My friend recently get scammed by a gambling site which he found by continuously browsing. On internet. Sorry but even he cant remember the name so i cant tell you but here's what you wouldnt do. He said he was searching about how cryptocurrency gambling work. He is much aware about bitcoin but not about using it for gambling. He find some "yellow botton" he said which offers gambling for newbies and the rest is history. Goodbye $200 . yes thats kinda bit small but should you wait that it happened to you with a bigger amount? Here's what you would do.
1. Dont click and browse non recognized site to avoid phishing.
2.. Always ask first the people on this forum whether the site is legit or not.
3. Dont put too much money on that site so if ever its really a scam, the amount it can get is minimal.
4. If it looks really legit, try some few games with few bets at first.

Being cautious costs less than not being aware at all. Dont let our greediness and dumbness takes over our financial life. Be safe people.

Blindly clicking and following any link while on the internet can put us in a less comfortable position especially when we use the same devices we use to store our cryptos. For crypto gambling, it would be better to surf this forum for the better result instead of searching it via google.

I dont understand how he forgot the name of the website, where he put his money. Im sorry but I have to say he is too dumb in terms of investment, and he wants to gamble? Thats a complete disaster. He'll end up on the streets if he keep on doing that. Anyway, there are a lot of trusted gambling website, why would someone choose to put their money in a newly created website? I feel sorry for him btw.
Like his friend has said, maybe he is too rich that losing money is notting . Imagine op saying $200 "is a bit small" that means to them remembering of the website or the gambling site is notting.  If someone scam you and you what to open a thread like this it good you asked your friend to Check his broswer history as he can get everything there.

Exactly, checking and verifying the site will enhance our knowledge to decide on which site is liable to be penetrated, because people who are lack of wisdom in gambling is feasible to attached from acting aggressiveness that may lead to loses. But we can rid from loses, being wise for every deliberation we take is the most appreciable way.

My only opinion is don't get involved in this field by the influence our by the force of someone because playing your own game only give you to the satisfaction about what you have done it was also your loss otherwise it will definitely give pressure on your mind.

I refuse to play on many new gambling site because of afraid from being scammed, so I just want to play on the trusted site for years now which gives me more confident to play. Gamblers should not think for any rewards at first, you need to know the gambling site if its legit or not. Don't ever forget where is your money, you have to monitor it.

If he is aware of bitcoin, then why is it still looking for gambling sites out there that are not necessarily true or scam. At least if he is aware of bitcoin then he realizes there is bitcoin gambling which is indeed widely available here. After all, clicking carelessly the link will only allow you to go deeper into a phishing site and I have left things like this for a long time with caution and not carelessly clicking on any link and it's obviously dangerous.
Being aware of bitcoin does not mean that person will automatically be aware of crypto currency gambling sites. Yeah, he may have heard about crypto casinos, but that does not mean that he will know which casino are legit and which ones aren't. Isn't it a good practice to find out about something before you use it specially if will involves money?

None of these crypto gambling sites are entirely safe.  If you want safe gambling go to a regular casino in real life that has many laws that they have to follow.  There is just too much risk to gamble with crypto online.

Googling isn't even a good way to source for trusted sites. He should have at least gone through the site review on reputable review sites..
Bitcointalk would have been best for him but not everyone knows about the forum

I am not a dumb gambler by any means which is why I dont lose very much money with this form of entertainment.
I consider a dumb gambler a person who gambles daily on anything they can get their hands on.
Regarding your friend who doesnt remember which site he lost his money at make sure next time he you do your research.
There are way too many scam sites in this area thats its worth your extra time to make sure its a legit site.

It was your friend's fault because he didn't recognize more about gambling sites, I just regretted that with so many blind people like that by going to fraudulent sites, maybe by doing research first or looking for good gambling site references in the forum this and it's clear that you provide knowledge and others, so be careful, don't try it in gambling, select sites that clearly exist.

It should be a good idea to tell your friend to install an adblocker  at this point as it looks like he followed a bogus site

Wouldn't agree more but another solution would be using a good web browser..Some web browsers like yandex usually warn of any possible phishing potential from websites which could save you from this loss.

2.. Always ask first the people on this forum whether the site is legit or not.
It's easier for forum members to find legit websites using this method but for the general public out there it's all a matter of due diligence.

4. If it looks really legit, try some few games with few bets at first.
This doesn't solve the problem of avoiding a scam Roll Eyes because anything greater than a zero is a win for the scumbags.

Due diligence is the premium answer to not getting scammed.

The best way to get a trusted gambling site to me is through this forum.  We are seeing many comments and review about any online gambling here than any reviews sites online.  I will encourage us to always see what people are saying here about a particular sites a review also.

We that awareness already and I've never think that we might still be fooled again. Scammers are around us, looking for their prey and we've wanting that anyone could be fall into their hands again.
Try to dig deeper about their team, this is to know of what would be their intention and we can avoid from being scammed.

I am curious, did he really got scammed? Or did he just forget which site he put the money and now cannot retrieve it? It is almost impossible to forget a site which you placed 200$. He should have bookmarked it at least.

If he is still looking for a good gambling site, he can try the link in my signature.

Wait, what!! he can't recall the name? Anyways was he using any form of privacy browsing protocol like incognito or something because he needs to check his browser history to find those scammers. It may even help the whole community at large since that website could be tagged red.
This is one of the reasons we're being always advised to be careful the kind of websites we visit in crypto.... Sorry to your friend anyways!!

I don't get why people would choose to play on some new shady sites instead of choosing one of many well known casinos with trusted reviews and active staff? Those who do are probably new not only to gambling but also to cryptocurrencies and fall victim to scams like cloud mining clients and people who buy trading tips from youtubers Wink

It's not about not being a stupid gambler. The key is to not be stupid in life. If you are stupid online you will sooner or later lose money buying into a scam and it doesn't have to be a casino.

What if the site is an ad proposed site? I am clicking ad sites most of  the time as I am watching movies, anime, and other video clips. It directly bring you to the site whenever you click the play button? I am not aware of this and just leave it alone and continue on the process. Sometimes we just forget to put our security first, I mean it and it is my bad, the good thing is I still haven't been phished with my current activities so I am good for now.
