Title: Hold on to patience even when it feels like wearing off

Altcoins seem to be the ones taking the hits of negative results and they are not encouraging, i know its not a good time for every altcoin holders, the question you all need to be asking yourselves is how long will altcoin market keep declining? will it take forever cos nothing last forever, patience is all you need, if its not enough to calm you then look for other ways to sustain yourself for a while, do not run because of present condition cos it doesn't justified tomorrow. For whatever is going to turn out good will first go sideways.

From the start we all know that this is the nature of every crypto. It has a very unstable price value that every time will change and we can say that altcoin is in the down stage now but if we are really know how to use this situation it is not a problem because you can consider it as a good thing as a altcoin holder, you can buy now and hold it and wait for the right time that the value will ruse before you sell it.

why do people always think patience is the key? I think patience in no way returns the situation back to normal. what you have to do is change your mindset going forward and find a gap to balance when the market is in a bad situation.

Do you think there's a way to know on how long this decline will last? no can do. And if somebody who's been relying wholly to crypto is on a lose right now, don't depend on one single source of income.

Explore more about other sources which you can depend so if the other source starts to get weak, you won't be that much affected. Increase your ways of earning and you won't feel bad when the market is still dipping.

I think I agree with Livingfree, when the altcoin market hasn't shown signs of improvement.  We must try to find other alternatives for our source of income.  Because, it is as an anticipatory step.  So it doesn't get stuck in this uncertainty for too long

many people consider being patient and holding their assets that are in decline is the right step to wait for the value of their assets to return. just like that will make your money trapped in investments that do not know when to get back.
the market gives us the possibility of making a profit on daily trading. improve capabilities and start new things, we have to keep going even though the market is in a bad state.

Patience is important, but if the project is nearly dead and is barely alive, you can wait a decade and the price will not grow. If the project is solid, has a use case and a good team and you are sure after your research that the project has good chances to be successful than patience is the right strategy. But never put blindly your money in a project and just wait. Observe the project, check social media and check the process of the road map.

I think it is better people stop putting timeline on when Altcoin will rebound and give the type of return we saw in 2017 and early 2018, people are still not very confident holding on to their Altcoins that is why the selling pressure is more than the buying pressure, what we saw then was that people are very confident holding unto them  but now after ICO/IEO people move their tokens to exchanges looking to cash out at the earliest possible time

Presently I don't think there is anything we can do that to be patience, the rate of dip for altcoin is hear breaking, but like we understand how the space works, is to keep holding and hope there will be a surge for crypto, could be next year, anyway, crypto is unpredictable .

There's a time to be patient, but there's also a time where you've got to accept your losses and cut them while you're still ahead. While it can be good to indefinitely hold coins, you should also be considering setting a price at which you'll cut losses and sell off a certain percentage (or even all) of the coins or tokens you're holding. Alts can rise extremely rapidly, and they can also drop in price extremely rapidly and you should be considering this whenever you're investing in any sort of cryptocurrency.

Patience is relevant in crypto investment generally. It's good to be sure of the altcoins you hold for long term so that when you are being patient, it will worth it in the long run. Being patient for holding coins with zero development progress doesn't make any sense, it's essential to have good reasons for holding and that's what I call taking calculated risk.

Patience is key for any investments. But cryptos need to prove this statement. One who invested in crypto when it was in peak year would not agree with this. However, if somebody started way earlier, then they would still be in huge profits.

It feels like I am having a nose bleed one of these days in the month of September, the price was drastically going nowhere to find it good. Market wasn't able to have the desired momentum, since volatility always dominated the current situations. Only my determinations has made me strong in facing the recent struggles.

This looks encouraging and of course I reckon with it, but the fact remains that when it comes to altcoins extreme caution nerds to be taken, else, you will find yourself losing continuously, until you are able to learn from your mistakes. However, some altcoins are already making headway in diverse forms. Why? Because they are giving what it rakes to be recognized and be sort after.

This is really wrong and patience is not the key but we have so many chances to do various things to get profits from the market. can you expect when the declining trend will be ended? I guess you can't expect that because that was unpredictable.
So many people have created a similar thread like this one.
What do you need is how you can use that chance with your best. It's not always about patience as the key.

Been patient for quite some time by now.

We have seen bitcoin plunged and then resurrected but not with altcoins. There is not much happening with it anymore even if their roadmap is being done.
Looks like the buyers are also getting pessimistic and it is not a good thing.

I just took some in my portfolio then invested it again with bitcoin.
There are some loss but dont really care much anymore.

I totally agree with this post, patience is very necessary to excel in crypto. If you do your research properly and decide to hold a coin for long term, even when the coin dumps and the project development still continues, do not be so fast to dump. Provided there are updates giving hope to investors, someday there should be a price  uptrend for that coin.  From experience, the patient always win in the long run.

Looking how the market goes off and on, we must have to stay calm and patience. Though it is not the only thing we must have to but this is the most important and a vital thing when investing in a volatile market.
Either we like it or not,  this is how actually the market behaves and patience will help us to stay calm. But of course, we have to do something and not just sitting in a rocking chair.

How long is just an overstatement. The long bearish trend started around March of 2018, so it's been like more than a year of declined and seeing our portfolio lose along the 60%-90%. So it's really difficult for altcoins holders seeing this kind of decline in the market.

will it take forever cos nothing last forever, patience is all you need, if its not enough to calm you then look for other ways to sustain yourself for a while, do not run because of present condition cos it doesn't justified tomorrow. For whatever is going to turn out good will first go sideways.

Definitely it won't take forever, the problem is that there's no more money coming in. All money is in the Bitcoin market because obviously it's dominance balloon to 70%. So if you are willing to suffer a lost today and liquidate your altcoin then it's your decision specially if you don't have the patience to wait the end of this disappointing bearish trend.

This is the reason why we need not to focus on a single source of income because if this will continue declining its price, we will not be making profits anymore. Invest into some other potential coins too particularly bitcoin because this is the most profitable and trusted coin for now. If we really want to have good earnings in crypto, we should be more educated because there's a lot of resources in crypto wherein we can make them as a source of income.

It seems almost everybody were disappointed by the recent cryptocurrency market slowdown which is very frustrating. Nevertheless, I think it would be helpful if we could take some time off to attend some of the things we like to do and enjoy life and  be productive so that it could lessen the stress in waiting for the market to recover. :)

all token holders are still waiting for the altcoin season (bullish), but because the BTC dominance is still above 60% so it makes it difficult for altcoin to take a breath and move,
need high patience, if in 2019 there is still no movement then I'm sure 2020 there will be a breath for altcoin,

We have been waiting for at least 2 years to see altcoin price goes up again such as that had happened at 2017 ago. Yeah, I believe our benchmark is 2017 ago and we will trying hard to hold our altcoins until the day we can see the price will goes up hardly.

I just have one thing to continue to believe and keep altcoin in my wallet, just because I have predicted the altcoin that I had will give me a lot of profit with one note the altcoin season comes. In my mind the project function is really good and can be used daily by everyone when the cryptocurrency meet mass adoption.

So, I'll say to you it depends on the altcoin that you hold. If you believe your altcoin will give you a lot of profit then it will deserve to keep hold until the alt season comes. But if otherwise, sell them quickly and find another one who can make you rich in the future.

Yes because we don't have idea on how long this dip will stay. For those people here who are making their sources through altcoins or the crypto market itself. If you think that it's getting lower, do something about it.

You can trade or study more about the market which you can apply it which can be beneficial to each individual. And this can also lessen the complaining whenever we see the market goes bad on shape.

Panicking when the price falls is the things from someone who invested on a thing without much confident,in this case we can cashout because without knowing where it leads to will be simply gambling. But you know that the coin you are holding surely will take off at some stage needs that kind of patience when the prices taking too much hits.

Quite right, I also went through this and realized that it is unnecessary to worry and you just need to wait and one day the growth of altcoins will begin, and until this day comes you need to continue to fill your cryptocurrency portfolio with various altcoins so that you will can sell everything and get the maximum profit. Patience in the cryptocurrency field is one of the main factors that serves your success.

it may be time for all of you who call what you do "having patience" to start rethinking your decisions in life. you have been bagholding a bunch of shitcoins that were destined to lose value and that is what they have been doing over the past 2 years and will not stop until they lost at least 98% of their prices.

patience is for when you have made a good decision and a good investment in something with actual future not something that clearly has no future and is only here because it was pumped.

You are right and i think that new people that have entered the market in last 12 to 18 months need to keep hodling and be patient for atleast 12 to 24 more months because im quite confident that within next 2 years market will not only recovery but will boom to next level highs so every hodler can take profit then and get maximum benefit.

I quite disagreed with that because, many are still complaining about the market volatility and seem to them that, the world.if cryptocurrency is full of birds of rosary. Impatience among investors have caused many to loose their profits while they invest, some of them never want to see the market going down. Although, i was a victim of these theory's at my early stages but learnt my lessons while invest in 2018. I almost lost my whole investment in 2018 when the entire market was down and was speculated to get to $1000 per BTC, I summoned my courage and later see a good profit from my investment. So, patience is the right key to make reasonable profit from cryptocurrency investment.

I keep saying this statement, altcoins in general aren't leaving the cryptocurrency space anything soon but that doesn't mean the current altcoin would be around for a long time. Since I don't believe they would be around I don't advice exercising patience with them. More altcoins are yet to be produced and those the future will provide are far more superior to the current altcoins so what's the point of holding inferior coins?.

Invest wisely, know when to cash out or exercise a little bit more patience but never compare your altcoins to bitcoin in regards to the level of patience you'll exercise with the coins. Bitcoin will always be here for years to come but that altcoin you're hoping on might not even survive the bear market and if it does there's a far superior altcoins probably developing similar technologies to be launch soon, which will take alway all the attention from that altcoin you're hoping on.

In the short time that I'm in crypto, I realized one thing for myself - no need to be too greedy. When I was waiting for the best price for some altcoins, they fell sharply in price, and I'm not sure about some of them, I think they will never recover at all. It was necessary to sell then, at good prices, don't wait high prices, and to buy other, more promising, to be flexible and active. But I understand that now. Too bad it's a little late.

As I see, bitcoin really dominates the market, but the conjecture that there's no money coming in to altcoins seems to not be true. There's still investment, It is not necessary to directly buy altcoins from fiats, trading may do, and there's still allot of altcoins worthy for trading. Plus, if some famous crypto enthusiast create hypes, then we can expect a good market trend from altcoins. But to think about the future, altcoin may not be permanent, they continue to battle in order to stay but too far to overcome what bitcoin it.

I think this is kind of business everybody jumping into should be first clear to their minds that crypto investment is a volatile state even before. People are giving their anger to most people why the market is red and still on the bear state but some wise people started to buy with this and enjoying the bargain price cause they know market will be stable or go back to a more normal state where all alts and big coins have huge demand.

It feels much more than wearing off, especially if you are holding altcoins for a long time. The last real price increase was in 2017 and it was never a worse time to hold a bunch of altcoins, which makes me already a bit disappointed with the whole thing.

I belong to the group of hodlers and I would rather hodl my coins than selling it for some few cents. As they say cryptos are really volatile so no one knows what will happen tomorrow. Who knows maybe that coin will rise up again after some few years. Like what my friend use to say, it's just paper loss, you will just lose if you start to sell.

P.S. I only hold ltc and eth.  ;)

With just hold you can make profit. But when? At bull market “hold” will work 100% for sure for all alt coins. You do not need to be expert trader for making profit at bull market. Just buy and hold and sell when you see enough profit.
By the way crypto market is bearish than it is bullish. At bear market you can also hold, but which coin. There is no dip at crypto market. While you are holding, your coin can break supports one by one and can go to all time lows everyday. So if you are holder just focus on TOP ranked coins at bear market.  By this way you can decrease your risk at bear market if you are holder.

This caption already says it all. Even when you feel like it is the end, and want to give up, just hold on a little longer. Patience is very key in this industry, and without it, a vast majority of investors would only be making hasty decisions that might cost them quite a fortune. The market may seem quite unstable now, but it has not always been like this, and it wouldn't remain so forever, so be patient, even if it is for a little more time.

Some people think like you but not me, if touch my stop loss I'll cut loss, for recovery fund of course. Patience is the key but if you do in red market with low volume it will make you bankrupt. That's why setting our stop loss is needed, even looks not interesting but it will safe your fund from bigger loss. Trust me, set the parameter, never obey your rules and good luck to you.

When the price of altcoin decreases, it is difficult to predict how long it will happen and for us of course it requires patience and do not just wait, we must find other ways to survive in cryptocurrency and observe every movement of market charts to find opportunities so that we do not get a failure and can continue to survive.

The sideways on the crypto charts also tradeable and trading the breakout depends on the price velocity between the support and resistance lines. Even getting a 20% return per month while keep doing the day trading can suit many trader's trading styles but everyone is not equally patient. Patience matters at this point, ridiculous arguments will not save the trader from falling to the deepest points on the dropdown of the trading account statement.

It is always difficult for altcoin holders to accept the reality. But the reality is altcoin is declining every now and then and no sigh of recovery is on the horizon. Even then, altcoin holders should keep patience because such bad situation for cryptocurrency will turn into good situation once again.

The Altcoin season hasn't arrived. Patience is the best way to wait for the Altcoin season, I am sure that this can happen. I personally wait for the Altcoin season to arrive, I am investing and trading.

Trades that I often do. Because the market situation is unstable so the price of the coin undergoes up and down. Sometimes this price change happens very quickly. So I use it to make a profit. Maybe if later the season of Altcoin arrives I can make a bigger profit.

It will arrive soon. We need to have more patience to wait until the market can slow recover, and I guess that it will not be too long to see that will happen. We have less than 10 months later to see bitcoin halving which could give impact to altcoin and bitcoin. When bitcoin can increase higher, that means that the altcoin can follow what bitcoin does. So we should be patient for a while, and as you said, we could make a bigger profit when the altcoin season comes, and we will also make a profit from bitcoin too.

Of course it all must be based on analysis, not just relying on feeling and luck alone. Being a holder requires a strong mentality, especially when prices are falling. That's when mentally tested, if it gets through it and at the right time the price bounces, then big profits are insight. One important thing, do not be greedy, do it based on the analysis.

Many might got this wrong but i understand, even after all the hardworking and research before investment you will still need some patience before you start seeing positive out comes, coins that worth 1000$ have become 20$ and this doesn't mean that 20$ coins can't worth over 1000$ someday

I have a patience because I know that the coin that I currently holding will increase in the future. Not all of people who have a lot of patience are becoming successful, we should ensure that the coin that we buy is worth it.

Yeah I agree, there's no hint until next year that it's going to be better, 2017 the heyday of altcoins is over and I hate to admit it's not going to come again, the only positive side is we have a purging, we are now seeing what coins are worth hodling for a long term, so many altcoins in 2017 are just pump and dump coins, I don't think they are existing now, their days are over.
It's better to trade your altcoins to Bitcoin or Ethereum, it's a wise decision

The market would not be bearish forever. Just like its said in the scriptures, there's time for everything, I do believe that the bull run would come in no distant time. In fact, am anticipating the bull run anytime from now because its overdue. We only need to be patient and await a change in the market.

Right if you hold the correct coins on your pocket but if you baghold those shitcoins from the past then you are wasting your time and effort since provably the Dev already left the project and dump their coins,

Remember all will depends on but if you think you will earn luck in future then go with it since all those past Bitcoin millionaire's believe a good fortune and the result make them great in history of crypto.

Its a pity non of the altcoins seems to have been doing well pirce-wise their price has been on decline for long (bearish run) although I believed this would not continue as it is now, its better to hodl patiently at least till end of next 2020 with upcoming positive news that might triggers the bullish runs especially ethereum 2.0 coming up next year and halving of bitcoin would likely increase the pumping of altcoins

definitely the market will begin to recover and altcoins prices will also rise, but not all altcoins will return to their previous ATH and not all will bring any profit because such a long bear market has already killed many projects, but very few people know about it. many teams just don’t say that they have very big problems. they are silent because they think that with the growth of the market, people will begin to believe in them again, but such happiness will not happens again as it was in 2017 for bad projects

of course we must always be patient no matter what the circumstances, and rest assured that everything continues to spin like a wheel, addressing the state of altcoin from the beginning of 2019 until now it is indeed seen in a cursory glance, but I always take advantage of every circumstance, not only always assuming our high prices can't take advantage, but even though altcoin is like this there will always be benefits if we are good at using the moment, and I have confidence in Q2 of 2020 altcoin will again breathe fresh air. Now all that remains is for us to determine whether we want to be patient or frustrated.

I have hedl my altcoins throughout the bearish season so I will not lose my patience now and sell my cryptos. That is just the way crypto moves, either pump or dump. Patience and discipline is the key ingredients if you want to get rewarded in the industry. Just pick a really strong crypto with good long term potential and everything will be fine. Anytime soon the alt season will be back.

It is the same for Bitcoin hodlers. How long should they hold before it gets back in 20k?
There is no set date for that, of course. That's why we keep hodling. We need to be in another ATH before hype returns. It is a patience era for now in cryptos.

It really is, if you bought Bitcoin and other altcoins on their all time high, we admire your patience, it's not easy to hodl for this length of time, you will be rewarded this year possibly, I have also bought some coins in their all time high, only additional coins that I'm going to hodl, I sold it, to cut the loss, it's not that easy to hodl when you see your coins going down.

A dead altcoin lasts forever that's for sure. Cutting lose is a reasonable thing to do when there's no signs of rebound. I mean if you're a potential altcoin with active development like ETH sure hodl on. But if you're holding shitcoins and just waiting for a massive pump then forget it. Probably better to cut your losses now.

The altcoin market still really need more time to start recover, but holders need really patience now. Altcoin price may decrease more, but its will not be more than 10-30% and if you dont wanna miss the train, you should buy more and more to lower entry price. I believe if bitcoin can break 20k$, which i think not really hard after hard fork, altcoin season maybe start.

Patience can be very important. However, this market is also very important in getting the right position early. You should make sales during profit periods. If you wait constantly, you may not make money if you look at the screen continuously.

This is a simple situation. people just hope that when the market starts to grow, it will grow forever and they will just hold their coins and constantly make a profit. They do not understand that the market has cycles and does not understand when to buy and when to sell. the endless hold is also not the right strategy

This is true. Opportunity doesn't always knock your doors so take it, don't worry if they label you as a dumper.  Its from the words of the Legendary users that altcoins are all scam, so beforeyou get scammed by these  developers you dump what you got. If it turned out that the altcoin is becoming good that it ranks on the coinmarketcap, try buying it back. Its that simple. But by know always learn about the altcoins you promote and see if it has the tech to grow.

I believe that you need to understand how altcoins behaved earlier and how now, this will allow us to predict how they will behave in the future. This is of course not 100%, but it can give an understanding of the market movement and its prospects. Cryptocurrencies are not in vain considered a high-risk asset, all this due to the fact that large multiplications occur. But one thing is for sure, a number of altcoins will still show their strength.

too wise to say but the fact is like that that the current condition of the crypto market is still weak, there is no significant price movement for altcoin or bitcoin, and all we need to do is be patient until the market returns to normal. on the other hand you also have to update the assets you have, because not all coins or altcoin can survive in this industry.

I know that all of those that are enthusiastic about the market of altcoins have had a bad time for years but your first and most important mistake was deciding to hold altcoins on the first place, you do not hold altcoins you trade them, and as soon as one of them begins to go down you sell it and get bitcoin or fiat in return, the problem is that many people thought the market of altcoins could keep growing forever and that is not possible and are now paying the price of their mistakes.

Maybe problem is in expecting the significant rise to happen! Looks like many people wish significant price movement to happens every month, like that is possible. Some people have too big expectations, so some people should lower them.
New significant price movement will happen, in that time we will see which ones will rise which ones will stay where they are, or they will drop to zero. Anything can happen with any coin, I learned that in crypto long time ago, you can't be sure in anything.

Patience is tested when the price of coins is decreasing, don't be careless and lose control so that panic sell occurs.  When conditions are not promising, must have a solution so as not to experience the risk of large losses.
Adequate funds are very important when trading, so that we can anticipate if the coins we hold are experiencing a price decline, so we can buy other coins to cover losses on coins that are experiencing a price decline.

For bitcoin there is. You probably don't monitor it that's why you also included it to have no significant movement. In fact, bitcoin has been lifted up up to $14,000 and that's a huge gain for everybody who has been waiting for a retrieval moment for bitcoin. Almost near to the all time high and that gave a boost for everyone that there's still a chance that we can see $20,000 soon. For altcoins, as you have said it's kind of difficult for it and that's the reason many are disappointed until now.

Aside from holding, we can buy more as much as we can ;) that way we can increase our possible profit in the future, and I do agree with you, holding a shitcoin will be a waste of time, it's better to hold top altcoins.

That's it, all altcoins struggle for a long time, and we all know that after those struggles, there will be a bounce-back that will happen after that. The most awaited bull run will come that is for sure.

and the top altcoin will be the best choice if the altcoin season comes, and true holding shitcoin will only waste time and no use.

Altcoins badly struggle for over a year already, it might continue this way or change, but I know the time will come where we will enjoy again and the FOMO will come.

Holding it is the best choice and indeed that is what can be done for those who already have altcoin, and must have strong patience to wait for altcoin to rise from adversity and there will be time for the altcoin season to arrive and only time will answer That is all.
and the top altcoin will be the best choice if the altcoin season comes, and true holding shitcoin will only waste time and no use.
Holding is the best choose if invested with potential altcoin but when many shit coin what for holding more than two years later and never have chance to higher price because become shit coin only, although holding ten years later price keep down and got trouble if price keep with lower by delist from exchange market, I only hold about three or four months later if price look down I will sell it.

I guess you should consider a stop loss before losing everything. Investing in altcoins is very risky because most of them doesn't live long and most of them fail that's why i've stayed away from it, although i invest in it for time to time but i only buy from one of the top 10 altcoins in the crpyto market and i dont hold long. I only invest in bitcoin becauce i know its a safe and bubble tested even though my investment is an small amount, well money is money so its gonna hurt when you loss it.

I think you should just start investing on the altcoins that recovers so fast like how bitcoin recovers its price also after dump. Also, you need to put some extra effort on researching first before you invest on a specific coin. Always try to have some patience because having some patience will for surely gonna read you to success.

Yeah your right not everything will remain as it is especially the altcoin prices because time will surely come that their prices will recover. What we really need is patience and faith to the currencies that we are currently holding.

Market is like a wheel so we don't need to worry that the prices of any currencies will keep on declining as time will come that wheel will turn to the opposite side and that's when the prices will start to rise. If you are a wise investors and you have plenty of spare money then buying more is your best option right now then hold it for a long term.

2019 hasn't been a good year for altcoin holders. But this will not last forever. And altcoin prices will rise again. It's just impossible for me to predict when this will happen. I will continue to wait patiently until then.

I guess your mean we are in 2019 and not 2020, right? ;D

This year is not a good year for altcoin holders, yes that is true. But for the bitcoin price, we have a good time to see the price has reversed to a higher rate after reaching the lowest price at $3000 and now we are at $7200 price level. I am sure that in the next year, we will break another higher price so we can see both bitcoin and altcoin will rise together, and that can help us to make a big profit again. So we need to hold on the coins and be patient to wait for that bull run to coming again.

The season of Altcoin has not arrived. And to be honest, it may no longer come. Patience, however, is the best way of waiting for the Altcoin season, I'm sure it can happen. I personally look forward to the arrival of the Altcoin season, I invest and trade. With trading it is possible to stack up on crypto. Because the situation on the market is unpredictable, the coin's price goes up and down. This price change often happens very quickly. So to make a profit, I use it. Perhaps if Altcoin's season arrives later, I will make a bigger profit.
patience becomes important here, if we don't have patience maybe we will always lose or leave this crypto. maybe the best way to keep finding another job to survive, because what makes our patience chaotic is a matter of income and also needs.

Yep, patience is a great virtue in this crypto industry, from waiting for a project to be listed to getting your hopes up that price will be favourable within a set time and all that. It's really a hard thing to do. Sometimes we sell too early and regret it. Other times we hodl and the tokens become worthless in our hands. It's neither here nor there.

Holding Crypto does need patience, especially if it holds it with a long period of time because the price of altcoin is sharply decreased, when it was when a person bought a high price around the year 2017. The current situation is not favorable for altcoin holders,, as the altcoins are still in weak prices, so hold on while you can. But holding on is also not a guarantee that prices will quickly go up.

It is seriously a very questionable think because it is easier for whales since they are few people but can we actually do it with hundreds of thousands of people? So far we haven't but maybe one day we may achieve that.

The questions should bother every altcoin investor and everyone keeps saying the same words: Patience and wait for the bull market. I doubt the market will recover sooner than 2022, the accumulation phase will take years, in my opinion.
You are talking about a very long time. I think that everything will be much faster. I also doubt that this will happen in the next half a year, but by the end of 2020 we will already begin to observe the growth trends of the cryptocurrency market and the improvement of the situation. the market will not find in a bearish mood for so long as you say

too wise to say but the fact is like that that the current condition of the crypto market is still weak, there is no significant price movement for altcoin or bitcoin, and all we need to do is be patient until the market returns to normal. on the other hand you also have to update the assets you have, because not all coins or altcoin can survive in this industry.

Those people are real winners in crypto who are aware of the fact that anything can happen in the world of crypto and we shall never ever have high expectations from these coins and the reason is simple i.e. their volatile nature. New price movement is expected by the mid of next year and that is when we will be able to understand and separate strong and successful coins from useless ones.

why do people always think patience is the key? I think patience in no way returns the situation back to normal. what you have to do is change your mindset going forward and find a gap to balance when the market is in a bad situation.

because if we don't have patience then we will panic and sell coins at a low price and that will make a bigger loss. and at a bear market like this the best solution is to be patient and hold on waiting for the coins to pump again. if we try to switch to another coin it's the same. because when it is bearish almost all coins have decreased. and what I mean to hold here is to hold bitcoin and altcoin top. because I'm sure the top bitcoin and altcoin still have a chance to pump more.

Definitely. Especially when you look at the potential bull market that will be coming up in 2020.

Right now is honestly the perfect time to be accumulating some large cap altcoins with DCA. Low risk and high reward, really. Markets have already seen its bottom at $7k BTC and around 0.018 for ETH, and it's unlikely that they will go much lower after this.

Just don't go about holding tokens with no intrinsic value. Projects that have no substance and no team backing in them will never succeed.

yeah, not only altcoin. but bitcoin is also very disappointing for holders. but this is not for a moment. bitcoin and altcoin run side by side. so there will be a time when it will go up after this time in dump. when you get bored with holding. one can trade to increase the stock of their coins. and returned to coin held. so when the pump occurs. we have benefited from before while holding it.

You are not going to gain anything by holding on to an asset which has zero future potential. Intelligent investors sell their asset at the right time. For my part, I sold most of my altcoins two years ago (in 2018), when the future outlook was looking bleak. Now looking back, I am happy that I made that decision then. All the coins that I sold in 2018 lost their value afterwards and some even got delisted from the exchanges.

Some altcoins are not worth it to hold, I really regretted the time that I chose to hold my altcoins than to sell it. Now the altcoins that I have in my wallet are the altcoins that have negative ROI. We should know when is the right time to hold and the right time to let go in order for us to not miss another opportunity to earn money. Only few altcoins that are worth it to hold so we should pick carefully.

Try your best not to be easily swayed by emotions brought by the dull crypto market right now. Patience is indeed the key to succeed here because if you quit early, you already surrender every effort and time you have given into it.
Yes for sure we will have to keep patience and wait I am sure one day bitcoin and Alt coins will recover the price but till then we should keep holding and waiting for right time to sell and to hold. If you feel that your investment is getting down in price you can choose buying more than making foolish decision to sell at panic.

I believe this if prices can change at any time and also have a high enough risk. if we do not have the patience when investing, we will always lose the hold, and also the disadvantage of funds, of course, in terms of patience, the most important thing is to focus on the initial goals made.
Everyone must have a strategy to anticipate what bad possibilities can occur if the coins we hold have decreased and we don't need to rush into making decisions and decide to sell the coins by cutting losses because for me personally, when the coins I hold have decreased then I would prefer to look for other coins that have the opportunity to be able to make a profit and if there are no coins that I think are likely then I would prefer to keep holding the coin and not panic when I see the price of the coin decreases.

In fact there are many people who want to get quick profits from investing in cryptocurrency and as you said that patience is really needed in investing into cryptocurrency. But for me personally, not only patience, experience, knowledge and how we look for opportunities from a coin are also needed to be able to generate profits even if not in a fast. But, if we just buy and be patient and know about the coins we buy, then I think it will only be in vain and waste time.

For me i think patience is pike the general thing we need to have and the changing of mindset comes after you learn how to be patient.

I agree. Instead of always thinking about the declination and stressing out yourself because of what currently is happening within the price of Altcoins in the market, better be optimistic and divert all your stress into something positive so that your position towards the situation becomes positive as well. Remember, stressing out yourself about the prices of Altcoins won't help to rise up the price so better be patient on waiting because indeed nothing last forever, all of the suffering we face and experience will soon to end in no time. Better be tightening your hold into your assets and avoid doing such impulsive decisions you that you can keep your assets safe and sound. Although it is hard to say and do, calm down as much as you can because sooner or later, the Altcoins will surely make its way again rising its price within the market. It is really indeed that patience is a virtue, just keep on holding into that.

A person who invests in Bitcoin should be patient. But you don't have to be patient. When the price goes up a bit, it may make sense to sell. Because there is no continuous rise. Selling before prices go down makes you profit. Thought the prices can buy again.
Well it depends on your strategy, we dont necessary need to wait longer when holding bitcoin. If you see the price is increasing then sell and take profit, buy back when the price decline. But some investors prefer to hold for long period just like me because its less stress in my part.

When it comes to altcoins I chose to hold for long term but it seems I made the wrong decision because I missed the chance to sell when my assets has still a good value. Now im waiting for the price to bounce back again and hopefully this year would be good for alts.

I still hold a certain altcoin because I can't even sell it at a reasonable price, there is no other word but to be patient. for altcoin2 which already has a good daily volume, I try to narrow my interest and trade coins that do have good potential. do not know exactly when this trend will reverse, can only analyze the possibility of Halving as a trigger for a way out for the sustainability of altcoin to achieve better prices.

yes, right, be patient is the first thing to do. but this is not easy as you say. I have been holding altcoin / tokens several times too long, hoping that the price will be good and get a big profit. but it turns out it's selfish, it's better to cut losses from the start and then switch to buying altcoin / other tokens rather than waiting for when altcoin will go up and get big profits. active developers do not guarantee that altcoin will continue to live and have a good price, everything is determined by the market.

I also still hold some altcoin whose value has fallen above 80%, it's useless to sell it, so it's better that I keep holding on hoping it can recover at least above 50%.
because I know it will be very difficult for altcoin to recover back to 100%. if that happens it certainly takes a very long time, maybe when bullish happened in 2021 but I don't know.

Everyone must be patient when they enter the world of cryptocurrency, but everyone has a limit of patience so that when the patience limit is exceeded, people will feel disappointed and go to others.

why do people always think patience is the key?

Patience is needed in investing in cryptocurrency, especially when the price is declining, we must be patient and hold the coins we have for quite a long period of time. But, sometimes there are some people who have a situation where they really need money and inevitably they have to sell the coins they have so they will sell them even if they get a loss and I think this is normal and everyone should be able to calculate their financial condition before deciding to invest.

If one person wants to recover the loss in crypto, he should have patience, no matter if he needs to wait for a long time, he will get what he wants someday. Besides holding his coins, he can also use some money for trade, which can help him to recover too, so he doesn't have to wait for the bull run coming. If he can do that, I am sure that he will recover his losses, and he doesn't have to wait for a long time because he can get the profit from trading.

in the crypto market, prices will be affected by supply and demand. and if the current state of the market is falling, then the thing to do is to increase demands on altcoin. because if altcoin continues to accept transactions, then prices will be able to keep moving. conversely, if only hold and do not do any transactions, the price will be stuck.

patience is needed, but behind it all, we also have to keep buying.

It is true, once you have seen that after the increase in price of bitcoin, but still no chance to pump that certain coin, decide to sell it and cut your losses immediately then choose another altcoin to invest with.

Well there's this thing called averaging. If the coin you're holding is already not showing signs of getting value and the developers doesn't seem to care anymore what happens to it, then yeah, patience would only bury you deeper into losses. Unless you're holding coins that are in the top 10, let's say, where movement is certain. It's not worth it to keep holding something that doesn't seem to have a future. It's more like a gamble.

Easier said than done. It is very hard to keep holding your coins when you are suffering a heavy loss. So at this point, you can look for different ways to compensate your loss. For instance, you can turn to bounty campaigns in this regard. You can earn free tokens from bounty campaigns. If the project you have participated in is a good one, you can get more profits.

Users need to ask themselves why the market share of altcoin is going down, when compared to that of Bitcoin. Everyone likes to believe that the ongoing decline is a temporary trend, and the prices will rise again at some point of time in the future. But we need to ask ourselves whether this will happen or not. My opinion is that the vast majority of the alts don't have any real life usage, and therefore they don't deserve any sort of valuation at all.

If one is to be patient with altcoin, it shouldn't be shitcoins or new projects that just got listed with some HYIP. Concentrating on top-performing coins with active development and commitment from the team should form some basic criteria to staying safe from buying a dead project.

Bitcoin has no concern with other altcoins because bitcoin is rising for its own self and other altcoins rise for their own but one thing you said is appreciable that when a coin does not give you and pro for even after years holding its much better to sell it and buy some valuable coins like bitcoin and ETH but in case of bitcoin you should keep holding as long as possible.

Why brother selling altcoins now after most lost over 95 percent. With altcoins it's do or die. A true captain goes down with his ship. Imagine the eth investors during the doa hack. I'm sure most eth holders panicked and sold for a loss but the captain is the true winner as the captain weathered through the storm

in my opinion patience is not enough to cover everything, all you need to do is how ready you are to accept every risk of cryptoqurrency investment. knowing the market is in bad condition, you also have to monitor your portfolio too, I mean to update your assets with better altcoin. because not all crypto can survive in this industry even though it's a good coin.

I know firsthand that this is true, like many people in the forum I lost money during 2017 and I'm not going to deny that at some point I thought about quitting and sell my coins but I decided that I really believed in this market and its potential, it took me two years but I was able to recover most of the money that I lost and now I'm in a very good position because the halving is coming and most likely we're going to see another bull run during the next two years.

You're clearly completely stupid.

You're basically saying that an altcoin that is losing money will eventually stop losing money because nothing lasts forever. Do you know how juvenile that concept is? It's absolutely ridiculous.

There are plenty of assets that fall to almost zero, but your complete idiocity is telling people to ignore this because eventually, it will reverse course? I guess you've never heard of bankruptcy.

Never give anybody financial advice again dude, seriously.

I agree. Patience is not really enough in the industry we are all currently into because if we just keep on elongating our patience and just keep on waiting for a very long time, we are missing the opportunity to make those small value coins to be traded into a more desirable price because we are patiently waiting until time comes that the price will rise but turns out to continuously fall. So aside from patience on holding, you must always check up your portfolio to sort out potential coins from those unworthy coins that can already be sold to make it valuable in which the amount you will get from it can be traded into a worthy and potential coins that can give you opportunity to earn. We do not just need to wait, we must also do actions about it because if we keep on waiting, we can never tell what will happen to the ones we are waiting if it is still worthy to be wait or not.

Patience is not easy thats why one needs distraction from time to time in this space, maybe other job . Those with 24-hours could be into technical development with a project, managerial post etc but as a long time trader with long year, one should have financially protected themselves for the cycle. Those long term traders are usually on the social media but not actively trading. Someone advised that traders should be active when the total coin market increases to $600b, at that price any altcoins not moving is actually dead.

Look at projects that are not down 80/90/95% + down

Projects like TemTum stable price since launch - two exchange and a working product

Rather than invest in blind promises and hope a token will increase find projects that have a working mainnet, working contracts and partnerships and is making progress

I cant see most of the coins recovering in the next run - as most token holders will dump their tokens the second the price starts to rise

Cut your losses and invest into serious projects

Day trading is profitable if you kmow what you're doing but its not easy as it seems because it is risky too. I've tried to be a day trader before and it didnt turn out well, maybe its not the best way for me to grow my coins.

Holding bitcoin and alts then set a target on when to sell is quite suits for me because of less headaches and worries for the current price. Nevertheless it takes a lot of patience, if you dont have this you might end up selling at the wrong time.

There is a misconception in terms of patience, there are people think that high patience always benefiting us but they did not know that there are also disadvantages having high patience. There are now many hodlers who have high patience but they  regretted their past decisions. They are now holding shitcoins that have no anymore value in the market. Patience is a matter but knowledge is also required and it is the reason why we should choose potential cryptocurrencies.

However, the choice of coins with "good prospects" should be accompanied by an appropriate investment strategy. Therefore, it is possible to say that HODL does not make sense only in specific cases, and not in General about the crypto market.

In dealing with crypto-currency one has to be very patient because market can be so disappointing .The market has been low for a very long period of time with very little signs of improvement along the way.so obviously patient is pretty much needed in crypto-currency in other to make gains out of it.
