Title: Ended [QUIZZ] The (unofficial) live quizz of the 11th anniversary of Bitcointalk
Post by: Halab on November 16, 2020, 10:52:59 PM
See you in approximately :

PS: No need to report/delete this topic. And my account is not compromised :)

Edit 1 : And shit... I forgot to relock the topic... :)

Edit 2 :
Thanks for the merits, but wait until the end to send some, because you merit a countdown :).
I want to make it clear that what I'm preparing is neither revolutionary nor official and that it's not as big as the 10th anniversary, there's nothing to win (no BTC, no badge, no title, etc... maybe a few merits).
I'm doing my little attention whore with this topic, but you will soon understand why.

Edit 3 :
Unlocking this topic.

Ok, maybe you will tell me : "all that for a quizz ?" I know there have been other quizz (more or less good) in the past, but it was easy to do them again and then pretend to be the best. This time, I'm proposing a small "live" quizz where you will play against other people (up to 50 people) at the same time. No question this time, the big winner of this quizz will be the person who knows Bitcointalk best.

So come and test your knowledge.

How does it work?
- There will 21 questions.
- 4 propositions per question.
- Only 1 correct answer.
- 20 seconds to answer the question.
- 1000 points are at play per question.
- The faster and better you answer, the more points you will score.
- If you make a mistake or answer after the 20 seconds, you will score 0 point.
There will be easy/difficult, serious/less serious questions. You don't have to be a living encyclopedia on Bitcointalk to play.

A little before the beginning of the quizz (~30 minutes), I'll give you the url you need to go to.
No registration is required, no KYC, etc...
Once the quizz begins, it should last no more than 10-15 minutes.

Edit 4 :
To take part in the quiz
Go to this url : www.kahoot.it
Enter the code: 5666538

Put your nickname (put the same as on Bitcointalk otherwise it's not make sense).

Code:

Nice try but there's a 't' in illegitimate (edit: in "Merit" as well, so no Merit guys ;D), so that's not possible, otherwise it would be there already (errrmmm I suppose :P ;D).

"The biochemicals were blown on the 11th anniversary of Bitcointalk" is still a completely acceptable (also very plausible) possibility, though!

Just so nobody's disappointed: I have absolutely nothing planned for the 11th anniversary. The stuff for the 10th was just because a decade of existence is so significant. I only first looked up what day should properly be the anniversary day a couple of years ago -- prior to the 10th, it was never really remarked upon.

[XXXXX] The...

Exclusionary?
Idiosyncrasy?
Provisionary?

...

From?
Too many options. Someone could definitely figure it out at this point given all the possibilities and matching to a context, but anyone willing to do that is probably busy posting in the altcoin section for peanuts :)

My answer from questions 1 to 21 is BTC (letter B)

0 for the moment, but if there are no participants (it can happen) I will manually check your answers (as well as those of Bttzed03) :).

OK, serious things begin :
Go to this url : www.kahoot.it
Enter the code: 5666538

Put your nickname (put the same as on Bitcointalk otherwise it's not make sense).

The quiz will start in about 30 minutes.
Press CTRL-F5 to refresh the countdown in OP, it bugs a little bit.

Good luck to all.

I entered the game PIN and then my username (same as my bitcointalk username). I didn't see any count down. I pressed CTRL+F5 and went back to the home page. It asked the game PIN again.
I entered that. It asked my username again. I entered my username but got error "Sorry, that nickname is taken."
Seems that there is no way to participate, unless I use a new username.
Am I allowed to use a different username? If yes, I will use a very similar username.

Come back with a anonother username (hosseinimr93_2 ?)
CTRL-F5 was for the countdown in OP :).

Edit : lot of spots available.

Guess it registered you once and since you did a hard refresh you might need to modify the nickname. Try "hosseinimr93V2"
All I see is the image posted above.
Have some patience  :P

The quiz will start in about 30 minutes.

Well I'm not going to hide it, it's a failure. Only 5 participants, only one answered all the questions. Should I have put BTC in play to attract more people ? I didn't think you were so greedy :). it was a bad good idea :).
I don't know if there were any technical problems on your side.

But anyway, congratulations to notblox1, you are the big winner of this quiz.

Edit :
I see in the report 10 people, but 2 times Rizzrack and Icopress and also 1moreTry, so there must have been technical problems or my explanations were not clear. Sorry about that.

Edit 2 :
I think there was a problem with Tor browsers for registration on kahoot.it
OK my bad, I hadn't thought of that at all.

I think there was a problem with Tor browsers for registration on kahoot.it
Maybe that explains lower number of participants.

Should I have put BTC in play to attract more people ? I didn't think you were so greedy :).
BTC would bring more people and wake up all the old and rusty altaccount from hibernation like last year ;)

Mine is still saying "Connecting to Kahoot!" on Tor. It changes the background color while waiting, but nothing happens so I gave up.

I think you're expecting too many participants in just the first 20 minutes. Give it a day :)

Ooo ... now you understand how i feel  ;D I also wanted to time Bitcointalk Community Awards  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5284749.msg55462634#msg55462634) on the 11th anniversary of the forum, but to date I only see 70 responses. Unfortunately, users are not very active when it comes to a non-profit event.

p.s Halab, I see you used the sendtric (https://www.sendtric.com/) timer (in the free version, you can customize the background color to get, for example, the background color of the thread #ECEDF2).

Almost same problem here. When I am trying to connect, just after writing my nickname in the field and clicking on "OK, go!" this is the message that pops up:

Quote
Oops!, You've disconnected. We're trying to reconnect you now.

I'll give it a day as you suggest LoyceV ;)

I didn't really see any question and just had to select one of these four shapes by chance.
I could answer 1 question correctly and won the third place.  ;D

I read this topic few hours after ih's been posted it but didn't check it again for updates.
It was a good idea and the only mistake was that you didn't inform us in advance.
I'm curious to know what the questions were and if it's ok I hope you post them here.

As far as I'm concerned it can actually be a weekly thing with monthly leaderboards  ;D

Please do @Halab we want to try it, yeah that might be a nice one too but for sake of the anniversary I still want to try it instead.

OK I understand better now. Apart from the problem with Tor, I know where the problem comes from : I'm the king of the idiots.

At work, my bosses use Kahoot to relay information in a playful way. We get the questions on a TV and we answer them on our phones. It works very well.

A few weeks ago, during a big family birthday party, I made a quizz where questions were posted on a big TV and guests answered on their phones. It worked very well and I got positive feedbacks.

(Can you see the problem coming ?)

With the 11th anniversary approaching, I thought, "Hey, do a live quiz with the other members, it will be fun". I thought a lot about the questions, the answers. And I tested where the questions were on my PC screen and where I was playing on my phone. And everything was running smoothly.

Except that it could NOT work ! Because you couldn't see the questions... I'm ashamed, you have no idea.... Sorry for wasting your time. I'm so dumb.

https://risibank.fr/cache/stickers/d1920/192083-full.gif

To apologize, I launched the quizz in offline mode, everyone can play whenever they want (with the same rules). Well, it loses a little bit of its interest because the quizz can be easily done again and therefore the ranking will have no value.
It is limited to one week or 50 participants.
I added a 22nd question, a very very easy one. Edit : And I screwed up again, you have to tick all 4 answers. [/edit]

It's here : https://kahoot.it/challenge/08080508 (I didn't try it with TOR).

In relation to the questionnaire it is difficult to say but of 22k points you have 12759, which for now among five bad ones takes you to the first place :D

-/The last question may be the most difficult and confusing, but with the best chance of achieving the perfect score of 1000, but with the certainty that no one wants to achieve it. /-    ;)

Thanks for the experience - interaction.

Good enough to beat me to second position. I scored just 10289 points (on my first trial). Would be interesting to see what position I drop to when the quiz eventually ends.

Haha, it was a nice one. Questions are much better than any other Bitcointalk quiz.

Regarding 21st question, if I remember correctly Theymos referred himself as thermos in that post, isn't it? It was confusing between the two options.

lulz had fun. F'd up the one I really shouldn't have ever F'd up, and several others in my attempt to blast off answers rapidly. Almost cost me a few more questions as I went along.

Totally Agree with 21 being slightly misleading. I won't post names/answers so others can find it themselves.

Thanks again for the small entertaining timewaster.

Haha! Just a question. Am I the only one who saw my username on the quiz or the choices depends on someone who is answering the question? I'm quite surprised though even if it turns to be a random algorithm on a preset of answers for that particular question  ;D

This game gives me a lot of excitement every question is just new to my eyes and also the game is so fun. Smooth animation with timers, good background music effect. Also, the question is so tricky but the last part gives me too much laugh and unexpected points lol.

Well, I admit I'm still a newbie because some of the question I really don't know which is the correct answer.

you don't need the code anymore. Halab posted another link since the first one had some issues regarding the questions not being shown. also, you can see the ranking after finishing the whole quiz.

It's here : https://kahoot.it/challenge/08080508 (I didn't try it with TOR).

Nice one Halab :)
I started doing well then boom boom with wrong answers although I know some of them, just stressing about the time and score ;D, in the other hand I answered some questions randomly and they were correct like the last one ;)
I thought I can find my score (8k-9k?) whenever I visit the link but I didn't make attention that it wasn't a customised one. I believe my rank is 11 for now.
Thanks!

Thanks for the feedbacks, it comforts me a little from last night :).

Today, heavy weight competitors have entered the game: marlboroza, DdmrDdmr and ... Theymos. I don't know if this is the real Theymos, but he's a real machine with an average of 1.70 seconds per answer.

(Sorry Aquarius, but my cheat detector rang out loud with a score of 100%.)

Still 18 splots available, apply now come and play :).

Looks like a lot of fun and action. Is there still the possibility to look through the questions or play the quiz?
Even though the ranking is now fixed I would like to see what I missed this weekend ;D

Good questions but i did not identify that the timer had anything to do with the points we get for every answer until the last few questions, it was a fun one and thank you for conducting something for our anniversary.

Update the game link to the main page.

How well did you finish with the game @mole815? I'm kicked to the 24th place the last time I checked. Grrr

OK if no-one else kicks this off, I will do the honours:

Code:
[?????] T?? ?????????a?? ???? ????? ?? ??? ??t? a???????a?? ?? ???????ta??
Code:
[?????] The ?????????a?? ???? ????? of the 11th anniversary of Bitcointalk

Code:
[Merit] The illegitimate word search of the 11th anniversary of Bitcointalk

 :D

Nice try but there's a 't' in illegitimate (edit: in "Merit" as well, so no Merit guys ;D), so that's not possible, otherwise it would be there already (errrmmm I suppose :P ;D).

"The biochemicals were blown on the 11th anniversary of Bitcointalk" is still a completely acceptable (also very plausible) possibility, though!

Damn I came to check out the new letters you were adding for several days, but in the end I completely missed out on the launch of your quizz. Isn't that just typical, dammit!! 8) >:( ;D

Too late to register, too many participants apparently, but man, I swear I haven't laughed so much for ages, as when I realized you'd forgotten to lock your thread - that by itself already got you my Merit ;) :D

So I guess the host has to increase the limit if that's an option at all. Also, wouldn't someone like to register with a fake username, find all the answers for the quiz, and then come back with their original username to top the charts?  :P Not like they're going to gain anything but hey little bit of fame in this thread wouldn't hurt.

Anyway the Bitcointalk 11th anniversary quizz is now over.

Here is some data and info about the questions and answers.

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q1.PNG
Only 52% correct answers. I was surprised by this percentage, it was supposed to be a very easy question to warm you up. Especially since I did the quizz on the 21/22nd of November.
And May the 4th is Star Wars day. It was a trap (https://www.dictionary.com/e/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/its-a-trap.gif)

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q2.PNG
72% correct answers, I was surprised too, I expected a lower percentage. Obviously, I am not the only one who dreams of Theymos.

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q3.PNG
52% correct answers, I expected less, the question was not easy. If Satoshi (UID 3) was still writing messages, it would be known. The Madhatter (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=14) (UID 14) has been banned and inactive since September 2011. Cøbra (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=249495) was a trap, his UID is 249495.

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q4.PNG
In 20 seconds, you may have had just enough time to visit this page (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=sources)
Quote
There are 97 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 21171 sMerit per 30 days

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q5.PNG
Only 26% correct answers. OK, it was a very difficult question, but it was to test our statisticians. DdmrDdmr and LoyceV did not fail and gave the right answer.

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q6.PNG
Only 37% correct answers, a little disappointing. I based myself on this page (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=toptopicsat) to get the information.

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q7.PNG
54% correct answers. For a long time I thought it needed 500 activity and 500 merits to be a hero, but 480 activity is necessary.
Ranks and activity:

Brand New: 0 posts
Newbie: 1-29 activity
Jr. Member: 30-59 activity
Member:   60-119 activity
Full Member: 120-239 activity
Sr. Member: 240-479 activity
Hero Member: 480 activity
Legendary: Somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity

Merit:

In addition to Activity you now need Merit to achieve each rank. The required merit is detailed below:

Brand new: 0
Newbie:   0
Jr Member: 1
Member: 10
Full Member: 100
Sr. Member: 250
Hero Member: 500
Legendary: 1000

30% correct answers, a difficult question, I admit it. But this artwork has changed my life, I can't see a banana in the same way anymore.
heres my entry to the art contest. It is a sculpture. I call it Bitcointalk Deity.

Im not so good with words so I am using a sculpture to express my feelings about bitcoin and bitcointalk.

When I first learned about Bitcoin it seemed like scam. Then I learned more about it was. Its something that has never existed before. Something new and bizarre and magical and excellent.

Those are the feelings i tried to evoke in my here art.

The media i used are a banana and banana tattooing.

The art piece also incorporates a hungarian stamp for 5 million adopengo from 1946. This was the last stamp that i knwo of in the hungarian hyperinflation and according to wikipedia 1 adopengo was 2x10E21 pengo. So if wikipedia is correct this stamp was worth 1E29 pengo. At the beginning of 1946, sending a letter cost about 20 pengo. So you can figure out how much hyperinflation there was over the year of 1946. A lot!

The piece also incorporates some ganja and a blotter paper because bitcoin means the freedom to do whatever we want and bitcointalk means the freedom to discuss these things.
The most important parts of the piece are a woodscrew, a tupperware container, a vibrating cock ring and two razor blades that make up the deities mouth. The deity is part inspire by the demigorgon from stranger things. I will let you interpret it as you please.

I hope you all enjoy. i incorporated some other peoples artwork that isnt mine including the satori coin, the silk road blotter paper the ganja and i got some inspiration for the chicken and the knife from some clip art on the internet but i dont know who the original artists is for any of this artwork.

one more thing im a newbie account that means i cant reply to your pms fast but to answer all your ¿?s yes, i will auction this sculpture off after the contest ends if there is interest.

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q10.PNG
59% correct answers, not too bad considering that this bot (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5023605.msg45324722#msg45324722) hasn't been active for a while now.

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q11.PNG
OK I have to explain the first answer because only Germans or those speaking German understood the joke. Autobahn in german = freeway.
And there was a trap, simple moderators cannot ban a user. They can nuke a newbie, but in the modlog (https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php) it says 'nuke user' not autoban.

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q12.PNG
63% correct answers, quite impressive. You're more used to making reports than knowing the anniversary date of the forum :)

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q13.PNG
33% correct answers. It was not an easy question. But there was a little clue : when I put 27 000 posts, you have to understand 27 000 pages in the WO.
27 000 * 20 (posts per page) = 550 000

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q14.PNG
59% correct answers, I expected much less. When it comes to money, you're good :)

I would like to make it clear that Darstar_ and CM did not give anything for this question. Instead of 'Sponsored question' I should have put 'Free ad'.
65% correct answers. Wow.
I wanted to ask a question about signature campaigns because it's an important part of the forum, and ChipMixer is probably the best known and half of the forum must have applied at least once. Apparently) I was right :)

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q16.PNG
Only 30% correct answers.
Bitcointalk.org and cryptotalk.org were obvious pitfalls. Many fell into them.
www.cryptos-currencies.com was the first forum created from Epochtalk, but Lulucrypto has disappeared and the forum is no longer online.
So coinbistro.com remained.

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q17.PNG
57% correct answers, not bad.

54% correct answers, I expected a lot more because this quote comes back very often in Meta.
I'll get right on that, just as soon as hell freezes over.

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q20.PNG
With 17% correct answers, this was clearly the most difficult question.
I don't know how I came across the topic of the origins of usernames, but Theymos has revealed a little secret here :
I originally made mine for an RPG character: Theymos Amastica. It was created without much thought, being only a minor adjustment of the "Thamior" and "Amastacia" names given as elven name examples in the D&D 3.5 Player's Handbook. I began using it for all of my online game accounts, as well, and then I used it even for non-game accounts so I wouldn't have to remember multiple usernames. (At this point most of my online accounts were game-related.)

I sometimes wish that I had chosen something better and more meaningful, though it is nicely unique: almost all Google results for "theymos" are related to me. It would be very difficult to change at this point, after using it for 5+ years.
Noted that Theymos answered this question incorrectly (he put the answer D).

http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/Q21.PNG
Only 35% correct answers. OK I have seen your complaints and I understand them. Instead of "Who is he ?" I should have put "Which user is it ?", the question would have been less ambiguous.
But it was Theymos (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5124947.0) who posted this picture, not Thermos :)

Image credits: Kahoot's gallery, Google Images, screenshots from Bitcointalk, screenshot from Epochtalk, the Chipmixer logo, a graph from tranthidung (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1292764).

And here is the final ranking (sorry Mole0815 :))
http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/C1.PNG
http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/C2.PNG
http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/C3.PNG
http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/C4.PNG
http://precu.free.fr/BCT/Divers/Quizz/C5.PNG

Congratulations to Theymos, but it was easy for him because there were a lot of questions about him.
Congratulations to Iasenko and DdmrDdmr, only 3 mistakes (Q8, 11 and 16 for Iasenko and Q4, 8 and 20 for DdmrDdmr). You are really the great experts of this forum.
Sorry again for the people who came on Saturday night.

Hopefully you’ll do a few more ??
Mmmm no, there will be no Christmas quizz, no New Year's quizz. But... I don't know if it's because of the lockdown or if I'm a masochist, but while doing this quizz, I thought of something else, bigger, crazier : Bitcointalk Olympic Games.
Imagine several teams competing on different events on Bitcointalk ?
So there would be "national" teams from the local sections (GER, Croatia, India, Spanish, maybe from Japan, China, etc...), but also a USA/North American team, GB, AUS/NZ, an African team, etc... But also "thematic" teams : scamhunters team, spambusters team, collectibles team, statisticians team, Staff team, Wall Observer Team, etc...
And for the moment I see 3 types of events possible :
- A quizz : I saw that with Kahoot a live quizz is not possible and it is not easy to gather a lot of people at the same time. But, for example, I could connect to Discord and give the link privately to the quizz participants.
- A trading contest: guess the price of BTC + 2-3 altcoins at a given date.
- An art contest : but something quite simple with an imposed theme.

With this quizz, I saw that something is needed to motivate members. It could be a badge, a title, something unique and/or BTC for the winners. I will have to see with Theymos what is possible and/or find a generous sponsor.
It's just a idea. Would you be interested or am I crazy ?

All the ideas you suggested are good , but we don’t always need prizes as such , it’s nice to just have some fun too  :)
You could do some quizzes based on the unofficial rules of the forum etc - help out the newbies when the join , learning and fun together ?
Anyway, well done do some MORE

That's it, the maximum number of participants has been reached. I'll spare you the details, but I was anally violated by Kahoot and I thought I would use a trial version, but when I logged back into my old account, it activated the payment. 288€ in my ass... Last week was not a good week for me. But I can create quizz for a year :).
Anyway the Bitcointalk 11th anniversary quizz is now over.
Damn man that was a necessary evil! 288€ ain't no joke!  ;D

How about everybody commenting here for Halab to create another one create sort of a prize pool and contribute to all the costs involved in organizing the quiz? If money is involved, I'm sure members would take the quiz more seriously and Halab doesn't have to shell money out of his pockets.

the quiz would be forum-related right? and if it is forum related and there is money involve people might cheat. I'm not saying they will but they might especially if money is involved. it would be easy to cheat since people taking the quiz can easily find the answer here in the forum. there was even a member who got removed from the ranking after Halab finding out that the member cheated to get the perfect score. but on the other hand, an occasional quiz would be nice.

I had already used the trial version a few months ago for another quizz and cancelled the subscription. I don't know what triggered the billing (I had left my credit card information), but I must have made a mistake when I came back on my account.

How about everybody commenting here for Halab to create another one create sort of a prize pool and contribute to all the costs involved in organizing the quiz? If money is involved, I'm sure members would take the quiz more seriously and Halab doesn't have to shell money out of his pockets.

No, I won't ask for money for a quizz. With Kahoot, I thought I was clever, but I got burned, lesson learned. It's my fault, I take the blame.
And as Acroman08 says, it's easy to cheat. There's already enough drama here :)

I think i am late to the party because the code mentioned no longer works on kahoot.it site.

However, was there any prize for the winner who answered the most correct answers ?

you don't need the code anymore. Halab posted another link since the first one had some issues regarding the questions not being shown. also, you can see the ranking after finishing the whole quiz.

It's here : https://kahoot.it/challenge/08080508 (I didn't try it with TOR).

Look like i am again late ot the party.  :(
When i open the quiz with a new link, there are no more spots left. I will try my luck next time when @Halab will come up with another quiz.  :)
