I just read this article and it really startled me. Seems "the big boys" are not betting on the crypto horse and would hope to see it die out.
Guess that is no news but when social media platforms are applying this type of censorship it crosses some limits in my book.

Clones already exist, but apparently this rumor is not against crypto but scam content that happened to use crypto as vehicle.

That said you should never depend on anyone. Google could in fact declare any crypto material forbidden overnight. Its their service, after all...

But suppose its true. Then what. It would not affect Bitcoin one little inch. It might affect some youtubers that make their living from that, and they would have to emigrate to one of the many available. Its not really the end of anything.

It is also not the first time "social media" bans "crypto". I think i could mention Facebook among others. Did it hurt Bitcoin? Nope. Only p2p decentralized networks can resist censorship, the rest can be intervened at any time without warning, by the State or the company itself if they decide to.

The one YouTuber that I used to watch with crypto content has also showed that the other video he made was removed by YouTube on an instant. YouTube has a current issue with the Coppa which many YouTubers doesn't like the decision they've made although this isn't related to crypto content but I think they are being tough with specific contents.

We can't say that YouTube is being pressured and with the relation of crypto content, they're becoming stricter. There are other existing video streaming websites already but YouTube is the top of them. We don't need a clone, we just need clarifications from them.

Many people don't agree with the use of cryptocurrency because on many factors like it is not secured, not have kyc, does not know where the money came from. Those are common saying of the people if they hear about the use of cryptocurrency. By the time goes by the community slowly gaining attached to the world of cryptocurrency, they see how does it benefits if you have this kind of coin. Also, this is a good source of income too; if you are trying to look at the world of digital currency, there is a lot of things you can do like trading. This one you can exchange your coins into different currency and gain a profit, we have short term trading you are earning daily money but not too much high, else a long term trading it can give you an upper advantage. Still, it takes too much time; next is you want to play gambling better to play online gambling to gain more assets. Today there are a lot of advertisements promoting the use of bitcoin and the other cryptocurrency because they know the potential on it.

The thing you said was right and its not the end of the world if these big platforms would ban out  crypto content.We do already experience it on the past
and as you said Bitcoin havent been affected with that until things goes back to normal.

We dont know on whats the reason of those deletions but for sure it do violates YT terms.

This will confirm that Google is really against Cryptocurrency and since they owned Youtube and they know this is a good channel for Cryptocurrency, they are now banning some channels at the slightest, I have subscribed to a lot of channels and thank goodness they are not yet deleting it, they should take away videos that are reported to be coming from scam projects in the Cryptocurrency but not those verified by users as a big help to them.

Whether if we improvise a new created youtube like video platform, we can't really get the same return of what youtube could provide us with the cryptocurrency related videos. And at the same time, youtube might as well need us in some aspect. I am just confused about this sudden news but I do really believe that the content creator have violated some terms and agreement between them and youtube, not really focusing on the cryptocurrency it self. Because if not so, what's the concrete reason for them avoid crypto in the first place?

if you have ever checked out cryptocurrency related content on the internet including Youtube you would have realized that these contents aren't really that valuable. in fact many of them are very misleading and there are lots of them that are malicious. such as those that aim to pump and dump shitcoins (aka manipulation which is illegal), or those that are advertising malware and all kinds of scam.
so if Youtube removed even 90% of them from their platform, i still wouldn't be surprised and i would definitely not call that move "against crypto"!

I think when bitcoin have been higher price will have many big power against with bitcoin and try to make people left bitcoin as investment assets, they always try to give bad reputation for bitcoin and make many people left bitcoin and move to other investment, most worried when bitcoin become legal payment transaction because many people look interested to use bitcoin than other fiat currency.

They are against of advertising those cryptocurrencies promotion because they are scared of what crypto can do to their ownership. They want the community to just always use a fiat because they know that fiat is much more certain and effective as a world's currency.

When they know something is about cryptocurrency, they take actions and they want to eliminate it. But they have nothing to do with cryptocurrencies capability to regulate around the world.

I have my own crypto channel on YouTube, my video still looks safe now because it only focuses on price analysis, I don't know the channel in question above about what channels are about crypto? when it comes to inviting investment in crypto I think YouTube is deleting it for a reason, but if it is unreasonable there is no need to worry about this platform usually just looking for sensation, see before Facebook and others forbid about crypto but eventually they make their own crypto, in drama they usually there are some victims and I appreciate the channel  ;)

There are other possibilities of crypto-related content being removed on the site. As others have mentioned, it could be an organized attack. But we still can't rule out the possibility of Google's opposition to cryptocurrencies, though it's much unlikely, since there are already rumors of Google supporting cryptocurrencies in services such as Google Pay.

Youtube knew how bug industry crypto is and being a business establishment i dont think Youtube can afford losing this chance.they even showing  videos with violent scene then why not crypto related.
But we cannot change if there are groups that doing everything to bring bitcoin and crypto down so its better to not believing everything that comes out from news.

I also have a small YouTube channel and all videos are safe till now. I think these videos have violated YouTube terms and conditions. I haven't seen the videos that are removed so can't say with confidence.

Who or what are these "the big boys"? Are they the rich bankers? Or the elite rulers? Let them be aware that the success of crypto will not be needing their support. They are too few as compared to the billions of ordinary people who prefer the convenience, privacy, and freedom offered by crypto.

If this censorship will continue, this will just push people to use crypto covertly. If they think they can stop its use and adoption with this strategy, they are mistaken.

I could immediately point out to the scam giveaways happening in Youtube as the root cause of why they want to remove crypto-related content entirely in Youtube. During the 4th quarter of this year there has been an insane rising amount of scam giveaways being uploaded and streamed in Youtube where they are fooling a lot of viewers that there is really a legit giveaway of various cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, some of them are immediately removed but others are not put down immediately making them scam a lot of people. With this they are trying to prevent the possibility that all Youtube channels related to crypto has the potential to upload this type of scam in their channels and I think that is what they are trying to prevent.

Of course if you're a Youtuber and didn't violated any of their terms then definitely you won't be target from them.

But the problem is that there are a lot of youtube videos that popping up, either promoting HYIP, phishing links and other crypto illegal activities. So I'm not going to be surprise if they did take down those sites and started cleaning up. Other social media platforms used by cyber criminals (Twitter, Facebook) should do the same.

That is very natural to have someone against any idea especially when it is new and not all people are unfamiliarized with it. Well, I think some started from that status then eventually they have been convinced about the goodness of Bitcoin and the whole Cryptocurrrncy.

It is clear why it may also seem as an organized attack on certain youtubers, but 2-3 year old videos have also been taken down, some even 10years. If someone who has 10k users flags/reports some videos and they are actually taken down then there is a huge flaw in YT TOS. But I doubt such a huge platform under Google's umbrella lacks in that department.
Not sure what to think about this. Some articles claimed videos were about bitcoin, cardano and iota, but general info, trading details and concepts etc.

Exactly and we cannot blame them as because of the fact that this is new to them and that some people are there to protect people like the government so lets understand them and let us help them in understanding what crypto means, why it is important and necessary nowadays and why people are loving it and using it.

Some countries in the world accept cryptocurrencies such as China, South Korea, Japan ... The country of Cherry has legalized cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. Besides, there are still countries that ban Bitcoin. Especially in India! The central bank of India has banned financial institutions from trading on the internet or providing services to facilitate any individual or organization to process or settle cryptocurrencies.

oh again  ? recently i read a thread about youtube removing crypto content and i think it was normal but after i see this i feel that this issue was serious  there were could be a mastermind behind those removals  but why not creating a decentralized kind of video sharing site  ? that would be a good idea not only for the sake of crypto content but also good for uploading almost anything  .  i dont think its hard to do  but its easy because we have so many professional site builder these days and most of them were also involved on crypto

While its gong to have a hard time for decentralize youtube clone to become popular, its very possible to make as there is already and existing project. It only needs to have more content to it and probably upload the contents from youtube.

But I think not all videos related to crypto are deleted, they censored those hype and Ponzi scheme investment type of videos. You should understand the terms and conditions of youtube and become a Youtuber. It is not necessary to have ads on youtube probably exchanges, explaining what is crypto and how it works blockchain technology and bitcoin will be fine. To be honest, the video was deleted was all self-description for their own interest and might harm the viewer of youtube as an audience.

Oh trust me they don't want to do that lol. There are so many crypto streaming solutions that would really love to take over all the ads and money they are making every second. I would be very happy to seeing them pull this string because it's going to be a sure lose on their side. Well i invested into one streaming project called Destream and i would be glad if the entire cryptospace can move over there lol.

Wow, why they are doing it, maybe it's because of the project holders who were paying youtube to removed it, we really don't know behind this one. Yes, exactly, there are lots of big powers that are against the crypto, or maybe they are making FUD to make people panic, as they wanted to buy more of it.

It's visible just as it has been before. They want to deal with anything decentralized but trying to push out their stable coin they could control and still manipulate like the dead fiat which people keep running from. I can't tell why the government and big businesses are not advocating support for decentralized system despite the direction of the money future.

Surely there is a mastermind behind all of this, so far there is still no clarity as to why the content was lost suddenly, as soon as we will know the clarification.

I agree if a decentralized video sharing site is built, but how does it work to rival YouTube while YouTube has been able to monopolize some media markets. Especially the decentralized video sharing sites will be less controlled, they will be misused.

We cannot force everyone to be with us. India has its own reason why they banned bitcoin and why China played in bitcoin. The government wants to protect their citizens from the harm that may cause for investment in cryptocurrency. Well, other countries know the goodness that crypto might bring for them. Aside from technological growth. It can also help their citizen and economy to grow.

It is normal for big powers to go against a revolution where they will be incapacitated.  Government of several countries are really not into Bitcoin because they fear of Bitcoin's dominance in financial industry.  With regards youtube removal of cryptocurrency content, I think there is some violation of YT rule or some copy infringement had been made on that videos or probably it will have a negative effect on the economy.  What ever it is I believe there is a violation made.  Let us wait and see if YT will remove all cryptocurrency content in its platform.  It is too early to speculate something that is so unclear.

Due to the lack of credibility, You may face such type of crisis when you are on your way, for me, Cryptocurrency is like this, day by day Cryptocurrency is getting in difficulties because of having some specific negative aspects, I think it's all about the people's perception, Google, Youtube or any other platform are not playing with Cryptocurrency, I think they basically emphasis on the people's reaction so they may take such type of action against Cryptocurrency, I believe this type of crisis will not last for a long time.

Maybe the main reason why those people doesn't want cryptocurrency in youtube is because they always got left behind on our era. Maybe they cannot adapt that is why the main reason that they did is to report those cryptocurrency videos in the youtube platform.

Maybe it's intended for channels or content that contains an invitation to invest. considering that cryptocurrency there are still many pros and cons to the problem of regulatory and investor safety. Actually things like this are familiar since Google, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media gave a statement about the prohibition of spreading the news about cryptocurrency, but in the end, Facebook turned to support crypto and create Libra. Remember, this way will not affect the price of Bitcoin for sure. :-\

This is actually not surprising because cryptocurrency ads on Google web search have also been banned.
Especially with the video that has reached 7M views can potentially influence people who see according to the youtube.
As far as I know they say that cryptocurrency is high risk, therefore they try to limit all content about cryptocurrency.

This makes perfect sense when some people promote hyip sites and other illegal crypto activities through their YouTube channel and violate the rules that are supposed to be removed, but that does not mean we also support this action carried out by the youtube party. playing on the headline, I haven't seen their youtube channel that has a problem there is just a video that was deleted instead of their channel, but hopefully I'm wrong, everything should be fine as long as following the YouTube rules, phishing links and so on, this also needs to be watched out and not just care about content, filters before promoting any project about crypto

That's really the problem in crypto, they want to dominate it without understanding how it works. Why will you try to compete with a currency that can help to grow economy by using digital money to pay in easy transactions. Then I guessed some us promoters of altcoins out here are in big trouble. I never have imagined they would go beyond what I expected. Now even YouTube is in danger if they don't do proper actions. Well what do intent to do? Delete all the users or just blocked them if they are proven to be advertising crypto currencies?

It seems like just an attack, either personal or political, by other people unrelated to YouTube or Google. Google has been open on adopting cryptocurrencies. Maybe what they are doing to prevent the bitcoin to increase further is to handle huge amount of it and when time comes, they are selling to manipulate the market. Because basically they don't have any other things to implement to control the Bitcoin nodes around the world. It is all scattered around the world so with one country having regulations, it is not enough to control transactions.

So to sum up, big powers with cryptocurrency could be achieve if we try our best to hodl huge volume of cryptocurrency.

This might be the real situation, target attacks and mass flagging can get your contents down and i have not seen the team responding why the contents are taken down and it is because they were forced to remove the content because of mass flagging and if that is the case i hope they will reinstate all the videos back and flag the people who flagged the contents, how long this will go is also interesting.

This is most likely just a rumor and hope it will never happen, because Youtube up to now has a pretty good educational objective on crypto and I don't think there is a conflict that impacts on YouTube, it is possible that channels or videos that contain elements of fraud so its not like Youtube fighting to crypto but fight its fraud content.

Maybe because YouTube is growing so much that a lot of people are going to YouTube to be a vlogger or something so maybe YouTube is being more strict to prevent inappropriate things to happen. We all know that crypto community is more prone to crimes like scams and etc. I hope that this won't start a move against crypto because YouTube is actually a good platform in learning the basics about crypto. Some say about (a) certain telegram group(s) that orchestrated the attack, others blaim BSV, some go to the extent of claiming big dump ahead (did not unserstand if btc or alt) and "they" want to shut theese guys up (tho to be fair the Craig Wright theory may be slightly more plausible IMO).
Whatever it would be, seams YT may not be the main culprit here, which is good news either way :)
Seems they would need to tweak their community report system as looks like it may be exploited by a certain group. What is the end game is anyone's guess.

More such incidents have taken place in the past with Facebook, Twitter and other medias. Now YouTube has been experiencing some pressure as more news about cryptocurrencies and the way of usage is getting importance in the youtube. Governments always make people stay away from scams, and with such a intention this step might have been taken. But this is very hard decision, because with sole responsibility we need to analyze and invest than just going through videos.

I do not think so! Indeed, those who do not buy and invest are not left behind. They have the right to choose for themselves the appropriate investment direction. Many countries are against cryptocurrencies, so you can stop participating if you lose all your money. Cryptocurrencies are valuable but not yet widespread.

Yes indeed. Many of the countries are not really against the cryptocurrency nor they just haven't legalize yet the cyryptocurrency because they lack of knowledge about the crypto world. For example they dont know its advantages and disadvantages or even its own basic informations because yes the population of the user of cryptocurrencies are continuesly grows fast but still the population of the non users are still huge than the users

Definitely, cryptocurrencies will not disappear. Only those coins that do not have any benefit in themselves will disappear, do not solve any problems and do not find a response from investors. Moderation on youtube has recently tightened.

It is natural to assume those big incumbents will not release their grip on power and control. As a community, we have to be civil, innovative and delivery technologically better alternatives where the consumer makes the decision to switch to decentralized platforms. In my myopic view, this has nothing to do with the big powers clamping down on Cryptocurrencies; this act of Yutube will help to curb the lingering issue with scammers around the Cryptocurrency. Many content had been cloned and many have been scammed. This will bring more transparency and real contents only will be on the platform. It's a welcome development and should be applaud.

after I saw the video on youtube, I understood a little what made it in the video. but I also do not understand much about it.

I do really believe it is more than just the youtube payment system but the entire google could be subjected to the recent attacks because some applications are also being deleted and removed from playstore with regards to them being related directly to cryptocurrency. Or else, labeled as violated some terms and agreement which isn't true.

Though, this could be quite normal, but when we think about it, it is a huge lost for cryptocurrency space to lose one of the biggest media streams that could result to a very huge impact to its development and one of it is youtube.

Frankly speaking, it's their own loss. There are many big companies who have understood and started the research on crypto as well as blockchain. Sooner or later everyone will get to know the value. So holding our coins till then would be our goal to survive.

I thought this is clear by now, they announced that it was accidental and they reinstated all the deleted videos but till now there is no clarification on why those videos were removed in the first place, is it because of targeted reporting or something else is not clear with the response they gave. These social media sites are used to promote scams too and we have not seen any moderation on that until it is too late and if that is taken care then it would be fine and with clone sites there is nothing you will earn as the targeted audience are not crypto users but the general public who are not aware of the space.

Yes, it is the future and if they are not going to keep up they will regret it so much. They should be getting involved and invest early. They should be planning for the future by getting ready to make their own blockchain ready to launch ahead of everyone else instead of fighting it.

Who cares what YouTube or Google says about crypto? Have an opinion on Bitcoin, do not pay attention to other people's statements. That is how you reach the truth

Wise words. There are a lot of people talking shit about bitcoin out there, and we could have our own criteria to take desitions about the future of bitcoin.

An important part is to read the news and have some Information source, but you should never believe what you read, people should ask themselves about how real sound the article and how good is the source.

YouTube restored deleted contents and its now a settled issue b/w crypto and YouTube. YouTube said that its due to mistake in algorithm. I think there were just 250 videos which got affected due to this.
Same for Google, I don’t find any hurdle in find crypto contents through Google search.

Taking into account how Google is not afraid to try their hands on anything as long as they can make money with it, it surprises me they did not did the same as Facebook and tried to release their own cryptocurrency it seems as if they knew the reaction Facebook got will be guaranteed and that is why they have not even bother to do it, however we do not need Google or YouTube, as long as bitcoin is the superior currency that knowledge will eventually become widespread even if a ban on those services took place.

There will be many interests related to crypto, especially Bitcoin and its development.
At present crypto is very much developing and continues to grow. So there will be concerns if crypto will become the focal point of the worldwide financial system. In addition, many countries that have not legalized crypto are also due to the interests and conditions of each country whether they have been able to adopt it or not.

I'm also not sure about that especially if the promotion of crypto does not violate the broadcasting provisions on YouTube. Because I've actually heard the relation between one of the founders of YouTube with a crypto project. And they support it.

Since the birth of Bitcoin many people have been opposed to it but they have been unable to do anything.
You have to remember that the more people support bitcoin than the people who oppose it.

Big power come from government and fiat currency against cryptocurrency become legal payment at the future, they always fight how to make bad reputation of bitcoin and never allowed bitcoin become legal currency payment because can make their reputation have lower at the future, but I ask to big power never banned bitcoin as investment assets.

No one, no individual and no power or government can control, manipulate, ban, hack or kill a worldwide distributed open-source peer-to-peer cryptographically secured decentralised system. Bitcoins will continue to increase in value, more than gold and silver, there will only be 21 million bitcoins ever, they are cryptographically and mathematically secured, it is decentralized, so can't be banned, co-opted or confiscated/stolen by any central group or government, you hold your own private keys. The future economy is digital and decentralized.

This news is not anything new or surprise to us in the crypto space. It is a normal reaction by people who don't really understand and know what cryptocurrency or Bitcoin is and how relevant it is to the entire financial ecosystem. Also, people should understand that cryptocurrency do not need the acceptance of the so called big powers. They have no control over cryptocurrency or bitcoin...

Its quite alarming but I guess these people are also making money out of crypto. So most likely they cannot easily make some changes on it. There are lot of discussions about this already. If we always stick on it we will be left behind. Might as well be more productive and earn crypto more to bit the inflation rate.

Most of those that oppose bitcoin are the ones at the top, they do not want that bitcoin succeeds because that will mean they will have to adapt to a new set of rules that they cannot change and this is something they do not like at all, people in the other hand support bitcoin because they see in it the possibility of finally having a fair economy in which the governments cannot steal your money as easily as they can do now with inflation and their useless fiat.

I am not surprised. If Bitcoin gets worldwide acceptability, then the role of the middlemen in the financial sector will come to an end. When I mean middlemen, I am talking about the bankers, hedge fund managers, and those who operate money transfer and remittance services. Now Bitcoin is a direct competitor to these people and it pose an existential threat for them. Who will pay 10% for remittance service, if the same can be done with a Bitcoin-based system with just 1% fee? Also, who will keep the money in a bank account, if Bitcoin allows you to create your own wallet and store the money all by yourself?

I completely agree with your words, where you express the possibility of ending the detrimental influence of intermediaries on the world economy and on the quality of services for users.  But I would also like to mention the fact that if Bitcoin is legalized and recognized worldwide as an international cryptocurrency, means of payment and a valuable digital asset, this will lead to the completion of the state’s monopoly on increasing the amount of paper money that provokes huge inflation.

You just mentioned two of the benefits of bitcoins but in reality there are several such benefits which makes bitcoins stand a way further than the normal currencies or the middlemen who perform international transactions by charging excess fees.

The emergence of bitcoins might ruin their businesses which would always be a threat to them as well as the governments of various nations because the government too charges a lot of tax for such transactions which would be transacted for minimum charges with bitcoins.
