What are your thoughts on the future of Bitcoin?

We think, that its price is slowly starting to get less and less volatile with each cycle. And long term predictions usually turn out to fail, the longer the more likely.

Here you have two examples: in 1980 no one would have believed that not only the Soviet Union would nothing else than a history, but few of its satellite countries would become NATO member states.
In 2000 almost no one would have thought that today there will be something "purely virtual" worth $7000 and mined on thousands of computers.

I do not like predictions, because most often they do not coincide with reality.

I only saw one prediction that was accurate and that's the one by Pompliano: he said there is going to be a decrease to $3000 in 2019 and after that decrease, the price will start being bullish, and that's exactly what happened, the price decreased to around $3000 and in April it started going up.

Others were just making some stupid predictions that are not going to happen even in the next ten years. Sam Doctor predicted $36,000 this December less than fifteen days and December 2019 will be over, but the price is still struggling at $6,000 rate after dropping from $7000. I am not expecting any increase till the halving.

No one can be sure of the price of bitcoin for sure in the period until 2040, we can only see the movement of one of them from an analysis using historical events that can be made as a reference to where the bitcoin movements will go in the following year.

For example, for today the movement tends to be in the condition of the support area at the price of $ 6700. If there is a breakout of that support, I think bitcoin will likely return in the price range around $ 3000.

Maybe we are seeing a downtrend on the price right now I think this year will end up quite nasty for the price and as we are nearing the end of this Month I think the price that we may get on with will be at $7500 USD just to be safe and the price will now have a less volatile state, in my opinion, I am guessing that 2020 will still be the same well depends on the situation and news but after that, it is a whole new level for us but let's just wait if what may happen in the halving.

Some of the terms you will encounter when you asked someone about what's their view about bitcoin futures. Generally, those views won't help you or anyone in terms of using it as a reference in your future strategy.

There are lots of articles already about prediction and speculations on which some of them are properly analyzed and well-explained so no need to ask for everyone's views since I believed you will not even read it here. The article you have shared is enough to somehow picture out what's the most predicted scenario about bitcoin's future.

Yes indeed the end of this year ended with a bad price because it does not match what is predicted by some people in his article.
We will see the developments after halving happened. I predict that if it hasn't happened halving, the movement will not increase so much, we will wait until the big traders return to the market.

I really think it will happen Bitcoin is always doing this Bull and Bear movement back and forth now so it is not new that there will be a time or year that the price will surely go back again and may hit another new all-time high but this time I think it is pretty elusive right now,

And there are pretty much many stressful inflation that is happening right now people are just panicking all the time because of the said inflation of the market we can not control this it will surely happen.

I think bitcoin will be in a downward trend from now until the end of 2019, by the beginning of 2020 bitcoin will have a slight increase and it will take until the end of 2020 bitcoin to increase above $ 10k.
This is my prediction, the timeline will be at the end of the year.

I have great faith in bitcoin so I think in the future bitcoin will be accepted in many countries and the price of bitcoin will rise sharply.
Bitcoin will have a sharp rally in late 2020 or early 2021, perhaps by which time Bitcoin will reach $ 20k. By 2025, bitcoin will most likely reach $ 150 ~ $ 200k.
I will not predict prices in 2030 and 2040 because it is too far away.

Next ten years are the key ones. As Satoshi himself said in 2010 ish in twenty years volume will either be enormous or nothing. If it's bigger than ever in 2030 then I don't believe it's going anywhere for the rest of our lifetimes at least.

The real challenges in capacity, mining sustainability and uptake are yet to come.

I will only give my prediction for 2040 :  Bitcoin will cease to exist because of quantum computing.

The amount of investments in quantum computing, by governments, established companies like Google Microsoft IBM and so on, and startups is increasing  as the time passes; most scientist think it's just a matter of time until thiese studies will become something tangible.
On 23rd October 2019 Google Artificial Intelligence Division claimed their quantum processor completed in 200 seconds a tasks that a state-of-the-art supercomputer would take approximately 10,000 years to complete ( even if IBM replied their supercomputer would take only 2.5 days to complete).
 

By 2040 the incentive to modify Bitcoin to something that protects it from quantum computing, that's if it's an actual problem and getting a definitive answer to that seems rather hard, will be overwhelming.

I'll be back in nappies by then so won't care either way. No doubt there'll be huge scraps over every aspect of it.

all encryption algorithms should be treated as if they have a limited shelf life. we didn't need quantum computing to break SHA1, did we? so this isn't a new problem.

the bitcoin core developers have already mulled over this issue. the consensus is that we'll just implement a post-quantum signature algorithm when the threat becomes closer. until then, let's savor ECDSA's small transaction sizes a bit longer. post-quantum signatures are really large so upgrading to quantum resistance is not without its costs.

I find it more likely that Bitcoin ends up being just a memory at that point due to the lack of demand than quantum cumputing. It's something that's hyped a lot mainly by the mainstream media to trash talk Bitcoin.

I personally won't make any prediction until we have broken through the $20k all time high, which in all fairness, we might never see again. I'm open to that possibility even though I think it's more likely that it will get broken.
