Ok thank you for your input, I will unwillingly type the 5 topics for the reasons I had for buying Bitcoin.

1. I Listed Bitcoin Halving

So in a nutshell that what it was, I never mentioned it before because I wanted no spoilers and I wanted people but pro and amateurs to read it. The experienced folks will think its a waste of time because they know about these things already but I can use your input on adding other reasons. For the newbies, this is good stuff.

I think one more important factor is that currently less than 1% of the world's population owns bitcoin. Think about it, what happens when the rest of the world knows and wants to own bitcoin? I definitely want to hold btc.

of the many reasons you have provided, only halving bitcoin is in my opinion the most suitable, other than that it is only as FOMO,

actually in my opinion there is no direct connection with the reason why choosing bitcoin, only indirect connection. .

If 1% of the population holds Bitcoin, the value of this coin will increase very high and many large companies will start using Blockchain technology to develop. I have not thought about it yet because Bitcoin is still not a safe asset in this market but if Bitcoin is stable in the future, this is an investment that will help you a lot. Now BTC is still very cheap and long-term investment will good profit returns over the next few years

I have speed read your article and I must say I love your enthusiasm, but I don't see the relevance of the Facebook's Libra coin. Why would them launching a coin want you to buy Bitcoin? Of course that by that they bring awareness for cryptocurrencies, but Libra is nothing else than a stablecoin backed by different fiat currencies around the world and that has a huge social network at its core.

Bitcoin on the other hand is the behemoth of cryptocurrencies with the true values that one implies.

What the hell does Libra or Facebook coin be the reason that you are involving yourself in bitcoin? Do you mean that it will push the price of bitcoin? Sorry but I have to burst the bubble for you that Libra has no effect on the price and it won't be the catalyst if that is what you are thinking.

Aside from your list, maybe you could also include additional reasons to buy Bitcoin as stated by the CEO of Morgan Creek Capital Management - Mark Yusko, which boldly states that Bitcoin's fundamental indicators such as "network hash rate, transaction volume and a steady increase of wallets being created are in an upward trajectory" which also means that the "network value of Bitcoin is rising!"

If only I had the means to buy more BTC, then I should take any of these reasons listed as a means to justify why I should hold more BTC as much as I can and I'm sure others share the same sentiment with me too.

Thank you all for the feedback. Sorry about the Facebook Libra connection. I though it would be a good indicator that crypto is the future and the need for change is apparent. I see bitcoin as the "GOLD Commodity" for all cryptos. I can just envision every other coin uses it correlation to bitcoin to value itself and set it apart from other coins. Bitcoin will be the standard and the more others coins match up to it in price, then the more value it will have. Just a wild prediction but something to look into.

Maybe what OP was trying to say was that because of bitcoin, he had the opportunity to know other cryptocurrencies, and accidentally he discovered this "facebook coin" which I think it will also become a trash that is trying to prove something against bitcoin in the near future, its release would be 2020 so let's just check it out to know if this "Facebook coin" will make a history in the world of cryptocurrency.

Let me get this straight.... by Bitcoin not being safe you are referring to its volatile nature? If so, then you should review your wording because some people may get a different idea and really think Bitcoin isn't safe to use or hold.

Cheap in relation to what people think it might be worth in the distant future, but definitely not cheap today. I like to use the most recent exchange rate as metric to measure Bitcoin's 'true' value because that's what people pay for it.

People can say that Bitcoin is severely undervalued as much as they want, but if buyers don't agree with that, then it clearly isn't undervalued, neither do the sellers agree with that because they crash the price down.

As a beginner you are doing great. But i think you can do more for your article with some more value able news/tips. You are good with your points but i really don't thing Facebook's Libra is good point to buy bitcoin. I understand that you are trying to say that if Facebook join blockchain then bitcoin price might be bump because Facebook is one of most popular and trust able social media network.

Well that's true but it's just a vibe nothing else. Bitcoin don't need that. Because it's already create their own market which is really huge. Every day bitcoin popularity is increasing. So no matter which big company create their own money it'll never stop bitcoin popularity.

ATMs don't make the price go up. They allow people to buy much easier but the ATM volume is still very low if you compare it to exchanges.  

Trump could be talking about Bitcoin but he wasn't complimenting it. If anybody thought about buying Bitcoin for the first time they wouldn't do it after hearing what Trump had to say.

Bitcoin is my priority and I don’t need any reason to buy bitcoin because I know its the top, but since I do trading I really have to look for some coins or tokens that can also give money to me every time I trade, and I will find the reason to have that coins on my wallet considering the risk.

But my in opinion reason 1-5 there is no strong reason that can influence people to buy Bitcoin.

I'm buying Bitcoin because first I know it can provide us with Savings in the future, secondly, I can use it to send money here to our local country and also overseas. Third, I also use bitcoin to buy crypto's that I think has the potential to rise in the future such as Ethereum, Neo, and Eos. And the beauty of it is that we have an exchange here in our country that accepts bitcoin as payment for my monthly billings such as Electricity, Water, Internet, and Cable.

Of the five reasons that you mentioned, points 1, 3, and 5 count to me as valid. The other two, namely: point number 2 and 4 are not significant reasons for me to buy more Bitcoin. The reasons? Well, powerful figures are always saying things and most of the time, they know little or nothing of it. With regard to your fourth point, it does not have anything to do with Bitcoin. It is a different story itself that is big and complicated enough to be settled within itself. The way it progresses though, it looks like we should not even be troubled by it. That might not see the light of day.

I feel something missing on the article because you don't explain the reason you bought bitcoin. I think the reason can be like this:

1. I can make money from bitcoin.
2. I can get benefits from bitcoin by making bitcoin as my investment.
3. I can see bitcoin have a bright future.
4. You say you come from the stock market, so you might explain why you move into the bitcoin market.
5. I want to join with the next bull run like what I saw in 2017.

There is another interesting view;

Libra being paired to Bitcoin on exchanges similar to how USDT and USDC are paired to Bitcoin. It will help to funnel in a whole new flood of capital we didn't have before. In essence, all people have to do is to connect their Libra wallet to Coinbase for example, and the whole KYC/AML procedure is completed in a super quick fashion.

If we ever see Libra become something like USDT and USDC, I'm pretty sure it will have a significant impact on the whole crypto market. It will also help reduce the impact of an implosion of USDT. I see many benefits here.

you are smart. your choice to make bitcoin as investment is very good I myself consider bitcoin is a technology that will be very targeted in the future era. because the total supply is clear and limited and demand is certain to continue to increase the possibility of bitcoin value will always go up later will inevitably occur. all that is needed is patience and certainty before making an investment especially in bitcoin and realize this investment will require a long time with a lot of drama in it.

There’s only one reason that I should keep my Bitcoins is that its better than fiat. Money has infinite supply and backed by nothing, Bitcoin has limited supply and can’t be faked and thats what I believe will drive its value.

3) No court in the world can take away my bitcoins unless I do it myself.

You have some valid points there but there is one point that I am not in agreement with, which is the Facebook coin, and I cannot seems to link it to why Facebook coin is motivating you to buy bitcoin, because I am not praying for this coin to survive, yes it will serve as speed for market cap of altcoins, but what of bitcoin, Facebook has millions of people that does not know what cryptocurrency is which means they know nothing about bitcoin.

If Facebook happen to be the one to introduce them to cryptocurrency through their own Libra advert, it means that they will get used to Facebook coin and seeing it like GOD of cryptocurrency as against the one of Bitcoin that should be forever recognized as king, so I fear that this little coin Facebook intends to create will be of a little threat to bitcoin existence.

With those points I made you have to look at them with an open/clear mind thinking outside of the box.
The ATMs are rapidly growing and this will make bitcoin more accessible to people who have more difficulty buying bitcoins online. You don't need an ID or address or KYC or NOTHING to use it and buy with just cash. I tried it my self. It was instant. It also means that the Infastructure and the demand is growing...so the growth and demand vs something with very limited supply will hike up the price over time. (this also is better than local bitcoins and Paxful in terms of rates and convenience)

This brings me to Bitcoin halving, even if It does not shoot up the price this time like it always does, its still a win/win in my opinion because I know less coins will be produded afterwards and miners will have less to sell to the market.

As for President Trump and the Federal reserve -  them expressing concerns over Bitcoin and cryptos simply gives me confirmation that it poses a direct threat to their FIAT Currency which is backed by nothing. They will have to find a way soon enough to get onboard.. maybe kill bitcoin and make a new blockchain technology/coin that they will support but have more oversight/control.

2. Bitcoin must be purchased because of fluctuating movements so it can benefit for short-term trading

Agree with you, that libra has nothing to do with bitcoin it's just that they are both cryptocurrency. Even the two coin systems are different where libra is centralized. For me, my only reason why buy or invest in bitcoin is it is good for long term investment which has possibility that we can gain more income. I don’t need 5 reasons at all. I have 1 reason and that is that it’s a safe investment. I would rather use this instead of putting it in my bank, as with this you could gain much more without any trouble. But of course, if we try to be expensive, then it can get risky. Good article for new investor to bitcoin although I doubt it, I just guessing you are not new investor and you have bought bitcoin in the past, right?

Your five reasons is something that should be know by all people and I hope the common poeple out there who still doubt to buy bitcoin will buy it suddenly.

But, I just will make a correction about Libra coin as some people above me, Indeed, libra coin is not something who will change bitcoin price in the future. Even, it will make some companies who have regulated well into cryptocurrency will change their mind back because they will create their own currency based on blockchain and will ban again the utilization of cryptocurrency at their country.

Yeah, you have to know the new development from libra coin, and there are many countries who will fight to it. Recently, Japan and some countries in Europe will watch over to libra coin, I and just scarred if these countries will ban cryptocurrency as a whole. So, just focused on the first reason i.e the halving event, if you make new article about halving event I guess there will be many people who will come and start to invest.

Bitcoin is not controlled by anyone and this is the reason why so many investors tend to hold this coin for personal property. I don't see Libra competing with Bitcoin anytime in future. Libra being a centralized coin by Facebook wouldn't be open to speculation as much as Bitcoin does. Facebook will exercise full control over Libra and won't let it become another investment, rather FB is fully-concentrated to limit Libra to be a utility token only. I doubt Libra would be traded on any exchange online.

There's no way it would be a competition to bitcoin! Even if Facebook does have billion of active users, It won't change the fact that it is an altcoin that feeds on bitcoin.

Bitcoin is always profitable and it is actually the safest cryptocurrency to invest and hold. The actual price isn't showing us the real potential of BTC because the whole crypto market is actually down, and recovering slowly. The price is predicted to go up highly with time and it will double during the few coming years.
And, as the actual price seems affordable for so many investors, it is a good time to buy BTC.

The real potential of bitcoin is not showing because many people in crypto community are still not using bitcoin for peer to peer transactions as created, the day we are more of the peer to peer transaction of bitcoin is when the real potential of bitcoin will be shown which is what will also bring up the real value of bitcoin.

But unfortunately, Bitcoin was built on a more primitive block-chain technology so people are starting to view it as a good store of value and a good investment. In the future, It can act as the gold of all crypto currencies and all the other coins' value will be based on how they convert to Bitcoin. I believe that other coins are more well suited to be used as a day to day currency/payment instead of bitcoin because they are faster, have more scalability, can handle much higher traffic, etc. Bitcoin is a generation 1 Crypto Currency, while..... It's because the whales are watching people behaviors on the internet, when many people expect the price would pump they will dump it, and when people are predicting the price will down and take out their tradem the price pumped and the people will panic and doing FOMO and the whales are getting profits from there.

Correct and since they are too rich enough they really can manipulate the price of the crypto market as well as the mind of people, so it is really frustrating and sad to check people that they are losing always because they can't control their emotion that's why I keep saying to my friends and relatives that they should be too careful with their every actions.

I totally agree with the bottoming opinion as I too feel we have bottomed this time's dump cycle and we can only go up from this point of time. Though am not seeing any bull run buy outs but still we have good support at 8k. But alts are going to suffer when we see a sudden pump in bitcoin like in the past.

we have dump now but it's good for us as we got an opportunity to get some profitable coins at very low price. We know price can pump suddenly very high same as happens in crypto so keep hoping for the best. I can see price getting high timely so buy now and hold, bitcoin is the only coin that has highest potential to rise in price faster than ever.

Hmm i believe i have read these reasons too many times. When someone suggest to invest bitcoin, they always show these reasons. For me, i just believe in crypto currency future and crypto want to grow, bitcoin has to be the leader.  ;)

It is unfortunate that very few users participate in the survey, because I would like to know the real mood of bitcointalk users in relation to the future of Bitcoin.  Nevertheless, if we recall the end of 2018, we can safely say that the current state of affairs in the cryptocurrency market is not as bad as it was at the end of last year.  But the most important thing is that the price of Bitcoin is around $ 7,000 and does not fall below, and this indicates the real value of this coin and its demand in society.
For me personally, there are other cryptocurrencies that I have very high hopes for and at the same time I believe in the prospects of these projects.  But if we talk about Bitcoin, then my excitement responds to all the forecasts that speak of big scenes on this coin and therefore I risk a certain amount of funds for investing in Bitcoin.  But I can risk these means without problems.

See a lot of people discuss about halving, most of them really optimistic about bitcoin price either when halving come or after halving. Maybe if it really happen, people don't want to miss the moment like in last ATH. Maybe with now when people start to hold more it can really help bitcoin price itself.

There are still some influencers that don't speak good about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and they are many. Trump that you mentioned is not a supporter of cryptocurrency and he's made it clear that he is against it. And for the influencers I know that are into cryptocurrency, some of them have been making predictions that are hard to believe lol, I have seen them mention that Bitcoin will reach $700,000 this year and this year I already over and we haven't seen any much increase at all. John McAfee even mentioned we won't have anything less than $500,000 but still, here we are and the price is now below $7,000.

Well, I only trust that the halving will make the price to go up and that's going to be next year after the halving, but I we cannot be sure how much it will rise up, both of last 2 halving made prices to rise up in ten fold. We can expect the same thing to happen again. Now, may main concern is making use of the current low prices; yes, I do not need OP's 5 reasons; just cheaper prices are more than enough for me.
