The only way someone can track IMEI's if you're the endbase that the IMEI is connecting to- I.E a Network operator for eg Verizon, or whatever cell tower the IMEI is pinging to?

It can but it is illegal. It can be done by changing motherboards but that alone would cost a lot and I hardly think a theif would go for that. Rest is software which I hardly think impacts actually since IMEI is hard-coded . Those X-posed frameworks and some stuffs like that which claims can change IMEI don't actually do anything to the IMEI.

This is quite interesting, if he gives perfect information about the stolen phone based on the data provided by one of the user surely he'll get more number of deals awaiting for him.

Anyhow I would like to add an incident that happened with me, I lost my mobile. Contacting several such services I was unable to track my mobile. Everywhere I got a response it needs to be complained to the respective cyber department, they only have got the right to track through imei, later filed a complaint and got back my mobile after three months of continuous tracking.

I lost my mobile but never filed a complaint as the phone was not worth more than $100. I have seen many of my friends losing their phones but none managed to get them back.

@OP, how about this. I put $10 in escrow to be released to you ( escrow fees paid by you) when cabalism13 confirms his phone was found. If not found within 7 days funds are returned to me.

Verizon (and others) sell this information. It's supposed to be used responsibly and only with the user's consent, but some malicious parties probably have access to it. That makes a 40$ offer for you to do the work... I can give you a week for telling where it is, and if I really found it I will add another 10 Bucks. To make it 50.

You don't have to worry for I'm a legit person here. Even if I don't use an escrow, funds will be sent to you once you have done the work.

P.S. I already told you, I really don't expect much because I already tried it myself. So just put it on a try, and maybe this thing can be your career. (Once I confirmed that you have just stated a location found by google by using the last seen active by one of my accounts, this offer will be automatically rejected and I assume this one is fake)

He's just begging. An escrow deal would have paid him if he was able to do the work and he knows this. He knows he won't be able to complete it and wants to scam users out of $10. If it's "only $10" then I can say the same to him.

Just by looking at his attitude, it's clear that this user is a probable scammer who is insisting that users pay him first and he won't use escrow. Don't bother to contact him without escrow.

OP, don't expect that someone will pay $10 to random new account. There is no way how you can prove that your offer is legit. You can't find phone with only knowing it's IMEI code. You're just looking for naive people who desperately need to find their phone. If your offer would be legit, you probably would give free voucher to cabalism13 to prove yourself.
Only thing that you can do with IMEI - if you lost your phone, you can request your network operator to block your IMEI and person who have your phone will be not able to use it.

I don't know that there is a service like this, but it's really good if service is really working.

Yeah, I remember I lost my phone before and I never recover it, now that I know it's only needed the IMEI no. to track, I will list down the code on my phone now. Maybe I can use your service in the future... (hopefully not) :P

You guys are also missing the part where in some parts of eastern eu and Pyccкaя Зeмля there are police officials that will sell you this service for a couple of rubles. Just keep some money and a bottle of Abrau-Durso ready with you when you request such thing and you're all set. But sadly, most often times Abrau-Durso and the money is not worth the phone you wish to track.

You sound like a pleasure to conduct business with, I highly doubt you can preform this and if you could you would be charging much more than you are, secondly you would provide a proof of concept.

But as I have told you, I'm a man of his words so paying you first will be impossible. All you have to do is rely on this post that I will make a payment for 40$ +  a 10$ Bonus from a random guy here just for my confirmation that I have found the device using your service.

I'm the only one who can prove to the public that you're doing a legit work, and make your presence somewhat relevant... So if you're not doing it, then I guess getting a customer here would be seriously fatal and its really pointless to have it bumped all the way.

It sound like total scam. A person that knows what he is doing would not have any problem on using a escrow and showing everyone that he knows what he is doing.

If he tells you he will not be earning from it anymore and everybody will be doing it. OP will be the tracker and the finder so the owner will not be breaking any law i supposed. But incase he finds its location how will the owner be able to take it back in a right way specially if the phone has passed through many hands already, I mean, stolen phones being sold.

My friend's smartphone got stolen a few months ago. I tried to help him by using google services like finding locations but it didn't work.

How accurate your services on finding the lost/stolen phone to trace the location of the theft? Would it gives the exact complete address? I don't think so
I think, if you know the IMEI of the phone, the carrier has only the power to lock the phone.
