb. So they will not choose to play but only watch.

Ouch! it is very bad to hear that your friend was scammed in a gambling site. My cousin was about to scam last day. He had joined in a gambling site without a fee. At first, he received 18$. He want to add it up because it needs high fees which will deduct to his price. There is a lottery and he gamble his money. Afterwards, he won almost 700$. Yes, a big price. But he needs to activate his account first before he get his money.

PS. Activating of account cost 300$. It was a scam I told him.

I agree. Once money is directly involved, we should learn not to be careless but very careful on the coins we have invested it or on the gambling sites we placed our money. If we really know how to value our hard earned money, then we must seek first the advice of professional gamblers if a certain site is legit or not. It's still good to play safe and secured than to lose your money all of a sudden because of being dumb.

This is one of the reasons I don't jump on random sites and I don't like gambling with sites that doesn't have any reputation online. If you search on Google for the top ten crypto gambling sites you will see a lot of them like Fortune Jack, 7 Bit Casino, Cloud Bet and Sportsbet.io and the rest of them that has been around for quite a long and has got a very good reputation for themselves.

When I was a newbie, everything I want to go for I always make a research on the top ten in the market. Even as a trader I always go for the top ten exchanges, so the same strategy goes for the gambling sites as well. No one should make the mistake of putting their money in an unknown cause they will end up being scammed.

Indeed. Scam sites are scattered everywhere in the vast world wide web or basically the internet so we must be not just a responsible gambler but also be a good and responsible web user on taking further researches, reviews from other people who have experience on the site before jumping into making decisions that you will just regret at the end. Do not be easily deceived on the things that are fascinating for your eyes. Better check it first thoroughly before getting into it. Good thing that I have got into the same trust-able and famous crypto casino which is Vegas casino wherein I do play variety of games like poker, slots, roulette and many more and have already experienced their great deals of bonuses every time I am doing my deposits in terms of Bitcoin into it.

Are we talking about the players here?

I mean if you are a player of a team I don't think betting on their games or even gambling at the first place is not allowed. If you are a gambler and want to watch the team you bet on, I think that will be exciting and disappointing at the same time since in my experience, it usually ends up making wrong plays but sometimes won in the end.

I'm very sure that your friend is plain lazy or naive that scams are always present in the virtual world. Nowadays, people look for proof for some sites before they try it. But I just don't get if he gets hacked by phishing or deposited that amount then never got to use it to bet and gamble.

I do agree. In the vast society of the worldwide web users, many sites have already scattered around which aims to deceive other people for the sake of gaining money from other people just for their own good which is a bad etiquette in using the internet. I do also agree that we netizens or internet users must be responsible into our actions by thinking wisely before doing such actions such as clicking anonymous links from a stranger or those that just pops up from different sites. Be aware that not all sites are reliable so better be careful on clicking to avoid being scammed. Asking from massive media such as this forum or finding reviews about the gambling site you wish to get engage is a great move to do to better know the site. Good thing that I am also have gotten into a trusted and famous crypto casino like you do which is Vegas casino wherein I also enjoy playing variety of games they have like poker, slots, roulette and many more in proper moderation as well as their great deals of bonuses for doing deposits and having live dealers which can make you assure of your safety while having fun playing gambling conveniently.

Let’s try not to be too fast at judging other peoples mistakes. Yes he made a mistake and had admitted but calling names is uncalled for.

Everyone likes Bonus offers and I am very sure you are not alone on these. Who wouldn’t want an increase bankroll? I have not really been paying attention to customer support as long as I am so sure that the site is trustworthy and I don’t always envisage to be in a tight corner where I would need urgent response from the site, I should start putting this into consideration.

Most of the crypto sites I know these days offer instant payment and withdrawal and they have really been making online gambling much easier and faster and you are all wise to consider a site that is mobile friendly. This is just me in you lol.

If you knew how to do a good research even while you were a newbie, then I do not see any reason why old members of the forum should be falling victim of scam sites, I think some newbies are even becoming wiser players than some of our old members and the reason for this is always greed. Some players don’t even care if a site has reputation or not, they don’t give a damn if it is an unknown site, all they is the bonus offers, the promotions and other promises and this is not right at all.

So, they end up been scammed by   these sites and then everyone tags gambling as a bad thing, meanwhile there are still genuine sites all over.

The quest for high bonus is what always trick people into gambling on a wrong website, I once stumbled on a gambling platform that offer 100% bonus on every deposits but when I went further to research about the site it turns out that before you withdrew from the sites you will have to go through KYC which in most times are never processed and approved.

Identifying difference between fake and original gambling websites have always been a tedious task because even most of the legit gambling sites look like a complete crap while some fake websites are so nicely created that give an impression of a huge casino. I think ensuring the longevity of the period for which the site has been active is the best indicator of its trustworthiness. Moreover Scams & accusation section of the forum is a place you can easily find out about any fake websites which already have duped money of investors. and yes not to forget never keep a lot of money on gambling websites even if you trust it the most. Immediately add or withdraw money from your wallets or exchanges.

Gambling might be uncertain but once you have some good ways to getting things done, you are no longer a dumb gambler.
I think those who gamble for fun do not really have problem, the major problem is with those money hunters, those of us that play for fun understand how to play the game. You will never see anyone who gambles for fun play foolishly because it’s just a game of entertainment and we know that entertainment does not take so much capital.

I am a salary earner and I have a certain amount of money I spare monthly for entertainment, it’s from these money I set out a part to gamble, so would I ever get excessive capital to play around with in such game? I think we should always let people know how gambling should be done, which is play for entertainment.

The quest for high bonus is what always trick people into gambling on a wrong website, I once stumbled on a gambling platform that offer 100% bonus on every deposits but when I went further to research about the site it turns out that before you withdrew from the sites you will have to go through KYC which in most times are never processed and approved.

Research is a must before anyone gambles on any unknown or new website. Their would be too much lucrative offered that would be shown or in starting would be even given but then in the end when you gamble over some time you would realize that you would lose majorly and then those are rigged on the sites where your winning is ensured that you end up losing

That is impressive. Advertisement is a very great way to trick human mind and that is what happens with so many people in the market. They are attracted towards the kind of branded things which reflects luxury and this is the trick here. Influx of every new gambler in crypto is a profit for the company’s site you are gambling on so yeah, one should rather be a wise than a dumb gambler.

Those new gamblers are need to learn about gambling in this forum itself.
Else if there is any specialized forum for gambling you may use that and learn for your own skill learning.

Winning or loosing take gambling as enjoying nothing more than that.

Something fishy going here why your friend choose to forget the name of the site, the site will scam more people if this kind of people will just let things be and do not report, we have a scam section and this is to warn about the reputation of any site, we must become responsible and help people by avoiding these scam sites.

Yes definitely the functionality and the connection between Gamblers is little bit difficult in all situation but it is not needed for the gambling field if we do everything which is the connection between everyone then it will definitely be the best way to make that field to be developed.

It can happen if you make an account on a totally new site and then at some point you realize that you are being scammed. You tend to close the site and move on, without caring that you have lost / got scam by that site. Although it is better that we share our experience here so that other people are saved from such scam sites.

It's true and since then my vigilance in using the internet has been increasing because negligence in entering a website will have a bad impact on us even though it's not always about money. Be a smart gambler at the start even though you don't have the skills to bet but at least you won't lose money at the start even before betting.

Thank you for sharing your friend's story OP. It's really helpful to give awareness to newbie gamblers or either from the people that are already gambling for a long time. I would just like to add that before gambling into a certain site, check how long it runs and check if there are issues on it ie. Not able to withdraw funds, some accounts get locked for no reason, and etc.

Dont let our greediness and dumbness takes over our financial life.

Well said.

1. Gambling is for entertainment purposes only and is not a way to generate an income.
2. Don't gamble with money that you can't afford to lose.
3. Read plenty of reviews about any site before you trust it with your money.
4. Greed is bad.

That is why I never just randomly click on websites and try new gambling sites. Sending that amount of money in an unknown gambling site is not a good idea. Well, let this be a lesson to your friend. Never ever enter a gambling site without even looking for reviews, feedbacks or even testing it with a small amount.

That's true, scams are everywhere and scammers are doing everything just to get other people's money and that includes creating websites/gambling sites that offers very good promotions to entice people. I guess, the friend didn't do any research and read the reviews that's why he got scammed.

Reviews are important, but you have to ensure if the source are reliable, if yes ,then you can proceed.
Old sites are reliable, and games are almost the same with the new one, and even better as they have stayed longer and continuously developing their platform. It does not take much of our time if we do some research before gambling, compared the risk we will face if we will not make a research.

That could be true. He can use random gambling site, or he is making a list but not for a share in public, so we don't know what the site names are. But I think we will not get a scam if we can choose a recommended gambling website from many members here because they will always give and share the good gambling site so we can prevent from the scam.

After i post this topic i ask my friend if he could check his browser history. He then tell me that he was browsing illegally in his office, Its still office hours and its prohibited thats why he uses the incognito tab. He then said he remembered one word which is dice and the color of the button is yellow. Im sorry i cant tell the site but neither i didnt know. Im just telling this to be a lesson so that future first time gamblers wont do the mistake again.
Lol, the moral of the story is "Don't gamble while working" :). He can't concentrate on the things that he want to do as it is not his property. If you gamble you've got to focus and not just click anything and better to do it at home where you have peace of mind (away from stress of work).

I am actually pissed while he was telling me this and i almost said he deserves him well. Working hours is intended for work only and doing anything rather than that is obviously bad. Because of the danger that he can be caught, he didnt focus on what he was doing and end up getting scammed. I pity him but part of me are telling this is good and be a lesson to him.

The real question is, do you need any skills to gamble in the first place, it all depends upon luck as long as you are playing in some of the casino online, if you are playing skill based games, then it is a different thing, but the rest of the gambling depends upon luck and there is no skills involved, only thing you need is common sense on what value you are going to input or what are you planning to risk and i do not consider it as skill.

I agree with you! However, there are circumstances that we cannot be prevented. For example, we lose our money because of failed bet or we lose our money due to the gambling site. We cannot avoid to lose rather than to stay away from gambling. There is no such word as dumb people because in my opinion, we never want to lose. In fact, we enter in gambling site because of the dream that we will be doubled our money.

Never trust anyone with your coins or your security passwords etc. I mean how can you trust someone with your security keys which can lead someone to your hard work earnings? This is insane and should be discouraged. Try not to talk a lot about what you hodl in front of your friends and cut off with people who try to bring you down. Think like the Economic Hitman.

Gamblers cannot make their mind to start researching so as to find reliable sources because their mind is attracted only by gambling sites and casinos. Only those gamblers who have control over their selves can start finding other reliable sources of investment of trading either traditionally or non-traditionally. However, if you are gambling then you should try out games in which you can play using your strategies.

That happens all the time even in the real world in our everyday lives where we see normal people going bankrupt. This happens in the gambling industry but not as often as in mlm and ponzi schemes where greed is the main factor that makes these people make these bad decisions in joining scam websites.

In gambling it can happen too if you go and play in the first casino you find online without doing research first or seeing reviews and feedbacks about the casino.

That's great advice mate, but we can't really avoid certain scenario which you'll tend to become dumb after long hours of playing. Strategies might be effective at first but in prolonged time I don't expect that it's effectiveness will sustain. Gambling is always a game of chance, and if you're dealing with casinos don't ever expect winning by chance to the fullest. Because once you hit the jackpot, I am pretty sure that soon enough you'll end up loser once you go back to that place.

This story from OP sounds stranges, he doesn't even know the name of the gambling site. I would like you always do some research on a site before I was sending them any money.
When some one want only money into his pocket, he was lazy to research first
~~
In gambling it can happen too if you go and play in the first casino you find online without doing research first or seeing reviews and feedbacks about the casino.

Thanks for your clarification, i think the first thing for any gambler to do before embarking on gambling should be do a research on the casino before gamble or in the same vain check their feedback for clarification either to gamble with them or not to. Haven't seen much greediness among gamblers except from the amateur ones which cannot be said that, gamblers are dumb.

Greediness will not work in gambling cause it only leads to losing our entire funds as we continue to gamble everyday.
It is our choice to put our money at risk into a certain gambling site, even though we have found it reliable and legit one but it can't be a guarantee that will help us to win. Mostly those new gamblers will easily lose themself and getting dumb cause they'll never expect how gambling makes them crazy especially when they are addicted into this.

You got the right. Make research will give you an answer if the gambling site is good enough for you to play or not, and besides, you can play without any worry if the site scams you. But I think if you can see on here, you will find so many gambling websites which many members recommended because they already use the site to play for a long time before.

Normally new gamblers get scam by such new sites. They invest in sites without any research or feedback. Those who are experienced, never invest in any casino where there is any chance of getting scam. They only invest in trusted casino or sites which have many positive reviews and ratings.

That is why I never just randomly click on websites and try new gambling sites. Sending that amount of money in an unknown gambling site is not a good idea. Well, let this be a lesson to your friend. Never ever enter a gambling site without even looking for reviews, feedbacks or even testing it with a small amount.
I agree, before you click the sites just think well if its really true or dont believe yet, just find out first if that sites is not a scam so that your money will not be lost. Never risk your money on not familiar sites.

But there's nothing wrong when you want to try something new, doing a little research early before making a deposit is really necessary and when everything looks good then it should be fine. But when you can't make a research, then at least you have got a recommendation from a trusted person so that everything will stay good so that there is no regret in the end.

Why your friend cant remember the name? It would be better if you dont missed the name so others will be cautious to avoid the particular site.

Nevertheless its better to only gamble in reputed gambling sites.

To make sure its genuine, read a reviews or any other information that can help you to verify their legitimacy.

You got it right and you do really have the point.Trying out something new isn't really that bad and also if you cant make
any searches that you are looking for like getting some feedbacks and if you do really want to try it badly then you can always
make a deposit on the minimal amount and then test it out if they are paying out or not but expect for these funds to be lost already.

Yeah I have wonder about that too since when you get scammed then obviously one would take the details of the website for future references like reporting the gambling site, or spreading awareness among gamblers and the possible to take for a refund by the gambling site but this is case to case basis.

This kind of topics always start with "my friend"! What`s the point in sharing stories from other people, don`t you have your own to share? Mistakes in gambling are common thing, it happens excitement to carry you and you slip, it`s part of the game.
Some people lose a lot, they come back and win much more than they lost. There are people that lose most of the time, gambling is not for everyone, but as long as you have money for spending you can participate, and after that I don`t like to hear crying, you tried and failed, get yourself together and continue with your life.

Many of the new guys do not do that and end up losing money which is bad. One way to know if the site is good is to go through the reviews about the site and you could also get information from certain groups on social media. Even this forum is an instant source of information with people from all over the world. And last but not the least, there is competition in the market among companies providing homogenous services and the competition stand the best out.

I'm afraid to admit that most of the gamblers are really dumb. Having told them so many time of not to be greedy and never play with emotions and do not go all in, they never listen. They do all these mistakes and then when they make a big loss they start crying and say bad things about the gambling. They do not realize that most of the loses in gambling are due to our greediness and mistakes.

If he got scam of that sites, then saying goodbye to that ammount $200. Its already a big amount to bet like a newbie,  then if its true that he got scam but why he easly forgot that sites, it is imposible to forget easly. How he will be aware to that sites next time if he forget that site, Then, its important to give review frist the sites before you deposit & play online gambling. because there's a lot of scam sites.

Why someone should put money on unknown site especially if it's related with gambling. Lot of scammers around us and they know we are much greedy. Yes, it is not only in gambling, awareness must be increased in all aspects when we are in cyberspace. There are many fraud attempts by irresponsible people who will certainly make their victims suffer. So, we have to check the site correctly, even for the spelling of the site's name, to ensure that we will not face a bad experience. And after we find the right link, we should mark it for future use.

Exactly, bonus in casinos are random and if in case they decide to offer bonuses it's not that big so if a casino or a gambling site offers big bonus you should step back and think twice, is the bonus too good to be legit are what, if it is too good for a bonus then don't jump right to end because you will only loss money. Research should be done first before entering into something to make sure you don't put your money on something that is a scam.

Gamblers are always being clever than other people so we cannot say such camels have not been using the proper way to become the good person and they are also being using this for entertainment in most of the time some peoples only doing it for money making.

If gamblers play for fun or have control then everything is better for them else this event could turn into nightmare for people as it has happened to many who get addictive or keep on losing money in gambling and still gamble a lot.

1. Dont click and browse non recognized site to avoid phishing.
That's the lesson I've learned after I've clicked the referral link just last week and signed up without further thinking that I was actually clicking a phishing site. They hacked my account, it was too fast and my balance was also transferred to their account. We have to be  careful in opening sites to avoid situation like what I have experienced.

Quote
3. Dont put too much money on that site so if ever its really a scam, the amount it can get is minimal.

True. I also do not put high amount of money in my account. That is why the hacker only took few bucks and few coins from me and some of them are from the faucets only. Good thing I didn't deposit huge amount back then.

Quote
4. If it looks really legit, try some few games with few bets at first.

Betting can't determine if it is legit or not. But if you can withdraw your profits then it is legit. I've seen some gambling sites that wasn't able to withdraw after you have big wins.

there is no difference at all bettween the gamblers that plays for fun because they can still loose money if they play in a longer time  .they can still loose thier control and become addicted on the game if they want more pleasure  but this is a totally different story from what the op is explaining . addiction and playing a gambing alone has nothing to do with being dumb  .  plus if ever you got scamed or get phished  , thats not what you call a dumbness but its an accident  . all of us experienced that  but we should not do the same mistakes again and again  as that will result to dumbness .

I am not sure if a smart gambler who has a secret method can win the games and beat the casino because as you said, the casino will be the winner in the long run. If we push ourselves to continue the games and use more money because we hope to win the games, then we could be dumb because we cannot expect to win in every round.

To be a smart gambler, we need to use some money, better to make a limit of the money, limit our time on how long we need to stay, leave the gambling places if we got lose in more than 5 times as soon as possible, so we don't get more losses.

Before you try a new or old gambling casino websites it's much better to find first the user reviews of the people who started using it because with this way you just give yourself a stress free mind but of course you must still be vigilant because even user reviews can be fake out.

I agree with that, we can find their Announcement in this board, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=56.0 if they have, and we will surely get honest information as we have reputable members in the forum who also give feedback in the gambling section.

We might as well check the scam accusation if they have a history or unresolved scam accusations. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0)

However I would also stress the flawed judgement of some people which make them think a site to be scam. Your judgement about a site also needs to be good in order to come to a verdict. Of course since you are dealing with money even the slightest doubt should make you go away from that site, even then those who are analyzing these new sites for evaluation should have a stable unbiased mind.

Many times I have seen accusations based on nothing but assumptions and some idiots even follow that. Its because they are all disgruntled addicted gamblers who lost their money while gambling it. Instead of blaming themselves they blame the casino.

Sometimes feedback cannot guarantee if the gambling site is legit or not because they can buy the feedback from the other third party. They can find good feedback on the dark market at a cheap price so they can fake the feedback, and the website will look legit in the visitor's eyes.

But the real feedback is created from the loyal member, and that cannot be fake by any third party because the feedback will be pure from the member itself.

Agree, it is good to read the reviews to check if the gambling site is legit or a scam, I don’t think it would take much of your time read the reviews to make sure you are entering a legit gambling site rather than depositing right away and in the end you will lose your deposit without betting. Safety and security should come first before anything else.

Feedbacks coming from a real users and not just from the trolls since we know that its easy to have a paid reviews nowadays. Gambling site should be more open for this, and they should publicly listed all the reviews because its important. Don’t be dumb looking for fake reviews, its useless do gambling on trusted sites.

Always to be sure about sites you'll be going to use, as it will gives you more confidence when you are depositing your balance, it's far better than having some worries when playing inside the house that you are not fully trusting the owners behind, those reviews will help you to figure this things out.

That's a good advice. Smart gambler always checks a feedbacks and detailed information about gambling site before making a deposit. It's the same thing with exchanges.

In any case, you need to use only natural resources, because someone can cash in on your account.  It is better to pay attention already to reputable players who know where to earn or spend your money profitably.

Feedbacks arent that trustable at all because of those fake reviews but i guess if that will be rated on the third party like on this forum rather than on site, this feedback would be helpful. You can be scam just by clicking some links so better not trust the link first before the reviews.

I have similarly experienced with your friends and it's on telegram, anyway, due diligence is very important Cryptocurrency is decentralized when you sent it that's it no third party for you to file a protest, it is important that we are educated on how scammer works just like how we educated ourselves on how cryptocurrency works.

Probably that is one thing that the gambler would learn after getting in scam sites or getting into malware that will discloses informations regarding gambling site wallet.

Yet, this is part of learnings and for sure that the guy being scam has already learn his/her lesson and he/she must be careful next time.

You can never trust reviews, even on the biggest Ecommerce website: Amazon.  So many paid reviews everywhere, it is difficult to trust these companies when so much money is on the line.

Well it would be a good sight if all people are like you so that the number of scammed people will lessen, however, sad to say only a few people are like you who will go an extra effort to make a research, majority will just climb to it and regret afterwards. Our money is so precious since it is hard earned money but most of the time people get dumb whenever they are offered big returns that is why this shit happens, I just hope they’ll wake up and don’t be dumb in making decisions.

Indeed, this is very common in telegram private chat. There are a lot of scammers there keep convincing you that you can earn a profit on that gambling site by helping them but the truth is they are sending a link with a malware-infected link which is they can lead to hack once you bite a bait link. Well, just use our common sense here if we found out something fishy then block that user and never trust any given link or even in social media. Trust only here in the forum if you are a crypto gambler enthusiast.

The problem is that it does not take much capital to create a brand new gambling sites. Cheater and scammers comes up with a new scam every few weeks/days when they found that their previous scam site is not generating much traffic.

To thier benefit, the gamlers are dumb enough to get scam again and again by the same trick by the scammers.

We should study and peruse of what site are we going to open, to gain enough knowledge to deal and play the game appreciably. Thus, $200 is very huge amount to lose and it may lead to act aggressively and defintely turn into failure.

This is the reason I don't gamble with new sites.

I am afraid that it can be a fraud, a scam site. So instead of finding great sites I just stick to one. No problem, continuous gambling experiences and a lot and lots of losses, not clickbait. There are a lot of sites that are already trusted by a lot of gamblers, let's just stick to those sites. It is not a problem to find sites but always remembers that you should be able to afford gambling.

Well, when you are a newbie especially in things like this you can easily get attracted on this kind if investments.

I remember my relative who met a random person online and saying that she can earn I think around 10-15% monthly if she invest on their company. We told already that its a scam but she continued to invest until she invested $2000. Cut the story short, she got scammed and now paying the debts she borrowed.

Only naive people will fall the trap like this because of scammers will always seeking those weak and greedy people that wanted easy money which can trigger and easy to fool from bad people. If you are an enthusiast in gambling that related crypto don't trust someone online. There are sites that give an honest review on gambling site or just either here in the forum it could help you if you are going to use the search button bar. Even we are risk taker on gambler but first our responsibility to conduct investigations before investing/deposit in a gambling site.

People should avoid unknown site to gamble, first even if find new website and should search review if there is any to see if is legit or no, and if can't find nothing about it should post somewhere to see if someone know something about that site and if no one know should gamble on a known site.
