Hi everyone!

I'm new in the Crypto World, but I am absolutely obsessed with it.

I want to start investing in BTC/ETH, maybe also some others like THETA, Audius and more.

I am following different youtubers, twitter accounts, discord channels, to learn as much I can about crypto as I can.

BUT, is not the correct time to invest? As long as I understand, we are in a bull-run right now, and many do believe that BTC and also ETH will grow. Some belive BTC will hit 100K and some also think ETH will be up to 10% of BTC total value by end of the year.
- And addition to this, we might see a drop and go in a bear-market, but this seems not to be the case.

I'm also looking into start long trading on buybit, I want to start small and get the hang of it and learn the system and how it works.

SO, back to the actual question: is NOW a good or bad time to begin investing? Or should I wait for a heavy drop in the market, which might not come?
- I am looking for a LONG term investment.

If you are new traders, Then invest only in known coins. BTC, ETH, BNB etc is doing good. I Don't think this time is bad for investment. I think this time also good for investment. Demand of cryptocurrency still increasing. And price of al popular coin will be increase soon. So from my opinion,  It’s still good time for investing.

What is your time frame? If you're looking for a simple speculation pay attention since you're so newbie and this world is full of sharks, whales, scammers... best time for investing depends in your wallet. if you have enough money to risk, ok go for. but if you are just going to risk your life saving and you don't have a "plan-b" it's better you avoid this chance.

If I'd just come here now, I'd buy with what I can tbh. You should probably remember that buying will be risky and you can do a lot with a little - there's no need to overdo it.

If a crash comes with a similar severity as what we normally see, a crash to below $20k may be possible if we do drop from reaching $100k.

I normally like the idea of respecting a previous ath. I feel quite confident we could make it to $60k again where the ath was and we didn't seem overvalued by then and didn't have a dramatic crash.

I'm not investing all my life savings, and I want to be in it for the long run - so as I see it, I can buy in now, and if it drops down to 20K or something like that, it's just about keeping what I have and hopefully it will go up in the years to come.
ETH is promising some exiting changes soon, and what happens to the value is unknown, seems like miners wont be so happy with the changes they are looking into.

I feel like I don't want to miss out on this opportunity, and I'm not gonna cry about it if I loose in this, as long as the amount I invest is not everything I have.  I'm super excited about it, and also what we see in crypto art and music picking up speed.

If I were you, I would not rely on following or listening to influencers. Although they can give you some ideas, but it’s much better if you invest on your own instinct.

There is also no good or bad timing about investing into cryptocurrencies, because they are unpredictable and has high volatility. They could pump or dump without warning at any moment.

No question that both BTC and ETH are long term investments. As long you know how to manage your risks and invest what you can afford to lose and hold it for long term, then you’re good with it. After all, only you can decide because it’s your coins.

As for your case of starting out, I don't think there are any bad times when it comes to investing, because basically investing is largely keeping some of your money in crypto over the long term. therefore you don't need to choose too much crypto. because enough with Bitcoin and Ethereum means that you have chosen the right decision.

As for the time to enter and buy, you don't need to wait for a sharp decline time, because bitcoin and ethereum will continue to grow from day to day, even though you buy it at a high enough price on the pretext of long-term, all will be paid off with profits at a later date. however, it comes back to your mental readiness in dealing with bear market situations, because investing and trading are different.

I'll advise you do not get emotionally invested in any asset class to the extent of getting obsessed with it, this affects your ability to make investment decisions.

Someone who invested at any price under $20k would not mind a + or - difference of a couple of thousands, as the price increase would sufficiently cover it, same way we can look at the price now. I feel most comfortable with investing, since trading is a completely new world for me, but that said, I am interested in learning trading. Maybe I will just play around with a small amount and see where it goes.

By the way, when I invest, should I keep whatever I buy on a hardware wallet or online?

Long term investing, always go for the best options, BTC and ETH can be those best coins to hold for.
A newbie like you should not trade yet, because of lack in experience and knowledge so its good that you play long for now.

If you already take some steps to learn about the market, just continue doing it and if not, better to start learning now.
Cryptocurrency is very volatile, today can be a good price to buy but tomorrow is not sure, it can be good or bad depends on the price trends so you must be prepared for any possible losses. There's no good or bad time to invest, just know your own timeline and it can be a good time for you.

So following them and making a decision will not be the right decision for you. You've been watching the crypto market for so long and you probably understand how the market works. It would be risky to make short-term investments in the current market conditions. If you have extra money then you can make long term investment in BTC, ETH. By making long-term investments, you will not be under pressure due to short-term market changes.

People got obsessed because seeing someone get a huge profit in crypto but they are not knowing how many times that this person did lose before to have what he got today. Thinking about investment corresponds to the risk and the possibility of loss.

Asking GOOD or BAD? The situation is really at high-risk and I would say this is not the best time for new investors to start. If you are just new to crypto, I would suggest understanding the situation first and ask yourself if you are ready enough to face challenging scenarios. There is no such thing as good or bad time to invest as you will build experience here. But first of all, you don't want to try trading without any knowledge so you need to learn some basics. Advance knowledge can be learned later on.

If you are willing to invest on a long term basis then Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB and other major crypto is way to go. You wont regret on investing on them whether if it's on the short term or on a long term. If you want to invest on other more volatile crypto then you must study and watch the trading activity more often to avoid loss.
In case of the timeframe, it isn't too late to invest on major crypto as the wall for them too big due to the support of major companies and big investors especially on BTC. But if you're willing to wait on the price drop, then I suggest investing only half now and continue to invest the half after the dip happened.
Another thing, I might suggest is try to explore other trading platform such as Binance since you're just starting. Buybit might be a good platform but it's rather to explore major trading site such as binance which is used by many.

I have realized that it's better to look at the long term instead of a short-term sight, and that's your correct positioning, OP. You shouldn't wait for the market to drop because it's necessarily not a great way to invest. The best way is Dollar Cost Averaging it in an asset that you believe in. That's the best way to increase your net worth continuously and make sure you are using a hardware wallet with it. Just buy in an exchange and if you can, transfer it to your wallet (if you are not going to trade it)

Nobody actually know, bitcoin price has never been this so high before, but the bull are not also accumulating bitcoin at the moment while the price of other coins following bitcoin price trends. You can't take the bullrun as the time to invest your money. Remember this word dude "buy low and sell high" which means you should enter the market when the bearish trend is happening and waiting for the crypto to recover from its temporary dump. i think that if this is more than enough to give you a clue about when the best time to invest.

For me it is still good time to invest despite of the market flunctuation over the past weeks. It is still good but we shoulf be aware about the risk esprcially on those top coins. Yes they have great market price but right now they are not stable, they are changing on a daily basis.

Just trust yourself on what you are seeing on the crypto of your choice, There are a lot of predictions on the internet and it's hard to tell who's prediction will happen. Analyze the chart, read patterns, and see the news with that you can somehow increase the chance of you gaining profit from your investments. But regarding other coins you have told, I don't have any idea about it.
Some Bitcoin supporters believe there is no good or bad time to invest when it comes to BTC and I agree with them.

Trusting yourself and instinct is best way to do. Looking back to how top Altcoins started and how they became today is one proof that step by step everything will be on the right track and each have it's time to boost on top. Investing needs much of our trust, confidence, knowledge and patience. What we have targeted or what our goals this day and future will surely achieve.

Maybe we may come up on the same conclusion about the current market status of the cryptocurrency you opting to invest with but don't settle for what others have already concluded. Make your own research and don't fall for same mistake as what other have been.

I disagree with the statement that nobody knows if this current market season is good or bad to invest in since it a bullish market. But let burst your bubbles, now it not the good/best time to invest but to seize the market opportunities, the best time to invest is when the market is in the bearish season when the weak hands are panic sell their holdings.

There’s really no perfect time to invest but since you aim for long term I’m sure that you might get something out of your investment. You’re doing the right thing by doing research and collect for opinions, however its your decision and knowledge will matter after all.

Footing my own knowledge and understanding aboutvcryptocurrency market. Every market session is good and bad time to invest because of the crypto market volatile in nature which would make the market dump or pump in price without anything footing it.
But it important is the trader/investor knowledge in making a profitable decision and choosing an investment.

well, thinking about the bullrun of BTC it is really risky to invest with the King, I choose XRP as an altcoin to be one of the coins that I am Investing as of the moment not really risky at all. you should always know the charts weekly and have a weekly consultation. A long term investment and for a newcomer to this market Bitcoin is always what we start with, and I think investing in it for a long one will always be the right thing to do. For me, i think this is the BEST time to buy and invest in crypto, because as for today, the price of crypto are all falling down, it's a big short correction, so yeah, if you really need an advice this is a good or bad timing, this is the best timing to buy crypto in a such cheap price.

I have been getting a small profit from buying bitcoin at the bottom price and that's very nice.

Not all altcoin are dropping but there are some coins have huge potential to increase in the future. In some point it need more time to study the possible outcome that can be demand in the crypto currency world. On my part I invest some coins that can be have a profit though does not as huge amount but I believe it can have a profit in the future.

I learned a lot on this forum and the most precious knowledge was there is no good time or bad time investing in Bitcoin.
Someone said that to me when Bitcoin was still at $900 and many investors are already doubting its capability.

It is good all of the time and when the investor is ready to buy. This question has always been asked and there's uncertainty for those people who ask this because they don't know if they should buy or not. But if somebody answers them that it's good then that might encourage them to invest but if somebody says that it's not, they won't invest just to be sure. When they're mentally prepared, I gues that should be the sign that they should invest.

well, in general, now we are in the pumping era. however, it does not preclude the possibility that a follow-up pump will occur. If you feel that the current price is that high, try to find information on popular altcoins that are not yet pumped, and which are not too high. besides, I think starting on BTC / ETH is still not the right time. however, it all depends on how many assets you have.

Its always good to invest mate but unfortunately you missed the right time to obtain good profits. Because some of the coins you've mentioned above is already done showing good progress.. But still you have one choice mate which is Bitcoin. Because it's now keep crashing.. So put your money in it while its not late 'cause for sure soon or later it will pump back again to the ATH value and probably has tend to exceed more base also in some speculation of many traders..  So think about it mate..

I wouldn't encourage people in that kind of wording. Newbies are going to be encouraged through those words about huge possible profit which they are going to potential lose instead of making money.

I don't completely agree. Yes, if you bought a couple of months ago, you would have made a lot of profits, but if you believe in BTC and ETH in the long end than it doesn't really matter when you buy it. Timing in the market always beats timing the market.
 

It is not that simple. Many people are scared that the price is way too high and that is why they should not be investing into anything at all, they are scared and I understand that. I am not saying it is bad time to invest, I am still putting money into crypto all the time, I have lost a lot of money on days that were purely green, I really do not mind whatever the result will be I will keep on investing because I like crypto.

However that doesn't mean that we should only see the world from our perspective, there are tons of people who are scared of this situation and not investing. I would be scared too if I was new for example, because price is a lot and people do not know what they should invest into when prices are so high. What if prices went up so much and now it is time for them to go down? Who knows when they will go down? So, that is why they are scared.

It is high time to invest in Crypto. Most of the coin price is down in this time. So you can invest now. This is 100% good time to invest on Bitcoin and Ethereum. This coin is the most potential coin now. Don't wait for heavy drop. I think this gonna not happen. If you want to invest for long time then don't overthinking and invest in Bitcoin. I also think that Bitcoin price will hit $100k in the end of this year.

You can invest in crypto anytime you want, and only you that will know when you should invest in crypto, but make sure when you want to buy any coin, that coin is at a downtrend so you can get a low price and when the price increase, you will make a profit. But if you invest in any coin now, maybe you are a bit late as many coins already increase, so maybe you need to find out which coin is still at a low price and not yet increase. Price corrections are always expected after a huge pump so if you are going to invest right now, the risk is very high. But we can reduce the risk if we invest in those high potential coins that will grow more in the future. For me, if i have enough funds in the pocket, i'll take the risk to invest because i don't want to miss again big opportunities just because of my fear of losing.

Investing in the top 5 coins may not seem like a bad idea but there have been coins there in which I would not have invested a single dollar, for example even if right now ripple is outside the top 5 it was there for a long time and many people probably invested in it thinking it was a good coin when it is nothing more but a trap set up by banks and now they are facing a case in court, so while the top 5 coins look good at the same time things are not so simple that you can just invest in those coins and obtain profits.

I think its a bad and good time for those investor who invest in alt when Bitcoin price is at 50000$ then it will be a bad for them because after a dump of Bitcoin from 50000$ to 47500$ most of the alt dump about 10 to 30 percent but if you are not still invest in Bitcoin at 47500$ then its a good time for you because there are huge resistance between 50000$ to 55000$ it mean that it will take too time to break this resistance so its a good for you if you invest in Bitcoin or any alt after dump then I think it will be profitable for you as compare to invester in btc at 50000$

Bitcoin has dropped a bit after reaching 50$ mark so I feel it is a pretty good time to invest some amount in bitcoin. But it can go down even more so I recommend investing small amount now and wait and if it falls even more than invest more on it.

I don't see it going down, it's actually recovering now because the market trend is bullish. Maybe the price now is lower than its ATH which is $64k, so if you think it will break its current ATH, then there's no problem in buying bitcoin at $50k. @matchi2011 I think there is always a good and a bad time for trading, I would never jump into a market that has reached its ATH because after every ATH there is a massive dip, which isn't a good time to put your money on any crypto. However after every dip brings an opportunity for traders to buy potential projects really cheap. Hence I always tell people to always aim for the dip in the crypto market.

It is just a matter of time that btc is testing 50k for now and sooner if it can cross and sustain above 50k it will rise back to its new ATH. So with btc rising we can expect altcoins will also rise and will have a good returns on your investment done now.

I think that btc will decide price of market. Almost all altocoin has gone 2 to 3X price from all time low but still some coin is below their all time low, there can be altocoin bullish trend in market but why I feel that btc will crash in sometimes so who knows we get good lower point to enter in btc and altocoins. This time is perfect for some little fund not for big funds to invest.
