Apart from the coins you mentioned DASH and DOGE coins are also good coin to hold for longer term because they are existing in the market for longer term and also good for someone who have less capital to invest.

XRP and BNB can be good coins in 2020 but for more longer term their potential is still in question.

It is very good to hold bitcoin and ethereum in the long run but you have and more and more also add other coins that have upward potential like BTC and ETH and that can add to your portfolio.
TRX, LINK, LTC, DOGE BAT, BNB will be the best choice for you.
Because a lot of news this year the cryptocurrency market will grow well.

Bitcoin is my first choice. If you tell me without bitcoin then my choice will be BNB,ETH,LTC and EOS.from my side these coins will be profitable if I hold this more than 1 year.

For long terms, Bitcoin is the best bet.
It has a very viable and realistic prospects that it will continue to lead other tokens in the coinmarketcap.

You can then look towards litecoin as perhaps an alternative, but then dyor and don't get carried away.

Bitcoin should definitely be the first coin waiting on this list.  Ethereum may be second in the list until it can keep its current strength.  Anyway, I think most people will think from thus way.  Because those who can survive for a long time in crypto space are Ethereum and Bitcoin according to the current situation.

Holding bitcoin for more than an year is a very brilliant idea for any trader and investors as in the end of this year the price of each bitcoin will be much higher and maybe the McAfee prediction comes correct and we all become millionaires with holding bitcoin.
I also sometimes think that if ETH will have the potential to reach to its ATH of 0.12 BTC then buying it is also very great as if we will buy with one bitcoin then we will have multiple bitcoins at ETH all time high price. But with ETH I have a little doubt.

All my portfolio are based on coins that I'm not afraid to hold more than a year, and this is true, because last year I barely touched in my coins because of my lack of time

My portfolio are based on BTC, ETH, XMR, ETC and LTC

I agree with your choice, both Bitcoin and Ethereum looks good long term holding. Apart from these two cryptocurrencies, I also like Binance Coin. It has many use cases and might find a more wide implementation with the development of Binance Chain.

Everyone will agree that Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, LINK are the best investment for 2020! But I would prefer more alts that can be a good investment for this year! Coins like EOS, NEO, XMR, XRP, MKR, DASH, LEO, ATOM, TRX, IOTA, BAT, ONE are good coins too. In the next bull run, these coins will be huge surely! If you have enough money for investment, then you may split it on these coins!

In fact, the entire cryptocurrency market is one. Out of the whole variety of coins, I would choose between Bitcoin and get covered with an altcoin with a high level of capitalization and a technologically secure base, it is desirable that there are real prerequisites for using altcoin in real life, ideally everywhere without complex technical skills.

Honestly speaking, lightening btc network and mining reward halving on may 2020, are the important factors for next btc boost. More demand, less supply, technical improvement will make btc more strong. ETH will have modification too. So btc and eth are my bet. I am very positive about baanx and aimedis. Lets see what comes next

Right now because I have seen its spikes for weeks, I will be holding my EOS for more than a year probably. I have stopped betting my EOS on its gambling dapps for a week now. I can't remember how much I have wasted to these casinos, I'm not winning over time. Not holding much but had diversified the investment I have with TRON and EOS right now, cheaper coins I guess for people with less money to invest.

If it is for long term holding (like more than a year), then yeah, I would go for coins like you are holding. Bitcoin would be on my top list. This is the first crypto currency and when anyone hears about "blockchain" or "crypto currency", the first thing they that comes to their mind is Bitcoin. Since it is really well known and widely used, the price of bitcoin is bound to increase in the long run. For other coins, I would split my investment and go for ETH, LTC, Doge and other well known coins.

i also agree with bitcoin and ethereum, you should have those coin for the future, aside from that, i also love mco and cro, i see potential on those coins, i also love xrp and xlm but i saw a lot of bad reviews and comments about it, so for the mean time i use them for short term only, but the best thing to do is to check the project read a lot of reviews, trade history, people behind it, real case use, road map and white paper before you put your money to crypto for long term.

It really depends where we are on the market cycle. I rather not hold any coin if and when we flip to another bear run. But in the meanwhile i see btc eth and leo worth keeping in portfolio.

In my opinion it depends on what is your goal to hold any cryptocurrency for a period of a year.

For a long term gain the best coins are the top 5 coins on CMC. Long term is more than a year. As per me I would hold two coins for a year and they are BNB, LINK and ORIGIN. Ain one year these three can return you a profit of more that 2x.

Perhaps add IOTA to the list, but those three coins, BTC, ETH and IOTA would round out my list.

I don't have faith in the majority of small cap coins in the long run. Sure, they can achieve decent gains in the short term given sufficient market interest and hype around their project, but in the long term it is very difficult to envision any sort of real growth in their fundamentals which is what ultimately drives price growth.

There is a reasonably limited amount of coins that you can confidently say that it'll perform in relative stability and lead the wider markets. BTC and ETH are two. IOTA is more of a growth alternative.

I prefer to hold bitcoin as the main portfolios and just try to fill my wallet with another coin like dash, chainlink and many more as long as it has proper development and i may put it into my portfolios.
Im not only betting on the major event that will be made by major coin but let's focus to the small event that will create by a good altcoin too.
Remember the potential to get a huge return like BCH or even dash only come to the altcoin.

For it is XRP for most of the popular altcoins in the market this XRP has a lot of potential in the market. Unlike bitcoin which has a high price in the market could also have a high demand and a high transaction fee because of the demand. Compared to XRP which doesn't have high transaction fee at the same time you could invest for a high volume of long term investment for sure we already see the market price of XRP pumping in the market for the past month and I think this is one of the best altcoins in the market that is alternative to bitcoin. There is also an advantage since it doesn't have so many users so for sure there is no traffic in the network sending this tokens, the transactions could take less than 5 seconds and a very low transaction fee that is less than 1 cent is I think to make it a great investment.

And still, I think bitcoin for long term investment is still great and even for short term investment since bitcoin market price is volatile like what is happening in the market today the dump from 12k $ to 7k$ and then now it is starting to recover to 8k-9k$ which is really a great news for a lot of investors.

For holding for a long time, there is no better coin except Bitcoin! The crypto market's pumps and dumps depend on Bitcoin's movement! So, this is the best coin for investment. Therefore Ethereum, TRX, XMR, LTC are the best from the altcoins section, and I prefer them too. If everything happens according to the previous records of Bitcoin halving, then there will be huge growth in these altcoins!

Bitcoin is always my first choice because its always been profitable not just in holding but even in trading coins. We can also count on to ethereum especially if its reach its ATH again but i don't think when will it happen again. But with bitcoin, there are bigger chances to make huge profits after a year of holding.

Even theres a lot of good new project appear in the market I'm always stick to Bitcoin and Ethereum why? Because for a long term run we cannot know if those new project can survive but I'm sure bitcoin and ethereum will continue to dominance in the future and more people will surely know the benefits of cryptocurrency. Tobe honest on a long run we cannot know what will happen to the price of bitcoin and ethereum.

I am not a true holder, but if I had to choose, I would choose ETH and BTC to hold it in the long run. I hold a little ETH in my wallet, as a gas reserve for the transaction, if the price of the ETH pump hopefully becomes more valuable. Well, I'm more interested in trading than being a holder, I don't know, it's just a matter of my interest.

I also think so. To be a quality token or coin and have a strong market interest, it takes a lot of time, so it's better to choose coins and tokens that have proven quality.

Ethereum is a big no for me, I keep saying it, it is a wastr of time holding it when I did. For two years my lose was bigger than the gain. And moreover, it was not only about the gain, little new development are been done.
I hold mostly Bitcoin, Japanese Ethereum and few other  altcoins. I really have high hopes for them and the changes they will bring in the long run. Most importantly seeing more people transacting will this coins will be great joy.

Proven by time and any market behavior that bitcoin has been consistent all of this time. There's no need to replace it from my portfolio that's why I have allocated a larger portion for it rather than with any altcoin.

Ethereum is also good, I'm still good with this coin and waiting for the positive result of what it's going to do with the PoS replacement. Although sometimes when I'm alone and realizing, I almost give up with this coin.

Holding more than a year is not suitable for me, I do not have high patience to hold my coin in years, I'm a trader but I'm also a trend follower. The meaning of the trend follower is I will only buy and hold if the trend is in bullish. I want to build a solid portfolio that consists of few altcoins and bitcoin. Ethereum and bitcoin is now in my watchlists again because it seems that there will be a market reversal that will happen.

If you are looking for a long-term investment, it is only Bitcoin could give you assurance of gaining profit. However, It is not 100% that you can double or triple your money in a year cause we know market volatility that will change its course in the future.

Other than that, we could also consider the top 5 altcoins but ain't good for a long-term hold (just for me). It all depends the market position and as a holder/investors, we also have to track our coins every now and then to check if we are in good or not.

Choosing Bitcoin in my opinion is appropriate, if it is to hold for a period of one year.
Altcoin which I hold in a year must be established in the market and has the potential to increase every year such as BNB, LTC, and dash.
I believe these three altcoins will follow the price of the BTC.

I personally can't see 1year+ holding potential in any major cryptocurrency (BTC, ETH, XRP, LTC, BTH etc.), but they're profitable enough to hold for 1-3 months.
But I noticed great sideways activity in NEO charts and how I use it like safe place to hold big funds I yet don't know where to put in.

Unlike any market situation bitcoin will give profit out of the investment. With bitcoin I never go with a targeted holding, I just hold practicing buy/sell to get small profit out of the difference. This will help in making the holding value increase little by little. Apart from bitcoin the next big thing in the market is ethereum. I try to buy a small amount of ethereum whenever there is small excess amount in hand after meeting all the daily needs.

Bitcoin and ethereum contribute increased percentage while other altcoins with low price on the top order as well as few altcoins having increased trading volume.

For long-term storage, I did choose bitcoin and until now I'm still little by little bought it. For altcoin, it seems I am still a little doubtful, I better play short term only when profit is visible, I will sell.
I am sure mid-2020 to 2021 will be a very good year for bitcoin itself.

It is indeed the two of the best coins to hold for more than a year, if you want less risk then go for those two. But I personally prefer Binance coin to hold, the coin have more potential to grow as they are burning some tokens quarterly and no doubt that their binance chain are still growing with top class altcoins in the market.

I also have a lot of options for the time being but currently should only hold Bitcoin and some good coins in top 100 because these are very popular options for everyone. I think LTC, DASH, BNB can help you to make good profits in the long term but you should consider selling if possible because this market is often very volatile and can not predict what will happen next.

Of course, the investment decision is yours and no one can intervene so make the right choice for your investment.

I'd prefer to hold Bitcoin for long term. awaiting for next All Time High

For me, Holding altcoin for long term is often risky, it is just good for short term.
altcoin is often pump more than 10% in minutes, if we can take advantage, we could be rich in short time too.

Considering the nature of the altcoin market, holding unto a particular coin for more than a year will not be the wisest investment plan. The entire nature of the altcoin market is suitable for daily trading or margin trading rather than holding the coin for more than a year. It might be worth less than the initial amount you purchased it. The year 2018 and 2019 are typical example of how it is unsafe to hold altcoins for a long time.

I prefer to hold bitcoin especially if I have huge amount of money for investment but if I have not that much money for investment I will put it in ethereum and XRP.

As they are very affordable right now and they will surely reach a new ATH every peak of the market and if I can hold them for more than a year then I will surely profit in the long run.

If youre a long term holder then why not try to hold PoS coin that has pretty decent interest. Binance has offering a lot of staking coin which all you need to do is hold it for a period of time. I am holding btc also and eth but Ive prefer to add some good staking coins that are profitable just by holding. Also In my portfolio is binance which is good for holding cause you benefit a lot from it.

In my case, I would probably hold Bitcoin and XRP for a long time since it is available on our wallet in our country. We can exchange it to our fiat money whenever we want. Plus the fact that this coin is popular and most trusted coin by the investors. Market ranking really matters because investors will look up into it first before they are going to invest into it.

i would still be holding Ripple (XRP) as it has an enormous potential growing x10 years from now. It can even surpass Etherium as its transactions were faster and its system can be applied in various transaction programs. It was even been adopted by Facebook for its digital payment feature, and can be seen having fast transactions with a very cheap fee.

When it comes to holding cryptocurrency for long term, it's wise to hold only coin whose foundation is strong and could withstand the volatility of the market. Bitcoin, ETH, LTC and BNB are the currencies that I have chosen to hold for long. Sometimes I sell them as USDT but as soon as I feel good I will buy them back.
Among the coins mentioned above, BTC is a coin that is always in my wallet, in all cases I still keep some BTC for myself.

I started to think about holding BCH and BCH SV. Noting this increase, I think that holding alt results from bitcoin fork is very good. That's because, since 2017, BCH has always been developing earlier than ETH, and others. to be honest I still hold bitcoin and ETH, but at this time I might change my portfolio.

I personally prefer to hold bitcoin and ethereum. They are good coin and more potential to hold for long term.
Everyone in cryptocurrency also knows that bitcoin and ethereum are good coins to hold in the long run. And for me personally maybe you can add some other coins to be invested such as litecoin, bnb and ripple. I think the coin is good to hold for a long period of time and can also give you benefits later. But, this is just my opinion, you might be able to make your own observations about some coins that others suggest.

Apart from the coins you mentioned DASH and DOGE coins are also good coin to hold for longer term because they are existing in the market for longer term and also good for someone who have less capital to invest.

XRP and BNB can be good coins in 2020 but for more longer term their potential is still in question.
DOGE is a good currency to invest in the short term but it is not a good currency to hold for long. If anyone who watches DOGE can recognize, the value of doge hasn't changed much over the years. Besides doge is a currency with infinite supply so choosing to hold it long term is not wise.

Bitcoin, ethereum, Litecoin and Binance coin (btc, eth, LTC and bnb) are my top favourite coins that I can hodl for more than one year, apart from Bitcoin those coins are like a sleeping giant ready to wake up when bitcoin regains it bullish sentiment they would also pump massively.

of the coins you mentioned you still keep ethereum for the next year will provide a very high risk because the supply of ethereum is unlimited and difficult to make the price go up, it's better you can save coins that have limited supply for example Bitcoin, Bitcoin SV and BCH I think with these three coins is enough for an annual investment because every year the supply of this coin will certainly be thinning and will be increasingly difficult to obtain.

Im holding bitcoin and eth as well for more than a year now. Though I already take profit to my btc holdings im still accumulating additional btc to hold because it seems this year will be good for btc.

On the other side there's no much progress in eth however I still believe that in time all the waiting will be paid off. I have bnb, ltc and iost as well.

You have a right decision because all we know that those two coins are the most fast moving and most progressive coin here in crypto world so the trust of people is already on them. But for me I will invest more to bitcoin up to 70% and leave the remaining 30% at eth because I think bitcoin's progress is faster.

but are you sure about your decision to prefer bitcoin 70%? Have you predicted that Bitcoin will experience buble? many professional buble traders will occur after this bullishness, it is uncertain whether or not it is correct, but if it is true, it will be bad news for btc lovers.
I think it would be wise to see the benefits and also the risks.

There are still some alternatives besides ETH for the long term. LTC, DOGE, and XLM are still very reliable.
They have lasted a long and stable market, almost like BTC. Besides that the price is also still very affordable, this makes it easy for us to save it as an asset other than BTC.

Everything else is 2017 so I guess that makes me a real holder!

Same here, I always look at ETH as potential token, it had proven its worth.  Aside from that, I will also hold XRP, though this cryptocurrency is controversial, at least it has a solid development team and solid project.  I won't bother to hold EOS with its kind of wallet maintenance to ensure transaction, users will stay away from it.

I also hold ethereum for a long time investing in it. Since he became worth less than two hundred dollars. When he returns his price of one thousand bucks, and this will happen, I will think what to do, depending on the situation. But I also keep a lot of altcoins that I invest in during the ICO, because these are good projects, albeit very young ones, which were created not at the best time.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, and IOTA, these three cryptocurrencies, I have held them for a very long time, and I have hope for the future development of this project. In the future, the blockchain market I want to become very large and can be in our lives. It can replace many things and has a good performance in the economic crisis. In the past, I like to collect gold, but it is not suitable for transportation. Therefore, cryptocurrency is a good choice.

because the two coins bitcoin and ethereum have been proven to last long on the crypto market and already have a large trading volume, market capitalization and community. and these two coins can also be used for real. so the possibility of a crash is very small. whereas new altcoins are largely unable to last long on the crypto market or survive but do not have trading volume. so it's better to buy the top 10 coins even though the increase is not as high as altcoin but can last a long time in the crypto market.

I think we should choose the safest investment for a long time. Innovation does not matter here a lot. For example, btc - a coin that has remained in the first place even though it has not innovated for many years, and our trust is endless. Also eth, it is the second most important coin in the market, at the same time, it is still trying to improve and keep up with today.

No one will say " NO " about bitcoin because this is popular coin arpound the world. For crypto users they don't need to search where is the exchanges and wait listing process. Besides that this is down trend, crypto users can get many bitcoin in low price for investment purposes. Many bitcoin project has prestige and positive respond from crypto users and that's meaning trust. Hold more than a year only fit for bitcoin and others is nothing.

Been holding bitcoin for more than a year, going 4 this 2020. While I also have some other alts like ETH and XRP and others that I wasn't able to monitor but will put time to monitor them. It's time to focus only on good coins and sell those who almost no value.

Likewise here I was holding different shitcoins which had promising price last two years ago, and now the worst was less valuable. Meanwhile even though the price of my asset hasn't gain so good by now, I will prefer to start buying xrp and hold it at longer timeline. With that there's a chance to acquire assurance to meet a profitable value. This coin was potential to go higher in parallel with bitcoin's increase.

One only. Bitcoin

This is the only coin that I can hold for a year or more than a year. There are some reasons why I choose only one coin right now.
One is that I don't have enough funds to buy another coin like Ethereum or Ripple so I will just hold one coin and it is Bitcoin.
Two is if I will choose between Bitcoin and Ethereum, I trust Bitcoin more although it has a slower tx speed :D. Many people believe that Bitcoin will yield more profit for the investors and I'm one of them that is why I will choose to hold Bitcoin for the long term.

Of course, I'll try to have some ETH as part of my journey in crypto but I could have more share with Bitcoin than of Ethereum. These two coins certainly have a growing market spread and for a reason that they are one of the top coins in the market, it probably they'll have a big opportunity that it becomes attractive to the investors in the coming years.

Good coin resistant for this year, because the altcoin season I think will start from the various coins that are in the top Coinmarketcap already showing the price on the ride.
So I prefer what you said for the long-term. But for short-term can try the low-cost altcoin to get a moment at the Altcoin season later.

Because most of here are bitcoin aspirants. Cryptocurrency live because of bitcoin and ethereum. These two pioneer cryptocurrencies need to be acknowledged also since they developed the crypto industry.
Yes, there are many alts around here but some of them have fake volumes, slow development and unfinished products.
But even with having that reason, i do agree with novaprime, there are altcoins out there that is better to hold for long term, if only people will try to look and will investigate it, it will help to at least have more options.
That is why doing research is a must to avoid those kinds of altcoin that have fake volumes or any altcoin that can give a negative result to your investment.

It's gonna Bitcoin, because why not?
If there's gonna be an alternative "Bitcoin" for me, it would still be Ethereum in my own end. It's plan ABABABA.
Other coins in the market would be just like a 1 day of a day trade for me, but hey I ain't yet going back to that. Still gonna stick to these two long-term hodl. I'll take advices from other people though for long-term hodling.

For long terms, Bitcoin is the best bet.
It has a very viable and realistic prospects that it will continue to lead other tokens in the coinmarketcap.

You can then look towards litecoin as perhaps an alternative, but then dyor and don't get carried away.
Above any other coin in the market , bitcoin will always be the best coin amony other coin and still the best coin to be hold this year, when you buy bitcoin last year there is a big profit now if you will see how much the bitcoin now will be, as well as bitcoin is having a halving this year. The next coin that I am holding is XRP  and this two coin is good for me.

bnb and coins that have market utility and prerequisites for ieo on the top exchange are still good for long-term hold. useful for fee discounts without having to trade it more actively and not having to see prices too often, their prices are also quite cheap for now, and have bright potential according to the reputation of each exchange.

I think most crypto users would also like to hold bitcoin for moree than a year because they are waiting for bitcoin to increased it's price up to 20k USD again, so that they could gain back all of their losses in the year of 2018. But other than bitcoin i would like to hold BNB for more than a year because i am expecting that it would have a great value in the future.

actually coins that have a real platform will be able to survive, like BNB which has a real platform until now they still survive maybe in the price has experienced ups and downs but in the next one year I think it will have potential if invested.

I have no doubt that holding these two will be all worth it because these two have shown great potential for years. Things will surely get better these coming days.

We are sharing the same thought because I also personally prefer to hold into both Bitcoin and Ethereum not just for a year but for a long term run. I find both Bitcoin and Ethereum potential or good for long term run that is why despite of the down falls that happens after a couple of months of bull run way back 2017 that lasted until the very late 2019, I still keep into holding with my Bitcoin and Ethereum and have never give up nor loose hope because I do know and understand why such thing is happening and I believe into their capacity and capability of growing in a span of time. Although it takes time to happen, at least it is worth the patience and time of waiting. I have been satisfied in the start of this year 2020, for the reason that even at this early stage of this year, Bitcoin has already risen up its price which is a good indication for a better opportunity to come this year. I am also waiting for Ethereum's price hike to take also its place, it is still early so I expect that there is enough time to wait and see what will happen next to Ethereum.

Obviously, Bitcoin and etherium would be the coins to hold for years. It’s everybody’s choice.
BCH is also a good one. I think it has had one of the highest booms in 2020.
Others I would like to hold for years are EOS, BNB, and XRP. All at one’s risk.
I  have my eyes on some project tokens. But still not convinced of their potentials. I will surely be holding most of those project tokens for long.

Aside from bitcoin and ethereum, bch and binance is also a good choice. Many strong competitors in the ranking of altcoins have great potential to further grow in one year span. Hopefully, many of them will be used more often and more adoption to other industries will take place this year so, holding to them now in 2020 will be beneficial not only to the investors but to the whole crypto industry.

When it comes to holding a coin for more than a year. My best bet is holding the bitcoin. This is because there's a great possibility for the value of Bitcoin to increase in the long term as against the numerous altcoin in the market. Ethereum would have been my second option, but I'm sceptical about what the value could be in few years time.

By now, most crypto traders will choose bitcoin as their first choice to hold in long term basis. Alts come and go but bitcoin remains. Though we experienced slow increase for the past years, yet, we are now reaping the aftermath of those long bearish market. Bitcoin starts to move upward and this time, though slow, at least there is some foundation to it. I wonder how much it would reach come this halving period?

What are you trying to say? Bitcoin and ethereum is mainly for a midterm hodling? I guess not, because for me, hodling bitcoin and ethereum is the bravest decision every trader or hodling ever made, because it was only once or twice in a year (sometimes there's none) that we could experience great profits in these cryptos, while on altcoins, they could trade for a short term trading, why would I exclude bitcoin and ethereum? Because fees are considerably high, so trading bitcoin and ethereum is mainly for a long term basis.

yes, Bitcoin SV is one of a good coin to invest but I'll just give you some warn regarding this coin https://www.fxstreet.com/cryptocurrencies/news/bitcoin-sv-plunges-42-from-2020-highs-lawyer-reveals-craig-wright-has-no-private-keys-202001190900

There are many different cryptos having huge potential to have a market value uprise once recovery occur but only few would be good for long term holding. Only those which have generated a huge community  of users including demand and volume, would surely be the ideal cryptos to hold. Specifically, big names in this industry as Bitcoin. Holding the new ones would give a bigger risk compared to holding the 'big' ones.

It's very funny how people are able to find a simple way to minimize their risk anytime they invest into cryptocurrencies. The reason why most of you might go for major coins is because they have huge marketcap and a ready market but truth be told you would need to invest quite a huge amount of money in order to make substantial profits from major coins like ETH and BTC. But with low cap coins who have very good use case you are likely to make huge profits hence my choice to invest in $DIVI at the moment. It's a very cheap coin and i am filling my bags till the project gets much more exposure in this industry.

Very necessary to play safe buddy, to be on the safe side, Bitcoin is best for long term. Then altcoins can fill in for short to mid term hold, since very few altcoins are usually profitable in the long run. Sometimes you hold coins while the developers hope to dump on you, that's the irony.

My long-term portfolio is Bitcoin, ETH, NEO, BNB, XLM and ADA .. these are altcoins I consider to be the best and safest for long-term investments.

As of now, I am holding three coins for more than 2 years. These are: Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum. I have sold most of my altcoin holdings, especially those smaller tokens and shitcoins. Looking back, I have no regrets. Almost all of those shitcoins have lost their value, ever since I sold them. My only regret is with BSV. When I sold my BSV coins, the price was somewhere around BTC0.008 per coin.

I personally prefer to hold bitcoin and ethereum. They are good coin and more potential to hold for long term.

I have several coins that I hold for long term and those are Ethereum, Waves, Nem, Qtum, Neo, Utk, Eos, Kcs, Bnb and more depending on the coins that will become in demand in the future. But of course you can still check them out in the google search where it can give a lot of options to look for your query.

I prefer to hold both for a very long time. As we can see from what happened for the past few years of crypyo, Bitcoin has always been on the very top and right next to it was Ethereum. Regardless of the crisis both has experienced before, they were both able to keep their positions and stay on the very top amidst all the new altcoins being released. They are the pioneers and they made it so far which makes them deserving for the recognition and acknowledgement of being the best coins in the market for a very long period of time.

I agree if you want to be assured that your investments have a higher chance of earning in the long run then go for bitcoin and Ethereum as they continue to be adopt by more people across the world. But if you want some high risk high return then go with some altcoins that have future like BNB, XRP or ERD.

I can't argue more, Bitcoin and Ethereum are the top priority followed by XRP and BNB, etc. Also, I also have those active in the development of those top 10 ng coin market cap. I have those altcoins but it is just for the adventure and not confident enough if they pump somewhere in the future.  ;D

agree with you, i personally prefer to choice bitcoin than another coins if hold for long term. this case also happen to me where i lose a lot of money cause only i do not choice bitcoin. bitcoin more profitable than another coins has high risk if hold for long term. moreover you sell your bitcoin in bitcoin halving coming its will be give you high benefits.

My advice, in the future you must be smarter in choosing altcoin. Indeed Bitcoin is very good to last more than one year. but if we want to invest in the long run, the top 10 altcoins are also good for us to invest in making a satisfying profit.
If we are in comparison with bitcoin then none of the coin come best for investing in and holding for more than one year because many coins will do best but none of them will be able to compete bitcoin and it is possible that in the coming future it is legalized all over the world and give a much higher profit to the investors.

Yes! I believe in BNB as well, since bnb in a product of a well known exchange, I think as long as the exchange is running so great still the coin will be at a higher potential as well, as we can see both the coin and the exchange are being as one of the top 100 exchange and coin in the whole crypto industry, so I believe I will hold it the whole year as well.

It is a very tough question, without a right answer. But for long term, I prefer to hold only top 20 crypto currencies, the old ones. I am pretty sure that 95 percent of all crypto will disappear in several years, but top 20 should stay stable :)

Yeah, there are so many coins that make a profit for investors but long term investing is really good in the case of bitcoin. I saw bitcoin for years it never had the same price but it moves as high and low so if it’s high keep holding and if low then try to buy some. In case to invest in other altcoins we can try ETH and Ripple they are good but I prefer the only bitcoin to invest my money for long term holding.

I think most cryptocurrency users definitely hold bitcoin and ethereum because these two coins are the main coins and also the most famous among other coins. and these two coins are very suitable for long-term investment. because the possibility of these two coins to crash is very small. and for the next coin I choose binance and litecoin.

If we want to focus on the smaller ones that may one day worth something, waves is a great example. It is certainly supported by a good community and it is definitely at the right ranks to go up even further, its around 50ish levels in ranking which means going towards top ten would make them go up in price a lot and thats the kind of coin we should all try to aim at, not at the top level because they can't go too much up, but not at like 753th position neither, at around 50 you both have the ability to be known and liked by many but also have the potential to go up a lot as well.

so far, the coins that I have been holding for more than 1 year are bitcoin and ETH. for bitcoin, the development is quite good, when viewed since 2019. However, for ETH, the development is not too large, I want to exchange it for ETC, but it seems I'm late. For now, I still think that BTC and ETH are very good coins to hold in the long run, especially if it's 1 year or more.

I'm an active trader where I always executing daily trades because of the excitement that I keep feeling. But for those who want to hold more than a year, buy cryptocurrencies that havehigh volume where there is a guarantee that it will not delisted in the market.

Bitcoin is the way to go if we are talking holding here, im sure there are altcoins out there that will out gain bitcoin under a year but its very risky to pick up unknown coins because of the risk of scamming or devs abandoning the project, it's also the same with exchange coins because of exit scam or getting hacked.

Ecxx is one of the worst bullshit conversations I've ever seen. And I don't understand why the new members are trying to promote it like that, BNB is a good altcoin to hold but for Ecxx I won't choose it. In addition, choosing altcoins in the top 20-50 coinmarket is also a great choice, as long as the altcoin market goes up, all will help you get significant profits.

I also like holding BTC and ETH in the long term, I believe that both will help me gain profits in the future. Also, I tried to bet some money on altcoins at the bottom and hope it could be pumped up many times. A lot of people choose to hold altcoin cheap, they think the price will increase in the future and they will be more profitable. But for me, the cheaper altcoins are the quicker to die, and I don't want to lose all my assets when investing in such altcoins.

BTC and ETH are an excellent choice. they are the most reliable and promising coins. However, I think that they will not give such growth as some altcoins. In any case, you need to have them in your portfolio, but I would also add a few promising coins from the top 10 -20, I think they will bring more profit in the future.

There is no doubt that BTC and ETH is greatest coin of crypto industry doesn't matter you want to hold them or staking them. Beside that i love to recommend XLM and ADA. In my experience those coin have too much possibility to give you good annual profit.

Well when it comes to long period holding its really best to choose a well-established coins like bitcoin and eth. This is to ensure that your coins will not turn to shitcoins and can manage to bounce back when the market turns bearish. So its better allocate a huge portion for bitcoin and eth, then choose other altcoins that you think is worthy to hold by doing an extensive research.

I'm not disputing this fact but don't you think adding a few altcoins will make much sense? For instance, with a trader plus investor mindset, I will prefer holding a few coins and not just one. OP asking which coin to hold for more than a year should know almost everyone will go for BTC, but in practice who holds only BTC? I would prefer holding BTC, ETH and maybe ADA. Reason why I added ADA is because I'm expecting architecture improvements after Shelley hardfork.

I think about it the same way! When we talk about long-term holding, BTC and ETH are always the way to go! Those well-known coins are too famous and too big, so we can invest in them with less worry than others. However, that's just the safe way to go but investing isn't about safety. Investing is about risks, investing in altcoins can be riskier than top coins but it will bring much more profits! That's your call!

I think the market is recovering right now and it's the good time to buy back BTC and ETH as well in order to expect for a pump! Most traders believe that sooner or later this year, there'll be a bullish season. They expect the launching of ETH 2.0 will bring a good sign to the market and trigger other coins to pump. I hope so too! For me, I'm holding BTC and ETH, I don't see too much risk of holding those coins right now.

It is better to diversify your portfolio when it comes to investments. As the saying goes : don't put all your eggs in one basket. However, you need to evaluate each and every coin that you want to invest with. Not all coins that are in top 10 have strong foundation. So better look for its possible long term application in the market.
