First of all most government are printing so much money that everything else is being pushed up. And have you been eating paper and cuppronickel recently enough to remember food is tastier and the most important...

Somewhere, could reduce to a society with sharecropping if too much money is printed and everything begins to fail but that's extremely unlikely and would still mean the mode educated perform the best. Who's fixing your tractor engine, you?

Until the last drop of water or the last bit of food is not available shall you realize that you can not eat or survive on your dollar bills.

Why do you think the world is currently on it knees right now? Is it because of the need for Money or Health well-being?

Your health is what matters right now I guess because of pandemic and of course your money can’t help you on that so don’t think too much about the money and stay healthy for now. If you have a lot of investments then the money will work for you. Money is not the king but its one of the basic necessities to stay alive nowadays, but never treat this as above anything else.

I get the point that cash is king in this pandemic. But that doesn't make values and ethics to go down. This pandemic has taught a lot of things for those who are not valuing things that they have. It's a refresher and this will teach a lesson to everyone that we have to be wise with our spending habits.

I disagree with this. It is needed but it's not that all that matters. In rural areas, they have not that much money but they are able to live freely with everything that they have because they have the resources.

With current situation Health tis the foremost important things which needs to be taken care of. Secondly, skills, experience etc is going to be vital again, because those with multi skills if not successful today in one thing can start doing other etc. As seen people moving the lines from 1 to another because of the slowness in business and, they had skills and ready to learn new and face the challenges. So, this people will be successful in the long term and obviously in this process they will make money as well.

Agreed, money is important there is no doubt of this, but when the money itself is being printed all over the world at such an outstanding rate then it is fair to wonder how long can this last? If an economic crisis based on the the lack of trust on our fiat currencies comes to happen, hard currencies like gold and bitcoin will skyrocket while paper currencies like the dollar will crash in value, however at that time what it will save you is not the money you hold but your skills.

So I think it is very naive to think that a person that holds a huge amount of money has already everything that he needs when in that case the person will have to exchange his currency for the goods and services he needs and he will have to do so precisely at the time in which his money buys less.

 
I think from the guys perspective, he is counting on what money can buy to survive, as in what many people are hustling for now is to have money to meet bills, eat well, enjoy life and survive. Probably he's not thinking we need to be in good health first before we can look for money.if we take a good look at it, some are careless about the health status at this time. Since they have no one closely infected. It is important we choose good health first.

I don't know where the OP is coming from but his statements are pointless. Maybe he is experiencing trouble in his life right now where money is the answer. Bailing out is inevitable, businesses and all have to survive this pandemic if possible. There is no problem in printing money as long as these bills are still going to be supported by the government. Stimulus packages for all!

Cash has stable value because governments are behind them to manipulate exchange rates. Like in the past, in the future they will continue to print money to stimulate the economy. There will be more money and maybe the money in our pockets will decrease in value. Think of something finite and harder to create than printing government money.

I wouldn't say that Cash is King, although as this point we need it to buy food and everything that we need to survived. But in order to have cash, then definitely you have to work so you still need to have that work ethics otherwise you will be another statistics of people who don't have a job or at least not earning because you don't know how to improvise in this current situations.

It's never about values when it comes to macro level. in the global picture it's always about having money to make more money. If you see in this current scenario it's the poor who are suffering not the rich people. Billionaires are reaching new heights of their career you may even attribute this to education as they made some sort of opportunity out of COVID but money has always been the thing that matters.

Right now, we need to get a way for us to earn and that also means adjusting in this pandemic, if you have a skill in some things you could do something in your home to be able to get some additional profit. Granted that we do have different perception in life though money is important these days during this global pandemic. Money can fulfill your needs but it can’t buy you happiness, just look those people who lives in a rural area they don't have food to eat in their table but they are fulfilled in life. Skills are very important and education also during these times.

The US wants to continue printing toilet paper money to get them out of the hole they dug with the mistakes they made with the Covid pandemic. Obviously, Money is very important to humanity in anywhere.In this pandemic many investors that have the money are investing here, and there to make more profit, while some find it difficult to feed well in this pandemic.

So how did you intend to earn the Money if what matters is money? This is a wrong philosophy about life. You need skills and education to broaden your knowledge and put you in a good chance to earn money. Many people will tell you that those that are most successful today drop out of school. Not that they did not acquire basic education but "dropped out" Money will not just come out from thin air. It will be earned.

education is the basis for people to progress in all aspects, especially of course the progress of knowledge which is more basic from all aspects that have been learned. but people who trade can be opened from education because it is parents who give off talents and opportunities to learn to continue their trading traditions. but in theory he did not study in special education but what he studied was direct science practice.

but for certain knowledge it still has to be from the school desk that teaches correctly a clear theory and cannot be done from experience, only trade can do that. So, education is still needed and it cannot be denied that without reliable education, to compete in technological developments you can be left behind.

Skills and good work ethics are as useful as they ever were. Though if its school education you are talking about, then one has to be very careful about what "skill" they choose. The only thing to keep in mind is that it matches your ambition and aptitude. A lot of fear has been raised about AI eating up jobs. Yet, to think of it, robots aren't really going to replace human riggers, welders working on skyscrapers anytime soon. Infrastructure doesn't employ as many people as it used to but it'll survive. Engineers, particularly Mechanical, Civil, Electrical will continue to be in demand.

The most that automation and AI will effect is the jobs on lower end of the spectrum. Support services, call centers are going to get very light in terms of human intervention. Apart from that, we are always going to need good code and new product implementations. It isn't going away anytime soon.

So yeah, Money is king only because skills and work ethics will continue to be used to earn more of it. Nothing is changing in those terms except that we may just self-destruct ourselves with climate change and novel diseases as we continue to disturb earth's balance.

Although not all things can be bought by money, it must be admitted that having a lot of money can freely buy anything.

Are you okay man? Money or this concept isn't new like Blockchain. It's not the money that shaped the world rather the people in the power. You see, we can get screwed easily by our leaders.

In the time of pandemic, cash was even more important than having money in your bank accounts as in a lot of places people were afraid to go out as there were high chances that the ATM were also carrying the virus and were contaminated, so having cash in hand was considered a good thing considering a lot of local sellers were only accepting cash and not the bank transfers or cards. Money is always king, if you are speaking of the abstraction of it. Generally speaking, money never left its importance in our society and in fact, it's now needed more than ever. This statement somehow really have a point. Nowadays, most of the things in the world which are necessary to live and the things that you want can only be acquired when you have money. That's the reality that we need to accept, and YES, there are things that can't be bought by money but we need to understand that we can't live without money. We can't sustain ourselves if we don't have any source of profit or income that will help us to buy our needs. That's the hardest truth that we need to deal with but right now, jobless people are increasing due to the fact that this pandemic can affect businesses and the economy and it is really hard to earn money with this crisis.

Maybe, he said that based on his own experience but in reality, degrees are necessary to find a job if you're not working extra. There are a lot of opportunities where you can work without a degree and I think that's the thing that he is talking about. In cryptocurrency, you don't need a degree to make it grow because some of the crypto investors are successful without even completing college which is what is really happening right now. Some people are just lucky because they are born wealthy and some are suffering because they are born into poverty.

We will see more pressure on fiat currencies in the near future. Governments all around the world are injecting money into their economies. Central banks are very worried about lower than 2% inflation rates and want to increase inflation above their targets short term.
So while cash is long we need to remember that the longer we hold cash we are losing purchasing power. Cash is not giving any returns and should be considered more short term than long term

Money is king! I disagree with that "again", money is king all the time! There is an old proverb here, goes like this "if you can't solve some problem with money, you can solve it with a lot of money"! Before money, it was gold or silver, each era has something valuable that represents money, the king. Now in 2020 need for the money is even bigger, because more cities, more people who live there, they can survive only with money. Before every family had someone who lives in the village, there was food on the table, but villages are gone, we all eat what we buy... we pay for everything, we need electricity, we need telephones (more than one of course), we need internet, car and gasoline... And for all that you need money!

Frankly speaking not all  ;D There are indigenous people out there having their own source of every thing that they need like shelter made from woods and leaves, food from crops, water from natural resources, and many more. They also don't need to pay for education since the government is providing them one. Wanna replace it to, MOST OF HUMANITY NEEDS MONEY.

That's the opportunity of being rich, they get richer and the poor gets poorer. That's the sad reality about living, when you are born poor you need to thrive in order to get what you want, unlike being born rich the food is already in your table.

It's never pointless as you can use that to make money, getting into school to learn does not mean you'll become an employee after you finish schooling, you can also learn and apply what you learn if you are going to start a business, and the more knowledgeable you are, the better chance you will succeed in your business venture.

I think OP is so fed up with the idea of money is everything but didn't realize it yet when the time comes he doesn't have any water or food. What could be the value of his money if that time comes? Try living in a war zone, let me see if you can buy something or sell something there.

We're now living in the era that most have a technology, therefore, money isn't a king at all. We have many digital valuable assets that might replace the money. I don't think OP has come up with this pointless idea. There are too many ways to find that can alternate to money, not just only money that people need.

Many things can't buy money, even your happiness can't buy with money. You become obsessed with making money you didn't realize that you don't have enough time for your family and your children if you have. Not all things above on earth that you can buy money. :D

Money is not the only thing that matters in humans life specially in today's situation. There are many rich people who don't get their money's worth when they get sick and get infected by the virus, their money became useless. There are also many people who are poor that can survive the trials that come in their lives because they are accustomed that their only wealth is not money but the wealth of nature.

Education is very important, and without it you wouldn’t have been on this forum posting this, because you wouldn’t know how to read and write, so don’t say that it’s good for education and schools to fall, it’s totally wrong ,we need education. And you’re also forgetting that education also contributes to the money a country makes, it’s part of what helps the economy, and if the economy is down, then the currency or money will be down as well.

But in reality, during the economic contraction towards slow down or tight money, the most powerful thing is cash. Those who are trapped in debt with interest will die slowly because of interest. There will be many opportunities because many will sell non-productive assets in order to hold cash. And the savior from all these situations is cash. So there are many entrepreneurs who hibernate and hold cash, for example doing the chosen trade is a short-term business, the benefits are easy to take and the exit is also easy (low hanging fruit). As did Warren Buffet, who released Berkshire Hathway's shares from several investments to hold cash. Though Buffet is famous for its long-term investment habits.

So the safest thing right now is to hold cash in large amounts in dollars, then still have multistreaming income so that the resistance to face a recession is longer than those without savings and without a surplus of income.

Agreed, this world belongs to those that can see farther ahead than anyone else and in order to obtain that ability you need knowledge, and this knowledge can be obtained in several ways, you can go to school and obtain that knowledge, you can learn from experience, you can learn from a mentor in your life or you can learn from books and other materials like it, but regardless of the process itself at the end what matters is your knowledge and how you apply it.

Those that choose to ignore this whether because they are lazy or they are ignorant about this truth are bound to have very difficult lives because they are unable to adapt to the changing situations of the world and what it is even more sad is that they do not even realize why they do not seem to get ahead in life despite all the efforts they make.

Money is king for now because there is a crash in the investment sector all over the world but you are not supposed to hold it as money for longer term because the lost value will get recover if you invest the cash the value will grow but if you keep it as fiat itself the value will depreciate due to inflation and in some countries the inflation is about to hit double digit due to the economic crashes due to covid 19.

Unfortunately, not everything can be bought for money. For example, health cannot be bought for sure. How many rich people were unable to recover from fatal diseases, while having unrealistic amounts in their accounts. As for education, I also disagree with you. Even those who didn't study well in school, but still became rich, then return for knowledge in order to keep and properly manage their wealth.

That debate could take up a whole thread of its own, but that's one point on which I think you're wrong.  Education is never pointless or worthless, even though the cost of attending university has shot up in the past couple of decades.  I would concede that some college majors are pointless, but only from the perspective of using that major to get a job after graduation.  If I were just starting to attend university right now, there's no way in hell I'd pick a major like sociology, psychology, gender studies, or even math/physics unless I was intending on going on to graduate school.

What crash are you referring to?  I was looking at the S&P 500 graph earlier, and it's now higher than it was pre-COVID-19.  The stock market is soaring, as are precious metals, and bitcoin is above $10k.  The flash crash we had because of the viral outbreak is a thing of the past at this point.

In case of a crash there other asset classes which still outperform cash, so Cash might be the Prince, not the King in my opinion. If you look at precious commodities like Gold you will see that they increased a lot in value during past crisis. Where as cash usually just loses value due to inflation. For cash to be good in a crisis you would want to invest into other asset classes at the lowest point. But there you have the timing issue. No one knows for sure when the pandemic will be over.

Money is not everything, and during this pandemic what is needed is strong health and diligent exercise to prevent the virus and besides that to keep your distance and wash your hands and so on and follow the health protocols implemented by the government.
There is no point in having a lot of money if you are infected, you better invest your money so you can stay focused on your health during this pandemic.

Agree, health is wealth so that should be our priority, however, with money, we can do almost everything we want, we can provide good food for our body to maintain our health and we can afford medical expenses to maintain our health as well. For some people money is everything and even I see in my society how everything for them around is money. But its people choice and how they want to live it. For some people its time spend with loved ones, memories created etc is much important than any other things. A time will come again when things will change.

I agree with you. Money is king in some ways. We have seen in recent times that when the investment sector has crashed, cash has helped to get out of that situation. Later the market started to recover again and it started to be more convenient to invest than money. But at the time when everything crashed, those who did not have money realized the importance of money. So in many cases money is very important.


Education is always important. Your point is baseless. Now the situation will not always be like this, many things have already started to become normal. So the importance of skill and education will soon go back to its previous place.

This is not true, indeed in some ways related to the economy going down and schools getting useless, but you can't just beat everyone up and say money is king. I am not talking about holding the cash, because I knew that value of money will be lost due to inflation.But when the price of asset you invested as soaring and you think it is about to hit the correction period then it is better to cash it out than any other form of the asset so you can invest back the capital as well as the profit once there was a dump.

Skills are required before you can get a job and then make money. I don’t really see a job that doesn’t require having skills.

If you’re going to be an a chemical engineer, you will have to go to school and learn and graduate and then get a job, if it’s not that way, then you wouldn’t have any understanding on what that area of engineering is all about and you won’t get a job there. So, don’t say that education is pointless, because there are so many ways that education is helping us.

Agreed, people are much into the fantasy world. Very few get lucky and very few will be of fortune. Rest stands on education and hard work. In recent years this trend too have changed. Education helps in creating ourselves, but the education being used through smart work makes us known to the world. This way education is the king and money stands further.

Don't make money as the king of your life because it will not help you to have a long life or even give you one minute of additional breath if you will become a worst victim of this covid virus. Heath is better to prioritize now and invest so that it will give you money to support your daily needs. And always remember and put it in your mind that you can't bring money to the pit when you die.  Yes we need money to live but don't make it as a center of your life. What you are describing is very similar to the studies that have found that those that win the lottery may be happy about it at the beginning but this wears off really quickly and they go back to their previous emotional state and since they do no know what it takes to earn that money since the just got lucky they decide to begin to spend their money in a reckless way and find themselves facing bankruptcy in just a few years.

And what it is even worse despite all that money, which seems to be the only thing the OP cares about it, they did not solve any of their problems and many end up wishing they never won the lottery on the first place.

Skills, work ethics and values are important and those are real essential deals that are needed by a certain individual in this world. Yes, it is indeed that money is a must have but money is not all that it takes for there are essential things in this world that cannot be bought by money. Also, how can you say so that school education is becoming so pointless when education is a must thing to have because if you are educated, you can do anything and build up essential skills to survive this world. If you would just be concern on just having money without any skills and knowledge then all of those money would become worthless for you would just get easily be fooled and it would be senseless if you do have money but cannot manage to make use of it properly because you do not have certain skill and knowledge to do so.

I agree with you! Health is wealth. Money is useless if everyone in your home is at hospital. Definitely even you have lots of bills, it will disappear because of the hospital bills. Besides, you can`t bring it when you died in this world. Health right now is a gem. If you don`t have sickness, you can work and you can gain money. We should not make the money as our God because someday it might disappear. But the health, family, values and happiness should be emphasized because we only live once in earth.

Just as it is not possible to do anything without money money does not mean the perfect solution to everything. How do we make money if our body is not healthy? For this you have to think about your own well-being first. Money is king but money will be useless to illness. Alright, We never live without money in today's situation but it doesn't mean that we have to praise the money at all. The pandemic proved it how important to have money saved in our pocket all the time. But it was sad to see how people being greedy because of this thing and in order to survive.

However going back to the idea, you can work as hard as you can from age 5 to be a great worker one day, pick a field you like at age 5 and until you are 30 work on that, be the best there is and you could still not make as much money as Jeff Bezos or some wall street dudes, and you would be working 10x more. Money attracts money, look at dividends for example, you do not work at all, your money births money, while you work your ass off some person gets paid same amount in dividends by doing nothing.

That also means, certain countries are starting to print their own money. That also means you will see more inflation which is really bad to be fair. It's correct that money takes its place in this world to buy everything and you can't even live in this world without money, but that perception sounds really wrong for me.

Well, I did not accept that schools and educations will become pointless, how can you count money if you are not educated to count money.
There are a few things that we can not buy money, not all things that matter on the money. When people or government realized that barter system is not fair then they created money. Basically, money is just for basic need and money have a purpose why our government printing this for the equal exchange, --not just the barter system.

It must be admitted that I agree in a situation like now, money is king. We really need money to survive, especially now that
it is very difficult to work in the real world, because of the quarantine in several countries. Luckily I know cryptocurrency,
so it can be an alternative to making money from cryptocurrency. But sometimes money can also be the cause of people

money to pay for all the comfort. Money pays bills, with money you eat, and for everything you plan to do you will need money.

I agree with you that money is important for everyone of us, but the only problem I see is that money is not generating any income on it's own. You need to invest it, gamble or bet with or just loan it someone. Money on its own in a bank account or as cash at home will lose it's purchasing power over time due to inflation. As good investors as most of the people on this forum are, we all put our FIAT money into crypto currencies so we are not as hard hit by inflation as in our own country. Also the chances to make a return with cryptos is much higher than just holding cash.

Currently money has a big role to us, especially that there's a pandemic at this time. We cant feed ourselves if we dont have money, we cant go to hospital if we dont have money to pay the bills. It is really essential even before, but it doesnt mean thats the most important thing now. The lives and safety of people are much more valuable, we can work to earn money but we have only one life to treasure.

We can see the importance of money on times like this, the economy of every nation has stopped, and we are all unprepared for this this is the time that we wished we have save enough, because the lock down has limited our movement and our resources, education is important and part of being educated is saving for a rainy season like this.

do something with that money. The problem with small amounts is that you need to risk a lot to make something, and in most cases that
