That is cool, I would be waiting to see some of your contents being placed in this part of the forum, I am a big fan of eos and I make use of them for development, though I know that their network is not 100% perfect as we all wanted it to be, but I think it's still very good coon and in no time, we are going to see the price going high, we might see the price of eos getting to the current price of eth in the crypto market.

Thanks and yeah, I agree. The token is severely undervalued at these levels given the amount of projects developing on it, community engagement and metrics such as Tx speed and feeless Tx.

I'm not exactly an EOS fan. But I generally like a coin. Still, with the introduction of Tron, the EOS is a little bit back on track. The only difference is that the transaction fees in the Tron network are slightly higher.

There's an interesting speculation theory going around about the June 1st announcement that FB and/or Telegram might be building their cryptocurrencies on EOSIO. Thoughts?

There are no explicit Tx fees on EOS at all! Only cost of resources like RAM and CPU. But you stake your EOS tokens for those so you technically still own them at the end of the day. Tron has real Tx fees. I am not a huge fan of Tron but at marketing their project they are second to none. Justin is doing an amazing job at that!

In case this can materialize, I am sure this can put EOS on the top. At any rate, I am seeing a lot of potential here and if the team and developers behind will continue pushing for more innovations and adoption then in no time at all EOS can fly together with the top cryptocurrencies. Operating as the top alternative to Ethereum, EOS has many advantages and differences from all the other platforms. I can sense that there are more developments on this platform and it would be exciting to soon witness them.

EOS is a smart contract platform with the most used Dapps, I recall. There is controversy over its consensus mechanism - with voting for 21 block producers I recall - but I suppose actual use is what ultimately matters. My gripe is the cost to set up an account, even if just a few dollars, and the seeming complexity of setting up a wallet. I'd like a much easier user experience.

Oh you can definitely see the developments already. There are a ton of amazing dApps that have already been developed or are in the process of being developed. You can check out a list of some of them here: https://dappradar.com/rankings/protocol/eos (https://dappradar.com/rankings/protocol/eos)

Cost to set up an account is pretty negligible. It's either $1 or, in most cases, is free as a lot of projects run promos where they bear the cost of account set up and give it to you for free.

I am not a big fan of EOS, but I always keep up with its development and price. A few months ago, I bought EOS with $ 50, and only sold it last week. Yeah, still getting decent results. It might be better if we buy EOS and store it in 2 year, to reap the results. Please give your opinion. Thankz.

I highly appreciate EOS, I think it is ethereum's biggest competitor both in the present and the future. Currently there are many users of EOS applications, it that have a very well-known development team and very strong financial potential. In the future, I think EOS will grow very strong and sustainable.

There is a big and growing number of projects that either outright immigrated from ETH to EOS or developed parallel applications on EOS blockchain. That to me speaks volumes about the potential of EOS. We spoke about some of them here: https://www.eoswriter.io/676_projects-moving-to-the-eos-ecosystem.eos (https://www.eoswriter.io/676_projects-moving-to-the-eos-ecosystem.eos)

But there are many more that have indicated the move since then.

Can you explain to use why most of the token on EOS aren't listed on major exchanges despite how good the token is?

Well there are some that is listed on binance but are actually not available for deposit not trading. There are tokens I'd like to also see on exchange because I'd also like to invest due to its offer.

Well, one simple explanation I have is BTCBTCBTC  :)

I haven't checked in a while, but at the peak, Binance used to demand north of $1M to get a token listed on their exchange. Which is obscene. EOS tokens get listed on the EOS decentralized exchanges such as Newdex, WhaleEx, EOSDAQ, Bancor and others that
a) have better security reputation (customer assets aren't stored on the exchange so they are harder to steal during the hack)
b) have decent liquidity
c) have more educated consumers who understand EOS and
d) that are FREE

It costs nothing to list a token on an exchange such as WhaleEx for instance. And you get very decent liquidity for your needs.

I only participated in one project based on EOS and it seems there are not much projects using the platform in raising IEO's or ICO's. Developers still preferred Ethereum as it is more matured compared to EOS, Cardano or Tron. And there is Binance chain and it would be big in the next years to come.

Eos is full of contradictions.
I do not fully understand why it is the most active blockchain while  price remains low. https://blocktivity.info
Are those real activities or faked?
Would you mind explaining why this is so?

I guess price should be going up if more people are buying and using the cryptocurrency.

That's not true, EOS after just a year already got hundred to thousands of projects on it that they didn't even do an ICO nor IEO. You won't see then on ANN thread section on the forum because they don't need to, the eos.io foundation itself is supporting and funding projects. Most of the projects are in the gambling industry though, seem they pick the most obvious use of crypto too.

Cryptocurrencies are made for online use that includes gambling, EOS doesn't concentrate only on gambling and games there are more. You just have to check the dappradar to see that EOS is developing wide areas https://dappradar.com/rankings/protocol/eos/category/other

EOS is popular in gambling because its promoted here in the forum but if you check on thier own forum, they discuss mroe than that.

Title: Re: EOS Discussion
Post by: dimanyc on May 24, 2019, 08:44:24 PM
Target is right. Dapps on EOS started growing explosively from August 2018 mostly powered by the gambling applications. Two of them in particular: EOS Dice and EOS Bet (btw, this one migrated from Ethereum and never looked back - they grew 100x post migration). But after that there were numerous other non-gambling dapps that were developed and are being used to this day.

Gaming (not gambling) is going to be huge on EOS as multiple gaming studios are developing games on the platform: Mythical Games, ITAM, Sword & Magic, Prospectors all are developing amazing games on it. I am not even talking about High Fidelity that has a VR version of Second Life (remember that platform?) developed and running on EOS.io.

Also, Block.one just unstaked close to 10M EOS (that's close to $63M) that they are planning to spend on some major strategic initiatives that they will be discussing during the #B1June event in DC:

https://www.eoswriter.io/3317_why-did-block-one-just-unstake-9-8-million-eos.eos (https://www.eoswriter.io/3317_why-did-block-one-just-unstake-9-8-million-eos.eos)

There are certain coins that ought to be seen growing, but are either not growing or experiencing slow growth. EOS is one of such good coins that investors have not yet taken their turn on, perhaps because there is yet no major update, but very soon i envisage an outstanding growth phase. This coin will very soon compete with the top prominent coins in the crypto space.

In my case, it was a few dollars, which was still a cost, and as such serves as a potential deterrent for mass adoption. I also found the language and structure of the platform confusing - a quick glance at the explorer shows there is an owner and active key. Sure, crypto enthusiasts may brush this off, but I've been in the space for a while and that seems confusing. The industry needs to move toward simplicity to attract the masses. It needs to be something even a grandmother could navigate.

There is no such thing as "approved by the EOS Foundation". Moreover, there is no EOS Foundation per se. You might be referring to Block.one, but they are not in business of approving dApp.

As far as your question about licenses is concerned. It's true that several dApps do in fact claim that they have licenses from Curacao. I am sure there is a way to confirm that either by asking them to provide a link or by checking with some governmental institution in Curacao that issues these gambling licenses. From what I understand, however, Curacao gambling license is pretty meaningless in most jurisdictions (like US). I might be wrong on this last point though.

EOS is one of the potential crypto currency coins and can compete in the market. Of course EOS can survive in the crypto currency market because it brings tangible benefits. I consider that EOS can last a long time in the market because EOS players are actively playing EOS coins on the market. EOS supporters are EOS lovers who have EOS and play EOS on the market and for investment. EOS coins that can last a long time in the market because the demand and supply of EOS is always crowded so that EOS can survive in the market and compete with other potential coins.

Looks very interesting. Makes sense that having a voice token makes my opinion be here and doesn't have to compete to a huge number of comments votes for relevance. With just a token, a users opinion shall be read by people. Dan Larimer had once again prove himself. Excited to see how fast this  shall be realized.

EOS was the most successful ICO, they collect biggest amount of money in ICO history. But the returns werent so big, comparing with Ethereum, NXT or IOTA ICO.  :-\

Too early, they launched the mainnet on a bear market. People were also disappointed in the past when eth dropped down to $7...  ;)
It's not my favorite, but they have a very active community and are building many things fast. Comparing the usability they easily beat ethereum, the dapps are so much better.

When there is a hype about EOS I bought some and stored it in my wallet. I can not really sure if my decision back then was right. I bought it at $12/BNB last year and it dumped to $3 for how many months. Recently, I saw price improvements at $8. I just hope that the long term wait will gonna end soon and EOS will go to the moon like others are wishing.

I'm not actually an EOS fanatic but i knew it has a great potential in the market when I check at the coinmarketcap.
And nothing's wrong too if I ever buy em then hold in a long term. And as far as I know it has a promising plan for EOS
so that more investors will get attract with it, I guess.

Here i have got something update about the EOS from the developer of team block.one

Block.one Introduces “Voice” to Bring Alignment and Transparency to Social Media.

"Block.one announced Voice, a blockchain-based social media application designed with users of the platform in mind. Voice is a more transparent social media platform for the world, where the value of good content gets circulated right back into sustaining the community, not corporate bottom lines.

Voice will cultivate creation, sharing, discovery and promotion of content on social media platforms by real users, not bots and fake accounts. Through a truly self-sustaining economy of ideas, users will directly benefit from their ideas and engagement on the platform."

Earn EOS while learning about the EOSIO protocol and EOS.

Block.one has also jointly announced a collaboration with Coinbase to educate its user base on the EOSIO software through their Coinbase Earn program: "Learn EOSIO. Earn EOS."

Coinbase customers around the world can earn up to $10 worth of EOS by watching lessons and completing quizzes about EOS and the EOSIO protocol. This is an excellent opportunity to encourage the adoption of EOS and educate users on the benefits and functionality of EOSIO.

A few people get the same underwhelming feeling from the event. The production of the event was unparallel. It had an Apple announcement vibe. But the message was a bit too short. But the more I think of it, the better I feel about Voice. It's going to be the first blockchain based soc med platform truly competing against Twitter and FB that has a chance to go mass market. You will be able to incorporate it into your websites, like Medium for instance. So the comments people leave under your Medium post will actually appear on your Voice and will earn you Voice tokens. Dan has learned from his errors at Steemit and is implementing these lessons in Voice.

They are have a strategy to go after influencers and lure them away from FB, Twitter, IG onto Voice promising them a double-pay: one from the sponsorship deals that they will keep and two from earning Voice tokens for their quality content.

Also, the Coinbase listing announcement is certainly underappreciated. In particular the Coinbase Custody announcement. https://www.eoswriter.io/3494_coinbase-listing-of-eos-why-is-it-a-great-indicator.eos (https://www.eoswriter.io/3494_coinbase-listing-of-eos-why-is-it-a-great-indicator.eos)

ARE all dapps of EOS in dappradar approved by the EOS foundation?
Were do we see the list of EOS approved dapps?

There are several projects these days claiming to have license from curacao but were questioned by some individuals. I wanna know if these license are real and that approved by the EOS foundation.

Yes its the Blockone that I mean. Anyway, EOSbet.io actually a good casino site  provided a PDF file for license proof but still not enough for those that interrogate them. I'm not sure about knowing all these licenses mean from cucacao.

ARe all the EOS dapp developer known to blockone? EOSbet claim they were attending meetings with EOS.io

I am not a huge supporter of EOS, but I have some EOS in my wallet. I think this coin has the potential to increase like the other coins, but still, this coin cannot increase instantly. We need to wait for a while and always check the price on the market so we know how higher the price can increase in some periods. I don't have any prediction about this coin and I still waiting for the coin reach the higher price.

Eos is a wonderful cryptocurrency, but I do not like that it is not decentralized, and this is the basis of everything. For example, in one game, 1000 EOS was obtained by fraud, later this transaction was manually canceled.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons why EOS is not growing as expected and so many projects decide not to use the platform. Although, i would have sad that that should not be a barrier its usage, because there are other features on it that might be very usefully, such as its scalability.

Sorry, but I call BS on this. I am not aware of such instances when transactions have been cancelled. Please provide proof.

EOS is more decentralized than ETH and BTC as a result of 21 BPs and many more stand-by BPs, whereas ETH ad BTC mining is controlled by cartels of few huge players.

IF they are into transparency, how come they are not showing their team on their website?

Is the possibility of some projects where the team is working incognito becoming a scam? Its an alarming now that the project is getting attention and are distributing EOS to BET holders. It doesn't happen to just this project but also to other platform that promises dividends.

Yes i agree with you the EOS blockchain has good potential in coming future especially for decentralize application dapps platform because EOS blockchain is faster than another blockchain technology to claim my statement we can see on here https://blocktivity.info/ so in fundamental of aspects EOS is good for long term investment although there is inflation on EOS coins but it is good because just 1% inflation on EOS coins yearly.

I do like eos a lot because both the team behind it and other people work for eos a lot and there are not that many coins with that many communities behind it. Yet whenever I see people claiming eos is better than ethereum or bitcoin than I get a bit pissed about the community.

Eos is a great coin and I think it definitely has a spot in top 5 and as long as the support it has continues it should not drop from the top 5 however it is nothing more, it is not top 3 or top 2 like some people claim. It also has a fuel level where as long as people keep supporting it and build stuff around it and make a utility for it than eos gets better but the day people stop that eos will not have any utility and any reason to stay high.

They all have time, for now its another coins time, mostly for BTC though but later on it will be ETH and EOS and so on. I guess EOS just have to announce something new of their project and it will spike as well. You don't know when they'd do it so its better to just jump in the train and then wait before you exit. There's a little opinion on another good EOS wallet for you. I've been using Freewallet for a few years now, since EOS started showing some potential. The good thing is when EOS moved to its own network I didn't even feel any delayes or something the application just updated and kept on working as usual. I like Freewallet, and if you want to check another safe app to store EOS with a bunch of security stuff like multi-signature, 2FA, PIN-codes and stuff, go take a look at Freewallet (https://freewallet.org/eos-wallet). They have both mobile apps and the web one with a lot of coins and tokens in it. Another good thing is that they have kept our funds safe in their cold storage for quite a long time and no tokens got missing. And the registration is actually free because other wallets in the store are asking for some money to maintain some RAM and CPU usage.

Yup, I have hardly seen anyone talk about EOS, but I’m guessing it’s because of the DeFi that was trending this year, everyone has been busy paying attention to DeFi projects and hyping them, so no one was really giving that attention to altcoins.

Every platform has defi projects even EOS there are many defi projects like Defibox and Vigor but they are pretty much not known in the bitcoin community. It may change if there will be a big development in EOS, so far there is too little except for the number of dapps created. The only exchange solely dedicated to EOS is the newdex, there should be more if there really is a good demand for it.  Maybe it will change after this bullrun.

It will be not so high as ethereum. EOS has been loosing its demand and so many new platforms were choosing the new smartcontract platforms.
I think that EOS has no chance to compete with the new crypto or smartcontract platform. 4 billions getting wasted for nothing.

This time people have been paying all of their attention to the major coins like bitcoin or ethereum. EOS has no future.

I believe that the EOS this year will overcome the mark of $ 100 for one coin.

To be honest, EOS is a great network. The speed is great. If the developers continue to act in the same rhythm, then EOS will be successful. Yes, EOS is a worthy competitor to Ethereum with its huge fees. But this is only in perspective. Ethereum is megapopular now and is growing every day.

I have experienced with EOS before because I participated before in an EOS-based campaign. And I was in awe that there is no transfer fee from that site to the exchange. And between exchanges, you will only pay very minimal fee, and the speed is really fast as compared to other networks. So yes, if the EOS developers will manage to promote this network as much as they can, and attract projects that will be based on them, they have a good chance to grow in the market. I hope other projects will noticed their features and take it as their advantage. But of course, they are still very far from eth popularity.
