We all are aware that Elon Musk has publicly stated that Dogecoin is one of his favorite cryptocurrencies. At present Dogecoin (https://coinpedia.org/news/john-mcafee-believes-dogecoin-will-go-to-the-moon/) found a new fan,
John McAfee, the most popular public figures in the crypto industry. John has agreed that Dogecoin is cryptocurrency gearing up for a big price rally.

What's your take on this, will dogecoin price surge up?

Please can you help provide us with sources were McAfee said this? Dogecoin from inception has not done well and I think investors are not also happy because it has not done well and up till now is one of the undervalued coins in the market. If big crypto enthusiasts like McAfee are now speaking about it then we should expect it to moon soon.

Dogecoin has been my favourite altcoins for long time now but its a shame I sold off too many, I'm sure it will moon when the time is right ,this will set a big example to the impatience ones in crypto space ,some coins are just too gods to let go or dump

I think people like Ilon can just be joking. See more on real projects. Now in the market there are new projects that have much more potential. For example Harmony who is already in Binanse. It is worth looking at such projects. And not to those who have already reached a height and stopped growing.

I guess I can understand Elon Musk because he is a troll inside and he is just mocking when he says dogecoin is one of his favorite coins, its not because of any technological or investment approach but because he thinks its funny and has no purpose but to just have fun, buying dogecoin for investment purposes would be super silly but using it for funding weird stuff is one of cryptos biggest amusements.

However, John Mcafee is just a pure idiot and a moron so when he says dogecoin will go to moon he probably means it and believes it himself, not because of any fundamental reason but because he is a fool. Doge may go up a bit that is for sure but that doesn't mean it will ever worth to something, its a joke money a meme money and nothing more and will never be anything more than that.

No one hates dogecoin. Everyone is the fan of this cute little coin. I can't say about Dogecoin reaching the moon but surely it would always reside in our hearts. The coin is a good place to start learning crypto. A nice tipping coin and cool coin on gambling.

Have since stopped taking his speculations seriously and do no longer make them a financial advice having lost to btc with his speculation of btc getting to $100,000 in 2018. There are other of his assumptions that I have followed that never held sway, will take CZ serious instead

first please include the source of the article. and second, I don't believe doge can go up high. You know now the price is only a few satoshi, if it's going up high there will be new rich people. maybe going up 10-20 sats is still normal. but to be able to go up high, I think it took years to reach.

My question is: what exactly is shitty about dogecoin? fkin low fees, fast transactions, high volume and very secure.... :) I use it often to transfer funds from one exchange to another cause the payout fees of the exchanges are also low compared to most of the other coins

dogecoin is a good project and I also like it, how can you call it annoying. they are widely used by crypto communities and are useful compared to other projects. can be used to send because of the low and fast fees, for saving funds because of the relatively high price, for playing games, gambling and much more that can be done with dogecoin

i will never follow mcAfee prediction again, gain big lost last year beecause of his prediction, and also its been long enough didnt hear about him, and now he appeared with some prediction.

This "shitty" coin has survived since 2013 and still has big volume as you can see at #31 place from CMC. A lot of people choose this coin for withdrawal fee since it more cheaper than other coin.

Oh.. now this loser comes up with his stupid prediction again. Till now I was viewing DOGE in a positive light. Loser McAfee will make me hate Dogecoin. The only advantage for Dogecoin is that it is having a large, loyal user community. It is like those 300,000 people in England who registered their religion as "Jedi Knight" during the census. It is a copycat of Bitcoin and doesn't have any unique features. The inventors created it for fun and never expected it to become popular.

Last year's dogecoin was at price 100 satoshi, then down again, so I strongly agreed with John McAfee about the Dogecoin going bull and go back to 100 satoshi in the near future, plus a positive comments from Elon Musk will definitely cause great interest  ;D

I hope that he will realize if doge has nothing to be answered. Doge has no update about its development and unlimited inflation will become the worst case for people that wanna invest in dogecoin. This is a really bad thing to see mcafee was shilling coin with his non sense prediction.

In my opinion he is not very wrong, perhaps there is a small exaggeration in John McAfee form of expression but somehow doge has its potential. It is an old asset and loved by all, was born in a simple way and ended up being adopted by the vast majority. To summarize, an increase in this cryptocurrency is to be expected.

John McAfee is the only one that's been very supportive about altcoins future ,he believe that altcoins season will return even when others says altcoins won't stand a chance anymore ,I believe that altcoins will still be better someday and dogecoin is part of altcoins I'm holding

I wouldn't take Elon Musk seriously, he has been too much of a funny guy as of late and he might as well be joking. I'm not so sure about John either but may be he does believe it but he believes in a lot of things that don't come true so stay safe if you choose to take his words seriously.

McAfee is known to be a joker, when it comes to predicting the possible outcome of the prices and growth of coins in the crypto space, because lots of his predictions have failed, but when it comes to Doge coin, we need no one, not even John McAfee to tell us that, because it is certain that it has the tendency to pump.

I also think DOGE is a good coin but it's not my long term pick.  I like the fast transaction, their very low fees (almost negligible), and their wallets.  But I don't  really like the project vision a great deal.  Also their updates don't really gear towards mainstream crypto adoption in my opinion.  I'm not really a big meme fan though, just saying.  I use DOGE most times to move coins from one exchange to another because of low fees.

That said, nothing really wrong with doge for what it is. Those knocking the coin as a joke, well, it was
meant as a joke. But strangely it still does have a decent purpose -- moving coins from exchanges/tipping/gambling.

I wouldn't expect doge to go to the moon and certainly wouldn't advise anyone to put their life savings into it. But it could certainly be profitable.

Of course this Dogecoin has been in the red headlines lately. I heard somewhere that speaking about crypto, Elon Musk said that Dogecoin is his favorite among all out there. McAfee has been talking thinks about Bitcoin as well that it is going to be worth a million dollar a coin in the end of the year. Maybe he is pointing at the point before Bitcoin halving.

If someone already surpassed terrible market of bitcoin in 2018, it is time to forget about altcoins. By saying forget, I meant close your account, and do other things, a few weeks later you can log in your account again, and everything will looks better. Now, looking at your balance everyday might make you so stressful. However, altcoins will rally when time comes and they will not only rally, but also boom to its higher price range.

It should not be any new thing to you that these people are just picking projects randomly to invest in and then use their popularity to shill the coin out to the public for it to gain recognition and attracts investors that will pump the coin for him to cash out thee investment he has in it. Another thing some of these public images do is to advertise for some of these projects after they get paid heavily for doing so.

For Mcafee to have come out openly to declare some support for a project that I completely know does not have much function and has not been responding to the market at all, then some dollars must have really exchanged hand. I have some doge coins, and honestly, this coin does not look promising to me at all, it looks like a project that may be dead soon, because I don’t see any activeness from the developers and the product is not really being used, lets hop what Mcafee is trying to do will help them.

I would have know to see the source of your information to actually know it's from John McAfee himself. Although I have seen his posts promoting mostly the undervalued cryptocurrencies. But I have much respect for dogecoin

This time, it looks like the effects from McAfee tweet has not been positively huge. I guess that due to unexpected effects from the potential war between the USA and Iran, beside recent news on Russian nuclear marine accident have all together force bitcoin rising and altcoins decreasing. Despite of McAfee's tweet, Dogecoin has still been a good coin and good choice to invest, for now.

I don't think doge is worthy of a long-term hold. You know coins with prices for a few satoshis are difficult to ride high, so it takes a long time to get a profit.

This claim of John McAfee is not backed by any proof according to your post. In case John McAfee really talked about Dogecoin mooning than I think its just another move to pump and dump Dogecoin. For me the coin has not been doing well for long and I don't really anything spectacular from Dogecoin.

For me Dogcoin is just like a Game reward. It may increase or decrease in price due to speculation pushing prices up to take profits. So if you are hired to advertise for it, point out the good evidence or its application for everyone to see.

I don't agree with what John said. Dogecoin is very difficult to move up because investors are less interested, let's just look at the highest price Dogecoin was last year's price as long as Dogecoin circulated, but this is just my opinion, what happens to the price of a dogecoin in the future will not be predictable.

It`s not very likely that Doge will go to the moon, with that I can`t agree, I`m much more reasonable with my predictions about Doge. 1 Doge to be 1 Dollar is what I think that we will see in a couple of years. That is a reasonable prediction, and that might happen, too the moon is pretty impossible because of the Doge supply, but if the team does something about it, things can change very fast.

Based on my previous observations for the past few years. I have already deduced that this might be another one of his "hype" things that he always do when it comes to suggesting and recommending what cryptos to buy. Hype begins and the crypto price will increase and then people buy then getting profit. But if he says that it has value then many might agree with him.

No, there will be no rapid and unjustified increase in the price of Dogecoin. I believe that this coin has already found its niche. And also its price. Yes, the price may fluctuate 2-3 times in both directions, but that's all.

Shitcoin? At least it's thousand times better than XRP, BNB and other centralized shit and stable coins. Dogecoin is one of the true decentralized project.
It has use case as well, people use it for having arbitary profit on other coin which ttansfer fee is higher and transaction speed is slow as well, specially BTC.

Everybody loves dogecoin and you have to know that. The price for dogecoin skyrocketed and it's very possible that we will see the price to the moon for dogecoin although it has pumped already.

until now I still keep this altcoin for my needs if I need it. but I didn't believe John McAfee's words especially with the hope of going to the moon. I think this is only FOMO, my observation that the price of dogecoin can only be stable at a fixed price and not more than that.

Who is supporting him? I haven't seen a lot of people here supporting John McAfee. That said, we should not be giving any sort of importance or publicity and the users should refrain from posting about crazy predictions that come from him. And regarding the murder case, the court found him guilty of the murder of Gregory Viant Faull. But many of the reporters had doubts regarding the role played by McAfee. And interestingly, the judge asked McAfee to pay $25 million in order to avoid a jail sentence. Something very fishy there...

Every year we heard a prediction like this from that guy, its kind obvious now that he is just trolling. Dodge is a good coin on its purpose, but I don't think that it will reach the moon as easy as that, or maybe he will be dodge the downtrend and goes directly to the moon. McAfee believes is useless for me, I don't listen to any FUD or HYPE coming from this guy, I don't know why but I hate the way he predicted the prices, its too exaggerated.

John McAfee unfortunately is not responsible for their words. I remember a few resonant statements that he did not fulfill. One day he even called the coins which would be a pump and they should be bought and how then turned his twitter where he posted it was broken and someone made these statements on his behalf. As for dogecoin then at this time its price has fallen a lot and I buy it

We all know that Elon Musk posted about dogecoin on April 1 and it is a fact that he intended it to be fun and nothing else as you need some fun once in a while, but his fun tweet has made some interest in the market and made the price rise, i like dogecoin and it is a fun coin and you can use that to play in gambling sites and with the amount of coins in circulation i never expect any huge rally in it.

Looking at buy walls, I believe that Dogecoin will not halt around 40 satoshis, and it might potentially move higher to the range of 50 satoshis to 60 satoshis in coming hours. I'm not really bothered what John McAfee says. I'm sure he has a more informed perspective than me, but I know that whenever he says anything it can result in a short-term price movement just by virtue of him having said it. If he says something is good, I tend not to buy in at that point as the price will already be rising with little cause.

I always think about dogecoin every time there is a newcomer or new in trading because it is one of the most stable and cheap coins in the market and we cannot consider it as a shitcoin, unlike any other coins. John McAfee is always optimistic about cryptocurrency or about any coin in the cryptocurrency so for me, his statement for dogecoin is pretty normal to me.
The listing in binance is the one that will be the reason why dogecoin can come up to the moon.

Well, aside from what John McAfee said, personally, Dogecoin has become one of my favorite coins so far. Well, this may still have a very low price. But in some exchanges, this altcoin really has big trading volume, so we can still use this chance to get profits.

Why do you think it is not useful to the community? It has been so many years and doge survive the crypto market because it is one of the altcoins most used for the transfer of coins from one exchange to another because of the cheap tx fee and relatively fast transaction. And binance had seen the potential of doge in the crypto market why they finally added it in their trading list.

Are there possibilities that adding this coin to Binance will change the price? Or just because they add it to Binance the price surge up a little bit? McAfee was just speculating and everyone does, maybe he just saw it according to the current condition of the market. But it's not that enough to make me believe why he was into this coin. Not a wrong idea to consider doge as a favorite coin of a crypto investor. I also have doge coins and so far this coin never disappointed me. Also, the doge coin pumped when it alteady listed to binance exchange. Doge is still worthy coin no doubt it is still good to buy those.

I personally believe that McAfee likes to create a hype when investing to a certain coin. I think he already suggested and promoted some coins in the past years and possibly have profited from it. If you have almost superstar status and you are trying to profit from some coins then you can make some marketing campaigns like telling many people to invest in this coin and when the hype occurs then you sell it. It's the reality that doge has been made as a meme but luckily our meme coin has been faster than other known coins. I've using dogecoin for some of my transfers because it's faster and cheaper. But when I don't have dogecoin anymore I usually go back to the traditional payment method which I don't have to convert anymore and use bitcoin as normal transfer. I don't hate dogecoin and others will agree to me too. Dogecoin is such a good project and better than the new ones.

I'm afraid a couple of people mentioning Dogecoin is not enough for its price to soar high. And John McAfee has always been mentioning one altcoin after another every once in a while. Aside from Dogecoin, he has already promoted Docademic, Apollo, Electroneum, Tron, Factom, Burst, and several more others. I don't know if he has really looked deeply into their products but the impression to some people is that he's only tapped to cause some hype around the coin or at most pump. But it has not necessarily followed.

In my opinion, McAfee is dead wrong for many reasons. First of all, Dogecoin is a hyper-inflated cryptocurrency with billions of coins circulating in supply. Second, it's highly inactive in development and innovation. Third, its transaction activity is very low compared with other popular cryptocurrencies on the market. All of these factors greatly limit Dogecoin's ability to rise in price exponentially within the future.

Of course, it's good to be optimistic for any cryptocurrency. John McAfee is known to promote crypto in many ways in order to increase its adoption within the mainstream world. But, his predictions seem widely unrealistic. It seems nearly impossible for Dogecoin to reach the moon in the future. I think I have heard of this before and I think it is still too early to speculate about the performance of dogecoin. Specially if these endorsements are coming from big monied personalities like Elon and McAfee. Dogecoin has been around for many years now and it is going to be a long long ride before the coin will reach a good price that can be profited by many people.

The world of cryptocurrency is always a surprise and a lot of unexpected things that we absolutely cannot predict and if a big figure like Elon Musk and McAfee responds to one of the altcoins and it turns out they like Dogecoin as a result the value of this coin will someday be very high and more and more who like it.

I have the same sentiments towards doge also. This is the altcoin I always go for whenever I need to transfer money from one exchange to another. And yes, this might be also the reason why even small exchanges list doge as it is one of the most common altcoins among exchanges, which you can trade easily. Even if the developments are at halt, still the use case of doge in trading and transferring purposes are still significant.

Many coins will go to the moon someday, but when? ;D Actually there is a practical reason for the Doge usage. Liquidity, it's listed on many exchanges and the fees are low. Not only the network fees, but the ones charged by exchanges for withdrawals. High fees taken from eth and btc make small transfers impracticable. Well.. the problem is that no one takes him seriously anymore. During the ICO boom, some of the scam projects hired him as a promoter. He managed to attract some investment, but in the end those projects flopped as they didn't had any solid logic. Those who invested lost their money and the ICO team vanished with whatever they could collect from the investors. Loser McAfee maintained a low profile for sometime after that, but his greed for more money got him out of his cave during the first quarter of 2019.

People giving McAfee credit that he does not deserve. I do not take him serious in cryptocurrency and I do not believe his credibility is anything. He is a part of what crashed bitcoin last year with his fud.

I for one accept that McAfee likes to make a promotion when contributing to a specific coin. I think he previously proposed and advanced a few coins in the previous years and conceivably have benefitted from it. On the off chance that you have nearly genius status and you are attempting to benefit from certain coins then you can make some showcasing efforts like advising numerous individuals to put resources into this coin and when the publicity happens then you sell it. The jester Elon Musk on April 1 had a much greater influence on the price of Dogecoin. Moreover, if the price of a coin grows, then this growth will be short-lived.

It can show growth only as a result of some short-term hype, which can begin at any moment as a result of some statement by some famous person. For me, this is not a serious coin, depending on the hype around it, so you should not expect big growth from it or regard it as an investment asset.

If you notice, Dogecoin is not a good long-term investment because of its limitless supply. It may not grow that much in price, but it could grow in user adoption over time. As an investors our own jurisdiction and decisions would be the final but somehow these things are been mainly affected by those personalities who do keep telling things into a certain coin and now we are talking about DOGE which we have seen that there were no further developments on this one but somehow it do able to manage to be mainly traded

I think there is no strong evidence to support all statements made by John McAfee, until now the price of doge coin continues to fall around 0.0034 USD and it seems very unlikely to reach $1 by the end of this year, especially if we see an adequate amount of doge coin supply big so, it's impossible if the doge coin price increase will happen in the near future and honestly if I don't believe what John McAfee said and in my opinion, it's just bullshit and can't be trusted at all.

McAfee seems to be "hyping" most cryptocurrencies lately, probably because he's getting paid in return. He came with a wild prediction about Dogecoin, not truly understanding the economics of the same. I believe that, an unlimited supply cryptocurrency could never gain traction across the crypto market. Not to mention, the inactivity in development and innovation will make matters worse. Dogecoin has such traits as it's only useful for daily payments rather than a store of value like Bitcoin is. Of course, crypto land behaves in many strange and bizarre ways. But, the dream of Dogecoin reaching the moon, seems too far from becoming a reality anytime soon.

In the bright side, McAfee's comments would trigger a massive adoption for Dogecoin within the mainstream world. It may not rise in price, but it could rise in user adoption becoming stronger each day. Compared with popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, Dogecoin has an advantage over processing micropayments worldwide because of its inexpensiveness and quick transaction confirmation times. In the end, Dogecoin will continue to be used as a cryptocurrency for daily transactions, while big players like Bitcoin and Ethereum will be used more as a store of value than anything else. Time will tell us, whenever Dogecoin will experience a resurrection in development or not. Just my opinion :)

I'm not a fan of dogecoin but we don't know what will happen in the future but in my own opinion maybe yes and maybe no. Once the influential people endorse dogecoin I think it will become popular but if not for sure it will be stabled as it is.

I do not think we need them to pump the price since people use it daily to transfer their asset from one exchange to another. Dogecoin is not just normal coin, it has been here for a long of time and it can be considered as ETH competitor in term of the daily transaction. And the most important thing of all of it is, the coin has been distributed widely to many people. So the price is more stable compared to the other.

While he's prediction is somewhat wrong, it's interesting to see how Dogecoin pumped up a little after his comments. We all know that Dogecoin won't go to the moon in terms of price, but it could in terms of user adoption.

But it has impressively managed to survive in the market for a long time. Dogecoin's highly-inflationary design would prevent it from reaching new ATHs in the future. Even if a new development team doesn't become interested in Dogecoin, we could do our part by burning a certain number of DOGE each time in order to reduce its supply. John Mcafee is nothing but an idiot who has promised to eat his dick off and don't judge me but I would love to seem him doing that. He is nothing but a crypto enthusiast just like you and us the only difference is that we use our brains a bit and he doesn't. Earlier I used to think of him as an intelligent investor but all he does is buy a coin and then make statements regarding it. Whilst enjoying his normal routine life daily. Coming to doge coin it is one of the oldest altcoins and best altcoin to be used as medium of exchange due to low transaction fees. So it's definitely going to have some value in future.

It seems very unlikely that Dogecoin will reach a high price within the future. Dogecoin has never been on a list of top coins for me and I definitely don't believe McAfee's predictions. If you decide to invest in some coin, your decision should be made according to research you made, but not according to words of some famous person.

2017 was the good year but nowadays the market conditions have changed. The market expectations have changed too and Dogecoin surged to higher prices. The HYPE can turn to the negative side and flash crash can cause more pressure on the market prices. Dogecoin is used for speculation and the use case is usually for withdrawing from exchanges with lower commissions.

I think DOGE coin was just one of those early MEME coins that took off and collected many fans. I think dogecoin is already doing fine. Doge started with nothing but a joke, no roadmap ,no use cases nothing. But people started to like it and its now one of the popular coin at the market. Nope, it's not and I don't think a lot of people realize that doge isn't one of the 'bad' coins.  Sure, it's based on a meme and has crazy inflation built into it, but it could be very useful as a currency if merchants would just accept it as payment.  There are *so* many coins with much less potential than doge, and most of them don't have nearly the number of fanatical supporters that doge does.

Nobody cares about what John McAfee says about Dogecoin. John McAfee made so many altcoin shills in the past which end up dead and scamming his followers on social media more especially Twitter. Why not say Dogecoin is a good altcoin that is worth investing may be the price will double or triple in the future? I think that would be better post to create a huge discussion.

This is mostly because, Dogecoin is useful for trading and performing micropayments at a fraction of the cost. I don't think that it's being manipulated more than some other cryptocurrencies on the market. Whales prefer the "big" cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum due to higher liquidity on the market.

Maybe McAfee said nice things about Dogecoin, because he has invested heavily into it. With his positive comments, Dogecoin could rise in price at least in the short term. At least that happened, but the gains were not as much as we thought it would be. Given how inflationary Dogecoin's supply is, it hard to believe that it'll go to the moon sometime in the future. I won't get past $0.01 USD since there is an immense amount of DOGE in circulation. With too many coins on the market, value will simply decrease or remain relatively stable over time. If somehow McAfee's prediction comes true, then many of us DOGE "hodlers" will become extremely wealthy in the future. Just my thoughts ;D

The DOGE community is very large, loyal and powerful. Obviously there are whales who do manipulation with DOGE, as it is a currency which is relatively easier to manipulate. But it is different from the other shitcoins, due to the sizable user-base. It is a coin that is loved by a lot of people (for various reasons), and hated by even more.

The cryptocurrency is rather stable in price, compared to other popular cryptocurrencies on the market like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Dogecoin brings many possibilities within the Blockchain industry, which has gathered the attention of even the most prominent figures within the mainstream world (like McAfee, Musk, and even Buterin).

If DOGE becomes popular, maybe McAfee's prediction about it will come true after all. No one knows what exactly will happen in the future, as crypto behaves in strange and bizarre ways. One day, a cryptocurrency can be in its ATHs while the next day it could be all the way down the drain. As far as I know, Dogecoin has never reached more than $0.01 per coin. But if it goes way beyond that price in the future, many Dogecoin "hodlers" could become extremely wealthy. If you believe in the cryptocurrency, you would invest in it for a long time no matter what it's said in the mainstream world. Otherwise, you'd be losing your time. Just my opinion :)

 i really doubt if the  price of dogecoin can get as high as 1000 satoshi in the nearest future  even with its use case, but let us watch and see how McAfee prediction works . anywhere when he said "moon" he didn't indicate the level of mooning , so a little above the current price could be a " moon'

With what we have done and a good future, I believe that dogecoin prices will grow steadily. I am also expecting that John McAfee will be right, Dogecoin is the cryptocurrency that is preparing for a big rally.

Have you read anything about Doge..? If you had done some research on it then you would know that it will never be a mainstream coin. In the world of crypto "purpose" is an important thing to have in order to grow. Doge was created to show the world that anything can get pumped in this market.

I also saved some dogecoin, but what I see here, is McAfee really honest about his response? Or just advertising? We do not know what is happening behind the scenes. John McAfee is right in the world of many senior  crypto , but that is not to say that all his predictions will be correct. I don't think Altar Coins will go into good position this month. Alter coins will take a lot of time to get into good positions.

How can a coin that was created just for joke become a stablecoin, with more than $100 million in market cap? And this is happening when a number of really good coins are going down in the market.

Dogecoin was created as a joke cryptocurrency without any use cases for the mainstream world. But it turns out, people have found a use for Dogecoin over time. What once started as a joke, ended as a serious cryptocurrency used for micropayments all over the world at the fraction of a cost. With no scalability improvements whatsoever, Dogecoin has been able to stay relevant next to Bitcoin and other prominent cryptocurrencies within the mainstream world. I guess McAfee has found Dogecoin to be a "hidden gem" because of its superior capabilities than Bitcoin (which are lower fees, and faster transactions). It's also extremely inexpensive, becoming much easier for anyone to get started using crypto via Dogecoin itself. At times, Dogecoin's price is "pumped" by a small margin. So far, Dogecoin has been unable to get past $0.01 per coin. I doubt that it'll go to the moon anytime soon because of its limitless supply.

Nonetheless, McAfee is known to talk positively about most cryptocurrencies trading on the market today. Considering that no one takes him seriously, his positive comments about Dogecoin might not have an effect over its long-term price whatsoever. But if somehow McAfee's prediction comes true, many Dogecoin holders will become extremely wealthy in an instant. Just my thoughts ;D

Seriously? You believe that this joker is still trustworthy? Have you ever heard about ICOs such as Transcodium, Latium, Finacoin, Eristica and Nimbus? The chances are low, because most of these projects are dead. The common link for them is that McAfee promoted these projects (after charging $105,000 for a single tweet from his official twitter handle). And then there is the Mcafeecoin, which is his own ICO. You may not find many of these projects in coinmarketcap, because they don't even qualify for the listing there.

that will never happen and you should not worry about that. Doge will always still remain the same as doge coin that offers very cheap fees as the main feature. People are only using doge right now for the transaction purpose only and no more. With the inflation of doge and it's impossible for them to consider doge as an investment.

I doubt serious crypto enthusiasts will believe a word McAfee says after promoting/shilling a few scam projects in the crypto space. Anyone can speculate, but what really determines a cryptocurrency's value is its use cases within the mainstream world. I believe that Mr. McAfee is wrong again by making wild speculations about the future of Dogecoin. This is a cryptocurrency which is not meant for long term investments, but rather as a short term investment for performing quick trades and sending micropayments at a fraction of the cost. What prevents Dogecoin from ever reaching new All-time-highs is its total supply (aside from today's bear market). The highest recorded ATH of DOGE was $0.01 per coin. I doubt that it'll go to the moon in terms of price, because of the way it was designed. Unless a new development team comes up with the aim of "reviving" the cryptocurrency project, Dogecoin will remain as a "second-class" cryptocurrency for years to come.

But who knows? Anything can happen in crypto land. I've seen several cryptocurrencies being worth nothing to hundreds of dollars in a matter of months. While the chances of this happening with Dogecoin are very slim, we cannot discard the possibility that DOGE could turn out to become valuable sometime in the future. A new development team might become interested in reducing the cryptocurrency's total supply. Time will tell us what will be the outcome of Dogecoin's adoption worldwide as people discover its true benefits. Just my opinion :)

Honestly i haven't heard elon musk declared any interest in crypto currency because im never seen him invest in any altcoins could you provide source to this. In my opinion there's nothing new to John McAfee's prediction and mostly he gets it wrong, yes dogecoin could moon but it could also die in any moment due to the lack of investors and the lack of price movement, but on the other hand if a real expert trader says it could moon than i'll take that seriously.

This is the closest Elon has ever come to Bitcoin, while he enjoys trolling everyone regularly on Twitter about it.

The answer is simple.... Popularity.
Dogecoin is owned by some anonymous people and I am thinking that it it popular anonymous people because whenever it wants to fade into the background, someone would just start hyping it again and it would be ressurected, it doesn't matter if they have made any developement strides in recent times, all that matters is that they have a very strong community support and CZ said exactly that when doge was listed in Binance.

Until McAfee is able to steady and stabilize his decentralized exchange - McAfeedex, I don't think many in the crypto community will want to take him seriously for his word. I know he is renowned as an Anti-Virus guru in the software business but cryptocurrency is a different ball game. Dogecoin is just a lousy project, BTW.

Personally, I am not interested John McAfee's opinion about any cryptocurrencies, he has a bad reputation because of promoting different useless projects, so I think he just want to get some hype by saying such coin as Dogecoin will "Go to the Moon".

Because the altcoins he supported before had messed up I guess. This doge however is different, it had long been working as is before he shill for it. DOGE is pure coin with its own blockchain, fast and can be traded in different exchanges. I don't know why someone wouldn't like a cute dog.  This is to be honest is the safest coin you could go and its pumping right now.

Personally, I think Dogecoin has always been a very interesting coin. And if people like John McAfee who are not the last people in the crypto industry believe that soon the time will come for big changes, then this coin will become very popular and rise in price.

Sharks often create shocking news and increase their followers. after that, they continually make statements without any evidence, just like you say. The price of doge is increasing gradually not because McAfee said so but because this coin has strive for a long time now to be recognized with a solid team behind it who are very willing and persistent to give the project their all, people should pay less attention to what McAfee said and pay more attention to the project that deserves it,

Exactly. What matters is community support above all else. Dogecoin may have been abandoned in development and innovation, but it has strong community support (unlike some cryptocurrencies today). It's no wonder why it has the most trading pairs on crypto exchanges, becoming one of the most popular cryptocurrencies in the world today. Many famous people in the mainstream world (like John McAfee and even Elon Musk) have talked positively about Dogecoin because of its strong community support. Not to mention, Dogecoin is extremely inexpensive and quick for micropayments than most well-known cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. As long as Dogecoin is able to maintain itself as a quick and inexpensive cryptocurrency for micropayments, it'll never die.

I believe that McAfee expressed his positive comments about Dogecoin going to the moon, in terms of user adoption and not price per coin. We all know that with DOGE's current supply, it's nearly impossible for the cryptocurrency to ever reach a new ATH across the market. It's fine as an inexpensive cryptocurrency that provides real use cases for the mainstream world. Of course, there are other altcoins which are faster (and sometimes even cheaper) than Dogecoin itself. But these other altcoins are not as popular as Dogecoin is. What once started as a "joke" turned out to become a serious cryptocurrency for mainstream use. All in all, Dogecoin has truly found a place as a cryptocurrency that's useful for the whole world because the way it was designed. Just my thoughts ;D
