Title: Loans offered
Post by: smooth on March 19, 2014, 08:20:42 AM
Collateralized loans only, unless you have insanely strong reputation (in which case I probably already know who you are so if I don't, don't bother).

I have 100+ BTC to lend. I can raise more if there is a strong proposal.

I have a long-term reputation on this forum and I can point to other trading reputation.

Minimum loan amount is 0.05 0.5.

PM or reply with loan requests meeting these criteria.

How do you guys work out collateral on here?

Title: Re: Loans offered
Post by: smooth on March 19, 2014, 06:53:57 PM
It has to be collateral that is readily transferrable either to the lender or to a trusted escrow (and then of course back to the borrower after the loan is repaid). Altcoins (especially LTC) is considered the best collateral but I'm quite flexible on a case by case basis.

Title: Re: Loans offered
Post by: snarlpill on March 19, 2014, 11:06:34 PM
I see, that makes sense but as far as myself I don't have any Litecoins, so in order to have collateral I would probably have to go buy LTC with fiat right?

I'm flexible about collateral but it has to be something that can be easily transferred and (if necessary) liquidated. If you have something that meets those requirements then lets talk.

You're a good guy OP.

OP is great guy  ;D

We worked out our deal very quickly. Prompt messaging and a pleasure to work with.

Even with some chance happenings we were able to work everything out.

I used cryptostocks.com holdings as collateral (you can transfer stocks from account to account)

Thanks again Smooth!

P.S. many stocks on there are fairly volatile so be careful!

I'm a newbie so I won't ask for loans since I've seen plenty of people around here getting ready to jump newbies for "being scammers".

I was just curious to ask if you use btcjam for lending money ? (I have my request there, but it's not related to this topic).

I would loan against my car to pay my studies but unless you're from the EU, it wouldn't work.

Anyway, cheers and good luck finding good investment opportunities.

edit : spelling mistake

I don't use btcjam. I checked out the site a little bit and didn't really like it. Can't say what I didn't like about it, just a preference.

If you want to lend you don't really need a reputation. If you want to borrow you generally need collateral

Care to mention what's the interest rate on which ur are offering the loan ???

Title: Re: Loans offered
Post by: smooth on March 21, 2014, 09:51:10 PM
It depends on the situation. I tend to be on the side of lower interest rates but being very demanding in terms of collateral. I do not want to charge everyone extra to make up for the loans that go bad. I want to avoid bad loans. Both are reasonable ways of making money, but my focus is more on the side of good loans.

New loan to ClutchThese. I'm giving seller financing on the sale of an AntMiner S1 which is held by me as collateral until paid off.  The loan and mining is visible at

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1N7wXVJTtPBuW2HRTxrQpBbdXCZ3wmS17c
https://blockchain.info/address/1N7wXVJTtPBuW2HRTxrQpBbdXCZ3wmS17c

Once the balance at that address reaches the sale price of 0.938 plus hosting at 0.05 per 15 days (due in advance) plus interest of 1% per week (due in advance), with a maximum term of one month the loan will be considered paid off and the miner will be shipped to ClutchThese priority mail at the seller/lender's expense. Down payment of 0.365 already made and additional payments may be made at any time.

Initial balance of the loan is 0.62823

The miner has been moved to another pool so it is no longer possible to monitor the mining and the mining no longer automatically applies toward repayment. The above links are still valid for repayment but the eligius link will stop accruing value.

Confirmed. Thanks for doing this. ghash.io should allow me to pay back the loan at a much faster rate. Are you able to withdraw the funds from eligius and apply it towards the loan yet? I believe this will require the minimum threshold to be moved down.

Thanks again!

I can but I am deliberately waiting because they sometimes pay out old shares, so I'd rather let it accumulate for a while rather than have a few shares produce a tiny balance later. You can consider the balance there as counting toward payment of the loan even though it doesn't show on the loan address yet.

EDIT: Looks like you did well to move. Two more terrible rounds today.

Seems like that site is slowly losing speed.

ghash.io has a lot more going for it than simply mining. I think that's the biggest reason it's gaining miners in a huge fashion.

I would like to inquire about a small loan. I am not familiar with your lending practices, however, I will make my case. To begin with the basics of a loan structure, I am prepared with a downpayment (collateral of approximately 22.5 litecoins). While I am a new member of the bitcointalk community, I do have a strong understanding of finance and accounting (which I can discuss in a PM), and I am confident that my business plan has a revenue stream to compensate you for the credit risk and to give me the infusion of capital to further develop my business infrastructure. My loan request is for 1.95 bitcoins.

I could speak to you further about my revenue streams in private message, and it may give you an understanding of the risk level of my business. Given my new member status and the fact I have not had the opportunity establish a reputation in this community, I will be open to your lending policies and understand your position. Please inform me of escrow procedures and the formation of a promissory note for this lending offer. Thank you, and please private message me.

I require acceptable collateral equal to or greater than the value of the loan in almost all cases (100% of cases involving unknown Newbies).

Declined.

I've never done this lending thing before so let's give it a try.

Collateralized loans only, unless you have insanely strong reputation (in which case I probably already know who you are so if I don't, don't bother).

I have 10+ BTC to lend. I can raise more if there is a strong proposal.

I have a long-term reputation on this forum and I can point to other trading reputation (localbitcoins, etc.). I'm not looking to take your collateral or anything like that. Just looking to make good loans.

Minimum loan amount is 0.05.

PM or reply with loan requests meeting these criteria.

New loan to tkeod. I'm giving seller financing on the sale of an AntMiner S1 which is held by me as collateral until paid off.

The loan payoff address is

https://blockchain.info/address/1MHEksaozf6Bz1W5Bn1Ets9ZwS1zVD9DPJ

Once the balance at that address reaches the sale price of 0.893 plus hosting at 0.075 per 14 days (due in advance) plus interest of 1% per week (due in advance), with a maximum term of one month the loan will be considered paid off and the miner will be shipped to tkeod priority mail at the seller/lender's expense.

Down payment of 0.3 is due at the start of the loan
Payments of 0.3 are due weekly

If loan not paid on one month, lender can keep the miner and any payments to date.

Initial balance of the loan is 0.67468

Im interested in a loan as I would like to purchase a new card or two for mining and to add to my 1 of 2 cards mining.  I don't have coins and spent most what I mined on a hard drive when my crashed recently along with a new 120mm cpu fan which was dying.  However I have a title to my street  bike  and my Chrysler 300m (2003) ?   Not sure how we could go about it?  Wouldn't mind the option to paypal back some of the funds so I can payback out of my paychecks (and after selling one of my existing cards) without having to find somewhere to convert usd to bc and send.

New loan to tkeod. I'm giving seller financing on the sale of two AntMiner S1s which are held by me as collateral until paid off.

The loan payoff address is (starting balance 0.97468)

https://blockchain.info/address/1MHEksaozf6Bz1W5Bn1Ets9ZwS1zVD9DPJ

Once the balance at that address reaches the starting balance of 0.97468 plus the sale price of 1.768 (0.893 x2) plus hosting at 0.075 per miner per 14 days (due in advance, but only 0.0375 per miner for the first week) plus interest of 1% per week (due in advance), the loan will be considered paid off and the miner will be shipped to tkeod priority mail at the seller/lender's expense.

One additional AntMiner S1 previously purchased by the borrower is being held by the lender as additional collateral. Hosting for this miner is 0.075 per 14 days (due in advance), with one week of hosting already paid for. This hosting fee will be added to the loan balance starting after the first week.

The minimum payment is 0.4 BTC per week.

If loan not paid in a maximum six weeks, lender can keep the miners and any payments to date.

Initial balance of the loan is 1.87961

In all likelihood, no. Aside from the tag we have:

3. Use of a seemingly realistic first/last name as their forum account name
...
8. Any user blatantly claiming to be female

and probably more.

It has to be collateral that is readily transferrable either to the lender or to a trusted escrow (and then of course back to the borrower after the loan is repaid). Altcoins (especially LTC) is considered the best collateral but I'm quite flexible on a case by case basis.

What's the point in that? If someone wants to "borrow" btc and only has ltc as collateral, he would just trade them on an exchange.

If you belive in LTC future and rise of the value you wouldn't want to spend them would you?
They would be taken away from you only if you will not repay otherwise they should be sent back to you.

Correct. Furthermore sometimes the assets are income-generating, for example GHS. In that case I hold the GHS but they continue to mine and upon payment of the loan I send back not only the GHS but also all the mined coins.

The active tkoed loan is now overdue. The borrower has been in diligent contact with me and I do not believe is trying to "scam" in any way, but has had some setbacks making it impossible to stay current on the loan. I have offered options for restructuring the loan and have provided a 7 day cure period. If the loan is not brought up to date or restructured within 7 days I will be keeping the collateral and payments to date, as agreed.

After 7 additional days the loan was not brought up to date and we did not work out a restructuring (I proposed a few alternatives including one that only required a payment of about 0.1 BTC). Thus the loan has clearly defaulted and I have repossessed the miners.

I don't think the guy was a scammer because he really got nothing good out of the deal and if he wanted to just back out he could have just disappeared but instead he sent me many PMs about the situation. I think he just had some bad luck in life and this didn't work out for him.

Onward.

Loan window is open.

Not sure what that means but rapeghost sent me a loan proposal in PM that was several paragraphs long. I have been too busy to carefully review it so I must decline.

As far as other loans, the loan window is open but I can only consider simple loan requests. Tell me in two lines how much you want to borrow and how the lender is going to be protected in terms of collateral. If it takes longer than to to explain it, you are better off approaching other lenders.

I'm going to decline as I don't personally like to use forum accounts as collateral. They do have a well understood value so you should be able to find someone else to lend based on that. Also these are on the low end of the size I like to work with (Heutenamos too but he's a repeat borrower and I've found him to be low hassle so its okay).

You're looking to buy accounts with a loan that has two accounts as collateral.
No brainer. Why not just sell the accounts you have now? You'd easily make almost double the amount you want to request in the loan.
ot; I would've asked for a loan for a business idea but I have no collateral on me so no point trying lol, might have to get collateral around 120% of the loan I want.

Because i would hold this account after repayement. It's simply. They have my logo and my signature too : i'm buyng not selling  :)

Said he would send the Bitcoin paperweight on 19 October 2015, but still hasn't done this. No communications since the 20th, even though he was online on the 24th and posted a few times on the 21th.

I highly recommend to not deal with this user.
