today ethereum is down more than 15%. I wonder why this happened. is it possible because of the high cost of GAS? or for some other reason. I didn't find any news that caused the situation to turn out badly like this. this happened suddenly, is it safe, Will ethereum go back to $400?

The reason of dumping is the unstable BTC market. ETH should easily move back to $400 even in the next few days. Two days max in my observation. It already has a good support at $290, so I do not see anything to panic with ETH if you are holding it.

I don't think Bitcoin have really that huge impact on ETH.  Bitcoin had been going down for some days but ETH surge despite of that.  I think this is more on DeFi hype settling down and that outrageous gas fee.  It is also possible that buyer of ETH months ago is shorting, taking profit and moving it to other blockchain projects. 

so this is all because of bitcoin, in recent days I did see bitcoin prices go down. but I don't think it will affect ethereum even all the altcoins. So that means it's not purely because there is a problem with ethereum. then I'm not too worried.

It's not just ethereum that fall in price but almost all coins are in red since BTC price is dropping, it is natural since the market experience increases in many altcoins like in ETH and DeFi projects that makes this correction so do not be worry. ETH is a top altcoins than grew in price again anytime especially if they will released the Ethereum 2.0 we're not just sure when will it happen but what's happening in the market is just a cycle and can go up again as long as we are invested in good projects.

coins in the market specially with Bitcoin. Havent you seen the price of btc that do goes down in percentage too? There are already some people do talk that it is dying but this isnt something

Ethereum doesn't really have a reason why it should go down, bitcoin doesn't neither but at least the big thing about bitcoin (halving) already happened so I would understand that people may think bitcoin will drop, not like it will, I believe it will not, but the logic is there which is why I do agree that it actually makes a bit of sense.

However ethereums big thing is still there. After the whole phase 1 thing and ethereum becomes ethereum 2.0 with the proof of stake, do you really think it will go down? Bitcoin is down so expect  some of the altcoins will go down too, im thinking that after the market will become stable, high cost of gas will be the next reason for the ethereum to go down deeper.

I believe that the major Ethereum holders are not interested in the prolonged fall in prices and therefore the purchase will resume to resume strengthening support. This dump is so drastic, though it could be due to the increased gas, but I think it is also to favour the whale's. The whale takes this advantage to double up investment for maximum profit, we all know the dump cannot take long. No matter how low we have it now, one thing is sure we are facing the bull and no more the bear. We still expect something better before the end  of the year, and since we cannot influence the rise for now we've got to exercise patience.

i find it funny when you say eth value go down because of the gas fee problem . that issue is only a fee and its verry minor so i dont think that this is the main reason why eth price got dumped  . look around you other coins fell down as well .  dont tell me that they got dumped because of the transaction fee ? obviously no .  whales and large holders do thier move secretly and why will they let the media know when they are moving large funds .

I don't think the Ethereum price has fallen because of the high cost of GAS, but influenced by the price of Bitcoin which experienced
a deep correction. But if you look at the development of Ethereum price in the market, now the price of Ethereum is starting to rise.
So I believe that with Ethereum price now at $ 384 it won't be long before Ethereum price will be back to $ 400 again.

People are using ETH and providing it as liquidity for these new projects and hence the price started gaining momentum and other than that no one will be using it as the transaction charges are high and everyone is hoping that the development team will roll out their updates so that all these bottleneck issues will be sorted.

I really hope the eth team is doing something to these high gas fees. Many small traders and eth holders are affected by these expensive fees. They badly need to fast track their developments and not fail their supporters.

Decreasing of ethereum's price has nothing to do with Gas price of the market. It is normal that ethereum fluctuates and also goes down it's price, not only going for a riaing price activity. But i think if ethereum would continue to fell down it's price, the Gas fee could go back to normal again.

Waiting for the price to rise a bit and cross 400$ . Its being a long now where not seen it in 400$ range and currently it is at 380$. If btc continues to rise, then sure we will see ETH also to keep moving upwards and hoping this year ends with above 500$ atleast for ETH.

Holding ethereum is somewhat brilliant thought generally. I've been with bitcoin and ethereum for some time. they're both a safe bet, but I prefer ethereum more due to it being chaeper that makes it more achievable. In Ethereum we can put our trust because ETH can gain 500$ and significantly more.

Unless the market goes down after this month, when all traders are in a euphoria mood I sell my portfolio and wait for the downtrend in order to buy more. ETH is not a profitable investment now, better to wait for the right timing and pricing because there are many other factors that affect the price of ETH development.
