Title: What time do you go to bed?
Post by: TheFirstArchitect on February 23, 2020, 08:51:34 AM
What time do you go to bed? What time do you usually get up? How much time do you have for sleeping?
I heard that some people (like Elon Musk) sleep for 4 hours in order to have more time to do things during the day. Is it dangerous to health?

Of course, it’s dangerous. The body and brain must at least sometimes rest. Constant lack of sleep will slow down your brain more and more, and as a result, these supposedly saved hours will not help you in any way, because your productivity will be much lower than the prescribed level.

I myself try to sleep at least 7 hours a day.

Probably dangerous to the health of most people? And only few people are immune to the danger? I have seen the sleep research in the past, I think I believed it and it worked for me(I guess). But thesedays I don't even take the sleeping thing into account like before but I feel fine. Maybe because I rest or take a nap once in a while during the day

In fact  it's very harmful to health because if we don't get enough sleep the body is broken and doesn't want to try to any work  Unlike Elon Musk  I usually sleep for 8 hours which I feel is extremely good for my health Sleep 2 hours each day and 6 hours in the dark. I really like to awaken very early within the morning and compute within the morning is refreshing.

It is very deadly not having adequate sleep. I used to have less than 7 hrs sleep a day and i know how iy affected my health and landed me  to the hospital,  since then i learnt my lesson  and started giving my self adequate sleep

I would say that sleep whenever you body feels to sleep and wake up whenever you want to. There's never a fixed schedule. School fucks us up and mentally makes us believe that sleeping this much hours or less is bad or sleeping this much hours or more is good. Sleep whenever you feel like and that's the way to do. That's only natural.

I understand that there are many people who sleep little, but I sleep 10 hours every day and feel great! Although I noticed that if you go to bed at 10-11 pm, you can sleep 7-8 hours and you also get enough sleep

A man needs 6 hours of sleep to maintain normal fitness It has a good body and works well  However I sleep more than 6 hours and sleep is again harmful to health Many become obese. We have to work out a routine so how much you sleep each day will be a rule.

I personally sometimes never sleep because every night I spend time watching movies or playing games and in the daytime I spend time for working. actually it's dangerous if never sleep, I sleep every at 12 o'clock night and sometimes I never sleep. the effect is that the body often shivers and becomes thinner if rarely sleep.

In couple of months I have developed a habit for myself I go to bed before 11pm on night so that I can wake up before 6 am in morning, this really helped me lot with managing my schedule between work and lifestyle.

I usually sleep at 10PM and waking up at exactly 3AM (everyday routine) Basically, I got 5 hrs of sleep. Others would say that it is not enough and an average person should sleep for 8 hrs however, as a working person waking up beyond 3AM will lead me to being late. Sad.

You are right that an average person should sleep for 8 hours but should sleep at least 6 hours if not more than 8 hours, but again the problem is less but the problem is very harmful to our health. But sleeping 10 hours according to your routine does a lot of harm to you.

Before I go to bed I make sure first that my kids are already sleeping, I still have a baby and a toddler so its hard for me to have a specific time on when to sleep.

As much as possible I sleep for 8 hours because our body needs it and thats the advice of my doctor. I wake up at dawn to prepare for my eldest food for school so its a multi tasking for me as a mom.

It's been a nice topic to discuss and as per this thread if anyone sleeps only for 4 hours continuously for several days will definitely face serious health issues at first we can't function properly or do our best we feel disturbed this will impact our efficiency first. Of course other issues like increased stress etc

At least 6 hours of sleep is must if not 8 which would be a perfect maintaining proper time for it is tough in these modern days but it would be good if it is from 10 to 6 as most of them suggest. I would sleep from 11.30 to 5 or 6 depends

Most of the time I go to bed at two o'clock at night & ten o'clock in the morning, I get up. During this time, I woke up at five in the morning to pray. So I get about seven hours of sleep time. I think, if a person want to maintain good health, he must sleep at least six hours a day.

I've heard too that sleeping less than 7 hours is unhealthy but this applies to those that are on the line of aging.

Most of the entrepreneurs and businessmen sleep less than normal because they are the busiest person in their company. As much as possible, I'm trying to keep myself early as well to prepare things that I have to do within the day.

Rather spend 7-8 hours in sleeping. Proper time of sleeping helps us to think positively. I imagine those people who sleeps for just 4 hours. It's life draining.

Sometimes it's become habit my friend, my parents only take 4-5 hours of sleep in night and they look more fresh and energetic than me.  I take 7-8 hours of sleep and they always scold me for that saying we are wasting your 3-4 hours daily.

That will depend on personal. I have seen some of my family members just slept in less than 7 hours, and they have very busy every day. They still healthy, and they don't have any complaints with their body. I think if we are can manage our sleep to get quality and not quantity, we can feel fit and healthy, and we can also take care of our bodies. But many people will time that sleeping more than 8 hours will be better than sleep less than 7 hours because they don't think about the quality of sleep time.

The maximum hours I spend on sleeping is 6hours, I sleep most times at 1 am and wake up 7 am, its too bad I know but this is the actual time I can use my energy to do stuffs that I am doing presently, hopefully in the nearest future I can start sleeping for 10 hours minimum, its good for a healthy living anyways.

like those who are working at night shift they need more sleeping time than those who works in the morning.

well thats good for you because sometimes when we are sleepy and stands going to bed our body and mind going back to normal and sleep leaves us.

I used to go late to bed but I recently started a new job that I have to start working on 5am.
Having said that, I usually go to bed around 10 pm. this is around 6-7 hours sleep for me - personally I think that 4 hours is so less, even 7 hours is not enough but it depends on the person.

Nobody can sleep for 4 hours per night, according to various sources like Sleepingmola (https://sleepingmola.com/) that's not enough for your brain to rest.
Better find a new job because such conditions could harm you. Personally, I think that's individual I mean sleeping for 7-10 hours. You should ask your parents how much do they sleep and try, well, in the same hours.

I take about 20mg of sublingual Melatonin. This helps me sleep for 6 hours straight. If I wake up before 6 hrs, I take another 10mg, and I can usually get 4 more hours.

7 hours is so little for my body.
If I am tired and I sleep only for 7 hours then it will be very hard to operate during the next day. My body usually requires 8-10 hours of sleep in order to be fully functional.

Shifts cannot let you enjoy a stable sleep schedule.
If you are able to change swifts by week and not by day then this stabilizes for a while your sleeping activity. Otherwise, you are losing energy and being somehow unproductive if you don't sleep well.

There is no fix hours to sleep. Everyday I go to sleep at 12 mid-night. But I wish I could work whole hours at night. My body has a limitation. Everyone accept that. Internet has no day or night. Most of the jobs and micro tasks are found mainly during the window of 6 pm to 12 am as I experienced. This is because mostly Asian and African people are engaged in micro earning sites. Western people in USA and Europe are likely active at GMT +6 to GMT +00 but less traffic on their time.

4 hours is way way down the recommended hours by a doctor which must be at the 7-8hr range daily. Im a busy guy and during weekends I find time to really rest because during weekdays, it's always chaos. ;D

I'm always lack of sleep maybe because its my daily routine. 4 to 5 hrs of sleep is enough for me.

from what I hear, Elon musk doesn't sleep only 4 hours in 24 hours but he sleeps erratically, and every 4 hours he wakes up from sleep, this usually happens to geniuses whose brains are very active.

I heard that some people (like Elon Musk) sleep for 4 hours in order to have more time to do things during the day. Is it dangerous to health?

I try to sleep at least 7.5 hours since research has proved a number of times that most people actually need 5 sleeping cycles 90 minutes each!

That said, I think the most important parts is actually going to bed and waking up at the same time, it surely changed my sleep quality for the better ;)

Of course it's dangerous, the body needs to rest to function properly
I read somewhere that, the body needs approximately 8 hours of sleep

No specific time before I take rest for the day. Depends upon how quickly my work is done, if feeling bored will watch something or read something and if that gets interesting then will sleep later. So, at times I sleep early if tired or just nothing to do at times and at times its very early morning end up sleeping.

Sleeping for 4 hours is definitely dangerous. Whenever i sleep that little i feel like whole day is wasted, I can't focus and be productive as much as when I'm rested well. For me the norm should be at least 7 hours of sleep.

I guess that depends on how much rest/sleep your body needs. If my body feels well rested and energetic at night, I usually do not bother myself with too much sleep. Besides, that is good time for me to do certain works without too much distractions

I mostly sleep with that long and sometimes even lesser. But us being adults, we're having that experience because of responsibilities and things that we have to do.

I also feel like that, tired and easily angered when lack of sleep. That's why if you can take as much sleep as you can with the right time, do yourself a favor by doing it.

I usually go to bed at eight o'clock in the evening. Because my daughter needs to go to bed early, I usually sleep with her when I coax her to sleep.
how sweet , I missed the time when My daughter wanted the same thing when she was a little girl.

But now that she's grown up , we only have some small talks before sleeping.

I don't have a fixed time to sleep. Because I am a freelancer, I work differently every day, so I sleep differently every day, but the sleep time is still guaranteed.
Of course we need to sleep lol , even what time it is.

I often go to bed at ten o'clock in the evening. I get off work at six o’clock every day, and then go home to have dinner and clean up the room until it’s eight. Then I need to accompany my dog for a walk, and wash up and go to bed after returning.

The perfect sort of timing I would say as early to bed and early to rise just the great thing to do if one can mange to do it. Also, I hope you do get time for some exercise as in evening its nice you go out for a stroll with your dog so this helps you. Ensure some or other activity you do daily just rather than making your life monotonous.

But I try to sleep atleast 6 or 7 hours a day so that my brain and muscles can rest too.
Usually, it has to be 7-8 even for adults but maybe because of many things that we think or overthink, it affects our health and sleeping time.

You need to decide if health is more important to you or wealth. If you do not sleep well, it can impact your health. What's the benefit of the money if your health is not good ?

Also I don't think that Elon musk sleeps only 4 hours a day. He has a lot of people who are doing the work for him.

The best thing is that early to bed and early to rise should be the timetable. Like half an hour here and thee is fine but something like sleeping at early morning and then waking by next day afternoon is something which should be avoided unless your work is schedule during those hours or only in case of emergency. Morning vibes and freshness is something different which i have found once started getting up early in the day rather than late.

I once consulted with a doctor that the ideal sleep time is indeed 7-9 hours per day. Because there are so many benefits that we can feel
if we can get quality sleep. Such as reducing stress, supporting growth for children and maintaining an ideal body weight. But because of
today's demands of work, many people have bedtime very little. I even only have 2-4 hours of sleep a day, I admit I have to change my lifestyle.

4 hours is way to short for me. Sleeping around 7 hours is optimal, if I sleep too short or too long I am going to feel it all day and won't be as productive. Recently I started to go bed 1 hour earlier and wake up earlier too so I can do important things in the morning.

I usually go to bed around twelve o'clock, because my sleeping habits have been developed. If I go to bed early unless I am very tired, I may not fall asleep.
Thats our Body clock mate , the time we got sleep and the time we woke up.

Like me , I mostly sleeps at 11pm and wake up at 5am .

I’ve been going to bed a lot later lately, I dunno why but I get playing games & browsing online & before I know it, it’s 1am. I really need to start putting devices down & sleeping earlier.

Well, it depends. Sometimes I tend to stay up very late until 2 am. But mostly, I go to bed on or before 12 midnight.

About an hour after I get my daughter to sleep. Which varies wildly. I like to do stuff like play video games or watch tv that isn’t animated for a little bit before crashing. As a result I’m always tired and operate at about 40% at all times lol.

12am hard to stay asleep though. I wake up like 3 times everynight. Not sure why though.

I'm always in bed, but when I sleep is very different. Sometimes it'll be 7 pm, others 8 or 9 pm... Other times I'll sleep at 1-4 am or I don't sleep.

Enough time for sleeping , at least 6 hours before 6am is best and exact sleeping time for working people like us.

Maybe you have internal sickness or maybe you are lacking of exercise, or you are eating heavy even before going to bed.

Unfortunately, I can't say that my sleep cycle is stable. Yesterday, for example, I went to bed at 2 a.m. and woke up at 7 a.m. On weekends I go to bed at 3 a.m. and get up at 12 a.m.  I hope that soon I will be a little richer and be able to afford a better quality sleep

What time do you go to bed? What time do you usually get up? How much time do you have for sleeping?
I heard that some people (like Elon Musk) sleep for 4 hours in order to have more time to do things during the day. Is it dangerous to health?

Yes, this is very dangerous for your health. The body and brain must at least get about 7 hours of sleep on a regular basis, if not this can eventually lead to health consequences that affect your entire body. Constant lack of sleep will slow down your brain,  these supposedly saved hours so they can work longer in the day will not help you in any way, because your productivity will be much lower than the usual way of working.

I try to sleep at least 7 hours a day or else I'll get sleep deprivation and reduce my quality of sleep.
