Hey guys, new to the forum!
Thinking of doing a short-term investment for fun, about 1 month or so. Was thinking I should buy either Etherum or Bitcoin Cash. I use Gemini so not all coins are available. Wanted to get some opinions from you vets :)

If it's just one month, than I would actually just go for BTC.
Bitcoin had a pretty fantastic bull run the past month and is now stabalizing in the $7000s.
After this period of stability, you should expect to see more organic growth.

It's also probably the safest investment.
The past month and ahalf, numerous times btc dropped below $7000 but immediately went back up.
This shows that the market has chosen a new bottom for btc and they aren't willing to sell it for less than $7k.

If you are using gemini, than I would recommend buying the btc then when you sell, sell it for gemini dollars.
It's the most stable, regulated, consistent stable coin out there.
Then, if you want to jump back in, it would be very easy.

ETH and BCH are both good coins to hold while the price is in the bull run but on my own, I choose ETH for much stable price increase compared to BCH.
So if you going to invest ETH is the best option because I also heard that there is an upcoming big development about this coin.

I have other suggestion RVN and Zcoin are also good coins and the price is pretty cheap compared to 2 coins above.

If you're going to invest only a month, I suggest you choose Bitcoin. A month is quite a short time. And because the altcoin prices are shaped by the increase or decrease in Bitcoin price, choosing Bitcoin will be both less risky and more logical for you. But if you only want advice for BCH or ETH, then I suggest Ethereum.

personally i like ethereum too, based on developtment progress.but for bitcoin cash unortunately i dont like with this , especially craigt wright.too many drama from him to market that make crashing.and alot of investors dislike him too.

I suggest that you buy ethereum to increase ethereum in the near future, although it may not accelerate but I see if ethereum will be the best in cryptocurrency.

well both are potential altcoins good for long term investment, but for 1 month only I suggest that you invest in Ethereum, I'm sure it will increase in a short time.

If investing in ETH vs BCH, the profit is not high compared to the rest of the market. But it is definitely a safe investment because you don't pump or dump too much

If i had to chose between those two coins i would go for ether. I just checked the supported coins on Gemini. Maybe you can also think about Litecoin, could be a good investment for mid - Longterm, too.

I would suggest you to go for ETH. Although 1 month period is very less to invest in such high volatile coin as it may come down but it may give you good profit at the same time. ETH seems to be in bull run and it may give you desired profit in one month. Pls remember investment for short period is always risky, sometime coin value decreases and you just get caught in the trap, in that situation one doesn't have other option than to wait. I see ETH as good option to invest for a short time.

I would pick Ethereum over bitcoin cash, i wouldn't ever touch bitcoin cash to be honest i probably would if it's only short term but for long term that's a no, if you want the highest return just buy bitcoin, if your goal is just to have fun why not invest on both.

Ethereum is a good pick, but over the past few weeks compared to ethereum bitcoin cash grown in a higher percentage. Still ethereum has gained the trust from users for some reason. Bitcoin cash has got a much higher ath compared to ethereum's ath. At this moment there is good growth expected with ethereum in a higher scale by the next price pumping of bitcoin.

I will suggest you to invest in eth now.Although both coin are now potential for long term investment. But you want to invest for short term about  month range. so Eth will be best IMO. because there is a spike already made by BCH but ETH did not make yet. So have a chance for a move to up by ETH. good luck

Crypto market aways follows btc, but is better to diveresify.

for short-term investments or one-month investments, in my opinion, BCH is not the right choice, you better invest in bitcoin or ethereum, because I see the current market movements are increasing on those two coins.

Decided to go with ETH. Really appreciate all the opinions guys. I'm sure I'll constantly be on here now, reading up as much as I can. (And constantly checking my Gemini app lol)

It seems to me that ethereum is perfect for both long-term and short-term investments.  I really trust him and believe that in the near future it will cost about $ 500.

One month? That's not even short-term, can't even be called an investment, what you're doing is pretty much gambling your money, but hey, to each his own.

First of all you need to track the prices of BTC. It is currently difficult to predict its price. In my experience, after the BTC price increases, both ETH and BCH will increase accordingly. So you can consider dividing your money into both coins.

I think BCH is better than ETH if you want to invest for short investment, but if you changing your mind and wanna go for long term investment i will say ethereum is much more better than BCH.

In my opinion i will choose Ethereum, but i really think is too short time to get a profit, and you should take the risks because you can also not get so much profit even if you choose BCH or ETH if price not grow.

I prefer to invest both ETH and BCH and don't forget to invest in bitcoin because bitcoin as the leader in the crypto market will get an increase so your investment value will also increase. But I think ETH and BCH need more time to see the investment will increase because both coins will always follow wherever bitcoin wants to go.

The both choices are good but I don't think if you choose for short term investment it will give you profit. Sometimes ago the both coins has met increased price more than 10% in a few days. However, for this time those prices are experiencing correction as you may look on coinmarketcap BCH has been decreasing price around 4.19% and ETH has been decreasing around 3.68%. Just suggestion for you, you can buy know with the half your capital and wait wheather the price will goes up or continue to fall, but if those price continue to fall you habe to wait till the signal price will up and you can buy it again with the half your capital.

I will rather pick up ETH for the one month investment becasue of the potentials surrounding Ethereum. Ethereum has gained much in recent few weeks and there's a bigger upgrade ahead that can stir up the price in few weeks from now, so, ethereum should be the best in my own opinion.

Not much of difference on the trend of both coins but still you can choose BCH for getting some little more profits because ethereum looks more stable even when all ther other cryptos were bumping so it might not get too much bump in the very short period and which maybe found in BCH but I never suggest you to invest on BCH for long term investment which is more risky than investing on ETH.

I prefer ethereum, because it's more stable than bitcoincash. at this time ethereuk is good enough to invest a short or long period of time. so the meaning is not only good for just 1 month, but it can be for longer than that.

The market of cryptocurrencies is no place to get your fun, if you are planning to put money in any of those coins then you need to do it because you believe the coin can go up in value, now if you are trying to test a new strategy that you have developed to see if it works you do not need to risk money to do that, you could just paper trade and see how your strategy performs in different market conditions and different coins.

The both are good for one month investment it all depends on the price you buy it and how the market turn out to be, but in my own suggestion I will advice you go for bitcoin cash due to how it price recover and increase as soon as the entire market recover. So you go for bitcoin cash for the one month period.

Or fiat. I honestly see no point to a stablecoin if all he planned to do was leave it there and invest it anyway. Stablecoins are good for exchanges without a fiat option or maybe to move between exchanges, but if just left there, I see no reason why cash wouldn't be better than a stablecoin.

Between ETH or BCH, for one month... flip a coin. That isn't really investing anyway, it's gambling. A better short-term play might be litecoin, but that'd be a 3-month or so hold based on it halvening.

It is true that long-term or short-term investments depend on the coins we buy and the subsequent price developments that will determine whether to hold or sell because basically we all want profits.
Bitcoin is indeed the right choice because the price is more stable and strong to add plus its high price.

Investing in one month between ETH and BCH, you better invest in ETH but all that can't be sure to profit dude well cause a month later we don't know which one will bring profit. You must know the risk later if you are not lucky.

You are probably going to lose your money, no matter what is your decision. You can not invest in this market for 1 month. There is no way to predict this exact timing. Just buy, and sell when your profit is nearly 10% because you are a short term investor. You are going to earn this money maybe in 1 hour or maybe in 6 months.
Short term does not mean "timing" in this market. If you have to use your money after 1 month, just don't invest it.

Eth is a stronger currency compared to bch, but it's hard to pick one, as both have a good potential on short run, if the market continues on this positive trend. If I were in doubt between these 2 options, I would split my money and pick both as an experiment.
Just to see which one perfom the best results, so I wouldn't regret later about not picking one or other.

We have seen how Eth could move and deal with every market situation. As for me, it's best for both long term and short term investment. I'm not saying that BCH doesn't have that potential but Eth is just more stable than it. But if you're looking for assurance, Btc is always a good choice.

You have the wrong approach to investing. No need to do this for fun. This must be approached with all seriousness.
If you do not want big risks, then invest either in Bitcoin or in Ethereum, they are now slowly increasing in price with minor corrections.
If you are willing to take the risk, then invest in any of the IEO projects on the exchanges.

Why you're still thinking between the two? or why you haven't thought of just buying bitcoin alone? you don't even have to think of it if these are the options that you have. Buy bitcoin first before any altcoin and IMO, I'll never buy that fork coin. Why you are interested with that fork coin that tries to label itself as bitcoin? you shouldn't support that kind of coin in the market. But if these two is you're only choice, just avoid BCH and invest to ethereum.

If I am told to choose ETH or BCH I prefer ETH because I see the ETH blockchain is more used by developers than BCH

With the past 1 month Ethereum grows 41% compare to Bitcoin Cash that only grows 33% so if we base on the numbers Ethereum would be the best to invest with.

If we don't look on the percentage growth of both coins I will still choose ETH over BCH though as an investment because I'm not a fan of an imitated Bitcoin.

I think BCH is better, because most investors are more interested in investing there, besides some time ago I found an article that says that Israel will use it for food purchases, and maybe this will have a good effect on BCH.

I prefer ethereum because it has shown good improvement, ethereum is good for short and long term investments.

We really can't tell what is going to go in a month for either Eth or BCH, for me i really think that eth has really good potential to rise in the future but not in the near future, and i don't know if btc cash will go up as well, but if you are really looking for some short term investments than i would highly consider bitcoin since it has more movements in terms of price than all the other currencies, i mean if you consider how it went from 3k to 8k in just tow months and probably will go up in the next month has well, so it is a good option.

choosing investment between BTC or BCH, I will choose BCH, I have compared prices on the last 30 days based on Coinmarketcap prices, BCH is far more profitable than ETH. make sure you buy it when prices are cheap (when falling),  otherwise you won't get anything other than the risk of loss. now is the time to invest, when prices are in the red zone. because there is a possibility that in the next few days prices will pump again.

bitcoin cash often give us opportunity from its volatility.much traders like to trades this coins,moreover if its price drop they will trying buying bch as much as possible they can.

There is one thing that needs to be pointed out and that is, investing and waiting for a good return in a month might not come to pass, you should know this space is unpredictable. Assuming all goes well as planned, I think ETH is a good one as it offers more chance of returning good profit.

both are good, but judging from the potential I still choose ethereum compared to BCH. new ethereum will go up, so holding now is a good choice. for BCH, I don't understand about this coin. so I hesitate to hold it. for sure now ethereum is the right choice in my opinion.

Ethereum is reaching a golden cross which is a very bullish sign. If it's only for 1 month then go with ethereum which will break out very soon. To hedge your bets you could go 70% ethereum and 30% bitcoin cash as that tends to pump randomly and unpredictably

With that being said, ETH will be a good choice as the team have been working hard to ensure they improve their blockchain which is a good sign for more growth of the platform thus the coin.

Yes, both coins are profitable but I've preferred to invest with BCH since Ethereum is on surge right now unlike of BCH that still in low which is the possibility that in a few days from now will have its skyrocket by then.

Cause this is the logic, if we buy coins at low there is a huge chance that it will rise up but if its already on the top, might have chances that it will fall down. But anyway, we really don't know what will happen next, will be just lucky that everything will have a moves high.

For one month, I would love to pick the Bitcoin! This is the safest investment in the crypto! However, as you mentioned your desirable coin then I recommend you to buy BCH for a month hodl purpose! This coin is not good compared with Ethereum but BCH is good to hold and earn good money than ETH. BCH growth level is stronger than Ethereum!

In my own opinion it is more practical to invest to bitcoin if you will have only do a one month investment. All we know that bitcoin is a very fast moving coin that every monent it's value may change. So if you have only one month this is worh it because even everyday you can perform trading or buying and selling coin to earn cash.

This two coin for one month, doesn't bring for you any good profits 1 month. Check BitcoinCash pump always has high than Ethereum, BitcoinCash dump was very high from 2017. But trading volume always high on Bitcoin, Bitcoin volume is more than crypto volume.

I think ETH would be a good choice. The crypto market is moving forward and ETH and BCH both coins gained a new high, which is very good for the crypto market. Though BCH is a good coin, but ETH is more stable than BCH and ETH will have a new update very soon. So, overall, ETH will be a good choice to buy and hold for a month!

I always give preference to ETH more than most altcoins, this is because the team is working and it is evident to all.

Pick both because they are all really undervalued right now and consider about bitcoin was getting a big increase more than 150% and both ethereum and BCH must do the same like what have done by bitcoin.

if I advise you to invest in Ethereum, because investing in Ethereum is more profitable than investing in Bitcoin Cash, in addition to short-term investments (1 month) I think Ethereum is also good to be a long-term investment, so if you invest in Ethereum for the short term or long term, i believe you will definitely get a profit.

if you want huge return in 1 month then you can buy eth and qkc ,req ,ins and like this coin,bch is not a great coin.so invest in your own risk but remember in 1 month you can not expect huge profit .

Both of these coins are certainly excellent for investing. Especially today all the coins are experiencing price increases. I will focus more on holding BCH in this month. I see that if the BTC is pumping, BCH is quick to respond to it. BCH rises and follows the BTC line. It is what makes me that BCH is able to give me luck.

ETH still looks promising, today has decreased due to falling bitcoin prices.
LTC don't forget, many predict good for the long term. we just wait.

if your goal of investing is just for fun, then I will tell you how to be more fun than investing in top coins, you can invest in new coins or even at the ICO because it will be more challenging and will definitely be more fun if you succeed in choosing ICO which is really good

If you want to make a one month investment, then you should try other part of crypto than just hodling your coin because it is very possible that the value of the coin might drop below the price you actually bought it in one month time and you will end up wasting your time incurring more lost to yourself. The best way to earn from crypto hodling is on long term basis, though you can try other parts like trading on exchanges, it's possible to make a lot of profit trading.

BCH got more price growth since the beginning of this year when compared to ethereum so BCH might be the wise choice if your investment time is only one month.

Well it is like you are trying to build Burj Khalifa in one month. That is not really possible my friend. Your statement shows that you are maybe a new enthusiast in the crypto market but over here, you have to be very patient, often for months and maybe years so do not try to make a million USD in one month but rather try a million times to make a million dollars.

As you know ETH and BCH also growing well so i suggect if you have more funds than buy BCH and if less than you should buy ETH.

So you hold only the coins that you are going to buy for only 1 month ? So you will not get high profit or profit. Ethereum is better but it not means once you hold it for only 1 month you can get profit but if your plan to hold it for atleast 6 months or upto 1 year you can expect high profit like 2 to 4 times of your capital or more depends on how high ethereum increase the value.

It would be better if you buy 50% for Ethereum and 50% for Bitcoin Cash. Indeed, at present, Bitcoin Cash is more interesting because the price continues to rise and reaches more than $ 400. in a short duration of only about 1 month to get a lot of profit I prefer to invest in bch than ethereum because I noticed that the bch experienced a pump so high when the market conditions were green

Though am holder of ETH, I would still recommend Bitcoin cash as a good coin to invest over Ethereum. Its performance on the market makes it a very good coin for short term and day trading

I had the same choice of investment) I chose the Ethereum coin. I have been supporting this system for a long time. To all its advantages, I note a rather good stability.

My personal opinion is that Bitcoin is better for an investment of 1 month today. The whole thing is that he too domains over cryptocurrency.  Well, out of two coins, I choose Eth, it's easier for me to use it. I can get extra eth from bounty. So I chose this particular coin in the flesh to a long-term investment.

The truth is, in this space it is hard to predict the movement of any coin. You might be expecting a good profit and all of a sudden the market turns red and remains that way for a while which will then affect your target. So, always put that in check.
Assuming everything being equal, ETH is better and have the chance of giving a good profit than BCH.

After the slight crash bitcoin cash and ethereum as a result of the bear market, these two were once again valued at the same price, but out of nowhere it's over 150% more valuable,just unbelievable....

Now if we talk about which one is a better investment based on numbers BCH is the winner.

Personally I would split my capital into two and invest ! But Incase or just a single  one , then I will advise you buy more of ethereum!

@OP, nothing should stop you from making moves of your decisions. Any of the two options (ETH of BCH) can provide you your set target. Although i would advise that you should not just limit yourself to that time frame you have set. You might be fortunate to hit you target within a week of investment and on the other way round, the time might be extended,

Check both the coin's price stats in the last two months Bitcoin cash seems to have a slight edge, but why pick between the two when there are a lot of coins performing above average than the two coins you mention, like Litecoin who is performing better until now.

If shot term investing go for ETH because its price pumping and dumping, I don't like BCH so don't invest on that coin. Hold until the end of the year, you can have at least 50% profit so think if you're going to short investing or its better to hold for long. ETH can go $500 this year, believe me because I'm also holding ETH.  ;D

in my opinion investing in ethereum is still very feasible to try to get a profit because with the stability of the sale and purchase price, surely you are not worried about the threat of loss and you can invest with a calm heart later.

In my opinion one or two month totally good coin Ethereum investment for me. In fact I would also suggest everyone try to take Ethereum. Because Ethereum is the good volume and strong currency, more larger platform and most of the biggest investors in here Ethereum. if you look at the current market situation I think you better invest with bitcoin on the other hand you also target in 1 month, unless you invest for a long time and are highly recommended with ethereum. for me, bitcoin is wrong or a coin is profitable, even now the price of bitcoin is very impressive.

Why not buy both ethereum and BCH since this two altcoins have a good project and developer inside but if you want to all in your capital just check first the chart history and price action of this two altcoin since ethereum are being popular in cryptoworld and the second largest cryptocurrency  in the market then go for this one but its not guaranty you will earn a good profit becausebthe price flow of the market are unpredictable.

And if you will just going practice and I guess you should, he is right. Go for bitcoin as it has the most volatility among all. But do take into consideration that, bitcoin is also having a huge transaction fee. But what is important is that, you can have a huge chance to earn other than utilizing a huge learning on trading to altcoins.

I agree. Ethereum is the best choice. For sure there will have a change of the price on the market though both re safe to keep. Why do not try to keep it until get profit though it less than a month, just saying. Try both if you have good amount to invest and see which coin can rise for a month.

I think it's better if the ethereum you buy holds at 1year or 6months because the potential is bigger that you can earn a longterm when you're in the short term with the possibility of lowering its price especially not the bitcoin control because the price is rapidly rising and the price is falling too quickly so if you just want to invest you will make sure your purchase of altcoins is longterm so that you will earn a great deal of hold of the longterm and have potential altcoins be careful of the choice because many scams are spreading altcoins.

It all depends from your amount of course, if you intend to invest at least a few thousand dollars, then I would invest in eth and in bch, now it’s hard to say when the next cryptocurrency growth will be, so it’s best to invest and hold at least a couple of months.

Both are good but i will prefer BCH. We all know BCH ATH in Dec 2017 ($4.355,62).So possible to comeback at that price again or more than 2017. It depend in you. You know BCH and ETH is big 3 coinmarketcap. So if you have enough money will more better to invest in both.

BCH is better than ETH if we look at both according to their current position and conditions in the market. BCH has value 397 US dollars right now while that of Ethereum is 243 US dollars which indicates that BCH has extra potential and is considered better than ETH. However, ETH has potential and can compete with BCH anytime because we have observed the price jumps of ETH in these few days.

Only one month invest won't give you anything, it's highly risky. Your investment could go down significantly in a month, but it seems ETH is a better option compared to BCH. ETH development has always been sustained, but BCH only forking and forking with new shitcoins. I'm sure it will fork again soon.

One month. I think you must consider also Bitcoin as one of the coin where you want to invest your money.

If you will choose between the two, I think Ethereum will be better compare to Bitcoin cash. Maybe you must be updated daily with these two coins because anytime they can spread a good news into the internet and that can make the price of either one of the coin rise therefore you can get a quick profit into it. Maybe you can try to invest them both with equal amount of money to invest or at least invest on both of them.

In terms of technology, Ethereum has a technology that is far superior to BCH and ETH coins still have great potential for future development. In fact, every coin has its own value and these 2 coins are very different in comparison so I can't be sure which coin will be better but if it can survive long in this market then that coin will have a higher chance of winning. I will personally choose these 2 coins as a long-term investment but will sell when I get good returns

There is risk in every investment whether it is in crypto or any real business. You have to think for a short term trade but if there is any situation of loss, you may hold for long term. Hence no one can say that a certain coin or token can give you only profits within one month.

Is your main goal to get profits/ROI? I would suggest to go with ETH as it's more stable and the technology is promising. How about splitting your portfolio in both eth and bch to get the feel of what's right?

I would definitely go for ETH, because it has not shown such a growth as BTC and it is the natural law that if BTC makes x2, ETH should make more than x2 for the same time period, but it has not happened yet.

one month I think that is a short-term investment maybe you can consider bitcoin, but if the choice between eth and bch I think eth has more potential to rise and maybe better than one month or waiting for higher prices,it can provide more profit.

If you want to go for extremely short term investment, then go for Bitcoin. Because the other coins are extremely volatile and they can go down by 20% or 30% in a week very easily. Well I would go with Ethereum. Some would say bitcoin but I say Ethereum because I think market correction is near and Bitcoin would be one of those who will be corrected greatly. If you are to win any jackpot from any coin now, it would be bitcoin, since you are hoping to try this now that bitcoin is already in its own bull run and for the fact that BTC is the dominant coin now. Other projects like ethereum is also good, but they are better held for a long term investment and not good for short term trading.

This month of may alone, I have made over $750 just trying my luck too on the pattern I see bitcoin following this month, because I see that it goes to $8k and then back to $7k which has been repeated almost like the 5th time now, I would have made more than that if I had put in more money, so I think you should try that too.

As a newbie it would be good for you to start from long term investments, not short. In one month anything can happen, but lets be real since this year prices are already pumped.

Out of those two, I would go for ETH. I don't think BCH deserves any price at all, it doesn't offer anything. ETH has a solid use-case and strong development; it looks very underpriced against bitcoin right now. BCH on the other hand should be $0, so looks very overpriced. Actually the daily trading of ethereum is very profitable without us having to wait 1 month. I've done this and it's very easy to get 1-3% profit per trade from ethereum. than you do a 1-month period.

I would not go with such new coin if I have to just to invest for 1 month. I would stay safe with the top altcoins where market is volatile and any upside movement this altcoins will fire up as those are the mainstream coins and will lead the pathway for the other coins. So chances of making money is little better and safer as others.
